Best Wildflower Hikes Columbia Gorge (2025 Updated)

Finally a shoe that fits. I’ve tried 4-5 brands of hiker’s for daughter so nice she was about 12 and she always complained the didn’t feet right. Now 19, she is moving to AK, so having quality is a priority.

We went to sporting store, again, and tried on 7-8 pairs and a Columbia pair fit, but what was in stock was more a hunting boot. but we had a size and, being older, she realized that it was the arch that did not fit in keen, vasques, rocky or the Walmart hikers.

We ordered these and after keeping them on 10 minutes, she asked if she could wear them all the time. THAT is the statement that says it all. Her everyday foot wear has be converse all these years, and didn’t enjoy hiking or hunting near as much in other hikers because her feet hurt, and she always opted to wear her converse, which have limitations when hiking on uneven rocky terrain.

I can’t tell you how happy we are that after 7 years, we finally found a hiker that fits comfortably and has all day comfort. I did add silicone repellant to the fabric weave area and seal oil to the boot leather, as stated these are going to be daily wear in AK.

And because they are on sale, I’m ordering a second pair for a Christmas present.

I love these boots. I find they fit and feel like good quality tennis shoes. I have 3 pairs because they fit well and are comfortable and wear much better than tennis shoes. I should mention though as someone else pointed out, if you do not use the top lace guides push them closed with pliers!! This is very important!! I also was tripped by the loop of the lace on the right foot catching in the eye on the inside of the left boot.

(I do not use the top lace guides) I slip my feet into my boots without lacing each time so I have them loose at the ankle. I do not need the ankle support, but I like that they are tall for keeping water out of the boot and ankle protection.

I waterproof them with silicone to protect them and they have always kept my feet dry in wet environments. I have a pair of 7. 5 to wear with light weight socks in the summer. That is what size I wear in tennis shoes.

I also have a pair of 8. 5 to wear with medium socks. I recently bought a pair of 9’s to wear with really heavy socks. I do replace the stock insoles with more padded ones and they fit fine. I have somewhat wide feet and often purchase wide shoes, but the regular width on these fits me fine.

Live in Oregon, needed a decent waterproof winter boot, for everyday running around town or play, preferably warm enough to handle a few snow days. The snow seems to be done this winter so I haven’t checked them out in that element but these definitely work in rain, waterproof and grip well.

I wish these were a bit warmer which is why I didn’t give 5 stars, that and the part above the ankle is a bit stiff. But, these do feel like a tennis shoe, light, comfortable enough for long day wear despite my arthritic toes and these look really cool – even in this teal surprisingly.

I got that color because it was on clearance and thought they’d be loud but no! It’s darker than the picture. I wear a size 9 and after reading reviews, bought size 9 Wide. Fits fine with room for a thicker sock.

For the price, I think you really get a great bang for your buck.

My goddaughter in New York recommended these boots after reading very good reviews about them knowing I was struggling to choose new ones. The actual boot is very comfortable and fits well. I was told by a podiatrist to always buy a size larger in a trainer and walking boot so I purchased a 5 although my normal shoe size is 4.

On my second wearing I got a blister on my ankle above my heal, I have very sensitive feet so wasn’t surprised, the ankle cuffs are a little hard. I did however read a review that advised wearers to watch a YouTube video on how to tie laces properly on walking boots.

I found a Trekkit video and was amazed at how differently they advise how to tie laces than I tie mine. I’m waiting for my blister to heal before trying this technique but I’m confident that it will make a big difference.

Overall I think the boots are comfortable, subject to more breaking in, they look good and seem to be waterproof as I walked in puddles without a problem. 10 out of 10 after a few more wears I’m confident.

Very nice good material and comfortable shoe. It’s light weight as well. The shoe looks exactly like the photo. I like that it’s light weight and have solid rubber in the bottom of the shoe. Perfect for hiking.

