20 Best Women’S Running Shoe For Narrow Feet (2023 Updated)

I run a modest 10-20 miles a week. Depending on my schedule. I’m 5’9″ 175 and I love trying new sneakers. I started having ankle and foot problems with my On Clouds a couple years ago. I turned to Brooks Ghost 13.

They were nice and comfortable. My pains started going away. I was considering buy the 13’s again then I read the reviews for the 14’s so I gave them a shot. I have 200 miles and they still feel like brand new.

They are light and strong and I have over 100 miles this month alone in them. Great job Brooks!.

I really wanted to like this shoe. It is well made and look attractive. However, I have a plantar fasciitis issue in my right foot that I hoped this shoe would help manage during my physical activities.

Unfortunately, it aggravates it and I end up with pain during and after use.

Very impressed. Sizing was consistent with the last Brooks I bought and the ordering system was easy. To start with I thought they made my ankle feel funny but then I did the lock laces trick and they’re great.

Removable insole means I can wear my own orthotics. Heel is high enough that my foot doesn’t slip out the back even with my orthotics. This is the main reason I buy Brooks rather than another brand.

I have been buying 2 pair of these runner for over 20 years every year. They have have my knees and back from damage. If i don’t wear them, i can be sure my back and knees play up. I always use to twist my ankles before coming across these, they were recommended to me by my orthodontist.

i can not speak more highly of the knowledge and expertise put into these shoes. I cannot live without them. I have recently purchased. Brook walking shoes and two addition runners, i interchange to keep them firm and fresh.

I cannot express myself more to one considering these. I was blessed being put onto them. Avoided medical intervention for the time been. !.

Theae sneakers are very comfortable. I’ve had issues with new balance in the past but I recently got fitted and these foam runners were great at first fit. I came from a pair of HOKA so i wanted something just as comfortable or better and these foam runners are better for my feet and knees.

I typically wear them to the gym and brought them in vacation recently where I was walking the entire time and my feet and knees felt fine. I have bad knees and typically after a long day of walking my feet will also bother me these are truly the first pair of sneakers that were comfortable all day and night long.

They are so good that I gifted a pair for my parents because they enjoy walking daily and they also love them. I would recommend these to anyone that is in their feet all day, walks or runs alot or just wants a great pair of gym shoes.

They hold up really well. In this case I would say you get what you pay for. My only real complaint is that they are not even close to stylish and look way too athletic. I wish they had a pair of these high quality foam runners in a more stylish option for some casual wear.

My feet and knees would be vet happy if i had some comfortable shoes like this with jeans or other casual attire.

I purchased the Fresh Foam X 880v12. I was looking for a moderately cushioned, neutral shoe due to an old football injury, which causes a supination issue with my right ankle. The laces were much too short.

I had to relace skipping two lace holes until I could purchase longer laces. Being new to “fresh foam” shoes, I found them to be rather unstable. I have purchased New Balance because they offer wide shoes.

I normally wear 10. 5 4E US. However, I have recently been purchasing 11 4E because the shoes have been short in the toe box. I purchased these shoes in an 11 X-Wide (widest available) and found these shoes to be tight.

I have high arches and my feet look like they are bursting out of the shoes. Not happy for the price. I would not purchase these shoes again. Quite frankly, for the last couple of years, I have been having difficulty with the fit of New Balance shoes.

When a majority of their shoes were made in the US, they didn’t seem to have as many issues.

I was recommended by my orthopedist to buy these exact shoes due to pregnancy and a medium sized bunion. So, I excitedly go on the ASICS website and start searching. I notice by the reviews that the shoes run a BIT small, so I size up.

I have semi- wide feet only due to the bunion. So, I bought a size bigger than normal AND a size WIDE. So I receive the shoes and try them on and they seem ok, my toes don’t reach the end, my toe box does touch the sides on both feet.

But I decided to give them a try so I wear them out if the house and off to work I go. By the end of the day, my feet hurt more than when I wear any other shoes I own. My bunion and feet were throbbing and I wanted to throw them away.

But, since these were recommended to me, I decided to give customer service a call. Well, I’m sorry I did that because these were probably the least helpful people I’ve ever spoken to. When I called the first gentleman, I could barely understand him through his accent (fine), but he was like speaking to a brick wall, he offered no solutions, nothing.

