Western Digital’s Blue drives are about as workmanlike a storage solution as you can hope to find. They’re not exceptionally fast, nor do they come with a host of specialized features or attractive styling.

But they are sturdy, affordable, and easy to work with. And the SN570 carries on this tradition. The drive has a fairly basic single-sided layout without any kind of heat spreader or other cooling solution, so installation is unlikely to be an issue in just about any platform with space for a 2280 module.

No mounting screws are included in the box, which is pretty typical but worth pointing out in case the machine you want to install it in didn’t come with any extras. In my case I used it to fill out the second SSD slot in my daily driver laptop, and installation only took about ten minutes total.

As expected there were no issues initializing the drive and it offered a total of 930gb of extra storage (the remainder is reserved for overprovisioning by the drive controller. ) As far as performance goes, it’s acceptable but certainly nothing to get excited about.

Theoretically the drive is capable of reaching speeds upwards of 3000mb/s, but any time it gets up around 2000 it starts heating up a fair bit and ends up throttling back down. It likely would have performed a bit better if I installed it in a desktop with a heat spreader to keep temps under control, but that feels a little bit excessive here.

Write speeds fare a little better but run into their own issues with the included cache, which uses SLC flash rather than the DRAM you might find in higher tier drives. On the one hand this does mean that the drive is less likely to lose data in the event of a sudden power outage, definitely a plus if you happen to be one of the content creators they’re marketing this towards, but it’s also slower to empty out and isn’t large enough to provide a noticeable improvement for larger operations.

As such you might want to think twice if you plan to use this as a boot drive. It’s certainly better than a SATA drive or hard disk, but it would definitely end up chugging in that role. And. that’s about it.

The days I spent testing the thing were about as mundane as you can get, with no real surprises in performance or temperature to report. And for a large storage drive aimed at content creators, that’s definitely a feature rather than a bug.

I’d recommend it to anyone looking to expand their storage without having to resort to older tech.

The WD Blue SN570 1TB SSD is a fantastic upgrade to any computer running a traditional mechanical hard drive or to replace an existing smaller capacity SSD. Just make sure your computer has a compatible M.

2 SSD port, and you’re off to the races. The drive cam securely packaged, and was very easy to install. I did have to create a boot disk using the Windows go into my PC’s BIOS and disable RAID in order for my machine to recognize the device.

Also, if installing the SSD as your boot drive on a Windows PC, you will need to create a Windows USB boot drive using the Windows media creation tool. This is a simple process, and many good tutorials are available online.

The one issue I had with the device, and my reason for 4 stars vs. 5 stars, was the failure of WD to include hold down screws and spacers. My PC did not have these, because I was installing the SSD in a machine that had only a traditional HDD.

I first checked with Best Buy, and then ordered twice from an online retailer before getting what I needed to complete the install. WD could supply a few standoffs and screws in the two sizes normally encountered and make this a complete package for just a few pennies.

It would have made my installation a 30 minute affair instead of dragging on for most of a week over a standoff and a screw. Overall, this SSD accomplishes exactly what one expects from an SSD. Extremely quick boot times and nearly instantaneous file access without the noise of the traditional spinning disc.

The large 1TB capacity is also excellent for most users. Unless you’re doing lots of video editing, storing large numbers of movies and TV shows, or have a huge photo library, this size should be sufficient.

Best of luck choosing an SSD for your machine. If you pick this one, you won’t be disappointed, just make sure you have the hardware to install!.

Picked up this drive for my teenager for Christmas so they could install more games (the gaming laptop they have only has a 500GB internal drive). It worked great, speed was fine, no stuttering or lagging when they played games like Apex Legends or GTA V or Valorant installed on this external drive.

Problem is that after about 30 days drive stopped working. Seems to be a critical failure. Now I get it, this happens happens, and 99% of the time if you are going to have a HD failure it will be within the first 30 days of use (as a result of manufacturing defect) or after the 5-7 year mark (when it simply just wears out).

I’m just kicking myself because I have lost the receipt and this purchase was like the ONE TIME that I declined having an electronic receipt emailed to me. So if this drive works for you it will work fine.

Works great as an external game drive. Just be sure to KEEP YOUR RECEIPT because if it fails it will fail relatively soon and still be under warranty. I’m going to end up buying another one despite the failure.

I figure now that the odds are ever in my favor.

There is a white indicator light for hard drive activity that is very bright. The two tone finish which is mostly black with white accents looks very cool.

Got 3 18TB mybooks for a crazy low price each from the wd store (dunno how I got that price, maybe the store was screwed up that day but I jumped). They are simple to plug in, fast, and you can disable sleep mode.

The only thing about the 18TB versions are they are LOUD. They do click/make a noise every 5 seconds (one is a click when the drive does it’s 5 second access because something in the case is lose and you can tell it’s the top plastic piece making the click).

All of the mybooks are designed to make a noise every 5 seconds to “lubricate” stuff according to the faq here. The extra warranty making them have a 4 year warranty was even better. OH and these are 7200RPM drives in the case, probably white label red’s.

I also have 4 14’s and one of those is 7200 (the rest are 5400) so i would guess it’s a crap shoot what they decide to slap in there but my 18’s are 7200 and fast over usb 3. 1. If I see the low offer show up again I’m going to get one more and max out my drive letters.

I find these more reliable than the brand that starts with see and ends with gate (the warranty on those is a year and they stuff in enterprise class drives where if you bought them bare you get a 3 year warranty and they wont honor the drive S/N, just the chassis SN).

I don’t know how WD handles shucked drives (none of mine are shucked) but I read that they dont complain and replace them. I’ll stick with WD, never had much trouble with them. Again, they’re fast, long warranty and the only complaint is they’re noisy but what can you do.

