IšverstiShow in original languageJack Daniels used to be all the rage when I was younger. But as time goes on you realise it’s not the most special drink in the world. It’s a typical American whisky.

Would be a bourbon but I don’t believe it’s made in the right state. If only they tried to do something different. I guess they do have there charcoal filtering but that’s about it really. Nothing special, can probably find the same quality of drink for cheaper else where.

I received this set as a gift and have sampled whisky both cold and at room temperature. I’ve used 2 small cubes of ice. I’ve used an eye dropper to “open up” the palate of the whisky. I have only had whisky over ice a few times and have found cold to be the enemy of flavor.

This glass is great at room temperature for the nose and as well for the palate and it has reinforced my love of scotch.

If you buy into this garbage, I’ll seel ya bridge you will LOVE. Don’t get mw wrong, this is a very nice take on the classic Tulip design. And, the chilling base is different if you need that. But this glass does NOTHING for the spirit, beyond the character of the basic tulip shape.

I kind of like this glass, except for the logo. I don’t do any logo-ware in my establishment. Don’t be duped by marketing and flat out lies. It’s a nice enough looking glass. If you like it, buy it because you like it.

And not because it’s “designed for the subtleties of the spirit. That’s total malarkey.

I am not the main user of the whiseky tasting glass but have used it myself twice and did notice a complete difference in flavours. Definitely get the full effect of what the flavours are in the scotch I tried once in it and then an Irish whiskey I tried in it.

But you need to time the drink of it, 30 mins wait. So plan ahead!.

I ordered Clout Bourbon Barrel aged coffee some time ago and was immediately hooked on not only the intense aroma, but the fact that that aroma carried over into the taste. I have been a barrel aged coffee aficionado for some time and have come across too many “wannabes” that promise the intense flavor but once brewed, disappoint tremendously.

So, I ordered Clout’s Rum Barrel aged coffee and was blown away- again by the aroma and wonderfully intense flavor. Once I found out that Clout offered a whiskey barrel aged, I knew this had to be my next purchase.

Who’d a thunk such a fantastic barrel brew could come from the heart of the great plains. Carole is the consummate roaster and business owner and I am hooked on Clout. Looking forward to an Irish Whiskey and/or Rye blend soon.

Coffee tastes pretty good. I like the low oil that helps keep my acid reflux down. Only thing with this whiskey part is it seems kind of weird drinking it in the morning and has a very strong smell of whiskey when brewing.

I think it would be great for an afternoon coffee. Overall, a very clean, fresh taste.

This coffee is amazing! I drink my coffee black and the second I open the bag I can smell the whisky. It smells and tastes delicious. Fantastic customer service! I had a misunderstanding with my order and Carole took care of me.

Bought this for hubby for father’s day, he loved it! This is a tasting glass so beware, if you enjoy whiskey with ice because of the taste of it then you will get little use. If you’re a neat drinker these will be your best friend! I’m assuming judging by the name though it’s really suited for whiskey tasting, it’s amazing how incredible and different whiskey tastes in these glasses and it removes that burn! Highly recommend it for the whiskey lovers!.

The aroma was so tempting. I could not brew a cup of coffee for a few days, but it was well worth the wait. The bourbon aroma comes through strongly in the actual flavor – really nice! I love this coffee.

Before this sampler pack, I was only familiar with JW Red and Black (and preferred Black, of course). The sampler pack includes JW Black, Gold, Platinum and Blue, with Blue being the (arguable) benchmark for blended Scotch.

I greatly enjoyed the samples, and I even performed a ‘blind’ taste test by asking my wife to pour some of each into marked shot glasses and comparing notes on my preference. I found that my ranking descending from best was Platinum, Gold, Black then Blue.

Platinum is an absolute delight (my notes said “like drinking a smoky rainy day”) while Blue was so smooth I found it lacked character. I highly recommend the sample pack for those looking to explore one of the most popular brands of blended Scotch.

