20 Best Winter Coats For Kids/Girls (2023 Updated)
There are a few different types of winter coats for kids/girls. The most common type is a heavy coat made of wool or another type of thick fabric. These coats are usually knee-length or longer, and have a hood to keep the head and ears warm.
Another type of winter coat is a down coat. These coats are usually lighter in weight than wool coats, and are filled with down or another type of insulation. Down coats usually have a hood as well, and can be either knee-length or hip-length.
Whether your daughter likes to trek through the backcountry or play outside in the neighborhood, give her a high tech jacket that will keep her warm and looking good this winter. The Columbia Katelyn Crest Jacket for Girls is a water resistant puffy coat that is stuffed with 240g of synthetic insulation to keep her toasty warm and comfortable.
The outer shell repels snow and rain, and a slightly gathered waist and removable faux fur around the hood give this jacket a feminine profile. Both functional and stylish, she’ll love her new winter coat.

Body and sleeve lining made of 100% polyester taffeta. Solid interior liner made of 100% polyester fleece; brushed for softness and specially treated to prevent pilling CLOSURE — Full zip closure under hook-and-loop storm flap.
Solid interior liner zips out to become its own jacket. Full zip closure with easy-pull tab, zipper guard and chin guard DESIGN — Outer jacket features adjustable elasticized no-snow cuffs with hook-and-loop closure, side seam pockets with zip closure, elasticized hood and allover print.
This is our 3rd of those jackets. Been getting one since my daughter was 2. I got her a bigger size and it last her two years. She’s almost 8 y. o. now and M fit her big but comfortable. We live in Chicago, this Jacket keep her warm at school, waiting for the bus and is truly waterproof.
She play with the snow at 20F and is crispy warm with the snow pants too. Totally recommend this coat.
This is the second 3-1 we have purchased for my daughter. She loves the prints and we use it all different ways. Great for when it is in the 30’s getting on the bus, but in the 60’s on the way home. Our last one also held up great in the snow with the matching snow pants.
We haven’t snow tested this one, but I don’t have any doubts it will be fine.
Whether your daughter is just learning to ride a bike or is about to get her learner’s permit, the Marmot Girls’ Montreaux Down Coat lets her tromp through snowy playgrounds or stroll through Central Park without having to stop for cold knees or fear of the fashion police.
Water-resistant down gives her dialed-in warmth whether she’s skipping by your side or flinging snowballs at your head, and the knee-length cut adds warmth and style. The shell is made of ripstop polyester to keep the super-warm 700-fill down in place, and the torso’s even been lined with plush microfleece for an extra dose of warmth and comfort.
Marmot stuffed the hood full of the same insulation, and gave it a removable faux-fur ruff for increased style and comfort; as if the microfleece internal cuffs and lined handwarmer pockets weren’t already enough.
I have been reading reviews and considering this coat for a year now and decided to give it a try. I have not worn it outdoors in weather below 32 for an extended period of time but it SEEMS like it will be warm enough for me who is always cold with another layer if needed.
Regarding the fit: so happy I ordered large as there is now room for another layer and still is not big or sloppy looking. I don’t know how the models pictured fit into a small but they are only posing and not actually wearing it in real time.
Sleeve and coat length is perfect for my height. Hood also seems good, not to big although I have not needed that yet either. Now for the most important part that many have complained about-the ZIPPER! It is exactly as reported it is not as good as it should be for the money being spent on this coat.
It may get a little easier after many uses but not sure about that. It shouldn’t be that hard to zip but it is most of the time. I’m hoping it will last and not break. Shame on Marmot for not correcting this problem by now.
Hard to believe a better zipper is not available for these coats which is one of the reasons I waited a whole year to buy one. For that reason I gave it only four stars or maybe three.
I was looking for a long warm coat and liked both the Montreaux and the Prospect. They were on sale so I ordered them both in XL. I like the Montreaux for its very pretty Berry Wine color; and 4 pockets (2 handwarmer, 1 interior zip, 1 interior drop).
