20 Best Winter Boots For Walking (2023 Updated)

I had been very happy with my previous version of Columbia 200gram winter boots, and was hoping these would be their replacement. One of my favorite things about my previous boots was the wide toe box.

Although they were the normal width, I figured it would be safer to go with wide given the option, knowing I have wide feet. Even the wide version of these boots was too narrow, significantly narrower than my old boots, very inconsistent.

Additionally, the wide bugaboot also has the gold glitter tongue, although it’s pictured without on the website and even the outside of the box. Granted it should typically be covered by pants/gaiters, whoever thought this would be a good look for men’s boots was seriously confused.

Both of these complaints are a result of wishfully thinking I could get a good value buying online, so partially my own fault. To end on a positive note, one of the main activities I had intended to use these for is fat biking, and the flat, uniform tread seemed like it would be a great choice for platform pedals.

The boot fits! One of the hardest parts of shopping especially for shoes and boots! I’m a size 15 in Nikes and other gym/basketball shoes, but with Columbia I fit perfectly in a size 14 WIDE! This sturdy well crafted boot does what it says.

Keeps my feet warm with only 1 pair of wool socks. I will probably update the review later once if snows but so far so good! Color and style isn’t too bad either. The tongue does have a little of the gold spots on the top but who cares just tells you their new and shiny! Also, I’m a big boy (6’ 300+lbs.

) with big boy feet problems such as planters and tendinitis, this boot is comfy and DID NOT NEED TO BE BROKEN IN!! Also, no need for the special inserts as it has a great soft supporting interior! Overall step confidently with these warm stylish boots! From exploring Mt.

Everest to walking your pup for potty, invading and pillaging villages to helping Santa on rooftops dropping off gift, these boots are made for walking and they fit!!.

I bought these boots to replace a 10 year old pair of Bugaboot Plus XTMs, and I am happy I did! They’re an insulated hiker style, with a 9″ shaft height, and 400g insulation. 400g is the “sweet spot” for an insulated hiker in my opinion- 200g and less is too close to what you can get with a non-insulated waterproof hiker and heavyweight wool socks; 600g and up tend to be heavy, stiff, clunky, and too warm for most conditions (causing your feet to sweat) unless you’re sedentary, in which case a pac boot would be a better choice.

They have a wedge sole like an ironworker boot which is dual-density- harder rubber on the outside, and a shock-absorbing layer above it, great for rocky terrain or sidewalks. These boots have a full set of features I appreciate.

There is a rand on the toe cap, so they don’t get scuffed, and the leather is protected. The mid-foot strap is another great feature, as it keeps the fit dialed in, even if you switch between thicker and thinner socks.

The pull-on loop is big and robust. The tongue is gusseted, which keeps snow out, and the top speed hook is well placed, making lacing these boots up quick and easy. Columbia even improved these over the previous Bugaboot models- the Omni-Heat Gold heat-reflective liner really does work.

Previous Bugaboots also had a seam where the shaft met the foot of the boot, which allowed water in. This seam has been changed, and the boots can now be immersed without inundation- they’re not wading boots though, so if that’s what you need, go for an insulated rubber boot.

There’s also the intangible factor- I think they look good too!.

I purchased a pair and wore them daily for about 2 months straight on a europe trip (they were my only pair). I don’t think I will be able to wear them next year however. They were great on the fit, waterproofing, sole, and warmth….

until they weren’t. They stretched out so much! I need inserts within the first month so that my feet would stop slipping around, and then I couldn’t wear them without thick socks because the heels kept stretching.

Now, the ankle parts are too stretched out and I would not trust them with snow anymore because they would be very easy to get in the top. When I first got them they were perfect but within this 2-month timeframe they have more than an inch extra spacing on the stretch.

At this price point and brand-name, I was hoping for them lasting more than a season.

These boots are amazing, just what you would expect from Merrill. I normally wear an 11 medium but bought an 11 wide this time as I wear thick wool socks in MN. For probably the last 15-20 years I have only bought Merrill boots and shoes as I an disabled and have trouble with arthritic feet and balance.

I have probably bought over 1000 pairs as I love shoes and this is the first pair of Merrill’s thAt are way too small. I would say 2 sizes and the width seems like a narrow. I do not have wide feet. Great looking boot, extremely warm and amazing traction but beware of sizing.

