20 Best Work Boots For Summer (2023 Updated)

I wore these doing landscaping every day for two years without any issues, except having to replace the laces after a year, which was reasonable. The stock laces are excellent quality with a spectra fiber core, but I chose to upgrade with Ironlaces.

No delamination issues, but the boots were starting to get soft around the base so I decided to replace them before the spring season. Another reviewer complained about how they easily scuff. So what.

These are work boots, not pretty-boy poser boots to wear around the mall. The treads are relatively shallow, but the traction is excellent in slippery conditions. The shallow treads don’t retain dirt and mud as readily so the treads remain exposed.

It is also easier to kick off mud before getting in the truck so less dirt falls out of the treads (invariably while indoors) after it has dried a bit.

I purchased these boots in the beginning of winter for several reasons. Mainly because they have that look I was looking for in a boot. They are pretty comfortable and when wearing the correct sucks they do keep your feet warm while working outside.

Two days after buying them I was driving to one of my jobs and when I got out of my vehicle I noticed there was this big scuff on the toll of my left boot. I was very confused because I haven’t really been in any situation for it to get scuffed.

The next day I had a similar situation but with another scuff even worse right next to the last one. Turns out the scuffs were from my brake pedal rubbing up against it and leaving a ripped look. I was very upset and I couldn’t believe out of all the work I do nothing happen to them but me just driving somewhere caused so much damage from a break pedal.

I thought this would’ve been a boot that I would be purchasing once a year because I liked them so much but now I’m just not so sure if every time I’m driving I have to make sure I watch my foot.

I tried on multiple different brands (i. e. Wolverine, Timberland, DeWalt, Caterpillar, ECT. ) and they all were “just alright”. Once I went to a store that had these boots and tried them on, I made up my mind within 3 seconds that these were it.

And they looked better than all the others. The steel toe box actually has enough room for your toes and they are insanely comfortable. No break in period needed for these. I went straight to all day, on my feet, work with zero fatigue or pain.

Even throw them on for walking the dog. They are my all day, every day shoes. I’ve also put these boots through the ringer with construction and landscaping and they just keep trucking along. No separation, no holes, no tears, no lacing hooks breaking.

Nothing. I hope they make this boot forever because I will forever buy them! (That is. If these boots ever need replacing).

I started buying these boots about 4 years ago. My first 2 pair were great! I have terrible feet and ankles and LOVED how stiff the leather was not only for ankle support but for longer wear. With the stiff leather, these were the first boot that I found that actually worked for me putting in 12-14 hour days on the concrete as well as on the farm.

This most recent pair the leather is super soft, not providing much support and loosened very fast. I have been wearing them to get my money’s worth out of them, but I need a new pair and not sure if I try another pair if the leather is going to be soft and not provide me with any ankle support.

If they go back to a stiffer leather, I would buy these forever.

I bought my second pair of Hammer Internal Metatarsal Steel Toe Work Boots a few weeks ago after proudly wearing my first pair for over 3 years. I absolutely love these boots because of their comfort and aesthetic appeal – they truly are the most comfortable boots and age beautifully.

Keep reading. I wish I could give the new pair a 5 star review, but after putting my new pair on, specifically the right shoe, I noticed the upper/lacing area was noticeably off center. Whoever stitched/made my pair attached this area substantially off center.

It doesn’t affect the integrity of the boot but it does look downright goofy and forces me to question the quality control Georgia Boot enforces. Something like this could have been avoided by implementing better quality control procedures – paying a single employee to open each pair of purchased shoes and checking off certain measures.

I imagine my right shoe should have either been thrown out, donated, or re-stitched. I love these boots more than the several other boots I’ve owned, including $250+ Carolina and Chippewa boots, but I was simply given a “blemished” pair of boots.

I am fine with overseas manufacturing as it lowers the cost and doesn’t necessarily affect the quality, but when you do outsource the manufacturing to China, Vietnam, Korea, etc. , quality control is crucial.

In my opinion these are the highest rated and ‘prettiest’ boots Georgia Boot make. Maybe consider adding it to your “Made in USA” line? I’d gladly pay an extra 50 bucks to ensure top-notch quality. I want to keep purchasing this specific boot, but I’m left unsure now.

Boots designed to last with comfort every step of the way. I work a relatively medium duty job, but the boots have definitely seen some hard work periodically. From weld shops to sludge, I’ve had the same pair for just over 5 years, and they have held up great.

Albeit they probably should have been replaced before now. With my experience with other brands/models, this is an easy repurchase, worth every penny.

Great boots. Comfortable right out of box. Work in a shop 10+ hours a day. Price is fantastic as well. Highly recommend!

Great boot! Used for welding for over a year and a half! Great fit and look great! They are also very comfortable! I wore them everyday to and from work and school. Overall 5 stars!

