20 Best Wifi 6 Router For Long Range (2023 Updated)

I replaced a failing Nighthawk with this router. All as you would expect from TP-Link, easy to set up, good quality and probably reliable. Overall I like it and it is a good router. The interface is clean and modern.

It has QoS which improved my overall throughput on the Nighthawk, but is managed differently on the TP-Link, so I need a bit more reading to try that. However, there are a few issues I have with it. The range doesn’t seem as good as the older Nighthawk.

An existing TP-Link and newer TP-Link range extenders don’t pick up a signal where the old one was plugged in. They need to be higher up and about 3 metres closer to the router (I checked using an extesion cord for the extender).

When I switch on my PC, it seems to take longer to connect to the Internet than the old Nighthawk, but this may be a setting that needs changing, possibly not dropping the IP address when a device is switched off? Not sure but it needs some attention.

I’m also sure my old router reported everything attached, even items with fixed IP addresses but this item doesn’t. So fixing IP addresses for printers and NAS devices means you can’t see them on the client list.

I had a go with OneMesh and a new extender (RE605x) and it didn’t seem as good as my existing extender (also a TP-Link device, an RE650 v1). I’ll have to do a bit more work to see if I can get that working as well as the old device.

OneMesh also only seems to work on the main SSID and not the Guest Network, so you will need another solution for that (I use the old RE650). Time will tell if it is reliable and I can overcome the shortfalls.

None of the shortfalls would stop me from buying this product as it will work in most larger houses, as long as the router is sited centrally on the ground floor. If you have a long home and site it at one end, then you will need extenders or WAP’s to improve your access.

I have returned this router within BestBuy’s return window. The Good: Router performance was awesome, reached corners of ~4000sq house and a detached garage without issue. Easy to use, very fast, handled upper 30 devices with 4 kids streaming class work (streaming Microsoft Teams and Zoom), teacher wife doing virtual teaching one day a week and me working from home.

The Bad: WAN Port would randomly go to “unplugged” / “disconnected” depending on where you looked (iOS app or Webpage). When problem occurred, all devices would still connect to the Archer but the Archer would not connect to the AT&T provided router (1GB Fiber Arris BGW210-700).

Note this AT&T router has been in use for months and has been feeding my pre-wired house (only bypassing it to get better WiFi range). Regardless, I swapped cables, put a dumb switch between the Arris and the Archer but problem remained.

Contacted TP-Link Support and really didn’t get that far (was told to force 1GB Full Duplex or 100MB Full Duplex). Didn’t think a 4 day old router should require that. Unplugged the WAN port and plugging back in (either side) did not resolve, had reboot or power-off the Archer.

I really did like this router and wanted it to work, but after having problems and seeing other reviews with similar issues (some reviews indicated worked great for months then WAN port failed). I decided to return and go with a different brand.

Had a 4 year old D-Link router that was beginning to show its age. Wasn’t getting great signals, also had a D-Ling extender for my Ring devices but still had a terrible signal with the extender about 20 ft from the furthest device.

Almost made my Ring doorbell and camera useless. Got the AX6000, I work in IT and judging from past experiences, I decided to wait until Saturday to install it just in case something went wrong, which usually does.

I could have done this one morning before work! Setup was flawless and only took about 15 minutes. Used the same SSID so all of my devices immediately picked up the WiFi network! I had already configured my D-Link to be an access point, installing it was simple too.

Just connected it, changed the SSID to match my old extender and my devices connected! Love the 8 ports on the AX6000, I was able to dump my 4 port switch, 1 less device to think about. One device in particular was always losing connection to the WiFi, not anymore! Super fast, easy to set up and plenty of features that I will play with later.

Oh the device furthest away from my network, the Ring camera, is now connecting as if it were 2 feet from the router. Now instead of taking at least a minute to connect (horrible when the alert goes off late at night) it now connects in a few seconds!.

First off, I’m not a techie. have enough back ground to build my own computers and navigate through most technical devices but far from an expert. I bought two of these. The first was as a router and the second as an access point.

Both were easy to setup without any issues. I ended up buying two because the router was placed in an office on the far side of the house in a wooden entertainment center. That effected the strength of the signal, so I opted to buy a second one.

I hardwired it running Cat 6 in the attic and dropped it down in the living room to create the access point (you can do it wirelessly as well but want to get the full signal strength to the living room).

