This is not your high-end, super fancy bow. However, it is a complete setup. You will NOT have to spend more money for a string stop, balancer, sight, quiver or arrow rest, which could easily add another $200-$500 to a purchase.

This bow is surprisingly well balanced, full featured, and highly adjustable for pull lengths and pull weights. It can be set for young learners or for the monster that wants to put arrows through targets.

Alexander (Irmo Store) is knowledgeable with the setup, and fine tuning. Great buying experience. Great package that won’t break your bank account.

Was looking for a starter bow and noticed the 320 from Diamond. Thought it would be a great deal due to its adjustability. I was wrong however, this bow does not adjust its full specs. I took it to multiple shops and the most we could get out of it was a 30” draw and 67lbs.

Me being 6’3 was banking on that draw length adjustment to 31”. Customer service had no solutions to the problem. Even after all the adjustments the bow was ridiculously loud after the shot due to the polymer spacers between the riser and limbs.

It was probably 5 times as loud as any bow at the range. This is a great bow for kids or a wife but not meant to be a serious bow. Very disappointed in Diamond and how cheap it is made and not meeting the listed specs.

How on earth did I manage without this? Perfect bows every time! Would suggest purchase a small pencil case to keep posts in as it makes it tricky getting board in and out of supplied bag with posts in their storage holes!.

I Love my New Zutter Bow it All V3. 0 it has a lot more sizes of bows to make. My only problem is the holes on the side of mine are a little to large, my pegs fall out. But in all reality I just Love it.

I also have the previous version, but V 3. 0 is my baby.

I have watched a few you tube videos using the bow maker. This works great for making craft bows but not so much for hair bows.

This was the first bow, that I bought in a long time. It fits the arrows nicely. It also shoots nice and there’s no hard pool. And it’s easily fits in small space. It is Light weight it’s not heavy weighted and it’s not confusing like the other bows.

it doesn’t have all those gears and things you have to watch out for. I would highly recommend this bow if this is your first time or if you are looking to upgrade for the kids.

I have been using several of these for years on a public trial course at fairs. each gets used for literally 200-300 shots on any given day. They take great abuse and keep on going. They have outlasted much pricier bows and many many strings.

We got our kids some of the Bear Archery beginners bows from Academy, We enrolled them in beginners lessons and they asked me to get a bow to go out in the yard and practice with them. I had been researching bows to upgrade for them and came across the PSE Snake.

I was surprised to see that it worked well for myself and my 9 yo twins. I am able to get some zip on it and they were able to get their arrows on target.

Always wanted to make my own bow. This bow is nearly ready to go as shipped. It needs to be sanded and the bow tip nocks smoothed to protect the string. I’m not sure why the description says a bow stringer is not included.

Mine came with a paracord which is used in stringing and unstringing the bow. There are two nocking points on the top limb – the one closest to the tip is used to string the bow. This is a very safe setup and works well.

I was anxious about the bow tips so I glued extra pieces of wood to build up the tips so I could have deeper grooves for the string loops to ride in. The grip was already shaped/rounded and would work fine for someone used to shooting with a very low wrist.

It wasn’t comfortable for me so I augmented it with another piece of wood to achieve a medium grip. This is proving difficult because the flat area left after the rounding performed by the builder is not very wide.

I wasn’t willing to remove material to enlarge the flat area – not wanting to create a weak point. Still working on this. The bow shoots well. It is very quiet. I made a longer string and have a brace height of 7 1/2″.

I am feeling a decent amount of hand shock but that is what I expected from a straight longbow. I was glad to see the bow was as nearly finished as it was and it made me feel comfortable completing the project.

It is higher quality than I was expecting and is perfect for a first timer. I would recommend this product for anyone.

This was a great kit and a pretty good introduction to bow making. My one complaint is that the nocks were really poorly cut. They weren’t uniform in depth angle or placement. I backed them with teak-wood tips and re-cutting the groves with a small round file.

They are fine now. The string requires serving. I stained the bow first then, followed with eight coats of linseed oil and three coats of polyurethane. I rubbed it down with steel wool after each coat was almost dry.

I put a leather grip on it and baseball stitched it with synthetic sinew. (This was easy; I followed the instruction in the Three Rivers video. ) The sanding and shaping was easy enough, took me about 4 hours.

