20 Best Wireless Mics For Djs (2023 Updated)

I’ve found the Sure SM58S to be a versatile mic for vocals as well a picking up amp output. I mostly use mine for vocals and I’ve found it to do everything I need for recording and live performance. I like the S model because the S stands for switch.

When I’m not singing in a song, I can just shut that thing off and not have to worry about broadcasting all of my set up/on stage comments. It’s also handy if there’s feedback in the room (due to huge windows or hard surfaces behind me,) when I swing my boom away.

I’ve dropped em before and found them to be durable. The XLR input location has been durable, too.

I checked no to the question “Is it lightweight?” because it is a very well built mic and made for the rigors of the road tour and gig after gig. I have used Shure SM-58’s for years and have never had one fail.

In fact, every Shure mic I have are still working as good as the day i bought them, and I have at least 20. I have been in many bands for over more than 25 years and these are my mics of choice, as well as being the mics of choice for many famous musicians and their tours and sound crews.

The SM-58 is a standard of the music industry for a great sounding, practically bulletproof, vocal mic. You will not be disappointed.

First looks, it looks genuine, but doing some research and inspecting the mic, i believe i got a fake one or maybe just a slight production design. Alot of the things on this mic seem to check mark to the real mice but on further inspection, in the xlr connector at the bottom, on the real mic its not beveled and it looks like 2 pieces on the fake one, the xlr has an inner circle, but the fonts look clean and i have the recycle symbol like the real one.

on the top, the grill is mat like the real thing, and i have the right green and yellow wires on the inside, but fakes have gotten so good, its hard to tell. Other things are that the Shure SM58 lettering on the mic is not straight and not as clean of a print as the real one, and i dont have the extra hole at the bottom like ive seen on pretty much all fakes.

So my advice is not to buy these mics from ebay, even if all the details and images look legit. And ive ordered a genuine mic from amazon, and once it comes in, ill compare the two,and hopefully return this one if its really a fake.

These are great, there is no latency. I walked around various rooms in my house trying to lose the signal but couldn’t. They continued working through all the walls. The sound is a bit crisper than with a cable, but I liked the extra brightness.

The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the connections. The transmitter doesn’t snap fully into my mic. I have several, and it won’t go fully in. The connection very tight though, so it won’t fall out.

Also, the charging connections are very tight and I have to almost force the plugs in. Again, I have tried them on other equipment with the same result. Having said that, the charge lasts forever, and they charge fairly quickly, so on the whole, I would recommend them.

I like this mic a lot! A few things I would love to see improved – The power cord / jack. I would prefer a power cord that screws into the unit (like the GLX series for example. ) The cord seems like it could just pop out at any time and that makes me nervous.

I do like that they eliminated the antennae because they would just get flimsy after a while anyway. Nice sound quality and reliability which are very very important. Easy to use and to sync the transmitters.

They don’t currently offer a carrying case for this model, which is very unfortunate. I had to take a razor to my obsolete Shure system carrying case to customize it to the longer receiver and dual mics.

Back in the day you could purchase the system with a carrying case, and since I am mobile that is quite important to me. Quick shipping and reliable system overall though.

I had a large event coming up and needed an additional mic to run for one of the visiting performers. My local Guitar center did not have a large selection of wireless mics and the price seemed to be a good deal.

When opening the box you are greeted by the SHURE name practically everywhere. the excitement builds as you tear open the packaging. (some of us are that way lol) Then I get to the goods. the mic is lightweight.

like scary lightweight. I can tell from the getgo that this setup is all plastic minus the windscreen/ No way would this survive any normal drops. The receiver is equally light and felt like it wouldnt be stable.

I also didn’t see anywhere to attach a rackmount either unless you rigged it with double sided tape. Honestly after looking it over and not seeing an antenna my expectations dropped quickly about this package.

I get past that initial fear and hook up the mic to check out the sound. I have experiences with both SM58’s and PGA58’s and there isn’t a world of difference in real world applications. You would expect the wireless mics to resemble that right? I honestly felt like this mic has a wet blanket over the top of it.