I thought about buying a regular access point, but when you start comparing the data speed and number of bands, you basically end up spending $300 anyway and getting less data speed compared to using this as an access point.

Plus, by treating this as an access point, it gave me 8 LAN ports to hardwire all my devices in the living room, so I thought it was a better deal. Also, fyi, I recycled an old 10 year router at best buy for a 15% off coupon.

When this went on sell for $319, I used the 15% off and picked it up for $271. not a bad deal saving $78! I won’t get into all the data speed measurements as it varies on usage, but what I will say is by having two of these on opposite sides of the house, I get my full 5gz/2gz speed through most of the house.

I also love the fact you get the option of splitting the ssid between 5gz and 2gz or combining it into one as well as the access point uses the same ssid to be able to hand off when walking across the house.

I have only started to use the product but enjoy the ease of seeing which client devices are connected to your network, the data usage of each device, the ease of turning on 160mhz on the 5gz band, etc.

I still need to play with the guest network, parent controls, and other security features. The only drawback for me is it didn’t have WPA3 or a WAN that supported larger than 1G speed. But, I figured the WPA3 is just a security feature and the likely hood that I would ever get (and afford) over 1G of internet speed is highly unlikely in the near feature.

I think I saw Comcast offering 2G for almost $300 a month, ouch! Anyway, this router find my needs and both units have been working flawlessly since purchase.

I bought AX88U because I can’t stand for the random reboot from Netgear’s RAX120v2, which is otherwise a fantastic router. I used to own AC86U, so I was hoping AX88U to be a familiar, stable and highly customizable router.

It didn’t disappoint. Unlike RAX120v2, this is a full Wi-Fi 6 certified router. I believe RAX120v2 lacks “Target Wake Time,” so it isn’t Wi-Fi 6 certified. Though I do want to point out that RAX120v2 offers much better throughput and noticeably lower latency on both wired and wireless connections.

AX88U also lacks a 5G/2. 5G LAN/WAN connector. These were in fact the reasons I bought RAX120v2, but it’s simply too unstable to use. Imaging waiting minutes just for the router to reboot.

I bought this as a replacement for my Telstra router and despite some initial hiccups I’m glad I did. Pros: * Speeds, WiFi 6 and WPA3 support are great. * Can actually change the DNS settings to whatever you like.

* Has support for static routes and WPA2-Enterprise which is a nice bonus. * Has a decent advanced config page with a good amount of settings to mess around with * Has an app that lets you configure your network from your phone, however I haven’t used it Cons: * Setup OOTB was a bit of a pain.

It pays to read the manual even if you’re technically inclined as the settings required for a HFC NBN connection are different than FTTN and FTTP. Namely I had to set the MAC address to “Clone current device address” for a connection to a cable modem (i.

e HFC NBN) to work. I wish this was documented in the setup wizard as well. * IPv6 support: Furthermore, this was also difficult. TP-Link’s terminology doesn’t seem match up with the documentation that most Aussie ISPs provide for v6 support.

In particular on my HFC setup I had to set the IPv6 WAN to Dynamic with the “Get IPv6 Address” set to “Non-address” and the LAN set to “SLAAC+RDNSS” for it to work. Failing to do the former would seem to generate IPv6 addresses on the LAN side but prevent routing out to the internet.

* WiFi range is a bit less than I’d like, however this may the result of “Smart Connect” (band steering) being enabled. Overall I’m extremely satisfied with this router even with the above issues.

I purchased this router a few weeks ago, it has exceeded my expectations. I bought this to replace an existing Archer 1750 router, as we needed something that could keep up with 20+ devices and 4k streaming with minimal issues.

This router handles the demands of my household with no issues. Some of the reviews mentioned the lack of customizing the settings. This router has the ability to modify down to granular settings, by default the Admin site is set to basic, you’ll need to toggle to advanced to open up all the settings.

For example, I wanted a dedicated SSID for my bedroom TV so that it would be the only item connected to ensure seamless streaming. I went into advanced, turned off the tri-band and now have three SSIDs available to connect to, the 2.

4, 5g, and the secondary 5g. This router is also mesh ready, I paired it with a TP Link extender that was mesh compatible and now have a solid connection throughout my home without having to switch between router and extender.

TP-Link customer support is solid as well. I have fiber internet and wanted to use the router directly from my ethernet wall outlet, without the use of a modem. After receiving my PPPoE credentials from my internet provider, I called TP-Link and they talked me through the settings to configure this router saving me a modem rental fee.

