20 Best Wool Sweaters For Men (2023 Updated)

I bought two of these sweaters for my husband as gifts. He has bought other brands as he likes the warmth of merino wool. The fit, weight and quality is perfect and by far this brand far exceeds other brands in every way.

Easy care is a plus. These can be worn any season. They also can be worn casually or for the office. Try them you will not be disappointed.

Excellent quality for this price. Couldn’t be happier. I am a woman’s S/M and ordered a Man’s Small It was a risk….but I love the fit over shirts and turtle-necks! Perfect!

Sweater is vg quality, sold in local Macy’s right now for $35. 00 on sale. Fit is true, zipper is vg quality,. Super value for a high quality product. All items I’ve purchased are same level of quality, price combination.

I’m not sure if this will make it up because it seems my last review didnt even though I followed all of the guidelines. I purchased one of these sweaters a few years ago – yes there is some pilling but I love it and get lots of compliments on the color.

Unfortunately my most recent order the colors were horrible. The yellow isn’t the color shown here, which is what it used to be, it is a horrible orange-brown. The red isnt a true red but instead an orange red – in the light it really shows orange.

Very frustrating. I wouldnt have ordered them if I’d know the colors are so misrepresented.

First off, I love this sweater so much I bought two of them. It?s warm, fits loose, and has great color. It?s scratchy wool but it?s really not that bad as I wear it in short sleeves most days. I?m a bigger guy and XXL is great.

Stays warm yet breathable. I?ve had it for maybe 2 months and one of them got caught on my dogs toenail. A thread came out and now it?s ripping across the chest. Maybe that?s just the territory for a wool sweater but I?m bummed it?s already torn.

However, I really dig it.

These are really well-made Shetland sweaters, with a nice wearable weight. The ribbed cuffs are fine worn as-is or turned up if needed and hold their shape. The collar is high enough to show some color of a tee worn underneath without being too large.

As one other reviewer write, the “golden copper” color is a much warmer sort of “pumpkin spice” or butternut (?!) color with more brown than yellow tones to it. Its really a nice earthy color. I am 5’8 and 180# and a size large fits fine, roomy but not oversized.

Says machine wash but it was ripped. Washed on delicate and it still tore. Highly suggest that this is washed by hand. We hang our more delicate clothes to dry so this was noticed after we washed it.

I didn’t even get to use it. Maybe I can make more tears and say it’s made by Kanye West.

The sweater is nice and slim fit. It’s a little too thin though, if it was thicker, it would get 5 stars. Unfortunately I had to return it because the brown color (warm brown) didn’t work with my husband skin tone.

So, when winter rolls in, I become very, very pedantic when it comes to style. I’m always wearing a jacket, snood or some other warm accessory so I really don’t care about my tops. What I’ve come to stand by is a really good merino sweater with Uniqlo heat tech or the like, holler 32 degrees from Costco lol, underneath.

This Quince merino sweater is vastly superior to the aforementioned brand’s merino sweater. The hand feel and weight are a step above and it’s cheaper than their normal price. I really love what Quince is offering here and have ordered multiple, only blue, sweaters so I can get my winter Steve Jobs vibe on.

Who wants to think about style when you got a great blue sweater to rotate everyday?! Only gripe, and drop of a ⭐ is, I wish they made the neck hole smaller. For both this and the cashmere sweater. Legit cut for The Rock’s fat neck and my doc hasn’t fulfilled my testosterone prescription yet!.

Im not gonna lie, I initially passed on Quince because I thought the price point was too good to be true, and ordered basically the same piece from Everlane. Their cashmere crew was super was scratchy so I returned it and got this one.

WOW. Not only is the Quince cashmere crew just the softest snuggly cashmere, its a little thicker too. A t-shirt or underlayer would have been needed under the Everlane sweater, but not this one. My boyfriend says that it is “too nice, and that he’s never going to wear it and only save it for meetings or interviews”.

I hope he gets over this as I really want to hug him in it. I was so pleased with the purchase, that I bought a woman’s cashmere sweatshirt, and a v-neck for Christmas gifts. and a zip up hoodie for myself (had to be done).