When I sent an email, that representative said I could drive an hour and possibly get 50% back on the shoes. I wanted to cry, here I had these almost new shoes and wanted so bad to start being a fan of ASICS but now I just want to throw them away (I’ll probably try to sell them on Poshmark) and I will unfortunately never buy a pair of ASICS again.

This could have been easily rectified but, here we are.

I have narrow feet and was looking for a shoe that would hold my narrow heels in when walking / running. These shoes provide the perfect amount of support for me when running and are extremely comfortable right out of the box.

I did notice my socks started wearing out much faster than normal in the upper heel shortly after I started using them. I am usually able to use my shoes for well over a year before they start wearing out.

These did not wear out in the usual way. After about 8 months of low mileage running the inner material by the upper heels has started to disintegrate. I expect to get more usage out of my shoes and prefer my shoes not to wear out my socks.

They are still the most comfortable shoe I could find after trying many, however. I just wish Asics would do better producing something that is more durable.

I am disappointed with the changes that have been made to this shoe. The width at the front of the shoe is much wider, probably equivalent to a B fitting with less support. The upper fabric of the show is softer and lighter, but the supporting strapping and structure around the front of the shoe has been removed.

This compromises foot stability and the shoe distorts in shape when I walk. Also, the material used on the sole of the shoe seems to be made of harder plastic, it has much less grip/traction and is very slippery on ordinary wet concrete.

The most positive comment I can offer is that I like the colour – the grey/black marle is lovely, however the functionality of the shoe is very much diminished, nor does it fulfil the description of the purpose of the shoe as supporting pronated feet as published on your site.

Very disappointed and will have to look elsewhere for a better option.

I have been buying the GT-2000 for the last 10-12 years. I found it to be the most comfortable and least reactive shoe to help manage my plantar fasciitis (with the help of an orthotic). I wear it daily (as my main shoe) and spend at least half my day on my feet (medical professional).

I do find that the shoe does tend to wear out on the lateral aspect over the pinky toe (holes happen here). Over all I love it and would recommend it 100%. HOWEVER, I have a wide foot and need a larger size (10.

5) and I have been very disappointed in color options for wide shoes in this size. It is invariably a black shoe option. And if there is a second option (IF) it is a dull choice. Please give more color options in the wide shoes in this size range!!!! Bright blue, regular blue, green, purple, something fun that is not pink!!!!.

I’ve put hundreds of miles on versions 10 and 11 of the 1080, and I can say that version 12 is the better of the three by a considerable margin. Most of it has to do with getting rid of the god-awful “UltraHeel” but there are other subtle improvements that take the 12 to the next level.

First, the Fresh Foam tuning. This is still your long haul, easy miles daily cruiser, but the compound in the 12 is slightly (really, just slightly) firmer, slightly bouncier than previous versions. I’ve found myself enjoying the ride far more than I expected.

The Fresh Foam here is dense, substantial, and it feels durable. Second, there as been a slight improvement on the lockdown across the midfoot, which I was not expecting but it feels welcome. In versions 10 and 11, I remember often feeling like the the top and sides of my foot were irritated by the rigid structure that surrounded the midfoot cage–not quite Ultraboost midfoot cage territory, but still enough to notice.

Now, I feel very well locked down without any sort of obvious bunching, pinching, or other unpleasantness. I think some of this has to do with a better heel lockdown; I’m simply not cranking the laces like I felt I had to before.

But the rest of the upper has improved, too, which is commendable. Finally, the shoe just *looks* better. I love the design of this version, and it makes me want to reach for it more. The weird veiny vibe of 10 and 11 is gone, and I couldn’t be happier about that.

Overall, what a shoe, and what an improvement! I’m so excited to spend the summer cruising in the 1080v12.

I have to say at first I was skeptical I read all of the reviews and I had never ever invested in an expensive shoe. When I put my foot in the shoe and I stepped down oh my God it felt so comfortable it’s the most comfortable shoe that I have ever purchased in my life I feel so good in them that I don’t want to even take them off.