I have had TP-Link routers for years. This was to upgrade our AC1900, which still works but wifi speeds were not as good as they could be. Most of devices are new, however beware. In our case, I had to return this.

The software is super easy to use and gets setup very quick. The bad, if you have any old 2. 4ghz device that can not be manually setup then you might have a probably with it getting to connect. The TP-link software while great, this model does not have any fine tuning.

We have to older smart devices that do not like smart connect or the wifi band ssid sharing. There are some ways around this issue, but then the smart connect feature of most wifi6 devices is useless.

With this tri-band you can create 3 separate ssids that will get your older and new devices up and running, the problem is now they are all potentially on separate networks. That’s the kicker. If you have different devices on 3 different networks then when it comes to using wifi apps you have to switch ssids to connect with those devices.

Very annoying and well with the older AC1900 router that wasn’t a problem. If you are a tuner, this Archer 3200 is not for you, unless you change the software to DD-WRT which nulls your warranty.

I bought the Pro 6 three pack and a Pro extender during a recent sale to replace four Google Wifi and a Nest Wifi point that had been having trouble keeping up with the new bandwidth requirements of 4K video and multiple people on Zoom at the same time.

Why so much mesh? We live in a 1910 house that’s tall (three stories) and skinny with old, thick plaster walls, including a kitchen with metal lathe plaster and tin paneling that sits like a giant Faraday cage in the middle of the first floor just waiting to block electromagnetic waves to the small addition in the back of the house where the kids play video games.

So far, I’m happy with the eero Pro 6: setup was simple using the app, and connection speeds are generally five to ten times faster throughout the house for wireless devices that support newer protocols.

The eero devices (other than the extender) are all wired via Cat6 to maximize performance. I didn’t face the more serious inability to connect some 2. 4GHz devices that some people have reported, though I did have to manually enter my SSID into my Kasa 2.

4GHz wifi switches in order for them to see the network. My Racchio irrigation controller also found the network on its own, though I know some people have reported problems with that particular device.

Coverage seems generally better than with the Google devices, thus my ability to go from five points to three plus an extender. Where I previously needed a Google point in my attic to get adequate coverage for my office, the eero on the floor below now provides four or five times better speed.

(No more, “You’re connection is causing problems” messages from our company video conferencing system, which is nice. ) I have 1GB Verizon fiber, and the eero consistently reports max download and upload speeds between 760Mbps and 900Mbps.

My newer devices (like my iPhone 12) peak at about about 370Mbps over wifi, which I find more than acceptable given that I have about 60 wifi devices on the network and another dozen or so wired. The Google system was clearly struggling to keep up at times, and my upload and download speeds regularly fell into the 30-50Mbps range.

One thing that seemed to help the eero (and you network managers out there probably already knew this, but I just figured it out): In a couple locations, I have the eero connected via it’s second port to a gigabit switch that’s handling other wired devices (such as Hue and Eufy hubs).

I found that overall network performance seemed to improve if I connected the wall port to the eero , and then the eero to the switch, rather than connecting the switch to the wall port, and then attaching the eero to the switch.

I’m not sure exactly why this helps, but it definitely seemed to improve overall throughput. I’ll update as I get more sophisticated in how I use the eero (reconnecting my NAS as a person cloud, for instance, and as I get more firmware updates), but so far, I’m pretty pleased.

Hopefully writing this review hasn’t jinxed me.

Bought the 3-pack and also added another 1. Very good and pretty much as advertised. Super easy setup. We got these to deal with some dead spots and because it allowed us to have rooms where we needed to plug in PCs that didn’t have wifi (or wifi wasn’t a good option) and the 2 available Ethernet slots per unit were the perfect solution.

Got rid of the 50 foot ugly cables we had running around the baseboards of the house. The only 3 negatives which lost it the 5-star rating are that the security features are causing some devices to lose wifi here and there (only for a few seconds), the same security (which has nice features) is only free for 30 days (annoying, and not worth continuing), and the speed.

The last one may be a big thing for some, so I’ll explain. We have 1GB service. Our hardline devices generally get about 750-800 on speedtest. net. Our wifi devices were getting about 500. Now with the Eero (which replaced the “upgraded” spectrum hardware), we are at slightly less than those numbers.

So for us, killing the dead zones and adding 8 ethernet ports around the house were worth losing a few percent on the speed. But again, starting with 1GB service allows you not to worry about losing some in translation.