Several eq changes later I got it semi under control but still felt dry and boomy. I plugged up a PG58 and had to do far less Equing. I ended up not even using the mic for the show because I was worried about the singer standing out in a mix or being down a mic after it got dropped.

I ended up returning the mic and ordered the BLX24R/SM58. You get alot more for your money with that setup including a rackmountable all metal receiver WITH removable antennas, and a SM58 version of the mic that feels heftier and not as cheap and lightweight.

It feels like you are getting a higher level unit overall. being rackmountable is a big plus! In my opinion you should def skip the BLX24/SMpg58 and reach deeper into the wallet for another 100. You will honestly feel alot better about your purchase!~.

Falling in the footsteps of the incredible sound, reliability, and durability of shure microphones, This wireless mic is the best bang for the buck! Having used SM58s for years, With them taking so much use and abuse from live performances, transporting, different clubs and venues and concert halls, one comes to expect reliability, and consistency with short microphones.

They didn’t miss a beat with this wireless package! There are some that come in at a higher price, but this was exactly what I needed with the addition of the beta internals and element. The sounds as good as it looks and looks as great as it is reliable! If you’re looking for a great wireless microphone that comes in at an equally great price, this is your kit!.

These mini transmitter-receiver devices are terrific for getting good quality audio straight out of the box. Attaching an even mediocre lapel mic makes the audio clearer and free of interference. A couple of notes: when attaching the receiver to an iPhone, there was a delay of a few frames when recording at 30 fps.

You will need to re-sync audio after recording. The dead-cat cover for the built in microphone does snap on (with some effort), but opening the clip on the transmitter to attach the microphone to a piece of clothing will immediately dislodge it.

These are minor complaints compared to the ease of use and versatility of these devices.

These are great for the beginning photojournalist. You won’t find an easier setup- just turn it on, plug it into your iPhone, clip the mic to your subject and hit record on the FilMicPro iPhone app. (You will need to purchase a separate adapter cord to connect the receiver with your iPhone.

) The only drawback I’ve found is that it’s omnidirectional, so it will pick up background noise if you’re in a noisy space. I prefer my Tascam mic for noisy places. If you’re in a quiet place, this mic is perfect – and it makes editing a cinch!.

The Rode Wireless GO is awesome. It is so easy to use. Turn it on, plug it into your recieving device and start recording, it really is that simple. It is small and compact and the sound is excellent.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind. One, is to make sure the mic device is at least 8 inches or more from your mouth for the best sound and next get a small case to carry all the tiny accessories and the two Rode Devices.

It is worth every penny you will spend on it, in fact, I am going to purchase another set.

I’m gonna start with the bad points as we all know these do a great job at recording clear sound and work flawlessly on their own. The trouble comes with connecting them to a device, for some reason its hit and miss with my recordings whether or not they will show up on the video of the camera theyre plugged into.

You have no way of knowing if theyre recording to a device, a little camera icon would have been helpful or something just to let you know its recording to a device and not the onboard memory. This leaves you with the mild stress of not knowing if youre gonna have to spend ages trying to sync up the sounds, or if it did its job and recorded the sounds to the device.

One such device that is very problematic is the insta360 one r. The sound quality on the one r is good mostly but it always gets bump sounds and knock sounds even though the camera isnt moving. (I think thats the wind reduction option?) So naturally you want to use a better mic for your 360 camera shots but you never know if its recording to the one r or not.

The other problem is the very low sound level at which everything is recorded. Gotta have my speakers and pc sound up at 100% to just hear what the recording is doing. Gotta edit each sound file in an editor to bring the levels up.

Dunno whythey have the lower db levels to choose from, if anything it needs a boost function. One small complaint is I wish you could remove the shirt clip things so you could attach some velcro or 3m tape to the back for mounting.

But thats my personal problem and wont effect many people who just use it for vlogging or any situation where its just gonna be attached to your clothes or bags. Other than those two things, theyre very light, easy to connect to your clothing, you can do action sports with them and have no sound issues, my action cameras get knocking, clicking and wind sounds, none of that with these mics.

