20 Best Whey Protein At Gnc (2023 Updated)

This protein is just okay to me. Was trying to decide between 2 or 3 stars to be honest. The flavor is ok. I always mix my protein powder with almond milk and typically purchase protein powder from Women’s Best.

I ran out and needed some ASAP to I headed to GNC and asked for their best or most popular protein powder and it was suggested I purchase this. 1. DOES NOT MIX WELL WITH MY OATMILK. I’m not sure if it mixes well with dairy or other plant based milks, but no matter how long I shake it in my blender bottle, there is still protein stuck in the bottom and sides.

My blender bottle is pretty legit and I’ve never had an issue with other proteins so why this one doesn’t mix well is beyond me. 2. Clumpy, aside from the protein sticking to my cup, the protein that does mix into my milk is still clumpy and I can just taste clumps of powder.

My boyfriend told me he mixes it with a little bit of milk first and then adds the rest of his serving after it has dissolved. I tried that and it still doesn’t work. I like it quick and smooth. I will finish this protein and try something else at GNC I won’t be buying this again.

Try the wheybolic if you can afford it instead.

I was told a long time ago that unless you’re an athlete you don’t need to supplement with protein powder. That isn’t necessarily true. A lot of people don’t take in enough protein in their diets. I prefer this product because it isn’t meant to be a meal replacement in lieu of breakfast.

I teach aerobics so I want actual food in my stomach before I teach. I add it to my smoothie in the morning after I teach. It’s important to get protein in your body within 20 -30 minutes after a workout.

For me, I can feel a difference in my energy level and brain power if I don’t.

I’ve now tried Creamy Strawberry, Vanilla, Cookies and Cream and Chocolate. Vanilla and cookies and cream I would say are the better of the two for my liking but I am not a big chocolate person. None are horrible in taste and they all taste better in milk than water.

I like mixing two of the flavors for a better taste. I mixed cookies and cream with chocolate as well as mixed vanilla and strawberry. For the price these protein powders are great, especially when you get buy 1 get 1 50% off.

Sometimes they get clumpy but for the most part they blend well and get the job done. Haven’t had any issues with these proteins.

I’ve been stuck at 125-130lbs for about 15 years. It has always been my biggest insecurity, I’m 6′ and just look and feel weak. I finally started routinely working out a few times a week, (not a lot more than I have before), but now with drinking two scoops of this every evening after a full meal.

And what do ya know. I GAINED 20LBS IN 2 MONTHS! I’ve never been so confident with my body and I cant wait to see what I’ll look in 6 months from now. TIPS: A serving is 2 HUGE scoops and the powder doesn’t dissolve easily.

This is what I do- – 8 oz almond milk – 8 oz water – whole banana – 1/2 cup strawberries – large spoonful almond butter – 4 ice cubes – handful of leafy greens – 1-2 scoops of BULK 1340 Blend for a good 45seconds to make sure it fully dissolves.

Tastes amazing!.

DONT get this flavor if you like chocolate. If I could give this half a star I would. This flavor tasted like someone left a chocolate tootsie roll sitting out in a hot car for days, it went rancid, then they blended it up.

I made myself one full shake and I hated every second of drinking it. I love chocolate anything, it’s my favorite dessert. If I had to finish this whole tub I would be absolutely be disgusted with chocolate by the end.

I had gotten strawberries and cream first and I actually really loved it, I’m sticking to that one. If you like strawberry Nesquick, go for that one cuz it tastes similar.

I mix this with about a 2:1 ratio water:ice for the liquid component so that it is moderately cold when I drink it. I blend aggressively with a vitamix because I dislike any chalky chunks and believe that makes it significantly more tolerable.

It is quite sweet. I started by mixing it with frozen bananas since past mass gainer products I’ve used needed the help but quickly decided even that much was too much. I now mix with either the double chocolate 1340 (1 scoop of each) or a handful of frozen strawberries.

(3 or 4 per scoop) Mixing with whole milk and ice instead of water and ice makes it ultra rich, almost cheesecake-like. Recommend adding extra fiber to your diet when you start drinking this.

Good whey protein drink. Best protein because whey is the most biologically available. Taste is ok but needs improvement. Maybe thicker and sweeter- perhaps higher in fiber.

The GNC ran out of the chocolate flavor, was forced to get the vanilla, and I prefer the vanilla!!! its awesome!! tastes like vanilla pudding I had as a child! Thanks GNC for running out of the chocolate flavor,, I would have never known the vanilla was so good!.

Was lucky to have this as a sample in my pro access box. Let me say I love the taste no joke. Actually, taste like I’m eating fruit loop cereal but better. Plus, it has these small like balls/chunks that appear when you mix it with milk delicious.

This one is by far the only protein powder I take my time and savor the taste. Instead of just chugging it down like other protein powders I use to take. Love this personal better than bulk 1340 double chocolate that I still buy.