I worked slowly and carefully down to a fine sand paper and use a block, and a piece of broomstick to wrap the sand paper around for the curves. The bow was already tillered (as advertised) but just to learn how to do, it, I built a tiller stick and a “tiller gizmo” (another Three Rivers Video) and refined the tiler just a bit.

I shot two dozen arrows from about 15 yards and it was as accurate as my skills will allow (a bit bigger than the tennis ball I use as a target). I bought the 40# bow but it feels heavier than my 45# Montana.

It was quite fast and lively. There was a lot of string shock, but I haven’t messed around with the brace height yet with the string untwisted it is at 7″ but I’ll increase that a little and see what happens) I bought beaver hair silencers to put it, but this bow is really quiet, I don’t see any reason to install the silencers.

The limbs took a set of about two inches after being strung for a while. The stringer is just a piece of paracord but it works just fine. I thoroughly enjoyed this project and will definitely order another.

This took some of the mystery out of bow making and gave me confidence to take on more advance bow projects.

The bow is in good physical condition. no sanding even required. no indentations. no blemishes. With regard to the Pull Weight, using a digital scale, with confirming comparisons, this 30 lb. s pull Rated bow at 26″ has an Actual pull of 44 lbs.

At 23″ the Pull Weight measures, & confirms, to be 36. 5 lb. s. I purchased it knowing there was no warranty; however, it is reasonable to say that I doubt that 3 Rivers wants to be shipping any bows with that much disparity, warranted or non-warranted.

Maybe if I keep the bow forever strung it’ll will weaken some over time :- )?.

I just purchased the centrepoint aspen and completely amazed at the quality and performance. I am used to using a one piece recurve (Bear Grissly) that I had purchased in 1977. I used that bow for ages until I had to retire it.

I recently decided to get back into archery and researched bows for several weeks. I knew I wanted to stay with recurves but I really liked what I was reading about take down bows. It took me only a few minutes to get the bow ready for shooting.

I was very impressed with how smooth the bow drew and how quiet it was. I very much recommend this bow for intermediate archers. One small point. The finger tab sucks so get a good glove separately. I also purchased a separate arrow rest.

I bought this bow for my son’s birthday. It looks great and went together nicely. We have yet to use it as the string was missing. There doesn’t seem to be a size for the string anywhere (packaging, online, etc.

). Does anyone know what size of string to get? We are looking forward to using it.

Well pleased with this Bow, well made, very accurate. Had a small defect on the Handle riser below the grip, smaller than my fingernail, but great buy for the money. The shipping is a little slow, but with what’s going on in this country right now, it is understandable, have made several other purchases from Sportsman’s guide and am pleased with the quality of the products.

Will continue Purchasing as needed.

I had a friend purchase this bow in exchange for a new Bear Approach bow which I had purchased to hunt. Unfortunately, I was unable to use the Bear bow because the draw weight was too heavy for me to pull.

A friend agreed to purchase this Gen X bow because he had bought one for his daughter, she loved it. When he gave me this Gen X bow, I could see it was much longer than my Bear. Allegedly this bow is good for hunting, but the length is going to make it difficult while up in a tree, and I do not like the way it fits my hand.

I’m very upset because customer service will not take the bow back, so I’ll have to eat the cost. I’ll never buy a product site unseen, or word of mouth from a friend, lesson learned! I feel this bow is more of a competition shooting bow, not hunting.

Great starting bow. It is very durable and has been with me my entire archery journey thus far. My only complaint is that the string is starting to whether a little but I have been using it for a long time.

No string is indestructible. I never had a moment where I shot and the problem was my bow. This is super crucial as archers already have enough to worry about.

Order bow as a gift on line. It’s too heavy for my wife (arthritis) but it is also not returnable. Nothing noted on the product page about no return policy. I was told this info is in the return policy information page.

First off, I didnt buy this bow from 3R – I got it used from a private party. Mine is 50# but I probably pull a lil more at my draw of about 29. 5″. I own a samick discovery in 50# as well and while it is a fast shooter and accurate as hell, I still prefer my montana.

Does it vibrate? Yes. Is is sort of a lobber? Yes. But it is a longbow with maple limbs. I have shot longbow most of my life so these things are nothing to me but they may be a disappointment to someone coming from another platform.

