Best Wine For People Who Dont Like Wine (2023 Updated)

Smooth and peppery with a tannic finish. Not my cab of choice nor will it be my go-to, EOD drink to unwind. However, I happened to have leftover Jambalaya that paired really well with this, surprisingly.

Kinda like having a smooth whiskey to liven up the palate sum. Also, for the price point, I’ll stick to my cab of choice which is 2/3 the price of Unshackled. I’ll keep a bottle of this for variety, when having friends or family over.

I’m a big fan of Prisoner Red Blend and grabbed this based on the incredible reviews. I think this wine is terrible. I’d rather have a $9 bottle of 19 Crimes. There is no depth at all. This tastes like acidic water.

Really disappointed.

My favorite wine is The Prisoner Red Blend. Recently picked this up, always eager to try something from The Prisoner (Saldo Zin is also spot on). Great cab, easy to drink. Nice hints of blackberry. If you plan on sharing with more than 1 person, grab another bottle.

Wrong. This is a true story. My wife and I split a bottle of this red. I kid you not, we both had the same hangover the next day. A bad headache that lasted the whole day! This has happened twice to us!! I can’t call it a fluke.

We won’t be spending our money on this brand anymore. Too bad tho.

The wine was average, which is what I expected. However, it is advertised as a lower calorie wine. It’s only a few calories less than regular wine, and not worth the effort to find it and drink it in leu of other wine.

I’m looking for a wine that has significantly less calories.

I’m a true wine lover once belonging to 5 wine clubs at the same time, I drink A LOT OF WINE. So I feel ok with saying that FitVine gives me a headaches, and strong headaches at that. Fitness is important to me being a runner and former athlete, but try as I might, I can not drink FitVine.

Overall, a very smooth and drinkable wine. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The cherry and raspberry notes were quite evident as well as the subtle vanilla flavor which bridged them together in such a nice and seamless way.

I was relaxing and listening to some of my favorite music while savoring the likeable uniqueness of this wine. I started licking the inside of my cheeks and smiling in between sips while enjoying the total experience of drinking this wine Surely, this wine is worth visiting again, and no doubt, I will soon!.

Not your typical Pinot or red. It has a very smooth almost sweet taste. No idea if the carbs and if added sugar but Pinots are supposed to be low carb. My wife doesn’t like red wine but loved this one.

I usually o my drink reds and still loved, it’s just sweeter than a typical.

Nice Pinot for the price. An everyday table wine that has flavors of dark cherry, vanilla, and dark chocolate.

This’s an amazing chardonnay with bitterly taste in my tongue plus the out buzze of juicy white grapes. The tanning is bold & sharp. It’s good with some garlic fried sardines or Japanese sashimi. It’ll really gives u & your friends a very relax & enjoy evening.

This wine is excellent. Very buttery, a little expensive but in lock down this is a must have chardonnay. Hope you continue to stock this chardonnay as it is the only wine we truely enjoy.

Bogle’s other Chardonnay is my “every day” Chardonnay. It’s dependably rich, buttery, and oaky. When I saw that they also offer a premium Chardonnay, I was excited to try it. I was disappointed. For over twice the price of their other Chardonnay, I expected twice as much flavor and enjoyment.

I plan to do a blind tasting but based on my initial impression, do not expect to find much difference between the two.

Oftentimes Sauvignon Blanc is too lemongrassy for me, though I still like it. Joel Gott’s is delicious. Slightly earthy with no aftertaste. Definitely buying again. Deserves it’s 92 rating.

Fruit driven with subtle oak influences. It’s fresh, apple, vanilla and spice tones goes down smooth. Velvety finish. Pairs great with any chicken and seafood (especially Lobster) dishes.

This was on sale so I gave it a try. Pleasantly surprised by how crisp and tasty this California sauvignon blanc was. Wine spectator shows it’s the only wine in the Top 25 that’s under $15. Worth it.

I love this wine because it is a great cab with less sugar, no sulfates and I never get a wine headache from it. I like knowing it is organic and free of bad ingredients. It’s also a great price – I buy it by the case! I’ve tried others in this category but like it best.

The red blend is also good but I prefer the cab.

My nutritionist had me limit my Sulfite intake (less dried fruit and wine). This wine tastes very good and different. Different in a good way. The bottle says to enjoy within 24 hours, but a vacuum pump will easily extend the life for 48-72 hours, as I have.

