20 Best Wifi Motherboard For Ryzen 5 3600 (2023 Updated)

I’ve had nothing but issues with this board since I got it. Ironically, the bad Intel NIC everyone seems to have an issue with has been the most reliable thing on this board for me. The issues first came up a day after I installed the new MB in my system, when I was playing a game and my PC just shut off, without warning.

After 3 seconds it rebooted itself into Windows like nothing had happened. I thought that was odd and proceeded to try to game again, and it happened again. First thing I did was re-seat all my components.

I then ran a CPU stress test as well as MemTest86, and everything came out great. I then tried to game again and again, the PC simply shut off and rebooted after about 5 minutes of gameplay. Next thing I did was use a different PSU, thinking perhaps it was a power issue.

Installed the new PSU and again, the PC would shut off. After a few days, a new BIOS version came out and I immediately updated to it thinking that it may fix these instability issues I was having. but it unfortunately did not.

Now, after that update, I am having issues where the PC will shut itself off multiple times when started from a complete off. Watching the PC, it will start up and all the fans will be full blast, then it will run for 10 seconds and shut off, then after a few seconds it will restart.

After doing this cycle, the LED for the RAM will light up indicating an issue with the RAM. The only way to break that loop that has worked for me is to completely unplug the system, turn off the PSU, hold the power button to clear any residual electricity and then plug the PSU back in.

After I do that, the PC will start normally. My only conclusion is that the motherboard is faulty, as every component I have has been checked as well as ran in another system. The CPU works great, the PSU is brand new (tried 3 PSU’s in total) the RAM cleared MemTest86 as well as is on the QVL for the board AND worked great on an old Gigabyte board I use to test components, the SSD is fairly new and in good shape according to the Sandisk SSD health check and my GPU works flawlessly without issue.

That leaves the motherboard as the only piece that I can possibly think of that is having an issue, as I have checked all other components pretty thoroughly. the sad thing is, once it does start the PC will work fine while doing any task besides gaming, the whole reason I built it.

I can run stress test after stress test, brose the internet, watch movies, open 20 Chrome tabs, and not have an issue but once a gaming load happens the PC just says “nah, I’m out” and shuts off. Incredibly frustrating as my other Gigabyte B550 board has worked without issue for over a year now, absolutely flawless and now this, more expensive board, completely baffles me In fact, the only reason I got this board was because it’s one of the very rare white themed board, the other being the Gigabyte Vision D which is wayyy more expensive.

Starting to think I should have saved for it.

I’ve been running this motherboard for several weeks with a Ryzen 9 5900x, 64GB Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black (3600), NVIDIA RTX 2070 and 2TB Seagate Firecuda 530 NVMe Gen 4. 0 SSD. System it totally stable at stock speeds and RAM in XMP profile at 3,600Mhz; it sailed through a single pass in Memtest86 but mainly has run some very demanding games for many hours with no crashes, which were prone to fail on my previous system with even very small instabilities at higher speeds.

Wi-Fi is connected but I have not used it yet as my system is connected via Ethernet cable. I do not use onboard audio chips as I have a dedicated sound card, which usually always provides far superior sound quality, noticeable by almost anyone, even without a trained ear.

I have no experience using sleep mode on this board, as I stopped using this on my old system after finding Gigabyte boards were prone to crashing when combining XMP RAM profiles with sleep mode, regardless of voltage settings and having all the latest BIOS updates.

Not a fan of the UEFI BIOS layout: seems like far less options for timings compared with my previous motherboard, and it seems like a pain to navigate the menus already; hardly the end of the world though and it may be improved once I install the latest BIOS updates, as it is still on the factory firmware.

Have been very happy with the board so far, as it offered the specs I wanted while keeping down unecessary extra costs for features like SLI or 5Gb/s Ethernet, which I would not see any benefit from.

Main reason for my upgrade was actually just to get NVMe Gen 4. 0, which I have seen significant speed benefits from.

It’s clear the board has all the bells and whistles a person would want or need but I was really impressed by the power phase design. Independent, powerful phases on a platform using high end components is something to appreciate.

But what does it mean? Exactly what I was hoping for. I am coming from the Asus X570 Dark Hero platform which I have been tuning on for quite some time. It’s held up faithfully during that time and has been a great board.

I was on the fence with testing either this board or the Asus Extreme X570S E-atx board and decided to choose this one first to give a try because of its lower cost. In both power and efficiency this design is nicely improved over my Dark Hero and while I would have liked to play with the Asus Extreme, I can confidently say that this is great performance for the cost.

Delivering clean power is the name of the game for these high-end motherboards with overclocking, and this is no slouch. I have been able to achieve greater ram stability with lower ram timing, lower SOC and lower Vdimm Voltages.

The lower temperatures came with that, and I certainly have no complaints. On top of this I have been able to achieve greater CPU stability including maintaining my manual overclock settings at lower voltages than the Dark Hero and, in turn, lower temperatures by a good margin.

My Benchmarking scores are all improved (both GPU and CPU) and more consistent. In-game frames have improved aswell in their consistency. I’m still fine tuning the system to see how efficient this platform can be and after about a week of tuning I have to say I’m impressed at how much overhead was made available.

I love MSI’s load-line calibration options and coupled with extended switching frequency option, the fine-tuning capability is really impressive! Great to see a quality build and quality components. Just handling the board screams high-end with the sheer weight of it.