You can’t go wrong with the brand, quality or price.

If you are going to use this device with a Mac, you (may) need to contact WD technical support to guide you through reformatting prior to use. The reformatting process is logical, but can not be installed using the internal Mac disc utilities, you will need to install WD’s download and use tech support to help make this a quick and easy process.

This device, ( of which i purchased two) an 18TB My Book, will be used here as back up to my 48TB G Raid 4 bay Shuttle. I do not use the cloud for storage and would prefer to house my own back up. My digital life began with an ever increasing number of By Book’s in the 1990’s, and then migrated everything to G Drive storage.

What I have done now, in this purchase is consolidate 12 G drives into, 1 48 TB G 4bay shuttle and 2- 18 TB My Book drives to bring of my storage needs up to date, with space available for adding data for a few years to come.

This series of recent purchases represents my continued loyalty and trust in the performance reliability of products from WD for well over two decades.

I have an embarrassingly large number of backup drives. Part of it is as a commercial photographer it’s a necessity – at last count I have something approaching a quarter of a million photos in my lifetime file.

The other reason is I’ve learned the hard way to back up all of my work, then back it up again, and then make sure to make another backup to take off premises for safety. This is my third WD MyBook. There’s no real reason this product exists, there are cheaper ways to get a backup drive and use it with a computer, but these are convenient, dependable and reasonably priced.

I bought this one to do a mega consolidation of everything I have on many different media, except for my photography. WHAT I LIKE The form factor is simple, just a plastic monolith case that can be used either horizontal or vertical.

I choose to use it vertical to take up a minimal amount of desk space. I like to keep it right there in front of me as a visual reminder to be sure to do a daily backup. IMPROVEMENTS WD seems to have this product line down pat, it’s old technology that has proven itself and there’s not a lot they can do to make it better.

The most positive thing I can say about it is that they wisely don’t load it with a lot of useless bloatware to try to make it look more important to you. There are just two relatively small apps, one for PC and one for Mac for those who like to use backup software.

Both files are easily deleted in seconds if you don’t want them. I choose not to use automated backup software, I simply copy entire files and folders from one drive to another so there’s no guessing where they are or what they’re named.

OPINION I find it unfortunate that here we are deep into the twenty-first century and there are still reviews about how noisy or slow these drives are. Your’re not saying anything new by bringing that up, yes they are, if that bothers you don’t buy a hard drive with a spinning platter.

There are those who will say, and count me in on that, mechanical hard drives continue to be used because they are the safest media we can use, the chances of recovering a corrupt or lost data file is highest with these than any other media.

The method being used to use a moving recording head back and forth on a revolving disk is going to cause some noise and it’s also going to be a bit on the slow side. I find that the speed is only a factor when I first get a drive and I’m copying huge amounts of data to it, and yes that can take hours.

After that most backups are cumulative and how long they take has never been an issue for me. And like I said, I keep my WD right in front of me on my desk and they’ve reduced the vibration and noise to the point that it is almost imperceptible.

Because this product does exactly what I expect it to do and because of my positive experience with the MyBook product line I believe this earns a full five stars.

Boots just fine and as fast or faster than the Apple internal drive. Delivery was as promised at the expected time. It was recommended both by WD and StarTech to play it safe and get it with a heatsink.

Cost a bit more but eliminates potential issues. Totally functions as expected with excellent presales support.

My CCL-built custom computer dual boots with Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu MATE. Each operating system was on its own Fireacuda hybrid hard disk, and the computer ran quite quickly. I decided to try putting the Linux onto a Western Digital Black SN750 M.

2-2280 1TB to see if I could get even more speed. I’ll use the now spare Fireacuda hybrid hard disk for BBC iPlayer downloads. It was very easy to fit the SN750 onto the motherboard, though I needed to remove my video card to access the slot.

The SN750 just needs one mounting screw. (I found the required “stand-off” screw already on the motherboard. You don’t get one packaged with the SN750, so make sure that you have one. ) Once I had re-booted (into Windows), the computer recognised that the SN750 was present.

I then installed a second copy of Linux Ubuntu MATE onto the SN750. I was pleasantly surprised how quick and easy that was. It took only a few minutes to set up. I’m using Ubuntu’s encryption on ZFS.

When I tried to boot into Linux, the computer would not recognise the Linux copy on the SN750, only the copy on the hard disk. That was quickly rectified by adjusting the boot priorities in the UEFI (BIOS).

It then booted — and wow!. This simple upgrade has brought me into the modern world of computing. It’s much faster and quieter than before. Yes, I would recommend this for Linux. I have yet to try the SN750 with Windows but I’ll wait till Windows 11 comes along in the autumn; not that I really need Windows now.

I have the version without heatsink, but having built my own machines for 30 years I had a selection of old heatsinks and modified one to fit perfectly and attached via 2 zip ties with Artic Silver. Swapped drives and it booted perfectly.

WD Dashboard confirms it’s running full 4 lanes,, run trim but cannot report much else. If you absolutely desire such I guess it’s worth spending more for a Samsung or others that furnish a Win 8. 1 driver.

In fact my Lenovo diagnostics can access the temp reading of the drive and with my home brew heatsink it idles at 34C and writing large files I’ve yet to see it above 46C, meanwhile performance has more than doubled, almost tripled in some case, and in the the range of all reviews you have seen for these WD drives.

Completely satisfied.

Went to my local Golf Galaxy two days ago to check out the new Epic Speed and Speed Max LS. I’d had enough of the built-in fade bias of my current driver, and the Epic was at the top of my list. The store’s PGA professional, Scott Pierce, came to the bay I was hitting in and suggested we move over to a Trackman bay to get some good numbers with each of the 3 drivers I was hitting.