I bought these boots in Winter 2021/22 and now looking to buy a new pair because the right shoe has worn differently than the left shoe, and my right foot gets blisters. I have reread the description of this boot as advertised today, and the comments from 9 months ago.

The tag in my boot is labeled as 100 gram of insulation. Your Merrill Rep replied to concerns that the boots were advertised as 200 gram insulation when we bought them in 2021, but the tag says 100 g.

Now, I am reading the current description of the boot, and it is labeled as 100 gram. So is the boot totally different, or mis-advertised in 2021?.

Arctic sport II tall boots A friend recommended muck boots brand. I have had brilliant snow boots in the past, however standing pitch side at kids sporting events over winter, my feet remained frozen by the end of it.

I decided to move away from the snow boot for a broader range boot. I bought the artic sport tall boots and I have to say I am a complete convert and total advocate! My feet and legs are so warm in the cold weather.

You can feel the warmth surrounding your feet and legs with the technology and materials they use in making these boots. Not sure if it can be enhanced further (and maybe this is present in the higher range – which may have to be my next purchase in the future!!) but it would be amazing if muckboot could pop something further into the top of the lining boot to keep the top of the toes even warmer (personal preference as I totally feel the cold!!).

Normal wellies don’t keep the feet warm, they are a piece of rubber offering basic waterproofing to the foot. Muckboots have changed the way people look at wellies! They are more than just a wellie, they are enhanced stylish product design and technology which they have succeeded in covering so many needs of the wearer in winter.

I needed some wellies as where I walk my dogs can be quite wet. I bought the Fitflop one’s as I find their shoes and boots very comfy. They arrived and I was quite disappointed with them. They weren’t comfy and after only a couple of months wear they split and let in water.

I returned them for a refund and didn’t want to waste my money on the same again so I researched other possibilities. I came across the Muck Boots and can safely say they are now my favourite boots. They are really comfortable and you cannot feel stones and other lumps through the sole.

There is lots of room for my wide feet and they are warm and snug even in minus temperatures. They feel very sturdy and remind me a bit of rigger boots. They are great boots for dog walking and I would definitely but another pair.

If you need some great boots then don’t hesitate to buy these.

The durability of these boots is unbelievable. I wear a shoe size of 71/2 so I sized down to a 7 as recommended. They fit perfect with room for a thicker sock if I need it. They are insulated nicely , so I will have to see what will work best when winter arrives.

The downfall, for me is that they are heavy. That is a small price to pay for warmth and quality in bad weather. They have a loop in the back to slip on standing. I’m 5’3 and they reach within 3 inches of my knee cap.

I do recess duty at school so it will help with the wind for a shorter jacket. The checkered pattern is classy, but I wanted the pink accent style but they were sold out. Still happy with the pair that I bought.

The traction is hard core and I won’t trip for being 50 and easily swayed by drifts and obstacles. Don’t know about running through drifts but they won’t fall off if I need to run from something HA HA! I’m so glad I bought these and won’t hesitate to walk through mud, slush, hard snow, or ice spots.

I could go on and on and will purchase a shorter pair when I can.

My first impression of these boots was that they have an elegant finish and aren’t very bulky. Upon trying them on, I loved how warm, soft and cozy they felt against my skin. I loved how they fit securely with or without socks and the sizing is spot on (I always go a half size bigger for boots to allow for socks, but was pleasantly surprised how well they still fit without socks).

I really love the inner lining. It is extremely warm and soft and doesn’t itch like some other insulated boots do. I also feel like my feet can breathe in these. It’s easy to slide your feet in and out of these boots without unthreading the laces (big plus for me!) The sole is a very well cushioned, durable rubber with great traction and you can walk with these for hours.

They were a little squeaky at first but it’s gotten better. Sorel has basically combined the comfort of sneakers with the warmth and protection of waterproof boots. I can’t yet attest if they are indeed waterproof, as I haven’t trudged with them through rain or snow.

I got these in the color “grill” and I feel like they go with most colors. They are high enough to walk through snow, and hit at a flattering part of the ankle. I’m a little concerned that the white rubber on the bottom part will get stained, but hopefully it will be easy to clean.

These boots took a total of 10 minutes to break in. The only area that really needed breaking in is the upper area of the boots that were pushing against my ankle. I was nervous at first, but after 10 minutes they softened up and are super comfortable.

Personally, I would like to see a slightly more fashionable and sleek version of these boots so I can wear them on more occasions.

