The good people at CCrane provided the CC Vector RV Long Range WiFi Receiver System and we love it. We “camp” at a few resorts in Oregon and usually we’re parked far from the WiFi source. Once this was installed on our RV, we were able to capture the WiFi signal, use the internet, and stream movies.

Replaced another eero with this beacon in my home office since I am either on back to back Zoom video conference meetings or downloading / uploading video files. Despite having the router in the room next to my office, the office connection was pretty lousy.

(In great part due to shoddy 1950s construction). That’s no longer the case since the beacon’s arrival! Quick and easy setup to replace previous Eero (the one with the power cord) thanks to the user friendly app instructions.

Highly recommend this product.

I purchased the EERO Wireless Mesh System to replace my conventional Netgear WiFi which I had to use four WiFi Extenders because of weak reception in my three story home. This system is not only remarkable in that you do not need several WiFi extenders but each EERO Beacon has an Ethrenet port which allow a direct connection therefore reducing the WiFi device usage.

I have several devices including Four Ring Outside Cameras, Two Ring Indoor Cameras, Three Echo Shows, Two Desktop Computers, Two iPads, iPhone, Samsung Note8, iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Watch and Four Smart Televisions.

So, I am glad to have the ability to plug our Two Desktop Computers and Two of our Smart Televisions directly into the Ethernet ports on the back of the EERO Beacon. I would like to state this is the easiest WiFi system I have ever setup and over the years I have used many different systems.

Plug in the main beacon, input system password and then go to the other locations in the house and plug in the remaining two beacons and they sync themselves. That simple.

I am super pleased with my Eero whole home mesh. I bought the home base with 2 beacons and purchased this additional beacon from eBay to extend my wi-fi. I have been very pleased with the Eero product.

Eero is not cheap but as the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”. I have no dead spots in my house we have at least 30 devices connected to the network 95% of the time. I have 115 Mbps upload and 11.

5 Mbps download speeds. We have a 3500+ SF home. Eero technical support is the best I have encountered for any product I have ever purchased. They are located in the good old USA available 24/7 with dedicated employees that will stay on the phone with you until your issues are resolved.

You won’t regret owning an Eero.

Pros: My BT main socket is at the front of my bungalow – unfortunately that’s my bedroom. My router was therefore plugged into an extension socket. Wifi was ok but not great. When my BB provider said it only guarantees BB speeds at the master socket I had to move the router to my bedroom resulting in unstable wifi coverage in my living area.

I’ve been using a 3 unit Tenda mesh system for over a year without any problems. Recently I needed to extend wifi coverage to an outbuilding so purchased these three units. Set up was very simple using QR codes on the units.

I’m happy with this Tenda set up. My internet speed is slightly slower than directly at the router but its now stable throughout my home. Cons: None I’ve found.

We needed something simple and neat to help with a couple of dead/slow spots, this plugged straight into my broadband providers router, which we were then able to tuck out of site (this is far nicer looking), then plugged in the second one upstairs in the office, not only did the speed upstairs and slow spot disappear, we have faster speeds downstairs.

Easy set up, only one hitch was working out how to turn off both the 2. 4ghz and 5 ghz on my router (hint, log in and do them both before you add the mesh system). Been running for just over a week, once we connected all the wireless items we have found improvements virtually everywhere, netflix seems quicker, skype in the kitchen no longer stutters and the office has less swearing.

If you need gigabyte speeds you will need to spend more, but for those of us on superfast 72mb broadband, this is superb.

So, let me start off by saying that I currently use a Linksys router that is about four years old in the basement of my 3 story home (including the basement). That router has been working fine since I moved into my house, but I do notice that upstairs I get a slightly weaker and slower wifi signal.

So, i decided to try a mesh system after reading a lot about them and this specific one have a lot of good reviews. Well let me tell you how disappointing the system was. The biggest benefit I see to it was that it is extremely easy to set up.

Set up took about 10 minutes and then it updated for about another 10.  The Wi-Fi signal in the office that the main hub (the puck that was acting as the main router) was extremely fast. My current router gives me about 240 mbps down and this one did give me 380mbps.

But, on every other level of the home (I placed a puck in the basement, main level and upstairs) was extremely laggy. I couldn’t even stream Hulu or Netflix without it buffering every minute. And the Apple TV is inches away from the Wi-Fi puck.

everything on the Google Home app said that all three pucks had extremely strong signal and the mesh network seemed to be working seamlessly, but that didn’t feel like the case. Anywhere in the house besides being in the office with the main router on any device was extremely laggy.

