20 Best Winter Coats For Chicago (2023 Updated)

I bought this last year in the Regular XL. I was an 18 at the time. It didn’t close unless I really pulled it. Especially with heavier tops like a sweater. I have lost weight this year and am a big 14 or typical 16.

The XL fits me now. I still wouldn’t call it big though. All my other size 18 coats are big on me this year. I am 5’8″ 195lbs. Not a big chest, but taller build around my back. More apple shaped than hippy.

I would size up if you are slightly between sizes or even if you just want the room for heavy tops. I do like the coat this year! It is very lightweight while still being warm. The hood is a little slippery and likes to fall in my face, but I only wear it for short periods (like walking through a parking lot or something) so it is fine.

I REALLY wish the fur were removable. I just don’t think the black fur is that pretty. I have a older coat with lovely fur trim that I would like to swap, but it seems like a big sewing project to attempt the change.

So I live with it. I did brush it with a natural bristle brush to try to make it more fluffy or something, and it helped a little. I do appreciate the double zipper, but rarely use this feature. If I know I will be sitting soon, I will just use the snaps rather than fussing with the zipper and then trying to unzip it from the bottom.

I love that there are both. It isn’t waterproof, but the nylon shell does repel snow and some light rain for a short while. Overall, I really like the lightweight nature of it and that it isn’t as “puffy” as some down coats, but still is warmer than wool.

I am happy that it fits me this year!.

Good points: – This jacket is exceptionally light weight. – It’s insulated with down and warm enough for driving around / running errands on most Minnesota winter days. – It is 100% nylon both inside and out – the material is soft and slides easily over a sweater or flannel shirt.

– Size 1X is cut very generously (especially in the waist and hips) and easily allows for bulky clothes underneath. – The chevron (V-shaped) quilting is more figure flattering than straight-line / vertical quilting.

Bad points: – The sleeves are rather short and my shirt sleeves poke out from the cuffs. – There is only loose elastic in the cuffs which doesn’t keep out cold air. Many Lands’ End winter jackets have an inner knit cuff – that would improve this item a lot.

– I got this in Deep Sea Navy with a bright blue lining in the hood and jacket interior. Although I like the bright blue better than the rather boring navy, sticking to one color – like the solid Black and solid Limelight versions – would make it easier to match this jacket with a scarf and hat.

I recommend this jacket but not at full price – if I didn’t get it at a really good sale price, I would not have bought it.

I have a LE puffy vest (the 600+) that takes me down to 25 degrees with a sweater. I needed something with sleeves so ordered this slightly different version. Out of the package I was worried because it was SO thin (actually wrinkled!) May be true to size but slightly large on me, okay if I want to wear extra sweater layer underneath.

Pockets are HUGE and deep. Easily holds phone, keys, various small animals, and a sandwich if that’s your thing. Especially cold day in Chicago yesterday — 11 degrees, sunny — so I wore it for a walk over a single thick long-sleeved shirt, jeans, gloves, hat and earmuffs.

Walked for about 45 minutes. Only part of me that got cold were my legs in the jeans and my hands in the gloves. Perfectly insulated in every part that this coat covered, and even had to take off my scarf because I got too warm.

Bought one of the longer ones for my daughter who runs hot, and I know she’ll appreciate not having to layer up to walk to school, and especially the ability to easily cram this coat into her backpack or the top shelf of a very small locker that traditional coats won’t fit into.

I bought this jacket for myself while it was on sale. It’s great! Super warm and cozy! The materials are smooth and comfortable, and the fit is stylish. It’ll look great with casual looks, but I think it’ll also go well for slightly dressier occasions because of the classic looking style.

The zipper pulls move effortlessly. I haven’t tried them with gloves on yet, but they’re not too fiddly without gloves, so I expect them to do well. My only complaint is the sleeves. I have very long arms and torso, and it’s very difficult to find jackets that fall at my wrist and below my hips.

My preference is for sleeves to come down on my hands a little, which makes finding a comfortable jacket even harder. I thought if I ordered a Tall, that’s the sleeves would come down onto my hands a bit, but they don’t.

They still come down right at the wrist, which is great compared to regular jackets, but I guess I was looking at the pictures for this jacket too much and expected it to land like the sleeves on the green jacket does in the pictures Eddie Bauer lists.

