20 Best Women’S Hiking Boots For High Arches (2023 Updated)

I just wore these yesterday for a small walk/hike. They are comfortable. Have ample cushion in the bottom. I did go up a size and that was without thicker hike socks. I wish there was one more lacing grommet or way to secure the laces just a bit higher on the ankle.

Right now my foot flexes and the laces don’t secure my ankle/leg in all the way. I have to work to adjust differently. This does not cause rubbing or chaffing but more of just opening the shoe up instead of being completely secure.

I like the colors and the sole.

These are fairly lightweight, yet sturdy and durable. They have an excellent tread on the bottoms for a great grip when you walk. They are just high enough on the ankle and padded and shaped around the back of the boot to give really great support to the ankle.

It is also relatively easy to cinch-in the laces for a snug fit (not so easy with some hiking boot laces). I usually wear 7. 5 or 8, and the 8 fit very well with a medium weight sock. When comparing the price of other hiking boots, these are a really great boot for the price, and cute looking to boot!.

I needed an ankle-supportive boot for walking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This has sturdy support at the ankle, while still being comfortable on my feet. Hi-Tek makes a good hiking boot. Although the pink accents wouldn’t have been my first choice, they aren’t a garish tone, and frankly, the color was irrelevant.

These fit well right out of the box, and caused no issues, even during first use. Recommended.

Finally a shoe that fits. I’ve tried 4-5 brands of hiker’s for daughter so nice she was about 12 and she always complained the didn’t feet right. Now 19, she is moving to AK, so having quality is a priority.

We went to sporting store, again, and tried on 7-8 pairs and a Columbia pair fit, but what was in stock was more a hunting boot. but we had a size and, being older, she realized that it was the arch that did not fit in keen, vasques, rocky or the Walmart hikers.

We ordered these and after keeping them on 10 minutes, she asked if she could wear them all the time. THAT is the statement that says it all. Her everyday foot wear has be converse all these years, and didn’t enjoy hiking or hunting near as much in other hikers because her feet hurt, and she always opted to wear her converse, which have limitations when hiking on uneven rocky terrain.

I can’t tell you how happy we are that after 7 years, we finally found a hiker that fits comfortably and has all day comfort. I did add silicone repellant to the fabric weave area and seal oil to the boot leather, as stated these are going to be daily wear in AK.

And because they are on sale, I’m ordering a second pair for a Christmas present.

I love these boots. I find they fit and feel like good quality tennis shoes. I have 3 pairs because they fit well and are comfortable and wear much better than tennis shoes. I should mention though as someone else pointed out, if you do not use the top lace guides push them closed with pliers!! This is very important!! I also was tripped by the loop of the lace on the right foot catching in the eye on the inside of the left boot.

(I do not use the top lace guides) I slip my feet into my boots without lacing each time so I have them loose at the ankle. I do not need the ankle support, but I like that they are tall for keeping water out of the boot and ankle protection.

I waterproof them with silicone to protect them and they have always kept my feet dry in wet environments. I have a pair of 7. 5 to wear with light weight socks in the summer. That is what size I wear in tennis shoes.

I also have a pair of 8. 5 to wear with medium socks. I recently bought a pair of 9’s to wear with really heavy socks. I do replace the stock insoles with more padded ones and they fit fine. I have somewhat wide feet and often purchase wide shoes, but the regular width on these fits me fine.

Live in Oregon, needed a decent waterproof winter boot, for everyday running around town or play, preferably warm enough to handle a few snow days. The snow seems to be done this winter so I haven’t checked them out in that element but these definitely work in rain, waterproof and grip well.

I wish these were a bit warmer which is why I didn’t give 5 stars, that and the part above the ankle is a bit stiff. But, these do feel like a tennis shoe, light, comfortable enough for long day wear despite my arthritic toes and these look really cool – even in this teal surprisingly.

I got that color because it was on clearance and thought they’d be loud but no! It’s darker than the picture. I wear a size 9 and after reading reviews, bought size 9 Wide. Fits fine with room for a thicker sock.

For the price, I think you really get a great bang for your buck.