I’ve also polished off 1 bottle in a night and suffered no hangover (as I normally would with any other wine). I’ve read that sulfites have no effect on a hangover, so I wonder what Our Daily Cab has/doesn’t have that results in no hangover.

Good stuff and I’ll buy again.

I am a daily drinker of cabs, typically spend $40-100 per bottle and have been pretty seriously enjoying wines for more than a decade. I’ve been to Mendoza, Napa, Tuscany, and Bordeaux many times. This is just to say I care about wine.

I think the organic label is a bit silly. True wine producers go far beyond organic to produce great grapes and follow very strict standards. Nonetheless whatever they are doing at Bonterra works. I would share this with anyone and think it’s a solid cab at any price but it’s really shocking to see it ~$10.

Just the production of Napa cab and bottling and distribution costs $10 so not sure where their profit comes from. I would describe it as dark cherry with a bit of apricot and soft tannins. It’s a big cab but no sharp edges and most of the flavor is late, which is very pleasant.

If you are new to wine buy a case of this and enjoy it for a few months and you will have a great start to your wine hobby. If you already enjoy cab make this part of your daily wine collection.

I’ve been trying organic wines (my wife and I like reds) and this is the best I’ve tasted so far. No unusual aromas or flavors. Nice tannic backbone, but not too drying. Layers of flavors going on: berries, cherries, etc.

A bit of oak. No cloying aftertastes (except a tiny bit of raisin that I’m not too keen on, but not at all pronounced–really the only negative I could find). Smooth from start to finish. Really would rate a $20-30 cab, but being organic puts it into five star territory for me (I rarely give top ratings).

Low price point is cherry on top. At under $15, a great value as an everyday wine. Organic has become important to me after reading the study about pesticides in French wine (American wine could be even worse but no study has been done).

Google it, if you want a wake-up call. Also, most winemakers have a total disregard of labeling additives in their product. They don’t have to do it, so they don’t. As a result, you don’t know what chemically engineered products have been added to most wines.

Most people don’t seem to care. Can’t be 100% certain about organics, but I trust them more.

If you like your wines fruity this may be for you. It smells fresh with good mouthfeel, and finishes smooth and spicy, but it doesn’t have the typical cab taste or aroma I’m used to. It’s a blend, predominately cabernet and about 20% merlot and syrah, and on the first day I noticed the latter two more, and on the second day, there was a citrusy taste to it.

I had the 2019 vintage and perhaps it was too young. Either way I won’t try it again.

If you like traditional California sauvignons, you’ll like this. It’s a bit tangy and tart. It’s nothing to impress anyone with nor offend them. I’ve never been a fan of California style sauvignons. They’re not smooth to me.

They have too much bite for me. But if you do like them, BAREFOOT will not disappoint at it’s price point. To me Barefoot products will always be ok for those used to traditional California wines. I buy this product a couple of times in the summer, I put it on ice and go do some yardwork:):):) any extra is great for cooking.

California Sauvigmon Blanc is just not my favorite. You can always trust Barefoot products will be decent, I really like their reds the best though.

This Barefoot Pinot Grigio is fantastic. It tastes very light and airy. I paired it with my chicken and pasta dish, and it was perfect. It complimented my food wonderfully and was delicious; I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and wine.

I am delighted that I paired this drink with my chicken and pasta feast. Apparently, this wine also goes well with seafood; however, I will never know for sure because I’m not fond of seafood. I recommend this Pinot Grigio to anyone who needs a good, light, and crisp wine on a budget.

This Barefoot brand is inexpensive, but please do not confuse it with cheap. The taste is fresh and clean. I recommend this Barefoot Pinot Grigio, and I will purchase it in the future. t Grrig.

Let’s be real about wine and pricing. If it tastes good to you, nothing else matters. Barefoot has been a bargain wine forever, and their Sauvignon Blanc is a light sipper when you want a casual drink and it’s not a special occasion.

The other great thing is Sauvignon is a low carb/sugar wine, so if you’re limiting these for your current lifestyle, Barefoot’s Sauvignon is a decent choice. Just beware that even dry alcohol still has calories!.

I bought this thinking it would be a good red blend, but it’s alcohol on the nose and palette and just doesn’t impact flavor, only heartburn. Try Hermes Nemea instead.

So tasty. Only reason I did not label 5 star is because two glasses gave a crazy headache next day which is reason I bought these. Not to get a headache. Otherwise wonderful wine.

I took a chance and bought this without trying it first, it was delicious. The blend is so smooth. My only complaint is that I can not purchase it locally.