The torso fits great though, and the sleeves aren’t a big enough issue to me to return it, but just keep in mind that the sleeves don’t come down passed the wrists even in the tall. Otherwise I’m sorry happy with this jacket and I’m looking forward to the many tears of use I’ll get out of it!.

As other reviewers have said, this coat is SO heavy & thick! It’s just way too cumbersome. I live in Chicago, so I need a warm coat, but warmth & heaviness don’t have to go hand in hand. Another thing I hate about this coat is that the hood is enormous! Trust me, I am very picky about hoods & one thing that really bothers me is when a hood is too small.

I’ve returned coats for this reason alone, so I was looking for a hood that provided adequate coverage, but this on is just way too big. It actually comes down over my eyes when I have it up (& this is without the fur attached).

The sherpa lining inside the coat makes it too warm for most days (the same reason I had to return the Lodge Cascadian) – and I am always cold. I also think the sleeves are a tad too short & the cuffs are too loose around my wrists.

As others have said, the zipper is not smooth & does get caught on the fabric. And for some reason, the pull thing on the zipper is really big. That’s not a big deal, but it’s just another thing that bugs me.

The pockets are fleece lined, which is nice, and they are decent enough, but I still feel like they could be a bit bigger. I am 5’4, 125 lbs. , got the small & it fits well. It hits just above my knees.

I’m returning this one & will be on the hunt again for something warm but much lighter & with a normal size hood.

This really is a beautiful coat-I purchased at reduced cost (why I rated 5 stars for value). I purchased for a trip to the northern climes this winter. Wanted a longer coat than my ski jacket. I like that it wasn’t a shiny material (purchased Atlantic color) like other down coats.

I usually wear a Large, but sized up as I find EB jackets are often too narrow at the hips. The style of this coat is very slimming. I was just not a fan of the hood. Loved the look with the fur trim, but goodness it is huge no matter how I adjusted it (tab on back, pulls on side).

I guess if you were also wearing a knit pom hat it might work, but I think your noggin would melt with a hat and this insulated hood. The lining was nice, easily to pull on over sweaters or fleece. I decided to return the coat for a few reasons: 1) the hood 2) the XL reg wasn’t the best fit for me-sleeves too long, too big across back 3) I like a 2 way zipper, but found the zipper on this coat got stuck in inner flap pulling up or down 4) it’s very heavy for a down coat.

But hey. it is called the Sun Valley Arctic Down coat for a reason. I had also ordered it XL Petite thinking it might fit better and it was now half off. But, pretty sure I’ll be returning this one too for reasons noted once I receive it.

But, if you have a need for a really stylish, really warm coat, that the giant hood is manageable for you and you are better at zipping coat on and off, go for it! You’ll look great and be toasty warm! And, if you get it on sale, you’ll be even happier you ordered it.

To meet my travel needs, I bought the EB MicroTherm 2. 0 packable down jacket with hood that I can layer under my EB Windfoil Elite hooded waterproof coat (which is surprisingly warm, packable and definitely stylish).

I can layer this coat over the down jacket and fleece topper (if needed) and still have room to move.

The buying process was very smooth, the choosing process was a little harder as there are so many options to choose from. Although the products are mainly aimed at refrigerated industries, construction, and outside commercial activities my family and I have used the RefrigiWear products during our daily activities.

My experience with your products during my employment in a food plant made me a believer of staying warm while you work, and also while you play at home or anywhere cold. My wife loves her new parka as it keeps her warm everywhere we go.

Amazing coat. So versatile. I’m a short guy.5’5″ 190lbs So I got a 42S and it’s perfect on me. Definitely impressed with the quality as well.

If gearing up for fall or winter you need to really check out this Alpine North puffer. Usually I take a size large. The cut is so good that a medium fit the bill. Allows for great mobility. The color is fantastic.

Was tiring of limited shades for the past years. Durable. Great stitch work. Easy to maintain. Makes life easier. Insulates and breathes. At the cuffs are classic thumb notches. Classic outdoor wear.

Fantastic for DIYers. If you don’t poor shower floors all the time, this device makes it really easy and goof proof. My first shower floor turned out perfect and works like a dream, plus I saved thousands of dollars doing it all my self.

They only support five sides of the slope, does not come with weep hole protectors, took too long to get to me, I pretty much had to stay on hold the entire time.

This is a very comfortable coat. It falls just above the knee so it is great for cold or windy weather. It is surprisingly warm in freezing temperatures. The material is very smooth and silky. Nice colors too! I recommend this purchase.