So I got these complimentary to review them. I was a little ehhhh about the pictures. I thought these looked like a little above Shoe Dazzle whoes which iI can wear for about a month(if worn consistently) and then need to throw them way before they ache my feet too much or they rip.

So first off, The first day is always the hardest because Of break in. I felt a week was better. And i felt them before putting it on and that stitching felt pretty good. The boots say they are waterproof and they felt nice as heck! They were super comfortable after the break in.

I dont think the break in period was horrible but obviouslythey are now more comfortable. I wanted to provide a very well review so I have been wearing them every single day for weeks. They keep your feet dry and warm.

I did have a pump sprayer i use to clean windows outside and i simulated what could be heavy rain and they did great. i did not have any part wet. I think the quality is super good and you can wear them for hours.

I have found the next pair ill be purchasing and they are wheat and gray. These are perfect if you also like a little broken in style. Definitely recommend.

I bought these shoes because I was going on a girls weekend and they were calling for snow. I’m from the south, so we are not used to snow. I wanted something warm and waterproof but also stylish. I’ve never bought Sorel brand before and really hesitated spending the money for something I wasn’t going to wear often, but I did.

WOW…they are so comfortable. I have bad sciatica pain and have to get new tennis shoes for work every 3 months or my back will start hurting. We walked around in the snow off and on all day, up and down hills in these boots and my back never bothered me and my feet stayed warm and dry.

Meanwhile, my friend was not wearing sorel boots and she kept complaining her feet were cold. I am now researching sorel sneakers to wear to work. I really hope that the sneakers are just as comfortable as these boots.

I am normally a 9. 5 in most shoes (except athletic tennis shoes, but I got a 10 in these boots so that I would be able to wear thicker socks. I probably could have gone down to a 9. 5, but didn’t want them to be too tight with thick socks.

I am now a HUGE fan of this brand.

This boot is amazing and perfect for toddlers. We first discovered this boot in purple for my daughter when she was ~ age 2, and she LOVED these boots – never wanted to take them off. They were true to size, warm, waterproof, and easy for her to put on and take off all by herself.

The velcro is strong and keeps the boots on adequately, but this part is what wears out the fastest on the whole boot. Importantly, these boots were warm enough to keep my toddler warm and dry in cold New Hampshire weather! Additionally, the tread on these boots is fantastic, which prevented slips on wet Tile floors or smooth surfaces (slips unfortunately happened with other well known brands).

We ended up buying these boots season after season as her feet would grow quickly. Sadly, she has now grown out of the largest size (Toddler size 9) and we’ve moved on to another style for her. My son, now age 2, also loves these boots, especially the blue color.

These boots are waterproof and also hold up well in wet or muddy fall and spring weather. Note, however, that the tops of these boots go just above the ankle and are not calf height. The low height has not been an issue for us, as we make sure the kids wear waterproof pants or snow pants with elastic openings that cover the top of the boots.

Overall a great buy, especially when they are on sale.

These are misshapen, sewn all crooked, heavy, one boot is bigger than the other. The boot tongue won’t tuck in and scrunched up horribly. Worst quality ever! YUCK Hope there’s not a big hassle returning them.

Loved these as soon as I put them on. Im very picky about anything I wear. Been putting off buying a pair of boots for the snow for about a year. Finally broke down and bought these. Only downfall is that they need more of an insole.

But the fur all the way down to the toes, so I know I will not get cold.

The boots are lovely – very warm, well fitting, and the quality is great. They are small in their size guide though, and they are very much smaller than the size they’ve been allocated. My feet are a small 5, so it’s ok, but I’d say they are more like a 4.

Originally purchased these boots in a size 4. I was disappointed as they were really tight. I normally take a size 3. 5 to 4 so I would recommend going up a size. Boots are a lovely colour I have not worn them yet but they were.

I love the look and feel of these boots, but unfortunately the size is smaller than it should be. I normally wear 38 ( UK 5) but these were so small, so I had to return them. I would love a pair, bigger size, but none left in stock.

Was worried about width as Merrell sometimes runs narrow. Ordered a half-size up to accommodate wool socks, fit is great for average widths. Feet were starting to heat up within a minute or two, so pretty sure they’ll be great this winter.

Altitude sport performed well. I received my purchase on time and I was happy with customer service. The boot meets my expectations and keeps my foot warm and dry. I experienced hours of walking in the snow and I was satisfied.

