20 Best White Wine For Gift (2023 Updated)

If you like traditional California sauvignons, you’ll like this. It’s a bit tangy and tart. It’s nothing to impress anyone with nor offend them. I’ve never been a fan of California style sauvignons. They’re not smooth to me.

They have too much bite for me. But if you do like them, BAREFOOT will not disappoint at it’s price point. To me Barefoot products will always be ok for those used to traditional California wines. I buy this product a couple of times in the summer, I put it on ice and go do some yardwork:):):) any extra is great for cooking.

California Sauvigmon Blanc is just not my favorite. You can always trust Barefoot products will be decent, I really like their reds the best though.

This Barefoot Pinot Grigio is fantastic. It tastes very light and airy. I paired it with my chicken and pasta dish, and it was perfect. It complimented my food wonderfully and was delicious; I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and wine.

I am delighted that I paired this drink with my chicken and pasta feast. Apparently, this wine also goes well with seafood; however, I will never know for sure because I’m not fond of seafood. I recommend this Pinot Grigio to anyone who needs a good, light, and crisp wine on a budget.

This Barefoot brand is inexpensive, but please do not confuse it with cheap. The taste is fresh and clean. I recommend this Barefoot Pinot Grigio, and I will purchase it in the future. t Grrig.

Let’s be real about wine and pricing. If it tastes good to you, nothing else matters. Barefoot has been a bargain wine forever, and their Sauvignon Blanc is a light sipper when you want a casual drink and it’s not a special occasion.

The other great thing is Sauvignon is a low carb/sugar wine, so if you’re limiting these for your current lifestyle, Barefoot’s Sauvignon is a decent choice. Just beware that even dry alcohol still has calories!.

I like the smell of the lemongrass of this Sauvignon blanc, citrusy that’s making want to smell all day for a very addictive smell. For tasting: it’s fruity and little dry for my palate. Decide, it’s a affordable white wine that everyone can enjoy for picnic, dinner, why not for a get together with friends and family.

General Rule Sauvignon Blanc should be chill 45°. This Sauvignon Blanc should break that rule colder the chill the better Starborough Sauvignon Blanc. I would fridge cold then ice the bottle 20 minutes before serving.

My put freezer 20 minute but I would not suggest for safety reason.

I usually don’t pick white over red, especially considering that I don’t like Chardonnay, Riesling or any other sweet white wines. I have realized that I like Sauvignon Blanc for the slightly dry, non-sweet and clean finish.

This wine is well-balanced with a slight fruit flavor, but not sweet at all. This is my favorite wine, even after trying other very good Sauv Blancs as well. I think this wine is also smooth enough for new wine drinkers but complex enough for experienced ones as well.

I highly recommend giving this wine a try, especially at it’s modest price.

Great bang for your buck. Obviously it is not in a higher price range moscato but for the price, you just cannot go wrong. Honestly, taste quite similar to some of the pricier brands of moscato I have tried save for a slight aftertaste.

The alcohol percentage, price point, and drink ability makes this my go to for budget wines. This is a great brand that unfortunately I only recently discovered after moving to the mainland. They did not gave this in Hawaii and just as well as something tells me the price would have somehow matched everything else, expensive! Lol.

This is probably the best cheap wine I have ever tasted. I got it for $2 at walmart and I was intrigued at the price and saw other reviews that it taste very good, so I had to give it a try. For the price, this wine is absolutely amazing.

Taste very sweet and fruity and has quite a large alcohol percentage, which no one can really complain about. Worth the try and price!.

I went to Wal-Mart today just to get a few household items and stumbled across this great wine. I was a little shocked when I saw that it was only 2. 96 at Wal-Mart but when it’s chilled?? OH MY GOODNESS.

I have kept a bartending position since before starting und graduate school and while I am not a sommelier I can speak as someone who has tried hundreds of varietals and poured thousands of glasses for others (seriously more than that) over the course of some 18 years.

The Marlborough region of New Zealand is best known for housing the vineyards responsible for some of the best Sauvignon Blanc wines (since it’s development in France) due to the climate and natural land layout.