Very pretty jacket super comfortable and warm I honestly got surprised when arrived I wasn’t expecting that great quality for the price I paid. I normally wear medium 5. 3” 140 lbs and I ordered m based and the reviews but it was too big for me so I returned it and ordered a small and it fit me perfectly.

I’ve been looking for a longer coat to cover part of my legs, this is perfect! It’s super cozy, warm, and also fashionable too! My husband said I look great in it! When it rains, the coat is also water resistant.

I saw bad reviews about the zipper, but it’s not bad at all, if you just have it lined up and all the way down correctly.

I’m impressed with the quality/warm and price on this winter coat. Love the cuffs, keeps cold air from going up the sleeve. The hood stays up even when windy if zipped all the way up. I got the deep purple, nice color.

I have been wearing this model for quite a few years. They used to last several years, the front zipper. Now days, like everything else, they are not made to last that long, so we will buy another unit.

Seems the local repair shops want $50-60 area to sew in a new zipper, and can put a heavier duty zipper in if they can find. Is what I do. Sometimes fix and sometimes buy another, and have had more than a dozen.

Too many, even what are called parkas, are too short of length. To be warmer, the jacket/parka MUST go to near mid-thigh area. This jacket provides that, and I do always get the tall size, which makes a difference of about two inches longer.

All the pockets are larger on this model. Too many jackets have too small of pockets to be of much value. I have stayed dry in this jacket during moderate precip of rain and snow. Much of my outdoor, all-weather activity involves being horseback.

The longer sleeves provide enough extra length to help keep most of the weather from getting inside my gloves/mittens. Overall, I really like this jacket/parka. As said prior, the front main zipper is the only weak point.

Needs to be much more heavy duty.

This was a replacement for a worn-out coat of another brand that served me well for over two decades. Tough shoes to fill, indeed. My requirements were simple – the replacement needed to be toasty warm in whatever nature throws at me, windproof and absolutely, positively waterproof.

I got all those things and a few extras with this parka! The fit and function of the parka are spot on. Excellent pockets, great storm flap over the front zipper, and not bad looking to boot. I also really appreciate the insulated and detachable hood.

I’m not personally a fan of hoods, so it’s nice to be able to zip it off. The collar has a nice fleece lining that feels good against your skin. I also appreciate the two way zipper, as sitting in a coat that comes below your waist can be like a strait jacket at times.

This solves the problem nicely. I highly, highly recommend it as an effective shield against nasty winter weather.

This coat kept me completely comfortable while working outdoors on the coldest NHL hockey game in history, the Minnesota Winter Classic at Target Field. Yet for all the superior insulating value that it offers, It’s incredibly lightweight and not at all bulky.

The hood functioned better than that on any previous coat. The soft inner collar lining is a nice touch. It has a large number of voluminous, well placed and entirely useful pockets. The fabric inside the arms is very silky, allowing one to easily slide one’s shirt sleeves in & out.

The only downside in the lower zipper pull. When pulled up on its own, it manages to always gets caught up on the inner fabric. The somewhat inconvenient solution is to always use the upper & lower zipper pulls together, which alleviates the catching issue.

Overall, well worth the cost.

I ordered this in Evening Blue and I’m very pleased with it overall. The color is beautiful and the fabric seems high quality for a wool blend. The coat I received is not stiff at all and arrived without any wrinkles, on a hanger and folded in a box.

I wanted a dressier, warmer coat than my usual quilted jackets. I also just wanted a wool coat. I usually order XL petite in tops and L petite in pants. I ordered a 16 petite in this coat and it fits with some room to spare, but I’ve not tried it over a sweater yet.

I like to err on the looser side, although I think a 14P might have worked. I do like that it comes in number sizes rather than M, L, etc; I was simply unsure which size to order. It is also very generous in length for a petite.

The sleeves come below my wrists (significantly longer than on the model); any longer and they’d be unusable for me. The length is a few inches above my knee which is fine, but a little longer than expected.

I was hesitant about the neckline but I’m okay with it, too. So far the two-way zipper works okay on mine, although it takes a minute to fasten. Just going from the car to indoors I’ll probably wear it unzipped, but zipped if walking around outside.

Btw, the zipper on my evening blue coat is silver colored, fortunately not brass as one review mentioned for another color. The zipper instead of buttons and the non-traditional neckline are just part of its style, and it’s a pretty coat imo.