You can run around with one strapped to your shirt and not even get any sounds of it flopping around with your shirt or knocking against your chest. The sound quality really is the clearest I have had on a mic (I havent owned many so that probably means nothing coming from me haha) I wear one on my wrist and the other on my shirt collar, just under my chin.

Works perfectly and I dont notice any difference in the way it picks up my voice from wrist level to being just under my chin – both are just as clear and the voice under the chin isnt even any louder than the voice on the wrist.

Which means you can mount it to a wrist band if you dont want the mic to show in yourvideo for whatever reason, it doesnt need to be in close proximity to your mouth. The range at which the mic picks up voices at an acceptable loudness before they start to sound like a background person is about 1m then you will notice the voice get farer away sounding.

This was impossible to find info about online so I hope this is useful to someone. The largest distance I have seen it pick up a voice is around 6m, but that sounds very far away, like someone talking to you from a distance and you cant quite make out what theyre saying.

Lasts all day pretty much, I can go out to a game day and know that I dont have to stop recordings or charge the devices cos they last the entirety of the event filled portion of the day for me.

This small, robust and versatile microphone is worth its weight in gold. It might seem as an expensive system at first compared to other wireless alternatives but the built-in advantages in the Rode Wireless GO II will quickly pay for itself.

Some of the features include: Split-audio, backup recording, markers, MP3/WAV export, local/remove mute and powers saving mode. The microphones can also be used as stand-alone units, or connected directly to lav-microphones.

Thanks to the option of recording a backup track (with a -20dB track) simultaneously with your normal (can be adjusted from -30dB to 0dB) recording, the risk of you missing out on important sound is next to none.

During a recent shoot we did, were interviewing two subjects, we had the microphones set to -6dB and the talking heads interview sounded great! However, after the interviews finished, the subjects performed a musical number with guitars and song, using amplifiers and loudspeakers; and by mistake I forgot to set a lower dB recording level on the microphones, so the entire recording sounded distorted and awful – had it not been for the automatic -20dB backup track directly from the microphones themselves we would’ve had no sound at all; but thankfully the microphones backup system worked as intended and we were able to restore the backup sound recording in post, and publish the shoot with amazing sound! The only drawback with these microphones is that they NEED Rode’s own USB-C cables to properly sync up with the Rode App – the cables are fortunately included, but worth knowing.

A charging case for the 3 devices (2TX + 1RX) would have been nice, but they charge quite quickly when connected to a power source.

I bought these because I already have a pair of Beringer MPA40BT-PRO battery powered PA speakers and this product effectively adds another channel to the on board mixer. Just plug in the receiver to the USB input, set the level on the microphone body and you are ready to go.

Sound quality is good and a fair volume can be achieved before excessive levels cause howl round. I was hoping that the receiver could be used in any available USB socket but there seems to be excessive delay in the signal line.

I have not yet fully evaluated this aspect of their performance. All in all a very good product; recommended!.

This is a quality product for a fraction of the price of its competitors. It has its own transeiver in the form of a USB dongle, which makes for easy storage, carriage and setup. I use several Behringer amplifiers, but I’m not sure this USB dongle would work with any other manufacturer’s amplifier that has a USB wireless connector and also, each dongle is matched to its own microphone, but I haven’t tried using two of these Behringer microphones using just one wireless dongle.

I have now purchased 2 of this supreme product. Works like magic. Battery life is amazing and it is so light-weight you really don’t know you are holding it. Once again, thank you for the prompt service DJ City.

Here are my experiences with the product after 2 years of daily usage, roughly 6-10 hours a day. —- While the adhesive on this does seem weak when you first put it on and will slip and slide a bit for about 3 days or so, after that period I find that it sticks on much, much more strongly and it becomes no longer an issue.

Just be careful with it for the first while. It eventually does form quite a strong bond, at least on the metallic mesh backing of these HD600s. I want to say that the bond on the attachment point lasted about a year and a half before it fell off and a new one had to be applied (a couple extras are included with the mic).

Other than that, more recently it has started to have issues with being slow to pair. Usually my solution is to change which USB port the receiver is in, then it will hopefully pair, then move it back quickly and it should stay paired.

