is very good. I use it to clean surfaces where I cannot wipe with a damp cloth. because the surface would take on another appearance when it comes into contact with water. later, to preserve the durability of my furniture.

With this product I clean doors and everything made of wood or similar. It’s an oily substance that gives my doors a shiny finish, and the best part is that it smells like orange. my doors are very old and look new.

I have used Tung Oil purchased from Real Milk Paint Co. since fall 2008. I use it on Greenland kayak paddles made from Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Cedar, Spruce, and Pine. From the raw wood, it takes 5 coats to get a glossy, hard, waterproof coating.

The technique is to wipe with a paper towel after coating, then leave in the bright sun. for at least 15 minutes each side. Reciting is needed after three or more months of paddling (approximately 300 miles of [paddling, at the least).

Paddling is in both fresh and salt water. I note a change in the product over the years. Initially, one 2008, I could leave a thicker coat on the paddle when putting it in the sun to cure. It would still harden and not be sticky.

But over the years, it got to where I had to wipe off the excess oil or it would stay tacky. Also, back in 2008, I could go to 7 or more coats, just to make it look nicer. doing that now causes tackiness.

This is with light sanding between coats with 320 paper. I expect this has to do with the environmental factors where the trees grow, as the produce is pure. This is not a problem, just a curiosity. Some Greenland kayakers recommend other types of oil.

I have not tried anything else, since all of the other types a mixtures containing some toxic products, are more complicated to apply, and are not as easily removed when it is time to refinish.

We are waiting to add three more coats and a 30 day cure time, so the tone in the photos will darken and get more consistent, if I can judge by a window-seat we did earlier. I am thrilled to have found the citrus solvent and tung oil finish for our 125 year old white oak (with lots of curly wood grain boards) at Milk Paint.

The product they offer here (tung oil) was used thousands of years ago but is a real breakthrough now for those of us who have had to live with toxic products and meh results for years. Our old floors are pretty now and will be gorgeous when finished.

Application could not be easier. We used brushes for doors and then two Dollar Store sponge mops and two buckets and brushes (and then skating around on the floor with old socks on -haha).

I bought this to clean and polish church pews that have been badly scratched over the last 25 years. The pews are stained dark, but the raw wood is very light, probably pine. Even the deepest scratches have darkened with the orange oil — not perfect but only stripping and refinishing would be better.

For the price and a little work, this can’t be beat.

So far I have only used orange oil on two small projects, but it is a lovely, gentle stain that only adds a small amount of darkening to the wood. I’ll definitely keep it in my stain cupboard. Stan Scott.

I have a large collection of Hopi Katchina Dolls, all are wood and some very delicate. I won’t use anything but pure orange oil on them, and General Finishes make the best that I have ever used!!

I have high hopes for this Tung oil. I have an antique sewing machine that was my grandmother’s and I tried it on the bottom of a drawer. I have before and after photos and I’m impressed with the result.

It’s supposed to penetrate and protect the wood. You can add additional layers after each one dries for a glossier effect. I think this would be great for older pieces or wood that has dried and needs to be rejuvenated.

You can either wipe it on with the grain or brush it on. If you use a brush it will need to be cleaned with mineral spirits. I simply wiped with the grain using a microfiber cloth similar to applying a stain.

I’m very excited to complete the sewing machine and use on a few other heirloom pieces I have. I think they’ll look newer and I love the added protection. It does state that you can reapply on down the road as necessary as the wood will absorb the oil.

I have a beautiful teak outdoor table that has been starting to look worn and I applied two coats of Miniwax Tung oil finish to it and and couldn’t be happier!! The oil penetrated quickly into the wood and it looks and feels like it now has a waterproof finish to it.

It was nice that the wood didnt darken when I applied the oil to the table. The table actually has a few stains on it and the Tung oil basically made them disappear! The table looks brand new even though it probably about 10 years old! The Miniwax Tung oil was very easy to apply, the smell was not offensive and cleanup was a breeze.

Minwax Tung Oil Finish is the best you can buy for your projects. I recently used it on a 180 year old rocking chair after stripping multiple coats of paint from and cleaning. By applying over 15 coats and lightly sanding between each, the chair looks as if it was just created.

With proper preparation and following the directions, the product will provide the best quality end result possible. Clean up is easy with mineral spirits. There is minimal odor, though all tung oil has an odor, but wood workers and restoration people like me enjoy it.

I highly recommend Minwax Tung Oil for a lasting protective finish on your wood projects.

I used this oil to restore some high end electric and acoustic guitars. It is awesome on fret/fingerboards and wooden acoustic bridges. Just a quick rub first with 0000 steel wool then rub this oil on with a clean cloth.

Brings out all the beautiful figuring in the wood. Prevents cracking from over-dry air regions that dehydrate the wood too much. Must have product for nice wood.

I absolutely love this product. It brought back an old wooden stool and table back to life and looking sharp. I would highly recommend this lemon oil. I love the fact that the maker has thought of putting a tiny hole for the oil to come out.