Scott not only helped me make the decision on the Speed, but gave me a ton of confidence that my play over the last couple years wasn’t due to my swing. Fast forward to today. I’ve been shooting in the mid to high 80’s and low 90’s since April of this year (my handicap was 2.

4 two years ago before shoulder injuries sidelined me for far too long). I missed two fairways today, and it was windy 10-15mph. On #4, I hit a high draw to the downhill slope of the fairway and it ended up running out left tof the fairway.

Hill assisted 330 yard drive. On #18, I missed the fairway by 2″ again left (ALL of my misses with my old driver were RIGHT). 5 birdies total, with 4 of them in the last 6 holes for a two-season low score of 74 (par 72).

I love the smaller profile of the Epic, and found it easy to shape shots: high draw, low draw, high fade, etc. without ever feeling like the club was going to exaggerate the ball flight I wanted with excessive spin.

I also love how forgiving it is on slightly off-center hits. I didn’t notice any distance loss by hitting it 1/2″ out on the toe, or 1/2″ toward the heel. just a slightly different ball flight (higher or lower) with the gear effect bringing the ball back on target.

I also love that it sits really square to barely open at the stated loft. Very confidence inspiring! I think this will be my driver for a very long time!.

Bought this MAX driver and the Epic Speed to compare and test this year. I initially figured the Epic Speed driver would prevail. Wrong. The MAX had a 60g stiff and the SPEED had a 50g stiff. Switched shafts around for various days of testing.

Results were excellent with the MAX and only so-so with the SPEED. Didn’t care for the smaller head on it and was not as high flight nor as forgiving. The MAX felt very good, higher flight and more forgiveness you hit it anywhere on the face virtually it goes straight.

But it felt stiff and a bit hard. After some research online and speaking with a golf shop pro in USA, he recommended putting the IM10 Smoke 70g REGULAR shaft from an Epic Max LS into my MAX driver, a different torque rating of 3.

2 and 73 gram weight. For testing I also bought a 60g regular just to see the comparison. Well, the 60 gram regular was very good, BUT the 70g was incredible! Longest I’ve hit a ball in 25 years and I’m 58 now.

Straight like a laser, this shaft lowered my spin and slightly lower trajectory to optimum so the MAX is now like a 1/2 way combo of the MAX and MAX LS. The spin is close to that of the LS now with trajectory in between the 2 drivers normal flight paths.

This gives me perfect launch and rollout forever. It’s fantastic. Sound and feel incredible and off center hits are straight with minimal yardage loss compared to the MAX LS. This is the best of both worlds in a driver.

Not shopping for a new driver for many years to come. LOVE IT!.

I am a 53 year old southpaw and have been golfing on and off for 30 years, the last 20 has been at a 16-18 handicap. I’ve lost about a half a club length off my distance in the last year due to age, with an average decent drive in the 230-240yds range.

My current driver had been a Titleist 910 D2 and the usual dispersion pattern for my drives has long been characterized by a frequent fade. This 10. 5 degree Epic Max driver (dialed dow to 9. 5) has straightened out my drives and mishits noticeably.

The fade is almost imperceptible when I do mis-hit it and I occasionally have a small draw, that is without even changing the settings to a draw bias. My last outing I was either in the fairway or just out of the fairway on seven out of seven drivable holes.

The fades are definitely not as prominent and the distance is about 25 yards longer than what I was hitting. For an intermediate player like me the forgiveness factor for this club is exactly as advertised.

The WD drive is great, seems well built and comes with cable and adapter allowing it to connect to USB-C or legacy USB sockets. Out of the box format was NTSF but I changed to exFat to work read/write with PC and Mac platforms.

Used it to record 16 tracks of 96k/24bit audio from a live concert on my USB-C equipped older laptop. No glitches at all. If only BB’s purchase process were as trouble free. I’d ordered from my local store in Santee, CA for pickup, only to be told the one unit they showed in stock really wasn’t there.

but at least that notice came very quickly. So I transferred the order to the El Cajon store, which promptly ignored it for about 2 hours. I finally dropped in on my way home from work, only to be told there was a problem verifying my credit card.

Not that store personnel were bothered to notify me of a problem; I’m sure that’s much too difficult for them to handle. Trouble is, my card was already charged successfully at the original store so where’s the holdup? Then they said I’d have to wait for someone to pull the product which I could SEE on the display 50′ away, and then only after the credit card issue was cleared up.

They had zero idea how long that might take. I told them to cancel the order and I’ll go buy it off the shelf. To her credit the cashier I’d been speaking with came along to make sure I got the identical product.

Then, at the register it was like magic! My credit card was accepted. The original payment was refunded within a short time. So what kind of amateur operation are you running? Telling me lies due to your inept customer service.

I purchased the My Passport Ultra 5TB and received it today. As soon as I plugged in into my USB port, the Clicking began, aka “The Click Of death”. I noticed a lot of people that have experienced connectivity issues have laptops.

I am so glad I didn’t get hooked on those devices. I prefer speed over convenience. Being a system builder by profession and hobby, I never have connectivity issues. However, this drive suffers from mechanical issues.

Oh yes, I did experience where the computer no longer recognized the drive, but that only lasted for a short time. After seeing the price being less expensive for a 5TB over a 4TB, you know that there is an issue with the device based on its capac I have had two 1TB My Passport, and one 2TB Elements that I purchased years ago.

You know what? They continue to run a peak efficiency. My data is too important to me to trust WD any further. They sell drives that they know have an issue and continue to sell them. I have had two 1TB Passport, and one 2TB Elements that I purchased years ago.

