20 Best Wax For Diamond Painting (2023 Updated)

I was a little nervous about using this to restore a pair antique chairs which had very little of their original gilding left. I was also sceptical about the finish but I need not have been. This is an excellent product.

It is easy to use, but practise first as a light touch looks more authentic. The colour King Gold is a lovely mellow gold which enhanced the colour of my chairs’ old gilding. Very easy to use, and a beautiful finish.

This product is perfect for refreshing and/or highlighting.

This product by Pebeo is the best out there. I have used it for so long and for many projects, it lasts years and even if it dries, just use baby oil to moist it. Amazing metallic shades, awesome surface coverage and lasts for so long, all of that within a small devilish jar.

I love this product. I recommend it to all my crafty friends. As I do with Crafter’s Companion too. They have great products which are easy to use. Crafters companion is the only company any crafter should use.

I applied this to the sun pad on my boat and i’m truly impressed with the results. It doesn’t have much cleaning action buy i always clean my seats with extremely diluted meguiars super degreaser first.

The directions in a way essentially state that it should be applied to a clean surface. After applying and letting set for a minute, the results after hitting it with a microfiber were stunning. It leaves it ever so slightly glossier than your typical silicone spray protectant but its a look thats even across the entire piece even when done in sections.

I find the 303 products to leave an uneven shine across the surface. The true test will be how long it lasts between applications and its ability to keep black flip flop grime off or atleast make it easier to remove.

I purchased my first car with leather interior and wanted to start with a good product for cleaning and maintaining the interior. I’ve used this product for two years now and my seats still look brand new.

Application is straight forward with a clean cloth – wipes on and off and works into the leather nicely leaving a nice conditioned feel to the surface. I’ve noticed no dirt build up or residue and the dash seems to attract less dust when compared to my civic and armor all.

I will continue to use this product and expect a very long life interior finish.

The greatest car wax always. I have been using this product for many years and it certainly does the best job ever. Would never think of using anything else.

This I use for oil and cold wax paintings and although I can make my own medium I have to admit, especially on sale it’s a great buy. The Gamblin cold wax is the right consistency and keeps for ever! As long as the lid is closed, the shelf life seems to be endless, that’s a big plus.

Other cold wax mediums I have tried are more liquid and runny and not as good to mix or dry.

This product was ordered for a demonstration program on oil and cold wax which about 20 people participated in from our local arts association. Having never used cold wax before, I really can’t compare it to other brands, but found it a nice workable medium to use, and I plan on trying more paintings with it! Blick delivered it very quickly, which was important as I ordered only a week before the program!.

I used the cold wax on a stretched canvas with an acrylic primer. I applied paper clippings and cotton cloth and over-painted with oil colors mixed with the cold wax. The creative possibilities are limitless.

Note that the wax is opaque, like a white paste, but it dries clear so that newsprint and glossy paper clippings show through when dry. The wax speeds up drying time when mixed with oils. Give it a try, go to it, and have fun in the creative process!.

Dorlands was recommended to me by someone in a Blicks Facebook group when I asked about sealing a watercolor picture that I didn’t want to frame. I watched a couple of You-Tube videos and was sure this would work.

It’s great that it doesn’t have an odor! It sealed my picture without blurring or changing the watercolors. Now I’ve been demonstrating and introducing it to other painting friends. I’ve also sealed some watercolor greeting cards.

Just one thing I wouldn’t do again is waxing a watercolor bookmark. For me, I didn’t think I like the feel of it.

I use this wax medium to seal in my acrylic paintings (which tend to be done on paper, and therefore requires a softer finishing method) and i have had wonderful results so far. The medium is a bit sticky when you first put it down, so giving it some time to dry is a must, and I would recommend buffing over it with a soft cloth (a blue shop towel works well) to remove any left over swirls from the application.

My delivery arrived quickly and in modest packaging, and will last a while for the small quantity I purchased (4oz). If working with watercolor, you MUST use a workable fixative or some other smooth, clear sealant, or the wax will rub the pigment and skew it a bit (understandable – wax is a moist material).

