These Deck Plus self drilling exterior screws, with a lifetime guarantee no less, are very good fasteners. I have gone through about half of a box while framing an extension to my shop. I use them in places where I need higher fastening strength than a nail, and where I need fastening for temporary purposes.

They grab, tap and pull down extremely well, and make a tight connection very quickly. When used for temporary fastening, they back out well and are in good enough shape to use again. They have a star drive type flat head that makes for positive engagement.

If enough care is used to make sure the bit is properly into the head of the screw, there is no slippage or stripping of the screw head. Each box even comes with a quality bit! I see nothing to not like about these screws as far as the way they work!.

I am a huge fan of these screws. They don’t break when I torque the screws down. Meaning that my crew can move faster when using them. Drive the screw in until they hear the clicks and move on. Further, it’s cheaper to order in bulk here than to get them off the shelf at Lowe’s or Home Depot.

I literally spent around $700 in screws at Decks Direct. Saving 2 – 5 cents a screw adds up.

These deck screwsx are great because they blend with most lumber very well. You can see what you are getting through the window on the box, which is helpful. The box comes with a free drill bit. You do not need to pre drill with these, so they are quick to install.

I have not had any issues with them and am satisfied with how my wood project turned out.

The board deck is good, trucks are also good, however the bushings could be better. These are very soft, when when you tighten them the nut sticks out too much. The wheels are a good size but they are too firm, should be little softer.

You can really feel the hard plastic wheels land on the ground every time you ollie. The bearings come within a rating of 7 abec and it does say on them, however they do NOT spin as they should, very slow.

They are very rough and the skater has to push very hard. Perhaps I just got a bad batch of bearings. I would go for something a little better next time, something smoother and more balanced.

I bought one of these in a sporting goods store for myself, I’m very happy with this as my first board. Overall I would say the board feels “sturdy”, it has a bit of heft to it but glides smoothly and is easy to turn.

I didn’t do any adjustments to the trucks or wheels out of the packaging. I like the feel of it especially as a beginner, just staying on the board is hard enough early on so I don’t think I’d like a “slippery” feeling board.

The tail has stood up fairly well to me accidentally grinding it against the pavement several times, it’s a bit shaved but no indications of it snapping. The body and sides are solid, they’ve stood up to me floundering and stomping on them quite a bit.

There is one spot between the screws for one of the trucks where the grip tape has eroded quite a bit, but I haven’t noticed any loss of control due to that. The wheels still look great albeit being dirty, no large pits or chunks missing from them.

I have a feeling the grip tape may need to be replaced after 2-3 months of heavy use, and the board may not be a lifer, but the trucks I really like on this board and can see moving to the next deck if I someday snap this one.

I loved the board! It was the right length, the grip tape was very good and the wheels spun so that’s already pretty good. You could use it right out the box if you’re a beginner to skateboarding and want to use your board immediately.

But coming from someone who has experience with skateboarding I want to point out that the wheels were definitely swapped out for better ones. They were pretty basic wheels but they didn’t ride smooth for me and I had a hard time getting the speed I wanted to perform certain tricks.

I also loosened the trucks so I had better movement as they were pretty stiff. I mainly bought this board so I could customize the deck but not spend a whole lot of money on the additional pieces I would need to buy if I had bought the deck seperate.

But, overall, for a beginner board it’s pretty good! Definitely recommend if you don’t want to spend the typical $100 because you’re starting out :).

The box arrived timely today and soon thereafter it was on the floor looking pretty. As with most instructions nowadays, the user has to figure out some things such as which end of the holding units to insert at the bottom corners (the one without the rim).

It took an extra ten minutes to hold the pieces together before installing the lid but with patience, it can be done. When I thought all was in place, the opposite end became separated. No problem, I raised the lid, stuck my head in, gave it a dirty look, re-inserted the parts, pressed them together, and that did it.

It will go in the porch tomorrow with yard stuff and hoses. Keter. com does not have it in their website.

I really like this waterproof deck box. It’s the perfect size for keeping packages from view while not being noticeable on my front porch. The grip when the lid is closed is strong enough to withstand strong winds, and it’s attractive in appearance.

My mailman loves that there’s now a place where he can leave shipments of my meds that he knows is safe.

