20 Best Women’S Bike For Overweight (2023 Updated)

I bought this bike to try to get in better shape. The reason I wanted an electric bike was because I wanted to push myself and then use the electric only to ride back if I pushed myself too far. Plus I needed a way to get back home to accommodate multiple musculoskeletal issues that I was afraid would leave me stranded and struggling to return on a manual bike.

I haven’t rid a bike in years so I was hesitant to spend this amount on a bike I hadn’t test driven and I lacked confidence in my physical ability as I have multiple disabilities. First off this bike has changed my life.

I started off riding a couple miles and being tired. After a few weeks I was up to 5 miles multiple times a week. I’m so excited to have a means of exercise that gets my heart rate up, doesn’t exacerbate my disabilities, and is enjoyable.

I have had my bike for 2 months now and last month I rode 70 miles and met the weekly recommend moderate activity for multiple weeks in a row. I have done 7, 8, 9 mile rides so far. I originally thought I wouldn’t get my heart beat up much with an electric bike but to the contrary.

My fitbit shows my rides and where my heart increases to fat burning and cardio. Now I have plans by the end of March to ride 6 miles to work and 6 miles back 2-3 times a week. I couldn’t have even imagined this goal as a possibility 2 months ago and now this is realistic.

This bike is comfortable and is a joy to ride. The seat is cushy and comfortable. The hand grips are comfortable. I have issues with my hands and was worried about pain but this hasn’t been a problem and I’m quite comfortable with the grips and angle of the handlebars.

This bike is sturdy and comfortable. The battery lasts a long time. I could probably ride 4 or 5 days 5-6 miles a day until I need to recharge. I usually recharge every 2-3 rides but that is because I’m the type of person who fills my gas tank up when it is 3/4th full.

I see the battery go down two bars and I’m on it with a recharge. The cons: I had a squeaking sound and couldn’t figure out what was causing it, but I didn’t look. I assigned figuring it out to my boyfriend and he said he was going to try some WD40.

I’m not sure if he used it or did something but the squeaking sound went away. My breaks squeal a little. I haven’t walked through the steps they provided to do a break tune-up so it is probably user error.

I think I’m going to assign this to my boyfriend too. The battery came loose a couple times cutting the power. I just noticed it was tougher to pedal and stopped the bike to push it back in. The final con was I really wanted the cream bike but after waiting for three months global supply issues meant I would likely have to wait another three months.

So they gave me an option to wait or switch to a bike in stock which is how I ended up with the Navy bike. It is very nice looking and I’m pleased even though it wasn’t my first pick. I highly recommend this bike.

It was easy to assemble. I think it took me an hour because I carefully read and reread instructions to make sure I did it correctly. I love this bike. It is super comfy and gave me an outlet to be physical activity.

I was really struggling with the prospect of never being able to do anything physical until I got this bike. So I’m serious when I say this bike changed my life by giving me back my life. Now I have cute little accessories on it.

Love it and look forward to many rides to come.

The Nishiki Manitoba is a well outfitted bike for its price point. The bike’s geometry allows for a relaxed, flatbar ride. Gear shifting is smooth and the caliper brakes are responsive. A key advantage of caliper brakes is the relative ease of changing a flat tire, compared to disc brakes.

This bike is also surprisingly lightweight, 10lbs+ less than some of the competition in this cost range. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I did A LOT of researching and was really looking for an affordable (college student here) yet versatile bike. I bought this bike a few weeks ago and fell in love with it! Firstly, the look is very “luxury/professional” with the royal blue paired with the black with matte finish.

Really makes it look like a high end bike. The gears shift beautifully and without a hitch – actually one of the most quiet shifts I have ever heard! I anticipated the seat to be really uncomfortable (as all men’s seats are) so I pre-ordered a gel cover off amazon and am pleased (if you’re a woman, you’ll almost never find a male seat that dosed hurt you).

It doesn’t come with a kick stand (just fyi) so I got that too for about $15. Handlebar grips sometimes slide after long rides so I may replace them later but it is definitely not a massive issue at all.

The break s are REALLY GOOD, I may update this in a few months to let you know how long they last. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the lack of any kind of suspention so it really makes you feel every big bump if you go trailing – if you plan on commuting mostly and gravel paths in parks – this is for you! Overall, the price was AMAZING for what I got – one of the best purchases I have every made!! I looked around for WEEKS and I can tell you – THIS is the best value to get.

I bought this bike a day ago took it for a ride today and it was amazing. The bike is light smooth and comfortable. Nishiki has made a good quality bike at a resonance price. I did a lot of research on hybrid bikes and this one was the one.