If there was a protein that tastes just like (if not better) than the food it’s supposed to taste like on the label, this would be the one! I got this in my Pro Box as a sample, and it tastes amazing! Right now I’m buying the big bags of Combat from Costco.

It’s not bad, definitely lets you hit your daily protein goals but sometimes a change of pace is necessary. This is that change of pace. I’ll definitely consider buying a tub of this specific flavor next time I go into GNC to get my Concept X pre workout ??.

Great taste. Tastes just like strawberry milk. You will be dissapointed thinking it will taste like real strawberries. A lot of people have complained about the artificial flavoring but I actually enjoy it a lot.

Very delicious. Another great thing about this protein powder is it will make you full for hours. I found this more filling then standard whey protein, which makes it great to take if you have sudden cravings.

Only weird thing about this protein is it is very foamy which makes the texture slightly weird when you first drink it. Other then that, no complaints!.

I’ve used this several times because it’s been recommended by several friends and can easily be found at Costco. I only use the chocolate flavored one as I don’t care for any of their other flavors. However, I’ve started and stopped using this several times because I don’t think whey sits well with my GI tract.

It upsets my tummy in all sorts of ways (gas, bloating, upset stomach). I stopped using it for a while to try other protein alternatives, to which I have the same or similar experiences. I just think my body doesn’t do well with protein powders.

But if they work for you, this is a pretty decent one to have.

Was so excited to try these proteins (got confetti cake, chocolate, and munchies) and was so bummed at the flavors of all of these. Insanely sweet and artificial tasting. Munchies was sickeningly sweet, chocolate has a strange undertone I struggle to pin down the exact taste of, and confetti cake is almost unbearably artificial.

Texture is fine on all of them for the most part except the chunks of like pretzels in the munchies protein and the ‘sprinkles’ in the birthday cake one. Again, so bummed about this, REALLY wanted to love these since everyone raves about them.

Just struggling to see how people enjoy these. I fight them down every night. Wish I would have tried just one instead of doing Black Friday deals hoping I’d love them all. I will say the protein bars are really good though—specifically the peanut butter crunch one.

I guess what I would say is start with one and maybe get it somewhere you can return if needed. If you like extremely sweet and artificial tasting things, you might like this. Mixes really well, I will say.

Otherwise I think there is room for an insane amount of improvement with the protein powders, not only with flavors but quality. I feel like I’m doing my body a disservice by consuming these proteins.

You’d think such a massive brand would take the time to ensure great pure quality and awesome flavors that weren’t so artificial tasting. Disappointing and I wish I would have seen a review like this before spending almost $100 on proteins between this site and another retailer that sells their products.

Hopefully some changes happen to these products.

Bring back the original chocolate flavor. PLEASE! I bought both cinna bun and frosted flurry with so much excitement on release day. To say these flavors are a disappointment is putting it lightly. Aside from smelling horrendous, the taste is absolutely awful.

I tried both powders in shake form and overnight oats. I wasn’t even halfway through when I tossed it in the trash. For being 0g of sugar, they are ridiculously sweet and taste artificial. Not pleasing to the pallet whatsoever! Save your money, folks.

The original chocolate flavor was the BEST!.

Possibly the best weigh experience I could ask for. I’m an underweight teen trying to get into fitness and hopefully change some things. I have crohns Disease which makes it hard (and painful) to gain weight by just eating.

I often don’t have the appetite money or time for it. I knew I needed some help and this is it. It tastes great, has everything I need, and doesn’t weigh me down like other powders do. Sometimes mixing is a little tricky but not too bad.

I’ve been buying Solgar chocolate protein power for years. Mixed easily, no after taste. Loved it. My last order I ended up with the “Grass Fed” version. I thought they just changed the packaging. I was wrong.

The first thing I noticed was it was really hard to get mixed. Ended up with a glass full of sticky lumps. For minutes I had to mash them against the inside of the glass with a spoon (like a mortar and pestle) to get it drinkable.

Then there is the “new-formulation” which, to me, tastes terrible. Very strong after taste. Unfortunately I bought two big cans of it, so being a frugal-miser I’ll pinch my nose and suffer through them but these will be the last cans of Solgar I buy (unless I can find the previous version).

I bought this thinking it was the usual chocolate Whey to go I’ve been buying for years. It has been one of my favorite products. However, what I received is a product with new–and inferior– ingredients, less nutritional value, and an awful, artificial flavor.

It also has saturated fat in it (the other one didn’t), and 25mg of cholesterol vs. 5 in the old one. I could go on, but the TLDR is don’t buy this new formulation. Unless they change the formulation back to what it was, I’ll be looking for another whey product.

Try a new brand! Why not!” because I trusted QVC and I trusted the QVC Host. Most of the products I’ve purchased from qvc, I really love, but this was my first food product purchase — and it will probably be my last one.