The star drive really torques down without stripping. They really do pre-drill themselves into most wood. They don’t bleed. The threading really bites hard into wood and really joins two pieces of wood tightly.

The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is I have had these things snap when I drilled into hardwood without pre-drilling. I have found that once you start screwing them in to hardwood then don’t stop. If you want to drive it just a little deeper they snap off.

Because these screws grip so well it is hard to get a broken thread out. If you are constructing with softwoods such as redwood then you will never notice this problem. Once you learn to avoid snapping the screws then you will never want anything else.

These are heavy duty easy to drive fully functional exterior Grade screws that also happen to be pretty e when hanging items that work better if the head is exposed. I leave the head up a little instead of countersinking them.

They look like little flowers. I ran out, and discovered my local Ace store was the only place I could find them. Not even all Ace stores have them. So having them available on Tryit is terrific. The color is not true brass or bronze but I’ve used them for both and find the color very complimentary.

We use the longer ones for heavier duty jobs. Exelent calidad.

I had some pressure treated railings on my deck that had poorly affixed balusters. They were attached using very thin nails and came off easily. I used these screws to firmly attach the balusters. It was a little bit of overkill, but I never have to worry about them disconnecting, and creating a dangerous gap in the fence.

So far these have held up great, and have shown no signs of rusting. I am also a huge proponent of the star drive. There is basically zero risk of stripping the head, and these things go in very easily in pressure treated wood.

After reading many reviews, we decided to purchase the 12×20 Beaumont pergola for the far side of our pool area. It is the perfect addition and finishes the space beautifully serving as a separation between the pool area and backyard “fun.

” The pergola is real wood and very heavy (when putting together). My husband and I (ages 52 and 46) did it together with help from our 17 year old son when lifting. It took us some time (a full Saturday), but that included organizing the pieces before starting.

We also worked slowly as I wanted to be sure we were doing it correctly to eliminate the need to undo and redo something – which would be a lot of work. We chose to paint our pergola (Turkish Coffee by Sherman Williams) to match our Tudor home as the natural stain the wood comes in was too light for our surrounding decor.

We also strung lights and added curtains for comfort. This space is a favorite – even amongst the teenagers! We only put our pergola up a few weeks ago, but it’s heavy, solid and obviously high quality.

I would highly recommend this particular pergola (12×20 Beaumont). Side note, the delivery was easy and the product arrived sooner than we expected. It comes in 4 large (heavy) boxes.

I’ll admit a little slow becoming a pergola advocate. With the Texas sun, I do want a little more protection when cooking outside than these things natively offer. This 12×20 monster replaces a pair of 10×13 canopies.

The wind has blown here more this year than in the past 60 years. My cheap canopies didn’t stand a chance. The vibration from the wind loosened half the screws and both simply collapsed. And they acted like sails before collapsing.

The family joke was me getting everyone to help move them back into place at family gatherings. This baby is over 700 lbs and rated for 100 mph winds. I cannot imagine it moving for some wimpy 40 mph breeze.

I need to conjure up some Sun/rain protection, but I am beyond thrilled with it. I ordered the installation when I purchased the pergola. A precise date/time was set for the installation from emails they were coming from Back Yard Discovery.

However, when the installers arrived without the pergola at the appointed hour, I realized there was a disconnect somewhere. The pergola magically arrived Friday before the 4th of July weekend. I called the installers back and darned if they didn’t come Saturday morning to install this thing.

They just left. Other than signing their paperwork, I actually haven’t goner over it closely yet. But the installers were punctual, polite, and very, very efficient. This is the summer for backyard projects that I have anticipated for a long time.

This pergola is key to housing my entire outside cooking world and to have it dine in time for the 4th of July makes me very happy. Thanks to everyone involved!.

We are very happy with this purchase except a couple small items. Instructions were very good. One thing I noticed is that the instructions from the BILT app are a little backwards compared to the printed instructions.

One would have a board right side up and the other would have it right side down. Fine, as long as you stick to one set of directions. Everything lined up very nicely except for a couple corbels and most of the 2×2’s on top.

I would say that only 25% of the 2×2 holes lined up, but not sure if there is a way to improve that. Most of the lumber was surprisingly straight except for the 2x2s, especially the posts!.

I bought this item (in store) recently and thanks to a good friend was able to make a lot of progress in assembling. I had seen the comments and reviews here that indicated that assembly of this Pergola is basically a two person job.

