20 Best Whiskey For No Hangover (2023 Updated)

I bought this today and opened it this afternoon. This is an exceptionally good, budget blended whiskey. The flavor profile reminded me of Canadian club 12 yr. A rich and buttery. creamy mouthfeel for an 80 proof whiskey that was amazing.

This far exceeded my expectations.

Bought this due to the reviews. Had to find out for myself. “How much for what? Come again??” For young whiskey it’s really good. You get the vanilla, you get a little spice but still pretty smooth. It even has a cork top.

lol No American whiskey for the money can beat it. Plus you donate to Folds Of Honor. It’s my new go to American whiskey.

Picked this up a few weeks ago more for the John Rich name then anything else. Finally got to taste it over the weekend. This will easily become my go to whiskey moving forward. Great tasting straight and really smooth mixed with ginger beer.

The price is fantastic for such a great tasting whiskey.

This is good old fashioned American whiskey. It tastes good, not to strong, straight up on ice or in a mixed drink. It’s not the second best selling whiskey in America for no reason. If you don’t like it you just don’t like American whiskey.

Just so you know, it is NOT Bourbon. Darn near every American farmer drinks this stuff, I’ve told you so, now stay told! Harley Davidson forever.

I honestly can’t recall when I started drinking Kessler but it’s been at least 25+ years and it has never changed nor disappointed. I know others are quite critical of “the cheap stuff” and I can tell you, I used to drink Bourbon Deluxe in my younger days at $4.

50 a fifth (when they were sold in “fifths”). that’s cheap stuff. But as for my taste Kessler is smooth and satisfying. Yeah, I’ve had many high-end whiskeys that my discriminating friends swear is the only whiskey they will allow to enter their system.

Fine, enjoy your high end stuff, I LOVE Kessler at $15/1. 75L. can’t beat it with a caveman’s club! But yeah, I do also drink other mid to higher end sippin’ whiskeys (single malt scotch/irish, Woodford, Bulleit, Col Taylor, Knob Creek) and other liquors (tequila, vodka, gin, grain/shine, etc), but for my daily shot or two, KESSLER is KING!!!.

Kessler really is as smooth as their slogan suggests. This is a blended whiskey, containing nearly three quarters neutral grain spirit, which means vodka. There is literally no difference between diluted neutral spirit and vodka.

Don’t write it off for this reason, though. It is still well worth trying, and blended whiskies can be as good as straight whiskies if done right. Kessler is lightly flavored due to the dilution and the predominant flavor is of a classic bourbon whiskey, but lighter and more easygoing.

If you like bourbon, but the flavor can be a bit strong for you, or if you are looking for a more lightly flavored substitute for bourbon, Kessler is your answer. It is easy to drink, tasty, and inexpensive, and can be drunk neat, on ice, or in a mixed drink This would also be an excellent choice for a newcomer wanting to try bourbon or whiskey in general.

It is very inoffensive and soft. I like Kessler but will probably stick to bourbon and single malt Scotch due to my preference of stronger flavors.

You’re probably wondering why on earth, is there a juvenile corn snake on my bottle of Fireball? Why not as this Snakey when younger, he’s now growing, and his colors match the bottle. A fun picture to represent what this beverage is.

Sure Pitbull’s amusing song could be brought up to, but as a fan of reptiles and this drink, let’s combine them! What a different whiskey than any other. 66 proof fireball flavored whiskey is a bit odd.

Some have said that, and I concede it’s not traditional. Yet sometimes it’s good to think outside the box. For those who want a shot of liquor that tastes delicious, yet has some fiery notes to generate a boom type of moment, this is a solid one.

I really do like it on occasions, especially when my buddies are in town. Sure we mix it up, but all dig Fireball. Also the snake is appreciated as he’s Labrador friendly. This doesn’t really pair with a food.

Think of this as a fun alternative. It is very good with a cigar, as the smoke brings up a little bit of that cinnamon surprise back. I would absolutely recommend Fireball. Please though, drink responsibly, and have a designated driver.

One bad decision can affect many. By all means enjoy, and get the DD, or just stay in with this power house.

