I have a 2900 sqaure foot home. 2 floors and this stove heats it no problem. Love the box size – HUGE! Things that could be improved – I had to use door as 2nd draft. I only close it tightly at night to retain coals.
Ash pan can only be used by pulling out and filling with shovel. Inside lid to remove ashes is useless with hot coals covering it. Door handle does not stay on. Only use it to shut tightly at night. Every wood stove is different.
Good price, heats well, hold coals so not restarting fire. My last wood stove was too small for my square footage and I did heat damage trying to heat. Not happening with this stove. Highly recommend if you have a 3000 square foot home to heat.
I recently was in the market for a new wood stove to heat my home. I own a contracting company and could purchase what ever I wanted so I enquired to several high end wood stove retailers. I found through an ad that Home Depot was selling the Englander NC-30 2400 sq foot wood stove.
Now because it was Home Depot, I was extremely cautious about purchasing anything from a large department store chain versus a high end professional wood stove retailer. I decided to research this Englander stove and discovered it offered the same options, specs, etc, that the high end $2000-$3500 wood stoves I was recently enquiring into.
At $1137. 00 I became very, very cautious. I decided to purchase the Englander thinking at that price, it was disposable, if I was not happy, I would discard or use the Englander stove in an ice fishing hut If I was wrong or unhappy with my purchase.
Now In Thunder Bay, where my construction company is located, its -48 below, we have had an incredibly cold, cold winter season. I purchased this stove and sent one of my staff members in one of my dump trucks, to pick myself up a dump truck load of cut, split birch wire wood.
I have installed this stove with an insurance approved double walled chimney system. I loaded this stove with the unseasoned, semi-green wet birch wood. The stove immediately burned this wood properly because of the totally controllable bottom, air draft lever.
This stove heats my 2500 sq foor home with zero issues, in fact, in you open the damper, its 28 degree’s in my home now. If your in the market for a new wood stove and do not purchase this stove at the incredibly low price of $1137.
00 your crazy. It competes or beats the other $3000 stoves I currently already own in my other building, garages etc. Simply put, its worth 3x the price that Home Depot charges you for it. Thank you, George Ward CEO/President of Ward Contracting.
First off, realize that this is a low-priced big stove. That means it will not be perfect, but if you need a constant large heat output at a low price, no stove will beat this one. It is rated by EPA as very clean burning, meaning it is efficient.
But you will need to keep the fire larger & hot to hit that mark. If you will be burning occasionally to take the chill off, or small fires, or burning unseasoned wood, this is prob not the stove for you.
This stove should be used like a furnace: once warmed up, keep the stove/chimney warm, fire/coals going all winter. Note how several reviews below mention the stove is difficult to start when cold. Several reasons for that.
Someone mentioned the firebrick was heavy & “not the ones that are mostly air. ” Lightweight firebrick is designed to INSULATE the fire so efficient operating temperature is reached very quickly. The heavy firebrick used in lower priced stoves is designed to ABSORB heat and reflect it back at the fire, so it needs time to WARM UP.
1)- In a cold stove, build a couple small HOT fires with kindling & smalls to warm both the firebrick & the chimney. Use a liquid fire-start to get hot from get-go. Open a window. If you want to burn occasionally, allowing the stove to cool between fires or want to burn smaller fires, replace the side firebricks with the lightweight “pumas” type and keep an inch of ash on the bottom.
2)- This stove does not have an air-boost system. So keep the door open a bit until fire is going well enough to sustain the secondaries. (Don’t leave the room!) This is also the reason why lots of coals are generated when draft is mostly closed for long burn times.
There is no system to get air from the front/center along the bottom of the stove. Lots of coals also indicate that the draft was closed too much. Many folks assume that long burn times R the goal, but that usually DEFEATS the purpose of efficient burning.
A smoldering fire is wasting wood-as-smoke-going-up-the-chimney and will result in excessive coals. Someone was complaining about smoke escaping even if U open the door very slowly. That’s not the stove’s fault; it’s usually a drafting issue.