I did have to take it back for some minor adjustments. The staff was great. I drove up they took the bike in 10 mins returned to me adjusted and ready to go. I will continue shopping at dicks. Excellent customer service.

This bike has all the bells and whistles, literally!!. The bike arrived very quickly after I placed my order. Took advantage of the assembly credit and had it assembled at a local Trex bike shop. They were also very impressed with the bike.

The bike is gorgeous and comes with a great basket that has a retractable cover so things you carry can’t fall out(they thought of everything), and lights a bell and a horn. The back bumper also has a bike rack system for additional packing capacity.

I was waiting to review after I rode the bike but we have had snow so I have not been able to ride it yet. Did not want to delay my review. I will write again after I go for a spin. I am beyond thrilled with this purchase.

I hope they make a new updated, more powerful, 48V version. If you plan on upgrading your bike from scratch, this step through frame is a GREAT starter. It’s thick, heavy, and has decent reinforced dropouts.

The bike was originally designed to carry a lead acid battery pack and can handle riders up to 300lb. As an owner of (2) Nakto step through bikes (and one of their 20inch hub motors), I heavily recommend you invest your money into a bike from LunaCycles, RadPower, or JuicedCycles.

Nakto uses a motor with high drag and poor freewheel performance. (It’s like riding with your brake’s partly depressed) It was a noticeable difference when I swapped 250w motor’s from another American company; it allowed me to pedal the bike with the motor off much more easily than the ones they provide, changing the experience of the bike.

250 watts, 36VV on a geared hub is not enough power for hills, nor enough speed for cross country travel. It is enough to make your ride a more positive, if only a leisurely, experience, but coupled with the short gears (44?/14t) you’re hard limited to 18mph due to the drag on the motor.

You’ll get your workout that’s for sure. You can put 48v on this, but you’ll still have to fight against the motor drag, which in my experience, has lead to a rather short motor life. In short, get a known E-bike that is 500w rated or better.

You’ll have more functional settings, more powerful assist, excellent product support, and never have to worry about upgrading a thing. Do what you love and stay healthy. -Dean.

Great looking bike. Easy to assemble. Instruction manual in the box did not apply to the bike in question, however once we came to this realization, the rest was easy enough to figure out. Seat height is very easy to adjust (nice feature).

Stand included. Hand breaks are a little difficult to reach for our seven year old, however it may just take some practice. Bike pre-set was in 6th gear, so make sure to change before having your child ride for the first time (otherwise difficult to start pedaling).

Bike does not have predrilled holes to accommodate a water bottle holder (a bit disappointed in this, but perhaps this is standard for a 20″). Overall very happy.

Good bike for the price. The frame is solid and the shocks are good quality. Sturdy wide tires allow for great handling and balance when on the trail or just riding in the neighborhood. The front disk break is a great addition to this bike and one that I wish more manufactures went to at this price point.

Stable and quick stops. the Gears are quite and responsive allowing the rider to switch quickly to the terrain they are on. The only draw back to this bike is the seat. Small and hard and recommended that you upgrade the seat as soon as you can.

All in all a great starter bike and one that hopefully will last a while.

My wife and I ordered new bikes in the middle of summer 2020. As might be expected due to the bike shortage in the midst of the pandemic, we had trouble finding bikes anywhere locally, or alternatively available for direct shipment to us.

We learned that most bike manufacturers do not ship direct To consumers but rather to local dealers for assembly/delivery to the end customer. As such, we initially looked into six three zero bikes because they seemed to have bikes in stock (or at least scheduled to be in stock within a few weeks), and we could get the bikes delivered directly to us.

We got our bikes in August/September. They arrived well packaged and without any in shipment damage (no scratches, dents, dings etc. ). There was some minimal assembly we had to do at home (and we knew this ahead of time, as the self-assembly aspect is plainly stated on six three zero’s website).

The assembly directions were very easy to follow, and all necessary tools were included in the packaging. Essentially, the frame itself and rear wheel assembly come already assembled; and we just needed to (1) install the front wheel/skewer assembly; (2) connect the brake lines (which were already installed integrally on the frame portion) to the front wheel assembly; (3) screw on the fenders and rear rack; (4) and install/adjust the seat post and seat.

The whole process took about 30-45 minutes. Since then, we have been riding our bikes several times a week (both on bike paths and on uneven/potholed streets around town), and they are fantastic! The bikes physically look great.