Despite having 200 gr of insulation (which makes it warm) it is relatively light weight and appropriate for long hours of walking.

So comfortable! I love very much these boots. They are very light and very cute.

A great shoe, but a little warm in normal conditions. I purchased these to lower weight on a cold weather back country hunt/hike. I have trained using these carrying 40 plus pounds in temps ranging from mid 40’s to high 70’s.

As stated they are a little warm but should be great in the mountains with temps in the high teens to low 40’s. The supplied insoles are fine for hiking without weight but I almost immediately added a set of my preferred insoles designed for heavy people ( I weigh about 162 but I’m well over 200 with a load) and they are much better.

Compared times on a regular training hike with these shoes and my Crispi Guide GTX boots and I save almost 7 minutes on average over a 6 mile route with these shoes. As long as I keep weight down around 45 pounds these are comfortable, increase speed and decrease fatigue compared to real backcountry hunting boots.

Buys some waterproofing spray, these will leak when soaked otherwise.

I have a hard time finding shoes but usually Salomon fits well as do French and Italian shoes. In this case I have a mixed review. I gave 4 stars because I think that depending on your foot and ankle shape these might be just perfect.

I suspect that many people find them very comfortable. In my case the rating is closer to 3. 5 stars Pros: The overall sizing was good, I have enough room at the toes but the boot is not too big ( I have never bought shoes on the Internet so I was concerned).

The interior of the boot has no seams or ridges, so very comfortable from that perspective. Waterproof. Reasonably light. THey look good, although I would have preferred something other than a wine trim ( why are women’s shoes so often wine, pink etc.

?). In this case the trim is subtle enough. Cons: the lacing system design isn’t very good. It’s hard to get the tension right. I am surprised that Salomon didn’t do a better job here. I have small ankles and so need the support but that part is only really adjustable at the top with only one hook on either side.

When I try to adjust for more pressure the lacing is too tight down on the foot and still too loose around the ankles. So, not ideal for my foot shape and I don’t want to spend that much time adjusting the lacing every time.

I would have expected a much better system. Also, while there are no seams or ridges inside and the boots seem very comfortable at first, but I found that after 4 mlles the soles of my feet were killing me.

It is either because there isn’t enough support or maybe not enough cushioning ( or both). I inserted a insole, which I was really hoping to avoid. Thank goodness there was enough room. The next day I did another 4 miles or so and my feet felt much better with the insole.

Again, I am surprised that Salomon didn’t do a better job in this area. Finally, this boot doesn’t really have enough grip in wet or moist conditions on pebbles or cement with embedded pebbles etc. And right now I am just walking on textured sidewalks or the road and I don’t like the slippery feeling.

This might just be a preference, so it might not bother everyone. But I have to say that I would have expected more out of a hiking boot. My hiking shoes ( not waterproof) are much more sticking in slick conditions.

I have purchased these Salomon boots for my husband, my father and my father-in-law. I also have the female version for myself. They are lightweight, waterproof and comfortable. They are perfect for everyday use throughout the winter and also works great for snowshoeing.

They have been true to size, but I did size up a half size on mine to accommodate an extra pair of socks for winter activities. I have purchased the 4 pairs over 3 years for the folks above and they are all holding up well with lots of use.

A couple of months ago, I fell on ice and broke my wrist, then fell a few more times over three weeks, prompting me to seek better traction. I tried to get the spiked pull-on boots, but they were not available in my size, so I tried these.

The first thing I noticed was the weight. These are extremely light. I wasn’t sure they would be warm enough, but they turn out to be the warmest boots I own. Grip on ice is pretty good. It’s not perfect, but I walk with confidence, and have not fallen in them.

The soles are very flexible, and don’t seem rigid enough for hard, uneven terrain. This hasn’t been a problem, since I mostly walk in the city. Speaking of walking in the city, these treads are very aggressive, and pick up a lot of salt.

I don’t know how durable these are going to be. They don’t feel cheap, but I am slightly wary. I assume the soft rubber soles will wear out before the boot do, so this isn’t a huge concern.

These boots are very comfortable and have saved me from slipping many times already. They’re not 100% on very hard ice (such as rain and then a quick freeze-down), but nothing could be. I think they should have a little more insulation/padding, which is my only complaint.

