13 Best Wood For Jewelry Box (2023 Updated)

First, this watch box is beautiful and very high quality! However, it has a major design flaw and regrettably, I cannot give it five stars. The flaw is that the bottom drawer is not tall enough for most watches.

Larger watches, like today’s popular chronographs, are too large and the drawer will not close. Even “normal” watches, unless they have a very thin profile, rub the bottom of the top drawer. I removed the watch pillows from the bottom drawer and am using it to hold other pieces of jewelry.

It’s sad that the designers did not do a simple thing like try different watches in the bottom drawer before putting this watch box into production. If they had, they would have known to make the bottom drawer taller!.

I had previously ordered the 10 Slot XL case and dearly wanted to order 1 or 2 more of that model since I dearly loved it. Unfortunately, they have been out of stock for over a year and it doesn’t appear they will ever come back.

So I settled on this model hoping it would be almost the same. I’m afraid it isn’t. Although it is supposed to be the same wood as the first one, it doesn’t appear to be and the finish on the first one was a beautiful high-gloss finish, this one is a matte / flat finish and is not as attractive as the previous one.

It is still very well made, and if it is your first watch case you will probably be happy with it.

This was a gift for my son in law who has numerous watches and no place to store them. We were very pleased with the quality of this watch box. Would definitely recommend this box to anyone looking for such an item.

I love everything about this jewelry box. Walnut is my wood finish of choice. It is a nice brown – not red or yellow. It sits on my large bathroom counter on white marble and the cabinetry is medium maple and it blends beautifully.

The brushed hardware is lovely and looks very high-end. The lines are clean and simple and therein lies its elegance. All of my jewelry fits in perfectly. The organization provides room for rings, earrings, bracelets including bangles, a deep drawer on the bottom holds watches, and FINALLY a jewelry box will hold chains of any length without tangling them in a basket or bucket type arrangement.

I have had many jewelry boxes, some from QVC, with removable dividers (which never stay in place) or tarnish free linings (which work briefly). This one is a keeper. You get what you pay for. You will love this purchase! Your jewelry and you deserve it!!.

I downsized from a jewelry armoire to this jewelry chest due to move. I needed to donate some items to make it work for me. I like the simple design and the necklace compartment in back is a lot of fun.

Be careful of putting too many items in drawers or they will get stuck. Overall, a nice piece in my new studio digs.

Walnut is a thin veneer, rest is plywood, which should not be surprising given the price. The drawers slide smoothly and the variety of sizes of drawer compartments will help organize her jewelry. The lid hinge is loose but has a clever metal ring that holds the lid slighly beyond vertical which makes the mirror functional only if box is roughly at chest height.

This is an unfinished pine box. Plain and simple. It has potential to be a great gift box and small “keepsake” jewelry box with a bit of time and effort. You’ll need stain and polyurethane. Depending on how dark and shiney you want it, plan on multiple coats.

I wanted mine very dark and shiney so I slathered it with the darkest stain I could find left it overnight, wiped it dry and did it again. I cut out an illustration of a sun and fixed it onto the lid with a light coat of spray adhesive to the back of the paper.

Then I applied several coats polyurethane lightly sanding between each coat and wiping with a cheese cloth also between coats. Came out very nice though! I then lined the inside with purple and blue velvet covered foam.

Have fun with it! Your only barrier is your own imagination!.

With a little research, you can find the “best” price on these nicely constructed and finished boxes. The lids slide in and out easily and they are satiny smooth to the touch. Perfect for so many craft projects!.

The lid and box are constructed so as to allow easy separation and covering. It’s delicate – don’t cram it full of lead sinkers and chuck it into your fishing tackle box. I’ve got the guts for a music box and that’s what this one is destined for.

The box is nice and as described. The problem is that the plate inside the cover for engraving is not set properly; instead it is crooked. It was very noticeably crooked. They had to get another box.

That one is still off somewhat but not as bad as the first one. Too bad because the box is nice, but it really isn’t the best to give something as a gift when it isn’t right. I am disappointed the clerk tried to pass off the first box at all.

The second I still purchased although not as it should be but I figured the quality probably wasn’t going to get much better after two tries already.

I purchased this jewelry box with the intention of modifying it into a presentation case. When it arrived I found it to be beautiful and well constructed, but it was not the same dimension as listed in the online ad.