Overall the drive is functional out of the box, easy to connect and get you on your way. The updated USB-C brings it into the current standard. The metal case is an improvement over the previous hard plastic so I am not concerned carrying it in my laptop bag.

The transfer performance is sufficient for data transfer and streaming as needed. A longer cable of even a few inches, would be suggestion for the next production run or model upgrades. The warranty is there if you run into any issues, but it should not be needed under normal use.

The price is starting to get up there in comparison to other brands so it becomes more a loyalty and picking it up on sale. I have numerous products from WD so for me it was the obvious choice.

I had originally started my big pit mix rescue on the diamond naturals skin and coat formula, which he loved. The kibble pellets were small, ball shaped, they fit in a slow feeder toy that he loves, and it was a good smell, as far as a dog is concerned.

But when I got our boxer pup, who also ended up being over 90 pounds, I decided to go ahead and switch them both over to a large breed food when I switched the boxer off of his puppy food. The Diamond large breed formulas are completely different, both lamb and chicken.

The kibbles disc-like, much bigger and flatter, they’re lighter in color, which I don’t know if that makes a difference, they dont seem as dense, and they don’t seem to have much smell either. It must be a little like eating cardboard pellets.

Even the rescue, who will literally eat anything, will actually leave breakfast until dinner and then finally eat it. He never does that! So sadly I’ve had to start looking for another brand.

Well after putting my order in I received my hard drive within just 2 to 3 days. Luckily for me I live in Southern California and it only had to come about a half an hour away. But on that note once I received it popped it into my all-in-one HP computer put the new operating system in now it works flawlessly.

It’s been a couple of weeks now and I’ve had no issues. I love this computer it was only a couple years old so was worth keeping. So if you’re thinking about purchasing a hard drive go ahead you should have no problems.

Also the hard drive when it arrived came packaged very well to the point where I could see it wasn’t going to be damaged in shipping. Hopefully this review helps somebody out there.

WD Blue 2TB (WD20EZBX) is a fast drive. 7200RPM, 256MB cache, you can easily get 200+ MBps read speeds. Fast enough to be a game drive (not as fast as an ssd but your only waiting 15 to 20 seconds at most for a game to load) It is a SMR drive however, so writing does suffer a bit there.

Although if your focus on read applications (like gaming), this is a totally usable drive. As i told a family member this is a undercover WD Black HDD.

I bought the Blue 4TB HDD here (Serial Number: WX52D320YAK1). It arrived DEAD. I can’t start it. To replace it I’d have to pay a half price of it. Alexander S and other support team members doesn’t listen to me.

I’m very very unpleased with WD service. Terrible service! I’ll say to all my friends that WD produce crap and doesn’t want to replace it! I SUGGEST YOU TO THINK TWICE TO BUY WD HDD!.

I purchased the newest MacBook Pro of the time in 2021 Christmas, and paired it with a WD 1TB My Passport. Was being told that as long as I install all required softwares, the drive will work its magic.

Turned out that wasn’t true. It didn’t work properly since the very first day of purchase, has been on and off on MacBook. Yesterday it just crashed all of a sudden while I was transferring photos into it.

Ran all drive tests on Disk Utilities but all came back to be passed. There are plenty of precious memories stored in this external drive and I seriously don’t know what to do. The drive doesn’t come with a USB cable that’s compatible with the newest MacBooks (as they no longer have ports for USB-A cables, adaptors are needed always).

Works great! Very impressed by the potential transfer speed of 6 GBPS, though real world results are always lower. Even on a mid range laptop however I was achieving 200-300 MBPS on average. When plugged into my phone transfer speed shot up to 1.

2 GBPS so that was great as well. Love the storage and the price is right for such a large portable storage. The one drawback is the fractured and at times redundant WD drive software(s). There are multiple programs to install and manage your drive.

it would be much easier to include everything in one program. They are moving in that direction with the new EdgeRover software- that’s a must try if you have multiple storage modes and means and things are.

Its nice but the software to use is a bit of pain, everytime I turn on my computer I get error message that the drive cannot be started and needs to scan for errors, a real pain. It only offers backup not a clone that would continuously add files as I use the laptop.

I had to remove the password, due that when you boot it cannot start the drive and the password would not pop up, I have to manually search the app and enter password and then run the app to run the back up, kind of like the 80’s I thought we are in the 21st century and advance technology existed.

It may be a ok drive but terrible software. My old one that is 15 years old, no longer works because the software does not support windows 10 or 11, so I cannot access my files backed up. No support.

I may have same with this new one, in 5 years no support for the software or updates.

This is a follow-up to my review about a year ago. Again, my use case is an 8 drive RAID in a Linux system (Fedora). These drives were purchased Nov 2020. I have also since moved from an Adaptec RAID card to a MegaRAID card, to hopefully get a better experience, however, that did not help.

I was running these as a RAID 5, but because of the failure rates I have switched to a RAID 6. I have now had 10 of these drives replaced in 8 RMAs (88473645 88545097 88568417 88587158 65073767 65099873 65155823 65162324 65191095).

Smartctl is also giving me the tell-tale warning signs that another is now going out (increasing ATA error count). So WD may expect my 11th RMA very soon. The response to my last review, to contact customer support, went no-where.

I did as suggested and it seemed to be promising at first. However, I got bounced around 3 different groups and eventually no more replies. Again, these drives appear to do very well as stand-alone drives.

But in a Linux RAID, seriously, hands-down the worst drive I’ve ever had the misfortune to use. And as an IT pro with over 20+ years. I’ve used a LOT of drives, different types, configurations, etc. I would not ever recommend this drive as a RAID drive.

WD customer support on this matter was a disappointment. However, their RMA program is fantastic.