I liked the ruff on the hood but could not see a way to adjust it so it would not fall so far forward over my face. The minuses were that it was only water-resistant and that the torso was very snug; also the zippers were very fine, like what you’d find on a skirt, and not as heavy as I’d expect for a jacket of its type.
I could see where there could be a problem with them, but I had no problems. In contrast, the Prospect was waterproof, the hood was easily adjustable and the zippers were heavy like you would expect on an outdoor jacket, the torso was not tight at all, and was about 4 inches longer.
Negatives were it had only 3 pockets (no inside drop), and no ruff. The Prospect was warmer (800 fill compared to 700 for Montreaux) and overall fit better, plus I liked its longer length. They didn’t have the Berry Wine color in XXL othewise I would’ve tried it out because I really like that color.
Have been wearing this coat for a month now. This is an amazing coat. Legit the warmest one I’ve ever had. I work outside and being in the cold for 8 hours in the winter sucks, but this coat does it’s job and keeps me warm.
I was outside while it rained too and I was thoroughly impressed with how well it repelled the rain/ the rain didn’t sink into the jacket. Dried very quickly whenever I went inside. I love that it’s long enough to cover my butt too.
I also love that it has multiple pockets. Others have complained about the coat letting go of its feathers and I was a little worried with how bad some people made it sound. but I’ve seen maybe 2 feathers come out this entire month? Personally I’ve always had feather blankets and pillows and a few feathers escaping is nothing out of the ordinary.
Two feathers coming out in a month is completely normal when buying something with feathers and not excessive at all. Love this coat, highly recommend.
Lively prints combine with a waterproof shell and toasty insulation to warm up the coldest winter days. This cozy winter coat features a soft lined hood a high collar and angled cuffs designed to protect the hands better.
This is a very warm coat, the color is beautiful and it is plenty big enough when I ordered my daughters usual size. My only problem with it is the zipper is not the greatest. And for a kindergartner, being able to zip her own coat is necessary! The zipper is very difficult to keep together and very often she zips it crooked and the one side zips off the track.
Even with lots of practice and helping my daughter with “zipper technique” she only manages to get it zipped HALF the time. I even have trouble getting it to zip correctly when I help her! Ridiculous!! I expected more from a Columbia coat that is upwards of $100.
Highly disappointed with the quality of the zipper and that basically makes this useless to my child at school.
I was excited to find this jacket for my daughter, until it arrived. Working in outdoor apparel many years ago, I used to ensure all my customers knew untapped seams meant water would simply go through everywhere there was a hole from stitching.
Shame on myself for not reading the description better. There is also a big jump in size as my daughter’s small Columbia winter jacket barely fit her even last year while she swims in this medium. I’d recommend trying on before purchasing even if you have another Columbia jacket as a referent.
Not recommended for wet climates. Much better suited for cold and dry.
It is a really nice jacket. It is perfect for playing in the snow with snow pants. I found it confusing to purchase a size but I found another review helpful for this. I have a 10 year old. She is thin.
A small would be too small or would have only worked for one season. The medium is a little bit longer on the arms but the wrists adjust with a velcro so the medium size was perfect and should work next year as well I think.
Learn more about Carhartt. Built to brave cold days on the playground, the Carhartt Sierra Sherpa-Lined Jacket for Girls keeps her warm with a plush sherpa lining. Durable cotton-canvas construction with rib-knit cuffs help to seal out the chill and wind.
Hand pockets keep digits toasty and a zip chest pocket holds small essentials. The Carhartt Sierra Sherpa-Lined Jacket for Girls adds triple-stitched main seams for the same durability as adult Carhartt work clothes.
A Carhartt patch below the chest pocket adds iconic style and the interior ID label helps this Carhartt kids jacket find its way home. Machine wash. Imported. Type: Jackets.
Start them young wearing carhartt! Bought a jacket for my youngest granddaughter (4) who wants everything daddy, mommy, and her big sister have. Carhartt it is my littlest Angel. She’s going to look so stinkin cute rockin her 1st carhartt jacket!.
The quality is absolutely excellent! You can’t do better than getting a Winter Carhartt Jacket! I love this color Plum! And I am a very small adult woman who wears Girls XL and this jacket fits perfect!!! So warm and comfortable.