I thought it got cold in Sweden! I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan, so could use more warmth. But as a comfortable winter walking boot to keep you on your feet, not bum, these are great. Sizing was perfect, the added width was no problem, as the ankles cinch in well and gives room for thicker socks if you need them.

A well made boot. I bought it for the studded traction and waterproof aspects. I had hoped it would also be a good cold weather boot and be warm enough for Minnesota’s winters when temperatures can be well below zero.

But, unfortunately this boot is not keeping my toes warm. I am wearing good wool socks that are of medium weight for hiking. I am disappointed because the boots aren’t warm enough and I will have to go back to using cheap traction options that I can pull on & off warmer boots.

These boots have exceeded my expectations so far. First off, I live in Seattle, which means long periods of light to heavy rain for months on end, and occasionally a few inches of snow. I was looking for a new pair of boots that would last a long time and keep my feet warm and dry.

I already owned an awesome pair of Sorel slippers, and my wife loved the winter boots she had as well. So I looked for options and found this: – The warmest was the normal Sorel Caribou. These looked great and warm, but just looked too big and clunky for me to wear around the city.

If we got more than a few inches of snow a year that would be one thing, but they were just too much. – I liked the look of the Caribou Street Boot, but I already own a pair of broken in Red Wings that kept light rain out, so that would be redundant.

– Thus, in the middle was the Caribou Storm boot. The perfect balance of waterproof without being bulky. What I liked the most was the color. I had to look hard to find the black with “mud” in stock.

The black with brick was OK, and the tan ones weren’t my style as they screamed “LL Bean Duck Boots!” The final piece was the price. While all the other boots were on sale, these held fast at $225, which is super expensive.

I bided my time and searched for sales, but it stuck at that price so I thought maybe they never discount it. Finally, I saw this pair come up on Sunny Sports for $165 and I jumped on them. Delivery was fast and easy.

This past week we went the Sounders soccer game and stood outside in the rain for 3+ hours. My feet were toasty warm and dry. Excited to have these for a long time.

A few years ago I decided it was time to retire my Sorel’s I had since I was 10-12 or 25ish years. Bought these. Use only to walk from house or work to the car and back. Occasionally for walks. Nothing as crazy as when I was young and played in the snow for hours on end.

After 1 season, maybe less, the sole started to wear through on the inside so it is just the empty squares (I bought some liners in so I couldn’t feel pattern of the soles and make it it so I could continue using).

Beginning of this winter season (start of 4th winter of wearing these) found a crack in the top of the foot area so if the liner gets wet when snow touches the boot. Bought flex seal so I can continue wearing them the rest of this winter.

The quality of Sorel seems to have gone down hill. Maybe sorels are now a fashion line instead of a real quality outdoor boot. Will be researching other brands. And I used to recommend Sorel’s to anyone looking for a good quality winter boot.

This is a quality boot. Keeps your feet warm and dry and comfy. I wear them nearly every day because of this. There more like a designer boot and wouldn’t hesitate in buying another pair. Excellent quality, comfortable and perfect for walking on winter pavements. I’ve been buying Tresspass products for many years but due to the present circumstances I’m now buying online. , and even better they look pretty cool.

Warm and comfortable. Laces slightly annoying: too long with a straight forward tie up but no facility for a loop round the top of the boot to tie the excess off. Pretty satisfied so far.

I walk on ice an snow daily for 4-6 months each year. I walk my dogs out on trails, terrain that is uneven and frequently icy, for miles daily. I also find myself working outside on my property, checking buildings, walking the 1/4 drive to get mail, going out to transfer items between buildings, checking/feeding animals or bees, etc.

For years I have used old hiking boots with attached traction spikes to secure my footing in winter. I started out using cross country trail shoes with removable spikes, but they weren’t waterproof or insulated for long durations outdoors.

The hiking boots were waterproof, but the attachable spikes added a lot of weight and over hours outside, caused unnecessary fatigue. I saw ice bugs after falling on some ice using my hiking boots when out on a lake.

My spikes needed an upgrade, I felt. I got the icebugs and wore them the next morning. I’ve worn them every day since getting them over 2 weeks ago. They are warm. They are waterproof, the spikes have far superior traction on icy surfaces than my attachable spikes on my boots.

They are easy to slip on and off with a quick zip to secure. They are lightweight!!! I love these icebugs! They have made my life easier, better and my outdoor activities are now worry free, I feel secure in my footing again! Thank you!.