For those who may be at 200, 100 or lower, it could be an issue. Bottom line: I totally recommend this for effectively expanding wifi in larger areas, and for giving yourself those sometimes valuable Ethernet ports without running cables.

If you’re getting this to speed up your wifi, I would be cautious.

My primary season for purchasing was additional coverage and speed, throughput. Our house is larger requiring pods to expand coverage, speed. After doing a lot of research on multiple mesh wifi systems, reading user reviews, and watching various YouTube videos I finally decided on Eero 6 Pro.

The 3-pack, drop in price also sealed the deal. My setup before purchasing: Xfinity Pro Plan: 1200Mbps (down) 40Mbps (up) with two Xfinity branded “pods” to extend coverage in cold spots. I appreciated the ease of adding the pods to my network, but speeds were at best 8-9Mbps down/1-2Mbps (up) with almost non-existent upload speeds.

Immediately after setup of the Eero system, I could see an immediate increase in speeds in far reaches of our home, including the garage. My coverage and download speeds after install are the following: 2nd Floor: 237Mbps (down)/41Mbps (up) 1st Floor: 579Mbps (down)/41Mbps (up) Garage: 272Mbps (down)/41Mbps (up) This may have been overkill buying this system, but with the inclusion of Wi-Fi 6 made more sense and will cover our needs for the next (hopefully) several years.

The app was easy to use, easy to setup and controls give you may options. For power users, this may not be enough, but for most this will work just fine. I love the inclusion of the guest network with the ability to use a QR code or text when sharing.

It is OK WiFi 6 router looking at $74 price. Don’t forget to buy extra protection plan for this. I had this refurbished router previously and exactly after 1yr due to some issue (I guess thermal/heat) it went into bool loop.

I opened it and the thermal pad was completely rotten. I had to throw it and buy again since this is the only cheapest WiFi 6 router around. Good – 1. is it has two separate 2. 5GHz and 5GHz network so you can chose what network to connect to.

2. 4 Ethernet RJ45 ports Bad – 1. Has thermal/heat issues so it will betray you anytime. The new one I got has given me a problem couple times already where after 4-5 it just stops and its internet LED turns Orange.

To recover I have to restart it. I’m watching it for the moment when I’ll return it and use the protection plan I’ve bought with it.

I bought the Archer AX10 for the WiFi 6 upgrade because we switched our family to a faster Internet connection and started streaming video on more devices at once for distance learning at home. Unfortunately, the device has frequently lost connection to the Internet (connected through a Netgear CM500).

At least twice a day the Internet connection would suddenly drop without warning. Resetting the router would fix the problem until it dropped again – sometimes within minutes, sometimes hours. I remained hopeful that a firmware upgrade would fix the problem, but when TP-Link finally came out with an upgrade the problem got way worse.

I don’t even try to use this router anymore because it drops the Internet connection every 5 minutes or so. For some reason, flashing back to the older firmware doesn’t work. too bad I didn’t send the router back right away.

This has been one of those dreaded, super annoying, regrettable purchases.

This is the best purchase ever. The default NBN modem/routers that come from your provider are very bad. But you can use them as modem only (as a bridge) and pait it with this fantastic and superfast Ax10 Wifi router.

I have seen my speed go up spectacularly and the connections are way more stable! Also great for wireless connecting Oculus Quest 2 to the PC (Wifi-6)!. Very happy with the purchase.

If you are in a situation where you cannot run wiring and are in a medium/larger home that is filled with lots of walls, this is the absolute best non-commercial system you can buy. Pros: -SUPER fast speeds.

On a Fiber 1000/1000 connection and was able to get up to 850Mbps at the base router, about 600Mbps on the mesh points, all tested using an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I’ve used/tested many brands and this one is cannot be beat outside of buying a much more expensive commercial grade system.

-5Ghz dedicated backhaul ensures amazing connection between mesh points and router. Most other systems do NOT have a dedicated backhaul, meaning the mesh points connect using the same channel and frequency as Wi-Fi-devices, meaning this can create slow downs in many situations.

-This system penetrates walls better than other systems, but do not expect night and day difference either. -Simple controls and interface -Aesthetically pleasing router and mesh points that can usually blend in most places visually -2.

5G WAN port will help support faster speeds when available -House is hurricane proof with lots of concrete and and metal studded walls. This system seems to better penetrate walls vs other systems. -Simple setup.

