20 Best Work Boots For Gout (2023 Updated)

I am so glad these boots came out!!! My husband wears this style in the regular Wolverine Moc toe wedge also and I like having another great boot to purchase for his needs. My husband is a hard working electrical contractor and goes though 2 or 3 pairs of these a year.

Constant standing, stooping and walking in them through rain, rocks, mud and hazardous work sites. The reason he likes this style is that the wedge sole is easier on his back pain. This is the only style he will wear and swears by it.

The height of the boots keeps him from twisting an ankle and the leather is soft enough that there is no break in time. It wears comfortable right out the box. Thank you for having this other color option in a guaranteed satisfactory boot available for me to purchase for my hard working man.

Ordered size 13 (my normal size) but they were a bit too big so returned for a 12. Returns to Wolverine were quick and easy. Size 12’s arrived and fit perfectly. Comfortable out of the box – great height for me as they are pretty quick on & off.

I have a small farm but also do some ‘city’ work and I wear them for both. I know a lot of products say “as comfortable in the coffee shop as on the slopes” or whatever, but these really are. Also love that they don’t have real deep treads so you don’t track mud and dirt everywhere you go.

I’d buy these again.

I like the boot overall and they were a good buy from Midwest Boot. Their service was great when someone finally answered the phone. The boots get more comfortable every day and easily break-in. I’m on a waitlist for similar style from Redwing which I may have liked slightly more although they’re supposed to be very tough to break in.

The owner of Redwing store and also online comments said this too. The Thorogoods are the roundest boots ever which are a little clumsy. The Thorogoods, have slight quality issues that I thought I’d be avoiding with American Made boots.

The lining of upper is canvas which isn’t as comfortable as leather. The canvas lining wasn’t perfectly smooth either on one creating some minor discomfort. In cowboy boots the Mexican made ones are generally inferior to American made for this reason and others.

The Mexican ones have manmade inserts too and better American ones just great leather soles which mold to the foot. American Boots like Lucchese always feel balanced while cheaper ones not so much perhaps because of inserts too.

My right Thorogood also leans in a little too and also had the manmade inserts.

I bought these boot 4 month’s ago. Having always had 6” lace-up work boots I was skeptical but wanted to give these a try. I usually wear a size 11, which is what I ordered without trying these on 1st.

Initially, when I tried them on I was very concerned. They were extremely tight fitting on the top of my foot, to the point where I almost gave up on them. When I say tight on the top, I mean really tight, although I could still wiggle my toes.

I tried thinner socks, which helped the top of my foot pain, but this made my heal slip a little. I then added an arch support in-sole underneath the stock in-sole which seemed to help the heal-slip.

After about 3-4 weeks the top of my foot started to feel better as the boots began to get broken in and the leather loosened up a bit. I then was able to go back to a thicker sock, which is what I prefer.

One thing worth noting about my experience is the top of foot pain was more pronounced when sitting, when there was hardly any weight on the amply cushioned stock in-sole. I usually spend about 1/2 my day sitting and 1/2 in the field so that probably prolonged the break-in period a bit.

Now that I’m 4-months in I couldn’t be happier with these boots, they are very comfortable. They seem durable too, the leather has been slashed by sharp objects a few times and they still stay dry in wet weather.

I do enjoy being able to slip them on in a few seconds rather then going through the whole lace-up routine, ain’t nobody got time for that! Also worth noting, I’m not sure of the cause but I never experienced any foot odor issues until wearing these boots.

It’s not outrageous or anything (I think) but is something to be aware of. Overall, a great work boot I would recommend to others, just don’t get discouraged while you’re breaking them in, it will be worth it in the end.

Excellent boot. Feels extremely durable and pretty comfortable right out of the box. Just be aware that this boot has a thicker insole than my other Georgia boots. This slight bit of extra padding causes the boot to be a bit more snug than other boots of the same size.

The insole is soft and I’m sure will mold to my foot with time in the boot. Just something to be aware of.

Bought these about a month ago and I am so glad I took the chance. I have been a Magnum Hi Tec customer for years but I decided to get these and wow!!! These are the best wearing, most comfortable straight from the box boots ever! No need to break them in, I put them on and went to work, they never hurt my feet! I will definitely purchase another pair!!.

First let me say, I have as flat feet as flat feet can get. With that being said, the insoles take a beating but they take it well. Secondly, I’ve had these boots for two years and as expected, the heel liner has torn and am gonna get it repaired.

But that’s to be expected since I’m a heavy equipment mechanic. The outer leather over the toes is torn, cut, etc. And they are still waterproof. Don’t listen to the pepe that bash these boots just because they are part of the few that just happened to get “the lemons”.

Manufacturing is never perfect. Love these boots and will never buy any other brand. I prefer these over Ariat any day.

I’ve been at the same job for over 20 yrs, These have held up the longest, almost a year. They are very comfortable, I can wear them all day without any issues I’m an aircraft mech, I do a lot of walking on concrete, scaffolding, walking up and down stairs, bending squatting crawling over concrete, metal and skid resistant surfaces.