My goddaughter in New York recommended these boots after reading very good reviews about them knowing I was struggling to choose new ones. The actual boot is very comfortable and fits well. I was told by a podiatrist to always buy a size larger in a trainer and walking boot so I purchased a 5 although my normal shoe size is 4.

On my second wearing I got a blister on my ankle above my heal, I have very sensitive feet so wasn’t surprised, the ankle cuffs are a little hard. I did however read a review that advised wearers to watch a YouTube video on how to tie laces properly on walking boots.

I found a Trekkit video and was amazed at how differently they advise how to tie laces than I tie mine. I’m waiting for my blister to heal before trying this technique but I’m confident that it will make a big difference.

Overall I think the boots are comfortable, subject to more breaking in, they look good and seem to be waterproof as I walked in puddles without a problem. 10 out of 10 after a few more wears I’m confident.

I bought these at the end of March as a replacement for my Merrell Pulsate (discontinued-lasted 2. 5 years for everyday use and hikes). The sole started wearing off unusually rapidly after 38 days of daily walking (288 km) and two hiking trips (total of 25 km).

These are purchased in Quebec and I used them when the temperature ranges between -10 to +10 degrees (not warm enough to massively deform rubber at such a fast rate). As far as stability and comfort goes these shoes are indeed exceptional (great lateral stability, uphill and downhill tractions, & etc.

) and it was sad that I had to return them. For warranty, I went to MEC store at Longueuil and talked to the store manager (very rude) and he was accusing me of using them for walking on pavement and giving me lectures about how this is completely my fault.

Here is MEC description for these shoes: “Durable enough for brushy trails and versatile enough to lace up every day. ” MEC, could you please explain what “everyday use” means before accusing your customers?.

I really wan’t to love these hiking shoes but can’t. I got them because I wanted something lighter than my hiking boots for when I’m traveling. They’re not so light and they run way too big. I’m normally a size 10, sometimes a 9.

5, and I ordered a 10 and they were huge. I exchanged for a 9. 5 and they were still pretty big. I exchanged yet again for a smaller size and the 9 fit a bit too snug for my liking but I’m sure they’ll stretch out.

My biggest problem with the shoe is the back. It feels like the heel of my foot is going to slip out every time I take a step and it’s really annoying and uncomfortable. I own dozens of pairs of shoes and this is the only pair I have that feels like this so I know it’s not me and it’s the shoe.

I’ve tried lacing them up tightly but it really didn’t do anything. They’re not terrible, but definitly not for me.

These are wonderful for long walks/hikes! Super comfy (nicely padded inside) and keep my feet dry and cozy. Great for uneven terrain, rocks, wet ground, etc. I’ve worn them quite a lot by now and I am so happy with them I bought a second pair.

Although I bought my normal shoe size, I think they run a tad big, because I wear them with very thick socks and they fit perfectly. Also, I love that it has metal hooks (and not cloth loops) to wrap the ties around toward the top–I have seen cloth loops tear off.

Cannot recommend these highly enough! Too bad they are not sold in DSW stores, only online, because I’d love to be able to try on different styles from this brand.

This shoe held up to my rigid expectation for a hiking shoe! My first choice was Keens or Merrells, but I couldn’t find anything I liked in my size. So I broadened my search and thought I’d just try another brand.

I wore these shoes all day after I got them without any break-in time, and they were solid, comfortable and looked really good. I got mine in a 7. 5, which is my normal size, but believe I could have gotten them in a 7 for Summer walks (for light weight socks).

But this size allows me to wear heavier socks in the Winter and still be comfortable. I would definitely purchase again!.

I bought these boots for my son to hike a portion of the AT and to summit Mt. Khatadin in. He wore these boots around the house and to school and he found them to be very comfortable. The problem began when he was on his hike.

He was wearing a pair of toe socks and a pair of Darn Tough socks (he wore this combination last summer when he hiked the Vermont along Trail in a different pair of boots and he had no problems). He was carrying a 30 pound pack and within the first 15 miles of the hike he developed blisters on both of his heels.

When I reached out to Salomon I was told that the boots were out of the 30 day comfort warranty. They recommended that he wear two pairs of socks and put blister tape on his heels. When I reached out again to explain that we had already done their suggestions while he was on the hike minus the blister tape I was told that the boots were out of warranty and that he should have worn them around the house during the first 30 days, which he also had done.