I can confirm that is the case and that you will also want to take your time to sort through the pieces and go slowly so you don’t have to (hopefully) disassemble and reassemble parts. Even if you do take your time though poor identification/labeling of the various parts will likely mean you will have to work around issues or wind up do the dis- and reassemble dance.

To explain – the parts have stamped identification numbers on the ends. Yay. What they lack though is good solid indicators of which way parts should be oriented. There are multiple parts, such as the corner posts, that should be oriented with an eye towards “inside” and “outside” so that the posts face each other as they should and more so that the pilot holes that were drilled in the posts are where they are supposed to be.

If you miss this orientation you’ll wind up having to drill holes in the pieces (posts as an example) because the pre-drilled pilot holes are on the wrong side of the posts. The pictures that are in the instructions and the written instructions don’t at all make clear this issue so you are left not knowing of this until you are much further along and chances that you’ll want to deal with the required rearranging of the parts (after you disassemble and reassemble) are not very high.

Similarly, the beams that you assemble for the length across the top area have predrilled pilot holes that are meant to allow you to easily screw (lag bolt) the rafters down. If you didn’t know in advance to look for those pilot holes and make sure you orient the beams properly you’ll find that you will need to drill new pilot holes and may have a tougher time getting the parts aligned and spaced out as they should be.

Myself and my friend were lucky enough to get one side right so we could use the spacing from that side to get things closer to correct but then I was left having to mark what should have been the bottom of the opposing beam with marks where the pilot holes were (which were at that point on the bottom of the beam).

Buyers also need to be aware that this item comes in 10 foot length boxes. That may confuse buyers because the longest length for this Pergola is 14 foot. This is accomplished by having the pieces overlap/butt up against other pieces in strategic spots.

(For example, where you see the curved arch supports coming up from the posts to the beams). This is also done for the boards that run across the length of the top. Those come in two parts (some of the other parts come as 3 parts that are joined together) and are joined pretty much in the middle, one angle cut meeting another angle cut.

Assembling those pieces can be a little tedious but at least the pieces are smaller and lighter for handling during most of the time you are working with them. In the end, I’m happy with this item, though will be a bit frustrated with needing to oil/stain and seal it to protect it.

The delivery was on the exact date and time as arranged. Good start. The cardboard wrapping around the product (there were two long boxes) was heavy duty thereby protecting the product from shipping damage.

There was no damage. That wonderful smell of fresh cedar permeated the room so I new the product was of good exterior quality. When we opened the boxes, it looked like some sort of AI (artificial intelligence) had packed them.

A work of art in itself. I began to realize that this pergola package might be of high quality after inspecting the hardware. It was heavy and of high quality, individually labeled and it was all there.

There were also paper instructions concerning the assembly which were reasonable but a hair intimidating. But fear not. Here’s the part that blew my mind. They include software by BILT intelligent instructions which you can download on your phone or iPad that show you step by step in a CAD format each step of the way.

The pergola turned out fabulously.

Happy as a clam with our pergola, got it up in one day with help from a friend. Did my homework on the “Chinese Cedar” (C. Lanceolata) and which settled my concerns about longevity compared to western red cedar.

Granted, I wouldn’t mind having the wrc but wanted a kit and, quite frankly, those were w-a-y more expensive. And yes, there are cons, but not enough to offset my overall elation with the look. Pros: • Looks great! Absolutely love the color of the stain! • Lightweight pieces, very easy to handle • Installation not too terribly difficult and for ‘most part’ was hiccup-free • The electrical is rather nifty; not high tech, but nifty nonetheless.

Cons: • Not at all a fan of the post bases, not enough meat to make me feel comfortable with anything more than a breeze. Recommend purchasing stronger ones, such as Ozco 54208 Laredo (Amazon) or similar from Simpson.

• Very high # of pcs, made pre-sealing a real pain. I get why they do it that way but, still a pain. • Instructions were okay but could have been a little more spelled out. Found a couple of vids online but none showed the level of detail I wanted and omitted some very important aspects.

We actually messed up and installed our posts facing wrong direction, but with some crazy ingenious luck, I was able to make it work so you’d never know it. • Yes, a number of the perlins and 1-2 of the beams were bowed but pulled out when fastening, for the most part at least.