EASY to dial in, i can achieve pretty much nail driving accuracy anywhere from 30-70yards with a 500spine or 400spine arrow. wood feels the best off the shelf with this bow but for durability and consistency sake i usually shoot carbons.

I pack this bow with me for a week at a time when i pack up and head out to the job, and I am never sorry to have it with me. Shooting almost daily in high winds, heavy rain, and cold conditions here in PNW does not really phase it.

I use paracord string silencers and a cat whisker below it and it is whisper quiet. surf wax on the string because i usually dont have beeswax lol and the string is fine. it is not the TRASH bear string however.

the grip is trash, take it off. Now, when I say it is not really phased by foul weather, damp, and cold, i dont mean it is impervious. I will say that if I am just getting dumped on for an extended period of time and cant find cover, i do notice a slower shot.

But that is my fault not the bow’s. probably my string being wet, and the feathers being soaked doesnt help anything, but when the weather is dry, it will shoot like normal again. I have not experienced any of the quality issues I have read about in finish and such, fingers crossed.

But those will be my fault not the bow’s at this point. Bottom line, if you want a fast shooting “longbow” dont get this bow. It is plenty powerful, but there are others out there that will send em down range much quicker if thats what you want.

This was my second bear Montana I also bought a 40# Montana for my wife. I personally shoot a 45# and a 55# I have shot compound pretty much as long as I could walk. Played with a recurve some years ago and enjoyed it.

I basically have gotten disgusted with the compound industry. I have spent I don’t know how many thousands of dollars on compound bows and all the bells and whistles. I wanted to get into trad to simplify my bow hunting.

From the first day out with the Montana I found the fun I had lost in my shooting. I wanted an affordable yet capable bow and went with the bear due to it being made in the USA. I am very pleased with the bow it does everything I need it to do.

It is a little on the slow side but fine for the Kentucky whitetails I chase. I harvested my first trad deer this year with the Montana. A year and a half old 6 point. It is now the pride of my trophy room even though it is the smallest buck.

I would definitely recommend the bear Montana for the price it is a good longbow.

I bought this bow about a year ago and it is one of the best Traditional American LongbowI that I own. I own several new and older classic traditional Bear Archery bows. The Montana shoots great, is accurate and fun but make sure you are wearing an armguard.

Only reason I did not give it a 5 Star rating is because the leather wrap and string it comes with are kind of cheap and cheesy. Bear Archery bows need to come with better quality strings like they use to for the price you pay! Otherwise swap out the string and maybe replace the leather handgrip! Again, fantastic bow!.

Great product. Very precise. Simple to use. Highly recommend. Just a side note, don’t use the heavy duty double sided tape. Totally unnecessary and difficult to remove. I switched to 15 lb. Rated and it worked a lot better.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my 7 year old and he loves it! I wanted a quality recurve that he can grow with. I purchased the 15 pound bow and could have probably gone the 20 pound. The bow has replaceable limbs, so I can always upgrade those in the future.

PSE always makes great products and they did not disappoint with this bow.

Both the upper and lower plastic limb pockets were cracked upon arrival. The plastic pockets are secured to the bow by 2 Phillips head screws and it looks one screw on each limb was overtightened at the factory.

I am going to exchange the bow and try again. This is my second bow of this model, my first is a 20# model and it has lasted well over 10 years with no problems so I am hoping this is just a fluke.

Nice little bow that can be upgraded with stronger limbs as the archer becomes stronger. Good balance and feel in the hand. Beautiful Gloss White limbs against the wood riser looks absolutely awesome.

Only negative is they didn’t spend much time prepping and clearing the wood riser. It is full of pits and a couple places the clear coat sagged. No big deal, just cosmetic. A great beginners bow or child’s bow.

Not a toy plastic like most, but a real wood made bow with the takedown and replaceable limbs. This is the 3rd bow purchased for our daughter, just wish I had found this bow in the 15# pull before I wasted the money on the other two plastic ones that are near toys.

While this is probably marketed as a beginner’s bow (and the only left handed option at the time I went bow shopping) it would probably be more accurately classified as a discount bow for the expert archer / bowsmith who loves having to maintain their bow closely and often.