I am very disappointed that Salomon does not stand behind their product after only 20 miles of use.

Hiking boots have always hurt my toes or ankles after wearing them for a while, but these boots have been so comfortable. I haven’t had any pain at all while wearing them. I specifically looked at Salomon as I read that they fit wide feet well and I found this to absolutely be the case.

However, I did size down on these boots a half size, as they are known to run a bit large (pro tip, I took out the insole and stood with my foot on them to test the sizing). At first, I looked at the Salomon Quest 4 Boots which are quite popular, but these boots were cheaper and I couldn’t find any major differences in the build of the boots (nor could the sales attendant who helped me).

They do seem a bit lighter than the other boots, but I like that as I can also wear them to walk the dog or just go for a quick hike. As far as waterproofing, so far they have held up amazingly on muddy and rainy hikes.

Overall, I would highly recommend these boots.

I bought these in April, the waterproofing of the boots has already failed. The left boot gets wet, the right boot is completely failed and I’ve poured water out of it despite wearing gortex rain pants so it’s definitely not leaking from the top.

I’ve used them for a campground job where a majority of they’re use is not actually hiking but light walking and the overall wetness of mopping the floor so they haven’t been worn down from extraneous use and haven’t been submerged multiple times.

The first time encountering actual water from a separate incident for work where water proof shoes were required, they soaked my feet completely. Unfortunately using warranty seems to so far only given a voucher of the same price of the boots for their American site without shipping to Canada, and their Canadian site has no options and the only way to get an equivalent is for me to still pay out of pocket for the next level up.

MEC hasn’t done anything wrong in the case as I went straight to the manufacturer and am getting a run around there.

Just bought a new pair to replace a pair I wore out after about 11 months. Boots held up relatively well. The sole is getting a little thin near the front and I am replacing to get some traction back.

I have put about 300 miles on these in mixed conditions and the current pair is actually still functional for less rugged surfaces. I ran into a minor problem where the insole on one boot managed to compress into the waffle part of the sole, causing some discomfort.

I stuffed a little toilet paper in there, which solved the issue and extended use of these to the present. Weight is good. They don’t feel heavy or tire you out. They fit me nicely and have been comfortable on trail hikes in excess of 7 miles.

They’re not waterproof, but they don’t let a lot of water in unless you’re standing in it. They’ve been general good about water resistance walking through mud, around shallow streams, or very damp fields/grasses.

A decent boot all around without considering the price. Price considered, its difficult to complain. I think even if you’re looking for something higher quality, you could chuck a pair of these in the trunk or something like that for emergencies and it would be worth the purchase.

I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised on the quality of these boots, especially at this price range. They’re exceptionally well built, incredibly comfortable, and even though they’re not waterproof, they do a good job at keeping out the moisture.

The mesh allows my feet to breathe just enough to keep my feet cool during the summer and warm during the winter without getting sweaty (a good feature to have for those with stinky toes). Regarding their comfort, I would have to give these, in their natural state, three out of five stars.

After purchasing and installing a memory foam footbed, these are the most comfortable pair of boots I own. If you do want that extra comfort, I would recommend buying your boots a half size bigger to compensate for the extra room needed for the insole.

Within 5 minutes of putting these boots on, my feet felt like they were on fire. These boots have no ventilation and no cushion. I can feel every pebble, rock and branch I stepped on. After my first hike I had multiple blisters on each foot.

I tried wearing them in and wearing non-blister socks to no avail. On the positive side, they are durable. I have washed them twice and the have kept their shape.

I bought these as a gift for my mom on Mother’s Day. She LOVED them! She has another pair of Forsakes (also a gift) and she would tell me how great they were for travel. She had expressed needing a new pair of hiking boots, so she was gifted these.

Long story short, she wore them while hiking South Dakota. She said they are just as light weight as her travel shoes, but she feels sturdy in them! My mom also mentioned that she loved the color combo!.

Bought this to replace the $30 hiking boots I kept buying and hating. These are Uber comfortable and flex well with all your movement while still being supportive. I like that they loosen right up when you take them off.