Overall this system was very disappointing and I will probably just be getting another (stronger) single router and returning this one.

Simple setup, looks clean, supports up to 1 Gbps, all for a pretty affordable price. But the range is just horrible. I thought—based on Google’s recommendations—that the router alone could cover our single-level, 1200 sq ft home.

Nope! It can’t, thanks to this one egotistical, cake-eater design flaw: it supports “dual band”, but unlike every other router in the market in the last 20 years, it presents a SINGLE network of both 2.

4 and 5. 0 GHz bands, and THE ROUTER chooses between the two frequency bands for you?? Not your device??? That means, if I am more than 1 room or 20 ft away from the router, my device will be stuck on the (very poor range) 5.

0 GHz and cannot connect to internet at all, despite the device looking like it’s connected to the network. Also very frustrating to try to set up home automation devices, since almost ALL in the market rely on 2.

4 GHz. Sure, buying more of their Google mesh points would help coverage, but should that be necessary? Very frustrating design decision that makes this otherwise great router virtually garbage.

We have the higher power Google mesh router system in our house, and wanted to get something for my parents’ for Christmas. They live in a brick home that is half basement (similar to mine), and the Wi-Fi range was terrible.

At our house, we had upgraded to a rockin modem / router combo and got 1/10 of the distance promised because of the building materials. The Google Mesh system changed the game, in a time when both my husband and I are on Zoom calls all day and need reliable connection.

Back to this product – tried the lower price one for my retired parents (who are also on WiFi all day, just not video calls) and they LOVE it. This is perfect for their house, and makes it so we can also work there whenever we visit.

One thing to note – when we set up our system, my husband spent hours trying to figure out why it wouldn’t connect. Nothing online addressed his issue, customer support couldn’t figure it out. He ended up flipping a switch / turning off a feature on the modem that literally nobody had addressed, just to see what happened, and it finally worked.

For this system, we had none of those issues connecting it to their modem / router combo.

I was having trouble with some buffering in my upstairs bedrooms. I’m in a 3 level house and the router is in the basement. I have FIOS with 75/75 speeds and it works as advertised. But the upper bedrooms sometimes have buffering/slow speeds.

I cut the cord and have Amazon Firesticks on all of the 5 tv’s, and they require internet. I got the 3 Luma’s, one for each floor. The speed in the upper floor and improved, the speeds are about 20-30MBPS now.

I give Luma 4 stars. They don’t get a 5 star rating for the following. With the app, the upload/download speeds never change, which are 82up and 51 down, it never changes. It’s not an up to date number.

And the second ding (minor), is that. the LUMA devices don’t light up indicating the current status. When they are doing what they are supposed to do, they are not illuminated. I thought that a blue light indicated all is well, maybe a red light would indicate a problem.

Like I said, not a big deal, but you need to look at the app to see the status of the three LUMA’s. All in all, I’m happy so far. I’ve only had these for a week, and so far, no internet downtime!!.

WIFI coverage isnt able to do the job, in large houses. Even well placed routers, there are dead zones. Now theres good bandwidth everywhere. Works like a champ, simple setup, and just works. Down side, limited overall control, IP is fixed.

All in all, these things are small issues when the coverage is pumping out over 26Mbps at the farthest point. I would recommend this for those that need access, and dont mind the simplicity of the setup.

NOTE: When setting these units up, reset them first, then follow the directions. Look for the RED circle, then go for the gusto.

found out the company is out of business. and you have to use their web site and app to program them. they took the web site down so the app will not work any longer. I have bought these same ones 3 years ago and were great! but one died and had to replace it.

Now I find out I can not add one Lumas to the network with out logging into the site. Any one has any Ideas please let me know. thanks Baselect.

This is a pretty average access point. It works mostly, as long as you have quite simple expectations. The web UI has a lot of bugs that make features unavailable for no good reason. For example, in AP mode you can’t supply your own HTTPS certificate because the section of the config is hidden.

Luckily if you manually enter the correct URL then you can get it to it. I found you can’t operate a WPA2 PSK on 2. 5 GHz and WPA 2 enterprise on 5 GHz, again due to a UI bug. The tech support is as unhelpful as ever, only reading about the first 10 words of the problem, asking redundant questions and just resorting to asking you to factory reset, which if course, doesn’t help.

Again, I worked out if you “view source” and manually add the rectory option to a drop down it will save and work, so it’s not a technical limitation. Some features don’t really work. Pinning a device to a specific node doesn’t work.