The biggest problem I notice is with cam / bowstring alignment. My string has been fraying consistently on the sharp inner guide rail of the upper cam, due to being pulled too far off centre by the middle rail which pulls the string off centre for arrow clearance (forget the technical term).

I discovered that the hole into which this bowstring guide bar is (just below bow sight attachment) inserted is misaligned, and so in order to prevent dangerous fraying, you must only insert the string guide bar through the first of two holes, which reduces the angle, allowing less fraying at that top cam.

I am serious about the Allen keys also. Most screws come loose slowly over time, including the cam screws which secure that sharp top guide rail. if you hear any buzzing / vibration while shooting, be sure to check your screws before the bow blows up on you.

Additionally, the peep site is held in place by poorly tied factory knots. Better manufacturers leave these knots loose intentionally to allow for peep site positioning before being firmly secured. this is easily fixed by moving them into position, and then tying some proper knots with the correct fine string at the end of these slidable factory knots.

The bow sight adds no value to the bow in my opinion. the level of vibration that rattles through it with each shot made it impossible to cinch down tight enough to prevent it moving with each shot. I missed my first shot at a grouse because it had slipped almost completely out of its bracket, which it did after my second shot at said grouse.

So if you buy this, tighten everything down within reason, and think about upgrading your bowsight immediately. It does shoot fairly well. It is weighted nicely, and produces a repeatable flight with good technique.

Just look after it, especially if you don’t have a large budget for repairs. I may be needing a new string soon, which apparently is only available from specialty string-makers, not the manufacturer themselves.

To start, I’m an experienced bow hunter for over 45 years. I’ve bow hunted whitetail and elk for years. I started with a longbow, then recurve before moving on to compounds. Three years ago I had two complete shoulder replacements and a left rotator cuff surgery.

Not much left of the left rotator, so I was seeking a light bow with adjustable draw length and adjustable draw weights, the 70 lb. Hoyt no longer an option. I wasn’t ready to give up and go to the crossbow, and I wasn’t ready to stop bow hunting.

The last two years I used a Browning Micro Midas youth bow I had purchased for our son several years ago just to get by. I hadn’t been able to find a good option at my local pro shop, but found the Cruzer G2 at Cabela’s.

I tried it and a couple of other options they had. The Cruzer was by far the smoothest and easiest on my wasted shoulders. I’m still getting comfortable and fine tuning, but it was very well setup from the start and truly not a lot of adjusting.

If you’re in a similar shoulder situation and not ready to give up being a bow hunter, I would suggest you give this option a shot.

I like the bow. I bought it for my son three days ago and he loves shooting it. However the arrows that came with it don’t seem to be the greatest. The ferrules for the points weren’t glued into the shafts and fell out immediately.

The arrow rest seems a bit dodgy as well. The spongy tips of the 3 points holding the arrow in wore down after fewer than a dozen shots and the way it’s clamped to be held vertically isn’t very solid.

Youth arrows on the manufacturer’s site were out of stock and I can’t find aluminum shaft youth archery arrows anywhere. All the available youth arrows i code find are carbon fiber with a smaller diameter meaning that the arrow rest doesn’t work very well.

I’m going to replace it with a whisker biscuit. I also found myself wishing that it came with a D loop and a peep sight for greater accuracy. The day I bought it I ended up taking it to my local shop and had both installed.

The changes made siting it in a lot easier, led to some pretty tight groupings and made shooting it far easier for my 13 year old. Again,a good bow that could be made better with the right accessories and some quality arrows.

Bought this bow for my son as a starter bow. The bow itself seems okay. The accessories are terrible. The quiver is a two piece that forces the arrows against the bow body. The arrow rest is CHEAP plastic and won’t adjust properly, and the arrows are SHOCKINGLY bad.

First, one tip just pulled out of the arrow shaft when attaching the practice tip. No biggie I thought, I can re-glue it. But when he shot the other two arrows for the FIRST time, both of the other tips pulled out and are lost.

One is buried inside the target somewhere and the other flew off. When one arrow missed the target, the arrow folded in half, so I guess that means not having the tip doesn’t matter any more for that one.

My son got literally ONE shot of two of the three arrows and they are now trashed. I gave him a set of my carbon practice arrows and they’re performing fine. But I am SHOCKED at the horrible quality of the parts that came with this bow.