• The touchup pen was a joke – don’t use it, will actually look worse. Instead, ask mfr to send you a small can of matching stain (they’ll do for free) right after you purchase and before you get – you’re going to need it.

Tips/Suggestions: • As much of a pain as it was with the really high number of pieces, I still very much recommend sealing in the comfort of your garage. We put a min of 3 coats on every surface, 4-5 coats on the up-facing pieces.

We brushed on Polycrylic satin and are very happy with the results. Sawhorses for finishing, and various 2×4’s (or similar) on the concrete for drying. • Take your time during installation and pay attention, as you surely don’t want to get that puppy standing only then to find out you did something wrong.

Voice of experience ; ) • Purchase decorative, structural post bases as mentioned above. We are also crazy happy with the decorative screens we purchased – they really “made” the whole thing! (Freedom Sprig from Lowes) • See the nifty brace I installed – and stained to match : ) – from which to hang my plug-in outdoor ceiling fan (Lowes).

I also put a small piece of plywood atop the center to hopefully prevent melting of the shade cover (purchased elsewhere) due to heat rising from our fire pit table. • Contractor’s coming next week to install code-approved electrical since you’re not supposed to bury extension cords, nor are you supposed to leave them plugged in for long durations.

Am still going to leave what came with the pergola on there for greater flexibility though.

Great board for riding around on, and a great price too. Love the artwork, and it was very nicely packaged when it arrived. The trucks and bushings are nice, and I really didn’t need to adjust them out of the box, they weren’t that stiff.

It might be because it is still new, but I can go pretty fast on this with minimal effort. Handles rocks and sidewalk cracks decently. My only problem with this board is the width, and that might just be personal preference.

Width on this deck is 7. 75, which is a bit smaller than I am use to. I wear a size 9 women’s shoe and usually ride something more wide than this, and it took a little time to adjust. I’d say as long as this isn’t your first board, and you are use to riding a 7.

75 wide deck, you should consider getting this for the price point. I also wouldn’t recommend for beginners. The rise is pretty high and it might be difficult to learn how to balance on. If you have been skating forever though, you will have no problem with this.

I am learning to skateboard so I purchased this with an Arbor Dropship longboard. I liked having two styles to try and being able offer to a board for my 12 year old try if she decided she was interested (she was a little nervous to learn at first).

Well, I am now down to one board for myself and need to save up for my own pocket cruiser. My kid lost all hesitation after the first day we went out. She is already practicing tricks! Love the design (which will promptly gain character).

The board itself is very lightweight, but tough (typical bamboo). The ride is smooth and fast and the trucks are responsive. It is a smooth ride, but the smaller size makes it work well for tricks. We both love it, and I am glad I bought it for us to learn on.

I’ll be 46 years old in a couple of weeks. I grew up on skateboards but hadn’t been on a board since around 2008 and wanted to get something to cruise around on that would be smooth and stable. I had tossed around the idea of a long board.

I was actually looking for an old Dogtown Skates Bulldog but they don’t make them anymore and cost a mint if you find one. In my search the Arbor Oso popped up and I was pretty sure this was exactly what I was looking for! I couldn’t believe that Arbor was founded in 1995 because I started skating around 1988 & had never heard of the company.

(I do live on the east coast far away from Venice, Beach). Once I looked into the company I was really impressed with their ethos. So I ordered an Artist Collection Oso and waited eagerly for it to arrive.

I took my Oso out today for the first time. Like I said I’ve been off of a skateboard for 12 years. The first couple kicks were a little shaky but then experience & muscle memory took over. The Arbor Oso is everything I love about boards from the heyday of Powell Peralta with some modern twists & improvements.

It’s a nice wide deck at 10″ and at 30″ long it’s an inch shorter than my old Element popsicle board. I still have an OG Mike McGill that I’ve had since my teens. I compared my Oso to the McGill and was stoked that the Oso, with the 169mm Paris Truck Co trucks had a wider track than my the old Powell.

Stability! The Oso also has a longer wheelbase than most modern boards. I am also very pleased with the nice and wide 69mm/78a Arbor Bogart wheels with ABEC 5 bearings. Today I just wanted to get warmed up so I found an empty parking lot and just carved up a bunch of lines all over the blacktop.