Fireball is one of my favorite flavored whiskeys! It’s cinnamon spice and everything nice. That has a smooth consistency it’s kind of thick. I wouldn’t serve cold it has an amazing cinnamon flavor almost like big red bubblegum in liquid form.

It also has a little bite to it. You will absolutely know that it is whiskey. I love it with ginger ale,Dr Pepper, cream soda, and also to kick up my Irish coffee.

I tried this during a visit to Nashville. It was recommended by one of the best waiters I have had. He told us the backstory of the name, gave us a sense of its importance, and boy was he dead on. I had to purchase a bottle immediately! I enjoy the smell of the bourbon as it reminds me of caramel, but the taste is, while not particularly deep, has lite spice and just enough heat to be fun! Well worth the price point!.

Celebrated a milestone. After 2nd sip, flavors permeated my palette. Nice sweetness with a maple taste, with hint of other spices and cinnamon. Whiskey is very smooth. Nice color. I prefer neat. I did not experience burn.

Simply pour a glass and leisurely sip. Advertising and marketing is solid. Uncle Nearest 1884 exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend.

We were introduced to this whiskey by friends. This is our second bottle. Listening to sweet jazz sounds and having great conversations with friends. This the best smooth sippin whiskey and is now my number one drink.

The worst whiskey I ever tasted in my 15 year experience. I can’t even say this is a whiskey. Taste like cherry flavoured child cough syrup. Made me puke while tasting it. It is going straight down the sink.

I can’t even look at it. All 5 star reviews are paid or fake. It is very sweet and after taste is horrible and this is garbage. It is making me sick. It is Just my opinion.

My first time tasting southern comfort was a relaxing night out with my friends. I had enough of the taste of beer and the strong burning sensation of vodka, so I decided to experiment with a different drink.

one of my friends recommended Southern comfort and I soon found out why. I ordered a southern comfort with a dash of lemonade as recommended. straight away I was amazed by the taste and aromas of the fruit and spices of the drink which complemented the flavour of the lemonade.

I also tasted it “on the rocks” (with ice only) and I was astonished by the flavour of whiskey that didnt sting the my throat, just tingled my sences with the rich flavour. The alcohol content is 35% which is strong but the product is can be consumed easily and enjoyably “goes down like water”.

If I have to do shots, this is always my first choice. Brings me back to high school for sure. Try and mix it with coke and you get a cherry coke tasting beverage. SoCo is always an affordable option too which is nice (and the reason we drank it when we were broke lol).

So smooth…EVERY person that I have shared this with agrees how smooth and tasty this it ! Even the NON Whiskey drinkers !!! Many have asked me where can they buy it !!!

OK, so I bought this on a whim as I saw a billboard and loved the name. But this “knocked me out”. is actually a great sipping Whiskey as well with very complex flavors hitting you. This is a sleeper and very reasonably priced.

If I am having a bunch of guy’s over who like to chug as opposed to sip and enjoy, this is the bottle I am throwing out on the table first !.

This is a good alternative to EW Bottled in Bond 100 proof which may have a little too much heat for some but I personally enjoy! A great Mixer that holds up well for flavor,a little more Oak coming through and less sweetness than the EW BIB.

There is a place on my shelf for a daily sipper or Mixer here with this juice!.

I bought this after seeing a commercial. I really like Makers Mark but wanted to try this because it’s about $10 less than Makers for the 1. 75 liter bottle. I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth and flavorful it is.

This has become my go to bourbon.

This has got to be the best bourbon for the money. This is a simple, smooth bourbon. But the quality is very good and the finish lasts a long time. This is honest, simple, good whiskey at a good price.

The 1. 5L is the only whiskey I buy anymore. Anything else is a disappointment or a waste of money. This one is the best.

I notice that people seem to be having completely different responses to this whiskey, and it makes me wonder if there are large differences from batch to batch. I did get some burn on the back end, which others didn’t seem to experience.

In addition to the notes in the description, I also got a little bit of menthol on the back. That butterscotch is the first thing that hits me when I sip, followed by some woodiness. IMO, this whiskey was much improved with a little dilution, which tamed the burn and brought that menthol back to more of the vanilla note that is advertised.