I ordered a set of extra practice arrows for him at the same time we ordered the bow and they still haven’t showed up. I’m going to cancel them as I suspect they will be as junky as the three it came with.

Disappointed.

I know this is a youth bow, however as someone that has never been in archery and a $175 price tag i was all for it. The bow shoots amazing. After a ton of customization. The only issue with it i have is Barnett has no support or replacement parts for it what so ever.

Ive learned strings and many other things can be made yourself. However if you such as drop it and bend a cam. Your going to be screw and left with a paper weight. If not for this i would give 5 stars.

This bow is only good for very young kids. It claims to have and adjustable draw length and weight. It comes set up for a small child with a 5ib x 16″ draw and claims to be adjustable to suite a 10 year old with 10ib x 25″ draw.

This claim is a bold faced lie!!! The bow does not adjust and is not even adjustable with tools. Do not buy unless for a small child; do not be fooled as I was. It is useless for my 10yo. I am buying another bow.

Every $ spent on Bear spark was wasted.

I bought this bow for my 7 year old daughter. For a beginner I think the quality is acceptable. Its not very customizable and there are better bows out there for youth, but for a child who you do not know if they will stick with it it works well.

The draw length is slightly too long for her at this point, but the draw weight it so little it doesn’t really affect her. I really like that it is ambidextrous, so she can try shooting left handed (she’s right handed but left eye dominant) and it still will work as a hand me down for her siblings.

When I’m convinced she will stick with the sport I will likely upgrade to a bow with an adjustable draw length and weight. Also note that the sight isn’t very good, but it’s an affordable bow meant for youth, so it works well enough.

I bought this bow set for my Grandson who is interested in Archery. However there are not instruction I can find on how to use this bow. There is not info on the Sight pin and how to use///set it up! It doesn’t make sense to off something like this a youth starting out and not provide any information on how to set it up and use it! I looked on the internet and didn’t find anything, No instruction with the kit or links to go to!.

I purchased this bow only two months ago and have had 2 issues occur that should not have happened this early in the life of this product. After the first month the string began to fray aggressively to the point where I had to replace it for safety’s sake.

No more than 50 arrows in to the new string the cam draw length modules gave out (in the middle of hunting season for me nonetheless). All tune ups and installations to the bow were conducted by a highly reputable archery shop with decades worth of experience.

I understand that this bow is geared more towards the entry level or budget friendly consumer, however I don’t thinks it is unreasonable to expect the parts of this bow to hold up for at least more than a season.

The only satisfactory part of the experience thus far was the customer service readily replacing my broken parts. And to be fair the bow shot like a laser for a limited time when it was tuned up and working properly.

If I had a time machine I would have just saved my money and bought a bow with higher quality materials. The money I’ve spent replacing, installing, and tuning this thing would have already bought me a better bow from the start.

Ultimately, you get what you pay for.

Bear Archery has a winner here! Even at 35#, this Montana shoots so well for me, I may just lay down my other recurves and longbows and make this my primary hunting bow with 2 blade broadheads! Easy on the shoulder, yet still plenty of power for deer at under 25 yards.

Great cast, lightweight, no handshock, well thought out design (I believe Neil Brice at Bear designed this, but I may be wrong)! Either way, it shoots as well or better than many custom longbows costing twice as much.

this is my 3rd Montana with quality issues in the last 2 weeks. First had delaminating limbs. Second had a giant gouge in the limb, the third came with a string made by a novice. The serving has big loose spots.

If Bear or Cabelas reads this and fixes the problem, it will go a long way, but I’m just tired of these quality issues. When I can get my arrows to nock on this bow, it shoots decently. I’ve shot a number of bows, and this one would be worth the money if they weren’t having such issues.

It has a fair amount of hand shock. The arrow rest is noisy rubbing the arrows, but well made.

I am new to bow hunting so I was looking for something budget-friendly but adjustable and ready to shoot. This bow has been great with one exception: The three pin sight is cheap and falls apart easily.

The day I got it home and attempted to make small adjustments to the pins to get it sighted in and noticed that one of the fibers was not attached to the tip of the pin as it should be. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the end of the fiber was actually broken so it was no longer able to be used.

I reached out to PSE about a replacement pin. They got back to me right away via email and said that they would replace the pin and asked for my address so they could ship it to me. That was a month ago.