Overall, I am very pleased and will be purchasing again in the future!.

I love finishing my acrylic paintings with Dorlands Wax. My favorite is Liquitex matte, then few days later apply this wax and let dry overnight and then buff with soft cloth! Makes such a gorgeous finish with only slight shine but gorgeous finish!!!.

Awesome wax! I layed down 2 coats of a ceramic “recharge” product and then put the Krystal Diamond down over it. OH MY! So buttery smooth to the touch and a deep shine! In the sun you can see a krystal-like reflection! Must be the SIO2 in it? I don’t want a fussy permanent or long term ceramic coating, I’d rather have something that wears off in 3 months and then I’ll re-apply.

This wax ROCKS! And so far seems to last about 3 months.

I have used a lot of different waxes and polishes. NOTHING is anywhere near as good as McKee’s 37 Carnauba Wax. It goes on so easy and comes off just as easy. Shade or sun, it doesn’t matter. it is unbelievable how the water just rolls off.

I had a bird do it’s thing on my hood and it sat in the sun for several hours baking. I took a microfiber towel with just a mist of McKee’s Fast Wax and it actually came right off leaving no spot or stain.

it literally slid off. I am so impressed with this and the whole line of McKee’s products. I wish they would have been around in 1966 when I had my GTO convertible. I use all their products on my 2016 Ford F150 Super Crew with Pearl White Metallic paint and it is beautiful.

Far and away the most expensive tin of wax I’ve ever bought. Cheap, this stuff is not! Only the strength of the recommendations I’d received convinced me to give it a go. I have not been disappointed.

It appears fairly solid in the tin but applying a rag or a finger turns it into something way more soft and mushy, making application very easy and quick. Only a tiny amount is needed on non-porous surfaces.

It dries very quickly and buffs to a nice shine. Durability also seems pretty good. Price though it is, I can’t help but recommend it.

I bought this stuff on the recommendation of a bookbinder and use it for maintaining leather-bound books. Unlike the other preparations I’ve used it is wholly synthetic and does not contain substances like (beeswax) that over time become acidic and end up damaging the leather they were intended to sustain.

Not only does ‘Renaissance’ offer a deep lustre and outstanding protection for leather books, it does a brilliant job with so many other items. I-Pods, computers (bodies and screens), wooden frames, penknives, hi-fi equipment, &c, &c.

Its application seem almost limitless. It is easy to use and may be used in the most sparing manner without compronmising the result. I bought a 200ml tin, and given how little is needed for each item it works out a very economical.

Great logo too.

Definitely leaves a protective, non-reactive, neutral, non-residual ,basically odourless layer on my leather watch straps (obviously non suede leather). I left my watch in sunshine for about 15min and then applied 2 x wax layers to straps, lightly buffing with cotton rag.

It gets better after a couple of days as it dries! leaves a beautiful low sheen. I was working in yard in rain for 10min with this watch & no issues with leather strap.

This is so beautiful!! The colors are vibrant and dazzleing. It’s huge ! I’M making it for my granddaughter. if Ihave could make all her wishes come true I would! This painting “spoke” to me. This is my first from DAC and my first sqaures, love,love, it! So much prettier in person.

The canvas fabric is wonderful and the colors are so amazing. I can’t rate it high enough!! I would love to see some “zodiac signs art” from this artist.

This is a very pretty antique wax. The only suggestion I would make is to make sure that you wipe it off before it completely dries. Because once it completely dries it is there. I find that this particular color of deep Brown goes very nicely over antique white paint.

I used an antique white satin paint & primer and then I used this wax over it. The more you rub the wax the shinier it gets. If you do not rub it as much, it gives more of a matte look.

I bought this for a dresser for a diy project. I painted the dresser brown, put a crackle coat on top, and covered it all with a light turquoise. I used this brown wax coat on all of the outer edges and inner edges of the dresser drawers, and I actually used a little makeup brush for the application.

If you are used to the harder wax, this will be totally different, it’s a liquids consistency. but, it’s sheer and easily blendable and buildable.

