This is a great frame. It is completely real wood, made in the USA, and from recycled materials. Arrived quickly, and the gray weathered look is just rustic enough without being over done. This is the perfect frame for a rustic, yet put together look.
These frames are so nice! They fit our canvasses perfectly and really enhance the paintings. They arrived quickly. I especially like they are an American made product, I like them so much, I have ordered a 3rd one.
The picture frame is not made of real wood. It looks good but the cut edges of the inside of the frame appears like a semi hard plastic. The wood grain is like a thin contact paper. I would expect to pay $4-5 dollars at a dollar store, not the >$20 that I paid.
It looks nice on the wall, but handling it and close up, not so much.

First off, it’s not even a full picture frame. I know it says that in the description but buyer beware and all that. No screen, no backing, no hardware. And it’s not worth trying to install all of it because.
within days it broke. I pushed it up against a pile of clothes and it broke. The construction is clearly just some glue. It’s really bad guys. They also took a really long time to ship. They’re made to order which is fine, but fair warning that if the rest of these reviews didn’t cover it and you decide to order, the disappointment will take several weeks to arrive.
I recently bought these frames to give some of my canvasses a more finished look. The frames come without any glass or plastic to cover the opening in the frames, but that was fine with me. The frames also come without any backing or means to hold a print or artwork on a single sheet of paper.
again, this was ok with me given the purpose for which I bought the frames. However, the frames have a significant offset, which is obviously to let these frames accept a thick canvas. My canvasses were much thinner than the offset in the frames.
Since no hardware came with these frames, I had to order the correct offset clips separately. Installing the clips was rather straight forward, but time consuming given 4 clips per frame. I guess you get what you pay for and nothing more.

I was bummed the screws are set 20” apart, not the standard 16 “ apart for studs in US homes. Wood quality itself is great. While the poster/paper isnt heavy, at 90 in long and I dont want to worry about my toddler tugging on it and the whole thing falling down.
This isn’t an issue if you have a smaller poster but for this size, I prefer to hang into studs. My handyman had to go to Home Depot to buy better quality drywall screws- he gasped at how much the hanger cost.
Disappointed I needed extra labor and better quality drywall studs after spending $300. Customer service was helpful in explaining that usually posters are light weight and rarely need to fit into studs.
I appreciate their response. I recommend this product for smaller posters but for huge art like mine, note that the screws won’t align with your studs.
We were trying to glue magnets to sticks to hold up pictures ourselves, but they were terrible. Then we found Well Made. Can’t stop buying more. Work very well. Attractive. Magnets nice and strong. On a Sat.

I just love these sturdy back-stapled canvases at Michaels and use them all the time for commissioned paintings. This one in particular, a 2. 5 x 3. 5 ft. , yielded a gorgeous abstract called Trumpet Gets Right in pencil and oil pastel.
The client was thrilled! Since I use lead pencil and pastels to dig in directly onto the canvas, it is paramount to have a canvas that holds up to the penciling and coloring. In addition the wood cross-backing is firm and allows me to move the canvas around easily as I create my work.
I only buy my canvases at Michaels, nowhere else. I have done many commissions and my work is now being published regularly in magazines–with international attention, so I also need canvases that pop as a background when I photograph them.

I really like these canvases. They are great for practicing and for my doodling around. My husband likes to hang my paintings around the house and office. The price is great for value. The reason I gave it a four star is there are times when I’m going over a spot and it will tear.
This is after going over it a bit with water, or trying to blend a color. I’ll see different pulled or tear / worn spots on a finished painting. It doesn’t happen enough for me to stop using these canvases, but be aware that if you are presenting it formally and wish not to have that happen, that this might not be the perfect canvas for you.