I would have rated it lower before I tried diluting it. Diluted, I think it is OK, but you can certainly do better for the money.

Excellent a very flavorful, smooth experience. I was turned on by a friend who recommended a bottle. It did not disappoint. The flavors of vanilla and spice and maple compliments each other nicely. You have to be careful this is 100 proof but by the smoothness you wouldn’t think it was.

Been drinking this for years, then they stopped shipping it to stores for awhile. It’s finally back, and I highly recommend picking up a bottle. Great taste and flavor that goes down smoothly. I drink it straight, on the rocks.

But you can enjoy it however you like. Just enjoy it while you can.

The few was good but not great. A bit harsh and not the palate of great ryes, some of which are even less expensive than few. Not a bad rye, just not a great rye. We tried Gunslinger not expecting much and it was to our taste much better, more great flavors and actually smoother.

For a not expensive rye try it. Our friends who are generally Irish Whiskey drinkers tried both at our home. They felt the same and actually between the two of them finished off our Gunslinger (1/2 the bottle) We still have FEW left.

I love Rye, and man is this one surprising. I had high hopes considering the reviews and price. So glad I took the plunge. FYI, I like intensity with a great balance of complexity. This has it. If you want less “harsh” or little “kick”, you might want to pass.

If you like trying new things, you like kick and depth, do it.

Dis bourbon hails from Evanston, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago; home of Da Bears! There’s a sweetness to this bourbon but it’s not overpowering unlike Sweetness himself who destroyed defenses which you will have none because this 93 proof bourbon is easy to get lost in much like Mitchell Trubisky at the line of scrimmage.

Is it the Ditka of bourbons? Maybe not. It is worth the price of the bottle? Ya darn right! Daaaaa FEW!.

THE best combination of tasty, cheap, and strong. Not gonna gussy it up. This is a spectacular bourbon to sip on after a long day of work. Sit down, pour yourself a glass or two. It’s sweet, but not so much as to be cloying.

Perfect evening relaxation drink. I hear it’s good in cocktails too, but I wouldn’t know. Straight up, or with a little water (Bourbon and Water), it’s plenty good. It’s so cheap, and so tasty. You can’t go wrong for this price.

This is quality at its most accessible. Take advantage of it, if you’re at all curious about bourbons.

Bourbons have come and gone in my household. Cheap bourbons, expensive bourbons, great bourbons, mediocre bourbons, astringent bourbons, sweet bourbons. And I come back to this one every time. It’s the classic.

Ol’ E. Bill is a trustworthy friend who has never let me down yet. Sure, there are more complex drams out there. There are limited editions, barrel-proofs, wheaters, etc. But this friend of mine has a gentle, sweet embrace (slightly smoky and nutty as well) which makes me feel safe in his arms.

For something like $13 you’re getting whiskey most of which is from 5-7 year old barrels. That’s a steal. Though even without the cost factored in, I still think it’s better than most mid-to-bottom-shelf bottles I’ve tried.

Including its older brother, the White in Bond. Maybe not better than a certain 101-proof fowl, but that one costs twice as much and definitely isn’t twice as good. See the dilemma? Evan is a staple.

Heaven Hill needs to leave him the h*ll alone because he’s great just the way he is. At least until I croak; then I won’t care.

I class bourbons as mixers or sippers. Sippers have distinctive flavors that mark the bourbon as unique and preferable, and that may often clash if you mix them with other flavors like bitters or fruits.

Woodford Reserve or Jack Daniels for instance. Mixers are smooth, maybe a bit edgy, but overall not too distinctive. Makers Mark is one of the best mixers, but it’s pricey. Evan Williams is nearly as good for about half the cost.

And, in some ways, it’s better. It’s got a roughness to it that would be a black mark in a scotch but has a certain charm in a bourbon. Try a Makers Mark and a Evan Williams Manhattan or old fashioned.

Both good, but very different.

Took a chance on this based on the positive reviews as I was looking for something equivalent or better than Crown Royal. The positive reviewers must be their employees, paid shills, or have fried taste buds cause Pendleton tastes terrible for it’s price point.

I wish I paid more for Crown Royal or just saved over $20 by getting Canadian Hunter instead. While I am no expert, it has an obvious chemically / rubbing alcohol taste to it. Something I would expect of a cheap bottom shelf booze $20 or under for a 1.