I live in WIsconsin and last year slipped on the ice and dislocated my shoulder. For this winter I was determined to find a better way to negotiate Ice and snow. I had tried strap on spikes but they are a pain to keep on and take off.

My research led me to discovering Icebug brand boots. The reviews seemed to be too good to be true. The boots were also pricey. I decided I’d order a pair of Metro2’s. The order process was smooth and the boots arrived on time.

I ordered my regular size and they fit perfectly. I have had several opportunities to use the boots this winter and I am impressed with the performance. The boots perform well outside and I am comfortable wearing them into a store.

Despite the spikes, the boots perform well on hard indoor surface including my garage floor. You won’t be able to sneak up on anybody as the are quite load on hard surfaces but the traction is good. I am told that the metal spikes last several years and that the company will replace them should it be needed.

These boots are great and I highly recommend them!.

I wore my new boots for the first time yesterday on hard snowy trails in the local park. Loved the traction and how my legs felt relaxed like I was walking on a summer trail! I had to walk to the park on clear sidewalks and was worried that the cleats would be slippery on a hard surface.

The boots did not slip at all! The cleats make a bit of sound on the pavement but it was easy to talk and hear in spite of the crunch. I’m trying to talk my husband to getting a pair! My left foot is a bit larger than my right one.

So I ordered the boots to fit the larger foot exactly. But the boots were too small so I ordered a one size larger pair. They fit perfectly with a wool sock. The delivery was amazingly fast. And it was easy to return the small pair.

They made it back to Sweden in less than a week! And the best of all, the manufacturing process is environmentally friendly! Considering everything this is a fabulous investment in great outdoor wear and in the environment!.

I bought these boots in black last year (early 2021). They had a white outsole and natural rubber-color tan tread, and came with purple laces. Very retro/cool look!! They also came in an awesome fuschia pink.

I loved the fuschia, but preferred that retro white/natural rubber look to the tread, so I got black. THIS year, I came back **hoping** the fuschia version had been re-released but with a white/natural tan bottom.

instead I see the whole shoe has been redesigned to look quite ugly. Disappointing as I know of at least 3 ladies who were interested in buying last years version, but not this one. This year’s is just.

ugly! Come on Merrell, if it ain’t broke, don’t “fix” it. I’d LOVE to buy another pair of last year’s design, with the white outsole/natural rubber bottom, in fuschia!!!.

I bought these at the beginning of winter to where at college. They have been great my feet are always warm and they don’t make my feet hot or sweaty when I’ve been in a heated building for a long period of time.

I recently came back from spending a week hiking in these boots. We walked 40 miles and my feet never got sore. Over all great boot.

This is a good light weight boot. Very warm. I am a little disappointed that these lace up. I was looking for a slip on boot that could keep me warm. The pictures are a bit misleading. Maybe i am just not famliar with shoes or this seller and that is why i was mislead.

I will be keeping the boots.

I’m usually a 37 but sized up to 38 to wear these to Lapland this Christmas. My initial thought trying them on at home was they were too small. The liner fills a lot of the internal space and I worried they wouldn’t fit with the thicker socks required.

They also rubbed just below my ankle bone on the side where the plastic meets the fabric. I couldn’t get anything else so decided to make do with them. So glad I did! -25 °C was the coldest we had, I put footwarmers in and wore liner socks and ski socks.

There was some heat loss through the sole but the foot warmers worked a treat and the boots were great. No rubbing (as feared) no squished toes, loads of grip (I didn’t slip at all) and generally warm feet Yes, you need warmers if it’s silly cold, but -10 to -15 they were fine as long as you kept moving.

Standing still = heat loss through the sole but otherwise really pleased with the purchase. I docked a star because doing the laces was a pain and I never did them up the full way as that didn’t cinch the heel in enough to stop heel lift Lacing partway did the job just about.

Finally, arctic snow is dry, I cannot comment on waterproofing.

Sturdy and waterproof but wide at anklesSo far these boots are very waterproof, and cosy due to the lining. My issue is the width of the ‘sock’ section above the rubber shoe bit. It is more than half the lendth of the boot and as your heel is not cupped at all by the rubber shoe section your foot moves up and down inside the boot continually with every step.

It is not because the boots are too big, I normally take a 6 or 6 & 1/2 but ordered a 7. They are very neat around toes and certainly wouldnt allow a second pair if socks. I realise boots are designated as for a ‘youth’ but as a 50+woman I’m surely more likely to have the thicker ankles!Not sure of the thinking behind this design flaw.