I was impressed by how well-built the dark hero was compared to other offerings in the past, but this new Ace Max is something else. I currently hold a hardware record on Timespy with my set-up using only AIO’s (take that custom loops and ln2!) But it won’t take long to finalize tuning on this platform and I expect to push it even higher.

But it’s clear to me that any enthusiast can take advantage of the inherent efficient design of this board since Ryzen’s stock configuration holds core boost relative to temperature and stability. And a nice bonus is it looks good.

The MSI Dragon symbol is slick and looks good with quality and detail. I was thinking it might not look as good as the Dark Hero or the Asus Extreme E-atx board, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you’re on the fence with this board, take the plunge.

I think it’s worth it.

I’ve had a few different makes of motherboards over the last 9 years, ASRock, Gigabyte and Asus. Initially they set up was Intel based until I switched over to AMD with a Gigabyte Aorus Z570 Master. This was fine for approx.

18 months until one morning itg failed to boot up. Try as I might , check connects, remove and re-seat components, nothing. It was retuned under warranty and repaired. This got me thinking, did I want this motherboard now or should I build a new rig.

I decided on a new build. I wanted a motherboard that was an AM4, had support for more than 3 PCIe 4 x 4 M. 2 sockets , had plenty of fan headers, preferably 4 pin PWM. I also required Turbo USB 3. 2 Gen 2 , USB 3.

2 Gen 1. Preferably an integrated I/O back cover and definitely no small cooling fan on the actual motherboard in the lower right-hand corner. Some might say this would be a bit of a tall order. I did my research on the internet and came up with a couple of possibilities.

The Aorus X570S Master and the MSI MEG X570S ACE MAX. I had my doubts about going for an Aorus Master again the MSI MEG X570S ACE MAX offered everything that the Aorus X570S Master did, and then some.

e. g The M. 2 add-in PCIe 4 card namely the M. 2 Xpander-Z Gen 4S supporting an additional 2 M. 2 ssd. That’s a total of 6 M. 2 ssd at Gen 4 speeds. That did have an in-built fan, so I’m not sure if I’ll use it.

(I like my rigs to be ultra quiet). With regard to in-built audio on the motherboard, that was not an issue since I use an external DAC/Headphone amp, namely the iFi Zen DAC V2. So, the winner, the MSI MEG X570S ACE MAX, a superb motherboard, full of features, inputs and outputs, fan headers.

It has an excellent build quality including the back. MSI have not skimped on materials or traded off one or two features in order to keep costs down. The bios is easy enough to work around, I had no problems with it whatsoever.

When I purchased it, the bios did not require an update, it was fine straight out of the box. I’ve had the motherboard some 5 months now, I’m really pleased with it and have had no issues whatsoever with it.

Would I recommend this motherboard to anyone else, most definitely, without hesitation. It’s all you could wish for in a motherboard and then some, furthermore, it is very reasonably priced.

I’m a video editor and was looking to make some upgrades to my system. Due to editing raw video codecs I decided to stick AMD for the blunt power of many cores; but I won’t be jumping to AM5 until the platforms matures a little first to avoid any instability issues.

I needed a motherboard that offered at least two extra PCIe slots each with 4x lanes or greater for my extra cards – which is surprisingly difficult to find. Plus some m. 2 slots for fast storage. Threadripper was beyond what I could afford.

This is one of the few AM4 motherboards that allows you to fully populate all of the M. 2 slots and PCIe slots. Many others that offer 4x M. 2 slots and extra PCIe slots won’t allow you to use them all at once due to the limitations of the chipset; such as populating all m.

2 slots will turn off a PCIe slot and so on, so you have to do some careful research into the what can and cannot be used at the same time. So while this board doesn’t offer 4x M. 2 slots, it does mean that all 3x of them can be used at the same time as all the PCIe slots.

Incase you’re curious the board has been populated with a graphics card, Blackmagic Decklink 4k Monitor Card, a 10Gbe ethernet card, NVMe boot drive, NVMe scratch disk, and SATA SSD file storage. I’m hoping that someday someone will make a motherboard with heaps of bifurcated PCIe expansion to give users like me more expandability without the need to jump up to threadripper; but until then this will fit my requirements perfectly.

USB 2. 0 has been a bit flaky as Sebastian R’s review notes though I only had problems at startup, a newer BIOS may be why we had a different experience. A google did confirm it as an issue but I followed advice I found to disable ErP and this appeared to fix it.

I am not 100% that this is a gigabyte issue. It is pretty rough though that USB should misbehave and my rating has the board down a whole star over it. There have been a lot of recent bios updates (late 2021) including AGESA stuff.

I only have USB issues now with coming out of sleep mode and that is with ERP on (I loaded optimsed defaults at one point). I will turn it off again and expect it will fix the sleep mode USB problem occurring too.

DDR support seems OK, I could not get the rated 3600 out of my kit without angrying up the voltage past XMP (and decided against it) but the RAM is certifed as being for Intel (despite being on the ERP) so no worries there either.

I did notice the USB problem at DDR3600 on startup again too. Weird. Love the optical audio out! Flashing the bios to support the 5700G with a bare (no RAM or CPU) motherboard worked well. Super cool feature.

I used the Aorus Elite Wifi Motherboard for my first time computer build and paired it with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. I wanted to be able to use the PCIe 4. 0 for a M. 2 slot and my GPU and operate cordless via WiFi if need-be.