I replaced two, 6TB UltraStar drives with two, 18TB Gold Enterprise drives in my RAID chassis, which I use as a Time Machine backup for my Mac computer. I’ve had the drives for a couple of weeks now and everything has gone swimmingly.

The only complaint I have is the noise level of the drives. Since the Gold Enterprise drive specifications are similar to that of the UltraStar drive, I expected the same level of noise. What I found, however, is the Gold Enterprise drives are noisier.

You can definitely hear the read/write heads shuttling around in the drive. There is definitely room to improve the drive design in this regard. Aside from the noise, I am satisfied with the drive performance and am hoping I get the same level of reliability with the Gold Enterprise drives that I had with the UltraStar drives.

In terms of ordering experience, I was very happy with the online shopping process through the Western Digital website. I chose to order directly from Western Digital to ensure the drives were covered by their 5 year warranty.

The drives came within a few days of purchase packaged in a box that provided exceptional protection.

I love WD’s higher end drives like the Blacks, Reds, and Purples (Greens and Blues are garbage). I pretty much use WD exclusively, except for SSD which I prefer Samsung Evo’s. I have 2 Synology NAS’ with WD Reds in Raid 5 arrays (4 drives each).

one drive starts to die approximately every 3 years (IO errors with a few bad sectors). I just configured a new Synology RS820+ in raid 10 w/(4) 4tb WD Red pro drives. No problems at all. The drives were shipped in OEM boxes, within a bigger box.

All nice and tidy. I then ordered another drive, as a spare, which was also nicely packaged. I went with red pro over regular red for the higher cache.

The WD Black SN770 is an excellent choice to upgrade an older/smaller solid state drive or a hard drive. Write speeds are great for storing and accessing data like photos and videos. Performance wise, this drive is well suited for nearly all storage cases but seems to perform especially well for video editing and accessing applications from.

I used this to upgrade my boot drive from a smaller 256 GB drive (gen 3) to this. Even if your motherboard only supports gen 3 this drive still is blazing fast and will still work with it and the write speeds are definitely improved over the last generation of drives.

Upgrading yourself is not too difficult in most desktops and laptops. First check to see if your motherboard has an NVME slot and if it has a drive. If it does, and you only have one slot, there’s an easy way to deal with that by either cloning the drive to a hard drive (which requires a lot more steps) or grab an NVME USB adapter.

With the adapter simply boot in to windows and clone the existing NVME drive to the new on mounted with the USB adapter, then swap the drives once completed. There are plenty of guides on how to do it on YouTube and Best Buy’s geek squad can also do this for you and probably not for much more than buying the adapter with a lot less effort! For me, once the upgrade was complete, loading programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator seem to load slightly faster than they did before and skipping through videos in preview was noticeably faster on 4k videos recorded with my phone.

I’d definitely recommend this upgrade, especially if you have a hard drive or a smaller boot drive and you do a lot of media editing or consumption.

I used these three WD Red Plus 14TB drives to replace three WD Red 4TB drives in my home QNAP 4-bay NAS that were just about full. Both are in a RAID 5 configuration. The process to replace these drives went fine and I lost no data and now I have a bunch more space.

The new drives are faster and have more cache. About 2-weeks in and I have had no problems. A few months ago, I saw the 10TB drives on sale, but was unable to complete and order on the web site, but this time the order went just fine.

Shipping across country took about a week.

Purchased a My Cloud EX2 Ultra with two 4 TB Red Drives in August 2019; Drive 1 degraded in June 2020, replaced with a new 4 TB Red Drive, connected to an UPS; upgraded to OS5; in September, 2021, the power led of my My Cloud EX2 Ultra turned red and Dashboard showed that my disk degraded, replaced Drive 1 with the RMA replacement received in 2020; in 3 weeks, the Disk 1 led of my My Cloud EX2 Ultra turned red and Dashboard showed that Disk 1 was bad.

Don’t know if the enclosure caused the problem.

PLEASE BE WARNED! 4 TB does NOT mean exactly 4 TB unless you know how to measure. Western Digital makes very good hardware, but they’re a bit sneaky on advertising the drive sizes. Most drive manufacturers will market a drive saying that it is a specific size when in fact the actual usable size is smaller.

Basically, they use byte sizes measured in steps of 1,000 when the computer will actually read them in steps of 1024. Thus, the ACTUAL readout will be approx. 3. 6 TB, NOT 4 TB. Knowing this beforehand would have saved me some trouble planning on hardware upgrades.

Still, this drive does well, and it has some nice built-in features that will keep it stable for years to come. WD is an excellent hardware brand, and they include features that no other hard drive brand has, but don’t be fooled by size measurements!.

Unfortunately, my dogs didn’t like this kibble. My Rusty is a 6 year old AST, 85 pounds & he has never been a picky eater. He has Never left food in his bowl, but he wasn’t interested in this food. I honestly think his disinterest had more to do with the small size, the smell(lack of) & the texture of the kibble bites than the quality of the food.

I bought the senior kibble for my Chelsea, 12 years old, 55 pound APBT & she also had to be repeatedly coaxed into trying the kibble. Her top front teeth are somewhat worn down from years of chewing on beef bones, sticks, wood decks, fences & furniture 😉.

When some of tiny kibble pieces fell out of her mouth, she nudged them away with her nose & walked away from the bowl. Both of my dogs are now eating different Hill’s prescription diets (large dry kibble & canned) based upon their individual health needs.

I still can’t believe we have to request prescriptions from a Vet in order to purchase a specific dog food, but I’m trying to do what’s best for my dogs. Based upon the reactions from my two large dogs, adult & senior aged & who are definitely not picky eaters, I am disappointed with my purchase.