It has a little heft to it as a wool coat should but isn’t too bulky. I like the quilted lining and the deep pockets for my hands. The inside pocket easily holds an iPhone 13 in a case. The sleeves are roomy on me but my arms aren’t large.

I like that they are also insulated some for warmth as in some coats the sleeves are not. I’m more apple shaped, and the coat has enough room through the waist and hips but doesn’t look boxy. I’m unsure how to rate the fit, but I think overall it might run just a bit larger than expected.

The length for a petite is definitely generous. I managed to get it for half-price during a promo, so I’m also pleased with that! I would not have paid full price for it but that’s me. The quality seems excellent; perhaps the styling and/or fit aren’t for everyone but they work for me.

I love this coat.

I ordered the teal shade of this coat in a size 4. The coat is absolutely gorgeous. Especially the color. The lining will definitely make us a warm addition to a winter wardrobe. A few things I didn’t like about this coat: number one it has a double zipper which is kind of difficult to zip.

Second reason why this did not receive more stars is the coat fits a little strange. I am 5 foot 5 and 117 pounds. The smallest size they had in the regular length was a four. The shoulders and the arms fit OK, just a little loose … But the rest of the Coat was huge, with very little shape.

I almost look like a bell, lol. I used a gift card for the purchase so I will keep it, just have to deal with the fact that it’s not very flattering. Maybe a belt would help.

Even though on a hanger, coat was very wrinkled. Very heavy. Fabric stiff and can tell immediately it isn’t 100% wool. Actually only 60% wool, 35% polyester. The color camel is spot on. Nicely insulated, including sleeves.

With my arms down, sleeve length is perfect. However, if I raise my arms a few inches they are too short. Can’t raise my arms high or cross my arms. Ample room in chest (my breasts aren’t large) but no extra room in hips.

Number one reason I’m returning is the darn zipper. I spent 15 minutes trying to zip coat to no avail!! I normally wear a 3X petite. I ordered 20 petite. If I was going to reorder, I would order a 22 petite.

I wouldn’t order a non petite because coat would be too long. I need a dress coat. I’m going to order the wool blend that buttons versus zipper in a 22 petite.

Wanted something a little more durable than a puff jacket that had a removable hood. This has to be the best designed coat I have ever worn. It’s nice and warm, interior pocket and double zipper is very useful, and the outer pockets have a dual layer, a softer pocket hides in the front under a flap so behind is free for your hands to stay warm – smart! Doubles as a hiding place for valuable items because you cant tell there’s anything in them if it’s thin.

Drawstrings cinch the hood and waist if needed. The fit is true to size but roomy if you want to layer. I’m 5 foot 8, 170 lbs with broad shoulders and the arms are just long enough for me to tuck my hands inside but the sleeves don’t fall down over them.

That’s just how I like my coats. It looks great and could do well for casual wear, going to work, or dressed up a little. All in all, fantastic deal! Looking for many years with this coat.

I would have given this coat 5 stars except for the previously mentioned problem that the material attracts any dust particle around and because of the size, shape and position of the outside pockets.

The two pockets sit on top of each other. The outer one has a flap which limits the opening to only 4 3/4 ” which makes it difficult to stow larger objects. The inner pocket has a 6″ opening. Since the opening to both pockets is on an angle I find that I can stow only a cell phone, keys, handkerchief and maybe a small cap.

Also the position of the pockets makes it awkward to walk with hands in a pocket. That said, I am keeping this coat because the hood is adjustable, a feature that is almost impossible to find in women’s winter coats or jackets.

I bought a size small which allows me to wear a warm jacket underneath and that keeps me comfortably warm.

The green is a dark pine. Length of arms are not too long for my petite frame. Sized up to S from XS to bundle up underneath. Double pockets are great. The hood is detachable (zipper connection) and fits snug – therefore making it challenging to wear a pom beanie underneath.

Would like the ability to cinch in the waist, but I do not mind having room underneath. Since I am short, the length is below my knees, love the dual zipper to provide extra mobility if needed.

I moved from the UK to Canada almost three years ago, and have been scraping by during winter by not going outside much, layering, and using what I realize now is a thin piece of fabric shaped like a coat.

With it being the pandemic, going outside is now pretty much the only option to leaving the house this year, so I knew the time had come. A friend recommended Noize, knowing my eco-friendly vegan-at-heart self would prefer to never know warmth again over buying a product with real fur/down/made out of environmentally damaging synthetics.