Optimisation is basically useless. I thought this would improve my connection stability but it’s made it worse. My Oculus Quest 2 now randomly disconnects because it’s jumping to a node on the other side of the house, even though it’s right next to one.

Connection is worse than the rubbish slingshot router. I don’t know if this is a problem typical with mesh in general, or ASUS in particular. The first ASUS router I bought 15 years ago was a bit of rebadged trash, and I’m not really sure things have improved.

Not worth the money, buy TP link or netgear.

Works very well. I bought this to replace an r86u router that served me well and am an Asus router fan. Main draw for me of this system was that each unit runs off of 12v and not 18v like my older asus routers.

I have a barn that is down a fairly steep hill and does not have mains power. I do have a solar panel and 2 x 100 amp hour 12v deep cycle batteries to power 12v lighting and recharge my cordless tools.

With this router I was able to fashion a connector directly to my 12v system and thus am able to run the mesh unit without needing an inverter. Only draws about 3 watts when idle which means my battery can run it for about 400 hours without requiring any solar charging.

Speed in the barn isn’t great. I only get about 20 Mbps as the signal is weak. This is well over 100 ft down a hill with numerous trees in the way not to mention two sets of exterior walls. However it has no problems supporting the 4 blink wireless cameras I installed to make sure nobody steals my tractor or tools.

Works very well. In the house the speeds are limited by my cable modem but I get 300 mpbs easily. Anyways if you have an off-grid structure with battery and solar panel this can be a good way to extend wifi coverage.

Can highly recommend this. Read Dongknows for a full review he is spot on. Upgraded from a netgear nighthawk and the difference is awesome. Distance is better plus the combined 2. 4 and 5ghz is handy.

the software is night and day as well, asus is a massive setup over netgears. Setup was extremely easy BUT when completed make sure to check for upgrades, i had to manually trigger the firmware upgrade.

I was also able to get rid of my TPG router. Just plug the ASUS XD6 directly to the NBN coaxial modem into the WAN port. Then during setup find the TPG profile and select this. When you are finished it wont work but log onto the XD6 find the wan settings, set as PPPoE, then enter your TPG connection username and password and you should be good to go.

So far speeds are way more consistant, the UI is gives an excellent overview of whos connected plus strength, really couldn’t be happier.

After 9 months of use, my unit failed to show any available AP’s or other secured personal WiFi. Contacted support. Stayed on phone with them for 45 minutes the first time. They suggested that I try using a different browser such as Google chrome, etc.

Still no joy. They immediately sent me another whole unit which did not identify anything. Called service back and said they were going to send me another one that had a firmware update. Apparently when Apple updated their IOS the repeater would not recognize any AP’s The updated one worked perfectly.

On our first use with the new one in a motorhome, we were parked on Perdido Bay. I fired up the unit and it picked up the parks AP and about 10 more locals using their system, hotspot, etc. directly across the bay is another campground (KOA).

It is also on the water with a direct line of sight. IT IS 2. 5 MILES AWAY! Incredible! In closing, I cannot say enough about the support staff of CCrane. Very knowledgable, courteous, and d.

I bought this kit because out in my garage my Wifi was weak and I couldn’t stream youtube video’s and even email was on again/off again. Once I opened the box, it took me about 30 minutes to get the various parts hooked together and mounted on a wall of the garage.

I followed the instructions for a quick start, and set it up to repeat my main wifi router’s signal. My laptop went from one or two bars for reception strength to the top: four bars. Streaming youtube is perfect, no different than plugging an ethernet cable into my router directly.

This kit really performed for me. I can easily perform any task on the interweb out in my garage as easily as I can anywhere else in home. I highly recommend this product bundle.

Unit was very easy to set up. I installed the antenna using magnets and cable ties to the outside of my metal outbuilding and routed the usb cable inside to the router/wifi unit. It worked well and solved my problem of poor signal inside my metal outbuilding.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe new Mesh WiFi 6 system from Netgear really extends the network for any home and provides added network security features which aren’t available in older generation gear.

A few of these new features are the addition of WPA3 security, App alerts whenever a new device connects, vulnerability scanning of connected devices, and the ability to disconnect unwanted or unauthorized devices with the swipe of a control on your phone.

The router and two additional satellites were very easy to set up using the Nighthawk App which is available for Android or iPhone. My setup was done using an iPhone, and I was able to get up and running by following the straight forward instructions presented in the App.