Its been up and running for about a week now and I am very pleased with the outcome. A couple of minor issues I ran into: (1) I tried to test the motherboard before placing it in the case (RAM and GPU inserted and hooked up to a Power source and the monitor) but could not get a signal to the monitor.

I decided to finish the build and then tried the power button on the case and thankfully it worked. There haven’t been any issues turning the computer on or off since. Not sure if this is due to my lack of experience building.

(2) The other issue was with the ports at the bottom. I decided to add fans to the bottom of my case and this meant that some of the cords had to be awkwardly angled in order to fit (the USB connector slot).

But they work just fine and its actually not noticeable on the finished build. This is prolly due to the case I have, so double check spacing if you also want to have some fans near the bottom edge of the motherboard.

(3) The RGB lighting controls for the fans is “good enough. ” At times the RAM doesn’t light up correctly or at all. The RGB is probably the biggest issue out of the three for me but not so bad that I would remove a star.

Other things to note: I am using a Power Hub to connect/power the fans so that I am not overloading the few fan ports that come with the motherboard. I haven’t tried to overclock, outside of changing the XMP settings, and have had no issues with BIOS.

I currently only use the top M. 2 slot so it isn’t a problem for me, but the GPU does slightly cover the lower M. 2 slot. I am not sure if it is actually a hindrance though. The issues were pretty minor and I am definitely pleased with the way things have turned out so far.

Needed a motherboard with the following to attach to an 8 port KVM switch: VGA port, 2 PS2, or 1 PS2 and a com port. Needed an upgrade to run a new video program and fully use the security features of Windows 11.

Was surprised at the fast boot time of this build. Was paired with 32G of RAM and a 12th gen, CPU. One drawback is the on board graphics driver does not allow for custom resolutions on the VGA port. The other monitor connected on the HDMI will do that.

Google showed custom resolution for the vga was taken out in the latest release. The 2nd gen. MB it replaced had 6 SATA ports but this one only had 4. Appears all B660 boards only have 4. Added a 2 port add-in card, problem solved.

Not a high end build. Does what I wanted it to do. Placed in a 20 year old case with 600W power supply. I like my cases to match.

I saw another reviewer mention there was no manual included in the box. This is true, but the quick start guide has everything you need for anyone who’s even remotely familiar with building a computer.

So for the complete noobie, they might have to go to the website and get more help, but otherwise the Quick Start is just fine and I’m happy there’s less junk in the box I have to throw away. The board has overclocking settings in the BIOS, but being a B460 chipset that purportedly doesn’t support OC, I’m not sure what will happen if you use a K-series CPU.

I haven’t built enough Intel rigs lately to know if you can get around the chipset limitation, might be worth looking into though if you have plans to OC. This build consisted of: Intel Core i3-10100 Oloy DDR4-3000 2 x 8gb (16gb) [set to DDR4-2666 due to CPU limitation] WD Black 500GB SN750 SSD 300W PSU / slim case Entire build was just a hair under four Benjamins, and that’s serious computing power compared to what you’d get a few years ago.

Hard to believe, this particular CPU is about as powerful as a I7-7700 that cost about three times as much just a couple/few years back. Would have certainly preferred a Ryzen platform but their CPUs have been impossible to find lately.

If you need a budget/mainstream right and don’t require displayport (or 4k @ 60hz resolution) this board is a solid motherboard that’s hard to beat.

Im pretty sure the reason why this died after a month was my fault, not too sure why. Ran just fine, then I got a new case and PSU, transferred the mobo to the case and would boot, but then randomly shut off and reboot 15 sec to a minute after loading windows.

I might have touched the mobo with static electricity, or fried a circuit with the power supply, or the connections might not have been in and messed up the motherboard, not too sure. Lucky covered under warranty as long as no physical damage is done to the board, will be contacting support for a new one all in all though, motherboard ran great, the only thing I don’t like is the CMOS battery is right under the PCI slot, so its annoying to get out (if needed) when you have a graphics card installed.

Be careful with the USB 3. 0 slot, those pins bend easy (but are easy to bend back, they do not break easy from my experience. Motherboard is nice for a smaller build, MATX tower, having two m. 2’s is nice, one even comes with a heat sync.

Good quality motherboard, for the price. Only 1 8 pin for the cpu, no overclocking for those 105w processors, be weary of that!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI got this board as it was one of the most popular motherboards for the X570 chipset. I originally purchased an MSI X570-A Pro but returned that because of a defect with CPU power, and I wanted more features like the front USB-C header, better thermals, M.

2 heat sync, etc. The installation was easy and it actually came with a paper manual unlike the A Pro. Plenty of fan, A-RGB, RGB headers. The bios is easy to understand like the previous MSI board and setting up PWM controls and XMP were easy, which is essentially all I need for my case as I don’t do any overclocking.

Returning this however, since the coil whine coming from the socket/VRM is ridiculously loud and driving me insane. CPU is a Ryzen 9 5900X. It was originally a beeping at around 40bpm, so I updated the bios and now it’s just a constant whine along with a buzzing like something’s hitting a fan.

I have (7) Arctic 140mm and 120mm fans in my case and the whine is louder than all of those at idle and noticeable at load. It also doesn’t help that I use open-back headphones as well. I couldn’t find any info about this motherboard in particular having bad coil whine on any forum, reviews, etc.

, so I am not sure if I was unlucky again and had an especially bad board, but at this point I am done with MSI after getting 2 “bad” motherboards in a row. Will be trying out Asus again with whom I have had experience in the past.

