20 Best White Wine For Red Wine Drinkers (2023 Updated)

Wow, What a Great Suprise!! I totally Loved each and every wine made by FitVine! And its true, I didn’t experience any headaches or after effects commonly experienced from typical wines and their unhealthy additives, sulfites, chemicals, etc.

I could truly taste the difference, so crisp, clean, fresh and fruity! My favorites in order would probably have to be as follows: RED: 1) Cabernet Sauvignon 2) Pinot Noir WHITES: I would have a hard time picking there as so completely different and Loved Both! But if I had to chose probably 1) Chardonnay 2) Sauvignon Blanc! If you’re at all hesitating, you really need to just DO IT.

You will be happy you did! I have shared this info with several friends and they’re as equally as excited as I as about the FitVine Wines! Thank you FitVine for creating such a superb wine that surpasses many others on the market.

I am a diabetic and although I love wine, it always leaves me feeling “sugar sick”. I am so happy I found this brand. I can enjoy this wine without any adverse effects. AND it tastes great. Crisp and light but flavorful.

I have tried the other whites, the rose and I’m looking forward to trying the red blend.

Maybe it’s was just the Sauvignon Blanc but it tasted like dirt. There was no mineral qualities or that lovely refreshing taste of citrus. It was thick and had a horrible flavor that stayed on your palate forever.

I hope the other wines are better, but I would rather drink barefoot wine and that’s disgusting. I’m still trying to give away the bottles that I have because it’s so undrinkable (unless I’m already a bottle of wine in and can’t tell the crappiness of this wine).

This is a solid drinkable white that most people will like. My husband is the white wine drinker and this is always appreciated. Not too sweet, but not as dry as I prefer. Still, this is the perfect bottle to bring a host for a dinner party or to a small gathering, because it pairs well and most people enjoy it.

It’s also not the cheapest on the rack, so that helps!.

Let’s be real about wine and pricing. If it tastes good to you, nothing else matters. Barefoot has been a bargain wine forever, and their Sauvignon Blanc is a light sipper when you want a casual drink and it’s not a special occasion.

The other great thing is Sauvignon is a low carb/sugar wine, so if you’re limiting these for your current lifestyle, Barefoot’s Sauvignon is a decent choice. Just beware that even dry alcohol still has calories!.

I buy this regularly. I think the manufacturer must know how popular it is because they dont make it available in the 1. 5L bigger bottle to force you to buy more. Thats my theory anyway. This sauvignon blanc is very dry and has definite zing of tartness or sourness.

You may not like it if youre looking for a round, warm feel on the tongue because it veers towards sharpness. Tastes very good on its own or with seafood, sushi.

Not awful for being a renowned “cheap” wine. I would pick Barefoot over other competitors (Yellow Tail, Franzia, etc. ). Cheap price, decent flavor and good for pounding a few bottles on a not-so-special occasion.

This is something I would try to use as a base for a white sangria or wine cooler. If independent, local brands are not available or out of price range, I will opt for Barefoot. I definitely will go this route if looking for quantity rather than quality and it doesn’t disappoint, though it doesn’t impress either.

You get what you pay for, but it’s not half bad. I’d rather buy a bottle of this and drink at home than pay for an over priced glass of Ste Michelle in a restaurant.

This is an extremely tasteful Cab. Many folks stick out their tongue, saying that is too sweet. Honestly, there is nothing sweet about this bottle. There is a bit of fruit, mostly background black cherry, but IT IS NOT SWEET.

I find it very similar to the popular “Carson Ridge” Cab, at $4 more per bottle. I understand the “I don’t like it” reviews. But I do take exception to the low ratings that compare it to different varietals.

Admittedly, it is not as dry as I would prefer in a Cab. But, the background fruit is minimal, yet it seems to lead to many of the negative reviews. All said, I respectfully disagree, and I will be buying this very nice example again.

So if I’d written this review the day I opened the bottle I would have given it a 4 star review. It is smooth, but with a nice oak undertone. A hint of the peppery taste that I love about a malbec but not too much.

But here is why I give it 5 stars!! I bought it for a special event, opened it, but we left the next day, and I left it in my RV. Yes I used my wine saver pump, but it was 6 weeks til I got the bottle out of my RV.

Usually it is then very “vinegar”y. But I’ve finished off this bottle the last 2 nights with some brie, and it is still fabulous!!! So it will definately be a go to when I know I’m not going to finish it in one night, especially for the price!!!!.

I have been trying to like red wine having always preferred white. I pretty much hate all red wines, feels like taking medicine ~but this Malbec, oh my, I think it’s my new favorite wine. Now I understand the craze for red.