I always order from Tractor Supply & highly recommend. Was packaged great and arrived very quickly!!!Thank You!.
Regular fit: This garment is true to size for an easy, comfortable fit. On cold winter days, wrap your young explorer up in the Reversible North Down Hooded Jacket before she sets foot outside. Filled with a blend of lofty down and lightweight Heatseeker ; Eco that retains warmth, even when wet, this jacket will keep her warm from the street to the summit.
It’s loaded with features, too, like the cosy hood, horizontal quilting, and handy zipped pockets. Even better – it’s fully reversible for two different looks, while recycled materials make it a better choice for the paths she treads.
Perfect jacket for my 6 year old. She really liked the reversed side due to the pink hue. She was excited for pockets and it was lightweight enough for our recent trip to Tahoe. She was able to fit in the XS and overall size fits just right where isn’t too oversize and isn’t too small either.
She will definitely be able to wear this next year as well and most likely will be a hand-me-down to her younger cousins.
I liked the style and the fit of the jacket, however, this jacket is not designed for cold Minnesota winters. The fill was not enough to provide enough warmth when temps go below 20 degrees, and this jacket is not designed for playing in the snow, sledding, skiing to keep kids warm and dry.
This jacket would be fine for states with winters warmer than Minnesota’s sub zero days.
Whether they’re walking the dog or waiting for the bus, our little wayfarer stays cozy in the Canvas Insulated Active Jacket. The burly build lives up to that rugged Carhartt standard, while the soft tricot lining keeps them warm yet lets their skin breathe.
When crisp winds blow in, they pull the hood over their head and settle their hands inside the insulated pockets.
So, I had a duck coat for 15 years. Perfect coat, unfortunately when I went to the store they didn’t know how to properly direct me to what I was looking for. So, TRADES PEOPLE you should be looking for the NFPA compliant coat.
I realized this too late. This coat, while warm and comfortable doesn’t feel like the type of quality product I’d come to expect from cathartt…. I was very concerned (and am certain it will be the first thing to go) the zipper would break until I figured out kinda how to grab the coat and zipper.
Sure it’s stylish, but whenever you get it caught on something you have to take care not to rip it which is not like the old heavy duty canvas coats. I guess I’d expect more from a 180 dollar jacket from a company known for trades people.
Probably perfect for hipster office workers, college campus and all the leftist fetishizing blue collar work cultures. I fear this coat won’t give me the years my old one did, which makes me bummed out.
This jacket did fit well, but be warned, try to try on their stuff before you buy it. Cathartt products are made in various countries and the fit is different depending on the country, most of it (especially the shirts) runs way to large and will leave you feel like a young kid putting on dads clothes.
In love with this jacket within the first time i purchased the jacket. I pre-order my first Shirt Jacket from Carhartt using Tractor Supply as there distributor of material. I went ahead and use the true size fit, and placed a size large to order.
Come to find out the jacket was over-sized from my tailor. I’m 5’7 190lbs medium built. So i decided to down size to a medium and wait another 2 weeks for my jacket to arrive. Excited to receive it today and discover that the jacket has an imperfection on the right collar fold where it might of been pressed too long and caused a burn mark on the fabric.
Strange how this would pass there QA for inspection and receive an A-OK. I considerably would hate to return the jacket due to its imperfection and not be able to receive another one due to the high demand of material during the holiday spike.
Overall, the jacket is lightweight and mobile for you to move around. Its not the heaviest jacket i have in my closet but if you are a t-shirt type of guy and dont want to throw on a hoodie all the time.
Take on the cold in style with Swiss Tech’s Ski Jacket. Designed with an active day in mind, this uber-warm jacket features an attached hood with plush lining, and it has a wind resistant and water-resistant shell.
Two zipper pockets let her stash her stuff safely. A total score for the season.
Far more versatile than most winter jackets, the girls’ Columbia Bugaboo II jacket is a 3-in-1 system that’s warm, waterproof and protective. Wear them all together or separately in moderate weather.
I have two older interchange coats from Columbia, both are size large and both fit great. I typically wear a medium or large top, depending on style – I wear a 36D bra so sometimes room up top is an issue.
