20 Best Weight Lifting Belt For Big Guys (2023 Updated)

Belt looks and feels good. Going to use this 7mm for the gym and the 10mm lever I have from here for competing. The lever belt is also fantastic and has not failed my expectations. Anything I have gotten from Gymreapers has been exceptional and I will continue to look here first.

Great belt. Soft and comfortable. Does not pinch. Size guide is correct and my belt fits perfect. Would definitely recommend this belt to anyone who is looking for one but is unsure about starting out with a lever belt.

It’s a well made belt and does what a belt should do, but the sizes run tight. I know how to measure around my naval, and the sizing chart assigned me a small. I can only reach the first notch on the belt; so it gets the job done, just make sure to account for bloat!.

I though It worked well, but was not my size so I exchanged it, expecting it to take forever and be a hassle, but let me tell you: This experience has been the BEST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. EVER. 10/10 will be buying from gymreapers for all my futuer gym needs.

The only downside here is they don’t sell protein powder or preworkout.

Was looking for an easy to use and lightweight belt for squats and deadlifts. This belt is incredibly light, the buckle provides a tight lock when strapping up. Perfect for providing back support during your workouts.

I’m not the strongest guy in the world, yet and I didn’t need a more expensive belt, yet. So this is the perfect compromise. Down 1 star because sometimes it’s not the easiest to unlock but it’s a minor gripe.

Writing this review after more than a month of usage. This is a decent quality entry level belt that is good for its price. The belt is rigid enough to provide a good amount of intra-abdominal pressure without being too uncomfortable or restrictive.

It does an admirable job for beginner to intermediate lifters. So far, I have not had any issue with regards to durability. I would suggest threading the end of the strap through a elastic headband like you see in my photos rather than the actual belt loop.

It adds convenience as well as reducing wear and tear. I think a lot of the durability issues that I’ve seen from other customers stem from having to bend or fold the strap excessively in order to thread the strap through the loop, more so if you have a lot of extra strap remaining.

Word of warning: Don’t expect some premium grade leather when buying this belt. Usually top grain leather belts cost at least over $100. This is made from low quality leather bonded by glue. The outer layer of the belt is actually a hard plastic material made to look like leather.

However, it is generally a good product that does its job and provides good value especially when it’s on sale.

I am not a weightlifter! However, I do a lot of back breaking work involved with landscaping like carrying timber sleepers, bricks, bags of sand and cement; lifting numerous items and digging holes. My Harbinger 6in Leather Weight Lifting Belt has been invaluable.

It provides great support and I feel refreshed after a hard days work.

I bought this belt about a month ago and has worked great. I use it mainly for squatting and deadlifting. Nice cushion on the back and heavy duty buckle. I prefer a buckle style over the Velcro belt.

I’ve had Velcro belt let loose while lifting.

Training belt is great for when you need that extra support when doing back and leg exercises. I usually only use it when I’m doing squats but also to stabilize my lower back and makes me stand with better posture when walking around if needed like when I had SI issues.

Adjustable velcro straps for tightening but does loosen a bit over time and use. Overall still a great product.

Before purchasing this belt I tried some larger ones and some other nylon/velcro belts. While they all had their pros and cons, none were perfect. The leather belts were heavy, uncomfortable, and I couldn’t get a good fit while the nylon belts failed to offer much support and doing hold well under strain.

I finally caved and bought this belt five months ago and have used it almost daily since then. It is quite possibly the perfect belt. I have done heavy squats and dead lifts, cleans, I’ve even done double under with it on during a WOD and felt perfectly comfortable with it on.

I’m actually writing this review right before purchasing another. Why? Because I have gotten in the best shape of my adult life and actually now need one size down. I wish they took trade ins because this belt is so durable, 100 work outs later and it still may as well be brand new.

This belt is a good light lifting belt, and the tapered fit is great. It is super comfortable. The velcro inner/outer feature is cool, but it’s hard on the velcro – and maybe I’m not careful enough. After 8 months of using it 3 nights a week, the inner loop velcro was coming loose.

BUT – I sent Schiek customer service an email, and they said ship it up here and we’ll fix it. That’s exactly what happened – I sent it up there and they fixed it and sent it back in 3 days. Now it’s like new, and I’m going to be a little more careful with the velcro.

My next belt will be a Schiek.