No fiddling around with laces to get them off your feet. Light weight enough for leisurely and everyday activities but still rugged enough for lots of different terrain. Cutest and best hiking boots I’ve ever owned.

Just got back from a hiking trip in Colorado and I cannot say enough good things about these hiking boots! These boots are extremely comfortable, stylish, and best of all- my feet never got tired from carrying a 30 pound baby on my back in a backpack.

I’m obsessed with these boots. The price is worth it, and I’d honestly pay more because of how much I love them. I tried to upload a photo, but having issues with uploading.

Bought these for a hiking trip to the National Parks. I did not break them in and per other reviewers, they were comfortable and I had no issues. I did wear them around the house a few times to try out socks/fit.

I would recommend wearing socks that come past the top of the shoe. The first socks were slightly under and where the tongue of the shoe met the ankle there was painful pressure/rubbing. With the higher socks, no problems at all.

It did rain all week and while I did not step in anything that covered the shoe, my feet were dry in rainy conditions. Dried mud brushed right off, bottom had enough grip. Bought my normal size and there was room in the toe area for thicker socks without being snug.

Would highly recommend.

I’ve been wanting a new pair of hiking boots, but many of them feel too heavy on my feet. These are so lightweight and comfortable right out of the box! The ankle is high enough to provide support but not feel restricting.

I love the colors and more of a tennis shoe style. I haven’t truly tested out how waterproof the are, but I don’t tend to hike in wet conditions anyway. I got my usual size 8 and there was plenty of room to wear thicker socks without being too tight.

There was a little extra room in the toe box that I appreciate when I hike. If you like a more snug shorter fit, you could size down a half size and be ok.

I got my greenwood gv’s on a hunch at my local outdoor store. They felt comfortable and the price was right, so I bought them and quickly realized these were my new favorite boot. I’ve been wearing them for 2 years now and even replaced my work boots with them.

No more sore or tired feet, these things can hang all day on a construction site, a walk to town or a serious hike. I’ve even used these with my gaffs and climbed up telephone poles with them… seriously these are the boots that can do it all.

I tried on several hiking boots in this category; (durable light to medium weight) and these Greenwood’s were above all the most comfortable, stable boot of all of them. Very god cushion and solid underfoot.

I’d been wanting a pair of these for quite sometime and I’m more than happy with the fit, feel & integrity. I was also very surprised to see all this durability in such a lite presentation. Dope & perfect for urban trekking.

I got these boots in March, they had everything I was looking for. Sewn-in toe cap, minimal seams, tough leather construction, and goretex waterproofing. But excellent build quality means nothing if they don’t fit well.

Pros: These boots have some of the best build quality I’ve seen in a market saturated by lightweight hikers and trail runners. The full grain leather with minimal seams is easy to clean and re-treat the waterproofing, and the soles held up well to 100+ miles of rocky trails all over Colorado, Wyoming, and California.

Cons: Unfortunately these boots just weren’t for me. The first 30 miles or so would give me blisters on my left pinky toe. I resorted to sock liners under my Darn Tough socks which helped a bit and eventually the blisters went away.

Even though the blisters were gone, my pinky toes and big toe still felt rubbing and pain. The rubbing is caused by the seam where the plastic toe cap connects with the leather. If you stick your hand inside the boot you can feel the edge of the plastic toe cap.

This was not immediately apparent until after the first few hikes I did in them and I figured it was something that would have gotten better as I wore the boots more. Since the plastic toe caps won’t stretch and conform to your foot, the pain didn’t get any better as the rest of the boot got worn in.

Unfortunately this seems to be a rather common complaint about the St Elias. If Vasque can find a way to correct this, then this boot would be perfect. To summarize, the boot is built like a tank, between the sewn-in plastic toe cap, goretex construction, the one piece full grain leather, and the burly soles and cushioning.

I really wanted to like them as they had every feature I was looking for. But the pain caused by the toe cap seam got to be frustrating especially after having worn the boots for 100+ miles to break them in.

So unfortunately they went back to REI. Hopefully another adventurer will have better luck with them than I did.

I have worn these boots for 2 seasons of very heavy use and they are wonderful. I won’t comment on the fit or comfort because that depends on who is wearing the boots. The soles are very grippy on all terrain that I’ve encountered including a few icy and snowy hands on scrambles.