Is your chimney clean? Is it properly sized for the stove? Did you make a couple small hot fires to first warm chimney to create good drafting? Why R U opening the door while the fire is burning? Learn how to build a fire with larger pieces at rear and smaller towards the front so the door will not need to be opened until the load is reduced to coals.
Use liquid fire-start to get a hot fire quickly in a cold stove. Drafting issues are common in newer well-sealed houses. Turn off dryer and bath fans. Crack a window. Install a fresh air supply. Negative air pressure pulling air down the chimney can also occur in poorly insulated homes.
Heat rises, and with large volumes of heat moving up through the floors ceiling and walls, air can be pulled down the chimney. The key in both sealed or leaky homes is to focus on getting and keeping that chimney warm.
If U have a masonry chimney, it can take several hours of hot burning before the chimney is sufficiently warm. Reline a masonry chimney with stainless steel for safety & efficiency. Outside chimneys should be enclosed in an insulated chase, esp in colder areas.
If you don’t want to spend a bunch of $$$ on chimney updates, then realize that your chimney also needs “feeding,” so run the stove hotter. Realize that a stove is only one half of the equation. Successful wood burning requires a proper and happy chimney as well as a firebox.

I purchased a wood stove from tractor supply from “us stove”. I have owned it just over 3 years and it has been used approximately 50 times in total. A few days ago my husband went to load it with wood so we could enjoy a nice fire and we found 2 large cracks on either side of the front entrance of the stove.
One of the cracks is so bad that you can see through into the stove! We contacted “us stove” only to be told that it was out of warranty. We were also told that we could have it welded on our own dollar.
What it boils down to is the company sells low quality stoves that are not well made and are fire hazards. I am in contact with my attorney and the BBB and despite the fact that it was out of warranty, it is still a quality issue.
The stove was poorly made and now is a fire hazard. This company is a joke. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF.
I bought this stove at Tractor Supply while it was on sale. So far I am very impressed with this stove, especially for the price I paid. When I get the stove going, I do not have to use my main heating system and the temperature in my 1900 square foot home built in 1971 rises.
The stove is more efficient than I had imagined. I would say the negative side of this stove would be the door seal. It does work, but it does take some getting used to. It adjusts by threading the handle in and out and if you don’t have it in the right position it is either too tight or too loose.
I have since figured it out and it works great. I overall, I would highly recommend this stove for someone who is getting into using a wood burner. I imagine I will be using this for the next 10 years easily.
It is an item that is well priced and does what is expected of it and that is more and more uncommon these days.

Stove works great (1800 model) and I have had and used many different stoves over the years. When buying a wood stove, make sure it has air control and damping control like this unitIf not, all your heat will go up the pipe and outside not in the room (very important) and will burn wood way too fast.
Very tempting to buy a big large older stove that someone has put a new coat of paint on only to find all your heat goes out the pipe. Just trying to help someone who may not be experienced with wood burners.
The 1800 model is a good medium size stove that works. If your area is larger than 1800sq ft, go bigger but get one with the air and draft control features. Now go have fun with your chainsaw!.
Positive: Long burn time (after fixing airflow – see Negative). Easy to start a fire Fuel efficient Attractive appearance Neutral: Ash removal is a little clunky using the removal brick to slide ashes into.
Negative: The secondary air flow is too large for good fire control in the middle of the US. The secondary air is so high that even when the primary air is closed completely, a good hardwood load on a cold night will “run away”, getting the stove too hot.
Another effect of this is that the wood is always burned up by morning, making for a cold house. Try searching for “Florida Bungalow Syndrome” for an article on why this happens. My fix was to use some steel wool in the secondary air flow flowpath, getting the stove to where it is still burning exhaust gas but not so much that the stove overheats.
The other common solution is to install a damper in the flue. The quality of the build is a little hit and miss. The primary damper was not fully tightened during stove assembly at the factory, resulting in essentially no control at all of the fire (that was a simple fix once the offending bolts were located).