Perfect purchase. The manicure set is high quality, to be expected being made in Germany.

This is my first time using the Clear Carnauba Wax from Milk Paint. Upon opening the can I was a little concerned. The wax had separated in the can into a solid wax and a liquid syrup. The wax was not uniform like the picture shows on the web site.

In retrospect, I should have tried to mix the separated wax, but I was pressed for time. My project was an old dresser that was painted with White Milk Paint and now it was time to wax. I started with a small piece of cloth and as the directions indicate; cover with a thin coat of wax.

I was able to get enough wax in every dip. I used over half the can of Carnauba wax for the project. The wax seemed to cover easier and go further than other brands. Waxing usually is very time consuming because you don’t want to put it on too thick, but you want to cover.

Sometimes it is difficult to achieve. This wax went on very smooth, with a thin coat, and dried quickly. I like the final look of the project and the easy online purchasing.

We used RMP Clear Carnuaba Wax to finish a hand rubbed Oregon black walnut industrial table. Was informed by many professionals we could not get a mirror finish using tung oil & Wax finish. Boy were they wrong.

It dried hard and with a hard buffing, added a depth to the wood I though was only possible on a fine auto finish. Thank you RMP for the great product and your support with the issues we struggled through to finish our table!.

Used to protect newly refinished painted table & chairs. It’s also great to use prior to a color wax. If you don’t like the color selected, clear wax makes it easier to wipe it off. Also can be used to freshen up old furniture.

Just wipe off the old dirt and grease then apply a coat of clear wax. Better than weekly furniture shining/polishing.

What an absolutely fantastic product! I recently began making small wooden boxes, and I wanted them to have a worn and distressed look. I have been refinishing a desk like I have with with many other pieces of furniture in the past using chalk paint and wax. I have never had a problem before, but in my new city Michaels is the only place to really find product on demand so I bought their versions of chalk paint and clear wax.

BIG NO. The chalk paint took multiple layers to achieve the right look. When I finally got it where I wanted it, I very lightly coated it with the clear wax, as the directions said, and as I have done in the past.

The desk I was painting was the light seaglass teal color. Well I came back a few hours later to find my entire project ruined. The “CLEAR” wax dried a nasty yellow brown color equivalent to snot. splotchy all over.

If I could post pictures I would. This is not the look I was going for. and as we all know. it is near impossible to start over and get wax off. My what was almost complete project is now a disaster sitting in my kitchen, and I am out $$ on paint and wax supplies (took 3 containers of chalk paint for one small desk).

Not to mention I had to pay shipping because my michaels was out of the color when I ran out and had to order an extra. I will NEVER use this brand again. It’s not like they will refund you empty paint containers or an antique desk.

Have used Ren wax for many years. It is a great protective on metal, plastic and rubber. Especially on leather and wood. Keeps leather lasting well past untreated leather items and without mildew! Highly recommend it and a little goes a long way!!!!!!!!.

I purchased the 200 ml size, and I’ve used it on a number of swords and daggers. It has hardly made a dent in the amount of product remaining. It is so viscous, and you need so little, that I can often apply it with my fingers.

I like that it leaves virtually no white, powdery, residue like other waxes do. I also like that it can be used on most anything, (photographs – really?!). It will give dull surfaces a bit of luster, and shiny surfaces will be gleaming.

On the surface it may seem a bit pricey, but when you consider that a single can could provide countless applications over a number of years, it is actually a great value.

If applied sparingly this is an undeniable great product. It can and will perform! It would be difficult to perform on perfection. I if you are in. gether done mental state, perhaps this product is not suitable for your use.

One additional thought. , if you do not have the time to correctly apply this wax. When will you have time to correct a rushed up job? The simplistic truth,apply it correctly the first time. Think about it.

I am 70 years old and have always wanted my vehicles to look nice. Just last week a lady asked “How do you like your new truck?” I told her that it was a 2010 and she couldn’t believe it! I use Mystic Spray Wax on the whole truck from bumper to bumper.

molding, windows, chrome, everything! It is much easier than paste wax, it does a terrific job, and it smells good too.

