20 Best Whey Protein For Men’S Weight Loss (2023 Updated)

This is probably one of the 5 reviews that isn’t apart of a promotion lol. This is my first time ever trying whey protein in my life and this surpassed my expectations. I always thought whey protein was chalky and grainy but this is soooooo good and smooth.

When mixed with literally just alsmon milk (200mL 1 scoop of protein) it tastes JUST like Ensure lol. I didn’t even mix it in a blender bottle I just added the milk and protein powder to a water bottle shook it vigorously a few times and wala.

No lumps, grainyness, or chalkiness. It also tastes really good in my berry smoothie. Berry Smoothie: (1 1/2 cup of almond milk, 1 cup of frozen strawberries, 1 cup of frozen blueberries, 1 cup of frozen berry medley, 1 scoop of protein powder) super creamy and delicious.

Its super inexpensive compared to other protein and even though it doesn’t have that many grams of protein its enough for me right now I just started taking it yesterday so I will continue to track how it helps with muscle support and how my body digests it but so far so good! Buy it! Especially if you’re just starting out with protein – its a good way to build yourself up to protein powders that have more grams of protein in it.

I’ve used this several times because it’s been recommended by several friends and can easily be found at Costco. I only use the chocolate flavored one as I don’t care for any of their other flavors. However, I’ve started and stopped using this several times because I don’t think whey sits well with my GI tract.

It upsets my tummy in all sorts of ways (gas, bloating, upset stomach). I stopped using it for a while to try other protein alternatives, to which I have the same or similar experiences. I just think my body doesn’t do well with protein powders.

But if they work for you, this is a pretty decent one to have.

Taste 9. 5/10I’ve tried Vanilla Caramel, Chocolate Cookie and Banana Marshmallow and all taste so darn delicious, but my favorite has to be Vanilla Caramel.

Protein 9/10This is where this product shines as it’s got 25g of protein per serving. It has 4 different types of protein which in turn gives multiple absorption rates. Overall 9/10Overall I loved this product as it doesn’t have an exaggerated amount of carbs or fat, but great protein content.

Love that there’s not too many calories per serving. Flavor 10/10This is where this protein freaking really truly shines! It really does taste like a peanut butter ice cream bar. Added some sugar free chocolate syrup and boom swear it tasted like a freaking Reese’s Ice Cream Bar.

Mixability 6/10This is where I found the most trouble and issue with this protein. No matter whether I mixed in Fairlife, almond or cashew milk it still left perfectly untouched protein powder. I even tried in a spider bottle, blender bottle and smart shaker and the same problem.

Used 8 oz, 10 oz and 12 oz for 1 scoop with still the same outcome.

I just bought this about a couple weeks ago,due to hard times and couldn’t buy the preferred protien I usually do. It’s okay. It taste suspect,but I didn’t have any side effects from digestion I usually get with other protein powders and my body seemed to acclimate to it.

When times get tough again,I can say it’s not a bad go to. ITS OKAY.

I posted a review on 06/17/21 for the dutch chocolate protein powder and tried to see if I could add/edit but doesn’t give the option. Anyways, that flavor was not pleasant for me at all no matter the different methods of consumption.

Literally a couple of days after posting the review a member from Legion contacted me so they can send me a replacement powder (so sweet of them). The process of receiving a replacement was so quick, and easy.

I seriously appreciate it and am a true witness of the guarantee claimed by Legion, I was not expecting them to do that. Now on the Cinnamon Cereal flavor. … my God! It’s delicious. Literally a treat!.

I have a Blendjet so all I did was put in a scoop of cinn. cereal powder w/extra creamy oat milk, spun it, and made the most delicious smoothie. It was sooo smooth! The flavor was sweet but not overbearing, was literally a treat.

No protein taste after nor protein grainy feeling in the mouth/throat. Seriously perfect I was shook about how good it tastes and am excited to use it in oats, French toast, pancakes, etc. highly highly recommend, especially with the oat milk.

Flavor & texture is perfect.

All of the other proteins supplements that I have tried taste like… well, like things that I can’t mention here. The chocolate flavor of this product is actually just like drinking a milkshake when I mix it with one percent milk and use my immersion blender to get rid of all the lumps.

Great flavor and very very filling. Certainly not the leanest protein. Lots of carbs but this profile will work for most people. The flavor is incredible. Very tasty and goes really well with Fairlife milk.

Overall I am pleased with the flavor, the mixability and the value. This is a great price for the amount of protein you are getting.

I previously gave them a bad review. This is because of their deceptive labeling. The container says 60 grams of protein per serving. But that is for 2 servings, not 1 scoop. So just like most of the other protein powders sold it has 30 grams of protein per scoop.

Using 2 scoops is not only twice the cost, but the taste would be off unless you are drinking a quart size drink. However, to me it’s the best tasting of the protein powders that I have tried. As a matter of fact if you make it with coconut water, frozen fruit, some avocado for creaminess, and cinnamon it’s actually really delicious.