It’s, well, it’s so perfect. It has the rich flavor of red grapes, a little sweet but not too much, I hate sweet wine, but not too dry so that it parches, it’s a total wine, flavor, depth, smooth, tasty.

I highly recommend it for those who mostly like white but would like to venture into red.

I used to love this wine. The structure and balance have drastically changed and now it is infused with sugar. It is extremely sweet, with sugar crystals adhering to the glass. It gives me a severe headache.

We are oaky Chardonnay lovers, but we tried this wine a month ago. It’s outstanding and perfect for our Florida afternoons. We will continue with this one!

Goodness this is my favorite Savignon Blanc! I got it at a restaurant once and wrote down the name so that I could continue getting it. This is a cheaper option so I enjoy getting it if I can find it!

I Love Rombauer . They did not have the Chardonnay so I thought I would try the Sauvignon Blanc and loved it. Love the delivery service. They are always so kind .

Bright, fresh, crisp, great acidity. A little more tropical fruit than citrus, great balance. I was prepared not to like this as much as my ‘go to’ Sauvignon blanc, Cloudy Bay, but this is right up there with it, and is at the same price point.

As the summer season approaches, I will have this again.

This wine was awful – we couldn’t drink it and dumped it out. Very unfortunate as I had been excited to try it. The nose was like rotten eggs – very sulfuric.

We have been trying to cut alcohol without drinking less wine. We had read about New Zealand’s incentives to wineries that could produce good tasting low alcohol wines, using innovative techniques. We did a tasting between this wine, Yellow Tail Pure Bright (yes I know it’s Australian), and Matua Brancott light Sauvignon Blancs.

The winners were a tie between the Matua and Brancott. They had that, “in your face” flavor and finish we had come to expect of NZ SBs. We are able to drink them to our hearts content, without getting hammered.

The Kim, OTOH… I think they went a bit too far. The wine is slightly sour and tastes watered down. Maybe they harvested the grapes just a tad too early, to get a lower sugar content. Part of our problem with the Yellow Tail Pure Bright, was availability.

It is very good for the price, so retailers have a hard time keeping it in stock. On a streak of whimsy we picked up a light box wine, Bota Box Breeze SB; from Chile. At what would come out to about 4.

50 per 750 ml, it performed quite well. Better than the Kim, in our view.

Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand is a favorite of mine. Kim Crawford is a great go to wine. It’s crisp, nice citrus under tone to it…. I also enjoy that most liquor stores, wine shops, and restaurants I eat at sell Kim Crawford.

This makes it nice because of the dependability of the product. The price point could be better. There are a few other Sauvignon Blanca that are my favorite and better priced. I find places like Total Wine is the best to purchase at….

but as I mentioned this is a great wine that you can order about anywhere and won’t be disappointed or making the wait or wait as you look over the wine list for a third time trying to figure out one wine from the other.

I’m already a big fan of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc so when I saw the new light version with only 70 calories a glass, I had to try it! I was curious if I would notice any difference compared to the original and I’m very impressed and happy to say it tastes exactly the same to me! Disregard reviews of people who say they don’t like this compared to other types of wines.

You want to read the reviews of people who already are Kim Crawford fans and read what they have to say. My vote is you won’t notice the difference so why not to go for the lighter version?! It’s less calories than my spiked seltzer’s so I can now have a glass of wine guilt free!.

These are so cute and tasty! I bought a few of them to add into some gift baskets during the holidays and was thinking that since they were so cheap, they would be taste alright. I decided to try one and I was actually pretty impressed! They are now a staple in my gift baskets as well as my fridge.

I always, always, always will reach for a Moscato, since it’s on the end of the SWEETEST WINES category. There’s many people that don’t seem to like it as sweet as I do, but it makes me happy, when I can find a wine that I like.

SUTTER HOME has many options of wines at affordable prices for everyone. I can’t really specify the tastes of most others, because I’m stuck on moscatos. 😄🍷.

Moscato after a long day of working hard! You can’t beat it! Regular or pink or doesn’t matter! It really just depends on my mood! Sutter home gets it’s Moscato right! I would never choose another brand! I’ve tried others and regretted it! Sutter Home is where it’s at! How do they do it?.

This has quickly become my favorite. I’m not a wine person. I don’t know all the wine lingo. I like whites and roses that are light maybe a little sweet. I wouldn’t consider this wine sweet, it’s refreshing.

I don’t mind drinking this with dinner or sipping with friends.