I ordered this Tung oil to use in refinishing a couple of old walnut rifle stocks (1932 and 1934). Preparation and patience is the key to success in using this product. Initial coats should be thinned and sanding/steel wool used between coats with adequate drying time allowed between coats.

Also, thin coats should be applied with adequate drying time allowed for between coats. The later coats which have little or no thinner will take longer to dry. At this point I am quite pleased with how the finish is coming along and look forward to the final product.

I was looking for a polish that left a hard, shiny and non-stick finish, even slippery. I wanted one that I could use and then do work on with papers and not have the papers stick to it but easily slide on it.

And this polish does all that. For me it is almost ideal scene. But, for me it has one negative, which to me is important: It has too strong of a scent. I would have preferred unscented entirely, but I just could not find a good unscented polish that also did all the above.

I did find one unscented polish, Heirloom, and it was OK really. But I actually prefer the finish that I get from this Old English spray. But again, the scent is what keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating.

If Old English had an unscented product, hey, then we’d be in Fat City.

Small container but goes a long way. Used it for some old oak kitchen cabinets that had some deep scratches. It covers up most of the scratches though deep gashes were still slightly visible. The color seems to match perfectly as long as it is dark wood in tone.

Recommend using gloves as it can stain your hands. The smell was not overwhelming which was great for sensitive noses like mine!.

Upon applying I noticed a petroleum odor, not a lemon scent. I polished my dining room table and chairs. They looked lovely. The next morning, all pieces were dull and cloudy. I spoke with Cedric who said to use a white vinegar and water solution.

After wiping each piece, again, my furniture was okay. I called back to ask for reimbursement but Jessica told me they could only send me a coupon for the same product. No thanks!.

It is simple but elegant. I care for it by using Old English Lemon Oil. I lay it on thick with a cloth, and the wood drinks it in. I’ve been doing this for 20 years. I wouldn’t use anything else.

I use my husband’s old t-shirts to wipe off the oil and another t-shirt to buff. The sheen stays on for months and all I do is remove the dust with a duster. This works for me. It has really gone up in price and the bottle is a smaller size.

I used it to treat a wooden front proch. Process was a good power-wash and a couple of coats of Ronseal Wood Preserver before using the furniture wood oil as a sealer and finisher. Worked well into the wood using a cloth.

Easy to use and happy with the results.

Less like an oil than I expected. More like a stain. This is reinforced by the fact that brushes can be cleaned in water. An oil based product would presumably require a spirit to clean up? I applied by brush rather than a cloth (cloth recommended) but it saved a lot of time and I would recommend brush application to be honest because of this.

On the whole the final colour of the “natural teak” and general appearance of the finish are very pleasing and I would recommend it on the whole. Only time will tell how good it is in the longer term.

I use this on the inside of all my acoustic guitars , a part that mostly gets neglected and is really dry. I use a very small bottle about 2 inches long that has a very fine mist and stick my hand “with the spray bottle” inside the guitar body and lightly mist the inside being careful not too saturate the wood.

From my experience,it doesn’t affect the glue on the bindings and it makes the sound richer , deeper, and higher at the same time it increases the sustain also. I love this product, too me it’s the best wood conditioner.

We restore historic homes and MinWax is our go-to brand for returning old woodwork to it’s former beauty. Our most recent project using MinWax Antique Oil finish was to restore moisture and shine to a 100+ year old staircase.

We didn’t want to change the rich color, so we gently removed dirt build up first and then hand rubbed the finish into the wood paneling, stair rails and newel posts. The wood was thirsty so we used three coats as well as some spot touch ups to assure a smooth even finish.

The end result was beautiful. It kept all the character of the rich walnut wood while adding shine and smoothness. This is a product that is easy to use – you don’t need to be a professional to use it to restore antique woodwork or furniture.

I stumbled across this product online while looking for Minwax’s navy blue wood stain. I began reading the reviews and noticed almost all, if not all, reviews were 5 stars. I had to order some and try it.

I tried it on a shelf made of stained poplar and the result was beautiful. I also tried it on a piece of unstained pine. On the bare pine it left a bit more of a shine. The oil soaks in and layer after layer it leaves a hint of luster, but not as much as polyurethane.

The stained poplar I used it on basically maintained a bare wood look, and feel, after a few layers. And I absolutely love it! Can hardly wait to apply it to other projects. This product needs to be advertised more than it is.

I had to dig around on the site to locate it and read about it. It’s a GREAT oil finish! If you haven’t tried it yet, try it!.

I attended a woodturning class at Ernie Conover’s shop several years ago and he had us use this as a final finish on our bowls. I loved the way it went on and buffing it our over several days was pure joy.

Being able to handle and buff the bowl that I had just turned renewed my excitement of the turning process. I have since used this oil finish on most of my turnings and now on refinishing a large antique butcher block that became “gummy” on the top surface.

