20 Best Way To Glue Glass (2023 Updated)

Two failures at first. First effort glued well, but the dishwasher (too soon?) ruined my effort. Second effort failed because I didn’t clean the surface from left over glue from failed first attempt.

Third time worked well. I probably won’t chance dishwasher. Too much effort! It is evidently a sensitive substance. In all three attempts I used the substance generously, ignoring the suggested amount per square inch.

I think this rule of thumb is not helpful. My surface, a broken glass foot was very narrow and not long. But I decided to at least touch the entire surface with the glue.

Loctite has always been my go to for adhesives. so when I had to glue a glass post to brass, I knew it was not going to be easy to find anything that would work. WRONG! After cleaning both pieces (brass with sandpaper, and glass with alcohol) I put one drop of Loctite Glass Glue on the brass, and pressed the glass on it for 60 seconds.

Then I let it cure for 24 hours. Perfect repair, solid as a rock!.

I’ve had mixed results with Loctite products in the past. It seems as though they require an exacting procedure and a certain type of break in order to work correctly. This “glass-repair” variation, though, worked quite well to repair a difficult break — a delicate extrusion on a glass sculpture.

After a week — and another blow to the repaired area that I feared might have caused the repair to fail — it’s held up pretty well. So I was pretty happy with the results.

I have tried different brands of silicone over the years and most are pretty much the same, with the biggest variation being price. Caulking is a good thing given the caulk holds up and works. I find 100% silicone is very effective in sealing and being waterproof.

Lasts. Dries clear like it should. Fills the cracks like caulking is supposed to. A bit goopy, but that’s normal The clean up is a bit more than other acrylic caulking, you need mineral spirits. So wear gloves.

he only things you have to worry about when using it as a project adhesive: 1. If you’re using it to attach things for projects, it can come apart if it takes a sharp blow or falls. I don’t recommend it for areas which will be bearing a lot of weight or tension.

2. If you use it attach natural stones to something, be aware that very porous stones like limestone or sandstone may react adversely and dissolve over a few weeks. Silicone is more than caulk. It’s also a great adhesive.

I used this product to adhere mylar-backed bubble insulation to my garage doors. It sets up quickly and holds most materials. Most importantly, it doesn’t get hard, brittle or shrink, so it will last a very very long time.

I used this to seal up where the backsplash was separating from the wall. I hope to keep out water from dripping behind there and bugs from going behind there. I cut the tip to the smallest size because I didn’t want to create a goopy mess.

Dispensing the product was super easy. It might take a little strength to squeeze it out thought especially if you are using the smallest opening. But once you get it going and get the hang of it, it’s easy to use.

I squeezed out a line and was happy that it’s not super noticeable. The pics are before and after applying, but I went a step further and smoothed out the line (not pictured) to make things look a little neater.

That was easy too as long as you do it immediately before the sealant starts to cure.

I have found so many great uses for this sealant! I love that it’s clear. We have done a door frame repair, a window leak repair, and sealed up some old weather stripping with this stuff. It hasn’t failed us and does a great job even when it gets wet.

The sealant still holds. I will say that you need to be careful with the tube. Instead of squeezing it out, start by rolling the bottom a little at a time to get the sealant out. It will save you some frustration of wasting product.

But honestly, it is such a versatile sealant that you will find so many uses for. You’ll want to always have a tube of this around the house for repairs. I give it 5 stars without hesitation.

I use JB Weld (plus CA glue)on most of my wood working projects and they never fail me. Those reviewers that said it doesn’t work because they didn’t know what these clear epoxy use for and did not know how use them properly.

The clear epoxy could be use on most of the material listed on the package except metal. If you want to use metal on metal or metal on other material then go with the Original JB Weld (the dark grey color one when you mixed them up).

The advantage of the clear JB weld is it looks nicer on the attached surfaces and curing time is much faster than the Original JB weld.

Bought this to fix a small chip on edge of glass/ceramic stovetop. It has covered it and can be wiped over with dishcloth but didn’t harden as I thought it was supposed to do. Maybe I misunderstood the person helping me.

She was very helpful in that I had no idea what to look for.

I was using the Gorilla brand epoxy in the piston dispenser, ran out and tried this instead. It works just the same. This comes in two separate bottles which is much easier to use than the piston pumps.