They have the same fit and feel of modern military boots. They are comfortable for wear and walking. All so good so far. Unfortunately, they may look like work boots. I wouldn’t say they are something you want to wear on the job.

If it it raining, there are water puddles, you have to walk on wet floors being mopped, walk through wet grass, walk over wet gravel, any kind of water in your environment, it doesn’t even have to be 1/8 of an inch of standing water.

Definitely avoid melting snow and slush with these boots. The soles, the bottoms of these boots, wick up, suck up, grab water and put water inside the boot right under your feet, soaking your socks, like a compressed sponge released under water.

These boots do not keep your feet dry. You take off these boots, your feet are waterlogged and socks soaking wet. The inside of the boot musty and damp. If you walked barefoot, your feet would be dryer.

These boots absorb water through the stitching on the bottom of the boots. Wearing these boots in outside freezing weather, while the boots are constantly putting any contact moisture from outside the boots inside the boots, could cause frost bite.

These boots do not breathe they absorb water and hold it on your socks and feet. I would not wear these boots to farm or work in. They are a good looking boot. Due to the design flaw only wear indoors for looks.

Definitely not recommended for people actually working. Do not wear to farm, ranch or work in. They will soak your feet and socks. I can’t think of any job where you want waterlogged feet.

Not for wide feet or comfort. I wore these boots for 8 hours, my job requires alot of walking and climbing. It was painful to walk after 2 hours. after 5 hours every step was painful, almost impossible to walk, dreading every step.

The next day I had about 6 blisters from these shoes. I ordered size 11. 5 wide, the steel toe area wasn’t wide and kept rubbing my big toe. The shoe feels flat like walking barefoot on concrete. I went to Skechers and found some steel toe hiking boots that cushion every step and FIT.

If you have tight shoes, use bandage tape and lightly wrap the areas where you get blisters or double sock.

I have been looking for a true wide width for women and they just don’t seem to get the concept of what ‘wide’ actually is. They advertise the width as “W” but they are closer to a medium. As a result of all that I have bought and returned numerous boots.

The manufacturers of women’s boots need to realize that women also work in fields that require a good hard working boot, one that doesn’t compromise on comfort and fit, and then they need to step up and make some much needed design changes! I know these are labeled ‘men’s’ shoes but being fed up with the options for available for women I decided to try these out.

After reading the male reviews on this boot I just had to give them a go and I AM SO GLAD I DID!!! The fit was perfect with plenty of room to wiggle your toes around and even enough room to add gel insoles if you choose to, although they are quite comfy without them! I am on my feet all day, walking/working on concrete, gravel, mud and dirt and any mixture in between and these boots are great! I also love the composite toe because they are so light weight you don’t even know you are wearing a safety toed boot.

I just can’t say enough good things about them and I know that I have found my ‘forever’ boot :)). I wear a woman’s size 6 1/2 W and the men’s size 5 was perfect! Thank you Rockport for making a small enough man’s size to accommodate a small woman’s foot!.

I purchased these for my boyfriend who is on his feet all day. He says they’re comfy and well made. He wore them once with low ankle socks, and the lining inside rubbed the wrong way and hurt, so he only wears tall socks with them now and all is good.

His very first comment when he opened the box was they they looked designed for comfort–far better than the cheaper pair he purchased for himself elsewhere. The steel toe in this pair leaves appropriate room around his toes and does not dig in.

I was very hesitant to order these shoes online as I have a very hard time finding safety shoes that are wide enough for my feet. After reading all of the previous reviews on these I took a chance & went ahead & ordered them.

I am very happy with my decision. These shoes are very comfortable! Plenty of room & no rubbing in the toe area. As long as they hold up to the wear and tear at work I will definitely buy again.

Had them 8 months now and love them super comfortable and hold up well. Very hard on boots and these things are a beast could wear them forever definitely recommend

These shoes are a perfect fit. I used a chart online that translates foot tracing measurements to shoe size and width. Did twice, two days apart, sort of a measure twice correct size once fit. Boots are very well built with great stitching and fine heavy leather.

I have just used them in North Dakota’s first snow storm and my feet stayed toasty. The insulation is light but top notch. I am going to use these boots also as ski boots in universal bindings for cross country skiing.

These are definitely 5 star value boots for a wide range of uses. I sorely wish I would have had these boots in the U. S. Marine Corps instead of the big rubber Mickey Mouse boots for use in cold weather training.

I believe they will be good to about -40 degrees. It gets that temp here in the northern plains on occasion. Danner, outstanding job!!.

In 2013, I had started working as a security shift supervisor for a college in Toronto and most of my duties kept me out side in all kinds of weather, traipsing through all kinds of muck, man made or otherwise, for 12+ hours a shift.

After going through several pairs of all the usual suspects in the tac-boot world and being mostly unsatisfied with the results, I happened upon this lonely pair of Acadias at my local outfitter and decided on a whim to give them a try.