I can’t recommend this food especially for large breed dogs who typically eat large sized dry kibble. I’m very pleased that you are ethically/humanely producing high quality dog food & was willing to pay more to feed my dogs to support a company like yours, but they both didn’t like the Senior Recipe or the Grass Fed Beef Recipe.

I’m a pet sitter so I see TONS of different food brands with all my clients but I noticed one of my clients using Open Farm and her animals had great body composition and poop, this is important. I’ve raw fed for years but due to life being crazy I miscalculated my last order and needed to supplement with kibble to make it to the next delivery.

I got the Pork and the Salmon flavored kibble and both my younger girls have done great on it. I got the freeze dried for my older girls with more allergies and my 17 yr old JRT loves it. She hated all kibbles and that’s why I switched to raw years ago because of her allergies and skin issues and being so picky and she loves her raw but now she demands some of both in her breakfast, 6pm dinner, 8pm whatever’s left in the dinner bowl, and then a little 10pm snack.

And who am I to deny the queen of the house anything in life. I recommended the food and sent a baggie of it home with one of my clients with a picky eater and he inhaled it and she placed an order and now another boarding pup was having tummy issues on her food and her mom asked me for a suggestion and I told her we’d try the freeze dried and let me tell you, I’ve been keeping this dog for years and this is the most energetic and playful I’ve ever seen her and she’s a 10yr old catahoula who normally chills and stays to herself.

I just emailed her mom a 5 min video of her playing with my dogs in the yard. That has never happened. I truly believe it’s the change in food. My older girls have already requested that I put the Pork freeze dried on autoship so I will be doing that soon.

First, it took me MONTHS to discover a kibble that worked for my now 8 month old 50lb Ridgeback/Pitbull baby. At 3 months, she was originally on hills science large breed chicken puppy food until I discovered she has a bad chicken sensitivity.

We moved to merrick beef & sweet potato but still didn’t solve the issue… Then we tried OpenFarm beef & ancient grain. There was a slight improvement but nothing consistent. We moved away from ancient grains to see if just beef would help.

Again, improvement but no luck. I was adding pumpkin and boiled egg whites and OpenFarm beef broth to try helping bad tummy issues. Then she got what I believe was giardia (the worst!) and with everything thing going wrong, I researched lamb and venison benefits.

With the venison option being a little too much for my pocket, we tried OpenFarm lamb. At first I figured it was making things worse! Her poops were terribly watery at times. She was on an antibiotic and probiotics at the time.

That’s when I began adding oatmeal to her kibble. After that, VOILA!!! Improvement! We are now only using the lamb kibble with an added tablespoon of cooked oats and water to soften. Her poops are consistently FIRM and healthy! No more bad tummy issues.

I’m afraid to try any other dog food based on how bad things were so we’re gonna stick with what’s working for us. I am SOOOOOOOO happy the bad tummy phase is over (knock on wood) as it was racking up the vet costs.

If you are having stomach problems with your fur baby, and even beef isn’t cutting it, I certainly suggest the lamb dry dog food. Anytime I prep her food she sits waiting. The aroma definitely grabs her before hearing the food hit the bowl.

I hope you find a healthy option that solves your pups problems!.

I purchased this passport as a replacement for a my passport with a smaller capacity. I have been using it for about 4 weeks. Although it seems to be functioning normally. I’m giving it 3 stars because it took me several days to figure out why the software didn’t work.

I had to search online for a solution and then verify with customer service that the packaged software was no longer supported. The fix was to download Acronis True Image. It’s mind boggling to think a company would market a product with obsolete software! I’m sure everyone else’s time is as important to them as mine is important to me, so for wasting mine, plus the frustration, WD gets a 3.

Shame on you WD for your horrible product control.

I just bought this at Walmart. It’s going back in the morning. The software wouldn’t install. It kept getting stuck at 18%. Then I looked on the website and the manufacturer commented to someone else with the exact same problem “You don’t need software to use the device.

” What?? Even if we don’t, why include software that says to install if it’s not needed and then blow customers off if it doesn’t work? Then I finally got it installed and the sign-in to Google failed because of an “application error.

” I signed into my OneDrive and it was supposed to move the data over. I looked on the drive afterward. nothing there. And now I’m trying to install WD Utility and it’s stuck at about 75%. My computer is only 6 months old, by the way.

If I can’t rely on this device to even install its own software, I sure as heck am not going to trust it to back up my files.

Hardware Used: ASUS Prime B560-Plus motherboard i5-11500 CPU paired with Enermax ETS-T40fit (200W TDP) CPU Cooler WD SN 850 500GB gen 4 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD Patriot Memory Viper Steel (2×8 GB) DDR4-3600MHz XMP memory 500 GB capacity drive is more than enough for me, only Samsung and Western Digital have something less than 1 TB.

Knowing that Samsungs 500GB and smaller capacity 980 Pro drives may have uncleared cache problems causing very slow speed after one month or so, I chose this WD SN 850 model with the hope of avoiding similar problem.

This is my first build of 11th generation Intel CPU and PCIe 4. 0 motherboard. Buying this SSD is just something that I WANT but not something that I NEED. When installing WIN 10 to the new PC, the first step is to copy files to the drive after product key verification.

I just could not believe my eyes that the Copying Files process was completed at the blink of my eyes. It was so fast, completed in one second (installed from 128 GB Samsung Fit flash drive, up to 300MB/s).

The same copying process for my previous builds took two minutes or so for PCIe 3. 0 motherboard with 2. 5 SATA3 SSD (installed from DVD drive) or fifteen minutes or so for PCIe 2. 0 motherboard with 7200 RPM mechanical HDD (from DVD drive).

