These are perfect for getting in and out of our above ground pool. Were older and arent as sure footed as we used to be. These steps are wide, slip resistant, and stable enough that we feel completely safe getting in and out of the water.

They also look good and were easy to put together. I love my new steps!.

Love the steps but the dark gray color is a very light whiteish color. I bought them to color match my pool but not the right color. Oh well, they work perfect

It’s funny how you came to this conclusion. I will now purchase all my pool and hot tub needs from another company and start leaving poor reviews where possible. I am not a keyboard warier but feel very disappointed in your new customer service policies.

I purchased the complete step system for my 12 ‘x 12’ x 54″ round above ground pool. I read many of the reviews and picked up some good ideas as to helping the step system stay steady. For the main step I used two 4″ x 26″ long pvc pipe (pre-cut at Home Depot) and capped both using the pvc cement.

I filled both with sand mixed with water. They weighed in at 26 lbs each, then used heavy duty air conditioning zip ties to secure them to the back of the step. Then I filled a 5 gal plastic jug with a well fitted top (it was what held my large chlorine tablets) filled it with sand and water weighing in at 11 lbs and using another heavy duty zip tie hung it to the back of the add on round steps.

We tipped the steps backwards into the pool and tilted it back and forth until it sank then positioned it into place and screwed on the deck mounting brackets to our deck. The steps are Very secure. Real easy install.

Unfortunately the newer step system does not have cutouts on the sides so I read from one reviewer you can order a kit from the company to cut them out (I liked the idea because I want there to be as much water flow as possible) so I spent some time with a drill bit to start the hole for my jig saw blade to fit and carefully cut them All out.

I unplugged the openings of all four ports where they say to put sand into (sides of both steps) to let water fill in there instead. Steps cost me $549, very expensive. But these days they are the only good quality wedding cake style wide step system I could find.

I read the reviews on other sites about this model steps but purchased them anyways. There were many negative comments about how they float and buyers had to use other different things to weigh the steps down.

It is true we followed all of the poorly written directions and It took three adults three hours to assemble the steps. We had to take them apart so many times that we lost count due to vague directions but that is not the worst part.

I am so disappointed because the steps float. We put 70 lbs of sand in the holes as directed and it still floats. If it did not take so much time to assemble it I will disassemble it and send it back.

Now I have to find a way to keep the steps from floating and possibly damaging the lining or wall out the pool. We had to bungee cord it to the railing To keep it from lifting up and tilting at a 30 to 40? angle.

Not what I expected for the amount of money the steps cost. I Purchased both sections of the Confer steps.

The step work well for my mother. She has limited knee bend. I really like them but the ladder ripped my liner that was only 2 years old. I think a ladder with a big base to distribute weight across would be better.

I have some pretty big family members, I am assuming that is why the liner ripped. The weight limit says 400lbs and none of them are even close to that so I feel like it should not have ripped my relatively new liner.

It was not a cheap thin liner I got an expensive one so it would last. This was really disappointing. BTW I did also have ladder liner but it did slip out a lot. We did not find a successful way to keep it weighted down.

These stairs are a good value for the price if under $300. I paid around $290 with tax and the handling charge. Assembly is very easy. I filled mine with 35 pounds of concrete in each side. I first mixed it thin and used a gallon jug with the bottom cut off for a big funnel.

This method worked fairly easily and took about an hour. My total time was under 2 hours for total assembly with adding the concrete. I gave it 48 hours to set before lowering into the pool. Some people complain about the railing but I find it adequate for sensible use.

The mounting brackets that slide over the railing will most likely need some customizing for maximum strength. I used 2 stainless nuts and bolts to fasten through my aluminum coping and 4 screws into a wood deck per side.

I also added 5 screws per side for the bracket into the railing. This was to stabilize the stairs because they tended to “walk” away from the pool wall due to the slight slope of the railing mounting brackets which ramp up over the coping.

They now remain stable. I also drilled 2 holes per side in the hollow area above where the concrete is.

Love these stairs. My husband and I have had our pool for 20 yrs but both of us have acquired arthritic and fibromyalgia problems. We needed an easier way to get into pool. Ladder was too hard. We are so happy with these stairs.

Easy to get in and out of pool. We did slot of looking and research but I am confident we found the best with confer steps. Thank you. And thanks to Wal-Mart for bringing them to our area at an affordable price.

Growing up at a rented house were were told we couldn’t get a pool so my grandma (she raised me and my 2 other siblings) went out and bought us this pool. She thought it would last for the summer and the next year just get a new one.

Well let me tell you that pool lasted 9 years and the only reason it didn’t last longer was we bought a house and it had an in ground pool. So we gave it to our neighbors and it lasted years for them too! And then they moved and took it with them and we lost contact.

But that pool me and my siblings would wake up early swim all day get out and eat and run right back in we loved it so much thank you intex for the amazing memories for thousands of people.

These are easy to set up. Worth the price. The longest wait is for it to fill up. We bought one for our kids and now them and their friends are getting the use out of it, specially on these hot days.

The only down fall is u have to take it down come winter and put back up in spring. Make sure it is dry all the way before putting away or u will get mold. When putting away either save box to put it back in or put somewhere off the floor.

We stored ours out in garage and we’ll come spring a mouse decided to chew holes through it.

I knew when I bought this it was not going to be incredible, but I am pleasantly satisfied. It was way more sturdy than my previous one and I really liked the way we could put the front ladder up out of the way.

having 7 grandkids around all the time under 6, We have always worried about little ones getting into the pool when we were not looking. This really solved the problem. No more catching little climbers almost to the top.