There are many complexities about the production but I’ll skip the details and get to the actual review. I don’t know what the bottle retailed for as several were purchased but in looking online it seems to retail from about $8-$14 for a standard 750ml glass bottle (not the cans).

This is a very reasonable price that adds to the overall “drinkability”, my wine rating system that places a bottle between being a reasonable “any daily” consumable (if desired) to a “special occasion” blend.

This is a dry wine by nearly all accounts but the very fruit forward zesty Meyer lemon and sparkling grapefruit notes round out the dry aspect making it quite palatable. Depending on the vintage I have noticed that the flavors do change more than with other newer S.

B. s (for example the 2019 is sweeter and I’m told it is a heavier “pear” note that leads more than the lemon). Given the taste, availability and price point this is an affordable, well liked wine that can be poured at home on a hot summer’s day and it works as a hostess gift with its cute and not “cheesy” packaging.

*NOTE- This does contain sulphites so if someone is headache prone with wine being a trigger, this is not the best choice. Many people think it has to be “oaked” to have sulphites so a pale varietal is safe- not true- just take my word and look for a sulphite free varietal in your area.

Mmmmmm yummmy!!! bought at my local kroger for a card party. The girls all loved it!!! One friend loved it soo much she asked if i could pick her up a bottle next time i go out lol! She says it is her new night time wine.

not harsh tasting, not bitter. Definitely a sweeter wine, white. Pairs well with steak too. Really brings all of the flavors together. And for the price, you really cant go wrong! no more ordering expensive wine offline, now i can go to my local supermarket and just purchase this wine.

For way cheaper!!! I paid double the amount just to pay for expensive shipping charges on top of receiving damaged bottles upon arrival.

I love this white wine. I usually have it on the holidays but since I haven’t gotten together with family in a while I have been missing out. They usually have this at my local grocery store which is great when I get the chance to buy it.

The bottle of wine is also really reasonably priced. It is $8 at my grocery store. The flavor is sweet but not too sweet. It is a nice little bottle to have for a relaxing night. The name makes it sound really sweet but it is a very subtle sweet flavor.

Alcohol content: The wine has a 13% ABV and is light and easy to drink. Grapes: The primary grape of this wine is Chardonnay (82%), but it also has small amounts of Riesling, Viognier, and Gewurztraminer grape varietals.

Winemaking: The traditional Barefoot Chardonnay wine is fermented in American and French oak barrels. Some carbon dioxide is added to the final blend to enhance the wine’s fresh and lively texture.

I am pretty picky when it comes to my wine. I’m always excited and motivated to try new wine varieties, but when it comes to giving my opinion, I’ll always be quick to say if I don’t like it. This wine is excellent and especially at such an affordable price point.

It is smooth and not too dry. It has a nice combination of notes that compliment each other. I serve it often when having friends over and they always enjoy it. It is perfect to serve with seafood and chicken dinners too!.

i’m quite partial to a white wine some times. when having a glass it has to be sweet tasting and full of flavour. this is both. it is also a very affordable product making it a good purchase which i would recommend.

it comes also as a multipack of individual sized bottles for those who want them on the go or don’t want to open a full bottle. it’s light and fruity without being. acidic or hard to drink.

Always my “cheap” wine choice (the largest bottle of course!!!) I’ve been drinking this wine for over 10 years and it’s never let me down. The favor, taste and smell are consistent. Ladies isn’t that what we want?! I will always recommend this to family and friends.

I have always enjoyed a good Riesling wine. Barefoot Riesling White Wine is the brand that has the IT factor in my book. With a clean subtle aromatic white flower notes, a hint of oak, with a bare and slight (very slight) acidity of stones fruits such as peaches and apricots which naturally lifts and balances this fantastical wine.

Barefoot Riesling always has a smooth finish whether at room temperature (yep, you read that correctly) or chilled. Barefoot is always affordable on the pocket book and pares extremely well with all food cultures without taking away from that meal.

I purchased this Reisling for a brunch, and was pleasantly surprised. I grabbed it at the last minute from Amazon fresh delivery when 2 of my brunch guests called and asked if they could bring their visiting family.