I’ve now cut off the hose sections of a pair of old socks and wear these rolled into second cuffs around my ankles inside boot so I get use out of them. It’s a Pity, I bought these as I’ve always loved any previous Trespass items.

Wrong Sizing: Delivered very quickly and presentation and feel of the boot was as expected and looked good. I ordered size 7/41. Even with a thick sock on, my foot just came out of the boot and however tight I tried, my foot was lifting in the boot – useless for walking in.

My son is a size 9 and even he found the boot loose. I have no idea why the boots are so big but based on this size, would need a size 5. Unfortunately the smallest was a seven! Returned the boot and waiting for my refund.

I purchased these shoes in November 2018. I live in Whistler, BC, Canada, home of the best ski/snowboard resort in North America. The shoes have great flexibility and the upper is soft and comfortable.

There is a great smooth entry into the boot and the inside of the shoe almost feels like a satin material. The shoelaces stay tied very tightly even though the shoelaces are round. This shoe feels very comfortable and it is very light! There are suede portions on the shoe toe box and around the shoe in certain parts.

I like suede. I wore these shoes for 2 days in mild, overcast weather and they are fantastic, comfortable and stylish. The tongue is gusseted and so no chance for water leaking in at the sides of the tongue.

I usually wear a size 10. 5 in other brands like NIKE, but I chose to go with size 10 as I tried them on in store and they are a great fit going down a half size. The cushioning is very soft and great bounce in the shoes.

I felt that I could even play basketball or go for a run in them. HOWEVER, on the third day of having these shoes, it snowed a few centimetres (1 inch) here in Whistler and after walking around for 60 minutes in those conditions in the village streets, I started to feel dampness in these shoes.

I didn’t believe it so I stopped at a shop indoors and took off the right shoe to discover that my sock was actually wet on the toe area. This is a disappointment. I am not sure how well the “waterproof” claim actually works.

After another 30-45 minutes of walking around, I started to feel dampness in the left shoe near the front. Perhaps, it was a leak in the seam area or manufacture defect, but I called customer service the next day to begin a claim to return the shoe.

I will purchase the Vanir Gallivant instead to see if those are better waterproofing.

I was looking for a lightweight shoe to fill the gap between sneakers and logging boots. These fit the bill, perfectly. They have an interesting shape to the sole on the heel, that feels odd at first, but actually reduces fatigue on long hikes.

They do have some waterproofing ability, and have not had a problem with wet socks while wearing them in heavy rain. The only weakness I can find are the laces. I usually swap out laces for Kevlar blends, anyway, so this isn’t a true negative.

Unless you are using these in briars and brush, the laces should hold up fine. The fit is quite comfortable, however if you work a work sock, I would recommend going up a half-size. Most off the rack shoes I wear are 10.

5, while all of my Helly Hansen footwear are 11s.

Tight fit for the first week. After that fit great. Not to hot if you wear them indoors. Kept my feet nice and warm at -12c in the snow. Also good traction on Icy conditions. Seem to be well made. Downside- once you lace them up it will take time to unlace and take off so plan to have them on for a while.

Would be nice to replace the top two eyelets with lace hooks. Remind me of my hi-tops I had in the 80’s. The soles seem soft. Only time will tell on how quick they wear down.

This is the 2nd pair of these boots I have purchased. The first was a pair that were barely used, that I sourced form eBay. I love them but the pale cream colour is not good for dog walking in muddy fields, hence the purchase this time.

I am knocked out by the speeed of delivery – next day! These boots are warm, comfortable, sturdy and excellent for walking in wet weather. I am just not sure how to clean the uppers as sadly no care instructions come with the boots.

My cream ones now need a good clean of the textile uppers, so I’m going to see if a local shoe shop can advise. I would recommend these for perfect fit, superb warmth, comfort and looks. Top product.

these boots are a great buy for the money. Lovely and light to wear as well as being cosy. There is plenty calf room. I had been worried they might be tight but i can fit my trousers inside them. perfect for walking through muddy woods with the dog.

Easy to clean.

Used in Arctic circle in December at -20 and offered good thermal and water protection in snow when used with appropriate thermal socks. Would recommend. Kids were out playing in deep snow and these boots did well against the elements.