I was looking for a Johnny Walker gift set for my husband, and found that this was the cheapest place to buy his gift set. It was super easy ordering and came right away. I will definitely shop here again.

Terrible customer service. I received this gift set with one of the four bottles damaged and they suggested that the suitable solution was for them to reimburse me for the damaged bottle. I didn’t agree with that being that this was a set and these bottles can’t be purchased individually.

I only asked that the set be reshipped since I was giving it as a gift. According to them weather in the Northeast region do not permit. The only other solution in my opinion would be to refund the entire amount and not 25% of the purchase price.

I’m stuck with 3/4 of a gift set and I have to purchase it all over again. Next time I will shop elsewhere and I would suggest you do the same to avoid the headache.

Blending whisky is as much an art as it is a science. There is not likely to be a armistice in the war of (sometimes unnecessarily heated) opinion between single malt purists and lovers of blends. Without getting too philosophical in a whisky review, I think taking an extreme stance on any polarizing issue tends to leave one unable to appreciate the many shades of grey to be found in between.

I happen to be a person who enjoys both concrete and abstract concepts, so I rarely find a conflict between art and science when it comes to my own personal enjoyment. Simply stated, a good blend can hold a wonder all its own independent of the intrigue of a well-crafted single malt.

And Johnnie Walker Black Label just so happens to be a very good blend.

Very smooth. Does not have any hangover for the next day. Worth the money. Expectations were met after purchase of the bottle. Packaging could be worked on better , but was fine. Taste wise, it doesn’t beat any other whisky.

Would definitely recommend this whisky.

I’m not usually into the movie/tv promotion gimmick branding, but I’m glad I took the chance on this one. This has a bit more heft than plain ol Bushmills. on the nose it was a bit light, but from there it only gets better, a nice true Irish malty coating on the tongue without any discernible alcohol bite, from there it has a very smooth vanilla finish which leaves a creamy like after taste that could be described as dessert.

If you like Irish whiskey, give it a try, the price is reasonable and if you don’t like it, you can send it to me. LOL.

I found this preferable to the 10 year which is absolute bollocks in my opinion. This has added complexity with the Sherry and oak combination. Honeyed cereal in the forefront but with an edge from the youthness of the dram.

Finish is satisfyingly sweet with a bite from the oak after a few seconds. It’s quite nice. This makes me wanna give Bushmills another chance especially the older range like the 21. 83/100.

So I’ve been a huge fan of Makers Mark since I was given my first bottle when I got home from my first deployment from Iraq. It was the USMC Camp pendleton addition one, Since then it’s been my go to whenever I’m out with friends.

I personally drink a “Maker’s stone sour” which is obviously a Markers sour but with a splash of orange juice. Please try it if you haven’t! I’ve now been to the distillery twice! Both times have been awesome! Anyways can’t wait for my barrel to be done so I can come back and get some from it!.

From the bottle: Sweet and mellow. Malt, fruit, caramel, honey, herbal, vanilla, ex-bourbon cask influence. Neat, in the glass: Heavy malt with overpowering ABV that shuts off most other notes. This is probably not designed to be nosed neat.

One of the most recognisable whisky brands in the world, this family owned distillery continues to successfully produce and market quality scotch. Nose Thin caramel accompanies strong vanilla notes. Newly fallen apples, mown grass and a little white chocolate round off what is a very pleasant experience.

Palate The caramel thickens up, helped by a somewhat oily mouthfeel. Bitter, not quite ripened apples add bite to an otherwise gentle and uncomplex palate. Finish Fresh Vanilla and apples are all that are left, the finish lingers a little but could not be called anymore than short.

IIt’s very agreeable but lacks the complexity to keep me coming back. A great choice for newbies or anyone looking for a daily dram. Cheers.

I love this one. It tasted so delicious and has such a smooth tasted. Without an after taste. I really like this brand. Also the bottle is very beautiful. All three.