Win 10 probably had the files to be copied read ahead into memory, otherwise even the flash drive with 300 MB/s still could not get it done in one second. That is how I can appreciate the speed of this drive, otherwise I just do not have daily tasks that demand such a high speed to make it noticeably faster than my other PCIe 3.

0 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD PC. I ran different benchmark programs for this drive, only listing sequential reads here. Userbenchmark ~ 3,500 MB/s (at this point I thought I got a Gen 3 M. 2 NVMe drive) Samsung Magician ~ 6,358 MB/s AS SSD ~ 5,500 MB/s Crystal Disk Mark ~ 6,940 MB/s WDs Dashboard has nothing to test benchmark All programs (including BIOS and Win 10) indicated the model is WDS500G1X0E, not WD SN 850.

I will not complain here that the speed is not close to 7,000 MB/s spec, probably because 500 GB models use smaller cache than 1 TB or 2 TB models. There is always a discount in speed for smaller capacity models.

With this drive and the hardware configurations, I can compile a video of about ten and a half minutes in one and half minute, that is, in about 14. 8% of the video duration. My other PC with PCIe 3.

0 motherboard and gen 3 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD compiling the same video took about 26% of the duration time to complete. Will buy more in the future for Linux and Win11 if the price can drop significantly.

I’ve had this drive for a while. It is amazing, only gets hot a bit and needs a bit cooling. Now i purchaed the second drive but i’ve realized that the model code on the new one was different “WDBAPY0010BNC” the first drive was “WDS100T1X0E” So i decided to make some search on internet, the products that was tested by some autohrities and reviewers on the internet had tested the “WDS100T1X0E” Also on WD product page for SN850 1TB w/out heatsink is said as the model: WDS100T1X0E.

SO now I have big doubts on this new drive? I don’t think that it is fake cuz this model is also sold by well known sellers, but what is it then? Is it a revised model which includes cheaper components that is produced special for Asia market?? Did WD do smt.

like the other companies infamous on such tricks? First produce the high performing model to be tested by everyone, then after 6 months sell the second version with the same brand name for a cheaper price? I saw some comments on the forums but i couldn’t find any concrete proof that is the exactly same drive.

Is there anything that Western Digital tell on it?.

The WD SN850 and the Seagate FireCuda 530 are the best NVMe’s for upgrading your PS5, as after all the upgrades and installations have completed, you are only left with just over 600gb. After installing Horizon Zero dawn (PS4) and Control (PS5), I was left with only 460gb.

So, yes you need to get a storage upgrade. I have x16 PS5 games and lots of PS4 games which run at a better frame rate with a 4K graphics upgrade. So this was a no brainer, make sure you upgrade your PS5 firmware to the latest version or it won’t recognise the NVMe storage.

Also, one it formats the NVMe for use, I found that it gave me inaccurate read speeds of 5156 gbps when it should be up to 7000 gbps. I checked a few YouTube channels regarding this and it appears to be a normal thing until the firmware is finely tuned.

The FireCuda got read speeds of 6170 gbps when it should be 7300 gbps. But that aside, it performs as advertised, switching between games is a breeze and loads times are next gen as are update installations.

A Far Cry from my PS4 with a 2TB Seagate SSD upgrade (pun intended).

Great bargain! A friend had one, and it’s the only saddle found with a really wide gullet. I bought one to fit a wide muscular shouldered horse. The bars have too much rock (curve from front to back for my new Appaloosa though.

It’s hard to shim for a straight back without reducing the gullet width On any saddle, so I have to ride her in an English Wintec with extra-wide gullet insert. My western Wintec “New Generation close contact“ wasn’t wide enough for her.

It’s not heavy, for a western saddle, (Says 23 lb) but it’s too heavy for me to lift onto my 15. 2 hh horse easily. I had to carry it balanced on my head, climb onto a mounting block, and kind of drop it on her back.

So it’s kind of a blessing it doesn’t really fit her due to the rock in the panels. ;).

Not the same as the picture it actually has flowers instead of the stars which I like much more. It also came with a cinch, back cinch, and a saddle blanket. I have not had the chance to use it yet but I really love it even has a 5 year warranty.

The reins could be better, also I did not like the oils that were still on the latigo the breast collar clip is a little hard to open but not bad. I also love how much padding is on the saddle.

With MANY caveats, this is an extremely useful upgrade to My Passport Ultra HHD. The form factor, weight, warranty and USB-C connection is worth the $$$. While the HHD from 2016 is still going strong, it is an HHD and the Time Machine Back Ups I’ve been using it for do have a lifespan if the HHD fails; which they can and will.

The Passport is a SSD so Read & Writes are faster, no vibrations, will last significantly longer and comes with 5 year warranty instead of the 3 year with the ULTRA. The SSD doesn’t get as warm as the HHD due to no moving parts, and can slip into your pocket with ease.

CAVEATS as noted: My Mac Pro Intel using Disk Utility took many attempts to erase and format to Mac OS Extended Journaled and then APFS for Time Machine Backups. Received consistent Failed attempts. Took many partitioning adjustments, Mac restarts, unplugging Passport and attempts to finally get a viable automatic backup available but this Passport finally succeeded.

While I would recommend whole heartedly for use with a Mac or Pc as a backup or drive extension; if you want to use for Time Machine, I hope you have an easier time than I. Another word of caution, this SSD comes with some Paragon software which you don’t need and I’d advise not to use as it’s not ready for Monterey but can be used in pre OS’s.

Bought WD 2TB My Passport to use as storage for my photography files on my new MacBook pro 2019 running OS12. 4 Monterey. First, This drive seems to be not fully compatible with the smart drive utilities.

After using the drive for less than a yr. It started showing a failure on the WD app drive tests. Yet passed on Apples disk utilities. Did an RMA and WD sent me a new drive. Which failed the WD quick drive test.