Much less messy. And you get a lot more. It hardens just the same as the Gorilla, and even smells the same. It is a good epoxy.

Outstanding. Drilled a small hole, and that was perfect. Directions should tell you that. Runs into small cracks. Takes a while to set up, but worth the wait.

While it advertises equivalency, I found the clear glue behaved rather differently than the white version. It does not seem to be quite as “permanent”, and parts of the surfaces let go after a few days with minimal force applied.

However, the fact that it expands less (does not “bubble”) and has no color do make the application a bit easier. This was used gluing plastic to glass.

I used this glue to fix my child plastic toy. It does seem to hold really well but I found it very hard to clamp for two hours unless it was just perfectly shaped fit in a clamp (it does say you can put it between to have a heaven things instead but that did not work for the toy I was fixing).

I was going to fix another toy with it too but it was impossible. There was no way to keep it clamped for two hours even between two heavy objects it was just the nature of the shape of that toy.

I love JB weld for so many things. This is not one of them. I opened the package and followed directions. Don’t know if I messed up or got a faulty package. But the red tip never came off in the process of trying to get it off the whole thing opened up and I got the apoxy everywhere.

Ruined my bar top trying to get it off. On top of that the light part fell off the back. This is a prime example of when a good company tries to expand. You can’t trust the name anymore.

I love this glue. I keep it in my purse! I’ve repaired my Nike tennis shoes, toe and sole. I cannot name the time it’s come in handy over the years. (I discovered it about 3or4 years ago. ) Right now I’m using it to glue a nylon cord to the backs of two small, wooden initials, GP.

Those are the initials of my brother who tragically passed away not long ago. I was at a low how to hang them but created a hanger with cord and your great glue and it’s going to work perfectly. Thanks for a really great product that works well, is sold in a convenient size and is not expensive.

I backed into my granddaughters car and knocked her side mirror off. It cracked the plastic mount and mirror was hanging. We applied the Superweld professional strength and held it for one minute. That was 2 weeks ago and she has been up and down the highway daily and it is still holding.

I really appreciate the engineering that went into the cap. I bought a 4 pack over a year ago and the glue has finally become unusable. Super Glue is such a pain as everyone knows, but Loctite has made it as enjoyable to use as I’ve seen so far.

Glue it is what you want to do. You need to many times. Most brands and types have only enough in the tube to do one job and then you those it in the trash. With Loctite Professional those things are in your past.

I like this superglue because it is thin and easy to apply. I was using it myself for stone inlays – it is thin enough and hard enough to bind stone powder and polish up with compound, but have found it to be a great general purpose glue.

Just a little dab and you are ready to go. A single tube remained unclogged for more than a year of continuous intermittent use – so long as you wipe the tip off when you are done. Only thing I wouldn’t recommend it for would be paper projects where presentation is key, as this kind of glue tends to soak through paper and to the other side.

For that, a thicker superglue would be preferred. I typically keep at least one tube of thin, one tube of thick around the house for this reason. Other than that, I would recommend picking it up. This is the third time I have purchased it and will do so again when I run out.

I was looking for a glue for leather to repair my beloved leather wallet. It tore at the seam where my ID and most used cards reside and I didn’t like the split at all. I went to Walmart and looked in the craft/sewing section and almost missed this gem.

It was with the jewelry making stuff and I read the package and it said it can be used for leather. I was skeptical cause I always need glues for unusual stuff and most of the time they don’t work. I tried Liquid Stitch for this repair before and it failed though it worked for a few months.

But liquid stitch takes 24 hours to cure! This stuff was literally INSTANT! I put some on the seam and pressed it together and BAM! it was stuck together again! In fact it was such a good adhesive it glued the corner of my driver license into the wallet! It took me 10 minutes of struggling to finally get my ID out of the wallet.

I had left the cards in the area so the gap of the seam would be just right and not too hard to pull the stuff out. It definitely works! Even after all that desperate tugging on my ID I thought for sure the bond would break on the seam but it held intact.

I’m glad I found this stuff. I’d definitely wear gloves though when working with this glue, it’s one of those that you can literally glue your fingers together and rip skin off. I didn’t do this but I got a tiny bit on my finger and realized I was lucky I didn’t press two fingers together.

All in all this stuff is AWESOME.