The Valeo Competiton Classic 4-Inch Lifting Belt is very convenient, especially when you’re moving out and need extra assistance. It’s very useful for carrying heavy items for long distance without your arms giving out right away.

I am a competitive powerlifter and track & field (shot put), this belt keeps tight around my mid section, great compression when I need it. I also have two competition leather belt for powerlifting, but this 4 inch wide Valero works great for throwing weights, and for bench pressing.

I am a 305 pound strength athlete, and the XL belt fits great!.

Prefer this over the leather one. It just sits more comfortable. The material is more flexible so I can leave it on between exercises. You pay for the quality, because the knock off ones fall apart in the wash.

Excellent for increasing intra abdominal pressure for the major lifts. Leather is quite stiff at the moment as it’s brand new, so it can dig into the core regions, specifically by the bony landmarks of the hip girdle and lower ribs.

However I expect this to loosen in due course after more use. Otherwise a great belt and generally comfortable.

My 3 kids have been training in MMA for the past 4 years, over time I have purchased many brands of gloves for them and I gotta say RDX are a very high quality brand and my kids really like them. I highly reccomend!.

Its a good quality product at the great price. Really gives my back good support during my workout. Would definitely recommend.

The belt really conforms well to my waist being made of leather, it moulds to your shape with use. The tan colour appeals to me in general giving it a classy/professional look including the brand like ‘Iron Tanks’ slogan.

The quick release buckle really is a benefit, no more struggling with trying to tighten and feed buckle pins through each hole. Finally the sturdy, screw-in rivets are ideal as the tin, press rivets in my last belt rusted out and popped.

Colour of the product is different especially it is not the exact blue car that is shown in the pictures here. Picture is edited. If anyone who see this review just what to let you know it’s dark blue in colour.

I paid price for the colour that us shown on here. Also, minor wear and tear on the belt on both sides. Cannot count the item I got as brand new. Don’t buy if you also does not want to feel the way I am feeling.

As a competitive Olympic lifter, I have erred on using a Velcro strap for years. I was always curious, but dismissed it as a nice to have. Eventually I pulled up my big boy pants, and decided to invest in the Quake after chatting to a powerlifter on improving my bottom line raw numbers.

While I cannot use the belt in competition, what I can say is for training (and I do allot under load) I am never ever going back. The investment Is well worth it, get a burley buckle, I have the Goliath to ensure I don’t struggle with the crank.

The lockdown is awesome, the core stacking it creates is phenominal. I still haven’t worn it in, so people be prepared for a bite but it will be well worth it.

I lift heavy weights both during squats and dead lifts. However this belt slips time and again and does not provide support. Would like to have refund back

I followed the measuring instructions to find my size belt I should buy. According to instructions I was an XL. So, I bought it. I received it and the adjust is set to the last notch. I should have bought the Large.

But, the belt is great. Good support. I’m sure it would be even better if I’d bought the correct size.

How I have made it this long without this belt is a mystery to me. The quick release feature is a godsend to be comfortable between sets. I love not having to fumble with buckles and prongs. I sprung for the steel quick realease and visually amazing.

Its a simply perfect all round belt. something in between my old super thick power lifting belt & a traditional soft leather belt =super functional support with double prongs & is peronally number 1 favourite belt ever owned wouldnt trade it ever.

The outer suede feel texture quality feels pretty opulent & expensive looking for the gym but heck why not enjoy nice touch to detail with the white baseball stitch & embroidered “Gasp” logo pops with contrast.

This is a really nice belt. It is high quality leather and medal clasp. Way better than my old Velcro and fabric one. It fits perfect and helps with all my lift.

I recently finished rehab from2 car accidents and bought the JerkFit RTB Weight Belt once I had the all clear to get back in the gym. I wanted a little more support this time around as I rebuilt my body.

The belt is super light weight, packs down real neat in a gym bag, but more importantly offer the same if not better abdominal compression than a traditional leather belt in my opinion. This is a Velcro belt that can snug down to places a leather belt can’t.

Great belt. Helps protect my lower back during weight training on heavy days. The belt does not feel too thick and provides great support. I am also able to make it tighter than the traditional leather belts.

It’s lighter than the leather belts as well which makes it easier to carry around in my gym bag.