Highly recommend. I got it in brown and elk size 7 (I usually wear size 7) it looks a bit narrow but works for me when i have to wear a thick socks.

First off im NOT a hiker. Im a fat guy from missouri who decided to go hiking in the Rockies. After looking at Merrels and Salamon boots in the $175-230 price range i wasnt happy with the fit and feel.

The gentleman at the store suggested these and they were Very comfortable. I bought them on a thursday, and wore them on an 11 mile hike up 2,000 feet that saturday, and my feet never hurt once! No break in, and no blisters! They are absolutely not a replacement for snow cleats, but in mud and over rocks they performed exceptionally! They felt pretty warm at first but still breath well.

And my feet stayed completely dry after walking through creeks and up a waterfall. I highly recommend these boots! Looking at how theyre made i dont expect them to last alot more than a regular shoe would, but for the price ill gladly buy another if these wear out.

Unlike the $200 boots iv read many reviews about not lasting~.

As an avid runner and occasional hiker, I have never had a need for hiking boots. I’ve always made do with duck boots or chacos. (Love my chacos, they cannot be beat. Please try to challenge me on this.

) However, with a July trip to Zion national park looming, it sounded like I was going to need some hiking boots. Off to try on boots I went. I am a hard size to find in women’s boots so I figured I would be stuck in the mens.

So that’s what I tried on. Not to trash talk the mens boots selection but they were pretty clunky for my feet. Leaving the outdoor store with no boots, online shopping was my next stop. My best friend and her mom are the diehard hikers in my life so I drifted to where they had found their favorites.

Columbia. Why not try and see if they might possibly have a size for me. AND THEY DO! Size 12, not too clunky and VERY comfortable hiking boots. I was very surprised to also find that they are not too hot in texas humidity and heat.

Thank you Columbia for having a womens hiking boot for me. I’ll have to report back on how they do at Zion. 🙂 happy outdoorsing!.

I have worn Columbia shoes (hiking boots, hiking shoes, sport shoes) for years. I usually pay more per pair than I did for these Crestwood shoes, but I wanted to try their “wide width. ” In addition, my older Columbia shoes were beginning to wear out (after a lot of use), so I needed to purchase new shoes.

In the past, I have not had an issue with regular width Columbia shoes, but I recently bought thicker socks and thought the “wide width” would accommodate the socks better. I could use the new, thicker socks with my older shoes (regular width) even though my feet were slightly snug (but still comfortable).

I bought this pair, and their width was less roomy than both of my regular width Columbia shoes from two years ago. In fact, the new Crestwood pair had a much smaller/narrower toe box than any Columbia shoe I had ever owned.

Even with thinner socks, my feet felt cramped in both the width and toe box areas. I checked the interior labels to make sure the shoes were wide width, and the labels stated that they were. I also noticed that the shoe tongues were not attached on their sides like they had been on all of the previous Columbia shoe models I had purchased.

This just made it more of a pain to put on the shoes, but that wasn’t a deal breaker. I was very disappointed in the fit, but I thought I would purchase the same pair again just in case I received a defective pair.

The second pair’s width had more room than the first pair, but they were basically the same width as my old regular width Columbia shoes. The toe box on this one was tolerable, but not nearly as roomy as my previous regular width Columbia shoes.

I returned the first pair and kept the second only because I needed a pair of shoes. I like the look of them, but the fit isn’t my favorite. These shoes are definitely NOT “wide width. ” Perhaps next time, I will go back to the more expensive Columbia shoes, because these do not have the same quality as my previous pairs.

I just hope that the narrower width and cramped toe box aren’t the trend for Columbia shoes now, especially because I will need to find another shoe manufacturer if this is the case. Bottom line, I would not recommend this particular pair of shoes.

I got these a few days before my Switzerland trip which was the end of September to early October. The forecast for the week was rain and cool (low 50s) every day. There were days when it was raining ALL day and my feet were dry and warm! I didn’t have to break them in that much.