This jewelry glue is very easy to use. Adheres to your jewelry piece you are trying to fix. The amount of glue you use is easily controlled and it dries very quickly. I would purchase it again.

This glue turned my rhinestones foggy and matte. It was like a film gre around each of them ruining my jewelry. I definitely should have tested it and waited before doing several pieces:(

A chemist who makes custom industrial glues recommended this glue as a strong, multi-purpose glue. I used it to glue a clay or concrete (not sure) birdbath bowl that cracked in half when a racoon tried to jump into it.

It held together for 6 years and with water in it. I am about to glue it again for another 6 years. Make sure the item you glue is free of oil, dirt, and other glue and you should lightly sand and clean the debris before you glue it.

Let it cure overnight.

This is an extremely versatile glue. I’ve repaired half a dozen odds and ends that have been broken for years in just a few minutes. Saved a lot of memories and a ton of money on things that no longer need to be replaced.

they’re now repaired. A little goes a long way, and a tube lasts a long time. Plus it stays nice and gooey and won’t dry out super fast like those miniscule bottles of super glue.

I’ve used this brand of glue for over 35 years. I love how good it works. I’ve had trouble finding it in the stores for awhile now. I finally found it on E bay. Very happy I found it, the other glues I had to settle for didn’t work as well as the 527.

Seems folks don’t read instructions – this glue expands into a foam, therefore you MUST clamp the joint and even affix with temporary screws or battens. Roughen surfaces and use a water mist spray and this stuff just about glues anything to anything.

It also leaves a foamy surface you can smooth down or sand and fill, I use it on plastics and woods even limestone. NB – if is horrid on your hands or clothes. Be very careful if using on awkward laminate floor cuts – just a little and clamp like mad – use bricks etc and then you should end up with just a foam bead to snick off and dab a bit of colour match onto.

I normally leave it overnight although two hours on a warm day and the water mist it will normally be cured.

I bought this to bond wood and plastic together where I had managed to snap the plastic screw cap that attached my broom’s wooden handle to the brush. Wasn’t sure it would work as I wasn’t able to apply the pressure that the bottle suggested I should.

That being said, it expands loads and seems to have a really solid hold. I’ve tried the broom out and seems to work fine. Would definitely recommend. People should note however when it dries it looks like a very pale yellow or orange foam.

This wasn’t a problem for me, but if it is for other people, I’d suggest the one that dries clear.

Having brought ‘hard as nails’ glue to fix outside plastic cat strips to a concrete fence I was more than disappointed. I had used gorilla glue previously and wetting one surface makes the glue slightly expand, and I mean slightly.

But it does fill in small gaps which was great for my outside application. With the ‘hard as nails’ glue barely doing the job it was brought for I used clear tape to hold the pieces in place while I wet and applied the glue.

Neither cats, gorillas nor burglars are going to move the strips now and I feel confident they will be here when the fence needs replacing. I also used it on the handle of a ceramic jug that had come adrift, and on an electric fan where the plastic that held the turning mechanism in place had torn the plastic off.

Both successful applications. As Caesar said ‘ I came, I saw I Gorilla glued’.

Save your money and buy Super Glue. I’m taking time out of prepping to paint my bathroom to write how BAD this product is. It does not glue plastic vertical blinds. It does not glue wood. It does not glue metal.

It does not even get tacky after 2 minutes of holding two surfaces together. It is absolutely useless.

This is the best super glue I’ve ever used. I was trying to glue metal to glass and originally had tried one of those epoxies that come in the double tube. It was messy and ultimately didn’t hold. I was able to clean up that mess and then I gave this a try.

The triggers on the side dispense the glue with such control. There was no mess, no glue on my fingers and, most importantly, it held the metal to the glass! Within about 10 seconds and it wouldn’t budge.

Excellent!.

Not good if you’re an amateur. (I am). difficult to use, gummy and gooey, tricky to close (the bottle kind of twists when you close it, especially if you’ve made a mess of the opening and your hands are covered in glue).

It didn’t work great with what I was trying to do – it peeled off of the metal I was using pretty easily. So – if you’re a newbie, try to find something with a built-in brush. Gorilla has something like that I tried and it worked a little better for me.

Great adhesive. Permanent hold!!! Dries clear. Very strong fumes.

Beacon Glue for glass and jewelry works very well and so far even decor that I leave outside stays glued and secure. It does dry clear. I wish there was a fine work attachment for a nozzle.