Bridge mode or router mode offer the same performance. Cons: -Price is hard to justify for most. I did it because my house was extremely tough to connect throughout, but it was a fraction of what it would cost to wire the house with Ethernet.

-The moment you try to start doing advanced stuff, such as VLAN, IPv6, or parental controls, it becomes extremely buggy. So keep it simple with this system -Hate the cash grab they do from the subscriptions they want you to pay for extra parental controls or internet security.

It’s pretty insulting for a system of this price. -VPN Access requires some extra work -While the general interface is good, the app needs further work.

I’ve been with Google Wifi since Asus Google OnHub, and 1st and 2nd Generation Google Home Wifi, and it’s worked for me mostly, until my smart home outgrew it. The Asus Onhub was nice, I had good experience, but as my home eventually outgrew it.

I then upgraded to the 1st gen of Google Home wifi, but as more devices were added on, I would lose connection and needed to be reset consistently, then I bought the 2nd Generation to replace it, a 3 mesh node set up.

A year or so later, same thing, I needed to reset it consistently. I have 70plus devices on my home wifi, and apparantly Google Home Wifi cannot handle it. So, I tried Netgear Orbi AX6000 with 2 nodes, I hated it, after 2 days.

The mobile app was limited in functionality and appeal. Also, you are required to pay an annual subscription to Netgear Armor security. I returned it and exchanged it for this Asus Zen AX6600 XT8. It’s been excellent!!! Rich and full featured mobile app with a visually appealing interface, accessibility and control of this router is great and connectivity performance is exceptional.

I’ve increased my wifi speed and coverage at least 3x’s. I’m fortunate enough to live in the AT&T fiber area and with GigaNet, this Asus Zen AX6600 XT8 was a great quality and value purchase. No complaints and I would highly recommend.

I have 3200 SQFT home 2 stories with this mesh set on each side of the home on the main floor. It provides connectivity throughout my home with 70plus devices on my wifi – tablets, smart TV’s, gaming consoles and systems, smart phones, smart lights, smart appliances, smart cameras, and we stream youtube, youtube TV, netflix, hbomax constantly.

We use over 1TB of data monthly. Asus Zen AX6600 XT8 is the workhorse I needed. From experience, skip Google Wifi, skip Netgear, go with Asus. AIMesh is for real. I hooked up my inlaws on it with their old Asus router that happened to be compatible with another Asus router and it worked flawlessly.

This router sure was expensive, here are some pros and cons: Pros: – Lots of features – Fast throughput – Good Range – 5Ghz band sometimes slows to a crawl (Under 2Mbps vs the normal 700+ I can get out of it) or doesn’t allow connections or disappears altogether.

This is a pro because of the amount of added suspense that the buffering and stuttering adds to your favorite shows and movies. Will it pause again? When will it pause? The random switch between HD and 480p as the site desperately tries to keep up really makes you appreciate the higher resolution (something we often take for granted) -DHCP: Any router can automatically assign an IP address to your various devices, a basic core function of a router, but this one combined with the blazing fast reboot speeds, takes upwards of 10-15 minutes after a reboot to allow most devices to connect and get an IP which is another pro as taking a break from the internet can be a good thing, and you don’t even need to worry, because it’s got you covered.

Don’t even try to reserve IPs manually, because it knows you need that sweet break time, and it delivers! – It looks like a spaceship, so throwing it out of your window in frustration allows you to pretend a tiny alien ship crashed on your property, fun for the kids and adults alike.

– Firmware updates – these are a pain to have to install so luckily they are a bit few and far between on this $400 router. Cons: Can’t think of one, best $400 I ever spent as long as I can pair it with something that can.

I purchased the item because my previous Nighthawk router finally stopped working after 6 years of use. I never had an issue with my previous Netgear routers in the past. I decided to finally upgrade my home with a new router and decide to stay with a Netgear product.

I chose the the RAX200 router after researching several other routers and mesh systems. The type of internet usage that is being used at my home didn’t require my family and I to venture towards a state of the art router.

The RAX200 was a perfect system blend of speed, functionality, and coverage for our home. The router has performed very well and beyond our expectations. We have had great quality of internet service with no interruptions or loss of wireless signal.

The only displeasure I have is with the Netgear Nighthawk App. It has a reflection of an app that was just thrown together and not streamed to have a better communication or controls of the router. One example is when I try to manage my devices, it tends to not save the editing or will reset the changes back to their original descriptions.