Found this in a local liquor store and my husband is a cyclist, loves wine but the sugar can give headaches and wants to keep the sugar in check. Figured worth a try, heard of this type of “fit wine” and hadn’t seen it anywhere.

It was really good. No cheap after taste, nice and crisp, he liked it a lot and normally goes for a Malbec and we love cabs. Will buy this again.

One of the best Pinot Noir wines I have ever tasted. It costs double what I would usually spend on wine. But it’s worth it. Even though it’s lower on sugar and cals, it tastes the same, if not better, than other Pinot Noirs.

And it doesn’t give me the wine headache.

Wine selection was a little overpriced for my taste buds, I prefer at least medium-body to full body wine with more balance and long lasting flavor with nice finish. Was too light and dull for the price, good thing to think about is low calorie/sugar intake, maybe if you drink the whole bottle it gets better by the finale.

Always a favorite. Smooth and tasty. My wife, who struggles with reds especially that have a lot of tannins, is able to enjoy this. Not cheap, but certainly not nearly as expensive as seemingly comparable wines.

We stock up at home, as it’s become our go-to wine. We keep buying wines much more expensive to compare but always come back to this. There’s a reason it’s one of the most popular wines. Enjoy!.

I am pretty picky when it comes to my wine. I’m always excited and motivated to try new wine varieties, but when it comes to giving my opinion, I’ll always be quick to say if I don’t like it. This wine is excellent and especially at such an affordable price point.

It is smooth and not too dry. It has a nice combination of notes that compliment each other. I serve it often when having friends over and they always enjoy it. It is perfect to serve with seafood and chicken dinners too!.

i’m quite partial to a white wine some times. when having a glass it has to be sweet tasting and full of flavour. this is both. it is also a very affordable product making it a good purchase which i would recommend.

it comes also as a multipack of individual sized bottles for those who want them on the go or don’t want to open a full bottle. it’s light and fruity without being. acidic or hard to drink.

Because this is now my favorite Chardonnay, I bought a bottle of Cab to try. My husband took it from the wine cooler and poured a glass then was studying the label while I was making dinner. He asked me why I chose that particular wine and I told him it was because of my experience with the Dutton Ranch and Sonoma Coast Chardonnay with this label and was hopeful it would be just as good.

He poured me some and I have to say we could not stop talking about how much we liked it. It was not full of tannin, just smooth and flavorful. The following day we went back to the store and bought 12 bottles.

I hate to give it a good review because I don’t want it to sell out or double in price.

I bought this cab based on the description and wow, it’s fantastic! Not super pricey and yet tastes and feels like it’s a much more expensive wine. Full bodied and leaves you with great tannins. I have to drive an hour to get this wine and I highly recommend!.

I typically like wines from Alexander Valley and think they offer great value but I wasn’t overly impressed with The Calling Cab. It had some nice red fruits up front but was really lacking in depth and practically no finish.

Not one that I would personally bu again at this price point.

This bottle of Chardonnay was a gift from a friend who came to dinner. The bottle is pretty cool, as the name gives away they have an old-fashioned photograph of a prisoner on the label. The wine was chilled and ready to serve with our dinner, ( salmon and asparagus risotto).

It was a great choice, Napa Valley, Californian Chardonnay. It was Crisp, dry, with note of pineapple, vanilla, and apple. I really enjoyed it, and have purchased again since.

A really nice drink for a decent price. Not a super cheap bottle like I’m used to, but well worth the money! I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and my friends really enjoyed it for our get together.

Would recommend it to those who want a slightly nicer wine.

is there anything better than a good tasting merlot with a filet mignon? how about a great tasting merlot that doesn’t break the bank as well? this one is it. I like mine room temperature, however some enjoy this merlot chilled.

either way, snazzy up steak night with your better half and a bottle of good wine. pop in a tape of “breakfast at Tiffany’s” in the ol’vcr and have another bottle of wine for dessert😎☺.

I’m not a sommelier, but I do buy a few bottles of wine every week and keep “wine notes” of what I like and don’t like. Here’s what I can say about Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon: I’ve never had a “bad” bottle and for the price, it doesn’t get better.

I could spend over $40 on a really great bottle of wine (maybe, because you don’t know if you’ll like it until you buy it and taste it), but I can say that for under $5, it doesn’t get better than Barefoot.

Everyone’s taste is different, so here’s what I found: Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon is mellow, smooth, not too acidic (just a touch), and the finish doesn’t leave your mouth in a bad place (as many sub $10 wines do).

