20 Best White Paint For Wood (2023 Updated)

O my goodness! What a wonderful product. Such a beautiful color! I used this Patina Green on a wall with copper to make the wall look like fabric or wallpaper. Success. it is stunning, and the compliments keep coming in! There are so few “greens” that really look like copper patina but this one is a winner.

This color will be used again in my home as copper seems to be the theme. I believe there is a blue that you have that will be my next purchase.

Once you try milk paint, you will never want to go back. The white takes multiple coats to get a solid white finish when you paint dark cabinets but the outcome is worth the work. A little bit goes a long way.

You just add a little water if you want to thin the consistency. It spreads on like sour cream. It was fun to work with. It gets absorbed and dries quickly with zero brushstrokes. This stuff is truly great.

Doing my lower cabinets in China Blue. Did my exterior door in lamp black with a brass kick plate. Cleans up with water. I will never stop buying this stuff. If you are worried about the price. remember you get hat you pay for.

When you are painting something as important and visible as your kitchen cabinets, you have to look for the best. I am more than pleased.

General Finish Milk Paint is not real milk paint. They use “milk paint” to market it for the color options for the paint but does not use any ingredients found in milk paint. Therefore, unlike real milk paint, General Finish has VOC and uses chemical ingredients.

Don’t be fooled by their deceptive marketing. I am extremely upset that I purchased their paint thinking it was milk paint. I used General Finish to paint my child’s furniture and I have waited a month for the toxic VOC odor to disappear and it’s still there.

They need to remove “milk paint” from their product name.

People have mentioned in reviews that white paint has turned yellow. It’s technically not the sealer it’s actually the tannins in the wood (google it) that are pulled through the paint. If you are painting a piece of furniture pale you need to do a layer of oil based undercoat to block tannins from bleeding through.

You also need to allow all paint to cure for at least 24hours before applying a sealer, freshly dried paint can’t be sealed straight away, it will lift that paint. So many people leave negative reviews because it’s actually their inexperience that causes issues.

I have been painting furniture full time for 8 years and this product when used correctly is amazing. But it’s only flaw is that you should never leave any areas thick, you want a thin layer as it will go white on dark colours or yellow on pale colours in the thick areas.

But a thin layer will never go yellow all over that is absolutely tannins. If you are using it for the first time get a scrap piece of wood and paint it and try it out first don’t blame products for your failure.

I used this on a cabinet in my kitchen and spatter marks have seeped in as well as finger prints from my kids and cannot be cleaned away, unfortunately. It was beautiful before that, leaving a silky-smooth, ever-so-slight sheen and can be scrubbed otherwise without damaging the finish.

I wish I had realized this top coat was so pourous before I had invested all the money and work into my project. I guess I should have used Minwax Polycrylic instead for better results (that or just gone with melamine).

:/ Now I have to sand/prime out the stains and re-coat – 3 coats of chalk paint plus 2 coats of clear coat and do that every time there’s a new mark. That or redo them entirely. For the high price of a quart, I expected better performance.

Used this to paint a solid oak file cabinet. I normally love RustOleum products and loved the color of this, so thought it would be a win. I used two coats, allowing 2 hours of dry time between the coats.

The final result looks TERRIBLE. It is incredibly streaky- some spots look like it actually has two different colors of paint, other spots look like they are still wet. There are brush strokes in addition to the streakiness.

After paying nearly $30 for one small can of this paint, I am NOT happy- especially because now I am going to have to buy another paint to paint over this, and spend even more time on this project that I really need to get done.

VERY unhappy.

Around my house we do everything ourselves so we have tried a lot of paints ranging from rather cheap to fairly expensive. The Rust-oleum paints are my favorite for painting metals. We do demolition derbies all summer long and paint about 6-10 cars every year.

We have used other brands of paint to make the designs and pictures on the cars and have had major problems. In the past we have had to completely start over on our cars because we tried using cheap paints.