I am the proud owner of 3 Mongolian Cashmere Crew sweaters from Quince. I was prompted to write a review because not only am I delighted by all three, in black, navy blue and olive green, but I had a first class experience with Quince’s customer service.

When one of the sweaters arrived, I put it in a closet and wore it only one time. A year later, the fabric had deteriorated. Nothing else in the closet was damaged: no damp, no moths, etc. I hesitantly complained to Quince, and sent a photograph.

They responded immediately and replaced the sweater. It simply does not get better than that. Thank you, Quince!.

The fit is exceptional – slim, correct length sleeves, and body length. Club Room is Macys house brand and generally the clothes are of better than average quality.

I should not expect too much for the selling price, but had I seen it in a store, I would have passed. extremely thin material, that you can see right thru. Wear a dark shirt under it Can not comment on overall quality, as I haven’t worn the item, it will probably go in the bottom drawer.

I took a chance.

Good merino wool and modern cut. Quality construction that should hold up. Never been disappointed by Bloomingdale’s private label items. Would buy one in every color if I could.

It looks like it runs small but it’s a nice sweater. I like it.

I like it. The logo is nicely sized, perhaps a very very small amount larger or more clearly defined but that’s pers. pref. Only real gripe is the absurd care reqs. I mean I understand it’s wool, and wool does funny things, but who has time to let their clothes dry while “laying flat” after washing @ 30°c, then “stretch to recover shape” Why can’t nice things be wash and wear? Other than that, nice fit, nice price, if you are in to it go grab one and see for yourself.

Warn once. After 1 wash holes appeared in the material and was bobbled all over. Expensive for poor quality top . Disappointed as liked the look of it. Brought a hoodie from same brand and no issues!

Like most ALLSAINTS, it’s cut for a slimmer fit, and (especially in the arms) a wider gentleman might find this quite form-fitting, for better or worse. It’s also very thin material, making it a lightweight/transitional wardrobe choice (especially for wool), but it does require extra care.

Unless you’re going for a rather bold look, you’ll also want to wear something under it; as you can see in the picture, it’s a little translucent as a result of its thinness. Comfortable, but you’re definitely paying a premium for the brand.

Wanted to love this but man is it scratchy. Just received it in the mail today and as soon as I put it on I knew it wasn’t for me. As for the fit: I’m 6’4”, 235lbs with an athletic build and it is much shorter than expected and boxy.

Too bad. Really wanted to like this.

Patagonia truly is quality. I recently purchased the recycled wool sweater and the P-6 Logo uprisal hoody. I have only worn the sweater twice and I like it, looks great with a pair of jeans. The sweater runs true to size and you can tell it has been well made.

I can see more Patagonia in my wardrobe in the near future.

I bought this same sweater probably 30 years ago for my husband. Eventually he gave it to one of our sons for some reason I can’t remember. We got to talking about it in early December and he looked to see if it was still available.

Yes it was! I later ordered it for Christmas for him. It came. Same great quality! I bit scratchy as the original so had to dig out a mock t neck shirt to wear under it. These sweaters are warm, durable and beautiful.

Big statement but true. This sweater is a staple, a cornerstone of any classic, traditional American wardrobe. (Some call it “preppy. ”) I love that Bean not only brought it back, but it’s the real thing at 100% wool.

Hopefully no one tinkers with this and suddenly decides to source it anywhere but Norway. Wear it on the weekends, wear it business casual, sleep in it. It’s All-American, it’s fun, it’s gorgeous, you won’t miss the money.

The fit is true to size, and it actually looks better in person.

I have been wearing these sweaters forever. I have refreshed them over time, but I still have the “original. ” It is 20% Rayon. Gasp. So it lasted longer. The current all wool versions are softer to the touch, but they wear out at the elbows with truly regular use.

There is no substitute. Timeless. Classic. Warm. Comfortable. I recommend that one not go too small so as to accommodate layering. I have other authentic Norwegians from other sources, but this is my favorite.

Nice, form fitting sweater. It’s thin enough that I just wear it w/o an undershirt. Very comfortable. I wear a large and in terms of fit, I’m muscular/athletic (larger shoulders and arms) and it fits great.