Other cons, one is nitpicky: The Wifi is horrible. I have to use Wifi instead of ethernet due to room layout. Windows says the latest drivers are installed, and in fact they are properly installed, but the connection drops every few minutes making it pretty much unusable.

the RGB LED’s on the back of the board are just tacky and look bad cuz they’re just dots on the back of the case because they’re right up against it.

0. 3. The memory “try it” feature is great for a starting point to fine tune your ram. 4. 2 usb 3. 2 and 1 usb c front headers are more than most people will need. 5. Bios has integrated memory reader that will tell manufacturing info on ram chips including dies and optimal timings.

The bad: 1. The clear cmos jumpers are in a poor spot if you have a vertically mounted gpu, you have to remove the gpu every time unless you connect to your case reset button (not the best idea, but when you need to reset while troubleshooting it saves disassembly).

2. The game mode in the BIOS is trash, actually hinders performance, worse benchmarks while raising clock speeds and Temps. Userbenchmark cpu scores and Cinebench score dropped significantly over stock clock speeds on Ryzen 9 5900x 3.

The user manual and website are missing some vital information on shared bandwidth between Sata ports and pcie ports. 4. Placement of all system fan headers at the bottom of the board could cause cable routing problems for full size towers without using extensions.

Plan ahead. 5. The integrated vrm fan is loud at speed, doesn’t really do all that much for cooling. The ugly: 1. Dimm slot A1 will no longer post using xmp, board was purchased Oct 31, 2021 2. Dragon center/MSI Center software is buggy, ram leaks, and rgb doesn’t save settings.

I will personally be looking to go back to asus products as my experience with a few msi products has been rather disappointing. See my review of the MPG CoreLiquid k360.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis is my first WIFI enabled board which is actually what initially attracted me to it. From scouring the web, its is the lowest tier MSI offers that has full PCI 4 bus on all lanes which is what I want to further future proof for newer cards and SSDs moving forward.

To start, I would mention that the placement of the CPU socket is probably a little higher than usual. I bought a larger than usual cooler (Noctua D-15). This caused some issues when trying to install in a case that left little headroom for my hands to fit in and install cables for fans/cpu power.

Apart from that, installing everything was simple and a breeze. The inclusion of a fixed IO brick(?)/panel made seating the board simple and plugging in easy. The board actually came with a newer version of the BIOS preinstalled that made it compatible with Ryzen 5XXX series CPUs which saved me a big hassle in installing new BIOS.

However it should be mentioned MSI offers a BIOS installation method that allows you to upgrade without a CPU! Which is quite handy. Initially I was upset because the board has RGB and it was something I wanted to avoid.

The back side of the board has a series of lights I totally missed in all photos or vids. It can be turned off with MSI’s custom RGB software (of course) but it was a surprise I don’t remember being mentioned or shown anywhere when I purchased.

This is a great board. I had a lot of fun installing and setting everything up and I would attribute my problems with cabling and seating with the cooler more user error. For what I wanted out of it, WIFI and Bluetooth natively on the board and PCI-E 4.

0, it has been perfect. You can probably get some of the same for less from MSIs other projects, but for a semi future proof (at the moment) board its hard to beat.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased this motherboard as an emergency back-up replacement to my ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero x570 motherboard, which died 12/16/2021 after only 10 months of time.

This motherboard was one of the cheapest X570 motherboards that I could personally verify at the store had a BIOS version ready for Ryzen 5000. NOTE: If you have a Ryzen 5000 CPU and purchase this motherboard online, there is a chance it may come with a BIOS version that is not ready to support it.

In-store, you can verify Ryzen 5000 readiness by looking for a sticker on the motherboard. It is likely most motherboards purchased online by this point will have the required BIOS for Ryzen 5000, but if you wish to verify this, you would have to see the box in-store.

If you do receive a board that has an old BIOS, this motherboard does NOT support BIOS flashback, which means you would need to install a compatible CPU (Ryzen 3000) to load the new BIOS for your Ryzen 5000 CPU.

AMD offers a loaner program for this, if you do not have a friend to borrow a CPU from, but you may be asked by AMD to go through ASUS first to see if you can send the board back to them to flash it for you.

This would be a headache, so if this is remotely a concern for you, I would recommend going in-store for this purchase. The motherboard is as-advertised and does everything it needs to do. My components transferred into the motherboard and booted up perfectly the first time.

The only tweaks needed were for RAM frequency which were adjusted in BIOS easily and gave no trouble. The motherboard manual is fairy detailed and was able to answer everything I needed to know regarding installation.

The reason for 4 stars versus 5 stars is that I have had two very odd freezes since putting my components into the system. The first freezing happened on the desktop while I was away from the computer.

The screen locked onto the desktop, system time was frozen at the time of the crash, and I could not move the mouse. The second time the computer froze I returned to my computer while it was on the desktop and found that the system time was frozen, but this time I could move the mouse.

I tried clicking on various applications and nothing would respond. After researching, there are some threads out there online that discuss this motherboard having freezing issues. I am fairly confident it has to be the board software and not any other part of my system, because I have observed no other defects on windows or crashes while doing more intensive tasks.

The freezes are very, very intermittent (on the order of 2 weeks+), so I will have to monitor for increases of frequency. It is a minor inconvenience at this point, but is noted so that you can do your own research prior to making the purchase.