The charging cable for the microphone is a little loose, but this isn’t a huge problem if you remember to charge it while you aren’t needing to use it – and may more be a result of my careless treatment of the cable.

Other thing is, it’s not really clear if it can be turned off or not, only muted, so I usually just plug it in instead so it doesn’t lose charge. Many of these problems are not a big deal for me personally, but may be irritating if you do commonly have the need to turn the microphone off, forget to charge it or perhaps if you turn your computer on/off a lot.

On the more positive side of things, though noting this is the only wireless attachable microphone I’ve tried: -The battery life on it is pretty good, and off the top of my head I want to say it will last about 12 hours straight – AND if you do take breaks, you can charge it during that time to extend it a little.

-Since it’s a USB device, there isn’t any EMI, which was always a cause of complaints with my previous microphones. -I suspect it will survive a lot longer than many wired microphones, since there’s no cable that can break.

That may explain the high price. -Friends say that it sounds fine. -It seems like the volume on it is fine without needing to do anything special. That can sometimes be a problem with USB devices as they often don’t have a gain/boost setting in windows recording device properties.

Great product and very reliable. My cloud hyper x2 has served me really well so far, but I was moving to university and needed a wireless headset. Tried bose 700 and quiet comfort too but wireless headphones’ inbuilt mic when activated messes both with the input and output sound quality for some reason.

This beaitiful antlion product gave me the opportunity to enjoy the sound quality while having a great mic too. It does sound a bit low sometimes but you can install peace/apo and jack up the decibels a little bit without sacrificing too much quality.

5/5 in my books. Hopefully its durable and lasts me at least 2 years.

As a microphone it works amazing in providing good quality audio input. Installation is a breeze. But 1) I cannot pair it with a bluetooth phone, but im willing to overlook this for the quality audio.

It still may be a turn off for some. 2) The 1 button it has to turn on, unpair, mute, and turn off is a bit of a pain. I keep wanting to turn off the mic only to end up unpairing and I have to re-pair the mic to the receiver.

It may take some getting used to. Overall though im satisfied with the product. I love the quality and the features of the microphone. Adding more than one button can improve the product.

Exploring it was a bit tricky for a sound novice, but with Google’s help I was ultimately able to figure out what kind of mic I wanted, and be sure I would get the connector I needed.

Putting it to work was very easy. Obviously, I’m rather proud of myself. I only wish the wire and transmitter were easier for me to wear.

I will need to get used to the way the wire falls down the side of my face from the headband, but that may be that I am wearing it incorrectly. I only had one opportunity to use it so far. I imagine it needs to be tucked behind my ear, and, there is the way one holds a flute while playing that adds to the slight awkwardness.

Ideally, having one with its own transmitter would be best but much more pricey I‘m sure. I great value for me as I don’t play much flute as a saxophonist to warrant that much of an investment.

Purchased to work with a JBL Partybox 310 but I had to contact JBL as I was surprised to find the receiver did not fit very well on the back of the Partybox. I had the following reply from JBL Harman “Sadly, when using the wireless microphone this will cover some portion of the input/output board, however can be adjusted to the use case scenario when needed wether you need access to the 12v DC input, or you need access to the Daisy Chain output.

Whilst the instrument/Microphone 2 controls will be covered regardless, we recommend you remove the dongle momentarily to set these, and then reconnect. ” Overall the receiver is not perfect in design but JBL have assured me they have taken my feedback onboard so I am sure this is something they will look into rectifying in the future.

They’ve been able to give me work arounds, and even though this isn’t ideal, it not much trouble to go through as what matters for me is the quality of the microphones and they do not disappoint. Great quality and value for money, highly recommended over any cheap alternatives!.

Stummschalten geht bei den Mikros nicht. Wenn es aus Metall und nicht Plastik wäre, wäre das Gefühl hochwertiger. Aber: super einfach zu bedienen. Klangqualität ist nicht schlecht. Sehen schön aus und fühlen sich generell gut an.

Ob’s die 100€ wert sind wage ich zu bezweifeln. Da gibt’s bessere.