Not with my older Columbia coats, though. This season I am wearing an impact vest for snowboarding; while I can zip my large coats over the vest I wanted a little more room so I ordered an XL Whirlibird IV in the white fluorescent print.
Problem #1: This coat fits SMALLER than my large coats! I can zip the coat up and it is ok in the waist, but the bust area has absolutely no contour to accommodate a bust any larger than a B. I tried it with the impact vest for S* & giggles, and definitely couldn’t zip the coat over that thing.
Interestingly enough, I had ordered another coat from Columbia earlier this season (Ember Spring Long Down Jacket in XL to fit over bulky wool sweaters) and THAT coat fits great over my thick Irish sweaters (and impact vest)! So now I have to ask, why does Columbia think that sporty women are flat and shapeless? DO BETTER FOR YOUR FEMALE CUSTOMERS, and don’t just say “try a Plus size instead” – I’m NOT a plus size, I just have a large bust.
Find designers that actually know what women need, not what some male’s perception of sporty women. Problem #2: the color on the website appears white with a light gray pattern; in reality the pattern is blue.
BLUE. Not terrible, but absolutely not what I was expecting and the white was specifically wanted because of the color of my board and my snow pants.
This is the first Columbia product that I don’t absolutely love. The front velcro closures snag everything when the jacket is open. EVERYTHING — clothes I’m wearing underneath, anything in my hands, even lighter weight gloves.
Don’t even think about wearing a scarf. I bent over to unbuckle snow shoes, stood up and the velcro had fastened itself together in mis-matched fashion making my jacket completely askew — I had to rip the jacket open, one piece had actually caught on my base layer, and, of course, the wool hat in my hand ended up sticking and I had to rip that off as well.
It was a total comedy routine. I’ve even tried filing the velcro down with an emery board to make it less tacky. I don’t wear this casually as it has snagged sweaters just putting it on. Other than that, this is a great jacket – great pockets, comfy, keeps you warm, runs a little small so if you want a thicker layer underneath, order a size up.
I do wish it had an insulated hood for when I’m not skiing. I’ve never had issues with velcro before – and I couldn’t find any other reviews complaining about the velcro snagging. Maybe I need to give it more time.
I bought the red Jacket. The white zipper and the grey around the neck are the only non-red items. So I wanted the white zipper. All other jackets are truly one color. The pockets are huge. Needed for skiing.
Because of the inner and outer jacket, you have two-three layers of pockets. i. e. , a lot. All pockets are big, even the breast pocket (outer layer only) The two layers of jackets make the outer layer by itself run a bit big.
But not too bad. I have skied half my days in the outer layer only. Breaks the wind and keeps out the moisture great. The attached hood is not my favorite. I would like it detachable. However, there is a velcro strap on the hood and by carefully folding the hood and using the velcro strip and the coats hook string, you can make it into an near invisible (normal) collar.
I bought it later in the season and for those reduced prices it is very good value for money. The cloth looks nice and nonplasticy (not like a rain jacket). But I had no problems with the outer shell being water proof despite having a couple of snow days and falling into the deep snow.
I’ve always bought my daughter rain coats from Carter’s in the past and they’ve kept her dry. Today she wore this coat for the first time at summer camp, and the rain soaked right through! It probably doesn’t help that there’s no flap over the zipper like previous rain coats we’ve purchased.
This might be okay for a light shower or a quick run to and from the car, but nothing more. I was also disappointed to see the care instructions. While the website says it’s machine washable, the care tag says “Wipe to clean.
Line dry in shade. ” Who makes a fabric rain coat for kids that shouldn’t be washed?! This isn’t a rain slicker; it will get dirty. I think it would probably survive the washer fine if you ignore the instructions and do it anyway but be warned.
My daughter chose this one from the options online. She has asked for a rain jacket with a soft lining because her most recent one didn’t have one. She really liked this pattern – but I told her I was skeptical it would actually change color like it says.
I was wrong. 🙂 It changes color when wet. It does fit a little bit big but it’s nothing terrible, She should be able to wear it for two years – that’s about how long I want a raincoat to last her given the money spent and how it doesn’t rain a ton.