I know it is not rated for it, but we have a couple of folks that or more than 250lbs. The old ladder would wabble like crazy. This one with the wider stand at the base on both sides plus a solid platform at the top makes it quite a bit more sturdy.

Not perfect like a deck built around my pool, but for the price good enough. You don’t feel like you are taking your life into your hands trying to climb up and over into the pool. It also seems to be well made.

The paint seems very sturdy. We have hardly taken it out of the pool all summer and it still looks like it is in great shape. I will store it in my garage over winter just to make sure it doesn’t have to endure the winter elements.

My dream is to build a small deck access to the pool with a locking gate, but that won’t happen for a long while.

Easy to setup, comfortable to walk on it. Im really happy of getting this sets of ladders. The only little problem is to connect them together, it would be nice if it comes with such things as a connector (more sturdy step or something what could be placed under the connection step) or at least if Id be able to buy it separate.

Since I use one pair of stairs outside of the pool and the other inside the pool I needed to use something to connect them together, so I used the step from gate set (I got the set few years ago) however its not really working together with the other ladder set but Im still using it.

And the color of the ladder sides is not white, as the gates set, just light grayish/brownish, so if someone is really picky then make sure you order the white color (on the picture it looks white and in the description it didnt really says what color).

In general, Im happy of the purchase, Id recommend it, and the shipping was really quick.

We have several family members that are heavyweights & a couple with physical limitations. So far so good. This pool ladder/ steps make it so much easier to enter the pool. The steps seem sturdy but the handles feel a little flimsy (flexible?) but as long as no one swings like monkeys on them they work just fine.

The liner fits just right under the steps with out excess hanging out like our old steps had. Assembly is not too difficult with 2 people. Happy with purchase.

We purchased these steps to fit the 16 x 32ft. Intex pool and they worked perfectly even though our pool has that big bend at the bottom of the sidewall. These steps were so easy to put together, everything snaps in place and I think there might be 6 screws to put in.

The sand actually goes inside the hollow framework which means that you don’t have any sand bag issues (I would suggest using a funnel to put the sand in though). The railings really could be more sturdy, but my 85 year old Mother uses them just fine.

Got steps and ladder to go with. Assembly was easy and only took about 30 minutes. Need a drill to make a few screw holes and you’ll need to measure where those holes need to go. A couple holes that were predrilled didn’t line up quite right.

Had to do some adjustment for them to work right. Don’t forget you’ll need blocks or sand of some sort to hold steps steady in the pool as it will float a bit without. You may want to get a mat or cloth for the bottom of the steps to help protect the pool liner.

This one came without. The handles on top don’t seem very sturdy. They are pretty much pvc pipes and held together by a few small screws. I also had a few extra screws because I didn’t hook stairs to a deck but steps came with that option if you wanted to do so.

If you are hooking steps to a deck you won’t need the ladder.

This is my 3rd set of different type / brand of steps. By far the best I have came across yet. Well constructed , does not float up and made of a thicker more durable pvc. The only con I found was the screw holes for the hand rails were not pre-drilled and had to use screw to start hole.

It does not say in directions that a mat is required for liner protection but I would highly recommend it. Fortunately I have one left over from a far less inferior built ladder I had previously purchased and trash with normal teen use.

This ladder is a good buy. I am a working American citizen and enjoy getting good quality for my hard earned money.

Well if you weigh more than 250lbs you might want to find a different setup. Make sure your floor is perfectly level because their is no adjusting the inside steps. Just put in and not sure if it will make it for the rest of the season.

I guess I will have to start shopping for another one next year.

Although I answered “yes” to the three questions above, there were definitely some down sides. It was a little tricky to get it together, inserting the top rails “to the line” into the bottom rails, once the sand was in.

Also the handrails are somewhat flimsy – they kind of wiggle back and forth – they’re not for pushing down on to enter the pool or for pulling up on when you’re exiting the pool. But I will say, they are much nicer than the Confer ladder we had previously.

THIS LADDER IS POORLY MADE. THE HAND RAILS ARE FLIMSY, OUTS BROKE WITHIN A WEEK. HARD TO KEEP IN THE WATER. DIRT AND ALGAE GET UNDER THE LADDER AND THE ONLY WAY TO CLEAN IT IS TO REMOVE THE LADDER. TWO SAND WEIGHTS, WOW THAT’S FUNNY, NOT SURE WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT THEY DON’T KEEP THE LADDER DOWN.

I HAD TO POUR SAND IN MINE TO KEEP IT DOWN IN THE POOL. NOT EVEN A ONE STAR. STAY AWAY. I WOULD NOT PAY 50. 00 FOR THIS LADDER NOW THAT I HAVE ONE AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE LIKE.

The rails are flimsy. The rest is very strong construction, but the rails aren’t. I bought this because I have disabled family members, but they can’t pull on the rails. it requires all leg strength and the rails are for balance only.

I’m considering filling them with spray foam to see if that helps. Also the attachment to the deck doesn’t hold it still. I’ve been constantly resetting it on the mat and levelling it.

We bought this ladder because of the top platform. I have an almost two year old and a 4 year old. The youngest was struggling with the original ladder always falling between the ladder and pool. He now handles the ladder like a champ, and both of them love jumping from the top platform! I also love that I am able to take the outside stairs off, and no longer have to take the ladder in and out of the pool anymore! Highly recommend this ladder for people with young kids who can’t afford the nicer ladders!!.

The ladder is very light in weight. 50 pounds of sand was not enough to keep it from floating away. I added another 25 lbs in weight. Fasten to deck and was good to go. Looks very good overall but priced a bit high.