Toes and soles take a beating. No problems with seams. Wear on toes can show up after a couple days of work. I also use boots for hunting, fishing, all around house work. Theses boots are priced the same as competition and are made of better quality materials.

I have not had a boot last longer then 3 months until these. I started ted wearing them as a gravedigger, dealing with water and dirt, they stood up for a year. Only thing that happened was the sole cracked in the middle, pushing a shovel down everyday was the cause, but the boot still held up for a year.

Now in construction again, electrical work, fourth pair, walking at least 4 miles a day, boots are still great after a year. Only thing that went bad was the shoe insert pad. I buy the boot insert for my low arch when i buy the boots new.

Love these boots! No foot pain, helps with lower back pain also. Sole is still good, wear is typical for my rough work conditions. Lasting longer then 12 months, well worth the price for me. I would spend more by buying new boots every three months.

And not having to go shopping is a big plus for me. I also like not lacing up, slip them on, and go to work. I also found that if i do not oil them, helped. Let them wear in naturally, stiff for a week, then I’m good.

Normal boots, they work. They are laced all the way to the top instead of having the lace hooks.

I bought these boots as a Christmas gift but decided to give them early. They are great winter work boots.

I bought these boots from my local retailer. I was very happy with the comfort and fit right out of the box. Not even 6 weeks of wear and the have already separated from the sole and are far from waterproof now.

Plus they are non-returnable and dan post wont even accept them since theyve been worn. Ill never buy another pair. Huge waste of money.

From the first day these boots have been comfortable. I have found the work boot that I will purchase till I retire. Thanks Dan Post for coming through for the working man.

Fit is perfect. I have a closet full of other boots that haven’t been worn since these arrived. Great everyday wear boot.

I replaced my 2 year old pair of keens that they discontinued for theses shouldve thrown these in the dumpster and kept my old ones. NOT WATER PROOF if you are taking a leak and dribble some on your toe your having yellow socks.

seriously they are more like a giant sponge than a water proof boot! The lacing system engineering is stupid after you have worn boot for a while it becomes next to impossible to get the lace under the first hook laces slide one way or another daily leaving you to re align them so one isn’t shorter than the other.

I wish i never had bought these overpriced pieces of crap and I will never buy keen again.

Great steel toe boot. Have another pair that I wear daily for work. It was very hard to find a comfortable fitting steel toe and many pair that I’ve tried have ended up in the trash. That’s why I bought this second pair.

The first consideration was made in the USA, second was comfort. This boot met both requirements. By the way, I have several other sets of Keen footwear. Best in the business.

Got these boots quicker than expected, they feel good. Of course like all shoe companies they changed the style. They don’t fit exactly like the old style but they still are comfortable. If you like a rugged boot these Keenes are tough, one good thing with the change they used to have cloth straps for laces they did change that for the better.

I bought my first pair of these and began wearing them January 1, 2019. They are comfortable from the get-go and seem to be durable. after almost 4 months, the inside fabric on the heel began tearing (this is a fairly high wear area, taking boots on and off, plus all the walking done).

once this part fails though, the boots become very uncomfortable as your heel is rubbing up against the seam of the leather. I contacted warranty replacement and they were happy to send me a new pair for free.

I thought maybe i got a defective pair. Started wearing my second identical pair in April and was more cautious when taking the boots on and off in order to possibly ward off the same issue. Here I am July, 2019 with the same exact defect happening again.

Once this area tears, it rapidly gets worse and it is difficult to get the boots off and on because your heel constantly catches on the bunched up area that has torn. I contacted warranty again (I am still within the 1 year on my FIRST purchase) but they said i could not get another replacement since the original boots were purchased through a 3rd party (i.

e. a store). they offered me 50% discount on any of their products but not really interested in getting 50% off on a pair of boots that will likely fail in 4 months. its a shame because the rest of the boot is in good shape.

The wedge soles are great for all kinds of work and so so so comfortable. The F&R waterproof can’t be beat. Check out all their styles! You’ll be glad you did. I have a pair that I’ve had since 2004!!! They still look like a week old at most and I hunt in, work in, and just wear them all the time.

Happy for several reasons. First, Georgia Boot was very good about helping me with returns. I found I needed to go half a size done for best fit and I messed up an order so I ended up with 2 exchanges before I got the right boot.

Second, I have wide foot, and a neuroma/nerve damage in my right foot that demands a boot with plenty of volume in the fore foot and this boot has that. Very comfortable. Finally, that flatter wedge sole is perfect in red rock territory.

I’m no longer tracking rock everywhere.

I am a mechanic and have had these boots for about two years now. got new insoles about a month ago because the original ones flattened out. my back used to hurt before i got these boots but does not anymore.

i’ve tried ariats to danners and have never found the one boot that has ever been comfortable to wear for long periods of time until i tried these. the “non slip” outsole really help when there is rogue spilled coolant or oil on the ground and the slip on feature helps when you need to climb inside a car in an awkward position really quick and just need to slip off the boots so you don’t get the car dirty.

i am buying the chelsea version of these to wear casually because these boots are just the best.