IšverstiShow in original languageEigentlich machen die JBL-Mikrofone einen ganz guten Eindruck. Da alles vorkonfiguriert ist, muss nur noch der Tansceiver gesteckt, die Mikrofon-Batterien eingesteckt und die Mikrofone eingeschaltet werden.

Mit der JBL-Partybox kann dann schon Karaoke losrocken. Allerdings gibt das erste Mikro ohne Aueneinfluss schon nach ca 1 Stunde auf. Auch nach Batteriewechsel geht nix. Das Schaft-Display bleibt dunkel, kein Ton.

JBL hat den Verkauf offensichtlich zwischenzeitlich eingestellt. Ich nehme an, dass es da ein Problem mit der Produktionsqualitt gibt.

I will say right of the start that these mics are an incredible game changer in how I create videos! I can create more outdoor videos with freedom of movement (up to 500-600 ft), conduct interviews, and just up the quality of sound by using my Deity v-lav when I create still videos.

Overall, having great audio is so important to me and I can’t say enough about the advantages of having the DJI Wireless Microphones. Ease of use, you can see the transmitter screen while shooting video for audio levels, you can use the magnet to set it on your clothing for your audio, the case is one piece charging/connecting device between the transmitter and the mics themselves.

I am overly impressed as this is one of the best purchases I have made yet for YouTube video creation! I will not give a full detailed review, but there are many excellent “how to use the DJI Wireless” YouTube creators out there who have done this for you already.

Take a look and you’ll see! I chose them over the Rode Wireless Go II because of their ease of use, simplicity in design, smaller size, and far less complications when it comes to setting them up, among other things.

These are a winner!! It’s worth paying a few extra dollars for them! Just keep watching for a restock at Best Buy and purchase them right away if you see them. When I got mine, they wound up selling out three days later.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI’ve been using the RODE GO II Wireless for several months but am blown away by the DJI package – magnets, snap to charge, included Lightning/USB-C adaptors for smartphones, there’s just so much clever design at work here.

Yes the kit is pricier than the RODE package and countless other knockoffs of that, but DJI gives you a lot. The charging experience is worth it alone – while battery life is worse than the RODE units it’s almost never a concern since the case charges all three units just like AirPods.

The tiny touchscreen interface works surpisingly well and is a much-needed improvement over the RODE’s punishing one-button system. No apps needed either, so big plus there. Oh, and the mic units themselves sound great! Haven’t even plugged in a discrete lapel but of course that is an option for more flexibility and fidelity should you need it.

The $79 Rode SmartLavs work well for that purpose and play nicely with this or any device with the 3. 5mm jack. Audio is now just one less thing to worry about with this kit from DJI. Great first-gen effort.

Sound: The best r&r Mike for ANY money Features: It’s meat and potatoes. Get an off/on switch if you feel the need to sophisticate Ease of Use: Plug it in crank it up. Problem solved. Quality: Ask Roger Daltry.

Value: Worth twice the amount (don’t tell them though, I’m still poor). Manufacturer Support: Never needed them. So IDK The Wow Factor: It’s not the Brad Pitt of microphones. More like Tommy Lee Jones or Robert Duval.

Overall: It’s 1969, Woodstock music and all the acid has drained a LOT of energy (and brain cells) from the half million metropolis they call The Audience. It’s late, stage hands scurrying around setting up the next “act”.

Lights go down like the eyelids if the 3 day city. Then LIGHTS, BASS, GUITAR, and DRUMS RIP OPEN THE AIR. PEOPLE TRY TO PUT US. D D D. D DOWN and My Generation kicks out from the Who’s, Roger Daltry.

Like Zeus weilding lightning bolts, he deftly precisely throws his microphone towards The Audience snatching it back to himself, only to twirl it amazingly two then three times to hurl it once again back at them.

There has never been a harder working Mike in the business. And 50 years later it still has no equal. Aside from the Les Paul, or Strat, it remains one of the best things to ever solidify Rock and Roll as an art form or a religion.

Shure 58′ are a classic microphone to use most anywhere. For me we do live shows and podcast (DanceCast @ RadioKing) with this mic. To get this deal is a real bargain! I own 4 of these right now and we use them for everything.