I was looking for a glue that wouldn’t warp my paper crafts and didn’t leave a dark residue like tombow. I’ve been wanting to try Art Glitter Glue or Bearly Art glue but they are hard to get shipped to you during the colder months.

This glue is amazing. Online it says to order online only but I found it in a local store. This will be my go to glue from now on. The precision tip is excellent as well. The clear applicator let’s you see when it it about to come out so there are no surprises.

This was okay. The bond is incredibly strong, basically impossible to remove once your object is bonded. However, the only downside is the drying time. It takes about 24 hours for it to fully dry, so during your craft be careful with moving anything that’s glued down.

Otherwise, it’s a great bond and is very effective.

This is fantastic Ultra Bond Glue. I glued a cardboard label to a glass jar, used this glue it stuck to the jar very quickly. I also like the clear tip, I can see the glue coming down the tip, also it has a clear snap on cap.

There are also fine tip metal screw on caps available. The price for this product is affordable. I bought the 4oz bottle. I have arthritis in my hands and this bottle is softer than other brands and easier for me to use, I don’t have to squeeze the bottle very hard at all.

I am Very Satisfied with this brand of icraft Ultra Bond Glue, I will be buying this glue again.

I hope this is the world’s worst epoxy, anything else would be unimaginable. I’ve used 2-part 5 minute expoys since about 1974 or 75, starting w/ places that have hot fuel exposure, and engine vibration on things that fly, where the hold is critical.

Never had a problem. I’ve used a couple of different brands, the original Devcon w/b preferred, but the Ace brand is also extremely good, sets as expected, hold is strong on a variety of materials. Some time ago I tried Gorilla glue and had trouble, it didn’t set after hours on a plastic air intake and was almost sucked into the engine.

I called tech support and was told I was using it wrong, and it didn’t work on certain plastics. Since I mix epoxies on a plastic lid and often peel it off afterwords, I sorta know intuitively which plastics and the intake I didn’t think was but I went with their advice: I’d used it wrong.

Then after peeling what was left of the Gorilla stuff off – and it was still soft over 24 hrs later, I mixed up Ace’s 5-minute epoxy and in no time it was hard adhered and I’d sealed the intake, that was a year or so ago, it’s still there; under the hood of a car to be clear.

So maybe I HADN’T USED IT WRONG < oops, inadvertant caps lock, ha! Apropo, I'm leaving it. Not an isolated incident. Everything I used this product on has had problems, first I'm told mine's expired (2014 product code), okay I got a new pack - same problems (the Ace brand I just used today, Copywrite 2005, worked perfectly) I'm told I'm mixing it wrong, good deal, and good thing I didn't mix it wrong 45 years ago on the airplanes! And everything else since; I've been mixing and using all kinds of two part types of glue during those 45 years without a problem, so what's special about this? Apparently you "have to" mix it in the little tray on the package AND you mustn't let it spread out when you mix.

Okay then, I tried those precautions. Except neither of those remedies worked. 3 hrs later, still not set.

just fine, and as expected, once you get a normal mixture down. However, the plunger is much more flexible than other manufacturer’s product, so it is far too easy to end up with a batch that can take overnight to harden.

I’m talking real rubbery and gooey. Moreover, do not store with the plunger side down, unlike other manufacturer’s product the epoxy does leak slowy out of this end. It is for this fact that I rated this product so low.

Also the oneway tab on the cap needs to be more prominent.

I would give this zero stars if I could. This claims to bond a variety of materials, with the fine print being not as effective on some plastics. I bought it to use on a decor craft project, only reading this detail after I finished so when it came apart I chalked it up to that because I followed the directions closely.

Next I used it to bond metal to glass for another decor project and had a similar result. Note, these are not “high traffic” items, mainly just sitting there so I can’t imagine it being useful for any type of repair on an item that gets regular use.

Simply worthless, actually worse than that because I have wasted my time. To top it all off, it was messy and a hassle to apply alongside having terrible fumes. For nothing!.

Im so sad because I broke a huge glass Christmas cross that we hang up every year. It only broke into four pieces. When I glued it together I thought it would stay. The next day when I picked it up, the entire thing fell apart.

Im so sad because I thought this stuff would work. Unfortunately, I have to throw it away. Super disappointed.