I absolutely love Ecco Domani. You literally can not go wrong. It’s cheap, tastes great, and is always available. This is also the only wine I ever use for cooking. It has more of a citrusy bite to it than using a Chardonnay so it makes for perfect shrimp scampi.

I was intrigued by the Jeremy Scott label but this wine is pretty bad. I can easily feel I’m drinking something of cheap quality because my face turns red after a couple of drinks…but after the first glass I was already feeling my cheeks getting red.

Not understanding why Jeremy Scott would partner with such a 👎🏼 brand!.

I have always enjoyed a good Riesling wine. Barefoot Riesling White Wine is the brand that has the IT factor in my book. With a clean subtle aromatic white flower notes, a hint of oak, with a bare and slight (very slight) acidity of stones fruits such as peaches and apricots which naturally lifts and balances this fantastical wine.

Barefoot Riesling always has a smooth finish whether at room temperature (yep, you read that correctly) or chilled. Barefoot is always affordable on the pocket book and pares extremely well with all food cultures without taking away from that meal.

If you are needing to do a mad rush to grocery store to grab a bottle of wine for a trip to a Friendsgiving, birthday, or for any gathering, Barefoot Riesling is the sure bet to be favored by all guests.

I purchased this Reisling for a brunch, and was pleasantly surprised. I grabbed it at the last minute from Amazon fresh delivery when 2 of my brunch guests called and asked if they could bring their visiting family.

This put me at 5 people more than I was expecting. I must say we are a family who loves “spirited” get-togethers 🍷🍸, so this constituted a wine emergency! 😆 There is the teeniest tiniest bit of bitterness to this wine, but drop in a strawberry or chunk of peach and it was pretty damn near perfect.

This has since become one of my go-to brunch or light lunch wines. Great buy and great price!.

I love any and all Barefoot Wine honestly. They have a huge selection to choose from, they all have a nice pleasant smooth flavor and the best part is it’s not that expensive. I prefer a sweeter wine myself so my favorite is this Riesling.

It has a great flavor without being overly sweet, and it also goes perfectly with cheese and chocolate. So when I just want to relax and spoil myself a little I will buy me a bottle of this.

So, New Year’s Eve changed quite a bit for me. I had several options originally and then slowly due to issues it ended up being me and my cat on the sofa. now don’t get me wrong I’m totally okay with that.

But I wanted to make it something special. So I lit that candle that I’d say saved. I used the shower steamers that I always forget to use. I rocked a hair mask. And I broke out what for me it was a pretty good wine.

In this case I try to be Josh Chardonnay. Super smooth. I don’t taste the fruit but I can smell that sweeter fruity taste. I also threw a bit of it in a sauce that I was making and that came out pretty well.

Overall I appreciate the opportunity to try this wine via influenster and I think if you tried it you’d like it too.

This Chardonnay to me okay. It was in the dry range. For a person who usually enjoys semi to sweet wines, unfortunately, I have to say I did not enjoy this as much as I thought I would. The taste to me reminded of the whole bark of a tree, with no other flavors coming through.

I’ve paired this with Roasted Chicken and grilled Vegetables.

I liked the upfront taste of the Chardonnay. Smooth. It has the typical Chardonnay aftertaste too, which to me is kind of savory. It went well with Christmas charcuterie boards. I thought the price was decent, however, my favorite is one that is a smidgen cheaper and had more flavor so I likely won’t switch to this one.

I love riesling it’s my favorite type of wine. This one is not so good, it’s very ordinary and doesn’t have many characteristics of a “good” riesling. the flavor fall flat its overly sweet, has no dry notes.

A well balanced one should be dry and sweet, with good fruit notes. I will pass on this one. It is not nearly as bad as you would think. You could use it quite well for a mixing wine in a sangria or in another wine cocktail.

However straight in a glass, I’d rather spend a few more dollars and get something with some substance.

Easy drinking white wine at a very reasonable price. As a house white wine, there is really nothing in this quality and price range that compares. Incredibly underappreciated. This has been my go-to white wine for more than 20 years.

Perfect for serving to guests at large gathering or for just have a glass of wine while cooking dinner. Like Gruner Veltliner, a great paring for most foods Un-oaked, in a good way. VERY drinkable. Typically sold out at most locations.

This is a great example of what a skilled winemaker at the top of their game (Gallo) can deliver at scale, at quality, and at a very affordable price. If you like to casually, rather than snobbishly, drink white wine, you really owe it to yourself to try this simple, honest, easy to drink wine.

It is not going to win any competition medals, but it is strikingly better than any of the box whites. For the over-oaked chardonnay lovers, this is not for you. But for everyone else, this is VERY highly recommended.