Mine is all matte black with a light blue strip On the frame just forward of the seat. The matte black has scratched in a few places (due to normal wear and tear and as I expected it would), but a sharpie does a fair job of covering the small scratches.

The Shimano gear shifter has been smooth, with no sticking (although I frankly don’t move out of 4th for the most part). The brakes are right and have not needed any adjustment. The rear rack is also a great standard included feature, and it is compatible with many readily available accessories, including rear baby seats, which I use regularly.

The bike also fits well on a standard trailer-hitch mounted multi-bike car rack. All in all, my wife and I could not be happier with our six three zero bikes, and the ordering experience was absolutely seamless, which given the current pandemic situation was exactly what we needed.

Also, the follow up by the six three zero customer service team, in terms of registering our bikes and purchasing the available warranty, was top notch. I would highly recommend six three zero bikes for anyone looking to get a new, fairly priced, general use bike for recreational/around-town riding.

I have the Women’s Evryjourney in yellow and I really enjoy it! I get compliments on it whenever I am out riding. This is my first “cruiser” type bicycle and I can say that I am 100% converted! I will never go back to a mountain bike; sitting upright with the slightly forward pedaling motion and having my arms relaxed is a game changer.

No more sore wrists and shoulders from leaning over the handlebars. Overall, I am pleased with the bike. I have a few reasons for taking a few stars away on the review: 1. The brakes are squeaky and they feel almost cheap.

In reading other’s reviews it sounds like this is an inherent issue due to the smooth texture of the rims. Smooth brake pad rubbing on smooth rims = squeaky brakes. I also don’t 100% trust the brakes if I were going at a moderate to high speed.

They just don’t seem to engage very strongly and I don’t fully trust them to stop me quickly if I needed to. Riding around the neighborhood with my kids is fine (this is mostly what I use my bike for), but I wouldn’t feel comfortable going much faster due to the brakes feeling “flimsy”.

2. My front fender arrived bent and the paint had cracked where the bend was in the metal. I submitted a warranty claim with an explanation and pictures of the bent fender, and I was sent a tiny bottle of yellow paint.

Painting the cracked paint doesn’t fix the bend. Disappointed that sixthreezero didn’t fully fix the issue. 3. Getting the bike took FOREVER. I pre-ordered it and expected it to arrive on the date that was listed when I pre-ordered, but it didn’t arrive until several months after I was originally told that I would get it.

I get that COVID created a high demand for bikes, but seriously. Don’t promise your customers that it will arrive on a certain date when they order it if you can’t deliver on that timeframe.

My experience with Sixthreezero has been nothing but wonderful. That is why I chose to purchase my second bike from your company. The quality of the bicycle alone is superior to many bicycles that you see on the market.

I really like the price point too. I would definitely rate my experience a 9-10. My husband and I have never had to actually assemble a bicycle before, so we were a little hesitant when we realized we decided to go this route.

Because of the pandemic it was impossible to find a bicycle anywhere. We ordered anyway, and decided to give it our best shot. My husband found the manual very user friendly and was able to put my daughters bike together in a relatively short amount of time with minimal difficulty.

We do have a slight issue with one of the parts. The derailleur is bent slightly inward (upon receipt) and we will get this adjusted at our local bike shop when we are able to get it in to be fixed ASAP.

It’s great that the company offers pdf and video manual options to help out together the bikes. There’s all sorts of reading material on the site telling the differences between the bikes and their purposes.

I have very much appreciated the peddlers club. I was able to cash in points to use towards Christmas presents (lights for both of my daughters bikes and mine :)). I am a thrilled customer and continue to refer to my friends.

I just want to say that this bike is exceptional for riding uphill. I live on a hill and when I was using a regular old bike it was getting harder and harder to even try to bike upwards anymore. After getting the bike together with some assembly required with the right tools, it was smooth riding from there.

I love how the assist pedaling works. I no longer have to exert a lot of energy just to get anywhere by bike. If I go riding with my younger friends they are amazed on how much faster I can go now. I love riding this in my suburban area.

There is a lot of ease and comfort going on when I bike. It makes me want to get outside and get more exercise because it doesn’t stop you from getting more of that either. The tires are sturdy and I was able to get on the bike right away without any extra adjustments.

I can get more places without having to spend money on gas while driving a car. This bike has let me ride for many more miles per day than before, something which is more difficult for an older female.

I would recommend the bike for any age, though. Brakes work well. Now I have to get one for my significant other to keep up with me! The bike is so fun! This is the first time I have ever used an electric bike and I love it already.