You need to know the range and sweet spots (see enclosed chart) for the best vocals but once you understand mic placement these are real workhorses. For my money there these are the “real thing” in microphones, every thing else is a dice roll at best.

Want mics that are durable, reliable, and proven to be the standard (real thing supported by sound guys everywhere) buy these and this package is a great combo! Enjoy your new microphones!.

This is my favorite mic model that I used for 10 years running in a traveling rock band with many drops and no failures. The gold standard of live vocal amplification! The on-off switch is a nice option, and this can be locked in the on position by reversing a metal tab and tightening a screw.

Although not mentioned in the ad, this mic comes with a factory clip and vinyl zipper carrying bag. The stand is very sturdy and steady. much more than I expected. The 20 foot cord works great with nice cable flexibility.

If you desire a better quality cord, you can always use this for a backup. This is an unbeatable deal.

I am an audio engineer for live shows. I love the price point and versatility of this system. It’s advertised as an instrument system, but I use my WL185 lavaliers with these. the transmitters have Rechargeable contacts on them if using Rechargeable batteries and a separately sold recharging unit.

I recommend active paddle antennas as the included antennas are for close proximity line of site. one single network cable accesses both units for wireless workbench. for the price, and excellent choice.

slowly swapping our older mics with these, and so far they work brilliantly. The channel scan feature is very nice for finding clear frequencies without spending the time to manually scroll through our mics.

i’m looking forward to getting the rechargable lithium batteries to help cut back on our E-waste.

Units arrived in well protected shipping boxes. Setup was a breeze and worked without any problems. Downloaded the latest firmware quickly and easily. The additional free software that supports the SLXD was a definite plus.

The good: one microphone worked well and sounded good. Had a good strong signal several feet away from the receiver. The bad: the other microphone didn’t function properly and something was defective in either the mic or the receiver.

You could hold the mic almost touching the receiver antenna and it still didn’t sound clear. Since I only needed one mic I didn’t return it or exchange it. Figured it wasn’t worth the inconvenience. That is why I gave it 3 stars.

If both mics had functioned properly, I would have given it 5 stars.

I was pleasantly surprised to plug this into a karaoke speaker that was available in the room I was using and have it work out of the box. Great Value! just make sure you get batteries in them ahead of time, also have an extra set of batteries.

I am sure that the static in the sound was user error, and I need to spend time practicing right position and distance from base. I gave a four because I did not see any directions (or I threw it out with the box?).

it would be helpful to know how to use it.

The product is nice, especially for the price. I haven’t used them professionally yet, but as I was testing them around the house, I found they would cut out in weird places, or if you were holding them wrong.

It isn’t really that big of a deal because I am going to be using them outside where there will always be a clear path between the mic and the receiver, but I would still like to know that the product could go through obstacles.

Other than that, I like them. I wish I knew what frequency they were at, but they are good, with semi-good-quality sound, and very little feedback issues.

I bought this mic specifically to handle Q&A sessions in a corporate A/V setting. It does such a great job rejecting feedback when a user stands more than a foot away from the mic. You can really hear the rich fullness of the human voice even at a great distance away.

This mic paired up with proper compression on the input channel gives the mix engineer much to work with. B&H order process and shipping are the best too.

This wireless microphone transmitter combines the excellent audio characteristics of the Shure Beta 87A supercardioid condenser microphone capsule with the flexible but easy to use SLX wireless transmission system.

Frequency link-up with a receiver is easy using the Shure wireless infrared “sync” system. Shure also offers users many helpful resources concerning the setup of transmission frequencies for all their wireless systems.

Battery life of this twin AA powered transmitter is very good and the microphone body is light weight. The transmitter body is of plastic construction and is certainly not indestructible. The user must be careful to not over tighten the battery compartment cover in order to avoid causing cracks to develop in the threaded portion of the body cap.

And although I don’t want to give the impression that SLX series mic bodies are extremely fragile, performers should handle this mic with reasonable care. I have found the usable range of RF transmission in the SLX series microphones to extend over a fairly wide area even when the companion SLX4 diversity receiver is equipped with basic 1/4 wave antennae.

