20 Best Waterproof Watches For Swimming (2023 Updated)

I previously had the Original Galaxy Watch which was nothing but a glorified notification device and very slow, buggy, and cumbersome to use. I waited to upgrade for 3 more iterations (2, 3, 4) hoping a lot of the bugs would be worked it.

And honestly this watch is still more or less a glorified notification device and is basically worthless if you’re a Verizon customer and use Verizon proprietary apps because you cannot download them on your watch.

For example, if you use the Verizon Messages App and go to start a new message from your watch it requires you to set a different message app as default in order to start a message. What’s the point? Why would Verizon sell something that is incompatible with it’s native proprietary apps? For some reason if you receive a message on your watch, it shows up as being from the Verizon Messages app and you can respond to it, however if you swipe it away there’s no way to get back to it and again no way to start a new one.

So it’s only 1 way compatible or what does this mean??? What’s even worse, I initiated a chat with Tech support who had absolutely no idea whether the Verizon Messages app was compatible with the Galaxy Watch.

The person on the chat promised me a resolution in the beginning and then could not deliver and kept wasting my time asking me to check the app store which I already informed them I had done and was the reason I initiated the chat (i.

e to see if the app was compatible or not). Also, the standalone feature is garbage, if you do try to respond to a message and you aren’t near your watch, it either will not be able to send the message or it will say, cannot send from phone, use watch number instead? What’s the point??? Additionally, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve answered a call on my watch as I’m headed back to my phone only to get back to my phone and find out I can’t transfer the call to my phone (S22 Ultra).

The workout/fitness stuff seems ok I guess but if you want to separately measure your heartbeat you better not move a muscle or it will give you a sensor error, however if you have activated a workout on the watch, somehow it shows as being able to read your heartbeat the whole time no matter how much you are moving, how does this make any sense at all? The individual heartbeat app makes you hold still but the heartbeat monitor built into the workout isn’t the same? So if you haven’t activated a workout and you are doing cardio for example, how the heck can you get a reading without stopping and holding absolutely still? I absolutely love my Galaxy S22 Ultra, I’ve been a Samsung Galaxy Phone user since the Note 3 but Samsung’s Watches seem to be Garbage, and moreso on on Verizon.

My wife has an Apple watch and iPhone 13 (both on Verizon as well) and I am SUPER impressed at how well the Apple Watch works and what it can do (I would get one if it were possible to use it with my phone).

She never has problems and can literally leave her phone at home and have basically the same functionality on her watch from miles away and it uses her phone number (not a watch number). Samsung is INFINITELY far behind on the watch side and needs to step it up BIG TIME and so is Verizon on their Proprietary apps.

After owning this watch for 3 months, this watch has been able to supplement my life’s activities in some way. The main reason I bought it for the purpose of being able to track my exercise and to be used as a golf watch for pin distance.

Upon pairing with my Samsung S9+, all notifications such as text and WhatApp messages, calendar events and call were all actionable from the watch, and mitigated me having to pull out my phone to check these notification.

Things such as email to my gmail account and other application notifications were not available, however as these aren’t really urgent it didn’t really impact me. It has support for many third party applications and native Samsung applications; my Golfshot application allowed for me to check the pin distance from my phone, my F45 workouts were tracked in the Samsung Health with my heart rate and calorie counts for the session available to be viewed on both my watch and my phone, plus the ability (after a bit of fiddling) being able to control my phone’s Spotify whilst connected to my bluetooth headphones (the watch also uses bluetooth).

There’s so many apps you can use such as a compass, stopwatch, Google maps and Samsung Pay, The Samsung Health integration has a wealth of functions, even being able to measure body composition by sending electrodes around your body, providing data on BMI, water mass, bone density.

It also has a sleep monitor which will track your sleeping patterns if you wear the watch while you sleep, I haven’t tried it for the reason below. My only complaint is the battery life. Depending on usage, you’ll find yourself having to charge your watch at weird intervals if you choose to wear it to bed every night.

Given the functions of the watch somewhat demand it to be worn for 24 hours, you’ll just have to pick and choose when you want to go without, which means placing it on a USB charger the size of a 20 cent piece.

Overall it’s a great life assistant. It looks smart, you can choose for virtually an unlimited number of watch faces, there’s an app for everything you want and you can set it up to help you with anything you wish.