I have tried exterior paints that specifically said were for use on metals and nothing has ever come close to the Rust-oleum brand. I have had a ton of paints bubble up or peel right off the cars but that has never happened with this stuff.

It goes on thick and in most cases doesn’t require a second coat. I bought the other brands to save money and because I was scared of using the oil based paints and it ended up being a headache and cost more money in the long run.

When painting cars or anything that will be exposed to the weather I will always use Rust-oleum because there is no other brand that can come close. It really does stop rust and works great. I highly recommend this paint to anyone who needs to paint things that will be outside and to stop rust.

We have used it on a crazy amount of things around our house and have yet to be unhappy with it. I find a little goes a very long way also. Its definitely worth the money and I will continue to buy and use it as long as it is avaliable.

I have bought the different colors they have and keep them in my garage in case a project comes along that I need it for. Everyone who paints themselves should have this stuff on hand because there really is so many uses for it.

It goes on smooth and looks really nice when it dries and offers good protection against the elements. None of our stuff has rusted through or faded so I’m 100% happy with all of my results.

I would’ve never believed that painting a truck with Rust-oleum Flat Protective Enamel was possible until my husband and I actually tried it. We purchased a Chevrolet Z71, the truck had some minor body damage, the previous owner had already started fixing this truck then we took on the task of painting it.

We checked the prices on a professional paint job, keep in mind it cost more for larger vehicles. I decided to look on YouTube for ideas on painting the truck myself. Well, Rust-Oleum is a great paint for this project.

I found a number of videos where Rust-Oleum Flat Protective Enamel is used to paint vehicles. I purchased this paint in black, used paint rollers and a hair dryer. This paint glides on and leaves a rather thick coat.

I used the hair dryer to get rid of the bubbles in the paint, and I’m seriously amazed at how smooth the paint becomes. This truck had little to no rust, I feel confident that this paint will protect the body of my Z71.

The finished product looked amazing, it looked close to a job done at Maaco. My husband finished by adding a clear protective coat, we used Rust-Oleum clear in a can and when we finished up by adding a pin stripe, this paint job is close as one can get to a professional paint job.

I highly recommend the 8-oz size of this flat white paint for renters. 8 oz is just right for doing touch-up work with putty to cover up nail holes, TV wall mount holes, etc. in your plain white walls when you move out of an apartment, so as not to get dinged on your security deposit.

Also it’s good for arts and crafts projects too — it’s truly a flat paint, not smooth or slightly glossy like acrylic paint. Any object painted over with a few layers of this paint is easy to paint on with oils or watercolors, and to sketch on in pencil (pencil erases very easily from it too).

TERRIBLE PAINT : I bought RustOleum Painter’s Touch Flat Black Water Based Paint to paint a wooden table for patio use. In the can and upon first applying, the paint appeared blue but later turned black.

It was like brushing on Elmer’s glue. uneven, runny coverage. Advertised as “Ultra Coverage”, it took three to four coats to achieve decent coverage. The appearance is definitely not Flat Black being more like Satin.

I’ve just finished the project so it remains to be seen how well it holds up over time. If you desire ease of application, satisfactory results and a flat black appearance, avoid this product.

I purchased this product because I was looking for FLAT BLACK paint. I search other Rustoleum products but no ” Flat Black “. When I first started it was watery, but after stirring for several minutes it finally thickened up.

Yes, it started out blueish but then the black showed thru but it wasn’t ” Flat Black “. Why doesn’t it say it will dry a satin finish on front of can. Now I will have to go out and try to find FLAT BLACK paint.

This was a waste of time and money !! Not recommended.

Ive used many different rust oleum paints but this was my first American accents version. Gloss black finish when the paint dries however it has a navy blue appearance when wet and when in the can. I found this made it hard to work with as far as being able to tell what had been covered and what had not.

Especially on the second coat. Left my project with more runs and puddles than I would like and I havent had this issue with other rust oleum paints. Coverage was good after two coats and the finish is okay.

I wont be buying this product again however as there are better rust oleum paints out there that are much easier to use and wont make it so easy to puddle and run as this version.