Purchased this to repair a broken “antique glass” quart milk bottle. I found that it, if it is applied heavier, has good weeping qualities, dries totally clear, and holds quite well. And after letting it set for a very few minutes, and wiping (smearing) off the excess glue, I found that lacquer thinner (on a cloth) would wipe the smeared material off very nicely, especially after a second wipe with a clean cloth.

Also used the same procedure to repair a very dainty glass candy dish, also with excellent results.

It does not stick/ glue right away or at all. The frst time I used it on shoes. It did not work I thought maybe because I did Not clamp (I did hole it for a long time maybe 30 mins) or wait at least two hours to “dry”.

It didnt work my shoes opened right away and kept doing so through out the days. But then i used it on a sticker, it did not glue it, hold it or anything to it. A flat surface with a sticker, a simple sticker alright.

I thought maybe it needs pressure so I held the sticker for about 10-15 before I got tired I removed my hands and guess what sticker still not stuck, not glued to the surface. Instead the sticker kept curling up when it wasn’t curled up to begin with.

Such a waste of my money really! A $1 glue would glue faster and stronger than this. More like $1 crazy glue would actually do the job.

I have used this on a lot of stuff both indoor and outdoor. I have used it to repair 2 Funko Pops that I accidentally broke, a bear statute that my mom broke, a wooden picture frame, etc. That’s all indoor and the glue has held it perfect.

Outdoor, I’ve used this glue to repair a frog and Yoda statue that my dad broke. I also used it to repair a small sign hanging on my house. Again, this glue held up perfect. It doesn’t dry super quick but that doesn’t bother me as long as it works to bond good.

I used to use Loctite superglue but that does not hold up at all on outdoor stuff and barely does a good job on indoor items.

Product is good for one use only. The twist up nozzle cap did not have a hole in the spout. I had to remove it completely and punch a hole in it, but before I could dispense the glue, I I had to also remove a solid metal pin with a head on it between the hole in the cap and the nozzle.

Once I twisted the nozzle to close it, it still dispensed glue, so there is no way to keep the glue from setting up in the bottle. I am just not sure how one is supposed to use a bottle of glue with a solid metal pin sealing the cap hole and a dispensing nozzle with no hole in it!.

This glue is supposed to work well with many materials and that’s why I thought I’d try it. But for my type of mosaic art, not so great. I make mosaics with mostly plastic/glass beads glued on gesso board or masonite, using Mod Podge and a paint brush to apply.

Looked for reviews on M. Podge to see how it holds up over time when used with beads but I only found reviews for M. Podge & PAPER art. Looking for a glue with good reviews & mosaic-type use, I tried Weldbond.

It doesn’t list plastic as a material it works on/ with, but it was supposed to glue so many other things. I thought I’d try it since I also like to use metals, rocks, etc in mosaics. I thought maybe lil’ plastic beads would stick, too.

So I tried painting it on a wooden surface (painted 1st w/ an acrylic paint) and pushing a few plastic beads down. It was thicker than M. Podge when wet, and was harder to make an even, smooth coat w/ paint brush.

No sticking power for plastic pony beads even after 24 hours of drying; they came right off when I applied pressure the next day. Just what the bottle said. not for plastic. Oh well, I just thought I’d try it.

For the glass seed beads/ other glass beads it was also not my favorite cause it seemed a bit too thick and messy for my smaller stuff. The long drying time made me decide to keep using M. Podge. However, It did work fine as a clear sealant when I painted it over the edges of an acrylic-painted wooden plaque w/ mosaic on it.

I can use it for something, at least.

I use Weldbond mostly for mosaics. It is odorless, which is important since I am scent-sensitive. It is non-toxic. It dries clear. It is expensive for glue, but Blick’s price is the best around, and they offer it in jugs, which enables me to dispense into smaller containers when I teach workshops.

Weldbond is really strong and dries very quickly, unless you put it behind a big piece of glass. I have found that putting heat under it makes it dry much more quickly. I use warming trays for this.

Excellent glue! Very strong and very easy to work with. Dries clear – no mess/stain. I even use it to prime mdf edges and to fill small chips in the wood – looks like magic since you see the chip but it’s flat to touch (be sure to pour WELL ABOVE the chip when filling since it shrinks greatly in volume when drying and allow several days to fully cure).