I purchased the Mixed Berry. First off, YUCK. The taste is overly sweet, with a mild hint of Robitussin fake berry flavor. GROSS. Seriously. there is no way I could add any extra fruit to this shake.

Secondly, and MOST importantly. it is full of UNHEALTHY ingredients! WRONG. Corn Syrup??? WHY????? Artificial flavors? ok, that is code for CHEMICALS, people. Ditto for artificial colors. That means DYES. Why? Just add some raspberries if you need a PINK shake. Palm Oil? Atherosclerosis and HIGH cholesterol causing agent! WHY is this in a protein powder?? SUGAR? REALLY??? Uhm, why not use STEVIA? (although, women who are pregnant or wanting to become pregnant should NOT consume Stevia).

So, why not just NOT have any sugar or sweetner!. Let consumers add in REAL FRUIT instead! Carrageenan? That is a CHEAP FILLER which has been show to cause GUT INFLAMMATION and digestive tract damage.

WHY WHY WHY??? Sucralose? This is a CHEMICAL sweetner! It can increase your risk of IBS and Crohns Disease, amongst other things. WHY have it in here? What made me the most upset about this product being on QVC was the enthusiasm that Kirsten and the GNC shake rep showed for it.

Their excitement over how HEALTHY this product was, seemed very sincere. If I remember correctly, Kirsten said she used to be either a nutritionist or a personal trainer once — I can’t remember which.

Regardless of which it is, she should know that the above ingredients do NOT a healthy shake make! I can’t believe she would drink this herself, or offer it to her family. Another gripe of mine is that there is NO information stated on the container about where this protein powder is MADE.

?? Why not? It’s not listed on the GNC site, either. It took me a few calls to finally be told that it is “distributed from the USA”. Well, that is not the same thing as knowing where it is made. Multi ingredient foods and supplements can be “manufactured” in the usa, but the ingredients can also be sourced from China or any other country.

Consumers have a right to know, and while all of this info may not fit onto the label, one should be able to call the brand and get this information. I was told they had no available info on where the product was made, nor where the ingredients were from (all I wanted to know was were the ingredients from the USA or from another country, and where was the powder manufactured.

In a US plant? in China? where? No info was available. As a consumer, I feel I have the right to know. If you care about HOLISTIC HEALTH, do not use this protein powder. Do your research. There are much better tasting AND safer alternatives out there.

I hope QVC just didn’t do their research before allowing this product to be sold on their site, and not that they knew this product was unhealthy, but chose to carry it anyway. For a company who proports to care so much about CLEAN BEAUTY, how can qvc NOT care about CLEAN FOODS? Tip: Please make sure you also research lead contamination when looking for a WHEY based protein powder.

Most will contain some trace amounts, which the FDA claims is “safe”. Whey protein powder is effective and it’s what I use, but do try to find ones that are the most lead-FREE as possible. There are several sites which have protein powders rated.

Check them out before making your decision. On a good note, QVC’s customer service was great, and they immediately refunded me for this purchase. She also promised to send my comments on to a supervisor.

Thank you. I truly hope QVC can find a HEALTHIER protein powder to offer customers, and that they look much more deeply into a food product’s ingredients in the future! What we put IN our bodies is just as important, if not more so, than what we put ON our skin, in my opnion.

Was looking to try this to add to mine and the kids’ morning smoothies. I relied upon Kierstin’s presentation about how great this powder is and her explicitly stating that her son’s favorite flavor was Oreo which made it seem as if she frequently gives this to her kids.

After receiving this product, I find that really hard to believe. We made our first chocolate shakes this morning, adding a banana as usual. Both of my kids said there was a terrible aftertaste and one found the product to be undrinkable.

When I tried it myself, I understand what they mean. The aftertaste is one of heavy sugar substitute sweetener and synthetic, and the overall sweetness made it so hard to get down that I didn’t even finish my own – hard as I tried since I just naively spent a fortune on these things.

Also bought the Oreo flavor, but I’m sure the overpowering sweetness and sugar substitute flavor will be present there as well. More than anything I guess I’m upset that I’ve been a customer of QVC so long, I thought I could rely on certain people for certain presentations and that is clearly not the case.

There is no Quality or Value in this product. Only perhaps Convenience if you can tolerate it. Buyer beware.

Everyone’s taste buds are different. This has sucralose in it which I didn’t know before buying. I searched the label trying to find out. I thought it had actual sugar in it which I would prefer over the fake sweeteners.

Some people don’t mine sweeteners but I think the taste of the chocolate is icky and the aftertaste is still in my mouth 30 minutes after drinking it. Better to buy a plain organic whey (or other protein) and make your own shakes so that you control what’s in it.