I got this bike on a Monday and my husband assembled it right away. We placed the battery on charge just to make sure it was ready for a nice long ride on Tuesday. I wasn’t sure if I was going to know how to work the gears but they were very simple to figure out.

We started out on our ride and I’m used to pushing my bike up the hills. I was so excited when I started up the hill because it just climbed up the hill with no effort at all. We had such a good time.

I can,t wait to ride this bike again. The seat is nice and cushiony so my butt was comfortable for the whole ride. The frame of the bike is heavy metal and good quality. It’s amazing that I can get up to 20 MPH while riding.

I can get about 25 miles out of a single charge so I don’t have to worry that the battery will die half way through my ride. I’m sure it would go quite a bit longer on a single charge but I just picked that number of miles to make sure that it is properly charged before I go on a ride.

I would definitely recommend this bike if you want to have the time of your life while out on a bike ride. This totally makes a bike ride so much more fun that you will want to ride it every day.

It took a minute to figure out how to assemble but once I had someone else help me and had the right tools it was a breeze. This is an amazing bike that is so smooth and easy to ride. I wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve never had an electric bike but it does not disappoint especially when it comes to hills.

I use to dread pedaling uphill but now with this bike I don’t stress when I see the hills. The charge on this bike is also great. I plug it in after every other ride or so and I haven’t had any issues with it staying charged.

The gears on the bike are super easy to use and understand as well. This bike is definitely an investment but I know it’s one that will get lots of use and create fun memories with the family. If you are looking for a bike to take on joy rides this is the one.

A very solid bike for the price point. Is it trying to do anything fancy? No, but it is a great option for someone looking to get from A to B without breaking the bank. When I was researching this as a gift for my girlfriend, I noticed a few complaints about the weight and the build quality.

To those points, I would say the following: Weight: overall, the bike is not super light, so it can be a little unwieldy when trying to load it into a vehicle. That said, it is not too heavy, and rides fairly smoothly.

The bigger factor is how the weight is distributed across the bike (center of gravity, in essence). Most of the weight feels like it sits between the rider and the rear wheel, with the front feeling very light in comparison.

This is not an issue in any way, but it does create a bit of a learning curve for cornering, as well as for stopping on down-slopes. Just be aware that it will take some getting used to. Build quality: lined up with what I would expect for the price point.

The frame and primary components seem solid, and while some of the smaller nuts and bolts for things like the fenders are a little on the soft side, they didn’t present any issue for me on install. As a side note, I did the initial assembly of the bike upon receipt just to make sure nothing was missing or obviously damaged, but I took it to a shop for final alignment, tightening, and tuning setup.

There were no issues to be found, and it was pretty intuitive to assemble, to the point where I almost didn’t need the instructions. What I will say is that the brakes needed significant adjustment out of the box, which is part of the reason I entrusted the initial setup to professionals.

My GF and I have ridden the bike several times now on variable length trips (1 mile – 20 miles), and the bike performed reasonably well for all use cases. The seat did get a touch uncomfortable toward the end of the 20 mile trip, but not to the point of being unbearable (I should also mention that this is coming from the stance of someone who is not used to sitting on bike seats for any length of time).

It rides and shifts well through the midrange gears, but gets a bit noisy in the lowest gear, and the highest gear is feels like it really only wants to be used when going down a pretty steep hill to try to build speed.

The weight in the tail is also very noticeable when climbing steep grades, encouraging the rider to lean forward more than usual, but not to an uncomfortable degree. Overall, this is a very usable and well priced bike.

It isn’t perfect, but it exceeded my expectations. I have not had it long enough to comment on long term reliability/ serviceability. P. S. I would strongly consider upgrading the brakes if planning to use this bike in hilly environments or as a daily rider, just for a bit of extra stopping power and response.

The rear brakes in particular can feel a bit soft, especially when traveling with loads such as groceries.

I love bikes. I have eight – yes eight – bicycles. From my antique Raleigh to the Retrospec Beaumont I bought from you last year, I love riding each bike for various reasons. I have biked the Natchez Trace, the Carolina Low Country and most recently, rode from Miami to Key West on a bike.

I live and breathe bicycles. However, my bike trip trough Florida almost killed my enthusiasm. I witnessed a horrible bike accident and had a close call of my own. When I returned home from the trip, I put my bikes away and rode only occasionally on trails where motor vehicles were not allowed.

Then the gas prices started rising and I realized it was silly to fire up my SUV to travel the 3 miles to work each day. I used to be an avid bicycle commuter and knew I could get to work on a less expensive mode of transportation using “girl power.