I still have not received my replacement pin. I set two of the pins that remain so that I could still go hunting. Hopefully, I’ll get my pin someday. This is a very light and comfortable bow that is a lot of fun to shoot.

Its quiet, too and the Mossy Oak makes it blend in with the background easily in the tree stand. If you get one, I highly recommend replacing the sight ASAP. Just can’t say anything good about something that breaks the first hour you own it.

I bought my first Bow Madness Unleashed as a backup bow for my son, but I started shooting it and I shoot it very well. I won a local shoot with it. I liked it so much I bought another one when they went on sale again.

I will use the latest purchase to train other archers. I love the adjustability and smooth draw of PSE bows. The adjustability helps this bow fit a wide range of shooters. The 2nd bow I purchased did have a couple of nicks in the paint on the riser, but it was still a bargain in my book.

I like the bow good power but the techs have something less to be desired……. after 60 shots the stops on my cam loosened and popped mid draw……I suppose the techs never heard of a torque wrench. I would by the bow again either from another dealer or just take to another company to work on my bow.

This was bought in Boise Idaho. The unfortunate thing is this has messed up my plans in going hunting now and I live two hours away from any bow tech…. thanks Cabela’s.

I was So excited for this to arrive and it finally came yesterday! I opened The box and found most of the instructions in 5 languages, however, it was not fully comprehensive and didn’t give proper information regarding assembly.

I finally put it together (and have extra parts) but it’s missing an essential part – the bar where you rest the arrow. The arrows are kinda cheap too but hey! It was only $50! Also, it’s very large and a bit heavy.

I’m 5’4, 120lbs and I have issues holding it up, pointing and shooting. Great for some cheap fun, but not recommended if you’re tryna be Hawkeye during c-19.

I am a 19 year old girl who was interested in learning archery after watching The Hunger Games. I am 5’4” and 102. 5 lbs and this bow is perfect for me. It is a little hard to draw since I am not very athletic, but I am sure if I work at it, it will get easier.

This bow is awesome and exceeded my expectations. First of all, it is beautiful. It looks very sturdy, and I like how it is all black and not brightly colored like most of the other youth bows. I also love the shape.

Just so you know, it is a recurve, even though the product says it’s a longbow. I looked around a lot to find a good youth recurve bow and was disappointed in all of them but this one. It is well worth the $34.

The bow itself is very high quality and seems durable. The bow string is actually a real bow string. The only thing is the accessories. They are really cheap, even the arrows. The first arrow I shot got broken, with the nock shattering to pieces.

They also seem cheaply glued, so I definitely recommend buying other arrows (they should be 26″). Don’t worry about any of the add-ons to the bow (sight, arrow rest, quiver, etc) because they would make the bow too heavy and bulky.

The finger tabs don’t stay put and almost caused me to let go prematurely. The arm guard fits me, but it didn’t help me when the string slapped my upper arm. Overall, I definitely recommend this bow to any beginner, as it is of excellent quality and looks amazing, just like Katniss’s bow in the Quarter Quell! Wonderful bow.

We got ours and every time my son and I tried to shoot, the arrows would get caught in the string and go straight to the ground, they were going nowhere. Another issue is the tension on the string is not tight enough at all.

We were ready to return it but decided to look and see if there was anything we could do to make it better, if your willing to do that also, you’ll get better results. Here is what we did, tightened the string tremendously but looping the ends through one another several times, then attaching them back,now it goes over 25 yards easy, then we got better arrows.

I highly recommend getting your own arrows, makes a huge difference too. Now its a pretty decent bow. I don’t know if they will all have the same problems as ours did, but if you get one and it does, try what we did, instead of going through the hassle of a return.

I was excited about getting back into shooting archery after 20 years But I wanted to challenge myself. So I decided traditional archery was what I was looking for. I decided the bear super grizzly recurve 50# was the bow for me.

After receiving it I went right to shooting it. Shoots smooth and pretty quiet. 50# might be a bit heavy for a beginner like me to start with but I am getting better after a few weeks. I’m excited to see where this takes me shooting again.

I really like the smooth clean look of the bow. Excellent craftsmanship. Great feel in the hand.

