19 Best Window Screen Repair Kit (2023 Updated)

I just used this the 5th. The folds in the screening straightened out very easily. I didn’t have to use any heat. I just unfolded the screening, cut it about 2 inches longer and 2 inches wider than the frame.

Laying the frame on the table top I spread the screen over, and used very little tension to straightened it, pulling out the fold creases first. Then I seated the screen into the frame, then gently laid the provided new spline in, and pressed it into the groove with the nylon rolling tool provided.

It was that simple. After doing all four sides, and going back over the spline to be sure it was seat well all the way around. I cut the extra screen of with a utility knife, and it’s perfect, perfect fit, looks new can’t ask for more.

Well could ask for someone to put it in for me, but the labor costs alone would be above my pay-grade. No reason to hesitate now, it’s simple and so inexpensive. Plus I have enough left to door several screens the size of the storm door, or 7 the size of our storm windows.

I am glad I bought this! One problem, now I’m mad at the window company that did my last screen repair, for charging me so much! I could have bought 6 of these kits for what they charged. At that rate I could buy 6 resell five, at a 30% mark-up and profit $15 while am at it, not counting my ebay bucks rewards! Maybe next time I will, but it will be a long time.

I have enough screen to last me 12 years at least, barring any catastrophic events.

I just replaced it right now. It took me about 20 mins to do. It was easy and I don’t have to worry about my pets anymore. It’s sturdy and the kit came with everything I needed to replace my torn screen.

I’m Buying a second one for a relative. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I had a small hole in my patio door screen right at the handle area. The repair kit was very easy to use. I cut a small piece of the patch, removed the backing and stuck it on the screen. Heated it with a hair dryer and the repair was complete.

You can see the patch, but it doesn’t stand out. Much easier and cheaper than replacing the whole thing.

This product freshly opening didn’t even have a sticky side. I attempted to guess what would be the sticky side. Used the hair dryer it stuck on 1 little corner and the rest fell off. Completely waste of money.

Great concept but did not follow thru.

My kitten sliced a screen on one of my windows and this stuff works! It’s so easy to use,just measure the size you need (eye it up) cut it,apply the coated side to the screen and heat up with a hair dryer and you’re done! I’ve only seen this product in the colors silver and charcoal.

This screen repair tape is fantastic. I repaired several screens with it. That night we had a torrential downpour and every patch held. Now weeks later all still holding perfectly. This is one product that truly does just what it says it will.

This is some good stuff but only for small holes. This is very very sticky. I do wish the roll contained more because I ran out very quickly.

Easy to install! I do not write reviews until I actually use the product. I hate seeing a review that describes what something looks like but no real information. Anyway, I finally got a weekend to play with the screen kit.

This was surprisingly one of the easiest DIY projects I have completed. The material is a good sturdy weight. Kind of reminded me of bird netting but much heavier. Just a couple of steps: -Remove the old screen -Cut out the material you need just a couple inches over the edge.

-Take the rubber spline material, push the spline into place with the screen tool -Trim excess with a utility knife You’re done! Highly recommend.

What an easy kit to repair my storm door screen that the cat damaged. I was wary about doing the job, but I can’t believe how easy it was. Turned out just like a professional. The screen is great and the spline fit perfectly around the screen with that magic little screen wheel.

Recommend this for anyone as an easy DIY job. My neighbor was really surprised and told me she had to pay $30 at a local hardware to get her storm door screen replaced. There is plenty in the package for other screen jobs too.

Worked great! Tips. (Gently), clean the screen repair area well on both sides. Brush clean first ( I used an old toothbrush. ) Then, wash with a mild solution of grease cutting liquid soap & water. Let dry adequately.

After pressure application, heat the patch with a blow-dryer for a few seconds. This process worked perfect for me!.

This is a very good product. The adhesive is strong as well as the screen mesh. Very easy to use and cut into small pieces. The only thing I wasn’t really happy with is that it’s darker and slightly thicker than my screen so it’s not an invisible patch as I had hoped.

Overall, it works in a pinch and it’s a truly fantastic product!.

This patch was a pretty good match for my ripped screen. What I learned is that it looks best when you spend the time to line up the patch perfectly with the rest of the screen. Otherwise, it is quite noticeable and looks bad.