This put me at 5 people more than I was expecting. I must say we are a family who loves “spirited” get-togethers 🍷🍸, so this constituted a wine emergency! 😆 There is the teeniest tiniest bit of bitterness to this wine, but drop in a strawberry or chunk of peach and it was pretty damn near perfect.

This has since become one of my go-to brunch or light lunch wines. Great buy and great price!.

I LOVE Barefoot 🦶🏻 and I LOVE Riesling so this combo was a big win in my book! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Barefoot wines never ever disappoint. they’re always such a great price point! I’m normally a moscato girl but there’s something about a nice chill glass of reisling 🤤 This wine also pairs really well with certain foods and courses! It works well for an apartment of 4 girls who are watching The Bachelor too! I is the perfect amount of sweet and isn’t dry.

If you haven’t tried a Riesling, you’re missing OUT! Totally repurchase this waaaay too often. 12/10 recommend. 🍷🤍🍷.

I love any and all Barefoot Wine honestly. They have a huge selection to choose from, they all have a nice pleasant smooth flavor and the best part is it’s not that expensive. I prefer a sweeter wine myself so my favorite is this Riesling.

It has a great flavor without being overly sweet, and it also goes perfectly with cheese and chocolate. So when I just want to relax and spoil myself a little I will buy me a bottle of this.

I am not a big fan of wine and I hate dry wine. So, keep that in mind while reading my review. I have tried a few cheap wines since I loathe beer and buying what I need for mixed drinks gets pricey. I hated white zinfandel, tasted like sour grapes.

Pink moscato wasn’t too bad, much less sour grape taste. I love sweet stuff. So, I tried this based on the reviews. It’s a “meh” for me. Yeah, it’s fairly sweet, there’s no grapes gone bad taste and it’s not a dry wine at all, but I don’t love it.

We have been trying to cut alcohol without drinking less wine. We had read about New Zealand’s incentives to wineries that could produce good tasting low alcohol wines, using innovative techniques. We did a tasting between this wine, Yellow Tail Pure Bright (yes I know it’s Australian), and Matua Brancott light Sauvignon Blancs.

The winners were a tie between the Matua and Brancott. They had that, “in your face” flavor and finish we had come to expect of NZ SBs. We are able to drink them to our hearts content, without getting hammered.

The Kim, OTOH… I think they went a bit too far. The wine is slightly sour and tastes watered down. Maybe they harvested the grapes just a tad too early, to get a lower sugar content. Part of our problem with the Yellow Tail Pure Bright, was availability.

It is very good for the price, so retailers have a hard time keeping it in stock. On a streak of whimsy we picked up a light box wine, Bota Box Breeze SB; from Chile. At what would come out to about 4.

50 per 750 ml, it performed quite well. Better than the Kim, in our view.

Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand is a favorite of mine. Kim Crawford is a great go to wine. It’s crisp, nice citrus under tone to it…. I also enjoy that most liquor stores, wine shops, and restaurants I eat at sell Kim Crawford.

This makes it nice because of the dependability of the product. The price point could be better. There are a few other Sauvignon Blanca that are my favorite and better priced. I find places like Total Wine is the best to purchase at….

but as I mentioned this is a great wine that you can order about anywhere and won’t be disappointed or making the wait or wait as you look over the wine list for a third time trying to figure out one wine from the other.

This is my favorite. I mostly enjoy Chardonnay’s but enjoy exploring the Sauvignon Blanc isle. I’m not into a strong grapefruit taste. My criteria for choosing a Sauvignon that day (besides price range) was alcohol content, and this one was >14%.

It’s my favorite (and not due to alcohol content), it is just the right amount of grapefruity-ness, crisp and refreshing. I’m glad I tried this one. I always pick up a couple of bottles when I’m at Total Wine and share it with friends.

I had this at a restaurant and i thought it would be twice the price. Great wine! Had it with some grilled shrimp and scallop skewers.

This surprised me. It has been recommended to me so I bought a bottle. I thought it would rival NZ Sauvignon. nope. Its a little too fruit forward for what I expect in a sauvignon. It has a nice bouquet but its a little heavy which was surprising.

More like a cuvee than a true sauvignon.