My daughter loves this raincoat! She loves seeing the colors change. We cannot wait for it to rain now! She typically wears a 24 month right now and so we bought this in a 24 month. It is a touch bigger than she really needed, but it’s lightweight so this leaves us plenty of extra room to layer for colder weather if need be!.
She’ll stay comfy thanks to synthetic insulation, a thermal-reflective lining, and waterproof-breathable tech. A helmet-compatible hood, powder skirt, and more are ready for a day on the slopes, plus she’ll stand out in the fun geometric print.
Their Outgrown system lets you extend the cuffs next season.
My AON loves the Omni heat tech helping keep the jacket lightweight. This jacket vs other Columbia’s with this tech that we’ve had previously does seem to be warmer… improved tech perhaps. The only downfall on this active winter jacket is there is no ring to attach lift tickets to.
The pocket on the chest could’ve been an option but it’s a Velcro flap closure. No where around the bottom trim did they attach one so the zipper is the only place to attach which is less than ideal as it will flap in your face as your flying down the slopes.
A miss but an easy improvement – we’re attaching our own to the bottom.
The jacket is even nicer in person. The sleeves also have an inner soft shell sleeve that has a thumb hole if you would like to wear it that way. The inner sleeve is soft and on most running long sleeves.
It’s going to be great to put into gloves for an added snow protection. Fits true to size and although black and white, the jacket pops and is very stylish on the slopes.
Bought this for my son in hopes it would be a leaner fit since he’s tall and skinny!! Only difference between this and boys is hem line. This jacket is awesome!! It’s light weight yet warm. Perfect for my kid that gets hot easily!! Great quality and design.

Columbia offers this girls winter coat in multiple colors and sizes. Regular Fit. To ensure the size you choose is right, utilize our sizing chart and the following measurement instructions: For the sleeves, start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder and down to the sleeve.
If you come up with a partial number, round up to the next even number. For the chest, measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
The Seasons Kids Padded Jacket keeps your child warm and protected, when getting caught in light showers. Lightweight microfiber padding for better insulation and with a water-resistant outer – it’s great for winter outdoor fun.
Help your daughter get ready for the cold months ahead with this girls winter jacket from Lands End. SnowGuard wrist cuffs make sure slush and frosty air don’t find their way inside when she’s playing outdoors and the Grow-A-Long sleeves extend by up to 1.
5 inches so you’ll be prepared when she wakes up a little taller than she was the day before. Because the heavenly lining in this hoodie coat is incredibly light it never looks puffy or bulky. The anti-pill and anti-static interior are also gentle on her other clothes so her wool sweater won’t crackle and spark or chafe against rough fabric.
You can even adjust the bungee cord-lock in the waist to get a custom fit that traps body heat. Since it hits below the hips this coat also provides that extra bit of coverage essential for enduring freezing weather.
This is our third Squall coat for my daughter; the last two were the Jacket style and this time we went for the longer Parka. The first one we ordered for her ended up being way too big, so we set it aside for later and ordered a smaller coat.
Each of those lasted her two years and went on to her younger cousin; they’re still in good condition. She’s currently a size 8 in pretty much every other brand of clothing, and the size 8 parka we just ordered is definitely on the big side (a bit too big to wear comfortably but we’ll make it work).
All in all a very good coat. We really appreciate the waterproof factor (it’s not perfect, but it’s better than many other brands we’ve tried with our older kids). Just keep sizing in mind when ordering.
We had this coat previously in a smaller size and it was a great value – lasted my daughter two years! They changed the sizing this year and we weren’t sure what to do, so I just went with the 10/12 since that’s what she wears in just about every brand.
Enormous! We’ll be returning and going a size down to the 8, and it should still last her two winters. We got the multi tie-dye and the colors are really lovely – mostly pastel pink and aqua. I have my reservations about it showing dirt because it is such a light color, but her previous set washed up well so I’m optimistic.
(My daughter is 8 years old and 4’6. 5” tall, 72 lbs, long torso and legs, for reference. ).