For handling difficult RF conditions there are several more sophisticated antenna systems available in the Shure line to further extend the transmission range of these microphones. The dynamic range of the audio signal is also quite good.

certainly good enough for serious concert performances. A testament to solid design and engineering, the SLX series wireless microphone systems have been in the Shure wireless lineup for quite a while.

The SLX series remains a current Shure product line and I feel it represents a good value.

We had an old ULXP from 2007. it still works and everything work fine, but the way this digital captures the audio is so much better. on the old one i had to give it lots of eq. this new one i only have to eq a little bit.

i had to apply lots of gain and high gate on the old one but with this one my gain is not as much and my gate has been lowered significantly. the mic does great at adjusting its own gain. i have not had issue with feedback yet.

i love that it uses AA batteries. so even if you dont buy the rechargable battery pack, you wont spend a fortune on batteries. the old ULXP uses 9v batteries and those are pricey. THe mic feels great in your hand, the metal housing really gives it a different feel.

I use the mic on 10mw setting and i havent had issues with transmission. RX is 70 feet away and no issues. i Believe its worth the extra 250 to go from QLXD to ULXD models. if your debating if Q or U, spend the extra 250 and get the U, you wont regret it.

Sound: Sounds as close to a wired mic as you can come, really. Features: These have a network option and work flawlessly when ran with wireless workbench, but you can connect 1 to your computer directly and scan for a good frequency, and it will allow you to have the computer set the frequency for you, to always have a clear connection.

Ease of Use: This is better than the other older units that were not digital. Quality: All metal HH and Bp bodies, so they are very nice to have, as opposed to the plastic variety. Value: It’s $1000 for a HH wireless.

It’s not cheap, but pro products rarely are. But, in that area, it’s worth it. Ulxd is the next step up, and they’re more $$$ for not a lot more features, unless you need full Dante support. Manufacturer Support: Shure has the nicest Customer care reps and they know their products.

If you need some advice, do not hesitate to ask them for direction. They can put you in the right product, because they have their products all over the world, and know what works. The Wow Factor: Wireless mics don’t wow, unless they don’t work.

These are good solid units. Overall: I have 20 of these on tour right now and I’ve been everywhere from Las Vegas to Cleveland Ohio, and they haven’t failed or Sounders bad at all.

I play guitar, bass, keyboards and sing in a group at church. You can imagine the amount of cables a small group can generate. Everyone in the group buys their own gear. I was using an SM-58 for my vocals, but decided to cut the chord on my vocal mic and go wireless.

Out of all the brands I liked the feature sets on the Shure products the best. Several of their wireless systems offer the capability of swapping mic capsules – this one included. After some research, I decided on the QLX-D.

Shure does make some more expensive units, but the sound quality does not improve past the QLX-D line. I wanted studio quality audio and this system has the ability to deliver it. We use floor monitors and I was concerned about feedback with a condenser mic capsule.

We usually have the floor monitors cranked up fairly loud. I am happy to say the Beta 87A mic capsule I opted for does not cause feedback – this is extremely important. I have received countless comments on the quality of my vocals with this system.

Another good feature is that the receiver output does not “pop” when turning the mic on and off. I also don’t hear any handling noise, when powering the mic on or off, or swapping the mic from one hand to another.

The LCD display is small, but easy to read. It shows frequency and battery life remaining. Setup is quick and easy. The receiver has an on/off button and a good LCD display that I can read from above.

The receiver also shows the frequency, mic battery life, gain and signal level. The gain setting can be adjusted on the receiver to avoid clipping. Another cool feature is the Shure Wireless Workbench software.

The receiver has an RJ-45 jack and can connect to a switch or router. I have it installed on my laptop and can plug it into my mixer rack at church and check/update the firmware and perform a lot of other functions with the QLX-D receiver, such as frequency coordination.

Most individuals may not need this function. This system is money well-spent.

Our church bought a large batch of these to replace our ULX systems that were in an outdated frequency band. We liked our ULX and had them for years, but these are a definite step up. The mic body is made of metal and feels very solid.