I was so impressed with how I could make nice front and backside carves and the board felt planted and handled like a dream! I included a picture of my Oso next to my old popsicle shaped board for a good size comparison.

Great setup for the price. Room for upgrades as needed. Core trucks are solid and the TGM wheels have a cool graphic.

The boards wicked, shame I can’t do it justice yet.

Bought this to appease my wife 🙂 I was more into a gazebo for shade, but turns out wife was right (of course). While still allowing sunlight, it adds a sense of designated space and makes our boring concrete patio usable.

We added string lights as well as motion sensor lights (for our little dog at night) using the included all weather power strip. By no means am I a carpenter, but a friend and I put this together in an afternoon.

We also stained the wood a cedar color to better suit our style, as well as protect it from sun, rain and weather. An outdoor table, rug, and seating makes it the perfect area to hang out. Couldn’t be happier with our purchase! Definitely recommend adding this to your backyard space.

We are very pleased with this purchase. It is very sturdy, the fit and finish of the parts are very good, and the assembly instructions are clearly written. Was very pleasantly surprised to find the nuts and bolts to be coated to prevent rust, were grouped in individual packages clearly labeled to match the instructions, and each type of nut and bolt was provided with a spare or two in case one was lost during assembly.

Most of the assembly can be done by one person, but there is one step that is recommended for two people but really needs a third person to hold one of the legs steady for 5 minutes. I actually found assembling this kit to be fun.

Purchased this pergola and couldn’t be happier. Plenty of features that make our backyard area much better. Multiple power outlets power our outdoor lights as well as motion sensor lights (coyotes in our area).

Also has a great option for charging phones with the included stand. Gives our boring concrete pad some defined area, and somewhere that the family can hang out at all times of the day and night. Relatively simple to build – longest time expenditure was the small diameter pieces that make up the top.

This table far exceeds the high expectations I had when purchasing it. I wanted it to use in the backyard under an ancient Southern Magnolia on a small area of pavers where I enjoy early morning hours surrounded by the sounds and sights of songbirds and the other delights of nature.

I also do my writing there. I prefer a wood table, but my first reaction on seeing and feeling this one was that it was too beautiful to leave outside in the elements. I decided to use it anyway and am very glad I did.

I believe it will age well. The Brazilian Eucalyptus wood is the densest, hardest wood I have ever encountered. It doesn’t absorb spills: I accidentally bumped the table while trying to level my chair on a rough surface and spilled most of a cup of hot coffee on the table.

A paper towel dried it right up with no absorption or stain. I live in a humid climate, but the table always feels and looks dry. Even the debris from the tree doesn’t seem to cause any damage but, rather, wipes right up or off.

And the smooth feel of the wood to the hand is wonderful. The table came boxed and was too big for me to unpack by myself, but my husband had no trouble with unpacking and setup. No assembly required.

I have been using other Keter deck boxes and I thought they have same or similar design, so I DID NOT physically check out the display unit at the store before buying it, that was a big mistake. I have other Keter deck boxes, they were 100% spider proof and the one I had even has hidden wheels, that was such good design.

This one? I didn’t expect wheels but it has huge gaps at the top under the lid and also holes on the sides, it is rainproof but not spider proof. You can argue and defend it’s for ventilation but my old deck box didn’t need that.

The top plastic lid is not as hard as the other model such as Keter Brushwood, it’s not as sturdy. Do a comparison side by side with Brushwood and you will see the difference. When you sit on it (150 lb person) you can feel the plastic sinks.

The worst part is, when the deck box is placed directly under the sun for couple of hours, the lid doesn’t close properly anymore and it is fine again when the temperature drops at night. The plastic is so badly made and sensitive to heat.

Overall, it does the job of storing my patios cushions but it ruins the Keter name I had in mind. Absolutely 1 star, DO NOT BUY. It’s so bad that I am thinking selling it on Kijiji.

I’ll give it two stars because it looks alright and it is HUGE! But the front, back and bottom pieces are very flimsy and it’s construction isn’t very good. If you pick it up by a corner or even one side it’ll torque and twist.

Even without anything inside! The weight limit is less than I expected too. It’s over 5 ft long but can only hold 75 lbs?!? I’ll probably keep it because it would be a pain to return it but I wish I spent a little more for a better one.