They also have good traction on wet rock. The waterproofing has been very good, I’ve never had any issues. They don’t breath since they are gortex + leather (no surprise there), but I’ve backpacked and hiked comfortably in upper 20’s C and low 30 C temperature and was still comfortable.

If you are hiking in hot weather with these it is a good idea to air your feet out every once in a while and wear wool socks because they will absorb more sweat without feeling soaked. The leather is very nice quality and If you take care of it with wax (I make my own beeswax/olive oil mixture then use a blow dryer to melt the wax into the leather) it will have extra water resistance and last a very long time.

The rubber toecap is a good feature but I would’ve liked to have seen it over molded as I think this would make it more robust but I have not had any issues so that is just nit picking. Lastly, the metal hardware used for the laces is very robust and will last a very long time (a feature I look for in good boots.

Overall these boots have been a lot kinder to me than I have been to them. They have many battle scars and gashes from bushwhacking and scrambling yet they have still been very forgiving and continue to serve me well.

I just replaced a 3rd generation pair of Salomon Quest 4D boots with the St. Elias, and so far these are better boots in every way. I can’t comment on durability yet as I’ve only used them on 4 hikes, but they do seem very well made.

While the Salomons were good boots, the St. Elias is more comfortable and has better traction on every surface, dry, wet, gravel, mud, snow, etc. Fit: I’m a size 10 in just about every type of athletic and casual shoe, but I size down to 9.

5 in Red Wing boots, and size up for Scarpa boots (43. 5 EU for the Zen Pros, 44 EU for the Zodiacs and Ribelles). The St. Elias in size 10 is perfect for me, with enough room in the toes. I don’t have a wide foot per se, but I’m on the wide side of a regular width foot, and my toes don’t taper as much as most guys feet seem to do; narrow boots do not fit me well and these are fine.

I wear the Smartwool Performance Hike Light Crew socks (old version was the Smartwool PhD Outdoor Light Crew) which have light cushioning. Break-in: I’ve read some reviews that say there is no break-in period, but that was not my experience.

They were a little stiff and felt a tad snug around my midfoot on my first couple of hikes. I even had a blister after my first short hike (~4 miles), but I’m not sure if it was because of the stiff leather, or because I had tied them too tight.

On the next couple of hike, I was still getting a couple of hot spots where the toe cap meets the leather, but I was able to alleviate those by loosening the lacing over the top of my foot. Once I learned not to overtighten the laces, I was surprised at how well these boots hold my foot in place, even going downhill or sidehilling, with absolutely no pressure points.

Waterproofing: Yes, they have Gore-Tex, and yes, the first time I wore them, I stepped in a stream and the water literally just beaded up and rolled off. They are waterproof out of the box. However, after walking through rocky terrain and plunge stepping through snow, whatever the leather is treated with was visibly rubbing off, and the leather was already absorbing water.

If you only hike on manicured trails and step through an occasional stream every now and then, the leather treatment may last longer, but keep in mind that Gore-Tex doesn’t protect the leather. Protecting the leather, on the other hand, will help to protect the Gore-Tex membrane.

So, after breaking these in on 3 hikes, I cleaned them well, took the extra step of sealing around the outsole with GearAid Aquaseal, and then applied a couple thin coats of Obenauf’s LP. I subsequently took them on a snow scramble and was very happy with the water repellency.

I really appreciate how these boots have minimal seams and stitching, which means less potential points of failure for water to find it’s way through. Comfort: These boots are very supportive without feeling rigid (once you break them in past the initial stiffness) and Vasque puts a very nice insole in there.

I did a fairly strenuous 9 mile RT hike with about a mile of elevation gain, through sustained steep forest and snow and I was tired at the end of the day but my feet were not. The Salomon Quests might feel a little more nimble because the sole assembly is slightly softer and thinner, but the St Elias really makes up for that with better traction and protection.

If you’re kicking steps in snow or up forested hillsides, you’ll appreciate the slightly stiffer, chunkier sole with a solid toe cap. These boots do run on the warm side, like most Gore-Tex boots, and if your feet tend to sweat then I don’t recommend them for mid-summer backpacking but they are not as warm as the Salomon Quest.