Here’s the great news: spend the $5 and see for yourself. If you hate it, you’re only out $5. If you’re like me, you’re going to drop about $15 for 3 bottles each week and be content with a consistent wine that goes great with a medium rare rib-eye over charcoal.

Try it; you won’t be disappointed.

It’s just. ok. i don’t know what I don’t like about it. Maybe it’s that you need half a glass before it settles into your pallet. I am sure with the right meal it would work better. Maybe a steak or something.

If it was on sale I would probably get it again. I don’t love it or hate it. It isn’t my first choice in reds, but better than most. My review is terrible, I’m sorry.

This wine is one of my favorites for parties. Not one I particularly care to drink as a top choice a bit drier fornmy taste but over all my guests seem to enjoy the taste of the bottle. No matter as long as they enjoy it then we are good to keep purchasing.

This wine is great. Tastes great and not too expensive. Great packaging! It is so cute. I like that they include a picture of a grape on the label so we remember where it comes from. Great for parties, and I would recommend to others at the drop of a hat.

Better then yellowtail.. (For the money)… No oak finish like Mark West, my fav?.. But 5 bucks ? Rate at 83 Oh buy the way. Blueberry hints in this wine

I need to preface this with the caveat that I’m a fan of dark and intense wines. I was expecting a low to mid range quality wine, but I didn’t even get that. I hope what I got was a bad bottle that was somehow cooked in delivery or something.

The jammy quality that others described in their reviews is not at all what I experienced. It was very tannic, as is to be expected. It sucks the moisture right out of your mouth, which would indicate that this really should only be drank with food.

This wine NEEDS umami to balance it out for sure. Again, I like a dry cab and am capable of enjoying it without food and appreciating it still. But this wasn’t possible here. The wine was extremely bitter and almost balsamic vinegar in color, texture, and aftertaste.

I enjoyed the plum color left behind as I chucked my full glass into the sink. I noted that would be an indication of quality. if this were quality. I’m leaving the remainder of the bottle to breathe overnight, and I’ll give it another swig.

If it softens a bit, great. If not, I’ve got some great base for pasta sauce. Or toilet bowl cleaner. Jury is out.

No vinegar aftertaste. Had it with Prime rib and it was very complimentary. I thought it was very silky and had beautiful blackberry undertones. I also made an audience jus sauce with it that was very good on the prime rib.

I’ll definitely be saving this bottle so I can have it again.

unique cab. very smooth with the dark color you expect from a cab. plum and vanilla on the nose. maple and vanilla is evident upon sipping, can maybe even be considered “sugary. ” not sure if this is meant for wine newbies, but for $10, it seems like a very good wine at a great price!.

This is a first for me. I’ve never had a chilled red wine burn on the way down before. It’s so strange, it smells and tastes like someone mixed a cheap liquor into the wine barrel. I can taste that it’s fruit forward, slightly sweet, and not dry.

I just can’t get past 3 sips without drunken night flashbacks. You know, those memories that make you gag.

This wine is amazing, and zero sulfites!! I’ve been drinking wine for decades and love French Bordeaux wines. I stopped drinking them for no other reason than the heavy pesticide use. I expect better from French wine makers.

Our daily red has many distinguished notes expected from blended reds. It’s a bit up front on the finish, but it has wonderful style and I love the black fruit flavor. It’s a great light style red.

all the snobs out there who pay $8 for a very drinkable wine and then critique it like your in Bourdeax at a wine tasting, give me a break. a very decent wine for the money. no sulfites and organic. nothing fancy but a great drinkable wine at a very reasonable price.

Barefoot pinot noir is my go-to red wine because I do like big sips! Lower tannins, won’t leave my mouth dry or chalky. It’s perfect as a treat after dinner or even during. Even goes great with a dessert.

I feel like this wine is great for those that shy away from reds. So, if you’re having a get together or want to give red wine a go, choose this!.

This wine give me heartburn/makes me gag it’s nothing like it describes on the bottle. Do not buy this wine unless you’re looking for a headache. Maybe I’m biased because my family owns a winery and our Pinot Noir so much better but this wine is absolutely disgusting and tastes like vinegar.

Would not recommend!!! It has no legs and does not taste like cherry at all.

For the price, it’s a decent Pinot Noir; are there better? definitely. One of our week night wines, we always have bottles on hand. Weekends, that’s a different topic altogether.
