The gameplay is simply not good. I play online seasons only. I can’t imagine how many updates it will take to fix the garbage that makes me rage quit every time I play. There are times when facing Messi or Neymar that they can just wiggle wiggle wiggle through your defense and you can’t even switch to the correct defender in time to do anything.

The R stick switching is consistently inaccurate. When I ping a ball across the pitch to switch the play, no matter the player, they will chest it down and take ages to settle the ball. By the time the ball is under control and ready to dribble, the defenders have recovered and I’ve lost my numbers advantage.

Makes it so easy to overload ball side and trap the opponent. R1+O passed are always too low, might as well be double tap passes. Can’t even clear the head of a midget. They’ll just intercept it and automatically direct it towards their goal with perfect weight and the counter is on.

When defending a corner kick, there’s always one player that’s standing around the halfway line to start a counter. That player is consistently the wrong option. When using Chelsea, why would I want Jorginho there? He’s slow! When using Bayern, why put Gnabry there when I have Coman and Sane on the pitch? And I can’t control this.

If I play a formation like 4-2-3-1 and instruct my striker to always stay forward, I don’t want to see him coming back to the box to defend. I need him forward as an outlet, but he just doesn’t listen, even Lewandowski and Ronaldo.

If I set a formation with a winger and am attacking through the middle, that winger will just not get involved. They stay wide on their touchline and just watch me get swarmed by defenders without providing any useful outlet or attacking runs.

If I’m driving the ball up the middle with my CAM, I don’t need the striker to drop back as a false nine. That’s useless. He should be making himself a target, but instead drops behind the ball and doesn’t go in the box at all PSG are playing awfully in real life, but their live form doesn’t indicate that.

And everybody just uses PSG because of it. No gameplay variety. This will be the last fifa I buy for a few years at least.

Purposely held off with this review to give it a couple of weeks and to see what others thought of the game via Twitch. Definitely mixed reviews and thoughts on this game but did notice the same criticism being mentioned.

I’ll start first with the few things I’m not a fan of and noticed most so far, both player and ball movement is utterly slow, defending is horrible at the best of times and there is little to no difference from swapping gameplay mode from normal to fast.

Shots from inside the box are a surprise packet yet taking a blast or long shot seems to be the play so far for 22? also I’ll just add that just after half time the game does this slow glitch thing for about 5-10 seconds while in game, even after installing the game again.

I must admit 22 has made it from what I believe a bit easier this time around to get headers from corner kicks and crosses coming in. Goal Keepers are a lot better than 21, it’s probably the only thing in the game that feels like they got movement right on.

FIFA seems locked on this Volta thing but I guess for people that like it, it breaks the gameplay down a bit with new arcade modes added this time. I’ll finish this off by saying that I totally understand with every new Fifa we must adapt to the current changes each year and I still have a lot to learn about all aspects of the game.

This year’s FIFA is a mixed bag. The graphics and haptics are impressive but the gameplay still has question marks for me. I have experienced multiple glitches in the game even with the bi-weekly patches.

The microtransactions are terrifying. Beware, the learning curve from FIFA 21 to 22 is steep. Goalkeepers are both awful and amazing this year. They save impossible shots but fail to save simple ones.

The AI defense can be frustrating but you can learn to put up with it. Overall, I appreciate that they tried something different but it lacks quality.

This is absolutely without doubt the worse game I’ve ever played. Full of glitches from invisible players and players with green and blue square patterned skin. I’ve been playing Fifa since 98 and this has no doubt made me think about ever buying a Fifa game again.

I know it’s on switch and is a legacy addition so I bought this knowing it wasn’t going to be great but wow did it exceed all my expectations! Clearly just a money grab! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!.

DO NOT BUY THIS My kid went to target and bought this for his brother for Xmas. Cashier asked if he wanted the receipt and he said no. Come Christmas Day my son tries to load the game and on THE BACK of the card it states you need a code on the receipt to claim the game.

REALLY?! So my son is out $40 because Nintendo has a ridiculous set up for these with a note only on the back of the card. And the target cashier should have required my kid to take the receipt. So annoyed.

Will not purchase any more Nintendo gift cards.

Enjoying Fifa 22 game and good game play and loving it

They really screwed up the dynamics of this game making gameplay more cumbersome and rigid. The fluidity of the game is gone and they made PSG too powerful. Literally the same match-up everytime you play, your team VS the cheat code team.

Definitely takes away from the online fun. Their matchmaking algorithm is also way off. When I was in Division 6 I was Vsing Division 1 opponents. I restrict matchmaking to similar star teams, I use 3.

5 stars. Without fail, Im matched every single time with a 5* PSG team. They really need to fix this issue. Makes the game utterly unplayable for the purists.