” But I’m out of shape, the commute home is completely uphill (long, steep climb) and then there’s the whole trauma-inspired fear I face when I ride alongside motorists. I knew Retrospec was a good company and that the Beaumont bike I already had was easy to use, comfortable and GORGEOUS.

so I purchased a Beaumont e-bike, thinking the extra push might help me at least conquer the hills. It was love at first ride. Not only am I commuting to work again, I have somehow overcome my fear of biking in traffic (the sturdy frame and the quick responsiveness of the motor have made me feel safer for some reason).

I know before long I’ll be back in shape and will be riding regular bikes again, but I think I’ve found my main mode of transportation with the Retrospec e-bike. This bike is so much fun to ride that I am looking for excuses to make quick trips to the grocery store, just so I can hop on my e-bike and zoom into town.

I’ve had the bike 3 months now. Tool a while to even ride since it was shipped without the necessary tools and accessories. Took over a week to get proper response from customer service and even more time waiting for the replacements.

Kick stand is not meant for this bike. Its way too short and not sturdy enough. I have to find the right angle of the front wheel on a perfectly even and smooth surface to get it to stay up. A slight breeze easily pushed it over.

And the paint job just doesn’t hold up. This bike is easily scratched and without a firm kickstand this bike had seen way too many scratches. So three months in now starting to rust from the paint easily scratched.

That’s the bike on its own, now attached the dog carrier that was purchase from this same brand purposely to fit and the bike has no chance to stand on its own. Always need to rest it on something and need two people to load the pets since it feels wobbly for them.

Tried adding after market baskets to front or back and nothing seems to fit right. Couldn’t add standard bottle holder, either. In summary, while it’s pretty, design and functional elements need further work.

I ordered this bike online because it was exactly what I was looking for in a bike. It was one of the biggest disappointments of my life. It arrived with a very warped front tire. I called customer service and I couldn’t just get a single tire, they had to send me another bike.

It took another 2 weeks to get that bike and that tire arrived even more warped than the first one. I immediately called again and the process it took to return the two bikes was the worst. I am still waiting for my refund almost 4 weeks later.

Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money.

Purchased Jan 2020. I’d like to note the price- older inventory and it predates the tariffs from China where most the bikes come from making this a great value. Good bike in itself. Had it shipped direct to home (free in 2 days) and finished assembly ourselves.

Was not hard and that way you know every inch of bike is good to go. Had no problems or real complaints. There was a slight wobble to front rim but easily fixed but checking on web and adjusting a few spokes with a small adjustable wrench.

Added aftermarket fenders and a front basket. Wife loves the ride, easy to peddle and perfect for our occasional recreational use. Very similar to husbands 2002 Next AvalonCS. Recommend a few updates, better brake shoes (stock ones tend to squeal and are a bit small) and add a water bottle holder (none on this version), lights if you need tho we run paved non motorized trials daytime only so not needed.

I’ve always liked the Kent bikes and their components. A few minor adjustments to the brakes and gears and you’re ready to ride. I bought a purple one and a black one, two of each and was pleasantly surprised with the comfort of the ride and the seats.

The front shocks actually help a lot for what they are. You simply cannot beat the price on this bike if you’re looking for an all around cruiser with gears. Of course, with supply coming back in stock too and backed by Walmart’s return policy should anything go wrong within the first 90 days, it’s a no brianer.

After getting back on my old Synapse 105 Alloy you can tell the difference ! Why was I sceptical , because the price gap between the alloy/carbon – 105/Ultegra is not small. Synapse is my go to model and I am not disappointed with the Carbon Utlegra, same ride as the alloy105 but a little softer.

The only moan would be the stock tyres but then who doesn’t switch those out first thing when getting a new pony. Fulcrums compare well to my old Aksium’s. Caution though the hydraulics discs brakes stop on a sixpence and I confess to seeing my back wheel at 90 degrees when being a little over enthusiastic on my first ride.

Well rounded bike , not a single thing to moan about and for me the first bike where I haven’t considered upgrading anything except the saddle from day one. Sigma , never been anywhere with such professionalism and interest in someone else needs a cyclist and not wanting to sell you their own vision/preference.

Very happy all round and Sigma even threw in a different skewer in case I wanted to switch wheels 🙂 Finally , the colour Saber Orange seems to be unique (for the moment) and definitely standouts from the usual blacks and reds !.

Very happy with this bike so far. Taken it round Regents Park and up and down Box Hill and good control and traction. I was also very happy with the advice given by Milo at the Hampton Wick store to select the right bike for me, using the jig set up to test different combinations.