In all, it took about 15-20 minutes to set up a basic configuration, and just a little more time for me to move the satellites around to different locations to test signal strength and conduct speed tests.

The Nighthawk App is proactive in keeping the router and satellite firmware up to date and checks to see if a new version is available during setup. This is a good thing, as it is very common for new firmware to be released periodically to add features, or to install security patches as new security vulnerabilities are reported.

My router had an update waiting for it right out of the box, and the process was nearly automatic and took no longer than 5 minutes. It is really nice to know the Nighthawk is focused on security, and is working for you behind the scenes to stay ahead of the “bad” actors on the Internet.

Two of my newer laptops instantly recognized the WiFi 6 upgrade from my older WiFi system, and the location upstairs where we previously had a weak signal and slow speeds, now has a much stronger signal and much quicker downloads.

I have a fiber Internet connection to the house with 500/500Mbps service. The speed test conveniently built into the Nighthawk App tested the connection of my ISP and returned results of 512 down and 505 up.

So, there are definitely no bottlenecks between the router and the ISP. Netgear’s Armor security protection is provided as a 30 day trial, with the option to install Bit Defender on your connected devices if you so desire.

Nice that I can try before I subscribe. For tech savvy folks, the traditional method of setting up the router is still available via a web interface which is accessible through a browser pointing to the router’s internal IP address.

You’ll definitely want to check it out, if you are into configuring the more advanced features. For example, I adhere to the practice of disabling the SSID broadcast on a private network, and that task requires accessing the advanced tab in the web interface of the router.

A second broadcasted guest network is available as an option to turn on for visitors, so you won’t have to disclose your hidden SSID and password for your private WiFi network. Overall: a fast, customizable, whole-home-covering Wifi system at a solid value.

IšverstiShow in original languageAs the title states, the wi-fi coverage I’m getting now is like night and day. I am an experienced tech person, so that is my frame of reference in this review. First, I did my research before coming into the store to purchase.

Most reviews I read, didn’t mention the NETGEAR Mesh Wi-Fi 6 system. However; being a tech person, I have used a myriad of NETGEAR products over the years, so I knew before hand they deliver quality consumer network products.

I like the NETGEAR system for two primary reasons: 1) price point and 2) it doesn’t spy on me like some other products I’ll not mention. Outside of that, the wi-fi coverage and number of devices that can connect simultaneously is comparable to more expensive products.

In addition, I liked the fact that each satellite has a wired gigabit LAN backflow connection. The installation was a little tricky because my ISP service is different than most; nevertheless, I was able to access the router configuration interface in short order to make the necessary adjustments to connect to my ISP.

My last three home routers were all NETGEAR, so I am very familiar with the router interface. The satellites connected automatically, so for overall installation, it was very quick and easy. My biggest concern, was getting a good wi-fi signal to our bonus room above the garage.

Previously, I had a router configured as a access point to the main router via hardwire LAN connection. It worked, but I also had one other router within the house acting as another access point. Again, this worked, but not as well as one would think.

When you move from one place to another within the house, the wireless devices would need to connect to the different access points, but it was never that simple and was not consistent – even if using the same SSID for all access points.

One of the new NETGEAR Mesh satellites is located downstairs below the bonus room, but there is ample signal to provide coverage to the bonus room now. My wife and daughter have complained for years about our wi-fi in our home.

Since I have installed this new Mesh system, zero complaints! I am very pleased and wish I’d have made this switch long ago. I highly recommend this system if you’re looking for a cost effective solution to whole home wi-fi coverage.

IšverstiShow in original languageBoth the hardware and the software are dreadful. First the hardware: I spent hours configuring and reconfiguring and could not get the boxes to talk to each other. Wired, wireless, sitting alongside each other it didn’t work.

The lights on the boxes bear no connection to their real world status. The app sometimes says they are not connected even when they are and says they are connected when they are not even plugged in or powered on.

Eventually I returned the system and was told it was faulty and given a replacement. But the replacement is only slightly better. The router works most of the time, one of the satellites is always working but the other one has never connected even once.

It’s useless. The app is even worse. Firstly you have to download an app and create an account with Netgear and remember username and password. Then you HAVE to agree to a 30 day trial of some netgear crapware and their lack of privacy policy just to use your hardware (this is actually illegal I’m pretty sure) and of course it bugs you to buy the full version.

And the app doesn’t work well. Usually it says it can’t find your network even when you are connected to it and able to get online through it. That’s once you’ve managed to log on and got through the “buy our software” stuff.

I am literally going to throw this away and buy something else. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