I buy FIFA every year and finally the champions league has been included in this years version. I think this has to be my favorite addition because while you could previously play in cup tournaments, or create your own tournaments, hearing the theme and seeing champions league in a FIFA game just feels long overdue.

Now onto the gameplay and this year FIFA feels intentionally slower. There have been some new mechanics added to the game and so far I am not a big fan of the 50/50 system as it seems random instead of skill or rating based.

I would say the user loses the vast majority of the battles no matter what player you are using. Speaking of which, the attributes too often feel useless. If I play a through ball to an attacker making a run with a higher sprint rating in open space, and they are beyond the much slower defender then the defender should not catch them as often as they do.

I understand that they slowed down the whole game for the sake of realism, however, a fundamental element of the game (real and video) is making intelligent runs that expose the defense with a well timed pass.

This year feels slower and I am sure those who are excellent with some of the newer trick pass animations and shots will excel but overall it makes the game feel a bit less fluid to me. I also think the change in the passing mechanics so that they are less accurate is a huge mistake as far too often simple passes like through balls to open teammates or switches to the opposite side of the pitch go awry even when you are using the best passers in the game.

It’s still a video game and I expect precision not to mention if you watch most of the major leagues around the world, the amount of basic passes that go awry without defensive intervention is minimal.

I do like the new active touch system which is fun especially on volleys but it will take some more time to truly master. The graphics from the players to the stadiums and the pitch continue to look great.

The commentary also is strong with the addition of Lee Dixon and Derek Rae for the Champions league matches. The journey mode which I enjoy is supposed to represent the end of our time with Alex Hunter.

I have not finished it yet but am enjoying the use of the champions league as a focus this year. I also like the ability to play as Kim and Danny a bit more this year. I do wish there were more consequences to choices you make and branching paths that change your story but hopefully this will happen in future iterations as it would also give the mode more replay value if they had more endings.

Ultimate team is the cash cow so as usual it has a ton in it and can be addictive but the best method for advancing still feels like buying as many packs as humanly possible which admittedly makes it less appealing.

If you bought FIFA 18, I would stick with that, otherwise this is not a bad update.

Every year I fight with the question of which soccer title to purchase and every year I end up purchasing both PES and FIFA. Truth be told, I usually end up playing FIFA more than PES. That deciding factor has always come down to licensing and presentation, because both titles play well.

Well, that being said, FIFA again has cornered the market on the licensing, by snatching up the Champions League and also upping the ante in the presentation department. However this year, the gameplay for me feels broken.

I have had several instances where goals were scored by way of animations playing out that I had no control over. Madden Football has become notorious for this and now it appears to have spilled over to FIFA.

This is not a good thing at all. I can give you several examples of this, but the we don’t have enough time. Here is one example. The opposing team took a shot on goal and it deflected off my defender and looked good while doing so, ball physics and all.

And then IT happened. The other offensive player literally slid about 5 yards over, like on ice skates, to put himself in the perfect spot to net the goal, without the players head even tracking the ball or legs moving to run over to that spot.

The play happened so fast I had to watch the replay to figure out how it was possible that the player reacted so insanely fast. And that is when I noticed that it wasn’t anyone reacting or controlling the player at all, it was in fact a pre-determined animation playing out.

WOW!! What a buzz kill. Up to this point, I had never witnessed this occurring in a FIFA title. It is supremely disappointing and frustrating. That was only the first occurrence of many. I have also noticed a crazy amount of players clipping through other players, the ground and their own limbs as well.

It just really feels as though the FIFA development team is banking on the licensing and presentation to carry this game and have left the gameplay unfinished and broken. It’s an easy decision this year for me.

It’s PES all the way. FIFA will be in real trouble if PES can improve on the presentation and licenses, because when it comes to realism on the Pitch. it’s hands down PES. I hope this helps anyone trying to decide what title to pick up this year.

Well, another year, another FIFA. One of my biggest gripes with EA Sports is the similarity year in, year out, kits and players may change but you don’t get a lot new. Well, it seems that way usually but with small improvements.

This year they have included Champions and Europa Leagues along with the normal competitions. The graphics have improved, the gameplay is more realistic and the atmospheres stunning. Working my way through the game today and it’s good.

It’s bloody good. Maybe the purists will find a few mistakes and things not to their liking. I for one thought it a bit unrealistic that most fans wore the same thing! However, that aside, feel the effort that has been put into the game is reasonable.

Price? Well 50 for a game that was around 30 (without the extra material) a couple of years ago, is steep for some. especially if you buy the game year in and year out. But then consider what you are getting for your money.

It works out about 1 a week. If you play it all the time, and some will, it’s well worth it. They could still do more imho. Again weather conditions are limited, commentary is good, but can be repetitive occasionally.

Would like to see more fouls from AI opponents, aggressive behaviour from players, commentators criticising poor refereeing decisions etc. etc. And more variety in the crowd. But then I’m a purist. I rate this 8/10.