This belt does the job. It is light weight and surprisingly sturdy. I used the fit guide and measured as the guide suggested. I’m glad I swallowed my pride and bought the size recommended by the fit guide (My wife was supposed to humanely end my existence if I ever got this big, but here we are… working hard to carve up this fatted steer).

I mainly power lift, but I also do “CrossFit” on the weekends. This belt provides comfortable support for both. The metal loop seems a bit thin, but I guess that’s the price you pay for trimming down the weight: A concept I am trying to grasp, though my mind says, “Bigger is better.

” All in all, I am very pleased with my recent purchase. A powerlifting friend has had the same belt for a while, and he is pleased with the durability. Time will tell for mine.

The nylon camp belt arrived yesterday and I’m very pleased with the purchase. Took it to the gym early 13 February 2022 and used and abused it for two hours, HoooAh, this belt stood up to the test. Strong and very secure fit.

Just lite enough I did not have to remove it when changing lifts and doing body weight exercises like push ups and chin ups. Light enough for comfort and strong for dead lifts and squats. This is a great purchase and it fit perfect right out of the box.

When your life is on the line you take fitness serious and I will wear this belt in my “Courage Corner” I would not encourage you to purchase one but I would encourage you to buy it now, don’t hesitate.

Upgraded from an older nylon belt and saw a substantial increase in the overall stiffness and pressure I was able to generate during lifts. 5/5 for style, stitching, and stiffness. 4/5 on closure system.

The only part worth questioning. it’s the double-edged sword with the one velcro strap: Pro – Quick release, tighten with one hand. Con – Velcro does wear out. Already seeing slight wear (2 mo in), nothing outside the normal, it’s just what happens without a buckle or clasp tightening system.

At this price point, it is probably the best nylon belt on the market. Great work Rogue! Would purchase again.

This is the best weightlifting belt I’ve ever used, and I’ve used a few in my time! The belt is easy to adjust to give an exact fit and does not move about once it’s in place. Gives great support to the lower back when I need it – I have had issues with my lower back in the past and I feel confident with this belt that it’s safe to use and won’t cause ore back issues in future.

I have been using a Harbinger weight belt for the past 29+ years due to necessity. I injured my back when I was 19 years old at work and have been wary of proper lifting and injuring myself all over again.

The Velcro on my older belt was getting loaded with sweatshirt material, so it was an excuse to get a new one, eventhough I could easily have just cleaned it. The way this one is designed gives far better support than any other that I have had before as well as keeping my back warm, which is an added bonus.

This will be my 30th year dealing with this injury come this May, and I am glad that I have purchased this particular belt. I might just get back into deep squats again. well maybe I’m getting to far ahead of myself, but I feel that confident with this belt.

Bought this for my husband who needs to help his disabled mom, lifting her and such. He couldn’t do without it. This was a replacement of the exact same one that had the velcro go out. He loves and needs this belt.

this product is not adjustable and is designed for plus sized individuals. the weight belt slides right off me unless i arch my back significantly. the less weight used, the easier it slips off. for small weights, i managed to pass the chain through the buckles to use as a belt of sorts.

the chain isn’t long enough to do this with large weights.

I have have been staying in shape with weight lifting since junior year in high school so I am familiar weight lifting belts. My belt of many years, since 1966, is being retired. I am knocking on the door of 80 years and this belt works for and it does fill my needs.

It is easy to put on provides support for my back. I would not recommend it for young power lifter but ample enough for beginners. Weight lifters or supporting the back around other lifting at home or work.

This is a great fitting and economic lifting belt. It provides more support than most belts do.

This is an excellent belt. It’s similar to that “famous” belt in design and function with it’s lever style clasp and super durable material. For the price, it can be touched. Othe belts like this cost at least $65.

There are a couple of issues that kept me from rating this 5/5 stars. First, it’s way too large. This can be fixed by cutting off a foot or more off the end, and punching new holes to re-attach the lever.

This is is easily done with the right tools. The other issue is that the holes on the opposite side of the lever attachment are cut in an oval shape. This allows the clasp to slide as outward force is applied by your abdomen.

The prongs appear to be ready to slip from the holes, which is no reassuring on heavy lifts. I will be cutting smaller round holes to remedy this. Overall, this is a solid product at an unbeatable price.

Good quality belt, unfortunately the large size isn’t all that large and doesn’t fit my 34-36 US waist. Ended up giving to a friend. Make sure you measure before you take advantage of the good price!