Stripping the top finish and sanding it to 220 before applying the finish did the trick. The finish matches the sides and the low soft velvet luster matches the character of the butcher block nicely.

Hopes TUNG oil is excellent for cedar wood. You do not need a lot. It really brings out beautifully the cedar wood colors! NOTE: Once applied leave it for 24 hours

This type mineral oil is recommended to seal and preserve natural woods such as bamboo in cutting boards. Wood cutting boards are preferred over plastic or glass materials which dull knife blades more quickly.

Moderately priced, easy to apply. Palm of hand works well.

Being an avid cook, I cook almost every meal I eat. I have 4 bamboo wood cutting boards which I use all the time. I usually wet sand and re-oil them somewhere about every two months. I have been using Howard’s oil for a while now.

I like how light and clean it feels and looks. It doesn’t seem like you’re using industrial type oil, like some other brands do. What I usually do is first wet sand the boards completely smooth, especially removing all the knife marks.

I let them dry in the dish rack for a few hours. I then apply the oil generously with a soft cloth, then let them sit in a dish rack overnight to dry. I wash the boards off with dish soap, let them dry again, then they’re ready to use.

There is no after taste on the food at all. My boards are in great shape, especially the board I use for cooked meats, which has a nice patina. I would highly recommend Howard mineral oil for cutting boards and other related uses!.

LOVE this oil for preserving and conditioning my cutting board. Another reviewer stated that it’s JUST mineral oil and she bought plain mineral oil somewhere else for cheaper. do your own research – not all mineral oils are food-grade and meant for human consumption.

Although the product in the picture here says “furniture polish”, the product I ordered, received, and am writing this review on is “wood polish. ” I don’t know if there’s any difference, of if they’ve changed the name or what, but I first discovered Howard’s Orange Oil Wood Polish a couple of years ago at Menard’s.

It was back with the butcher block oils and woodworking products. I have an old house with nice wood floors throughout. The people who lived here before us had had some sort of clear finish put on the wood kitchen floor, which was starting to peel off.

She admitted she wished they’d never done it. She said it needed to be refinished, but under the peeling finish, the wood floor looked great, just dry. I don’t believe in waxing floors — I like the grain and natural wear to show in my wood floors.

So I started spraying Scott’s Liquid Gold on the floors, because I noticed that not only did it look great where the finish had peeled off, but it nourished the wood and made it look really rich. The only bad part was that the product left a greasy, slick residue.

But over the 25 years we’ve lived here, I kept applying it once a month or so, using a dustmop afterwards. Eventually, the peeling finish disappeared, and I was left with a lovely, rich-looking wood floor.

Then I discovered the Howard’s Orange Oil. I put it down, and lo and behold — no greasy, slick residue. It just soaked in and looked wonderful. I finally convinced my cleaning lady to use it on all the wood floors.

She does two rooms a month, and then starts over. She really argued with me at first, saying the floors would be greasy and slick and these products were never meant for floors. Now she’s convinced that this works great.

If your floors have a shiny, waxed finish on them, this probably don’t work for you for this purpose. But if you have good old natural wood floors, this product is PERFECT! Only problem, it’s expensive to use for this purpose if you buy it at the store.

The best oil to use on fine wood antiques. It gets absorbed, leaves no sticky surface, and smells wonderful without being overpowering.

I have used this product for years in my vintage loudspeaker restoration work. It is excellent.

We are extremely pleased how well this wax restored the color and shine to all our wood furniture, wood blinds, and kitchen cabinets. We used on everything from 110-year-old Amish buffet furniture, to a 30-year old grandfather clock, faded wooden slat blinds, stairway handrails, and 5 year old table tops and kitchen cabinets.

It spreads far, the bottle covers a lot of area, and we have only used half the 16 oz bottle. Be sure to shake the bottle before the first use, until it becomes liquified like shampoo thickness, because the wax may ‘set-up’ when sitting on the store shelf.

It is real oily and greasy when putting on. Let it set for a full hour to really absorb into the surface, then wipe to blend in the oil and shine. We used a white tee-shirt to apply the wax, and a microfiber rag to wipe it off after an hour.

The wax adds a soft “eggshell” shine to the wood. Very pleased, and recommend it.

Shopping online with Walmart is quick, easy, and dependable; you can be sure the item is available when you are notified it is available for pickup. The products, usually shipped to the store for free, are quality items.

I highly recommend shopping using their online ordering system. The Feed-N-Wax appears to be a good product; it is a very thick consistency that is easily applied. I m not sure why they recommend a 20-minute wait time before buffing but I follow the instructions.

I normally use a lemon oil on wood products and could find no difference in either the application or end results. To me, the wood looked exactly the same using either product. Lemon oil is easier to use but leaves a “residue” that need to be absorbed into the wood; Feed-N-Wax leaves no residue once you buff the wood 20 minutes after application.