When the bike arrived there was also a really useful session to fine tune the set up and this didn’t cost a pound more. Much better than when I previously bought a bike online from another retailer and the set up and size wasn’t right for me long term.

During the Bike Apocalypse, I was glad to have found this bike in stock to order. It did take like a month and a half to receive. First of all, this bike is WHITE not PINK. Fortunately my wife preferred the white color.

There is a loud clanking sound from the crankset. Going to have to spend some time making adjustments. As with EVERY bike I’ve received from Walmart that was shipped, screws or bolts were missing or laying in the bottom of the box which always has a big hole punched into it.

On this one the threads for the chain guard screw was stripped out. Luckily I found a nut to attach to the back end. Overall a good value for a basic single speed cruiser for my wife.

The bike is beautiful and eye catching. It rides nice while it does. I read walmart reviews and most of the problems were the same. The whole apparatus that house the pedals and chain was loose and the chain kept coming off bike shop charged me $125.

the bike costs $150. only 3-4mos out and the pedal was beyond loose the whole are with pedal came off. at this point repair would be another bike.

We bought it today. Immediately after witnessing the bike tip over twice, I concluded that the kick-stand was not suitable to properly support this bike. After 20 min. into a 45 min. ride my daughter alerted me to a “scrubbing” sound.

After a 10 min. troubleshoot, I realized the chain guard was the culprit. So there on the trail, with less than 5 miles peddled, I removed the kick-stand and chain guard. Outside of those 2 disappointing set backs, my daughter likes the style and colors of the cruiser.

I, myself, will pray that we didn’t attach ourselves to an inferior product cloaked by a worthwhile charity, which played a major part in our choosing this particular cruiser. only time will tell.

Fat bikes can be really expensive and these are a great way to get into the sport at a lower cost. The site says they compare to $2000 bikes and that’s a serious overstatement. My family bought 4 of these 2 years ago so we have some experience.

Frame: These frames have taken a beating and they keep going with no corrosion or defect. They are great frames. Also, they are built with a super fun geometry and we use them year round on snow and dirt singletrack.

Drivetrain: Ok this is where its hard to claim this is a $2000 bike. Current technology for bottom brackets has come a long way and these still use old style square taper bb’s. If you ride these for a few years hard, you will want to upgrade to a proper bottom bracket and crankset.

The square taper eventually wears and gets loose. Further, the shifting bits of the bike are pretty good. Wheels/Tires: These have been rock solid with no need to true so far. Tires are still going strong and should last another 2 years.

No complaints here. Bottom line here these are good value at $750. Ignore their claim that they compare at $2000.

I debated and debated; did research a due diligence; rented a fattie from a local shop. All I can say is WISH I’D BOUGHT THIS SOONER!!! The MOST fun to be had on two wheels. I’ve only had it a few weeks but LOVE the fat bike experience.

I worried about “only” 10 speeds but this baby handles everything like a champ. I’ved used all the gears but a lot of riding is without shifting. But when I need to shifting is sharp, easy and quiet.

BTW -no front derailure means fewer things to go wrong miles from nowhere-which has saved me at least once already. After comparing other bikes ( most of which cost 2-10 times more) my Minnesota 1. 2 is the best purchase I’ve made in decades.

I’ve recaptured the fun I felt as a kid. I log 100 miles a week on my hybrid-until snow comes. While I won’t do that on my Framed, I’ll log more smiles. I find myself thinking “wonder where this goes” as I venture down games trails, through woods, fields, over hills and across streams.

This bike was worth the price and extra for direct shipping! I’ve been riding hybrid road bikes for commuting more than 25 years. My previous bikes were used, well-worn-in and never fit my body shape.

The lighter weight frame, improved disc-brakes and high quality tires are a bonus. I ordered this without trying the bike out in-store. It was a gamble, but I’m glad I did. I took measurements and had been looking for a new bike nearly 2 years.

I wanted something quick, easy to ride and maneuverable in a city. This bike is just that! Very responsive, good brakes and extra reflective features on the frame. I feel confident riding this in an extremely dangerous city environment.

The only reason it doesn’t get an extra 5th star is that it’s not a pure road bike. I give this 4. 8 stars for value for price but I am a true long-distance road cyclist and the gears feel limiting to me.

I can’t achieve the kind of consistent cruising speeds I prefer with a hybrid bike, but it’s not designed for that, so I acknowledge the limitation. I’m satisfied with the out-of-the-box purchase. REI made the order and delivery smooth.