The wood burning stove we received arrived fast and the cost was about what we wanted to spend hence the 3 stars. Several bricks from inside the stove arrived broken. Very surprised that they were just loosely placed in there and even more surprised the glass on the door survived as when we opened the door of the stove, the bricks were a jumbled broken mess.
the box it arrived in was beat up and barely on the stove. Several dents and scratches through out the stove. Too much of a hassle to send back so we’ll just have to make due. Will not buy from company again though.
sorry. haven’t installed yet so can’t comment on function.

The Logger Wood Stove from Robens is great for those looking for an alternative to gas stoves. As you burn twigs and sticks, there is no need to worry about fuel or running out of gas. As long as there is wood around, you will be able to boil some water or cook up a warm meal.
It is lightweight and compact which makes it ideal for lightweight backpacking and anyone concerned about weight. It can also be used with an alcohol burner if you wanted but this is not included with the item.
Double combustion minimizes smoke and increases efficiency. Another positive side effect is that the high efficiency makes it even easier to start the fire. Toaks offers the Backpacking Wood Stove, a lightweight titanium set that can be stowed inside each other to save weight and space.
For better organization and to keep everything together that belongs together, a nylon bag in Signal Orange is included.
Picked this up to go with my 750mL and 1100mL pots and titanium silverware set. The stove nests perfectly inside the 750 while the 750 fits perfect inside the 1100. To have all of this fit nicely within each other is such a bonus! I should be trying it out this weekend, but I already know it’s going to work out great.

12 or greater. It must extend beneath heater, and to the front/side/rear as indicated. In Canada, required floor protection must be 18″ (450mm) in front and 8″ (200mm) on all other sides of the appliance.
This stove is massive. fits perfectly in my kitchen. I need to heat my house and may as well cook at the same time. So far I have braised beef in the oven. I made potato leek soup, omelets and fried egg on the cook top.
Managing temperature is a matter of draft and size of firewood, but, I am beginning to understand the dynamic. I am very pleased with the cooking. I was worried that the fire box barely holds 3 big logs for overnight burning.
Each morning my house is warm and I have had hot coals in the firebox. I am hopeful that it will keep my house warm when the winter arrives. So far I think it will heat will and meet my needs, heating about 1800 sq ft through the coldest nights.
Great and Worthy experience. This company certainly deserves its excellent reputation! I am very pleased. With very few fireplace stores, we had concerns about finding a competent and trustworthy fireplace.
Things were smooth from the initial inquiry to the purchase.
I finally found the store that will give me 5 stars customer service and it is FLAME AUTHORITY! The guy I spoke to over the phone explained to me the things that I need to know before I order this unit.
I cannot wait to put reviews because I am very satisfied with their customer service. We have received the unit just today and no damage. Hoping that it will last longer!.

This stove easily heats my 700 sq ft basement which includes a bedroom and bathroom. Very efficient considering the amount of wood burned and heat produced. Maintaining a low burn provides plenty of heat for this area.
Stoked up for an overnight burn and burning damped fully down, I still had coals in the morning about 8 hours later to rekindle with. Based on a few nights of use, it kept the entire basement plenty warm (low to mid 70s F) with outside temps around 15 degrees F for about 6 hours before it began to slowly cool down and drop into the upper 60s.
By then it was morning (about 8 hours later) and time to rekindle with the remaining coals. Running it in the day with the stairway door open, it will heat the upstairs as well (700 sq ft, 2 bedrooms and bathroom) so long as a steady medium burn is maintained throughout the day.
I haven’t attempted to heat the upstairs overnight. It would probably be chilly in the bedrooms (low-mid 60s) as the stove cools during the last few hours. I have another slightly larger stove (designed to heat 1200-1800 sq ft) for the rest of my home (1950 sq ft).
Running both at a low to medium burn (based on position of damper) I have no trouble heating the entire 3350 sq ft (maintaining low-mid 70s) when outdoor conditions are teens/twenties F. As with any small stove, the only limitation for this one is having a long overnight burn.
Even stoked with white oak, you’re looking at 5-7 hours before it’s going to begin cooling off; however, if you’re there to feed it, it is capable of heating 1500-2000 sq ft unless your floor plan is prohibitive to air flow.