These are perfect for shoulder season, and will work just fine for some winter conditions too, as long as it’s not too cold (maybe don’t go below 25F?) and you aren’t overnighting or doing anything technical.

These sadly did not work out for me. My Sky Toa’s were starting to show some wear in the uppers so I decided to get a new pair of Hoka hiking boots. Unfortunately the Sky Toa’s seem to be discontinued so I ordered the Otter/Black Anacapa’s.

Out of the box, they were pretty to look at and true to size. I tried them out on a 6 mile hike and nothing rubbed but I noticed some heel pain which is unusual for me when wearing Hoka’s. There was also more than the usual amount of trail debris in the shoes and it you don’t tie them just right, the eyelets rubbed on my ankles, but hey they are pretty! The following week I did two 10 mile hikes which is not unusual for me.

Unfortunately by the end of the second hike the pain in my right heel was really bad and I realized that I had plantar fasciitis which ironically I haven’t had since I started wearing Hoka’s. We were on a hiking vacation so that was not an ideal situation.

I switched back to my Sky Toa’s (and upped my mileage as I didn’t have a choice) and the plantar fasciitis resolved itself. I’m not sure what in the design of the Anacapa’s caused my feet to fall differently but having been sidelined in the past with Plantar Fasciitis I’m not going to risk it with these shoes.

I’ll stick with my Sky Toa’s until they fall apart and hope that Hoka brings them back.

I bought these to try a different version of The North Face Vectiv line of hiking boots. The Vectiv Exploris has a much more rounded sole – sort of like the old Skechers walking shoes with the rocker sole.

These are not quite as rounded but still feel very supportive and still have a little push when you walk. Like an assist when moving and really kind of different. Anyway, they just feel really cushy and you can barely feel any rocks under foot but the traction is outstanding.

I haven’t had a chance to try them in really wet conditions but they seem to be able to handle the slick surfaces. The best part in my opinion is that they feel like soft sneakers but are supportive like a regular hiking boot without all the stiffness.

No break in at all is required. In other words, they are perfect! I bought a women’s size 9 (which is my usual size) and they fit perfectly.

Warning: Runs small! In most sneakers brands, I am either 6,5 or 7, so I thought 7 would be fine in these shoes, but nope. I went to the store and ended up buying 7. 5 and even considered 8. Definitely size up! It is not narrow for my feet, which are neither narrow nor wide, though.

I got them in goblin blue, love the color. Not a huge fan of the design but this looked the best to me among the available designs. Wore them on my way back home since it started to rain a lot; I had training socks without any cushioning on, the left half irritated the back of my ankle and would have probably blistered it if I had to hike in them today, but the front side of the shoes are not too stiff; I think your feet wouldn’t hurt after the break-in day.

They were waterproof today, but I am yet to see how durable and comfortable they are in long hikes.

I’m between 9 and 9. 5 consistently. I thought I saw these ran big so I went with a 9 and they were too small. The exchange was super easy and the 9. 5 fit great. They came just as we got a bunch of snow, so I was able to enjoy their warmth, grip, and waterproofing in the following days for errands and walking the dog.

My heels felt a little blistered the first day I wore them but afterwards they were very comfortable even for a long walk. I don’t do much hiking but I believe the higher ankles will provide a lot of stability.

I have seen other reviews citing their durability was lacking but I haven’t had these long enough to notice anything. The material does seem like rough treatment would scuff or damage the boot but they’re so comfortable I don’t think I’d stop wearing them.

They’re also super cute and come with two pairs of laces.

I got a pair of these boots as a present from my sister last year. She was super happy with her pair and I was excited to try them out. As an archaeologist, I can walk a lot and I am very picky about my boots.

I loved these boots so much I have worn them on every survey project (hiking/backpacking) and excavation for work on top of wearing them almost every day during the colder months. Right out of the box, these boots were awesome.

I have probably put over 1,000 miles on these boots to date. I’ve worn them through sand dunes (no sand broke through!), snow and rain (the waterproofing is no joke), and various rough terrain including jagged rocks, thick brush, and steep slopes; these boots never disappointed.