There is always room for improvement. But on the whole, very good. It certainly wipes the floor with PES in my opinion. Let’s see more than 1 update throughout the year though, not just after the January transfer window.

FIFA 21 is a really fun game for football (soccer) fans. Like any game, there are pros and cons, so I will include some in case you have yet to buy the game. For me, the game mode that I play the most is FUT (ultimate team), so most of what I say has to do with this game mode.

Pros: -In-game player movements improved compared to FIFA 20. It is a bit easier to control players in the defensive end and catch up to your opponent. Slide tackles are more effective. – They are constantly updating the game to fix glitches, add new items, etc.

– One of the biggest pros: there are a lot more options in ultimate team. – In previous years, in FUT, you could only play rivals and squad bottles by yourself, but they added a new co-ops feature where you can buddy up with a friend to play these game modes.

– You can customize your very own stadium. Goal celebrations (pyro, confetti, etc), crowd chants, pitch patterns, etc. Customize practically every aspect of your stadum. I really like this new addition because it is more visually pleasing.

You can change the colors of the seats, goal, tifos, etc. They have continued to add new features to customize your stadium. – FIFA 21 has been releasing a lot more objectives to complete for those that want to do them.

There are a lot more options for additional rewards, but you of course have to work for them if you want them. They added new “friendly game” challenges to complete for rewards (reward is a special card/player).

With that being said, I am more intrigued to stay playing the game with these new challenges / objectives. -There are a lot of things I can continue to praise, but this will probably go on way too long so I’ll stop right here.

Cons: – The game continues to have some glitches. There have been quite a few times where the servers have been down without prior notice. I have seen many people complain about that already. However, the creators do a great job listening to feedback and try to correct the issues as quick as possible.

– It is still not possible to cross play. That is, you still can’t play against friends that play this exact game on a different console. I want to be able to play this game against friends that have a different console than me.

I have heard that they plan on making the game cross play so you can play against players with a different console as you, which is a positive. They have yet to determine when that will be available, but I will be ecstatic when that happens.

But for now, Xbox players play against Xbox and PlayStation players play against PlayStation. Overall, it is a great game. I’m sure you’ll find yourself playing the game for hours with all the different game modes they have available.

As a buyer of the last ten or so FIFA’s, this one stands out as mechanically the worst one yet. Decent graphics, but I still think some of the players just look WAY OFF. and this fifa’s engine is WORSE than ’20, which is almost hard to understand! The game makes it so easy to attack, and much harder to defend.

They obviously emphasize FUT and online play because the computer is the weirdest AI to play against. on the higher difficulties, you are stuck with an AI where, no matter what player or team they are playing as, they are way more likely to out-possess you.

they do the weirdest trick moves and play in a manner that is just weird, I have no other way of describing it. FIFA 21 is bad. the only things I enjoy are the updates to manager and career mode, making it much more interactive and a fuller experience.

Please, EA, re-do your engine and gameplay mechanics for the next one. Otherwise, it will be the first FIFA I do not buy in years. This one is the first one I TRULY regret buying at launch.

A Classic. It doesn’t matter the year, FIFA is the same year after year. I haven’t played videogames for 10+ years, and I still was able to enjoy, play and win on this game. It’s so simple that it’s sort of a comfort game.

If you like difficulties, then you can play the hardest level or online, and get frustrated by the PRO video game players, but otherwise, it’s just a fun easy game to have in stock. I think one FIFA is enough in your collection, unless you obsessively care for updated rosters, otherwise, enjoy it, and get it every 5 years.

Roster are automatically updated for Champions League, but for the tournaments you will have to play with the oldest roster, and that one will not update. Or I don’t know how. A great feature is that FIFA21 comes with a tutorial built-in, so you can practice as you play, and also, you can practice before each match.

That way you gradually improve.

Everything is Excellent from Gameplay to the Disc and The Case.No signs of Wear and Tear At all.

FIFA 2003 Soccer for XBOX is very fun and very easy to use. I was impressed with the number of leagues and teams available to the player, as well as the different levels of difficulty. You can play along side your favorite team in league or International matches.

Play a full season or tournament,or just a friendly match. Club teams or national teams with great graphics and realistic sounds of the stadiums and commentary on the match itself. great fun!.

Easily and by far the worse iteration of the FIFA football that has been consistently going down hill for years. It has continued to play into the hands of individuals who think good football is characterised by ball juggling acrobats that can run with the ball through teams of other players to score, at the expense of defensive prowess and a tactical appreciation of the game, good arrangement, positioning and passing.

Why on earth do we continue to buy it? Simply because we want player updates to our favourite teams and because FIFA know they can continue to charge the earth for this, while conning people into thinking they have improved gameplay, when all they have done is introduced change for its own sake.