This product is overpriced at $30/qt. It can be purchased elsewhere for $18. 00. I was trying to buy a gallon rather than a quart. After searching for prices which were about $35/gal. elsewhere, I found this.

I assumed it was a gallon and did not read carefully enough. So, it was my fault for not being thorough.

When I saw the price for this paint, I thought the price was too good to be true. In spite of looking I didn’t spot the reason for the low price. As soon as I received the product, it was obvious. This is a quart, not a gallon.

Of course, if you look closely enough it does say quart way down in the information. Stupid me for not digging deeper. However, that information needs to be in the product title, “Quart of Zinsser 03104 Perma-White.

Best mildew resistant paint, that i have found. Paint it white and it stays white. No green or black stuff growing on it. I live 30 minutes north of New Orleans, where the humidity stays high and it is hard to keep outdoor areas from growing green algae, but this stuff works.

Goes on and cleans up like any other latex paint.

I used Beyond Paint in Pewter to cover kitchen cabinets that had a very old and flaking finish. Because the original finish was failing and very uneven I elected to sand and scrape those areas where I would not have a good bond.

This was not a complete removal of the old schelac finish but just enough to encourage a good adherence of the Beyond Paint. I used a small foam type roller on the doors and drawer fronts and a good quality brush to get at areas that were not accessible with the roller.

I applied two coats of the product which provided nice full color coverage. The thick consistency is somewhat gel like and as a result I had almost no drips or difficulty in achieving excellent results.

After a day or two if curing, I was able to install new hardware that required drilling new holes. I had no trouble getting clean drill holes in the paint with no peeling or flaking. I believe that a 30 day cure period will be best for getting the most durable finish.

I have painted kitchen cabinets with other types of paint and I think I will reach for the beyond paint product whenever I need to paint cabinets in the future.

I painted 2 large nightstands that were mahogany. I used linen. The color was more like pebble with lots of grey/ grieve. Nort what I wanted or saw in sample. It took 3 coats and still wasn’t fully covered.

I sanded it lightly, and used another 2 coats of eggshell paint from Sherwin Williams to get the color I wanted. Now I am happy. You MUST use 3/4” cloth roller ( I used 4”), to get good coverage. Brushes were not good no matter what kind I tried.

They only r good to get paint in grooves, then u must go over with a roller to smooth the finish. Did painting five coats save me time? I don’t think do. It also scratch off after second coat by accident.

I would not trust this on cabinets that r used frequently. It would be ok to repaint lighter wood furniture. I like the finish better than chalk paint not so flat.

If you have plenty of time to complete your project, then these products may be for you. The paint is a pudding consistency and should be used with light coats. The paint should be left to dry for no less than 24 hours.

Longer drying time than 24 hours is better. The Beyond Paint Sealer needs a full 3 days or more of curing time. If it comes I to contact with water before it’s fully cured, it will blush. After curing, it will deliver a fairly durable finish for every day use but will not stand up to abuse, such as knives, sharp objects or abrasives coming into contact with it.

Follow all directions when using the Beyond Paint products!.

Recently bought this as it’s HD’s best paint and I’ve had good results with their one level down Ultra in the past. I find that it’s not a true flat and more of a matte finish. I painted an existing ceiling that’s just under 250 sq ft and got a bit too much reflectivity which only shows where roller seems hit etc more clearly when the light reflects off of it.

We have hanging lights. I probably wouldn’t notice with just ceiling cans but it should be better than this. As I noted, previously primed and painted (white) ceiling is just under 250 sq ft and the ceiling itself was clean before painting.

Used all but a few oz of the gallon. I’ll need to do another coat in the future to get it acceptable since I don’t want to use another paint with a different sheen to it now. All that said, I’ve used Ultra on ceilings in the past and for someone starting fresh, would recommend that instead.

We had a leak in the attic from a faulty air handler. We had just painted our ceiling with the Behr ceiling paint. The 2nd day of the leak caused the ceiling to bow out as the weight of the soaked drywall and insulation became heavier.