Am I ever glad I did; the Danner Acadias were simply the best choice I have ever made for foot wear. Comfort, durability, ease of cleaning, weather resistant, all my must have boxes were checked. Non-marking soles were quiet on tile floors, gravel and pavement.

The water resistance is good all the way up to the cuff of the boot, and even at only 200g of thinsulate, were excellent in all but the worst of Canadian winter days. They were also light enough for daily wear in the summer, even on 100F days.

Yes, it could cause some sweating but I never had any issue. The combination of thin wool socks and an exceptional fit never left me with blisters. I know Danner offers a re-treading service and its good peace of mind to have that available, but in the eight plus years of hard use, not once have I needed to use it.

I’ve since left the security industry, but I still wear my Acadias regularly. I swear by them. My only gripe is not being able to get the composite toe version CSA certified. Would love to have a pair for my current gig.

I finally treated myself to 200g Acadia boots after 20 years of policing. I work in a region of Canada where the temperatures range from -35 degree C (-31 F) to about 40 degree C (104 F). We get a lot a sleet and snow.

These boots keep my feet comfortable in all conditions. I can hardly believe it. My feet are never tired of wearing them after 12 plus hours on shift. I’m a Canadian but I actually get excited to by something made in Canada or the U.

S. Too much of our manufacturing has left North America with poor quality to show for it. Fantastic quality here. Too much throw away garbage out there these days. I don’t mind spending the extra money on a product I can resole and keep in use for years to come.

After 2 days the inside of the boot ripped, I have to put a bag over my foot so it won’t get stuck trying to get my foot out after work. Also I can step in a quarter inch of water and feel my foot get wet, one of my favorite fitting pairs of boots really upset with these draw backs other wise I would never get a different pair of boots again.

The top of the boot is way to open and loose. I wouldn’t recommend this boot to anyone. Never order it again, sincerely unhappy customer!

These boots so far are the real deal. They are built well, holding up to work, and comfortable. They also look awesome. The only adjustment I made was changing out the laces. I wear a size 14 and the fit was good and I researched boots for a few months before I made the purchase bc of the work I do.

On the overall quality without cutting the boot in half to see what is inside, I would rate this with Irish setter, red wing, thourogood. If you work construction and want a good boot give this a try.

I’ve had these for 6 months now and they are very comfortable. They feel like sneakers but they are no longer waterproof. Technically they were only waterproof if I didn’t get them wet above the laces.

I’m still wearing them on dry days. It took a week to break in. I suggest putting Vaseline on the inside for the back of your ankle because it rubbed mine raw till they were broke in. I am a union laborer concrete hand so I put a lot of demand on boots.

These ones are good for the price.

I hope to come back and update this review after all transactions have been completed. First, I have been a Red Wing customer for a decade but wanted to break free from the “look” of standard leather safety boots.

The Carhartt Force® 6-Inch Nano Composite Toe Work Boot seemed to be a perfect cross between the casual hiker and work boot I was looking for to meet my needs in field and office environments. It was also great to find out they offer a discount to Veterans.

Ordering was simple (my standard American size and medium width), and the boots were on their way. They arrived just one day after the estimated delivery date. I absolutely loved the way they looked! Initial try-on, I noticed a lump in the stitching on the right boot where the togue attached to the upper.

When I tied the boot snugly it was painful on my ankle. The left boot was fine and did not have the same issue. I figured it may work itself out during break-in, so I loosened the laces a bit and went on my way.

After several hours I noticed my right knee and hip were feeling strained and it felt as if my right foot was tilted left and walking off center to the sole of the boot. I kept trying to correct but could not.

I believe the soul was assembled (glued) slightly off from the upper, I could not wear these shoes! I went online and initiated a return that evening and received the authorization promptly. Kudos for the automated customer service and ease of returns.

They don’t offer exchanges, so I went online and ordered another pair that same night. I hope the issues I had were a fluke because I really like the look of these boots. I boxed and mailed the boots back the next day and verified the tracking number was received.

I am trusting that the credit will be applied for the first pair since I now have two pairs billed to me. As of today (over 24-hours) I haven’t received a confirmation on my new order. I will follow up if nothing by tomorrow.

As a note to other potential purchasers, when I reordered the second pair, I went ½ size larger. I would have been ok with the original size had I not had the other issues, but the toes seemed just a hair tight perhaps due to the composite toe.

I believe the additional ½ larger will provide a little more space for the toes to breathe when feet swell due to the summer heat. As I said, hope to keep you posted when the next pair arrives.

I’m a lineman for National Grid and work between 60-90hrs every week. I’m constantly on my feet and was looking for a boot that was comfortable but also safe for my work environment. Seeing these boots online they looked like they could get the job done but unfortunately once I got them I realized this was not the case.