One of the best all-around whiskies, it has something for all experience levels. If you’re new to whiskey, this is a classic place to start since it has no alcohol legs, has tasting notes anyone can find and finishes well.

It’s a great whiskey to learn on and everyone I’ve shared it with can find the flavor notes. On the nose, it’s rich but delicate: sweet with bread dough that opens to light caramel, very open and with floral notes.

No alcohol smell. On the palate, fine: a touch of bread dough opens to fresh pear (both flesh and skin), floral notes, a little oak, and finishes with that light caramel. ZERO burn. The florals make it a super summer whiskey, but the pear and caramel notes make it a fine autumnal libation, too.

It’s great in coffee (esp your sweeter tea-like Kenyan and Ethiopian varietals), sips very well, pairs well with many cheeses and even works when enjoyed with a bowl of fresh fruit.

I received a discounted price for ‘s very tasty whisky from #influenster! This drink was so smooth and I was not expecting the rich taste to be honest. Jack Daniels is my go-to whisky but if you’re a fan of Jack Daniels you’ll definitely love this drink because it doesn’t have that sugary taste afterwards that Jack gives you.

But it’s not as harsh as a Jamison or original Jack. It’s a perfect blend! The price was a bit more than Jack but still in a good price range for quality whisky! I would purchase again!.

The moment this nectar hit my husbands lips he sighed aghhhh so smooth. No burn just silk! This Irish whiskey didn’t disappoint. It has hints of vanilla and apple. Price tag is a great range. Loved the look of the label and bottle too.

HoV’s review below pretty well nails it. Palette is ambiguous, other than the mild scent of grain spirits. Palette is equally simplistic, with an initial spiciness followed by an inoffensive corn-whiskey sweetness.

Not bad whisky, by any standard, but not at all complex, either. For those who are old enough to remember, this is what JD “Old No. 7” (“Black Label”) tasted like 15-20 years ago, before the brand began watering down its flavor in order to make it acceptable to non-whisky drinkers.

Purchased as a gift for a whiskey connoisseur. The gift package with Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select whiskey and Glencairing Crystal snifter glass was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Excellent gift package for any occasion.

Great if you are a fan of highland whisky. The info is wrong, you only get 4 x 50mL small bottles, enough for a dram of each but you really get to know the portfolio of what Glenmorangie has to offer without spending a ton.

I the box could be a bit better but it makes for a good gift for anyone who is into scotch. I will give you my impressions of the four inside: The Lasanta (Sherry Cask Finish) – very good and sweet, not as sweet and not smoky at all.

The Quinta Ruban (Port Cask Finish) – sweeter than the Lasanta but has a nice finish. Not my favorite but good notes of fruits in the end. The Nectar d’Or (Sauternes Cask) – has honey sweetness but to me it has some kind of harash finish.

I think if it was 15 years it would be better Original – Best one of them all, no additional flavourings needed. My Fav!.

It’s the 2018 Sampler and doesn’t match the current virtual tasting. The Scotch was good, but you only get 50% of the benefits of the lecture as only 2 of the bottles matched. Still a great gift, but fails if you’re doing the virtual tasting.

I think sampler pack is a great way to taste the product without buying the full size bottle. Wish all and higher end offerings would be readily available in taster size. I am somewhat hesitant to spend a few hundred bucks on a bottle of spirit that I never tried before.

As of Glenmorangie, I didn’t really like any of those. The Glenmorangie Original is the best out of all four, but I am not a big fun of it either. Will stick to my all time favorite brands: Glenlivet, Highland Park and Glenfiddich.

Don’t know where it got haggis but my name is Tom Cole and I’ve been drinking EZra for at least 30 years. Used to drink 100 proof Old Bourbon Hollow but couldn’t find it anymore in Washington State and then I got old so backed off to 90 proof Ezra.

They used to give out baseball caps and I still have one. I guess I don’t have any taste because I’ve tried other bourbons and Ezra does it for me. I really like it.