It seems like Suncast makes better stuff but that’s just based on my experience. Those panels were fully closed on both sides and much more solid. Better construction too. It might be good for lightweight stuff like cushions but I won’t be able to pile in pots, hoses, fertilizer, bug killer etc.

it would fall apart! Especially if I tried to move it. Only buy this if you only need to store light weight stuff and don’t plan on moving it. I guess it was cheaper than other boxes. You get what you pay for?.

We did a lot of research and measuring before choosing this unit, looking both online and in several different stores. Canadian Tire had excellent inventory at several stores, the XL was on sale, plus we received $20 bonus Canadian Tire money.

The box was carefully packed, and all the parts were labelled. Instructions were excellent. Assembly was straightforward. All the parts were carefully machined. We’re really happy with the unit itself.

All our cushions and pillows fit perfectly and are easy to remove and return after use. The springs that hold the top up and also keep it closed work beautifully: when open, the top stays open; when closed, all our cushions and pillows stay clean and dry.

I found this to be an excellent, high-value product. I was able to install by myself into an exiting deck over the course of 2 days with a step stool. Here are my comments on installation: (1) manual is quite good – the very first step is a bit confusing for those not experienced with installing bolts – that could be improved with another diagram.

(2) wood pieces are all labelled, and hardware identified on the bag (3) If you have a drill, you won’t have a problem with the innumerable screws. However, if you are an average purchaser you won’t have an easy way to tighten the many hex bolts and lag screws.

I think Yardistry should include a socket for those bolts. (4) installing the trellises requires lots of repetitive measuring. I anticipated that by cutting two pieces of wood the length of those intervals, and used the wood pieces instead of a measuring tape to locate the pieces – saved me tons of time and awkward measuring on the step stool.

Worth suggesting in the installation manual, or including two small pieces of wood to help the installer. (5) I’ve seen a couple of comments here about wanting a cover of some kind. I ordered one from coversandall, a US company, with grommets in it, and it worked great, and was relatively inexpensive.

I attached the cover to the trellis top using hook and eye hooks. All in all a wonderful experience. hope this helps! DHT.

This is the most beautiful item in my back yard. I purchased the pergola after being trapped in the house for over a year and many hours spent on Pinterest. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive as I had it delivered to the house.

On delivery day, I was so excited. It arrived in three boxes and I slowly unloaded and took piece by piece into the back yard to build. I couldn’t find anyone to build it as all contractors in TX have been busy since the winter storm, so I decided to build it myself (49 year old self proclaimed handy woman).

As long as you follow the directions, it’s a breeze. It took two weeks, but I decided to take my time with this one. I also painted and stained it a nice chocolate color. My husband helped me stand up the assemblies, but other than that, it really can be a one person job.

I hung curtains from it am waiting on the sun sail to be delivered. It looks absolutely amazing and is the perfect addition to the garden. It is sturdy, easy to assemble and looks way more than it cost.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to make their back yard more like a sanctuary like I did. Thank you Yardistry.

I just received the pergola few days ago, and upon opening the package I was pretty disappointed with the poor wood finish of most of the pieces. Maybe I expected too much for the so called “pre-stained” lumber, but the wood surface is rough and looks completely untreated, and the colors of some connecting pieces are noticeably lighter/darker than the others.

I thought I could just cope with it by sanding and re-staining the whole thing, then it comes the beam assembly. the cut of the most connecting pieces are unique that they don’t align properly when put together.

I tried so hard to mix and match the 20+ pieces to get a better assembly but still ended up with many of beam assemblies in a bad shape. If it is only few pieces, I would think they are just defective parts, but then having so many of them makes me worried if it is a quality issue.

I really hope I could just return this 300+lbs product during Covid, but most likely I will have to sand, stain, and wait another few weeks for replacement parts hoping they are not defective.

Great shape and pop. Durable. I would rather the element sign be at the tail but iss no matter. Great wood used. Nice blue top ply so if you use grizzly tape with the bear cutout or any other types or jobs that expose the top ply u get to see a beautiful ply.

Not much more to say. Its an element and this one is as classy as they come.

Nothing bad to say about it, just wasn’t for me. I prefer deep concave and I would consider it to be flat( it’s not ) Element is still a great company that makes quality products. I especially like their flat bars??.