I have a number of Barbour Sweaters, but all of them are a heavy knit, this Holden sweater is a lighter knit, ideal for layering, the additional Barbour tartan on the collar and arm patches sets it aside from the regular run of the mill half zips.

The “ military” Marl colour goes well with either Chinos or Jeans.

Really well made and nice design, I am a 41ins chest and the medium is a perfect fit.

Service was all good but the product itself has a snag in the sleeve which i assume is the reason why it was discounted. I’ll ok with this but would prefer this to be disclosed if it was known about.

If it wasn’t known about then I would expect a further discount should be applied.

I got the 1/4 zip for Xmas. Used it in an open water blind accessed by a small skiff, 2. 25 mi offshore in Pamlico Sound, NC on 28 Dec. Wind 25 gusting to 35, Temp 21 at daybreak, do the math. Yeah, it STOPPED the wind dead.

which was necessary and very good, or it may have been a serious problem. This is the bomb for ducking; can’t beat wool for warmth when wet, no wind pass through = warm +. Put a hood on this rascal and I’ll wear nothing else when ducking.

The only drawback I could find is it has a distinct and persistent chemical odor that’s hard to get rid of (noticeable by close companions). Its virtually un-washable according to the tag, (no dryclean, no machine, no dryer, wipe with damp cloth, use gentle detergent.

) Even after washing by hand it retained the chemical smell (noticed by a different hunter downwind), which makes it difficult for use in a deer stand. Fix this and its game on. ,.

This sweater is absolutely a must have. Great quality product. I have worn this for years in the duck blind, work, wherever. When it’s cold and windy, this sweater cuts the wind completely and keeps you warm.

I can’t stand wool against my skin but the design of the interior liner and fleece neck keep the wool feeling away while giving you that wool warmth on the outside. If you hunt or work in the cold weather, this sweater is a must have!.

Warmest sweater I,ve ever owned. Windblocker combined with wool does the trick. Great to layer under mid season jackets to extend them into the 20,s. Great as casual wear also in place of a jacket. Liked the first full zip so much I bought last winter that I got the 1/4 zip this year.

A lot better quality than the Beretta Swaeater I bought in the past and returned. Only thing the 1/4 zip needs is a kangaroo pocket up front and a cell phone pocket similar to a drake jacket.

This sweater is very warm and wind resistant. I bought 1 size bigger for shrinkage. Eventually I had to clean and I washed in cold water and hung until partially dry then wore dry. The arms receded past my wrists and the torso is now above the belt line.

I have never had this amount of shrinkage with other wool blend and 100% wool clothes. Worked great but restrict to dry cleaning only which is not convenient.

Received the sweater and it was a well made sweater with nice materials and pretty heavy. It was all the things I was looking for but the fit was a little off. I usually wear large in most things but the arms were way too long on this sweater.

Also, the shoulders did drop down quite a bit which is surprising because I have pretty broad shoulders. I needed up returning and bought a different sweater.

So far, I am loving this roll neck. Fells great to wear, very comfortable and seems really well made. Lovely colour and excellent fit, sits well across my shoulders and sleeve length is good. I am 6′ 2″ with a long back and I bought XL.

I also got a 15% discount when I ordered but would have bought without this.

Love the material and the tailoring. Quite difficult to get these on slim fit these days. It made so much sense. I want it again in black.

Jumper arrived next day. Was supprising at how soft and stylish it was. Very comfortable. Would recommend this product.

Soft as butter and fits perfectly. My teen was looking for a soft sweater. But being 6’5″ it’s tough for him to find long sleeves and long torso without having them be too wide. This sweater is great quality and he can’t wait for the cold weather.

Bought a pair of sweats, 2 pairs of pants, 2 shirts and a sweater. They all fit perfectly. Thrilled to have a sweater and shirts with sleeves that reach the wrists! Finally found a store that has fashionable clothes that are of excellent quality!.

Great quality and fit. The XTall was a little too long so I exchange for Tall. I have to be careful when I eat not to spill food on it. A very light color but nice. I need to slow down my eating habits.