Crown royal is my “go to” adult beverage. I love how smooth and versatile it is. It tastes great on the rocks, with soda or juice, or in a cocktail. My favorite is a royal flush. It is 2 ounce of crown royal, 1/2 ounce of peach schnapps, 4 ounces of cranberry juice, and 1/2 ounce of razzmatazz or another raspberry liquor.

If you can’t find a raspberry liquor, use cranberry raspberry juice as the mixer instead of plain cranberry juice.

I went through a Crown Royal phase that lasted about 2 years. During the first part of that I was drinking the standard Crown Royal until one time I saw the Reserve and decided to try it out. It wasn’t long before I switched to always drinking Reserve because it’s really truly that much better.

There is quite a price jump but well justified in this case. I would highly recommend this to any fan of Crown Royal. The Reserve is notably smoother, with an even clean finish; they turned up a lot of what makes Crown great in the first place.

Really my only complaint about Crown Reserve is that, now that I have branched out to trying more whiskey, there are plenty other whiskeys I like as much or better around the same price or cheaper. I debated myself whether to knock off a star for this, but I decided not to.

It’s good, and definitely a night and day improvement over regular Crown that any Crown drinker will appreciate, but IMHO there are better bottles in the price range.

I guess you could say I am a social drinker. If I am out to dinner with other people and alcoholic drinks are being ordered I usually order what most people would say a girly drink. Anyways I was pleasantly surprised when I was at a house party just recently and somebody brought me a drink.

It was whiskey and coke, I looked at my friend and made a face because normally I hate whiskey. To be polite I started to sip on my drink and I couldn’t believe it because I actually liked it. I think you would say it was so smooth that I liked it.

I even asked what type of whiskey it was. I needed to know what whiskey could actually change my mind about my previous opinion on it. It turned out to be Crown Royal, I even purchased some for my home liquor cabinet.

I would say Crown Royal is exceptional if it can make a person who would only drink girly drinks in the past due to having awful reactions to other whiskey and then turn into someone who now would drink whisky.

But only if it is Crown Royal of course!.

This is the smoothest single I have in my massive collection. Smooth and mellow from start to finish. Reviewed in a Glencaren-style glass. (Is there any other way??????) NOSE: Fruit such as apples and pears carry thru.

Just a hint of wood. No strong alchhol, but this is only 40% ABV whisky. ENTRY PALLET: Again smooth and satisfying with hints of fruit and wood but NO smoke or peat. Excellent blend of enjoyable flavors follow down the tongue.

AFTER: Long after taste of apples, slight spice, wood, and a hint of leather and tobacco linger on the tongue for several minutes. No alcohol after taste or burn. 2-3 DROPS (!) of water open up the flavor tremendously.

DO NOT drowned it, please! All in all, this golden bottle is an excellent dram and I would recommend it to anyone starting out exploring scotch or seasoned consumers that enjoy an excellent relaxing sipper that will not dissolve your fillings or burn out your tonsils!!!!.

I bought this on a whim being at a price I could just stop drinking and hand over to someone else. I was pleasantly surprised. Having not had a whisky single malt in a while first sip was slightly harsh, after that was as smooth as.

Hasn’t happened again. I drink my scotches neat, no ice, no water.

Nice fruity nose. Also, the empty glass fills the room with a beautiful fruity and honey-sweet aroma. I’d love to know what this would taste like at 43% ABV or higher. I suppose 40% helps keep it at this price point.

I’ll just say that at this price I’m happy enough with it to keep a bottle around.

I tasted this next to four other whiskeys of the same price, and it tastes remarkably similar to Jameson. They go through a very similar barreling for this one so it makes sense. If you like Jameson, you’ll like this, and Ive even seen it cheaper in some places.

Out of Bushmills Black, red and white I put it in the middle. Not as harsh as the black but not as smooth as the white. I’ll drink it but prefer Tullamore Dew and Jameson.