The freight driver was local and even suggested some great urban trails. I’m looking forward to riding this in-between my road-running intervals.

I was expecting another slow hybrid bike, but this thing has exceptional wheels and can really go when asked, almost as fast as a good fast road bike, but with more comfort. I own a 2020 version and was glad to see the hand grips got the needed improvement, I changed mine out, first thing.

The tires have also been changed, I can’t comment about that, I found mine satisfactory and durable, having almost worn my rear tire smooth at this time. I use the bike often, mainly to replace my car for casual around town needs, so changed the stem to a more upright riding position, which surprisingly still felt good with the supplied saddle.

I changed the saddle needlessly to one I was more familiar with, and kept the OEM seat as a spare, because I might spend hours on the bike and didn’t want surprises. I added a rear rack which allowed me to severely overload the rear wheel, hitting holes and bumps in the street while carrying lots of heavy groceries plus my 220 pound self home, and the wheel remains true.

I inadvertently learned not to lay the bike down repeatedly on the derailluer side , which , in time, allowed it to catch and wrap into the wheel, destroying the plastic spoke protector along with the chain, but the wheel is still very true, with the spokes still straight and tensioned.

Thank goodness this bike has a replaceable derailleur hanger, so with that new part and a new chain, I was back riding, good as new. My main attraction to this bike was that it was the nicest hardtail I could find with room for a center mounted kick stand to be added, I didn’t want the screwy rear position type.

Now I think I might love the high quality brakes more, they are a complete joy and really add to a quality experience at an important touch point. The shift controls are a little small for my hands, requiring some repositioning of my hand to use, but not a deal breaker.

I can say the same thing for the thumb bell I added. I also added a rubber tip on the kickstand, to better accommodate various floors when parked, along with fenders and a good U lock, which I carry secured on my rear rack when not in use.

I learned the hard way about U locks , and suggest it is the superior design choice. I even have a second thug weight kryptonite lock to use if I go downtown. I also switched to theft resistant axles, no quick releases on this city bike, same with my lighting.

I once stopped for lunch at the pier and every bike had their lights stolen except mine. Frame is really nice, impressive tech and finished to a high standard. I am glad they went away from the very boring, invisible at night, black paint used on my bike.

The reflective gold trim under the clear coat on mine doesn’t seem to do much.

I bought 2 weeks ago and done 100 miles on this and have become used to it and got to know the bike. Firstly really good service from the chap at Sigma that served me. And for the bike, it’s great. Positive; It rides just like a normal bike, it gives you that kick you need to ease the lumps and makes a 30 mile ride feel like a breeze.

It has 3 settings I’ve mainly had the first one green which gives the kick you need and had at least 25% left after 45 miles, flat riding lumpy fen roads. It has two extra levels orange and red for more boost.

I can’t comment to much as with no hills it’s hard to judge the extra output. You can also turn the electric off totally on smooth flats and bike as a regular bike. The negatives: The light button is a little fiddly especially on bumpy road to make your selection for what level you’re on.

The ride is quite hard on flat bumpy roads as it’s a ridged frame. To conclude a great bike a nice ride but as most are roads are so alwful be prepared to get used to the vibration.

Upgraded to this from a Liv Avail 5 2015 road bike as I’ve started to carry more weight on my commutes, and a heavy backpack/road bike combo is not the one. So glad I went for it, really comfy upright ride position, feels stable and confident when on busier roads and can handle the potholes and gravel on the lanes.

Also v nice not to have to wear lycra cycling shorts for comfort – normal clothes are an option again! Disc brakes are very responsive, gear shifting is smooth and the levers super easy to change. I’ve just ordered a pannier rack.

It was a toss up between this and the Rove, but I’m glad I went for the Alight, in the end I decided easily bring able to fit commuter accessories was more important than occasionally using the front suspension the Rove would offer.

Yes the bigger tyres compromise some of the speed you achieve with little effort on a road bike, but if that’s not your priority then you won’t miss it. Really fun to ride, if you’re considering it go for it!.

We got this bike for our 11 year old daughter. She loves it! It is light and easy to ride and the gears are smooth. It is comfortable and she loves it!

Bought the Alight to replace my old commuter. It’s really comfy and fun to ride; I’m happy with it. It is pretty heavy. Never rode a women’s bike before and it’s so much more comfortable!

This is my first full suspension bike. I purchased it from the Liv dealer in my hometown Missoula, MT during the pandemic so did not get to test ride it. As I read the other reviews I see many people comment on loving the aesthetics (look) of the bike.