I add collagen powder too for hair, nails, and skin. Their protein isolate version of this product is a healthier more effective type of protein, but costs much more and does not taste nearly as good.

This is not organic if that’s important to you. But they use artificial sweetener not sugar – if you are watching the sugar and are cutting back on carbs. There is an unusual (to me) instruction on the package that advises you to consume your protein smoothie within 15 minutes of making it.

I called the manufacturer for a better explanation as that makes no sense to me. Unfortunately, the representative could not explain the reasons behind this – and I would still love to know why. You can buy premixed protein shakes at your local convenience store, and they were likely mixed months ago.

So what gives? Bottom line; same number of grams of protein as other products with (again to me) the best taste. So yes, I use this one. This 5 pound container is the best value, most are 2 pounds.

I’ve used this for about two years now, and I like it. Probably tried a few dozen brands in my life, and find that, for the results and price, it’s the best deal I could find so far. Taking this immediately after heavy gym workouts usually means my subsequent muscle fatigue and pain is dramatically reduced the next morning.

Recovery is so fast sometimes, it’s shocking. The trick is, to take a serving no more than 30 minutes after workout. I live 10 minutes from my gym, so I hustle home and down two scoops mixed in my electric blender.

Most chocolate flavored Whey Proteins I’ve tried are flat out nasty. Body Fortress Chocolate is not quite as bad, but similar. I’ve also had better Strawberry and Vanilla flavored proteins. So I’ve tried all the Body Fortress flavors, and like the Peanut Butter and Cookies & Cream the best.

I’m giving it 5 stars because I can’t think of anything I dislike about it? You got huge amounts of protein per serving, lots of BCAA’s (to help recovery), low sugar, low carbs, creatine, leucine, FANTASTIC PRICE.

Literally, half the cost of other brands that don’t offer anything more than this does. Can’t think of any reason to give it a 4 stars or less?? Thumbs up!!.

I have bought a lot of Huge Supplements. I love their Pump Serum, and Wrecked. I love their Ecdysterone. But, this protein is just not up to par with any other supplements that Huge Supplements produce.

Very disappointing. I will not buy again, there is just too many other protein on the market that are way better. So many protein supplements have a better taste, better absorption, this product doesn’t mix well.

It reminds me of the old school protein I used to buy a long time ago. Just not happy. Still love Huge Supplements and will gladly give a thumbs up for any of their other products.

LOVE Huge Whey products so much, that I purchased the 3-pack in different flavors. Flavors are delicious, yet not too sweet like other competitive brands. Keeps me satiated for hours. As a result, I dropped 4lbs effortlessly.

The consistency is also very smooth, and could even be frothy if blended for an extended amount of time. I never had to deal with clumps or undissolved powder. I have now stopped purchasing Shakeology! Huge Whey is budget-friendly and better for my weight loss journey.

This the protein powder I will choose so long as the formula remains. Full stop. I have tried many different kinds, but this is the first I actually ENJOY drinking. Protein content is lower than alternatives, but its a concentrate, and it tastes good.

so add more scoops if you want more. Blends well into water without clumping and for someone with digestive issues such as myself (pancreatitis and Crohn’s), it’s been a treat to not experience bloating and intestinal distress.

PhD makes outlandish claim that it tastes of Belgian chocolate – not in this universe! Not at all like chocolate, barely even hazelnut flavour, with a gritty, chalky texture (even after vigorous shaking to mix) & a flat, slightly bitter, artificial aftertaste.

Just kak. Gets two stars for supplying the protein constituent it claims, but that’s all. Other brands like Optimum (worth the extra money) put this to shame. Please restock Optimum, Asda!.

I really like PhD Diet powders. I have been using them for a couple of years. They taste great (I find they don’t have what I can only describe as a weird dairy-protein taste overlay) and I LOVE the consistency; it is what drew me to the range and why I continue to stick with it.

I want my ‘protein shakes’ to have an actual shake-like consistency, rather than simply being what is effectively sweet water, which is what I find other protein powders result in. For those that complain this does not mix properly: as long as you put in the water first and the powder on top, you should have no issues using a protein shaker with mesh ball (I consume one scoop at a time).

I also put in an ice cube so that might help, too. I do agree that my memories of attempting this without a shaker/ball and/or just trying to use a spoon to mix it are not so fond. I would advise shaking this anyway to get the thicker ‘shake’ consistency.

With regards to the chocolate flavour, I do not find this too sweet by any stretch and am somewhat surprised by those reviewers that do. My comparison is MyProtein, which is god awfully sweet, in any flavour.

The chocolate flavour tastes really good, too; I would say the chocolate smell is stronger than the actual chocolate taste itself, though this is the first chocolate-flavour powder I have tried so I have nothing to compare it too.

I also have the White Chocolate Raspberry (tasty, but UNREAL with a small handful of real raspberries shaken in); the Cherry Bakewell (good; personally I wouldn’t buy it again but only because I really like other flavours instead.