I have been into traditional archery for about 10 years now. I have shot a bunch of different recurves, both borrowed from friends and of my personal collection. I’ve owned my Super Grizzly for about 6 years now, 55#.

I do not claim to be an expert, just a guy with a little experience with different bows. I am comparing this bow to to the ones I’ve shot, which are Bear Grizzly, Bear Kodiak, Bear Kodiak Magnum (I do not recommend this one for guys with 30″ draws), Samick Sage, PSE Coyote, and a Hoyt take down (don’t remember the model, it was a friend’s).

Compared to the rest, the Bear Super Grizzly felt the smoothest to draw, very quiet when tuned, durable, accurate, and the finish wares well and reveals a beautiful finish. Specific comparisons: -The Bear Grizzly: The Super Grizzly is more forgiving and smoother on the draw.

My Old Grizzly suffered a little limb twist in the same time and conditions that I have owned my Super Grizzly. I think the glass on the belly of the Super Griz helps prevent this also. It’s still as straight as it was out of the box.

-Bear Kodiak: While the Kodiak’s added length provided a more comfortable draw hand, it did not feel as fast or as smooth as my Super Grizzly. -Bear Kodiak Magnum: WAAAAAAY too short for guys with longer draw lengths.

Not a fan at all. -Samick and PSE Coyote: These two are not built to the same quality control, nor fit and finish. Again, not as smooth and comfortable as the Super Griz. I felt a big difference in quality when shooting.

-My buddy’s Hoyt: A bigger price tag for what, to me, boils down to high speed looking aesthetics. The Hoyt shot well and comfortably enough, but not twice the price tag worth.

This is my fourth Fred Bear bow and it was the most expensive. I am comparing it to a Grizzly, AuSable, and Montana. Now I know why the 59′ Kodiak is the most expensive of the four. It is a true gem of a bow.

Light weight, beautifully crafted, a pleasure to shoot, fast, and hard hitting. I suspect this will prove to be my favorite. Five thumbs up for Fred Bear Archery for bringing back this classic recurve.

Very comfortable grip. Comes with a Flemish twist string and a hair rest. Finish on riser leaves a little bit to be desired – just not as fine a finish as a higher end bow, but then it costs way less than a high end bow.

Perfect for the price. Delivery was amazing. I got my order a week before it was expected.

Have a pse sequoia 50#, love it, tough to beat, but i think it got beat. My 60 # sierra is beautiful, well built, put my own leather thick arrow rest on, shot it, wow, best bow i have at 35 yds. Shoots straight consistantly, arrows land where you point it.

Thought i couldnt shoot straight consistanly but i was wrong, a bow can make the difference. So i highly recommend the omp sierra. Vibration not enough to make me ad dampeners, its quiet enough, i’ll keep shooting it bare, just very impressed with its accuracy at that distance, wow.

Bow shoot well. Comes with a very good flemish twist string. Slight hand shock with lighter arrows. Wish the handle was a 1/2 to 1 inch longer but is very shootable as is.

I’ve been into archery for 40yrs (I hunt probably 150 days a year. seriously), and this bow is all around excellent. This bow,and all October Mountain bows,are actually rebranded Samick bows. Samick is a solid name in traditional archery.

That said,this bow is solid,very well built,and shoots as good as my bows costing close to $800. The riser is beautiful, the limbs can be changed out to any weight you want,its just a solid bow,made for everyone from beginners to pro shooters.

That said,you can save $100 because everywhere else they are $149. Is the bow worth more? Absolutely! This bow shoots as good as a $1200 Bob Lee custom.

I got this bow as a gift 5 or so years ago. I’ve shot hundreds of arrows through it, so I suppose it held up well enough. I’m a little disappointed because the bottom limb snapped today without cause (i.

e. I didn’t overdraw, etc. ). If OMP offered a 60# bow, I might go for that.

I only just received this bow and thought I’d send in a review right away. The first thing I noticed after opening the box and assembling is the excellent workmanship. Not a single blemish on the limbs or riser.

The riser itself is beautifully made and blended with nice maple. The grip fits my hand perfectly. After firing a few arrows last night, the bow draws smooth and is surprisingly quiet. There is a lot of quality packed into what some consider an entry level hunting recurve.

I’m very impressed and would recommend this bow to anyone. novice to experienced.