And again, The Apple disk utilities shows as passed. Did a reformat from the one it shipped with to APFS. Drive still shows as failed on WD utility but passes in Apple disk utilities. The SSD drive seems to be accepting data from my other WD drive.

So I’m sat here scratching my head as to what is going on. WD own smart utilities won’t fully work on this drive and shows it as failing a quick drive test. Apple utilities shows the drive as fine. Drive is accepting data from another WD drive via a third party backup/copy app.

Bottom line. This drive while fast and compact. Can’t be trusted and isn’t even compatible with it’s manufacturers own utilities program.

I purchased 2 of these SDD drivers in Jan of 2021 (both are 2TB models). Transfer speeds are fast and good when using the drive. Response time of the drive is slow when the drive is inactive and then reactivated to dump files on the drive (especially when building folders or navigating folders quickly within the drive).

However, my complaint is that last week one of the two drives suddenly stopped working during a file transfer. Then the drive showed up as renamed (not the name it was given) and blank of any data (note: drive was getting closer to 80% full).

Contacted local SanDisk and had the drive sent to them but they were unable to recover the data and only planned to replace the drive free of charge. However, with replacement they would not send the old drive back.

Since I really need the data I did not agree to the replacement and am having the drive sent back to me. Possibly I will try another third party to recover the data. I have been using external hard drives for the past 20 years and never ever had an issue with HDD drives.

This is my first experience with a WD SDD drive and it is terrible. Only 9 months after purchase and failure and unable to recover my data. Also, unable to replace the drive without full surrender of the broken drive.

I have no concern to surrender the old drive if they can recover data. Even no discount to keep the old drive on new drive purchase. Solution for a bad product is just to replace a new one – whatever happened to building a quality product? This is customer’s data that the drive is suppose to be securing.

9 months on a drive that cost over 300USD. Drive was cared for and always placed in a case, never dropped, never outside or damaged in any way.

I’ve been wearing my cherry colored Eastwood boots every day since I got them. It took me about 4 days of breaking-in period, but now they are very comfortable. The calfskin leather is high quality, the stitching is clean and precise, and the overall craftsmanship is great.

The 1 1/2 inch angled “walking heel” is just the right height for all day comfort and the medium round toe shape is perfect for my taste. Being an ole fashioned guy who prefers to see and touch things in person before buying, I went to the Cuero warehouse (located outside of Houston) to try on the boots.

There is a small area for retail “walk in customers” and the sales lady (Beth ?) was very helpful and professional. The actual fit was a tad more narrow than my normal D shoe size, but going up 1/2 size solved that tight fit issue.

The color on my boots is also darker than the lighter, more reddish “cherry” color shown in the ads and website. The darker colored accent areas on the toes and heel cups are perfect in my opinion. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my Cuero boots.

I haven’t purchased a new set of Cowboy boots in years, mainly due the price of anything decently made. Well I had been looking at your site for a couple of months, reading reviews etc. I was a bit leery of almost everything being so positive but had just about decided to go ahead and pull the trigger and purchase a pair.

Well when I got the email for your Valentines sale I knew I would probably never see a lower price so I placed an order. I received my Cherry colored Eastwoods last week and to say I was very satisfied is an understatement.

If you are having doubts about ordering these boots, don’t! These boots are comfortable right out of the box and are also a great price. I am a size 10. 5 D in regular shoe size but had to go down to a 9.

5 D for these boots. The Ariat boots I have are also that size so I should’ve know that but this could vary for you. The size was perfect but there was just an issue with the left boot fitting a bit tight around the ball area but luckily living in Houston I was able to visit their warehouse.

I was helped by Alfonso and Raul and they were able to get my 9. 5 D boots stretched out to fit perfectly. Alfonso even went as far as showing me Tecova boots and letting me try them on to compare. I can tell you Cuero boots are way better.

I am looking forward to what other products they bring out in the future. I will definitely be recommending these boots to everyone I know and buying more pairs in the future.

Hennessy is an amazing Brandy (cognac) that is made in Cognac France. It was first made in 1765 by Richard Hennessy. By 1840 he was selling Brandy all over the world and was the biggest distributor in the world.

To this day Hennessy is still the biggest distributor selling 70 million bottles a year. I’m glad they made such and amazing Brandy because I love the way it taste. Hennessy is good in cola, ginger ale,orange juice pineapple juice and cranberry juice.

You can use Hennessy to make a Henny Margarita a San Fran sour, or Henny with Red Bull. Just be careful how much you drink. It is very strong. I would definitely recommend Henny any day.

My favorite drink of all time! Very Bold, Strong and Love the hard, raging, burning alcoholic taste that most liquors can’t replicate! This is the Budweiser of all liquors! For experienced drinkers only, I highly recommend drinking straight, or a mix over ice with a strong high performance energy drink such as NOS or Red Bull! However, if you’re not an experienced drinker, someone that doesn’t drink regularly, or moderately.

then, this is not the drink for you because, it’s very strong and burns like hell!.

This drink right here tastes horrible and will make you know or become acquainted with what heartburn feels like in my opinion. When I drink this, I literally feel it falling down my esophagus and it’s dropping into my stomach.

I know that can sound dramatic, but Hennessy is really strong. In college this was my go to drink because it got the job done. If you read my comments you know I like things I get the job done, and Hennessey is one of them.

If you trying to have a good time this is a drink for you. ** Although, based off of observation Hennessey brings out different sides of people. I know some will say that’s alcohol in general, but i do believe different drinks alter your moods differently.

Some people can be more  aggressive, lovey dovey, sleepy etc. Try this at home before drinking It when your out.