They were light weight and extremely comfortable but still sturdy enough to put up with almost everything I put them through. I did have to replace the insoles at about 500 miles and the tread of the boots started to wear at about 700 miles.

The interior fabric of the heel portion of my boots also just ripped on this last session causing my first set of blisters. Despite this, I still love them. I highly recommend these boots to anyone. Whether you want just a solid pair of boots to wear around every day or are an avid hiker, these boots will not disappoint.

I am getting a new pair and I have been recommending these to all of my coworkers when they are in the market for new boots. At some point, I’d love to see this style (or another) with a composite toe so I can also wear them to monitoring job sites.

That would make my day! Regardless, great job and I am looking forward to using these boots for (hopefully) years to come.

Ok to be honest I wasn’t expecting to be that excited over these. My brother is a huge fan and finally convinced me to try Forsake. My first test was a 6 mile hike in Bryce Canyon last summer. People actually stopped me to ask who made my boots.

They’re darn cute that’s for sure. I did get some hot spots initially, but the boots broke in quickly. I’ve hiked through all sorts of conditions since, multiple miles at a time, and been so comfortable! They stand up to snow and rain so well.

Though I haven’t done much river fording in them, I didn’t need to jump small creeks. Feet stay dry! The grip is good enough for most terrain and lacing them up tight provides enough stabilization for most hikes.

Would I take these on technical trails or multiday backpacks? Probably not. I think they’d get destroyed by rugged use. But they are perfect for those day hikes on decent trails and around town in between.

They do scuff, and quickly, but I think it adds character and it isn’t hard to treat the leather to restore. All in all I’m converted. These are by far the cutest, most functional, and most comfortable day hikers I’ve ever had!.

No doubt the shoes are of great build but when I order on Aug 2022, I at least expect I should get a fresh stock. In my case my boots are almost 3 years old, i e. 2019 manufactured. Which is quiet a shelf life.

Though it comes with a warranty and all, I doubt how capable these will be with its waterproof USP. Many mfg/ used like marks/ creases on leather as well. Very disappointed with ‘online’ convenience of Decathlon.

Physical exchange is not available at any store if purchased online. Only have to return and get refund then again buy it. My size is UK47 which is generally not available at any local stores. And If I buy again online, there is no guarantee that I will be getting fresh/ unused / brand new product which costs 8k.

I am dissatisfied with Decathlon’s trekking shoes for the second time. The last ones broke on the their very first hike ‘Churdhar’. As a devoted customer, I tried to regain my confidence in the company, but these shoes are a waste of money.

As an experienced trekker, I would never recommend for anyone to try these shoes. Though the sole and pad are comfortable, the front above part is so rigid that it caused wounds on both of my legs after 3 hours of trekking.

The leather has already changed shape after just one trek, and the shoes are not at all water resistant for 6 hours that too in slow rain. Decathlon needs to put more attention into developing its trekking shoe R&D.

I had purchased this pair from mumbai, Atria Showroom. In the beginning, i was impressed with its material and features, but as i started trying it out at home before the himalayan trek, i obsereved that there is a curve gap inside behind the heel side.

I tried to knot the laces with different tightness but still, while walking, my heel started moving inside in that gap. Tying up shoe evry tight, gives discomfort and the leather is too thick and hard.

So it gives heavy feeling on feet. (This was twice shown to the showroom representative and i also tried adding gel sole inside. But it did not work) High ankle is not comfortable like trek 100 (older version Forclaz 500) and it hurts on the back side over ankle.

It is also wide on upper feet so it doesnt fit on my narrow foot from inside, just as forclaz 500 used to fit perfectly. Still, I have just used it on Pangarchulla Trek (5 to 10 Dec) without additional gel insole, on normal and snowvy terrain and it was not comfortable at all.

Legs started paining. So for my immediate next trek, i am now renting out thr Trek 100 (old Forclaz 500), so i would be able to finish my upcoming trek (12 to 18 dec) without any pain Though the features and material is really good, but I am not satisfied with its performance.

I may recommend this to others but for me, it is not suiting to my feet Would like to change this and try another model of trek 100, if Decathlon is ready to replace after doing one trek in this pair.