We called the hvac company and they were sending someone over to fix the problem. The next morning the bowed ceiling hung down about 3 feet. We were worried the ceiling would give way, causing a lot of problems for us.

But the Behr paint stretched and held as the leak continued! The hvac company could not believe it! Said they had never seen anything like it. We were amazed. Even when the remediation company came by to cut open the ceiling to repair it, the Behr paint held, saving our floors, walls and home from serious damage.

We will never use another product except Behr paint in our home. We are so pleased with your products!.

We used Behr products for our entire house. The Scuff Defense paint we used for the walls went on easily with excellent coverage – there are a couple of places where difference in sheen is apparent – even with additional coats – but overall, we found it to be an excellent product – much easier to use than some other brands.

However, the ceiling paint was a total let down. We love the color, sheen, finish, etc, but it took 2 or 3 coats and multiple tries to get it lay down evenly and to cover the old off-white color with a bright white.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have used acrylic latex paint including Behr on asphalt shingles without primer and the results were fine even 15 years after painting the roof white so see no need for a primer.

My experience is that acrylic latex paint adheres very well to asphalt shingles and in addition, acts to hold the gravel to the shingle. Why does Behr recommend a primer? I have also thinned the first coat substantially to ensure that it it seeped between shingles since I have found the paint acts as an additional bond between shingles.

Overall, I have found that painting shingles will add substantial life to them.

I’m going for the deck paint tomorrow. Behr IS the best! Hands down! I’ve used way to many others and they don’t even come close!.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe did not get the coverage listed on the can of 250-450 square feet per gallon. We currently used 18 gallons for a 2400 square foot roof and may need 5 gallons more using an roller for extra course surfaces.

Maybe if the roof was sprayed we could get better coverage rates. The current roof was in very poor condition and was a light tan color and we used a black Behr paint. The finished roof looks beautiful.

It looks brand new. Behr claims it will not extend the life of the roof or prevent leaks, but after applying it, I think is has to extend the life of the roof and fill areas that might leak. It takes some practice to get a nice even painted surface.

Using different techniques will generate a different finish. We tried a brush, different rollers and will be using a sprayer. Different painters got different results. We got the best results painting in horizontal rows following the shingle tiles.

IšverstiShow in original languageGetting my #2022herbgarden ready with my mom and I decided to add some color to it. Since we are using an outdoor garden bed I went ahead and looked for a color that I could use on wood and outside.

I thought it was going to be easy. I thought I was going to buy a wood stain and that would be it but noooo. Not at all. Almost all those wood stains I looked at were for indoors. I never thought, only indoors.

Then while looking for something else I came across this Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X Ultra Cover in French Blue and decided to try it out. I am so glad I did. The color is beautiful. It was so easy to use.

Much easier than I thought actually. Just spray evenly at the project and it worked for us. It did not dripped at all which I loved and best if all not only is it for wood it is for outside as well. Oh I am forgetting something else great, it is a 2-1 product meaning it is a primer and paint in one.

So I don’t have to buy or do an extra step before painting. Now, next step planting my herb garden there, jejeje Now, just one thing, the color tagged might not be the exact French Blue I used but it is the same product.

I was thrilled with the results and the brilliant red I chose looked amazing with the birch trees and branch arrangement in a rectangular box on my porch – neighbours were surprised to see them and several commented on the colour.

The pumpkins were initially a brilliant yellow – and when spray painted lasted for several weeks after hallowe’en – a great transition to the winter season. I would do this again! Just make sure your spray paint area is covered up really well!!.

IšverstiShow in original languageGot this to paint and brighten up a patio swing we picked up at a yard sale. Sprays on nice, if you do it right there are no runs or drips, but like any spray paint – get too close and it’ll give you a run and drip.

Sad thing about spray paints is that when painting something such as this swing and it has small/narrow legs and supports, it feels like you’re wasting a lot of paint due to to the overspray. It certainly did brighten up from a dull brownish grey to a bright sunshine yellow.