I received the Bluetooth version of this watch, and have been using it for a few weeks. There is also a 4G version of it. The watch comes nicely presented in a white box, and includes a proprietary magnetic USB charging pad, so you’ll need a charging block to plug this into in order to charge the watch.

Charging takes 90 minutes with my charger, and a full charge lasts ~2 days (though I’ve not used it for intensive fitness tracking). Battery life is the only downside of this watch for me, though this may be normal for smart watches.

I’ve been using this watch with a Samsung Galaxy S10 – It is not compatible with iPhone. There are certain features that only work with Samsung phones – such as full health tracking (heart rate monitor, blood oxygen level, sleep quality, stress, and body composition).

Unless you’re really into monitoring your fitness, this is unlikely to be an issue – I find basic fitness tracking (steps etc) is perfect for my needs. The watch is comfortable to wear, though I find the rubber strap can get a little bit sweaty (which may be partly due to the UK 2022 Jul/Aug heatwave).

This may not be an issue if you are a regular smart watch wearer already. Before starting the watch for the first time, I’d recommend installing Samsung’s ‘Galaxy Wearable’ app and ensuring that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.

On starting the watch, it walks you though the Bluetooth pairing process, and then gives a brief interactive demo of how to use the watch (Mostly swiping left/right/up/down to access different feature areas, and is definitely worth paying attention to).

The app allows you to configure your watch – lots of different faces etc. , as well as specifying the apps you wish to use. Other than phone and Messages, I regularly use Spotify and Samsung Pay (as it’s more convenient than using the phone).

I find this watch a very user-friendly piece of tech. If you’re happy to charge it every day or two, I’d definitely recommend it.

I gave this watch 4 stars but I wanted to give it 4. 5 and that’s sadly not an option. My only real criticisms are in the review below. The Regulus is a very intriguing (and somewhat flawed) watch. It is indeed a big, tough, beefy, masculine watch, although it is surprisingly light on the wrist.

It doesn’t really look like anything else out there and it’s impressive but not over-the-top huge. My wrist is 8. 25 inches and it makes a pretty good footprint on my carbon, as it were, but the band has enough room to accomodate what looks like a full 9″ wrist.

It’s comfortable – I’ve been wearing it all day today without discomfort – and has longitudinal ridges on the back side – I guess to help drain away the sweat and/or blood lol. It is also thick and somewhat stiff! Which means that if you make it too tight, you might need someone to help you push the tang back with a pen to get it off! Don’t ask me how I know and don’t go “gorilla” tight on the strap, which also features Nixon’s little “capture” (not the right name) feature on the end of it, to keep the end of the strap from flopping around.

I ordered the black-case, black-band variant with the POSITIVE LCD screen. Out of all their variants, they only make two with positive LCDs, and one of them is on an OD green background. I wish they made more color combos with the positive LCD.

They also make a fearsome red-digits-on-black-negative-screen model that looks like a Beast Mode watch if I ever saw one, but I like the positive LCD better. I am not so concerned about Black Ops stealth as I’m worried about seeing the watch with my “reading glasses needed” eyesight, lol.

The Regulus is great for that – the main display numbers are large, very clear and legible. The backlight also has three intensity levels, from “good enough” to “read it from a couple clicks out, or signal with it.

” Nitpicks: It’s a little quirky, because the front-facing buttons are a bit different at first (but you will ALSO not hit any buttons by accident if you’re wearing it and have to adopt an “extremely pronated” grip with your left wrist, say, if you have to break a fall.

) They do have a very positive, tactile click when they’re pushed, so you know you “did something. ” It is not the most feature-packed digital watch in the world – that title probably goes to one of the triple-sensor Casio ProTreks with atomic time and solar power, or a smartwatch, of course, but you don’t wanna be in a war zone wearing a watch with a 24 hour battery life, and the Casios are even more humongous and expensive.

This is a real FUNCTION watch. The button “flow” scheme takes a little getting used to. With a vibration alarm to go along with “silent” mode, it would be totally bitchin’, Nixon. Helloooooo Nixon. Are you listening? Here’s a weird thing: the watch features two time zones, and you can set 12 or 24 hour display.