The power switch is sturdy too, and gives a tactile click so you can be sure you turned it on without having to look. The range seems very good. We use these at a distance of 60-70 feet, and the signal is very strong using just the antennas that come with the unit.

One thing these do way better than the ULX is battery life. These use AAs (compared to 9V for the ULX), and we get around 10 hours of battery life out of them (compared to about 3 with the ULX). We use NiMH rechargeables, and they work just fine.

These QLXDs will be our go-to in the future for sure.

Overall: After the first time I used this headset, I almost returned it. Why? Because it was so freaking sharp, it was picking up my breath when I placed at the suggested position. And there was no mute switch.

I got busy though and didn’t fill out the return order. Then, the weekend came, no one was home and I had the place to myself the whole evening to try this thing out. Then I found a hack for the mute: the power button itself on the transmitter that cuts instantly and powers back in virtually a second.

So, the most I finish a song, I cut off the unit. Then, just as the accompanying music comes back on, I power it back on. I was blown away. I’ve become a 100% better singer overnight. The mike is so freaking good it picks up even the smallest strains of your and projects it so beautifully.

I paired with this with a QSC K12 power speaker that I also got from ZZ. My entire investment is about $1,100 (the speaker is about $800 and this unit $300). It’s the best $1,100 that I ever invested for personal joy.

Get it, but get it with a bloody good speaker like the QSC. And be blown away, like me.

I bought this to upgrade from an X-Vive system. That was a fun entry level wireless system, but too vulnerable to interference to be used in a performance situation. Unfortunately, I knew this Shure system was going back to GC when I was taking it out of the package and noticed the sending unit weighs about as much as a Nickle.

It it one of the flimsiest, under-designed products I have ever seen. Drop this thing once on anything but 70’s deep pile carpet, and its done. The receiving unit is three times the size it needs to be and also housed in thin plastic.

A toddler would crush it. I set it up and tested it, and it worked flawlessly. Like so many manufacturers of refrigerators and dishwashers, they figured out the hard part brilliantly and paid no attention to durability, or how the thing would actually get used in the real world.

This is some of the worst product design I’ve ever seen, and I won’t be a part of it. A throwaway-quality product that will either have duct tape holding it together or be in a landfill within a year.

I really like my Shure Wireless Mic system. The head set fits my head well and it stays put. I don’t have to fiddle with it like I did with another system’s headset. Best advice is try on different headsets before you purchase.

They all fit differently. I also like that this system is lightweight. I transport it to class every day so having a cumbersome or heavy system would not work for me. Very happy with this purchase.

I’m in a band of guys that I’m teaching as we go. so I needed a way to give instruction as we are playing but not FOH. so, I use this as a “ghost mic”. Thru the IEM’s. I’ve used both headset and lapel and both work great! I can give instruction real time as we are playing and FOH has no idea!! One set of included batteries, and two days of playing later, both still going strong!! This is perfect!! Great value in general, and for my specific needs!! Now I just have to learn that I don’t need to shout anymore!!!.

To encourage writing, I gave away my previous unit and ordered this one (same). GOOD: QFX gives freedom when used with a computer speech to text program. BUYER MUST KNOW: QFX has a large mono audio plug.

Unit needs a 1/4″ mono to 3. 5 mm stereo adapter also an extension 3. 5 mm audio cable. These are necessity if QFX is used with a computer.

I had an opportunity to use the product this weekend as a MC and was very pleased with the sound quality and range I had in carrying out my role in the ceremony. the hook up to the dj equipment was quick, fast, and easy.

We’ve been using the BLX models for a while, and they had lots of signal breakup issues and the plastic bodies were falling apart. These are built like a tank, go much farther with no issues, and the ability to charge them has been a game changer.

After using SLX series wireless mics for almost 2 decades, I am pleased with Shure’s successor to the analog SLX line, the digital SLXD series – adding rechargeable batteries / charging dock and more channels per frequency range, and a more instinctive Power On/Off switch to handheld and bodypack mics.

Should accident or wear create a repair need, I know that I can keep these systems running for years.

I sing in a band and the microphone makes all the difference to how well and clear you sound. Shure microphones are the best in the business and it shows. It out performs many other microphones that I’ve previously used.