Time will tell how it stands up in the long run, but looks good so far.

I think this is a good company so i do feel bad saying something negative. But i feel like i have to. I was very excited to try something lower toxic for my kids furniture. I mixed up the plum color and the strong ammonia smell was to intense to deal with.

I thought it was supposed to be low odor, by wow burn your eyeballs strong! (Im really not being dramatic) The consistency also was weird, like smearing uneven mud on the dresser. I powered through hoping it would be alright, but it did not look good.

After it dried i figured i would just sand it down to try something else, but sanding it the ammonia smell was now in a dust cloud everywhere! Even dry the stink is wild. The dresser is pretty much ruined as i can not sand it all off.

I didn’t even attempt to use the mocha color i also bought. I did however use the clear topcoat sealer on a pine wall which i liked. It did not have the ammonia smell. This milkpaint was a disappointment.

I ordered this paint for a chicken coop project because it’s non-toxic and quick drying. My pullets were already living in the coop so I needed a paint that was safe. It took a little time and muscle to get it mixed and prepared, (I did the mixing by hand) but I think it looks great.

(it was a little on the foamy side, but still worked just fine) I’m extremely happy with the results. I ordered barn red for the exterior and soft white for the interior. The barn red paint even covered the blue on the small addition without any problem.

The white on the inside looks fabulous and really helped to brighten it up. This will also help with cleaning. It’s only been painted for about 2 weeks and so far still looks great. We’ll see how good it looks after it goes through the first Kentucky winter ;).

Using this type of paint for the first time was rather interesting. Getting the thickness (viscosity) proper required a bit of “fettling”. This is a positive in that I could see situations where adjusting viscosity would be needed.

The paint itself covered well and I am very impressed with the finish. I will be ordering more for other projects. I love the fact it is low/non toxic and cleans up with plain water. I look forward to trying a number of your other products too.

versatile paint product. can be spread on with brush or sprayed on and will look good and last. but like anything that needs to be painted a good prep job needs to be done first or you are wasting your time.

Your customer service, pricing and free shipping are great. Unfortunately your shipper and or packaging are not good. It took three times to send the same item before it finally arrived without damage.

I ordered the paint b/c I could not find satin paint for bathroom walls in my community. When I took the ACE purchased paint to my local store for tinting, I noticed that it was semi-gloss, the paint that had been in stock locally.

So, it was a wasted purchase and 50+ mile trip. I should have looked, but I assumed that the ordered paint was the one received.

We decided to try Lick to redecorate the whole of our 2 bed flat (roughly 900 sq ft). We bought 8 cans of paint in total which mostly did the trick. We needed 2 coats of paint everywhere. Things we loved: -The samples.

So simple. Perfect match. Easily peeled on and off the wall and moved around the house. -The selection. A million paint samples is overwhelming, Lick has already curated a perfect blend of stunning trendy colours for you, so you don’t have to spend days choosing the perfect white, they’ve done that for you.

-Branding. Sexy right? Super cute and very appealing to the eye. Things we didn’t like: – Price. I mean come on, 8 cans wound up costing us £304. All in all the paint is nice, rolls on well and gets good coverage but is not some magical mixture that makes it twice as valuable as most other market paints.

– We weren’t sure how much we needed so wound up having to order 2/3 times, which made the wait to get paint quite frustrating. We also had some delays on our order so we wound up waiting 5 days to receive our second order when we were in the middle of the painting.

The flat was left a tip of course as we couldn’t put everything away until the job was done. – The tin itself, is cute. Lovely little handle. But the spout it worse than your average paint tin. Honestly, this didn’t bug us tremendously, but other reviews commented on how great the spout was, so thought it was worth highlighting.

All in all, we wouldn’t use Lick again unless we were doing a very small job i. e painting a set of drawers etc. It’s far easier and more economical for larger jobs, to pop down to your local paint shop to get what you need.