The Roxy Meade Jr girls’ winter sports jacket is as ready for the snow as your kid is, with strategically placed thermal insulation and 10K DryFlight waterproof technology to keep her warm and dry. It is a comfortable, cool-looking winter jacket that features a fixed hood with a removable synthetic fur trim, a powder skirt, plenty of pockets, and plenty of style.
Bought this jacket for my daughter and it fits true to size. So glad I found it for a discounted price on evo! I would definitely shop here again and purchase this jacket again. It is a classic snow coat that will last her for years to come.
It’s good for down hill skiing, might be a bit too warm for cross country. It does have a band/belt of extra material at the waist that is suppose to attach to your snowpants. It has snaps, but they don’t work with my pants so I may trim this out.
So far the artificial fur trim looks nice. One thing taking getting used to is the front pockets. If you are used to side hip type pockets these front ones feel a little awkward.
FOR: Staying warm outside and weekend adventures FEEL: Long length down in our warmest fill for winter FAVE: Thumbholes keep sleeves in place Confidence charm in pocket for fidgety fingers Full coverage hood Two front hand pockets to stash her treasures Close to the body for live-in comfort Body length in size medium: Regular: 26″.
I loved hers so much I wanted one for myself, so I ordered a girl’s 14. It fit but looks so much better on her. I usually do most of my shopping for clothes online these days, so when I knew I needed to return it, I took a peek around the store.
The staff was gracious and helpful! They even pointed me in the direction to another adult coat/jacket that I kind of fell in love with. So. point is, is that everyone is happy and ended up with something nice and warm for the winter.
( I may have grabbed an extra shirt or 2 while in store). Geez it’s all so soft. The staff doesn’t hound you, you’re just drawn to the soft laid back style. I couldn’t leave. I won’t be going back any time soon.
Back to online when in need. Great service though and always always love me some Athleta!.
I’m a petite 57-year-old- 5’1″,106 lb. , 33″ chest, muscular build. I have bought Athleta products for years. I like having the option to buy from Athleta Girl, because sometimes the fit is quite good.
This time, the fit was pretty darn good in XXL, but would have been better in the arms if they were not fleece. Other than that, this is a well made, beautiful, warm coat. I wish it would have worked out.
Well-made, high-quality. The sleeves are fleece-lined which adds warmth and coziness, but some may complain that it pulls up on the sleeves when putting the coat on. I have found Athleta girl sizing to run small.
I’ve found this to be consistent for shorts, leggings, shirts, and now jackets. My daughter wears Size 12 in Gap, but needs Size 16 in Athleta.
Keep your mini-me stylishly cosy in this girls’ navy Charpal long coat from Moncler Enfant. Renowned for producing the down jacket to protect mountain workers, this chunky full length coat with embossed zip fastening keeps the elements out and the style stakes high.
Zipped pockets sit neatly at the hips and the tapered waist with elasticated back ensures the cut of this coat remains uncompromised even on the coldest days. There’s a chunky structured hood to keep little ears and faces warm and a windproof collar stand with popper fastenings to keep out the chill.
Contrasting woven tape to inner back label flash the Moncler signature colour palette and complement the heavy duty embroidered Moncler badge to the side sleeve. 100% Nylon.
An updated Columbia classic for young ladies, the Girls’ Benton Springs II Full-Zip Fleece Jacket offers instant insulation in a versatile, everyday style with a new, more active slim cut. This soft and cozy fleece jacket features a stand-up collar, full-length front zipper, self-fabric binding at the cuffs, and on-seam hand pockets with secure zipper closures.
Princess seaming throughout ensures a flattering, feminine fit. 250-gram, 100% polyester MTR filament fleece fabric. Modern Classic fit. Imported.
We have ordered this jacket twice for my daughter. Each time we’ve sized up for extra growing room. Great material and durable. It took 2 years before we replaced this last one and its still in great condition.
No holes, rips, or tears. I’ll also mention, this is her favorite jacket.
We are a very outdoorsy family and love these jackets! Perfect for cooler summer nights when camping or layered under a winter coat or spring jacket to guarantee your kids can make it all day outside.
