20 Best Wood For Cornhole Boards (2023 Updated)

I ordered the GoSports 4’ x 2’ Commercial Grade Cornhole Board Only Set. It arrived on time, fully assembled and done well. The boards appeared as they were described, and the varnished cherry wood top decks are beautiful.

I’m new to cornhole, so I can’t speak to the deck surface in terms of how far or fast the bags slide or stick on these deck surfaces, but it seems to work fine to this new player. The quality of these boards is very good, they’re sturdy and nice looking, and it appears to be a game that will last years if well cared for.

The one drawback that precluded this review from receiving 5 stars was the fact that one of the boards arrived with a minor dent in the top deck (about 1 in. x 1/2 in. ). It may have occurred during the shipping process, but the dent is very shallow and in no way influences the way in which a bag will slide, so I consider this to be a minor issue.

Other than that, I can say only good things about these boards. Thanks, GoSports!.

I’m no corn hole professional, but I like to play (reference for perspective). I like the standard wood boards so I was hesitant to purchase this product. However, I saw these in the store and it made me want to try a more portable solution.

Honestly, I’m not disappointed. For the price, I was expecting a step above terrible. This set is actually very good, for what it is. Lightweight and solid. Easily collapsible and super easy setup. Exactly what you would want with a portable set.

The main complaint is that I wish they had a better bag storage system. I’ve had them fall out of the holes. Having a separate case or bag to carry for the beanbags impacts portability. I think this set would be well worth the money if Go Sports would apply this feature.

Edit: you should fix the feature that flags the name of your store as profanity.

We bought two of these cornhole sets for our school so our students could have opportunities to interact with each other and learn social skills. The boards are very durable as we have used them on asphalt and the grass in the mud, they were fine.

The bags are great and the perfect weight. The only concern is the carrying case that stores the boards and bags is a very tight fit. It has taken multiple people to get the boards back into the carrying case.

I’m concerned the carrying case will rip eventually as we are trying to zip it back up. Other than that, the product is fantastic and a great way to have a laid back social activity.

This company alone deserves a 1 star review. The actual products are made with great quality and seem like they would be great. If only they could ship them properly, or honor their shipping protection.

I purchased these as a gift and they arrived completely destroyed. Wood was splintering on every side of the boards, they were not even secured or taped completely shut in the box. Then when I reached out about the shipping protection a gift card was sent to me to order new ones.

That would be great but the gift card does not even cover the full amount of the boards and shipping. So now I have to pay more money for shipping protection on new boards that American Cornhole Association demolished in the first place, and hope that I don’t end up with damaged $h!t again.

So I am now out more money, have to find another birthday gift for someone, and stuck with unusable cornhole boards. Customer service is a joke I would not waste your time or money with this business.

The graphics are beautiful and a solid set of boards. Carry handles are a nice feature. A solid set we will have for a very long time. Really love the all weather, competition bags. However, I was a little surprised by the quality control.

The holes were very rough and had splintery cuts. We had to take some sandpaper to it because the bags would get stuck by the splinters and plug up the hole. I also did not receive the nylon tote for the bags.

I would expect a little more considering the cost. It seems you just have to lower your expectations since COVID.

I bought the exact one on July 27, 2019 from Amazon. It included the 2 boards, 8 bags and a carrying case for the bags. When I ordered the current one for my Son, Michael, it cost $300. 92. I didn’t realize that it didn’t include the 8 bags and the bag carrying case until my Son received it and texted me to tell me there weren’t any bags or bag carrying case.

You can’t play the game without the BAGS‼. It would be like buying a scrabble game but the tiles weren’t included, they are extra. Plus it shows a picture of the 3 boards, the bags and the carrying case.

I hope you rectify this in a customer friendly way and give me a credit for what the bags cost since we had to go a buy some so that they were able to play the game.

The set is very pretty and well made. The picture on the board is beautiful. The bags seem sturdy and well made. I was surprised that the wood was not finished, though. But no worries. I just sanded the rough edges and then stained the wood with some stain I had.

Very happy with these. High quality and sturdy. The bean bags are also very high quality. They were out of a color I wanted and the seller was very easy to work with to pick a different one. He kept me updated on expected shipment date.

Amazing boards, we got the Liberty or Death Punisher boards. I cannot get over how beautiful these boards turned out! I got them for my father-in law for his birthdays so he LOVED them! Currently using them as I write this review ?? *We did use 220 grit sandpaper because the bags were sliding off from being so slick and it worked wonders! No more sliding off, we cannot be more happy with this purchase!*.

Love these corn-hole boards! We’ve already spent several nights doing family “tournaments” with them! The bags slide on them really well. The boards are very well made and the case fits both boards and bags comfortably.

This is GREAT for on the go! The only thing that makes it different from traditional corn hole boards is that it’s canvas, so it has some give to it and the bean bags bounce a little. If you don’t like a little bounce then this isn’t a good fit for you.

If you don’t mind a little spring in the bean bag action (sometimes this is to your advantage because it could bounce right in to the hole), then this is perfect! Great quality in the product overall.

I had damage on my boards. Must have been dropped on the corner. Customer service got back to me within 24 hours and gave me several options of how to deal with it including a 20% discount. I would recommend a little more robust packaging.

Bags are a little expensive but I think you can raise your prices on the boards. I would like to know how you guys paint/ stain them. It would also be neat if you can figure out system of the boards latching together so you can carry them together and store.

These are exquisitely designed and crafted! Beyond the beautiful design, the quality and craftsmanship are outstanding, down to the smallest details like the magnetic holder for the legs and the slightly rounded corners.

We also got the covers which are padded and fit to a tee. I ordered two “other -brand” sets before finding these – at only slightly less cost – and had to return both because of delivery damage and overall poor quality.

These are PERFECT!.

The boards are beautiful and very well made. They are a bit heavy but the side “handles” make it easy to transport them. They are solid but not cumbersome. We chose the dual sided bags and they have a nice heft to them.

Wish they were a little more rugged only because my lab has decided it’s fun the run off with the bags that bounce off the board lol. Customer service was quick and responsive when I had a small pricing issue.

Holy smokes! This thing was gorgeous! Really nice craftsmanship and it’s heavy duty for sure. Exactly what I need to hold up to my kids and the occasion where I forget it outside overnight here and there.

This thing will last a long time. We got the all weather coating on it, so it was a little slick at first. Seller said to lightly spray with hair spray for a few rounds and then it should be fine after that.

This tailgate game was shipped to Phoenix for our transplanted Chiefs family members. The mystery of this giant, heavy box under the tree made it the choice of being the only gift opened on Christmas Eve.

I got to see the kids tear into it through face time and MAN were they happy to see what it was! They immediately put it to use (no assembly required!) and were still playing two hours later. and also played on Christmas Day.