Before my trip, I wore them around my apartment for a couple of days. During the trip, they were NO issues and were very comfortable walking 8-10 hours per day. I really like the color and accent purple laces.

It was a nice contract against my grey/black clothes. I’m normally a 8. 5 in boots and got a 8. 5. I wore normal layered socks, not thick. Thick socks would make my feet sweat. The sale of this boot made me love this boot even more! I highly recommend getting it.

I bought these shoes because the description said ” wide fit”. I’m a 6. 5 wide (D to E) and wear orthotics. These were only available in size 7 and 8 so I figured no problem with a 7 wide fit. Theyd be a bit long but I’m used to that.

Well whomever wrote the description has a corrupt view of wide or has a super narrow ( AA) foot themselves. The length is a 7 but in no way imaginable are they wide fit. Even without orthotics they are snug, and too tight across the ball of the foot with sport sox and the orthotics in.

They are a pretty standard north american shoe width I’d say, probably B. I wore them a few hours in the house and they loosened up a bit. My feet didn’t fall asleep though it was close at times. I also changed to thinner socks than i usually wear with sneakers.

I will manage and they will stretch. The Colombia boots I bought last year were 6. 5 wide and are a perfect fit. Best fitting pair of boots I’ve had in years. I had hoped for the same with these sneakers.

The positive is that they appear well constructed and are very lightweight. The shoelaces prefer the undone position. I keep doing them up but they refuse to stay that way.

I bought these shoes on Zappos last year for work at an outdoor beer garden. They are absolutely amazing. I have a lot of lower back and hip issues, so good shoes are absolutely necessary. There are days when I clock over five miles just running around during service.

They lasted the entire season, about 8 months of daily wear, and are still holding up. They fit like a dream and didn’t need to be broken in at all. I love them so much I just bought another pair as backup.

And after loaning them to my assistant manager when she forgot her work shoes the other day, she is buying a pair as well. They really are that great.

These shoes fit great. My toes have room. I have a big foot. I wear and 8. 5 and I am 5 1″. These shoes feel good on my heal. They dont slip up and down. Great arch support. I bought them at Fred Meyer.

So happy I did. Those ugly pink shoelaces I replaced with grey. Im already thinking about buying another pair. I stand on concrete all day. I have a bone spur on my right toe. These shoes are so comfortable.

Better than Hoka One Ones! The grip is amazing.

Hey, I do like these. The strange looking tread is much gripper than I first expected. VERY comfortable, actually quite sure footed for this amount of cushion. I am usually a 13, but in Columbia I really like the 14, it’s roomier, but in no way loose.

I can wear outdoor wool socks with these, which is a plus. I’m wearing the normal width in this scenario. Excellent arch support. I’d call it mid+. The Candy Colored Clown look doesn’t bother me at all since my feet feel great.

I ordered this trail shoe based on known Columbia quality and customer service. There were NO reviews to go by. I have very special needs when buying shoes. I am 69. 5 years old, and sustained a trimaleolar fracture of my right ankle 2 years ago.

I have ongoing pain in ankle, and am fearful of reinjury. I have lingering swelling, and it is painful to touch over hardware plate and screws. I also have grade IV arthritis at base of right big toe, which is quite painful; and requiring surgery to fuse.

I also have a 95 pound energetic 4 year old Goldendoodle whom I need to feel sure footed walking with! Shoe very comfortable and allows me to walk safely over crushed granite/rock/uneven surfaces without slipping.

Provides wonderful cushioning so I don’t feel the rocks. Feet not ‘tired’ after walking up to 2 hours so far! Worth every dollar! Thank-you, Columbia.

Love these shoes however the right shoe is a little tight around the ball of my foot. Placing a shoe tree inside has helped in stretching it out a bit. Extremely comfortable with a lot of cushioning which is important to this 70 year old man.

I like the height as it’s higher than low cut shoes but not as high as a typical hiking boot. Love the way the sole is bonded to the uppers, should keep water out effectively.