I’ve found it impossible to find Chablis wine outside of Total` Wine. If you need to serve a crowd and don’t want boxed Chablis this is a great way to go! If you love the Chardonnay grape and don’t want the oak-age of a Chardonnay this is it.

A clean, fresh, crisp-dry white wine. An everyday good drinking wine at a wonderful price.

I also don’t care what the wine – snobs say. This is a great, easy drinking light wine. I told someone years ago that I taste crisp green apple notes – long before I read the description here that says the exact thing.

But the overall lightness and crispness is what makes this an excellent choice as a good accompaniment for all kinds of food but light enough to enjoy on it’s own. It is actually is lower in alcohol than more ‘serious’ wines which is an added bonus for everyday enjoyment.

As far as domestic wines coming from the mass production vineyards of California go, it’s not bad. It’s dry and with some very high oak notes coupled with some vanilla sweetness from the aging process.

I would not go so far as to call this complex or layered. It tastes pretty much like every other California cabernet. More sweet than earthy. But hey the price is right and you can put it on the table in mixed (friendly) company and not be ashamed of the label.

Especially if any of your guests watch PBS because this vineyard sponsors pretty much every cooking show. I’d probably use this more for cooking and braising than drinking in the future.

This wine will never receive an award at a Paris tasting. No problem. This wine is excellent for your every-day quaff with food or by itself. For the price-point, you can’t beat a reliable name like Robert Mondavi.

Red fruit forward on the nose, with strawberry and cherry, cherry cola, and red licorice. Similar on the palette, along with hints of oak, vanilla, and chocolate, with a creamy texture that doesn’t overpower.

This is not a super complex wine, but it satisfies the taste buds and does what it’s supposed to do. like a white T-shirt that fits just fine. It won’t turn the fashion industry upside-down but it serves its purpose.

My first experience with wine aged in whisky barrels. The nose is slightly smoky, with dark fruit and then the distinct smell of bourbon. It’s medium bodied in the mouth with, berries, oak and then the bourbon finishes.

I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth this is. Can’t decide if itsit’s whisky or wine kind of evening? Try some of both.

I do really like this white blend of chardonnay, moscato and chenin blanc. I also do like all 3 of those whites on their own. It is a little sweet with a crisp aftertaste. Very refreshing and goes very well with lobster.

A few years ago, Martin Codax stopped exporting their original wine to the USA. They changed from a plastic cork to a screw-on cap, and they totally changed the label on the bottle. In Spain, they still have a label very similar to the original one, and the bottle still comes with a plastic cork.

They also have a cheaper version under the brand “Marieta” which comes with a screw-on cap. It seems they think that the American market is not sophisticated enough to warrant the real thing.

The aromas has that slight herby, vegital, floral smell to it like a sauv blanc but also accompanied by pino grigio like light fruit and tartness. The mouth feel has a very freshing crisp element to it.

Taste wise it starts with rubber like flavors with slight amount of floral/herbs and very quickly changes to bright red sour raspberries, citrus, lemon and lemon zest. The finish goes further than expected with a strong citrus and lemon zest flavors.

Personally i found the wine to have some elements of what i find familiar win sauv blanc and pino grisio. If you like both, i would recommend it and overall is a unique experience. Taste: 3. 2/5. 0 value 3.

An absolutely wonderful white wine that paired perfectly with grilled fish. Clean crisp with floral notes and sweet citrus. Not dry. Great value.

I didn’t dive into wine until about two years ago, and only in the past 4-6 months have I begun diving into whites. This is hands down my favorite wine- refreshing, crisp, fruity. I like mine extra cold, sometimes with an ice cube or two.

Makes me feel like I’m on vacation when in reality I’m sitting in front of the window air unit in my kitchen trying not to sizzle in the SC heat. While I am a beer girl through and through, this wine is damn good.

I originally bought this wine because the label was really pretty. That’s probably not the best way to buy a wine but it worked out this time. This brand tastes so good that I needed up buying multiple different kinds!.

Delicious! One of my go to’s! I know I won’t be disappointed if I buy anything from prophecy. The price is great, the flavor and quality is fantastic, I recommend this brand to everyone.

I am a big fan of Moscatos but wood bridge definitely takes the win for me ! Their products are also so delicious especially this one ! The only reason it’s a four star for me is because it’s one of the worse hangovers for me the next day if I drink to much ! But it goes away quick ! Would definitely recommend this.

This is an awesome wine, especially for the price. Good for sipping, and having with dinner. There’s no need for an improvement, It is fine just the way it is. It is very affordable, and is meant for sharing, and conversations.

I will definately buy this wine again!.