We were super excited to try the Lick product as I love your colours and everyone has been raving about how easy and well it applies. We found this wasn’t the case. First layer was very patchy. It took 3 layers to create a unified build up and admittedly the finished application looks great and has a beautiful matt quality but we found ourselves feeling lucky that it was only a small room we were painting and that we were only painting to a certain height.

I am extremely happy with the colour and cannot wait to get the room dressed as i know it is going to look spectacular and has really changed the entire feel of my basement guestroom / home office. We are just slightly underwhelmed with the actual painting experience after hearing so much hype.

I love the colours. The stick-on samples are brilliant; nice size and easy to move around different walls. Samples match the paint 100%. No unpleasant smell. Excellent coverage. So far I have used Lick paint in three rooms, and am deciding on colours for the next two rooms and the hallway!.

Covers well and looks great. Specialty thick paint.

Well I wanted it to work well as the dark gray color is very pretty and it looked great. Unfortunately, I think you also need to purchase the sealer and the instructions weren’t clear about that. Sadly it chipped pretty quickly and easily so we ended up buying a dormice cover to place over it.

This is by far the best paint I have used. I wanted to paint a dark wall in the rv. Covered beautifully. My sister painted her whole 5th wheel, she likes change, and she loves it also. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth it!.

I love that it’s only a 2 coat step to cover the wood. I like the sheen it leaves on my trim. It’s perfect. I’m changing all my polyurethane woodwork to white. It’s worth every penny.

We painted one of our rooms with the country white. It looks ok but now every time it his humid or we open the windows on a nice day, it has a horrible smell like a cat pee smell. And we don’t even have a cat.

I contacted the company and the only thing they said is to paint over it with bin and then re paint over that. Would not even refund or pay for the bin and new paint. Read other reviews saying they had the same problem with the smell.

Would not recommend and will not buy again. A frustrating experience overall.

I normally do not do reviews on line but, this sparked me to give one. I do not know what Glidden is doing to their paint. I have never had a problem until I used this particular paint. This has got to be the worst paint I have purchased from Glidden , EVER !! I have read other reviews on other web sites with the same problem.

I figured must have been bad preparation or have never painted before. Well , I was wrong I purchased the High endurance with primer custom color. Does not hide on first coat. Do not re- roll once you put it on.

The walls were light pale blue eggshell , and spot pre primed after repairs made, and it will sporadically pull off of the existing paint and primer re-rolling over it. You can not even roll in different directions spreading out the paint and roller lines without it pulling off after it sits about a minute while rolling out the wall.

I know what Glidden will say bad preparation, bad roller cover , or something on the wall to cause the pulling. Well Glidden PVA drywall primer latex was used as a primer over drywall repairs , walls sanded scratch coat to remove dust and dirt previously painted over , washed down with warm soapy water , dried 24 hrs and painted.

Used a Wooster 3/8 nap roller cover. I have spent the last 40 years as a home improvement contractor painting with many products. From the very expensive to the bottom line paints. I was stuck because I ran out of Behr , so I purchased this paint.

Behr was definitely a one coat no pulling off the wall paint no matter how may times you rolled over it. My camera is broken on my phone or I would have given pictures. Sorry ! I am very dissatisfied with Glidden now.

Almost $ 60. 00 dollars wasted on 2 Gallons of paint and a trip to Home Depot now an hour away.

My life long love affair with Farrow and Ball paint is over unfortunately. Their gloss paint used to be absolutely amazing in terms of quality and even if you weren’t that clever a painter this stuff made your interior woodwork look wonderful and I have never had to repaint.

This new oil free stuff is terrible and I feel they have a cheek to charge people the amount they do – after two undercoats with their own brand and three coats of gloss I’ve given up the will to live because my skirting boards look awful and I just cant be bothered to rub them down and paint them anymore! They look like I’ve painted them with nail varnish! This will be another company that goes down the tubes unless they sort this out.

I’ve been using and advocating F&B for over 30 years, justifying the price because the quality is so good. Not anymore. What a shame.