Does not match screen, the whole thing is adhesive so you cannot see through it. These are no different than looking through duct tape. If you value looking through your screen these are not for you.

Straight to trash can.

Got a quote from a ‘pro’ with a weeks wait to get it done. This $20 package has everything needed. Most difficult part was getting the screen off the tracks as the 4 rollers are spring-loaded so some fiddling was required to get the screen off(some super dexterous guy might attempt doing the replacement with the screen still on the tracks).

One thing to note when using the spline roller tool is that the wheels are different width to accomodate different size splines, so use the correct one and the whole job is done within an hour and half- cleanup time included( I took a little longer as I took the opportunity with the screen off the tracks to do some routine maintenance and the reinstallation onto the tracks was a little fiddly for my 73 yr old fingers).

The package identify the spline to be 0. 14 inch but appears to be much bigger of 0. 20 inch. I installed it on a screen door with. 125 inch groove but extremely difficult to push in resulting in the tool slipping off deforming the screen and ripping the screen along the edge.

I bought another brand and its spline looks closer to 0. 14 inch and the installation went smoothly. The screen was also thicker so less risk of ripping and more durable.

I bought this to re-screen a patio door for my daughter. She thought she would have to buy a whole new door! With the video instructions, and making some adjustments for what seemed to work better for me, it turned out beautifully.

Like another reviewing, slow and steady is the way to go. I set the spline slowly the first go around with the concave wheel on the tool, and then rolled again with the convex side, being sure it was forced in the groove.

I was worried about a slack screen and wavy installation but it’s almost self-tightening with the spline. Very satisfying project, and a great price!.

Replacing a broken window with new screening was my most recent undertaking and using ADFORS Extra Strength screen and the tool that came with it made it much easier than I thought. This screen is the company’s strongest fiberglass screen, said to have a longer lifespan than a standard screen.

Saint-Gobain claims that it is 50% stronger than standard screening after 1,000 hours of weather exposure and that it’s perfect for high-usage areas that need extra protection. I have two very active dogs that love poking their noses into the screen to see what’s going on outside, so I was glad to see that.

The screen came in a 36-inch X 84-inch roll and is black in color. It’s easy to cut to fit your frame, and a screen tool, complete instructions, and spline is included. The only other thing required is a utility knife.

The manufacturer states that the screening does not contain any ortho-phthalates, which I actually had to look up. These are chemicals used in plastic products to make the material soft and less brittle, and scientific evidence has linked these chemicals to many reproductive, developmental and endocrine-related health problems, especially in young children and pregnant women.

So this is good to know!.

Screen replacement does not have to be expensive, the kit from ADFORS is truly a complete kit for a 36 X 84 inch area screen or something smaller. There is a great video on line from the company that explains everything very well.

They tell you to throw away the old spline. Can’t say that I agree with that idea until the job is 100% complete. Some spline groves are wider than others, it is always a good idea to keep the old one around.

The quality of the screen is above industry standard. The spline tool is like the one that you find at your area hardware store. There is an ample amount of spline supplied also. If you follow the instructions on the instruction sheet and watch the small vides you will have a screen repaired in no time, and at the fraction of the cost of a screen shop.

Just one more tip. Do not stretch the screen too tight, you can easily bow an aluminum frame.

This kid includes everything I need to replace the screen on my door including the mesh, window screen spline, and a spline replacement tool. we had a dog burst through the screen and it was very difficult to put everything back into place.

The tool makes it very easy to push everything into the little slot where is a screwdriver was difficult to use. The spline tool rolls so it’s easy to just roll the screen into place. The fiberglass screen is sturdy.

I don’t have to worry about bugs flying in where the dog busted the screen out.

A little hard to use because of the plastic film protecting the adhesive, but bonded very well. I would buy again if more repairs are neeed.

I was orinlginally unsure of how this screen tape would work but have used some last week on my home. The stuff is still bonded and keeping bugs out of my home.

This spline was exactly what I needed to replace the screens in our windows. The windows originally had some type of metal bar holding the screen in place. This was damaged while trying to remove it.

This size spline was not available in any store, so I was searching on line and came across this. After reading other reviews, it seemed like the perfect size, and it was. Be prepared for the size of the spool (it is about the size of a small car tire), which makes it a little difficult to work with.