A ceiling fan in reverse, if in the same room as the stove, does a great job of mixing and circulating the air. It will pull cold air off the floor, push it down the walls, and across the stove. Cold air from other rooms (with doors open) will be drawn towards the room with the stove helping to heat the whole home.
I bought this one week ago and I’m disappointed that I did. I was replacing my 18 year old wood stove of another brand. The description of this stove matched my old one in size and heating range. I figured 4 people gave this stove 4 stars and some great reviews, sounds like the stove for me.
I like the style of the stove and that the bricks were already installed ready to go, and I really like the size of the opening to put logs in, much easier than my old stove. That’s why I gave the stove 2 stars.
But the main reason I bought the stove was to heat my home. The damper control does not seem to have any affect on the fire in the stove, it’s like it’s open all the time. So my fire burns hot and fasts every time.
I go to put another log on the fire and it’s already burned out, no coals left to relight another log, just ashes. I’m lucky if the fire will burn for 3 hours.
We had that stove professionally installed and it works like a charm!! We used it all winter as our main heating source and even at -40C of Sk cold weather it was super cozy in the house. I didn’t have any issue with the smoke coming out.
And the only time the door is open is to add a couple logs!! You have to keep to front window clear of creosote (might be called something else). I used water and vinegar with a paper towel. works perfectly to keep that clear view of the fire!!.

This review is divided into two sections, the body of the stove and the door of the stove. The body of the stove gets five stars easily, great design and great welds. The door however only receives three stars mainly because of the poor assembly.
The hinges on the body and the hinges on the door did not match. The locknuts holding the hinges together were installed backwards, and the gasket was not thick enough. All these problems were easily repaired and I now have a great little stove.
This stove does not come with a pipe collar. You have to order it separately (not sold at Home Depot) in order to hook the stove up to pipes (enabling you to use the stove). It is a bit strange and inconvenient that this stove is manufactured without a collar, and that Home Depot does not stock this item.
We purchased this stove to heat a small day cabin in the country – It arrived quickly, and is well made, easy to assemble, attractive on its stable legs and burns very well. The flat top is big enough for a water kettle or stew pot, and the dapper on the sealed door work well to adjust the burn.
It would be 5 stars (for the price and quality) EXCEPT – it is almost impossible to get 4″ wood stove pipe fittings in Canada – and USA options are very expensive and over kill for such a small, supplemental stove.
After much looking and buying and sending back various products which claimed to fit a wood stove, we ended up purchasing a 4-6″ (expensive) adapter so we could use 6″ pipe – not our preferred choice.
If they can address the 4″ pipe supply issue, this is a great little stove.
US Stove Company Wood Stove with Legs features a cast iron feed door with large 15. 5″ x 8″ (39. 4 x 20. 3 cm) ceramic glass window so you can enjoy the view as well as the heat, Blower sold separately, Replaces previous defender wood stove model, Adjustable legs base and built-in ash drawer, Heats up to 1,200 sq.
ft. with 68,000 BTUs, Burns several hours on one fueling so you wake up warm without fetching wood all night, Accepts logs up to 18″ (45. 7 cm) length, Meets all 2020 EPA guidelines while burning cordwood.
Well it will be a while until I employ it now, but from what I can see, I like it. I kind of wanted the other model with the more modern styling, but this encases a more classic look, and the base it stands on is much wider that the more modern one, and there is more airflow beneath it as well, so if I can surround it with classical ambience, it will have a real good aesthetic effect.
I hope it works good. I am sure it will. Now for the mechanical permit, and all the piping I need. It did arrive with a few rust spots on the top surface, but I am going to have to learn to fix those little things by and by anyway, so no big complaint with that.
This is more than adequate for my 870 sq ft house that I will block off to about 670 square feet. So I will just burn according to comfort. I have a concrete block brick chimney with a 6 inch square route inside, so the 6 inch pipe should go hand and hand with this.
I hope I did not buy too big of one, but people burn smaller all the time just the take the chill off in cool weather, and it can also reach about 12 degrees below here in Spokane WA, and I have seen it with a wind chill, so this stove will never be inadequate, and the smaller ones do not have a matching 6 inch outlet like this, so this will fit better, and this one was actually cheaper than the smaller ones, except for the real dinks.