Otherwise there are people who rave about the flavour); and the Cookies and Cream (I cannot really remember the flavour but it was the first one I ever purchased so it must have been good as it turned me into a repeat customer).

As a disclaimer: if you have not tried PhD Diet powders before and are looking for something to mix into anything other than liquid, this may NOT be the powder for you. I tested two powders (PhD Diet and MyProtein, which makes a very watery shake) with Greek yogurt in equal proportions (yogurt in grams, powder in tablespoon measures).

MyProtein mixed in superbly, while the PhD resulted in a very thick, fluffy, paste-like substance. Perhaps I should have tried adding water to see how it resulted thinned out but hey ho. Summary: PhD Diet powders taste great and will result in a lovely, thick shake-like drink that is enjoyable on its own.

The chocolate flavour is not too sweet, doesn’t have an after taste, and has a nice flavour. If, however, you are looking for a powder to mix into yogurt or similar, this might not be the best choice.

I can only imagine that the high reviews for this product are from people who haven’t tasted other brands, as it’s one of the worst I’ve had. Texture is powdery, no matter how much water/milk you add and it eases down your throat like a cup full of biscuit crumbs.

Taste isn’t great (mainly due to texture), tastes a bit more synthetic compared to others. It’s actually the only powder I threw away rather than trying to finish, so that sums it up right there!! Don’t waste your money, go for another brand.

Every year, I go through phases of bulking – cutting – bulking – cutting, and Mdrive’s lean protein powder worked wonders for the cutting phase of my cyclic workout regime in many ways, with 1 downside: PRO’s – Orange and chocolate flavored?! Yes but Mdrive Lean managed to create a delicious taste of the combo that was sensational! It’s like having an orange smoothie but without the added calories, plus, the powder itself blended so well in my shaker that there was no residual left at the bottom.

That’s the lowest I’ve ever seen in a lean protein and the fact that it is refined sugar-free and 100% all natural is enough to make me want to run an extra mile! – This easily was the most digestible lean protein I’ve ever consumed – no bloated feeling afterwards or gassy feeling (this is honest review lol).

I was able to go about the rest of my day not feeling like I was dragging to and from meetings at work. CON’s – I hate to deduct 1 star but the price tag is a bit high and when you do the math, it roughly cost $2.

13 for 1 serving of this lean protein powder. Compared to whey protein isolate, which is normally the highest priced protein on the market, Mdrive Lean surpasses that cost.

I was very much worried before ordering a whey protein. I did some research to find out that most of the Indian brands were being sold fake or did not show great results. Reading through a lot of reviews i found out that Healthkart sells authentic and good quality supplements and Ultimate Nutrition was the best whey protein i could find in the Indian market that was cheaper than others and authentic.

After getting my order i called their customer care and they validated all the codes present on the Jar. Later i also emailed Ultimate Nutritions officials and they also confirmed the same about the products authenticity.

Please go ahead and order guys. This is the safest and the best option you can find. I would update my review after a month once i finish this jar.

Bad bloating, was burping banana flavor out for 8 hours after drinking. I’ve had many protein powder shakes, this one tastes okay I guess, not the worse. The whole burping thing kills it tho. I mixed my shake 30 minutes before drinking, to let the air out, keeping it in the fridge during my workout.

Well it didn’t help.

This product is amazing for after workouts. Are use this after games and after practice. Blends well with water and the taste is great. Really affordable and easy to get on Amazon. Last a while and stays mixed with water throughout the day.

So good. A bit of aftertaste from sweeteners. Take the stevia out imho. I was looking to replace the excellent whey protein powder that was discontinued by another brand. This product ingredient list is so similar, the flavor so excellent… only difference the other had stronger vanilla Carmel flavor without the stevia aftertaste.

I’ll stick with onnit’s product as it is superior to everything else I’ve tried.

Onnit takes a lot of pride in the products they make. I can understand that not everything will be perfect. I order many other products from them after thoroughly going thru their ingredients. Only down side of this protein powder is that they place sunflower oil in it.

Aside from olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil many of the seed oils are not good for the human gut biome; and that is generally due to the fact of how it is processed and made. I checked with the manufacturer that supplies the sunflower oil to this company, and it is refined, not cold pressed.

There are many other issues with seed oils and its’ affects on the human body, but one can do research and find out all this information.

Smooth and tasty. I like my shakes creamy, so I usually make them with some sort of milk (dairy or nut). But I tried this with water too and it is still smooth and creamy. It is not gritty either. The cinnamon adds a great extra taste and kick.

I will totally buy this again.

This protein is amazing! I have been lifting for over 8 years and have tried many types of protein and this is the first one that I am actually excited to consume. When I first got it and tasted it I had to refrain from having it multiple times a day.

The taste is addicting and it blends very easily. I didn’t get any stomach issues or bloating from this protein which is something I experienced with others. This is great to add in smoothies and tastes great with just water but even better in cold almond milk.

I HIGHLY recommend this flavor (confetti cake).