Truly, truly awful. No longer a game for adults – this is arcade nonsense that makes no attempt to emulate a “real life” football experience.

So this was my first FIFA game in a good while. Took some time researching which one was the best in the last ten years as these games come out each year and not much changes to them. So was definitely looking for something different.

FIFA 17 rose to the top because it was the first time the game was powered by the frost bite engine. Having played other games powered by frost bite, I knew this would be a good thing. Overall the game is well done.

Nothing new except smoother animation as a result of the engine. The only major draw back is the lack of a tutorial when it comes to understanding what needs to be done during the skills challenges. Just it tells you press O or X to shoot or pass the ball but other than that, no other info on how to get a great challenge score.

Maybe if I had previous titles this would have been explained. Anywhom I would not pass up on this game as the reviews show that years 18,19,20, and 21 are not all that great. 22 should be for next gen console so thats a different story.

What i bought was just terrible. The case was the only half decent thing about it. Even though it was a bit sticky. Obviously was not bothered to clean the disc and it has fingerprints, deep scratches and dust on it.

All it needed was a good clean and less lies about the condition of the disc. It plays but makes weird sounds. Every other discs i have work normally with normal sounds other then this one. Shame.

The game is incomplete, it’s not fun at all. It’s nearly impossible to play defense, passing is very temperamental it’s great one game garbage the next, games are also scripted you can win 5-1 over a top 3 team playing as a mid table team with mostly your 2nd team starting but loose in extra time 1-0 to a bottom table team with all of your starters in.

Manager mode you get stuck playing 4-5 months with a game every 1-3 days, games keep getting rescheduled where your players can’t rest so you are almost forced to field 2 teams. The Journey mode is ok but also has issues, a mistimed standing tackle knocks your match rating down by.

3 but 2-3 good passes make it improve by. 1 it’s so hard to be consistent for casual players. The ownership part of manager mode is frustrating as well, the rating you get seems random, no matter how successful you are you still have to do all of the goals to get a good rating.

After a few days of playing now I wish I would have just saved my money and stuck with 16,I was atleast having fun on it.

Fifa 18 game has loads of bugs that arnt getting sorted out! Could be good if they do. My FUT squad has a rating of 81 (4. 5 stars) and a chemistry of 92 but yet for me to start the next single player season in FUT on mid-high difficulty rating season I need a rating of 70-75 (3.

5 stars)?? WTF. Its not letting progress unless I forfeit this season and go for a lower rating season! I also finished a game on Squad Battles and got no “Winning Match Results Opts, Skill Bonus Opts, no Goals Opts, no Difficulty Bonus Opts”? But yet I won the game by 5 goals, loads of skill on a medium to high world class difficulty.

(Just take a look at my two pictures i’ve put with this) Also playing the Alex Hunter the journey, its not putting on traits i’ve gained and put in? They seem to be their the next time I play a game and do my stuff afterwards.

Great concept though love it. Playing Career mode, you can’t even change and choose a different formation for your team. I’m playing as a player and not the manager so I’m not sure if you are able to build your own team if you play as manager so I can’t comment on that, I hope you can.

I haven’t bought any footy games for many years since Pro Evo 5, and since fifa 2006 they changed the games game engine making the game play weird ever since. Its only this version seems a little different.

Thats why I bought it after playing the demo on pc. Also its really annoying me that in FUT I’ll play first half and all my team is in good form. The other team is not too differ to mine, then as soon as the second half starts my team are all slow even though all of my teams fitness levels are all still above 60-65% and the opponents seem faster and much better than the first half, so sometimes im getting beat because of this!!!.

I am a long time fan of FIFA, since FIFA ’98 on PC. but after FIFA ’08 I didn’t play that much. This is the first I’ve really played in a long time, and the first in a gaming console. The game-play is good, as always, although the celebration part after the goals could be more divers.

The menu is also not that user friendly. it takes some serious getting used to it. The Manager Campaign mode is nice, although I’m missing some easy to access statistics (goals, cards, etc. ) I’m sure they are in, but not as easy to find.

I like the training sessions at the beginning of the match. Helps to learn the controls (useful to me since I’m new on console). All-in-all it is a fun game to play, and really time consuming once you really get into it!.

I really like FIFA 18. However there are a few things I would change. It seems almost impossible to get to the top players without spending lots of money. The highest ranked player I’ve been able to buy is 84 overall.

If you want a Ronaldo or Suarez you’ll need millions, after 30+ games I have 10,000 max. I refuse to spend thousands real of dollars or pounds to get better player from EA player packs. Other wise it may take a year of buying and selling to work up through the ranks.

The players images are too small, I can see what’s happening to determine where the ball is or what position the players are in, especially when in a bunch of players. How ever I do like the game overall and will continue to play unless as I move into the higher ranks I won’t be able to compete with the 97 players with my 84 players.