Never been a fan of Superglue as it rarely lives up to the expectation. Needed this to repair a beloved pair of trainers i was not ready to part with. Whole trainer was in perfect condition but the sole had split around the sealing edge resulting in the front of the sole flapping under my foot whenever i lifted it and letting water in.

Seeing as the sole itself was still fully intact, it had just come unstuck along the original join, i gathered it should be repairable if i could purchase the right adhesive. Saw this, was impressed by the reviews and thought id try it.

The bottle is easy to use, nice simple lid that seals appropriately to stop the glue drying out and allows a nice fine application with the thin nozzle. I was generous with my application as i did not want to have to repeat, a nice layer of glue applied along the edge i needed sealing before setting into a vice to hold the seal in place while it dried.

Left it over night and the following day checked it out. Perfect seal all the way round and now firmly held in place. There was a little residue after drying, it is a clear gel to start and dries a frostycloudy white colour.

Being on the sole of the trainer i was not bothered by this but you may need to be more careful if wanting a perfect finish for your task. Several months on, i have worn the trainers quite a few times since and still holding strong.

Very impressed by this as i did not expect the hold to last if im honest. My only criticism is that the bottle does not come full, I had enough glue to do what i needed, but why waste the plastic manufacturing a bottle larger than is required Lots of companies need to consider this at present.

Nonetheless, good product, would recommend.

I have fairy figurines from my childhood, and unfortunately some of their wings were broken during a move. I wasn’t sure if there would be a glue that would work for the material they’re made of (since I’m not quire sure but think it may be some type of resin), and if it did I was worried about the glue expanding and it being very obvious that they’ve been repaired.

This glue was perfect for the job at hand, it doesn’t expand while drying and doesn’t dry to a hazy color so it’s obvious if you get a little dollop somewhere else, plus a very little goes a long way! Overall, I’m very happy with the quality of the glue and how easy it is to use.

First, some reviewers have pointed out that the bottle is larger than is actually needed to hold the volume of glue supplied. Rather than being an attempt to mislead, the reason for the large bottle seems to be to allow easy shaking of the contents and thus avoid the experience of a small bottles contents going solid.

As for the glue itself, it seems fine. More of a liquid than I was expecting, it nevertheless stuck part of a broken frying pan handle back in place quickly and effectively. And you dont need much the instructions advise against more than a drop per square inch.

So, a decent superglue that can definitely be recommended.

I use this and the Ultra Control Gel both to help extend the life of my expensive Brooks Beast sneakers needed to protect my feet on a concrete surface at work. The gel I use where more flexibility of the repair and control of application is needed, and the liquid to get into cracks.

They have been outstanding in performance, very easy to apply, and the tubes haven’t dried out. I’ve used the gel to fix two of my fellow workers’ eyeglass frames, and to fix a cracked gas plastic lawnmower cover to excellent effect.

The lawnmower went through the entire last year mowing season and held, even though there was very little surface area to stick the two sides back together, and that under significant strain. The working time was ideal to get everything applied, and the set time ideal so I could let go holding of the two plastic sides together after a few minutes when my hands started to severely cramp.

Amazingly it held. So I’ve been a big fan of Loctite Ultra Control Super Glues since. The liquid I’ve started using recently where a liguid vs a gel gets into more inaccessible areas.

Ugh. I ordered “gel ” Super Glue so that it didn’t run madly out of the tube. Why oh why, oh why did you substitute liquid which immediately runs all over creation the minute you open the tube. You could have ordered gel in a different size or different brand.

At least then I wouldn’t have to deal with the impossible flood of super glue. ou how dumb.

I can no longer think of glue without thinking of Elwood Blues. But seriously, this glue is the best on the market. There never seems to be enough of it in a bottle but if there were more it would solidify before you could use it.

Pro Tips: (1) Don’t stock too much of it because it might solidify before you can use it. (2) Leave it in the packaging until your other bottles have run out. (3) Don’t twist the top until you’re ready to start using it.

Purchased this a few months back to repair the plastic working bowl for our food processor. Had some success as the repair held for about 10 uses until bowl broke again. Went to use the glue again but found that product had dried up – as other reviewers have mentioned, this is a 1-time use product.

So purchased a second glue kit but this time repaired 2 plastic items. Both items failed right away. So i tested the glue on a few other plastic items to see if perhaps it was the type of plastic that I was having the issue with.