This is an extremely tasteful Cab. Many folks stick out their tongue, saying that is too sweet. Honestly, there is nothing sweet about this bottle. There is a bit of fruit, mostly background black cherry, but IT IS NOT SWEET.

I find it very similar to the popular “Carson Ridge” Cab, at $4 more per bottle. I understand the “I don’t like it” reviews. But I do take exception to the low ratings that compare it to different varietals.

Admittedly, it is not as dry as I would prefer in a Cab. But, the background fruit is minimal, yet it seems to lead to many of the negative reviews. All said, I respectfully disagree, and I will be buying this very nice example again.

So if I’d written this review the day I opened the bottle I would have given it a 4 star review. It is smooth, but with a nice oak undertone. A hint of the peppery taste that I love about a malbec but not too much.

But here is why I give it 5 stars!! I bought it for a special event, opened it, but we left the next day, and I left it in my RV. Yes I used my wine saver pump, but it was 6 weeks til I got the bottle out of my RV.

Usually it is then very “vinegar”y. But I’ve finished off this bottle the last 2 nights with some brie, and it is still fabulous!!! So it will definately be a go to when I know I’m not going to finish it in one night, especially for the price!!!!.

I have been trying to like red wine having always preferred white. I pretty much hate all red wines, feels like taking medicine ~but this Malbec, oh my, I think it’s my new favorite wine. Now I understand the craze for red.

It’s, well, it’s so perfect. It has the rich flavor of red grapes, a little sweet but not too much, I hate sweet wine, but not too dry so that it parches, it’s a total wine, flavor, depth, smooth, tasty.

I highly recommend it for those who mostly like white but would like to venture into red.

” I couldn’t agree more! At first, a clean crisp pear aroma is noted. On the palate, the moscato is very clean and crisp. It is sweet but the sweetness does not overpower the lemon and orange citrus, as promised from the bottle.

Cupcake vineyards moscato is my number one go to moscato, as of now, if I had to choose, but barefoot makes a great moscato that is at a reasonable price point and will pair nicely with any of the promised foods above.

I love this wine! I found Moscato when I was living in Germany where if anyone knows Europe the wine and beer is usually cheaper than soft drinks. When I came back to Canada I was looking for a reasonably priced Moscato that also tasted like the ones I was used to.

Barefoot came in clutch with an affordable option that goes down so smoothly you won’t notice you have had a whole bottle in 2 hours until you go to grab more and it’s all gone. Highly recommend if you like fruity, sweet wines and aren’t a fan of dry wines.

When I want to relax after a stressful day I love to have a Moscato, sometimes it’s red other times it’s white, but one thing remains the same. I always choose Barefoot Wines. The flavor is light and refreshing, and not overly sweet for me.

If I don’t feel like having Red Moscato, I will usually go with the white. When drinking it at a social event, I feel cute, sweet, and classy because it gives me a confidence boost!.

Because. I received it as a gift from my sister since we both love wine and Hallmark Christmas Movies I never expected the wine to be any good… Surprise Surprise! The wine is very good…

I was really surprised at the crisp refreshing delicious flavors of this Hallmark wine. It pairs brilliantly with chocolate and is just lovely. It is a very light flavor. One of my favs.

I normally don’t buy white wine but I saw that it was on sale and decided to try it. It was very good and was sad that it was the last bottle in the store.

Not for me, but others may appreciate the vegetal notes and mouthfeel of this funky sauvie. I was surprised that I DIDN’T like this. So much, to the point, that I proposed using it as a base for white sangria.

I find the other Sauvignon Blanc by Bota to have more zip/acidity and balance, a great solution to white table wine that you won’t hate serving to your friends. I like the other box better.

My husband picked this up for me. I had switched back to wine after giving it a break for awhile, due to headaches. I thought I would try Sauv Blanc this go around. Like others have said, it is perfect for weekdays, weekends, any time really.

And NO headaches as of yet, which makes this a win/win!.

Absolutely nothing special. . . I have a hard time believing anyone would recommend this. . . it’s at best a generic white wine.