75L. Mixing it does not do much to hide it either. Also it does not have much character to it, it is very plain compared to Crown Royal. Which wouldn’t be a negative if it didn’t have the chemical / rubbing alcohol taste to it on top of being overpriced.

While I find Crown Royal to be a bit pricey for what it is as well, it is still way better than Pendleton and I will say it again, I wish I bought it instead. I am giving it a 1 star because there are way better whiskeys and bourbons around the same price point without the taste of chemicals / rubbing alcohol.

So iv always been a fan of whiskey. If I’m looking to buy a expensive whiskey I usually go for Canada’s greatest/ one of the cheapest bottles! Good drunk good taste doesn’t have the bite American whiskey has which I think is a plus! I think it’s a good drinking to get drunk whiskey!.

I purchased my first bottle a couple of months ago and have been enjoying every since. If you like smooth whiskey without the bite, this is for you. I have drank lots of whiskeys from Crown to Templeton and even high end ones, and for my palate, this is by far the best.

Good with water or good straight up. The aging does it. Just bought a bottle of their 12 rye whiskey, can’t wait to try it too.

I received a sample bottle of this in a shipment today. For reference, in that shipment was a bottle of Jameson Black Barrel, High West Double Rye, High West Rendezvous, Buffalo Trace, and a bottle of Macallan double cask 12 years.

The Jameson Black Barrel, out of all of these, is my favorite. So of course, a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey infused with banana is right up my alley. I tried it, and I must say, that it is the finest banana flavored whiskey I have ever had.

Also the only one, but still true. If I ever wake up 25 years younger, still with a taste for mountain dew, I will certainly choose this over 99 bananas any day of the week. Well, maybe not. I understand, from an economics side, why companies would flavor alcohols like this.

I noticed it with vodkas, then rums. These are meant for younger people, with a higher tolerance for candy. These are not for me. If you make a whiskey (or a vodka or rum) that would be improved by adding flavors used to make jolly ranchers, I don’t want any.

If I want a jolly rancher, I’ll have one. If I want a whiskey, I’ll not be reaching for this.

Was hesitant about buying this because I hate fake banana flavoring. I took a chance and picked up a bottle and I have to say I wish I had done it sooner! This is superb. Slight sweet syrupy real banana flavoring right off the bat with a ultra smooth finish.

I 100% did not expect how delicious this would be especially for how cheap it is. 10/10.

I think this tastes great for what it is. Easy drinking with heaps of flavor. For my palate it’s just too much sweet flavor though. I’d imagine this would work very well in lots of cocktail options. If you like this at first, you’ll probably end up loving it.

I just don’t see it staying in my personal rotation.

Listen to me I’ve bartended a long time and I know when a whiskey deserves to be purchased. One sniff of this stuff and it’s game over. They have managed to pack pure MAGIC into this stuff it is incredibly rich and beautifully elegant.

Must own.

Tried this particular whiskey at the Kavalan distillery when I was in Taiwan several years ago. So glad to be able to find this here in the states.

This is a stunningly enjoyable whisky. If you want to enjoy the “liquor of the gods” this is it.

We did the tasting and then had reservations to eat. The staff member who did our tasting was knowledgeable and personable- he was super accommodating when I requested to try a different liquors from the rest of our group.

Our waiter was amazing – he was very attentive and gave great recommendations. Everything we tried was incredible (loved the mushrooms…and the broccoli…and the chicken and dumplings…. ) and the drinks we great too.

Icing on the cake was the free shuttle that picked us up then took us back home. Definitely recommend!!!.

This is a shockingly good bourbon for the price. One I keep on hand for sharing purposes, especially for folks new to bourbon or not really looking for something strong. This is a smooth drinking, flavorful bourbon.

The new Port Cask Finished version of this is very good as well.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Barn Pavilion and it was the best experience we could have dreamed of! The staff was incredibly kind, the venue was beautiful, and the food/drinks were unbelievable! Everyone kept talking about how delicious the meal was- the cornbread & mac n cheese were highlights.

Highly recommend this place!.