If I could go back in time I think I would have gone for a Gigabyte board if I had not been in a pickle for getting a board quickly.

Koska wifiä voi käyttää koneessa erillisen usb wifi donglen avulla, en itse aikonut palauttaa emolevyä takuuseen, sillä koneen kuljetuksista takuuseen aiheutusi suuremmat kustannukset kuin siitä erillisestä wifi usb donglesta ja kone ei olisi käytettävissä huollon aikana.

Näinollen tuotteen laadun ongelmat jäävät omaksi tappiokseni. Voi olla että muilla tuotteen ostajilla on parempi onni emolevynsa laadun kanssa ja wifi sattuukin toimimaan, mutta tuote saa minulta reilusti miinusta huonosta laadusta / tuotteen ominaisuuksista, joiden toimivuudesta ei ole taetta.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe first PC I built lasted for about 10 years and never gave me any serious problems. This year, the power supply failed and it wouldn’t POST anymore. Since it was already a decade old (practically prehistoric in the computer world these days) I put it aside and built a 2nd PC.

I chose the ASUS Tuf Gaming X570 on a whim (and more positive reviews), after I had spent a couple days selecting parts based around a Gigabyte something-or-other board. And I don’t regret it! Once I got my bearings, I breezed through connecting everything and the out-of-box POST and video card test went perfectly (after I used a good HDMI cable).

I was able to get into the BIOS and look around at temperatures and whatnot. There are a ton of options to customize how this thing runs. Placing it in the case wasn’t an issue, but installing the Cooler Master CPU fan took some figuring out.

Anyway I felt compelled to write this review mainly because of the trouble I had installing Windows 10 Pro, but also because of the other Cons I mentioned. I don’t think I would’ve ever gotten the Windows 10 problem if it hadn’t been for other customers on Newegg, so this is a thank you to them.

I tried to install it multiple times and failed every time (Windows encountered a problem with your machine blah blah blah). This went on for days. Then I remembered the reviews on here talking about the WiFi and Bluetooth.

So I disable both of them in the BIOS and Shazam! Specifically, the problem is with the WiFi controller. Even after I installed the OS, if I enabled the WiFi controller Windows 10 encountered a problem.

I couldn’t find any explanation for the conflict but I don’t use the WiFi so I quit worrying about it. The board doesn’t have an integrated graphics card, which is something OBS requires for the Window capture option to show video if you record the video from an application like VLC.

Only my GPU shows up in Device Manager. I worked around that by using the Game capture feature. I don’t understand the reasoning that well but apparently this board “gets” video from certain 5th Gen Ryzen CPUs, but earlier Gen require a GPU? But the board won’t boot up without a GPU anyway? I have a 3rd Gen Ryzen 9 CPU so I don’t know.

The last thing; there is an output for a USB-C connection but there’s no USB-C module on the board. There’s a USB 3. 2 but you’d have to convert it to a type C with an adapter, which kind of sucks because the Xbox PC controller I wanted to buy needs USB-C.

And I’m not going to sacrifice all of the available USB 3. 0 outputs for one type C; I don’t game nearly enough to justify that. The ASUS Tuf Gaming X570 (Plus WiFi) is a very great motherboard! The Windows 10 thing is really what’s preventing me from giving it a perfect score.

Here’s the short version, I purchased this motherboard for three simple reasons. It has the six Sata ports which I need, it has a better build quality than the lower end X570s, and it has support for the latest Ryzen Processors.

It has behaved as expected, looks great and has great thermals. This board is (currently) less than the X570-A PRO, with most of the feature set, and a superior build quality. For almost everyone this board goes above and beyond what is needed.

The Long version, MSI thank you. SIX Sata ports should be standard on all full size ATX motherboards. If it weren’t for MSI I’d probably have to chuck away two of my drives. Build quality is great, I finally have enough fan headers, and the integrated IO shield is a nice touch.

Overall, I am very happy with this board, despite its shortcomings… Installation was a feat and a half. Due to this motherboard’s lumps of metal (which I hesitantly call heatsinks) and the positioning of the CPU power header, the clearance from the fan blades in my NZXT h500 is approximately 1mm.

The anti-vibration screws I was using no longer fit. However, this seems to be the standard layout for most Ryzen Motherboards, so is simply something to bear in mind when upgrading from a non-RYZEN based CPU.

So back to the Lumps of metal. The heatsinks are aesthetically pleasing, and somehow they seem to offer sufficient cooling. But they are just lumps of metal, I would have preferred to see a more traditional fin based design.

If only to make it easier for air to pass through or just to make it seem that the components were running as cool as possible. The Main complaint I have is with the MSI Centre program (formally MSI Dragon Centre).

Although somewhat useful, the program fails to apply any settings (excluding RGB) after rebooting. Each time my PC is restarted, I have to manually reapply things like fan settings, for each individual fan.

Ultimately, I have chosen to use the BIOS instead, but considering that this feature worked perfectly in MSI Command Centre (on my old MSI Motherboard from 2014), it should work on new systems. Upgrades should improve stuff, not make it worse.

Hopefully one day, MSI centre will include basic features which are fully functional and tested. Even simple ones like, a board explorer (similar to the one in the BIOS), GPU information, multiple temperature sensor readings, the ability to set case fans based on a different temperature sensor to the default, and for said fan settings to actually apply when booting into Windows.