10 years of using Farrow and ball. I have wood panelling throughout my home. I wouldn’t use anything else. Yes compare to delux and cheaper brands which this can not be compared to because it is made by totally paint geniuses! All white has totally no pigment at all which creates its superior whiteness.

I have used their emulsion too for the same time frame and they are also the same. Comparing this to silicon well tbh It’s like comparing a Aston Martin to a KA.

Dries far too quickly. I used it on spindles and found that if you put it on thinly it leaves lines but put it on more thickly and it dribbles down but you can’t blend in the drips without scuffing the paint because its drying so quickly.

I tried different brushes, I tried stirring it for ages, my husband had a go with it but always the same problems. We gave up after 2 spindles and returned it. I’ve had to re-sand the spindles that I used this paint on.

Also, it claims to be a ‘soft, sympathetic’ shade of white but I would describe it as stark white.

Thought unfinished wood would be perfect for this paint. Got the satin so I wouldn’t have to wax it. I was assured by the store that I would need a quart for this little project. After I paid about $50 for one quart, the staff person said “you will want to sand and prime it first.

” Huh??? I thought that was the point of this paint?? Well, I didn’t sand or prine and it covered perfectly and looks great with 2 coats. Didnt use even a quarter of the can. Decided to use it on a 1940s nightstand.

Just had an old stain on it. Ink, water stains…needed a recovery. Cleaned with detergent and wiped clean to dry. Paint WILL NOT COVER. All the ink doodles, water stains, everything shows through after 3 coats.

I wanted to paint an IKEA bare pine fold-down desk. I used this alongside clear wax and black wax to recreate the ‘warehouse look’ from one of Annie Sloanes tutorial videos. Worked perfectly and I am extremely pleased with the results.

The paint is very thick so coverage is great. In the summer it would probably need watering down a little. The colour is beautiful and I was almost tempted to leave it unfinished!.

I got a great color on the wall. The paint does not leave a bad smell after painting. It dries quickly. A pleasure to work with products from La Di Da! I highly recommend it!

Used the BM paint to do the doors on our total kitchen remodel. Extremely satisfied with this product.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe chose paint based on colors rather than brand, so I did our upper cabinets in a Behr white, and lower cabinets in Benjamin Moore Advance in Windmill Wings (pale blue).

The difference in quality was immediately evident, with Advance absolutely blowing the Behr paint out of the water. The best part of this paint is the leveling. There isn’t a single roller mark or brush mark anywhere.

It was also super easy to sand in between coats, which made the finish even better. The Behr paint required 3-4 coats and still showed roller marks and brush marks. To be fair, the Behr one cures completely in 7 days, while the Advance takes 21.

However, as long as you don’t have toddlers crashing into cabinets in a kitchen roller derby, you can hang the doors as soon as they are dry and they will continue to cure. I was originally disappointed that the reapplication time was a whopping 16 hours, which meant I was only doing one coat a day, so two coats on the back and two on the front of each door took me 4 days.

However, the finish is so fantastic that it was totally worth the delay, and actually made me feel way less pressured than I would have to push through and do all the coats in one day. If you have the time, this was by far the superior finish, required fewer coats, and made for a least stressful project.

It seemed easy to apply at first, but it’s temperamental in humid weather. Hard to keep a wet edge. I used a shade of white on my uppers and that covered nicely in two coats. I chose a medium blue / gray shade for the lowers and it seemed much thinner.

The darker shade is not durable. It rubs right off edges or any spot that needs a little scrubbing. With 2 kids using the kitchen I’m touching up bald spots fairly often. (it was painted over a year ago.

) Probably needs a clear coat to protect the paint. The white uppers seems to be wearing better, but I’m noticing the paint beginning to crack. I miss oil based paints.

Would definitely consider NOT using Miramar again for my paint needs – which is a lot since I have a painting company. Thankfully there are a million other place to buy paint from. Who needs Miramar? Not me.