The 2019 we tasted over the past few days is an unusual product. If I apply normal criteria to it, this would be a summary of its somewhat questionable attributes: smells and tastes of apple sauce or juice, slightly “sweet & sour”, with a few hints of difficult to identify flowery scents.

The various flavors compete for your attention, but they don’t blend harmoniously. As a wine it’s hard to take it seriously, however, as a drink it’s acceptable, just as a glass of nice cider would be.

My detailed evaluation returns 2. 3 stars, perhaps too generously. What do we drink it with? It will clash with seafood, but it may be enjoyable with nuts, desserts, blue cheese, or dried fruit. No, it’s not a wine you want to serve with a high-quality meal, but it’s a nice drink.

If it were meant to be an aperitif, it might deserve three stars. [My rather demanding scoring system expressed in stars is not price-dependent but it means: 1 star – don’t drink, 2 – marginal, 3 – worth trying to quite good, 4 – very good to almost excellent, 5 – excellent through absolute perfection.

I accidentally stumbled upon this wine while being out of town looking for another wine that was out of stock. Trying this one instead, it has now become one of my top favorites. No after taste and fresh to drink, I am enjoying this newly found fave of mine.

Pure delight in a bottle! Can’t wait to bust a bottle open on the balcony when the weather warms! Slightly bitter in the best way and will warm you up and break the ice at any social event! You will be busy taking sips in the corner and heading back to the bar making social distancing no thing! Semi fruity with that pungent aftertaste that we long for after a long day at the office.

Weekends or weekday warriors alike, all my gal pals can agree on this bottle.

Love the dreaming tree wines! This is a nice table white and it is very moderately priced. I usually pay around 15. 99 a bottle for the normal wine. This isn’t bone dry but isn’t sweet like a Riesling either.

Perfect in between for a nice glass of refreshing white.

This is absolutely one of my favorite wines. I find it to me light on the palate and refreshing it. I think it’s easy to drink, and a great wine for the price. I think everyone should give this a try and recommend it for your next bottle!.

Just had a bottle of this a few weeks ago and I enjoyed it. I usually prefer red, but this was light and refreshing and paired really well with the chicken piccata dish I enjoyed alongside the wine. I won’t be buying it frequently, but for an occasional, affordable pairing it works well.

Great Value! Great value begins when something your wife loves is offered at 20% lower than you would pay anyway. Being in my wife’s doghouse on Friday, I spied an offer from Total Wine. 20% off that wine my wife loves-Angeline.

When the wine landed on the kitchen table-out of the doghouse I came & the weekend was saved.

Had it with mushroom risotto. Overly perfumy nose. Lacked the acid backbone needed for good food pairing. If you like this flavor profile, I could see sipping it at cocktail hour. Otherwise, plenty of other chards to choose.

I was pleasantly surprised to like this wine as much as I did ! I’m a fan of Monterey Coast (CA) Chardonnays so was surprised to like this Napa company’s California Chardonnay. Assuming there would be an overwhelming Napa influence but that is not the case.

Will be stocking up on this label.

Menage a Trios Exoctic Blend is really good. This is a blend of Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Moscato and is semi-sweet. It is light, crisp blanaced and pairs perfectly with summer and seafood😉. This bottle can be purchased for about $14 a bottle, so it won’t break your budget.

This was my first try but the next bottle would be perfect to mix up a white fruit sangria. *Note, when you scan this bottle, it comes up as the Menage a Trios Blanc. #happyhour.

*note I’m reviewing exotic blend. It’s a nice semi-dry wine. This is one wine I like drink semi-frozen. lol This bottle is something I would drink again. price for this one was honestly less than $11 very cost effective.

I didn’t dive into wine until about two years ago, and only in the past 4-6 months have I begun diving into whites. This is hands down my favorite wine- refreshing, crisp, fruity. I like mine extra cold, sometimes with an ice cube or two.

Makes me feel like I’m on vacation when in reality I’m sitting in front of the window air unit in my kitchen trying not to sizzle in the SC heat. While I am a beer girl through and through, this wine is damn good.

I originally bought this wine because the label was really pretty. That’s probably not the best way to buy a wine but it worked out this time. This brand tastes so good that I needed up buying multiple different kinds!.