They looked slightly different in person. The fit was a bit bigger than I expected. On the first day I wore them we were off road in a muddy area and I realized these boots have zero traction. I was slipping and sliding and finding it hard to move around as I wanted to.

They also weren’t very well insulated. It’s a shame I am really a devoted carharrt customer and the company is always very supportive. Unfortunately this product wasn’t the right fit to me and I plan on seeking options to return or find a better boot.

I have only worn them once and have cleaned them. The boots have no damage.

ive researched over 1000 boots in 10 years this is my new favorite first thing i do is take out the insole who needs insole if you build a shoe right im a size 12 these offer plenty of space plenty of width nano composite is the most powerful keyword today in boot research nano comp is compliant and lighter these are a beautiful clean rugged colorway very lightweight ill measure the grams when i get home you really cant beat the polyester knit upper fabric i work at okc water plant with ple ty of pressure these are almost too dry because i like t get my feet wet.

i spray ght at 86 psi for a minute before it gets to my feet. outsole is a little flat but does offer flexibility in its waffle shape kinda like the 200 miles i ran in those nike frees laces seem a little thin but hey its poly stuff is like paracord plenty strong lots of cush on the lace when u tighten it they have good arch support with or without the sole.

if u ever get sand in these boots from the river you have to perform surgery cut the ankle at the achilles and open a hole then split the inner foot adhesive from the shoe flip it inside out and then blow all the sand with an air compressor.

this shoes weakest link is how much freakin sand gets pcked in but its only 2 holes right at each side of the bottom of the tongue if carhartt will seal it and install a impermeable liner this shoe will win the stock market maybe also a dark grey colorway or as carhartt calls it “peat” would be gorgeous thanks.

I had come from multiple failed attempts to find a Boot that I felt like could be MY BOOT. I tried Justin’s and Wolverene and even Merrell, as I live outside of work in barefoot/ zero drop shoes. By the way I would never suggest anyone buy Merrell work boots.

Any how, my brother in law is a Marine and he said buy Danners. He then repeated this in a large variety of ways. Here I am, after a year in these boots so thankful that I did. I couldn’t tell you how many 16 hour, 18 hour days I’ve spent with these on my feet.

I get home and am in no hurry to get them off my feet. They are SO Comfortable. As a technician in the telecom industry I encounter a variety of terrain, endure regular ackword long help position, in and out of a truck 30 plus times a day and put an average of 11000 steps in a day.

I will say the water proof factor is a touch lacking but I mean they lace up. there made to the highest quality but not with magic so let’s be realistic. Admittedly I’ve also never attempted to enhance or maintain that aspect either.

I work in south eastern GA and yea my feet sweat but never so much where I wish I’d have gotten a lighter boot. I’m here purchasing another pair due to a change in company policy allowing me to purchase boots at a new price range so ill buy another pair and they will sit, waiting for the time they are needed.

After a year of almost daily wear these things are just resilient and consistent. I’m never concerned about if my boots will be up too the task, it’s the farthest thing from my mind. These are MY BOOTS and so long as I have feet, ill put them in Danners to get the job done!.

I call these hybrid boots because they are as good for everyday comfort wear as they are for work. I wear them every day and have never had a boot that locks my foot in better than these. The support is incredible.

I love the lacing system because once the laces are secured by the hooks, you don’t have to worry about keeping the laces pulled tight while you tie them. The hooks do that for you. Like others have commented, I had to order the wide (EE) version, even though I don’t consider my feet to be wide.

These are not lightweight boots, but once they are on my feet, the weight is not an issue and most likely will contribute to their durability. The ankle area seems to be padded a little thicker than necessary, but it may be intentional to provide added bump protection for work.

All in all, these boots are very comfortable with only a few days break-in required. The sole is great for me, as it provides plenty of grip but doesn’t have overly deep groves that would trap dirt/debris.

I’m not a hiker, but I imagine these would be good for that also.

The boots are definitely my favorite I’ve ever bought. (Out of all companies). I have a pair for work that are BEAT and still going. Only positive things to say. The ONLY thing I would change is adding tshirts or hats.

DEFINITELY stickers for toolboxes/hard hats. Keep up the great work. You have a customer in me forever.

Love the shoes. Really nice quality top bottom. Comfortable as heck. I get a lot of compliments and people asking where I got them. The only bad, one of the shoes looks like it had a stitching mistake that was fixed, so the old needle holes show where the bad stitches were.

Wasn’t bad enough to send back. Plus didn’t want to take them off. Lol.

Boot review 6” black. great looking boot… I bought these in black from you guys because Red Wing doesn’t offer it in black, have the same style from Red wing. Left boot came slightly rough on top near last lace hole of boot cut my leg above ankle from the rubbing, right boot slightly uncomfortable above big toe, hoping this will go away when broken in.

Honestly, hate to say this but so far not really satisfied. RED WING has earned their price point.