The colour is beautiful and the jackets last (this is not the first time we’ve purchased).
My parents gifted these to me a couple years ago and the kids outgrew them so I was happy to find some here! They are super comfortable and warm. They have pockets. The colour is beautiful too. This is a must for our cold winters! Fits a bit big compared to other brands youth sizing.
LEELEE is a washable nano down coat with a removable silver fox Signature Mackage Collar. Water resistant and repellent, it features an asymmetrical zip closure, hidden toggle at the hood, and an inner bib with rib collar for personalized protection.
A windproof shell made from our New Tech fabric ensures additional coverage. A trend-forward piece that amplifies comfort and ease.
It’s comfortable and feels rather easy to move in- not bulky or restrictive. The inner lining is smooth and allows you to partially close your coat, which is a great feature for less frigid weather. The cinching at the waist coupled with the external belt on the back is a stylish touch.
The quality of the material seems great, though this must be further tested with time (I’ve had it for a week). The pockets are lined with velvety-material and are comfortable, though I would prefer that they were a bit deeper.
The degree of warmth/insulation the coat provides thus far is acceptable, though it should be noted that the outer zipper must be closed to maintain proper insulation. It gets down to -45 degrees F, so I’ll have to test the coat out further once temperatures drop more precipitously (will provide an update in a couple months for a more robust and thorough review of weather-related performance).
Hands down, 10/10 when it comes to style. It’s sleek, grand, and eye-catching in an elegant way. I look forward to enjoying and testing it further.
I want to change my review to a lower score. Originally I gave the coat three stars because the zipper was coming off. That was only a couple weeks ago. Since then my zipper has proceeded to come off even more to the point that it flaps when I walk and zipping it is near impossible.
This probably won’t happen until you use the coat in winter, when you need the coat. I was under the impression this was a high quality coat. They want to take the coat for 3-4 weeks in the middle of winter to fix it, which defeats the purpose of having a warm coat in winter.
This is only my second full winter with the coat. Every time I bend over the zipper comes off more because it is already coming off. I think by the time I can send it in(after the coldest part of winter), the zipper will be hanging off halfway up the jacket.
Maybe it will look so ridiculous, or I won’t be able to zip it at all, and I’ll stop wearing it, but it was purchased to get me through the coldest part of winter. I’ll have nothing. Very disappointed with this.
This is the only Mackage I ever owned, and the winter coat I ever owned to have a zipper come off.
What I like: The bib is awesome on this coat. Great to have the bib zipped up and leave the front open on not as cold days. There’s also a button to close the front over the bib without fully zipping it (this is a nice touch).
The pockets are fleece lined and zip up. There’s an interior pocket, which is handy to stash my mask when not in use. This coat has kept me warm on -10 Toronto days so far. What I don’t like: The big hood is nice but not entirely practical.
It does have a button to make it tighter so that it can stay on your head better. I am petite and the sleeves are really long so they bunch a bit. The coat is puffier than it looks in the pics making it bulkier than I like, but I guess you need that for the warmth.
I would have preferred a fabric material (like Nobis) over the more plastic feel of Mackage. I tried a XS and S and the XS was too tight where I could wear a S with a mid-thick sweater.
There are many different types of winter coats for kids and girls on the market, so it can be difficult to choose the right one. The most important thing is to make sure that the coat is warm and waterproof.
A good winter coat should also be comfortable to wear and easy to move around in.
There are a few different types of fabrics that are commonly used in winter coats. Down is a popular choice because it is very light and warm. However, down coats can be expensive and they are not always waterproof.
Another popular choice is synthetic insulation, which is cheaper but not as warm as down.
Fleece is a popular choice for lining winter coats because it is soft and warm. However, fleece can make the coat less breathable, so it is important to choose a coat with a good ventilation system if you plan on being active in the winter.
The most important thing to remember when choosing a winter coat is to make sure that it is the right size. A coat that is too big will be bulky and difficult to move around in, while a coat that is too small will not provide enough warmth.
It is also important to make sure that the coat is comfortable to wear. If you are going to be active in the winter, make sure to choose a coat that has a good ventilation system to avoid getting too sweaty.