I’ve used this product for about 10 years it’s the best for my classic car. I tried most of the products that are out there none that work like wizard products no completion!!!

This one I love love love . A bit of a challenge due to size . Love love love . Best ever, had so much fun . Hard to stop working on before long hours have passed if not careful .

Really like the product, very effective. The 128 oz. bottle and free spray bottle is the best way to go if you have multiple cars and take care of them. The 32 oz. bottles don’t last very long so you might as well get the 128 oz.

You will like the product and want to use it again and again.

I love Hydro Blue. You wash your car, rinse, then spray one panel at a time and rinse it off quickly. Viola! A smooth and protected surface. If you like to keep your car clean and looking good this is for you.

One note: Make sure you rinse each panel immediately after spraying or you may experience some streaking.

I was after a wax to go over a van I’ve just bought. Being 12months old the paintwork it’s already in good condition so this wax went on well and also came off with ease revealing a sparkling finish – very impressed.

Water beads off nicely. I’m hopeful it will last for a while but unable to tell as I’ve literally only just applied it (hence 4/5). I also tried it on a car with 7 year old paintwork (and without any prep/polishing) and it came up good but was more of a challenge to buff off; looks OK but not as good as the van but to be fair I should have prepared it first with a good polish.

The tub of wax will no doubt last a long time as after doing two vehicles there is tonnes of this left. Good value for money.

I have used Turtle Wax paste for over 50 years. It is the best product out there! It works best when teamed with Turtle Was Zip Wash. Only apply a thin coat and wipe it off as soon as it is dry. Always use clean towels for removal of wax.

Buff to get the best shine. Don’t let the price fool you. This wax is better than waxes costing many times the price. That’s why it has been the world’s largest selling wax for many, many years. Try it, follow the directions, and you will not be disappointed.

This is the only wax product I recommend for firearms. It works great on the wood and the metal parts. Leaves a nice luster, that resists fingerprints. It is not prone to smudges like oil is. It will not darken a wood stock, and it won’t turn a satin finish in to a high gloss finish.

It will restore the finish’s luster, and it will enhance the look of the wood grain.

This will protect any metal that you don’t want to corrode or rust. Whether it be a family heirloom, firearms, swords or any metal collectible. Keeps your wood preserved also. Has a cleaning effect too! Saw the use of this on a Midway YouTube video on how to protect firearms for long term storage.

I bought it for that reason. I tried it and fell in love. Works great! The guns that won’t fit into my safe, these are safe black powder replicas, is the greatest. Now I don’t have to worry about finding corrosion or rust as a nasty surprise.

I highly recommend this product. It’s a little pricy but a little goes a long way.

This product seems great–applies easily, beautiful finish. I am depending on the British Museum pedigree regarding effectiveness and longevity. A little goes a very long way, so this relatively small can will be sufficient for protecting my jewelry for weeks, maybe years, to come.

My only complaint: It has high solvent content, so I store it inside a glass jar and apply it outdoors. Manufacturer says storing outdoors in freezing temps is OK. I would not store this indoors or inside my studio without plenty of ventilation.

It drys and cures very fast, so the VOC problem is short lived.

Wax needs to be applied with a wax brush. A cloth does not give a satisfactory even coverage. Having used the chalk paint and followed the instructions carefully I found it a long drawn out process. In retrospect I would have used traditional paint for my project.

Chalk paint and wax I feel is more suitable for a distressed look which was not what I was after in this case.

Have only used it on a small area for now but it seems to do the job. I will probably use some gloves next time to move the item after waxing as it is very greasy of course. It probably needs a little bit of time to settle so best not to touch it after wiping it with the cloth.

Best company for doing up furniture supplies. Had an old faux leather foot stool and decided to give it some life. I bought both chalk paint and chalk paint wax from this amazing small business and it came out beautifully! I would recommend buying the wax brushes from here too, I made the silly mistake of not doing it and it took a lot longer!.