So, besides my discord with the Nighthawk App, the wireless router RAX200 is one of the best devices I have purchased in awhile and would highly recommend it to any of my family or friends. Thanks Netgear the great device!.

Hear me out: I came from a Linksys router that was a little over 4 years old. Recently a candle warmer was knocked over and the wax managed to spill into the router. Even despite that the only difference we noticed was that it no longer reached the back of the house.

So, it was time to look into purchasing another one. After a lot of research I was pointed here. Left it in my cart for 3 days before deciding after seeing other negative comments. Now here I am a week later and about to go through the hassle of returning the router.

The router reboots about twice a day. I have worked in the IT field for over 10 years now and I wish I would have stuck with my gut with netgear. This router is sleek, it does provide an impressive speed, multiple devices are able to run smoothly, and the range isn’t exactly what I expected but it isn’t bad.

For a router in this price range I should not be experiencing reboots. The reboots happened the very first day of purchase about 8 hours after setup. Which happen to be right in the middle of the final round between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.

Thankful the card went to decision. And was a little embarrassing with the friends we had over. If you are looking for something with extra speed for basic internet suffering I say okay. But if you stream games, and/or UFC fight cards.

I am going to say this is not the router for you despite being on the top 2022 routers. Netgear should be embarrassed of this product.

I purchased this router as a replacement for the default router that came with my Starlink kit. I was looking for a relatively standard set of features that were missing in the default router, mostly: – DHCP IP reservation – Guest networks – Additional LAN ports The set up was very easy and I really like the admin interface (+ the Tether app) – they look great and simplify tasks like creating MAC/IP mapping from the list of already connected clients a breeze.

It is also provides slightly better WiFi coverage (with the router sitting right in the middle our 3. 5 bedroom house gets good coverage in every corner) and is much more stable that the old router going for weeks without a need to reboot.

It also copes well with a relatively high number of concurrent connections (we get up to 20 devices connected on a busy day) and handles situations with concurrent video conferencing and video streaming well.

I’ve been using the router for a month and haven’t identified any significant disadvantages so far. Great choice for a simple home internet setup.

This replaced my d-link nighthawk that randomly stopped working and required regular reboots. This router has now been running for over 9 months with no problems at all. Easy setup. Plugged directly into fibre terminal.

Setup on 2 degrees no problems. Range is ok. User interface and mobile app is good. Wifi6 is great.

The time from opening the box to internet took less than an hour. Going through the installation process was very straightforward. It has preconfigured options for some NZ companies already so you only need to enter your username / password, connect the router to the ONT, and you’re away.

Wifi is stable and fast, wired is of course excellent. WPS pairing is fast as well. A great mid-range router for a decent price.

It may look creepy like a spider, or just plain stupid, but it gets the job done! I purchased this a couple years ago because the built in wifi that is in my internet provider’s modem is just garbage.

This router is a tank. I get 2. 4 signal all over my house, and even most of it is covered with the 5ghz band as well. And we have solid concrete cinder block walls behind all our drywall. No issue with signal.

My internet speed is 1gigabit down and 50 megabit up. On 2. 4 with solid signal I can usually get 120megbit down and the full 5 up without issues. On 5ghz I can get over 350 megabit down if I am within solid signal range.

When hard wired to it, I have no issue with max speeds on all fronts. I have an android phone, and downloaded the app to control this router from it, and it is packed with great features. From the app, I can tunr on or off any of the 3 wifi attenas, I can block internet access to any device that is connected to it, and I can even limit how much time a certain device gets internet access, Another useful feature is, you can connect any device, and the assign it to a specific user, So if you have a house full of people who all have devices connected, you can make user profiles and assign the devices to the specific user that uses that device.

So when little Johnny comes home to play video games while he chats on his phone, but didn’t take out the trash, you can block all his devices from internet access all at once by turning off access to his profile.

Just a few useful features for those with big families with several devices. These are just a few solid features of this router, It has gotten several firmware updates that have improved it’s security and performance as well.

Just make sure you do a full power down for at least 30 seconds and then do a full reboot. Some of the firmware updates have crippled my upload speed until I take this step, Overall, fantastic router! Been using it for over 3 years now!.

This router was supposed to be top of the line when I bought it in 2020. The signal has been decent, but it has been plagued with problems that progressively get worse over time. One feature I liked was being able to use the parental time block feature to shut the router off at specific times of the day on the kids devices.