As for RGB, this motherboard has some ARBG LEDs, which is nice. I would have liked there to be more of them, or for the ones that it does have to be dissipated rather than just obvious individual diodes.

The ARGBs on the Wraith Prism cooler (that comes as standard with some AMD processors) work perfectly in MSI Centre, so long as the RGB connector is unplugged. for some reason. It would have been nice if there was a USB header next to the RGB one, so that I didn’t have to route the necessary cables so awkwardly.

In conclusion, a great board. A few quirks, some that will hopefully be fixed with software updates. Recommended.

I had one of my computer savvy nephews listen to my list of needs based on the ability to upgrade to Windows 11, performance, and mid-level gaming (for me and not the limitations of the motherboard).

The ASUS X570-Pro TUF Gaming WiFi meets all my expectations and more. It is a solid choice. I also appreciate the ASUS program (Armoury Crate) that allows for immediate visual information monitoring CPU temp etc.

and overall updates. My one complaint/frustration was with the box clearly having a new sticker designating it as Windows 11 ready. When I first booted up the pc and went to the Windows update download, it indicated that “Your device does not meet the requirements for upgrade”.

ASUS never provided information as to how one needs to go into the Bios etc. and make the necessary tweaks to get it to be recognized as Windows 11 ready. My erroneous first gut reaction was to think I made a major miscalculation with my purchase.

Google and YouTube searches resolved the issue.

I went to Micro Center looking for a totally different main board, but decided on the ASUS TUG Gaming Wifi AMD AM4 ATX board after seeing about two dozen other boards. It had the I/O I wanted. It sported multiple video ports.

It had speedy ethernet and WiFi network capability. The UEFI interface in CMOS was easy to use and reliable. In short, the TUF Gaming board has it all. Just be sure to install the CPU and cooling devices PRIOR to installing the board into the chassis in order to avoid overstressing the board! This is a really good board.

Having built innumerable computers since my first IBM PC AT in the 1980’s, I can say from experience that this is a well built board, excellent features, solid CMOS, good throughput, and reliability.

It ain’t just for gaming, boys and girls. This is a workhorse that will provide service for a very long time.

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi motherboard is a great value for those wanting to build first or budget gaming computer. I’m installing a Ryzen 5 2600x I got from a friend to start my build and I feel good knowing that this board supports Ryzen 5000 series cpus when I want to upgrade down the line.

I picked this motherboard because of its versatility. I’m not entirely sure where the computer is going to go, it’s currently next to my tv as I was a console gamer and I am now using this computer as a replacement.

The wifi feature works great when gaming or using the computer for other things. This motherboard has m. 2 thermal guards pre installed so you don’t have to buy a heatsink for your m. 2 drives. Gigabyte’s RGB Fusion 2.

0 works great and is very easy to use. The build quality looks great and feels solid when working on it. This is my first computer build in… years and I always wanted to have a nice looking PC but I didn’t want to spend a ton of money and this motherboard checks all the boxes for my use case.

I also sprung for Microcenter’s extended warranty so I feel confident that if anything goes wrong, I will be in good hands. The employees at Microcenter are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and recommended this board and I couldn’t be happier.

Need integrated graphics? Don’t need a ton of USB ports? Don’t mind being extra mindful when routing your SATA6 and NVMe drives? Don’t need WiFi 6? Don’t need a ton of expansion slots? Don’t need USB 2 on the back of your machine? But you do need more than 2 memory banks and your own TPM module? Then this is your guy.

I love it for what it is. When I purchased this a few months ago, it was already updated with the minimum firmware (f60) to run my Ryzen 5700G. That was pleasant, and shortly after I’d purchased it, Gigabyte did release the f61 which officially supported my CPU.

It’s been nearly two months I’ve owned these PC parts and so far they’re running like butter. My only suggestion — if you’re old like me — is to avoid the CD in the packaging and download the software directly from Gigabyte if you can.

This wacky, ancient CD installed an app that bugs me to install Chrome sixty-something whenever I restart my PC. For the record, at the time of this review the latest version of Chrome is 99. 0. 4844.

We’re near a hundred, and the packaged version is so old my grandmother might still use it. But I digress. And yes, I know TPM module is a tautology, but I also still call it the ATMOS system over ten years later, so cut me some slack.

The motherboard did not post when I got everything put together. Google searching turned up that the BIOS the motherboard comes with is not compatible with modern processors, requiring an older processor to be able to flash the BIOS.

AMD offers a loaner service, but it’s better to be able to just put a processor in and be good to go instead of having to perform surgery on your computer multiple times to even get started. An additional terrible feature to this board is the backing plate for mounting the cooler is not secured to the board by anything but the plastic mounts.

For a cooler that requires taking off these plastic mounts, like the Wraith Cooler, the backing plate needs held in place until the mounting screws for the cooler have been started. If Micro Center offers a free loaner APU to at least get the BIOS functional I won’t need a refund on an open-box item.

If no free loaner (or some other free option for getting the BIOS functional), I’ll just return the thing. Having to unmount the cooler to get the APU out means I’ll probably want new thermal paste to make sure good contact is made.

I have been putting my own PCs together for friends, family and myself for almost 20 years now. MSI is a name that has been around for quite a while, and one that I always trusted and counted on to perform as advertised.

From mother boards to video cards and gaming PCs; they usually provide a lot of performance for reasonable amounts of money. When I pick components out for builds, I always try to focus on cost/performance ratios.

