20 Best Wool Blanket For Bushcraft (2023 Updated)

Bought this as a wedding gift for my son and daughter-in-law in the queen size. They were going to Zion National Park for their honeymoon and I knew that he would love to have a Pendleton blanket. They both loved it! It was a perfect gift for their wedding that that they will have for many many many years to come! It seems to be really warm and I was surprised at how soft it was.

I was afraid that it would be rough or scratchy but feels very comfortable even next to the skin. I highly recommend this product! I also bought the leather carrier straps although I’m not sure that they’ll ever use them with this size blanket.

I wanted that to be an option 🙂 it was surprisingly softer than I expected, and I think that it will be comfortable against the skin. And the quality and weight was extraordinary. Very pleased.

I have made quilts for the past 40 years, but I have always wanted a good wool blanket to put between the sheet and quilt. I’ve had a few decent blends and near misses over the years but always hesitated over the price.

This is so perfect I feel foolish for having waited. The cozy factor is amazing, yet it isn’t sweaty, stifling, or even overly warm, and this from a woman with frequent hot flashes. I did buy it in king size for our high queen bed, so there is plenty to tuck in, roll over, pull up, and yes, kick off when my personal thermostat is out of whack.

I have never understood the concept of double/queen blankets, it is only a six inch difference but that means your blanket is six inches narrower, not a great situation in the winter. It is lovely, lofty, and very breathable.

I bought 2 eco-wise wool queen sized blankets in 2016 (one solid, one plaid). Love them. Changed up decor recently and bought a new one to match just in the last month. It appears to me there has been a substantial decrease in the quality of the item since 2016.

The new one feels thinner and less hefty, and light is more easily visible through it. I weighed it against my older blankets and it comes in at around a pound less. Felt slightly chillier at night, but it could be my expectations playing on me, knowing what I know.

I’m just dismayed I did not receive a product of the same quality that I had bought 5 years ago. I’m sure it is still a tough, durable blanket that can keep you warm. They just used to be better, but they’re still the same product code (70081) and same price.

I bought 2 classic merino wool blankets with some hesitation based on some of reviews. In addition, i was not sure if i like the idea to have it dry clean because they use same chemical with other people’s dirty clothes.

After many research online, I machine washed them using woolite extra delicate, cold water and gentle cycle. I hung them dry and even put them in dryer machine using air dry sensitive cycle just to make them completely dry.

It turned out soft, no shrinking, and clean the way I want it. I just use it today, it’s light, soft, but warm (not hot). How pure wool is incredibly good. I compare with my other comforter and will put them away.

I love these wool blankets but giving only four stars because I don’t like the fact they use polyester for the trim and the delicate stitches. Why not use pure cotton to match with the quality that the company is aiming for.

I bought this blanket a couple of years ago and it has been a marvel of comfort and beauty in our bedroom. I wanted this blanket for over a decade before finally buying it. I had read all about the advantages of wool over other fabrics for warmth in the Winter and heat wicking in the Summer.

Somehow this blanket does manage to be both. My husband and I are comfortable year around. In the Winter we keep our custom coverlet over our Pendleton blanket for extra warmth and in the Summer we use just a sheet and the blanket.

We redecorated our bedroom in cool colors a few years ago the blue blanket is just gorgeous against our white linens. We use the blanket with bamboo/spandex blend sheets which like the wool conforms to the body like a gentle embrace.

The combination is heavenly, but the blanket would feel wonderful with any high quality sheets. I never liked the feel of feather comforters because of the way they tend to tent and loft over the body.

This blanket is worth every penny and is made in the USA which makes me love it even more. After reading at length of the marvelous properties of wool my expectations for this mattress were so high, I knew it might be something of a let down.

Usually it is more fun to buy than to own but not so with this blanket. When I am forced to sleep without it I fluctuate between being too hot to too cold all night long. With this blanket, I am comfortable all night long.

If someone stole it from me today, I would order it again immediately. If you like the feeling of a comforter, then this might not be for you unless you need another layer for warmth but if you long for year round comfort this is your blanket.

I have purchased 2 of these blankets. Both blankets are queen size. One is on my queen bed. I love the fit. The other one is on a full size bed. The queen size blanket works very well on this full size bed.

The ivory and taupe color are beautiful. The blankets were purchased in 2018 and 2019. I love the feel of them, not too heavy and not too light. I am so happy with how warm they are during the cold Pennsylvania winters, but breathe without causing perspiration like polyester blankets.

It was a hard decision to purchase (definitely not inexpensive), but I am thankful and very happy for these beautiful blankets. To preserve the beautiful binding, I do not pull on the binding when making the bed but reach down on the wool surface and smooth the blanket in an upward motion.

This Eco-Wise wool blanket is great. It is warm and looks great. I really like it. I purchased from this website and and my card was charged twice within days of each other. When I called customer service they said, “Oh, yeah, this happens sometimes.

Don’t worry, right now they’re still pending but only one will appear on your statement. ” Oh really?!? Well, while it’s still “pending” I don’t have access to that cash until it is no longer pending (4-5 days), so excuse me if I do worry.

How about you stop charging people twice? I haven’t purchased anything from the website since and will probably think twice (get it? twice? just like them) before doing so.

I hesitated investing in a nice throw for myself, but I’m so glad I did! The wool is lightweight and not scratchy against my skin. I have bought their cotton throws as gifts and love them, so I wanted to try wool for all its benefits.

I haven’t yet washed it, but i’m not concerned about that as other reviewers say it’s fine. My NYC apt is freezing in the winter, and I finally feel cozy wrapped up in it. love that it’s long enough to cover me!.

I just received the Chief Joseph blanket that I purchased in Aqua (twin). I live in a 100-year old house that’s drafty, and wanted a wool blanket for my King size bed, instead of purchasing a comforter and a duvet cover.

I’m thrilled with the beautiful colors. They’re stunning! The wool isn’t scratchy, but soft. The photo on the order page doesn’t come close to showing what the blanket looks like in person. (I added a photo).

I’m very pleased with the quality of my blanket, it will last for decades. Though some reviewers say they don’t like the felt binding along the edge of the blanket, it doesn’t bother me. The binding looks good and is sewn on very well.

I love Pendleton blankets. I bought my husband one several years ago, and I puppy chewed holes in it. My husband was so disappointed. Ten years later, I am buying him another blanket since the puppy is no longer a puppy and chew on blankets.

We love the colors and the different patterns of the blankets. We also like how one side is different from the other side. The quality of the blanket is superb, and they last forever. It is a blanket that you could pass down to your children.

I’ve been wanting a Pendleton blanket for my entire adult life but have been dragging my feet due to the cost. I just purchased the chief Joseph blanket. If you are hesitating making this purchase don’t wait!! This blanket is amazing and I am completely in love with it.

We bought the Chicago city wool throw. It’s very nice and very warm in the way that wool is warm–very warm when it needs to be and breathable when it needs to be. It reminds us of living in Chicago–I think I can even make out the intersection we lived at on this throw! The two issues I have are: the wool is not as soft as the other Faribault’s I have and the throw is a bit too expensive for the less-soft wool.

It’s not to say that the wool isn’t soft–but I have two herringbone throws that are definitely softer and about the same price point. I still recommend the throw, especially if you’re from Chicago. Faribault should look at other large, cool weather cities and make city throws for all of them–would make a great business model–I request a commission if this happens.