If you are looking for a very comfortable shoe lightweight that has plenty of space in the front I highly recommend this shoe. I have flat feet and I thought they were big in the front because I just feel like I have space but when I checked and I felt My foot it was just perfect.

I am never buying a $30 tennis shoe in my life again. You truly get what you pay for and I am in love with the comfort feeling of this shoe. it is truly the best investment and best birthday gift that I could give myself I am going this Saturday to the better back store to get Measured for some inserts and I can’t even imagine how my foot is going to feel then if it already feels so good I highly recommend this product and I’m not even trying to overexaggerate nobody is paying me to give this review but I just had to leave this review for everyone to know that my feet are literally walking on clouds.

I did not buy the yellow color shoes the ones I bought were the black wide size 8 but I can imagine they all feel the same.

Six months ago I underwent a four-hour foot surgery to help correct the damage sustained due to having polio as a child. After healing and starting to walk again (months on a knee cart!) I soon realized that my New Balance shoes were the only ones in my closet that were comfortable enough for my “new” foot.

I no longer need to wear a brace tucked into my shoe – YEAH! – but my New Balance shoes are STILL the best shoe for me. I am gradually building back up to my pre-surgery levels of walking two miles or more each morning, and my New Balance shoes are with me every step.

Can’t thank you enough for making such a wonderful product. I do miss some of the older models I have purchased in the past but I am experimenting with new models. I have worn New Balance for years and have no intention of changing now.

There was a slight break-in period for comfortable walking, and the right heel seemed to feel deformed or not supportive. I had to change the stock insole with a NB cross training insole which made it better.

I like the roomy toe box plenty of width wiggle room. I would by a smaller size though at least by a half size, these shoes run big. The length of the laces are fine as long as you don’t lace up all the way.

One irk I have and can’t seem to get used to is that this shoe feel hot as if you had wool socks on or even wearing a boot. I think the upper material has something to do with it because no other show I wear has the same reaction.

I may change into three different shoes in one day and when I wear these 840s the heat is on. Other than that it isn’t that bad of a shoe.

I have been wearing NB shoes for 20+ years. I started with the 1220 and purchased every 1200 series they ever made. But, these days I had to switch to another model so I tried their “Fresh Foam” shoes.

Fresh Foam isn’t for me, even though I own a pair, because the foam lacks the cushioning of the 1200 series. If you are a heavier runner the 940V4 is the shoes to replace the 1260. It has plenty of cushioning, very wide toe box and runs slighter bigger than the Fresh Foam models.

I found the size of the 940V4 to be similar to the 1260 series. I have been forced to purchase my size, 11. 5 2E, from other vendors because RR Sports doesn’t keep it in stock. If you are looking for a motion control shoe with real cushioning, unlike the Fresh Foam, then this is your NB shoe.

i used the 990 and was so so happy. i suffer from plantar fasciitis and had a very hard time finding a good orthotic. long story short. i found the 990 and together with my orthotics i was pain free for 2 years.

now there is no 990 in size 7 so the shoe store i went to gave me this. what can i tell you , my pain is back again because there is no siz 7 in womens 990. now im back to square one. this shoe is comfortable and lightweight.

thats it. i cant give anything positive bec. i have pain. the sole is foam unlike the 990 it was rubber and had a good support and bounce. this one does not have bounce and not enough space to fit in my orthotic and the back slips a little.

the shoe store told me ill get used to it. that actually doesnt bother. the pain does. why cant new balance get themselves togehter and do the 990 again? its made in united states. there is no issue with importing it.

i dont understand. and now i dont know what im going to do. i stay on my feet for many hours and im scared im going to have all the pain come back which is starting for the last 4-5 days since i bought these shoes.

im really in a bad place. i dont know what ill do. for sure go back to the shoe store to try a different shoe.

First off I recommend buying these a half size smaller than your usual size and wider(2e) if you are a D width to offset the shorter length. If you do that these will fit you like a glove and you will perform better.

Socks are almost a must with these as the ribbed tongue and heel will chafe your skin. However, with a sock(crew preferably)they will actually grip the fabric a bit giving you an almost connective sensation from calf to foot.