And I’ve been really, really impressed so far. The first time I wore it out, I only knew it was cold thanks to the small amount of my face that was exposed and slowly becoming numb. It’s like wearing a duvet, but socially acceptable to keep on in the grocery store.

I never in my wildest dreams thought I could go out on a -10 windy day with only a short-sleeve t-shirt under my coat, but Noize rose to the challenge! While I haven’t braved a snowstorm to test it out to its maximum capacity, I did end up with quite a few flecks of a soft drink down the middle of my coat (long story) which froze into icy droplets.

I’m pleased to report that my torso on the inside had absolutely no idea anything was amiss – so definitely waterproof too! I got the Addie in forest green, and it can zip up literally from the knees to the chin.

If that seems alarming at all, there is also dual zip for opening the bottom more if you want to take bigger strides! The pockets are deep and the hood is extremely soft. If it wasn’t for my satisfied conscience (and the label), I’d have no idea the insides are made from recycled plastic.

Love the coat, exactly like the pic! It’s nice and thick, I like how it’s made from recyclable material. I live up north of Canada, it gets over -30 Celsius where I live. It’s hard to find a good looking coat, and still able to keep you warm, for a great price too! I’m glad I have found Noize.

Another plus for me is that they tell how much temperature it can withstand, not many other brands to do that. I would give this 4. 5, but they only gives you 4 or 5 star option. So I’m giving it 4 star.

The pockets are a bit too small for my liking. I can fit my iPhone XR, but put anything bigger or more won’t fit or it would be to tight. I would like to put more stuff in it. I’m not purse type of person, so I prefer bigger pockets.

The shoulder area is a bit tight, I can still move around in it even with a sweater. I just prefer more looser feel to it. The zippers feels a bit cheap, but I think it can withhold. Needs few minor tweaks, but over all a great coat!.

I typically run warm/hot so I was looking for something for early Spring and Fall, maybe even Summer evenings. This is my go-to for anything and everything lately – walking the dog, walking to work, hiking, grocery shopping, etc.

Packs so small there’s no reason not to have it and it provides me with sufficient warmth when I put it on. For breezy temps around 0 degrees Celcius I can wear this with a light sweater under and be perfectly fine, it just cuts the wind/cold perfectly for me.

For instance, my hands and ears will be cold but not my core. If I’m moving at moderate exertion, I can ditch the sweater and go with a long sleeve base layer. If it’s too warm, I just unzip it to allow it to vent, which it does pretty well on its own, since it’s more breathable than the regular Houdini.

I was worried about not having hand-warmer pockets, but I actually don’t mind it at all – I just use my pant pockets if I really need to warm my hands. Also keeps me from bringing anything unnecessary.

The jacket isn’t fitted which allows for layering and a single cinch at the waist gets it dialed in – which I’d prefer. Size reference for me: L in the following – Down Sweater (jacket and hoody), Torrentshell jacket, and Jackson Glacier Parka.

I can easily layer this over my down sweaters. Price tag is a bit steep, but it’s Patagonia quality/ethos and I am very happy with this purchase! Location: Calgary, AB.

This parka truly is a beast! I’ve been wearing it non stop since mid December due to a really cold run of weather (-25C to -35C). The interior of the jacket is really smooth and glides over anything you have on.

The zipper is easy (not too low) and slides without much effort. Folks have said that the pockets are deal breakers because they’re not insulated. While I agree that this could be better, I find that I don’t really use the pockets often because I’m wearing a thick pair of gloves/mitts with the jacket which wouldn’t fit in the pockets anyway.

On the odd time that I wear thinner gloves, it’s easy to fit my hands in the pockets without issue and they help block the wind so my hands don’t get too cold. The snorkel hood design is excellent and makes the jacket have a great collar when the hood is down.

Even in these freezing temperatures, I can zip up the neck without the hood and bury my face deep inside, which covers well above my nose and ears. Having the hood up adds some serious warmth when there are cross winds.

The only downside of having the hood up is when the wind is head-on and I find that the wind funnels down the neck of the jacket. Like with any down product, you have to move to get things heated up to trap the warmth, but once you’re warm it’s hard for that heat to escape.

The buttons add great style although I haven’t had a need to use the top two because it does prevent unzipping the collar if you need to come up for air. Love this jacket. It’s sleek, stylish and really warm.

Highly recommended.