The ad states the medium box as 12. 2” W x 9. 3” H x 6. 5” D, but it is actually 10” W x 8” H x 4. 5” D. I contacted customer service and they confirmed that the correct box was shipped and the ad is wrong.

There is no box the size advertised, they offered no compensation, and stated they would correct the listed dimensions. I had the option of returning the box leaving me without anything a few days before Christmas so I kept it and changed my gift leaving me in a bad situation.

I checked before writing this review and they still haven’t corrected the description of this item to the correct dimensions. I’m very unhappy that Things Remembered continues in this deceptive practice and wonder how many other items they are selling by deception.

Very disappointed in the engraving. The jewelry box is beautiful but unfortunately the engraving ruins the entire thing. Poor quality. Crooked. Very disappointed after paying more for the engraving than the box.

Will not use Things Remembered again.

This Wood Jewelry and Watch Box is absolutely beautiful! I was extremely impressed with how well made this Box is. The picture does not do it justice. We got the Jewelry Box for my husband for Father’s Day and he was extremely surprised and quite taken aback with this beautiful gift we got for him.

And my husband is not the type of person who shows much emotion, so that should tell you something. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to give their husband/father something extremely beautiful that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

This gift exceeded my expectations. It was beautifully personalized and came very fast shipping. It is definitely a quality buy and worth the money. The inside was a suade ish materian it even has a nice drawer for other jewlery.

I bought this for my daughter. It is a really nice quality jewelry box. I didn’t want anything too big. I was still able to put a personal touch inside the box when she opens it. The engraving was nice and no problems.

I had no problems with delivery and was shipped very quickly. She hasn’t used it yet so I don’t know how it will hold up.

The box is bigger than I expected. You can lift the organizer piece out so there is more storage under. It’s absolutely beautiful, I couldn’t be happier when I received it after only seeing it online.

It was carefully packaged so it was delivered safely. The mirror is high quality as well.

The box itself is very nice. It is a shame they can’t ship it and protect the glass top from breaking. I have had two delivered and both arrived broken. Contacted Mele after the first and in email, mentioned they need to ship with better protection.

Said they would pass along the info. Apparently not as the second on arrived packaged the same. The watchbox in a very tight fitting ‘decorative box’ inside a very tight fitting master box. Not bubble wrap, paper insulating the box- nothing.

Of course the glass will break. It is a shame as it is just not shippable and is not available IN STORE anywhere. If I found one, I would buy it as it is one of the nicest watchboxes out there.

This is way more functional and well made than I thought. I have several Mele & Co vintage boxes, but needed a stand for my everyday jewelry. This is a very substantial wood piece that fit all of my daily bracelets and necklaces with room to spare.

I am very happy that I can quickly find a piece and know they will not be tangled in a heap. The drawers and cubbies are also great for smaller pieces. I am very impressed with it.

I wanted a smaller profile that would fit in a safe. This is perfect at 10″ x 10″, and it has a wonderful little places on the top for earrings or rings that can be seen through the glass. I also was looking for this particular style with the lift up lid because it doesn’t have the ring rolls.

On other sites, the top drawer pulls out and it has rings rolls. Same brand but different styles. I haven’t organized my jewelry yet, but I suspect that I may need a second one. Also, another feature that I really like is that the drawers pull all the way out, so that one can see everything that is stored in them, without having to poke around in the back with a finger.

The weight is substantial, the outside is finished well in glossy white, and seems well-made. The only negative I have is that the drawers are a little rough when opening and closing. All-in-all, I am very, very pleased.

This jewelry chest is elegant and practical. Plenty of spots for all earrings/charms/rings etc. the flexible hanging hooks for pendants is perfect. While you CAN get this jewelry chest for LESS (thus 4 stars) at other stores (the one with a red star and the one named after the coin with Lincoln on it) easy pay is a good thing.

if there wasn’t that, I would have shopped elsewhere. this could also be used for fancy schmancy beading/jewelry making.

This Hass to be my all-time favorite earring jewelry box. I was so thrilled when I found it… It has two drawers for items you don’t use very often, but the very best part about it is it has this see-through glass top where you can see all of your selections easily.

It’s exactly the right size and shape… It holds all my earrings and a few bracelets… Couldn’t ask for anything better. Extremely happy with this purchase for sure.