WOW! This stuff is awesome! I needed to re-screen my old Anderson window screens (approx. from 1980). This stuff was perfect! Rolled in nice and tight. We did it on a very cold day, and it was a little tough until we rubbed it, to warm it slightly.

Then it rolled in with ease. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something to use on an old Anderson window. The roll was more spline than I expected, and will probably be enough to do the whole house, but nothing wrong with that.

This is a great product. Worked on my anderson screens which anderson says you have to replace the whole screen assy. More flexible & forgiving than the rubber/plastic spline. Hope it holds up under extreme weather.

This screening is excellent for use as screening on a proch. Live is Southern FL and we need to have good quality screening to keep the bugs and critters out. Consistend quality from the start to the end of the roll.

Much more durable than fiberglass style screening.

Some of this screen had imperfections in the fabric which are not overly noticeable on the screen. It took me about 1 hour to do one screen. I had to re-do the screen due to user error. Not sure if this came with instructions, but I should have read them.

I pulled too tightly and changed the size of the screen. Overall good produce for the cost. Overall good product for price.

Great little kit. I measured my windows before ordering so I estimated how much I could get done. Good quality screen, the little spline tool is slightly flimsy but gets the job done! Worst case, you could buy a nicer spline tool if you were going to do a lot of new screens, but the included one works just fine.

This product did the job. There was enough material to do at least 2 tall screens. I first had some reservations with the spline since there was no info on its thickness but it fit the groove in the screen door.

Time will tell how durable the fiberglass mesh will last. The spline tool looked a bit cheap but it also did its job. Pickup at the local Home Depot took longer than I expected since the associate took a while to locate the product.

The screens seem very durable. Easy to install. Easy to remove. Some of the frames had a little curvature to them, especially along the top. This was concerning, but not very noticeable once installed.

Not perfect rectangles, for sure. NOTE: to remove, you simply push your hand into the center of the screen, and the frame bows in, allowing you to grab it and take it out. One downside to this – if a strong wind is blowing through the screen, it will create the same effect and pull the frame in.

It won’t remove the frame, but it doesn’t look very comforting.

Bumper things help it stay in but still not sure i like them. They look nice but can still be knocked out by my animals. My video was not inappropriate by any means. It was showing how easy the screen can be pushed out! Now i am angry.

I love the ease of installing the screen. I had an issue with one screen, & was issued a replacement with no hassle! I especially am grateful to have found a company with integrity, that stands by their product, & honors their commitment!.

Not hard to do. Was kinda fun, but the screen tore in one place while putting in the rubber trim. Not enough screen to fix tears, so it stay. Makes a wave in the screen which can be seen, of course. A bit irritating for perfectionists.

Otherwise instructions and supplies pretty good. Screen a bit dark.

I needed to replace the screen on my Andersen screen slider door, looked here and found they had a kit available with everything needed to replace the screen. I thought the price was a bit high but after receiving the kit it had everything I needed to do the job, including a piece of thin wood to prevent frame from collapsing while installing screen in frame.

Although we have not re-screened this door yet, waiting for nice weather , it is a great kit. It has everything one would need to re-screen a patio door.

This is a wonderful screen. easy to install and remove. Flex Screens improve the look of my windows from the outside and helps keep them clean. Flex view screens allow me to enjoy fresh air on cool days and keeps the bugs outside.

I have regular, solar, clear view, and clean clear view screens. My favorite would be the clean clear view screens. I recently placed my third order for Flex Screens. There are ten more windows in my home that need screens; therefore, at some point I will be ordering more screens.

I did all my measurements using the Flex Screen guidelines; however, with the most recent order I did get the measuring tool. The majority of the windows in my home are the same size; therefore, my first order was for two screens just to make sure the measurements were correct.

Once I knew those screens fit, I did not hesitate to order more screens. Flex Screen customer service has been great and with my most recent order, the fulfillment time was much faster.

Incredibly fast service. We had hail damage to our screens and had been quoted over $2800 to repair the damaged screens. Fortunately I came across your product and will be able to completely replace all of our screens for less than $1500 and and not have to wait 4 months to get someone out to repair them.