This board solidly meets that criteria when compared to the sea of x570s out in the market right now. Sure you can spend $600 and get arguably 10-15% potential performance on benchmarks or under ideal conditions – but this board makes everything so much more easier and enjoyable to use while sacrificing little in comparison to them.

Appearance: With that being said, this board walks a nice line between “looking professional” and all out gaming “glitz” RGB goodness. With the Mystic RGB lights off, it case easily pass the “incognito” factor for those that don’t want their retinas seered out every time they glance at their case.

Personally, I find it is just the right amount – while I know for others it won’t be “enough”. The pre-installed I/O sheild does a good job of keeping the rear IO section clean and clear and helps add the boards overall sleek and “solid” feel.

Physically holding the board, provides the feeling that is made of quality materials and the color and design choices help remind you why you spent this amount of money on a quality board. The VRMs are solid and look great.

They appear to have had considerable engineering thought put into their placement and layout. Functionality: I bought this for my personal build, and it has not disappointed me yet. Every componet I put into the board functioned flawlessly upon initial boot up and is performing to spec.

In comparison, I just came off of building an x470 board for a friend for his new Ryzen 3600 build. and I had to purchase a Ryzen 2000 series CPU to get his BIOS to post and recognize the new CPU. Needless to say, you don’t have to worry about that with these x570 boards.

The FROZR fans are quite, and the M. 2 heat sinks not only look good, but do a great job of keeping my M. 2 drive cool under load. It refreshing to have a board that works as intended without having to spend some time troubleshooting the first go around.

The EZ Debug LEDs would come in handy if you decide to start OC’ing your memory a bit or happen to have any issues pop up unexpectedly. Given the price point, I do feel that they could have thrown a LED display, but held that back for the more “expensive” models.

The BIOS is refreshing straightforward and simple enough to move around without being excessively hard to hunt things down in. Having WiFi 6 on board is a nice change of pace and also ensure an upgrade path to better and faster speeds as the WiFi 6 equipment continues to come down and price makes it way into the general market (not bleeding edge market.

Final thoughts: I said it before, I’ll say it again – this board cover that “sweet spot” of having all the new and great features that x570 has to offer – all without costing a mortgage payment. Yeah, it missing some feature that I would consider “nice to haves” – but includes many things that some other boards in the $200-$300 range lack.

The closest competitor is the ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus (WiFi) – but goes with a custom Realtek LAN controller with WiFi 5 (compared to the WiFi 6 on this board) and only 1 passively cooled M. 2 slot.

That ASUS TUF board has a cheaper aesthetic to it in my opinion and doesn’t warrant the cheaper price with this board costing just a little more. Gigabyte has the AORUS x570 Elite in this price range as well, but trims a little too much to hit the $200 mark without really giving you anything that the Gaming Pro Carbon doesn’t have until you spend over$300 dollars (the Elite doesn’t even give you a Debug LED on it for example).

Overall, I would say this is the board to beat for the x570 “mid-tier” price bracket. It provides much of what you would expect a high quality expensive motherboard to offer, while limiting the features that were “cut out” in order to meet this price point (.

Big factors that I like about the MSI X570 Gaming Carbon Pro WIFI are: – Aesthetics. The right amount of ARBG on the board including 5V and 12VDC for your RGB strips and fans compared to just 12V with my older motherboard.

– Robust VRMs. This will likely handle the future R9 3900x with ease. – Bluetooth 5. 0, Wi-Fi 6, and PCIe 4. 0. – Easy to use UEFI menu and Mystic light software to control the ARGB lights. – 7. 1 channel High Definition sound system.

– The Chipset fan also provides airflow to the NVME slots to aid in keeping things cool. Other things that I would like to mention are the Driver, manual and Bios support from MSI website. The PCIe slots are reinforced with stainless steel which provides better support for my 3 fan GPU.

It was a great motherboard I kept it air cleaned every month. It was super fast. The load times were great but after a year and a half of owning it the electronics just slowly started to give out. The subs stopped charging after a while.

The rgb on the board would randomly turn on during the night when the computer was off. I would look and sometimes my mouse and keyboard would have power and flashing. Then after a year and half it burned out and I found burn marks behind the board during my routine dust clean.

I contacted support they said it would up to 3-6 weeks for a replacement because of covid and thats depressing. Been a Mai user for a lon time I still love the brand but after spending 200 plus dollars on a mother board I thought it would last longer specially since the last msi board lasted me 4 years of hardcore gaming.

Great overall board, Upgraded to this from an X570. Yes some may say its going DOWN in features, however with a maxed out X570 (cam controller, fan controllers, RGB controller, PCIe wifi with USB Bluetooth and added a USB Hub) i was constantly getting USB controller issues.

If it wasnt for CAM i would NOT of needed this upgrade. So what did i benefit? All of the items i previsoully added to the X570 Aorus Elite was NOW on board. connected fans, rgb, all to the board with its onboard CAM controller.

Wifi and BT are built in (no extra card needed) and I only need one PCIe 4 slot (GPU is still PCIe 3) Cleaned up my setup. love the all black, minimalistic approach, easy to install and its an ASRock board by nature.

Slightly pricey at $249, picked up on sale for $230.

Aesthetically and functionally, this is a very nice looking motherboard with great port options for a variety of cases and components. My greatest frustration with this board is removing the metal shield.

I’ve had two versions of this board, the intel and amd versions, and the metal shield is not at all easy to remove to get access to what’s underneath, particularly for screwing the board into the case.