Conclusion – this glue is no better than cheap super glue you can get at the dollar store. All marketing / no delivery. Lesson learned -I should have put the $20 I spent on this towards a new bowl instead of wasting on this product.

received product in good time. Product was still sealed in Loctite container. Very poor instructions on using activator (appeared to be nothing in it) If you inverted the activator container for 5 minutes, and then applied it, you could see a trace of something being applied.

I am not sure it was an adequate amount. I completed the repair, but I have very little confidence in the integrity of the bond.

The tube of “glue” was almost empty from the start. Over half the tube was compressed before any glue appeared. They claim this will work with poly foam but Elmer’s would have at least done something.

Complex to use and absolute failure. Total waste of money and time.

In my many years as a classroom art teacher, I have learned to add Gorilla glue to my supply list. I teach pre-k to 8th grade, typically; with variations on grade level ranges. Why would an elementary art teacher need such a strong adhesive? I needed this because I teach children, and children drop, break, and simply play with things until they fall to pieces.

Despite my best efforts to teach children about the function and purpose of decorative arts, I have had a line up of 5 to 12-year-olds year round with art pieces that left my classroom carefully packaged in 1 piece; and returned sometime later in several pieces.

This glue has never been given to children, and I have made sure that all “doctoring” of art pieces happens after class. Gorilla glue bonds basically any surface to any surface, and this stuff was even more effective than the foamy yellow nonsense I used to use.

Clear grip will take the ceramic ear of your Second Grade child’s bunny mug and reattach to look like new. I have repaired clay pottery like a pro, with absolutely no training in this type of skill. The trick I made up is to add dabs of glue with a Q-tip to each side of the break, and then gently put the pieces together.

Next I use masking tape or painter’s tape to make sure the cracked area is firmly “clamped” in place. I hold the pieces sometimes for delicate breaks, and this glue sets quite quickly and almost effortlessly.

Parents and kids have been so happy with the repairs, they have often returned with broken toys, trophies from random sports tournaments, soccer cleats and more. At one point, I had a “broken stuff” section of my art room where anyone could deposit a “too loved” item for my fixing.

Beyond this, Gorilla glue has helped me in developing several tools for art teaching, or objects needed to make the job possible. My artist assistant and I created custom frames for a 4th grade mini mosaic project, using gorilla glue to adhere the finished tile pieces to solid wood.

( The kids only used kid-safe mosaic glue for the actual art). We also used Gorilla glue to attach PVC pipe plastic tubes together to create some mighty fine and super lightweight flexible weaving looms.

Whether I drop someone’s coffee mug, or someone comes to me with a headless sculpture in need of “immediate surgery”, this glue is always in my “teacher only cabinet” for instant fixing.

Quite similar to an old favorite called “The Welder. ” It differs from “Goop” or “E6000” in that it flows much nicer than those and doesn’t “ball” up as much when spread out. This adhesive is perhaps best suited for patching rubber-type products (such as floor mats), especially when used with fiberglass backing cloth.

Just be sure to thoroughly scuff the surface you’re gluing beforehand. Gorilla claims this adhesive is UV resistant, but I highly doubt that and would coat any exposed areas. Gorila says the adhesive is waterproof, but it shouldn’t be used where there is constant immersion or in below the water line applications.

This product can be used to fill in smaller-sized gaps- which can especially helpful in areas where flexibily is important- but the product’s thinness means runs can be a problem when applying on vertical surfaces.

Larger gap filling should be done incrementally (as in, apply product, allow it to dry for a day or 2, then re-apply) rather than doing it in one big glob, as the product may never cure properly. This glue has a very long shelf life as long as you keep the cap on tight.

The tube I’m using is several years old now, yet but it still works fine.

So I bought this glue for a craft project because the E5000 smells so bad/strong and it really gets to you after awhile. However the gorilla glue is basically the exact same glue and it also smells. I would buy which ever one has the best price.

It worked well for my projects. It’s messy as it’s in a tube and continues to ooze out. Also the metal tubes get holes in them as you roll them up. If you’ve never used it before it is essentially a strong rubber glue.

I was gluing glass with it and it holds strong, but even after it dried for a few days I could pull it apart if I didn’t like what I did and rub the glue off to start over. Thats a plus for me because I change my mind a lot.