I agree, it’s beautiful. I love it’s drive on the climb and technical turns made easier for sure but I am working so hard at it on this hefty girl bike. Prior to this I was on the 2019 Giant Fathom which I just loved! Here’s my challenge with the 2021 Liv Intrigue, it’s so heavy.

It weighs 35. 5 lbs! I am 5 foot 7 and about 160 lbs. Riding this bike compared to my hardtail is just not as joyful because it’s a beast due to it’s weight. I will be upgrading to a new full suspension after this season and will not buy again without a test run first.

My friend paid a lil’ extra for the Pique in 2019 and it is so much lighter and easier to navigate. I’ve started calling my bike Big Bertha! Note that I love the climb and this bike is just not a good fit for me.

It’s descent is great but it is also not as fast as other bikes on the downhill. Just grateful to have gotten any bike at all during the pandemic but I will be trading up after this season and lesson learned.

I wish Liv would include the bike weight in specs because that is important to me. Wish I had not sold my 2019 Giant Fathom hardtail. Thinking of investing in a carbon frame full suspension.

I’ve been an avid road biker and mountain biker for about 25 years. Have only had carbon bikes. Decided to get an electric bike for super hilly mountainous areas. However, it is so much more comfortable than my road bike without having to lean over so much, it takes the pressure off my neck and shoulders.

I decided to get a mountain a bike so that I could ride it on any terrain which includes dirt, single track, sand, gravel roads and paved roads. Will definitely quit using my carbon road bike and use this instead.

I have taken this little lady on at least a dozen rides on my local trails and am just absolutely smitten with its performance. I took a newer Trek model out to demo it prior to this purchase and I was not a fan of the Trek.

The frame was a small but I felt very compact/squished and the gears didn’t shift low enough for my endurance with climbing (the Trek model was more for downhill riding). The frame I bought with the Intrigue is a small and fits like a glove for me (5’4″ female).

The drop seat post is not at its highest when I adjust the seat for climbing, so it seems that there is even a little more wiggle room for a slightly taller person. The suspension is buttery, the drivetrain shifts low enough to climb with ease on steep slopes (common where I ride), and high enough that it moves fast into a descent.

The frame is relatively lightweight. Gosh, the color is gorgeous. It reminds me of the iridescent sheen of a beetle. It is truly an excellent all-mountain bike. Friendly for the uphill climbs and is so fun and flowy to hit downhill single track–it absorbs impact from little jumps with ease.

And for the price, it might be hard to beat.

Great hardtail for anyone wanting to get into mountain biking without breaking the bank completely. Works well as a entry level trail bike and doubles as a good option for commuting. -1 star due to chain rattle issue (but this can be fixed with the purchase of a cheap chain guide online) and due to minor issues adjusting front derailleur.

If those 2 relatively minor issues were amended this would be a 10/10 starter bike. Nonetheless, great quality starter bike. 9/10 overall.

I love reading new MTB reviews but it seems like the reviews are lacking in one area. There are hundreds of reviews of $6,000+ bikes with thousand dollar drivetrains. However, there is a lack of reviews of entry-level bikes and bikes that most people can actually afford.

For me the stand out points are: a solid, lightweight aluminum frame, a SRAM NX/GX drivetrain, a Rock Shox Reba fork (100mm travel), and the WTB Nine Line tires.

If you tried to build this bike yourself and bought all the parts separately you wouldn’t be able to come close to the under $1,500 price tag. It even comes with some really cool extras that most bikes don’t include, like a mud flap, pedals, and a basic torque wrench and tools (pictured below).

Even though the rims and tires are tubeless compatible, the bike arrives with tubes. Tubeless stems are included and this would be an easy upgrade. The lack of a dropper post is the most evident missing ingredient, but it is understandable that Diamondback does not include one in this price point.

If you plan to do any longer rides on this bike you would want to upgrade the saddle as well. The tread on the WTB NineLine tires are geared for cross-country riding. If you were to use this as a trail bike you would want to have a deeper, more aggressive tread pattern.

This bike is not designed to take down rocky, technical terrain. It is very much geared towards cross-country riding. I bought it to keep up with the high school riders on my local NICA team. As long as you stay on the trails that this machine is designed for it is an awesome bike, especially for the money.

Being a hardtail 29er this bike climbs very well and is very efficient. It handles smooth trails and light rocky terrain with ease. It climbs easily and carries momentum well. For a hardtail with more traditional geometry it descends remarkably well.