These are a unique looking pair of shoes with a rippled mesh upper and straps for the laces instead of eyelets. I replaced the flat laces with oval ones and got less pinching strain on the straps. They’re a lower drop cushion shoe but I still think the Minimus is more ideal for squats and deadlifts.

That being said the fresh foam on these were not overly spongey and I did the leg press without issue. Other exercises were executed without issue but I found drastic lateral movements required more concentration to prevent rolling.

Good shock absorption when landing from pullups and the toe box bends easily, which I like. All in all I must say these are good trainers with a very unique look. I only hope New Balance expands this category.

I have used them all and multiple shoes per 1080 iteration. Still think V2 was best for comfort, build quality and wear but all are the best shoe available on the market I have found for my VERY narrow feet, heavy weight (6/4″ 175) and high mile runs (60+ miles/week).

That stated, this is the most comfortable, best cushioning and fitting version to date – wanna read on???? Read to the end because there is a significant downside if it applies to your needs. First the upsides: 1.

This is without a doubt the most comfortable 1080 shoe in terms of fit ever. They have managed to make the body of the shoe even more snug (in a positive manner) than before so fits like a sock more than a shoe yet dispensed with the accompanying narrow toe box (which I liked for reasons of psychological feel) that resulted in many a black ugly toe.

2. For those with extremely narrow feet, there is no more potato chipping over the instep! Perhaps due to more flexible material or better eyelet design but welcome!! 3. They have joined the tongue to the body so it is no longer required to have the laces interact with the tongue over the most sensitive part of the instep – had only seen this in trail shoes previously and wondered why nobody did for road guys.

Who wants a tongue floating and bunching over long runs??? 4. FINALLY! New Balance has laces that don’t require retying minimum once during runs (even if double knotted)! My God I love these laces, thin, comfortable not too stretchy and STAY tied! 5.

The Fresh Foam will disappoint you with its cushioning the first run, only that it will feel about same as previous 1080 iterations. HOWEVER, from the second run on, the cushioning is demonstrably superior in every way.

No more sore knees the day after a long 20 miler!! 6. While it may seem petty, the tread pattern of the Fresh Foam 1080 is vastly less susceptible to holding stones and as a result much quieter and more confidence.

Bought a pair of these after the outdoor track season ended and my pair of Brooks Glycerins had reached the end of their life. I’ve trained in heavier, supportive shoes since high school so I figured I would try out a new brand and go for a lighter shoe, and these did not disappoint.

Coming from Brooks it was a little weird getting used to the 6 mm drop, but it definitely helped me stay on my toes and more upright in my stride. Cushioning is decent – during the break-in period the shoe felt a little stiff to me, but that might’ve been because I was simply more used to Brooks’ cushioning.

Very easy to go fast in these due to the 6 mm drop and the light weight, but they also provide enough support for longer efforts. I put in around 40-50 miles a week during the summer and just about 30 a week the past three months, and they have only recently started to show signs of their age.

Overall quite satisfied with my experience with this pair of trainers. My only complaint is that the shoe is a little wide around the front, but that might be because my feet are small.

Absolutely love these shoes, I actually do not want to take them off! Decided to give them a good few tests before reviewing. I have been running in Mizuno the past 8-9 years (previously Brooks) but the two most recent Mizuno pairs were awful to wear because they would not accommodate my orthotics as other models previously had – not enough height to fit them in and so they were super tight.

I decided to go back to Brooks (after finding some physiotherapist reviews recommending them if you need orthotics) and am so relieved I did. The D width is liberating for my wider foot and the height of the shoe is excellent.

They are also super comfy and perform brilliantly on my modest 5km runs, as well as for sprints. Traction has been great on rainy footpath runs and the shoe dries out quickly. Couldn’t be happier with them.

I have a lot of things going on with my feet; edema, gout, bunion, neurapothy, bone spur, arthritis. I’m in pain everday. To find a shoe that is comfortable is extremely hard to do. These are wide enough, light weight, give support and yes comfortable! They are cute too.

I wear an 11 E so to find a shoe that is actually that side for box big enough, that is not like a cement block to walk in and do not make my feet look like astronaut boots, in I’m sold. I only have ever purchased the ” bailey” shoe before and have worn them out and no longer supportive of comfy, but they were until inside them out.

But these are better!.