Had this jacket for a year now, and it is my absolute favourite jacket for running and cycling when it’s misty or drizzle. It is so breathable and thin it feels like you don’t even have a jacket on. It feels nice against the skin, I can wear it with a tank top or T shirt just to keep the chill off when there is some rain while being really active.

It’s very good as a windbreaker. It’s not designed to be waterproof, and that’s why I bought it, it’s That ideal balance of breathable but some water protection and wind protection. It packs down tiny into the chest pocket to fit in a belt bag or clip to the bike.

I was worried it would tear quickly, as it feels and looks tissue paper thin. But it is not fragile ! it’s survived mtb all year round, winds up shoved in the back or the truck, tramped on by kids, and it keeps going.

I sized up, I’m always a small in Patagonia and went with the medium and no regrets, it’s not baggy but has room in the shoulder. Oh and the hood is fantastic under a bike helmet, has a toggle at the back to angle the hood away from your vision.

The cuffs are baggy, which I like cause I can easily slide it up to check my garmin while moving, but that could be be a downside for some. 10/10 would recommend this jacket.

I was very excited about this parka. Windproof, waterproof and well insulated – what more to ask for to survive the Swedish winter. But I just don’t like it. The fit is too wide. Size M feels like a tent and let’s too much air in, so I never feel cozy and warm.

The hood is heavy and keeps the collar too close to your neck – it feels very uncomfortable with the zip constantly scratching your neck. The collar is very stiff to. The hood fur looks cheap and the color is purple, which ruins the whole thing.

The parka is heavy too. Overall I am quite disappointed as I was looking for a parka I could have for years, instead I dread wearing it. Would be good to return it, but I don’t think I can.

Das Fell lässt sich übrigens abnehmen. Natürlich muss man bei Minusgraden auch noch dickere Pullis drunter ziehen, aber ich habe mehrere (Daunen-) Mäntel verschiedener Outdoor-Firmen probiert und dieser war mit Abstand der Beste.

Hier gibt es auch keine Probleme mit Kältebrücken. Im Herbst (so knapp unter 10 Grad) trage ich ihn nur mit T-Shirt oder dünnen Pullis drunter. Hilfreich ist auch, dass er wasserabweisend ist. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Es treten innen leider immer wieder kleine Daunen aus, was bei dunkler Kleidung drunter etwas ärgerlich ist.

Enige kleine opmerking is dat aan de onderkant een trekkoord handig zou zijn. Heb maat M gekozen alles past goed, heb alleen iets breder bovenbenen waardoor het aantrekken van de jas niet in een soepele beweging gaat.

Als je hem dan wat breder kan instellen aan de onderkant zou dat ideaal zijn. Voor de rest was het mij het geld waard.

I have been wearing this to walk the dog in the evenings, light wind, ranging from +2 to -2C. The wind feels cold and I need to layer with this. I have been wearing a long sleeve shirt with a fleece over top with this to stay warm.

And i am just barely comfortable and not over heating. Not sure what it’s going to do for me when actual winter comes and its -10C. Barely keeps me warm in the rink watching the kids play hockey. The neck is useless, no insultation there, always need a neck warmer or high neck fleece with it.

Got this to replace a “cheap” Helly parka, which was soooo much warmer! First Patagonia product I’ve been disappointed in. The length is nice, and its tts, those are the positives i guess.

so many faults with this jacket. 1. when zipped up, it hits your neck or chin since theres way too little space when zipped up — did the designers forget that people have a chin? 2. there is only 1 interior pocket, and its very far up your chest and far too small.

it barely fits my cardholder, let alone most phones. 3. the exterior hand pockets happen to be the perfect size for my phone (pixel 6) to get stuck inside if it gets into a horizontal position. 4. the hand cuff design was a nice idea, but poorly executed as the down makes it look like its flaring out, and looks silly.

5. for a 700 fill jacket, you’d think it’d be light but its actually heavier than my 800 and 850 fill power jackets. the materials also feel cheap (subjective i guess).

This is my first Patagonia product. I want to start by saying I find the jacket is warm however my issue is related to the design/functionality of the coat. I find it extremely frustrating that with this length there is a split seam in the back.

If I have to bend down or get into the car I have to pull the bottom of the coat up And if I don’t then when I sit on it or bend down it really pulls the upper body and makes it difficult to have full functional use of my arms.

I am surprised this wasn’t thought of during the design phase. This was a gift so I couldn’t have found this issue during the trying on process. I don’t think I would recommend this. Functionality needs to be thought about during Design.