Good price for a solidly built basic wood stove. Although compact in size, the stove generates plenty of heat using little firewood. I purchased the optional blower, and I would recommend others do so as well.
The blower is quiet yet fairly powerful. I would have given the stove Five Stars, except it arrived missing the damper rod leaving no way to regulate the burn. It was well within my expertise to fabricate a duplicate rather than fight for a replacement.
The stove arrived in otherwise perfect condition, but I have to say the shipping crate was questionable at best. Being cheaply constructed, it suffered considerable damage from factory to my location.
Delivery from Tractor Supply was fantastic with the trucking company providing literally minute by minute updates on the day of receipt. Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase, and would certainly recommend this stove to others who are interested in a well functioning, efficient stove without all the decorative additions that result in a much higher price from competitors.
The good; It’s cheap. It is made of solid metal. It does get hot. The bad; It is poorly made. Given that the thing weighs 200 pounds and is stuck in my house now, I wish I’d bought a better one. The stove shipped with a broken door hinge and a stuck airflow control lever; these are fixable but customer service has been abysmal, I’ve been waiting on replacements for a month and have called and emailed must be 10 times now, promises to process replacements but with no actual shipping.
Possibly my broken air control, but it has nowhere near the burn times advertised. The seal isn’t great either, again, may be my broken door hinge. I’ve basically not been using it.

This item shipped earlier than expected. This thing is a beast and we love it! We installed it the beginning of November and our furnace has not gone on since! Even through the night, the lowest temp the house came to was 63 degrees F.
This wood stove is a dream to use and can last for hours without restoring. The company is very accommodating and we had no problems. I would highly recommend this company and stove!.
I thrilled with my new drolet escape 2100. Factorypure was great to work with. Friendly customer service and they had the best price. The stove came crated very well and had no damage from shipping. I’ve had bad luck with freight in the past so I was very excited about how well it was packaged.
It took a while to get here but that’s just the world we’re living in right now. Would buy from factorypure again without hesitation!.
Replaced the Timber ridge stove I bought from Canadian tire with this Drolet. 100% better. DO NOT BUY A TIMBER RIDGE !! It smoked into my house no matter what I did and fell apart after couple months of intermittent use.
The Drolet is way better and I have had no issues so far with same set up as other garbage stove.
While this stove looks pretty, it really doesn’t take 20 inch logs due to the way the airflow is. They hage to be placed in vertical, and block the air and it takes a long time to ignite once you pack it for the night.
It needs to be fed every 3 or or hours also, which is not ideal. I wouldn’t trust this in our home as a sole heat, as we intended to use. The heating of 2101 sq ft is not accurate, as it struggles to heat our space of under 1900 sq ft.
This stove has also begun to peel and rust on the top after 3 weeks of use, so we will not be recommending it nor buying one like this again.
We purchased this stove about 6 weeks ago and love it. We have had about 4-5 fires each week since then, and can’t get over how easy it is to use. We have it in our downstairs rec-room and its more than adequate at heating that space (24′ x 22′ room).
Gives off great heat, is easy to load and light, and the glass window gives a great view of the fire. Overall, would definitely recommend this stove.
The Nectre N60 is beautifully compact but yet powerful enough to heat around 140 m2 of living area. With its high efficiency rating and modest heat output, the Nectre N60 is a welcome addition to your living space.
N60 is finished in black metallic paint and comes with steel door with ceramic glass and a stainless steel handle. Steel baffle with steel brick retainer and firebrick lining to improve thermal mass.
Fortunately, our installer approved the installation of this fireplace. Better read the manuals and specs to make sure you have the required clearance to install the unit. It is very nice and easy to use.
The wood stove for cabin is a great addition to any cabin. It is small, efficient and can heat up a space quickly. It is also relatively easy to install and use. The main downside of the wood stove for cabin is that it can be a bit smoky when first used, but this should dissipate after a few minutes.
Overall, the wood stove for cabin is a great option for anyone looking for an efficient and easy to use heating option for their cabin.