It worked like a champ for a few months and then randomly deleted all the ip addresses for the kids devices (which were many!) After re-adding all the devices for the 3rd time, they deleted again. After that stranger things began happening.

When I would log into the router from my computer or phone, etc. everything turned into japanese. I don’t know japanese, so I had to follow some screenshots to turn it back to english. Fast forward another month, the router turned off completely.

I restarted it and all our smart devices (50+) are working with the unit. however now when I try to log into the router, not only am I being japanese again, it doesn’t recognize my login anymore. I tried the factory login and still nothing.

I called Asus, and after waiting on hold for 20+minutes, they tell me it is out of warranty, so they told me to go to their website and use the chat feature. I used the chat feature, and they proceed to tell me I need to do a factory reset.

Which means I have to set up a whole new network SSID and reprogram 50+ devices to work with the router again! There is no guarantee this won’t happen again. so I am on the fence about restarting the modem since things are still working.

I just can’t access the settings in the modem. If I must reset, I will purchase a new modem and throw this one away as no one should have to use this piece of garbage! I only bought this modem for the gaming reliability for one of the kids.

I should have stuck with my old reliable Apple router literally the most reliable router I have ever owned. I have also owned netgear. other than the constant connection issues with it I never had a settings issue.

Don’t even get me started on the ASUS laptop I bought a few years ago! Asus sucks.

I pre ordered it from PB Tech on 17 September 2021 but had to wait for delivery until October as they did not had it in the stock at that time I guess because of Lockdowns. It was the most expensive and advance router available in NZ last year.

You do not need another router in future to upgrade your Internet speed. It can already handle the speed the Internet providers even cannot offer in NZ at the moment. It is the most powerful router which can connect dozens of devises and covers the large area through the thick wall of a large house.

One devise solves all you Internet needs. No need for Mashing in house. This is what you paying for here. The hardware and software is the best too. This router is very heavy for a reason. It is packed with all the best Hi Tech staff inside and it delivers when you really need it.

Had all high speed ports in and out of router and super easy software installation. Download from “Google app” store for free on Android phone and you can control the entire Internet in house from you Mobile phone.

No need to go PC to do it. Software is very advance as you would expect for this money and can offer you so many settings which you probably do not need but IT specialists will defiantly appreciate these extras.

RGB light on the top at the middle of the router is nice extra too especially at night in the dark. Can choose any colour you like. To cut this long story short – IT IS THE FULL PACKAGE and ULTIMATE INTERNET DEVICE.

After trying several solutions for May dual story house, I finally settled with the eero pro and I have to say that network quality drastically improved. I had xfinity and nighthawk routers before and now of them could cover my whole house, specifically the outdoor cameras always dropped connections or more than two TV’s doing streaming.

The eero pro have the bandwidth to not only manage lots of smart devices, but also satisfy the media consumption needs of my family while I can access bandwidth to get work done. I also like the device management capabilities that allow me to block content from all my kids devices with a single tap or get notified when a new device connects.

I also have separate network for guests and I share a simple QR code and they are online. Great devices and great software. I also signed up for the basic security plan that blocks ads and threats at a network level.

The eero a understand Wi-Fi 6 and WPA3. They are great. The best thing, they automatically learn and the Wi-Fi gets better over time. The first 24h were not too impressive, but after that all devices were connected to the best router (I have 3 eero pro 6 in total) and now everything works flawlessly.

This device was recommended to me by relative who has suffered through wifi troubles in his house, until finally deciding to invest in a few Eero routers to create a mesh system that has brought him nothing but consistent and reliable speeds.

I reluctantly took his advice, I’m someone that typically has always stuck with Netgear because it’s what i’m familiar with. I am absolutely thrilled with switching to the Eero router! This router fully takes advantage of my 500mbps download speeds and even exceeding it depending on my location in the house.

Speaking of coverage, I only have a single Eero device and it manages to cover every corner of my house including the basement. Coverage will vary depending on the size of your dwellings. My space is roughly 1300 square feet and even perceivable dead zones manage to give me functional speeds.

I plan on buying a second unit when i get a larger space. My understanding is that these devices have their own seperate channel to communicate with one another and thus extend the already consistent speeds.

The device was easy to setup and provides a mobile app to monitor all devices and traffic that is connected to your router. It’s extremely helpful. It supports both 5ghz and 2. 4ghz channels and devices that utilize them.