With both versions, I had to use quite a bit of force to remove the metal shield, which ended up distorting the board to the point where the metal shield doesn’t properly reattach. This could lead, as in my case it did, to the two PICe SSD covers not properly reattaching, or as also happened, the small magnets that attach to these two covers becoming removed from the board itself (they are only attached by small stickers and not even a part of the board itself)! I ended up buying SSDs with heatsinks as an excuse to not even use these two covers any more, rather than look at them sagging or constantly having to open the case and try to reattach them.

Board had issues. Installing any softwre on SSD (both 2. 5 ssd & 2 different NVME drives) would result in crash / lock up. I used 3 different known good CPUs, 4 different ram modules, one at a time, dual channel, and tried all four dim slots.

I used Nvidia RTX, GTX cards, also used a radeon RX 6700xt, and APU on ryzen 3 3200g. Different BSoD error every time for windows, linux would just lock up. Took back exchanged for Asus tuf x570, dropped it in and its up and running now.

Its a shame too, i was putting this in the NZXT h510. This board, in my opinion is the best looking mother board on the market. Just to bad. i would have been more productive putting a ham sandwich in my pc case.

Purchased as my Asus PRIME X570-PRO looked to have developed a fault with chipset. Went for MAG as it didn’t need a fan for the chipset, it supported the GSkill 3800Hz, and was a good price. Worked out of the box, was able to run the Memory at correct hz no problem.

The board had a good feel and did not look cheap. The packaging wasn’t quite to the same standard as ASUS.

Sticker price was $129, got $20 off by pairing it with a Ryzen 5 3600 through MC. Was going to pair with a TOMAHAWK MAX but MC was out of stock, so for less than $20 more than that, I grabbed this board, justifying the increase to aesthetics.

And let me say, it’s a great looking board. ROG logo on the heat shield is the only ARGB component on this board, the text in the bottom right is passively reflective, but will look great under case-lighting.

If you’re not going the full RGB Route, the logo alone is actually a nice splash of color in what may be an otherwise dark case like my setup. Enough to make the board pop out when you want, but you won’t be scrambling for the settings because it is distractingly bright.

For a typical gaming PC, this board has virtually everything you need. Works with the Ryzen 5 3600 out of the box, no BIOS update needed (but confirm this with MC staff before you purchase, just in case!), works with the 3600 MHz RAM I paired with it, multiple PCLE slots and more than enough fan headers for my needs.

I do not overclock the build that I paired this with, so I can’t speak to its capabilities and performance there, but for my use of stock components to play games, I have zero issues at all. BIOS settings are straightforward and easy to set up so that my RAM runs at the speed I want and boot drives are correctly chosen.

Plenty of youtube tutorials for those who need them (like me) My one gripe is that it’s got a 12V RGB header and to be honest I would much rather prefer the 5V ARGB header instead, but that’s not a fault of the product and more of buyer’s choice.

Just know that’s what you’re getting with this board and pick any components accordingly. All in all, for a Ryzen 5 3600 build this is a great board to build around, and for a great price to boot. Grab it with a bundle and save some money.

Bought this motherboard for my gaming PC build. Paired it with a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, GTX 1660 Super graphics card, and 4 x 8Gb G. Skills Trident RGB 3600MHz RAM. Works flawlessly with all my components.

Absolutely no issues at all. The RGB on the motherboard is a nice touch along with the excess amount of USB ports. I like where the front case USB and SATA connections are located also, made a clean install in my Phanteks Enthoo Pro M case.

Honestly the only complaints I have are that it only has 4-pin RGB headers, no 3-pin. And that with the stock AMD Ryzen 3600 cooler, it’s a very tight fit with my G. Skills Trident RGB RAM, but it does fit.

Overall a very good motherboard along with the ASUS Armory Crate software. I love it.

If you are trying to build a rig like I did during the pandemic, not only good luck finding parts or good luck finding parts that aren’t double retail prices right now, (ridiculous and should be the opposite) but buying this board as opposed to a tomahawk isn’t IMO a step down, this thing really is solid, works out of the box as of end of June/beginning of July with 3rd gen Ryzen’s.

Awesome and easy to use/understand BIOS, ( i’m in ZERO way a PC nerd or expert, just built my first “pro rig” to better my Twitch stream, and I overclocked my Ryzen within 30 minutes and GPU ) , plenty of USB 2.

0 AND 3. 0 ports. Has 2 fast charging 3. 1 ports as well. Has a DP port which is nice, but kind of unnecessary as not many people use built in graphics anymore. Mine didnt come with a IO frame or plate, not sure if its meant that way or not, kind of has one on it already on the edges.

But other than that, super nice board, with a hint of RGB on the logo. So much to make it look presentable but not too much RGB to where is looks like a try hard. The only downside ive come into contact with would be the lack of more than 3 fan headers.

I know you can use the AIO pump header but you can’t customize the fan as much/easily as the 4 pin dedicated fan headers can. So you’ll need a 4 pin splitter or fan controller if you want to completely control more than 3 fans in your case.

Does have 2 RGB headers in pretty smart spots as well to hide wires efficiently. 4 channel Ram is a nice touch. I’m currently built with This MOBO Ryzen 7 3600x EVGA RTX 2070 super Corsair H115i water cooler Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32gb (4 x 8gb) Corsair LL120 Rgb Pro fans x 6 NZXT H710.