The ingredients on this are a bunch of junk we shouldn’t be putting into our bodies. I’m sending mine back. That said, I found that the powder mixed very well in my Vitamix and I liked the light, frothy texture I got from mixing it that way.

I used plain, unsweetened almond milk. I’m going back to buying plain whey protein though, this stuff really is gross-tasting to me. You may like it but you should still read the ingredients and decide if you want that stuff in your body.

I don’t. I admit that I was pressured by the “this is going fast” pop-ups while I was trying to read review and the Q&A and check out the ingredients before I purchased. I gave in and ordered. For me, that was a mistake.

I will ignore those sales-pressure pop-ups in the future.

I ordered this product because I purchased it at my Doctors office and loved it. The Best Whey is great for a morning breakfast or lunch. Its low-calorie with 21 grams of protein great for vegetarians looking to get enough protein in there diet.

The whey mixes great with water and ice soy milk or rice milk (everything I have used with it so far). It is also great with a few berries. I add probiotics to mine along with ground flax seed. It does not mix super creamy however it is thicker than the usual shake mixes I have tried.

I would order this product again.

I have used Best Whey Protein for sometime. My gym was selling it but stopped. It is the best tasting shake ever. Best Whey Protein is thick and mixes very well. I use it everyday and with my post weight workout I add a couple of teaspoons of honey and fruit.

It does not ever repeat on you like some whey protein. When I ordered from PureFormulas the product arrived within 3 days. I couldnt believe how fast it came. I keep both the vanilla and chocolate on hand.

Great price and they ship very fast. Best Whey Protein was recommended to me by my Nutritionist I was skeptical because I didnt want to gain weight. Best Whey Protein protein is different then most others I drink 1-2 shakes everyday.

And in 4 months and eating better with Best Whey Protein I lost 25 pounds.

I’ve been using this weight gainer product for about 2 years now. I use one scoop & add other protein foods to substitute another scoop. I blend everything in a blender & has gained 15 pounds. I take breaks from it, then stat back using it.

It has helped me to gain & sustain my healthy weight.

I have taken protein powder in the past and fell off taking it. Now i am back, after doing extensive research for a good weight gainer protein and i found it in the GNC vanilla flavor protein. I definitely enjoy the flavor with the milk and other liquids i mix it with.

This has been my breakfast every morning for 5 years (half serving of protein shake mix, mixed with 200 ml almond milk, 1/4 teaspoon of xanthan gum for thickening, and 1 tablespoon of PB2 and 6 ice cubes blended using my Ninja single server power blender).

It’s like a McDonald chocolate shake, thick and creamy. I look forward to it. I don’t plan to ever change so long as this product is available. I am not a coffee drinker and the added caffeine I find gives me that morning boost.

I noticed a very slight after taste, however, adding a tablespoon of PB2 (powdered peanuts) there is absolutely no after taste. This year I started adding a tablespoon of flax seed to add to the health benefits.

The thermogentic aspect of this product definitely helped me reach my weight goals. I lost 45 pounds and have kept the weight off for over 2 years. obviously with calorie reduction and exercise. Since I only have a half serving.

sometimes I have a second shake later in the day as a snack.

This is the best diet shake I’ve ever used. The flavors are true and tasty. The shake is thick and filling, so it satisfies my hunger. Lean Shake helps me lose weight when I use it regularly to replace just one meal per day.

I like the convenience of the bottled version, but the powdered mix is good too. The price is affordable so that I can stock up to have it available for several weeks at a time. With only one gram of sugar this product is a definite win.

Omg is right! So I was struggling on keto and my weightloss journey. I couldn’t get my calorie count down, address my sugar cravings and see quick progress so I tried slim fast keto and slim fast advance but its didnt improve my results but the taste was awesome and meal prep was easier.

I remembered seeing this product so I looked on youtube and people had great reviews on the taste. I went to GNC and the staff was helpful. I purchased mint chocolate but the flavor was so overwhelming.

I took it back as the cashier suggested upon purchase and another staff person suggested chocolate and banana cream. I combine 1/2 scoop of each with almond milk and its fabulous. Low sugar, tastes great, keeps me full, low in calories, provides energy and I’m down 3 lbs in a week.

I bought this in store yesterday as I was looking for a low calorie way to boost protein and it seemed ideal. Was expecting this to taste more like a juice or protein water that you can buy in the shops, however it’s excessively sweetened, has a strange texture – smooth but somehow sticks to your tongue and it has a strange vaguely rotten egg type smell to it which I noticed after a few sips which I couldn’t unnotice after that.

Giving it two stars as it does tick the box of 21g of protein at only 90-odd calories but I don’t think I’ll be able to face much, if any, more of it unfortunately.

Tasted awful. Ordered grapefruit and tasted nothing like it. Was more like perfume to be honest.

Easy to have between sessions, just like drinking squash!