Also, you can set the day, date and year to different values in each time zone! So if you are fighting two wars – not just in different time zones, but different YEARS – this watch has got you covered! Finally, it is not the cheapest “rugged” digital watch in the world, at MSRP $175 (more for the Stainless) but it’s not super-expensive, either, and you get a lot for the money.

All of the minor gripes fade into the background when you’re in the “battlespace” of real life with it, lol. There is really nothing else like it. It’s very cool, and when you hit that backlight you’re right there “In the Choppaaaa!” with Jesse Ventura and Aaahnold, so to speak.

Or anyone else you’d like. And it’s a NIXON: It says so right on the front and back case cover. I figured I *had* to own at least one of them. They include a very nice box and a sticker that you can confound your neighbors with.

The people who know will know. I’m very happy with it and expect it to be extremely durable. I’m going to be wearing it often. By the way, Nixon Customer Service is EXCELLENT in my experience. Kudos and good waves to them.

I like the backlight on this display, but note that the pictures make it look like the backlight is always lit – when it is not. Pros: – backlight is strong and adjustable – watch can be silence – 3 alarm options that can easily be set and a loud alarm – buttons aren’t easily hit when moving around Cons: – IT DOES NOT TELL TIME ACCURATELY – my watch gains about 15-30seconds a week, which means that after a month my watch is running about 2 minutes ahead < -- crazy for a digital watch - The countdown timer does NOT go past a hour, which is ridiculous since it would have just required a bit of software modifications to have the countdown timer go further.

so stupid < -- the watch goes in increments that are quite dumb: 5 min --> 7>10>15>20>30>40>60 – the double chronograph should be a pro, but there is no way to start both timers at the same time < -- so you can't actually compare times accurately - the display puts the MONTH in larger numbers than the day, despite the month only changing 12 times a year and the day 365 times.

so silly – there no way to see the time of day when on the countdown watch face – the strap + buckle is very thick, so if you sleep with the watch on then you will wake up with a thick imprint on your wrist – to change time/edit settings it feels like you have to hold down the button forever (5+ seconds) to enable edits Overall, I would highly recommend you to look at other options for this price range.

Nixon really did not put a lot of care in to designing the outside of this watch but no effort on the inside of this watch. For this price range you should get a good UI, synced chronographs, a 24 hours countdown timer with more interval options, and more.

Plus any non-automatic watch has no excuse for running over 2 seconds fast a day I don’t know how this watch has such high ratings – Nixon must have purchases reviews and what not. Not worth 200$ at all.

Great feel on wrist. Lightweight and comfortable. But the “inverted display” is very difficult to read. Have to constantly tilt wrist to get the numerals to show and be ‘readable’. The light numerals on a dark background not a good idea.

The opposite as is on the black case/wristband units of the same watch much easier to read. Otherwise its a nice watch. BTW, Im 68 and my eyesight aint what it once was. Old style on left and new blue watch on right in below pic.

Compared to my other Casios (A168, F-91W) , this little piece is extremely accurate. It never loses even a second, it is always in synch with the exact internet time. I only had to set it once, at the beginning.

Stop watch, second time zone and calculator could be handy sometimes. You have to have small hands and fingers if you want to push its buttons, they are really small. No backlight, which is a little pain.

But hey, for that price, it is really not fair complaining about anything. It is plastic, full of tiny buttons, 80s retro style all over the place. So much fun with this little guy! :-).

I really liked the look of the green version but wasn’t keen on the negative display so bought the black version as well & swapped the modules to create my perfect CA-53W, green with a positive display.

This replaced my DBC-32 which I enjoyed but just isn’t as cool & comfortable as this. A lack of backlight is the only real negative but it’s so cute & cool you let it off anyway.

Great Product, I have been using it for almost a week now. I did have some problems with connecting it to the Bluetooth, but other than that its great. The accuracy of the sensors seems to be great-The Heart rate sensor works fines with a margin of error of 2-3 beats per min.

-The SpO2 sensor is not a gimmick, it works fine but is not 100% accurate, it was off by nearly 1% every time. ** -Both the sensors do not work if the watch is not on your hand**So both are just not for namesake and are functional.

-The sleep tracker seems to be accurate, it was pretty precise almost every time. But the duration is shown wrong on the watch for some(app it shows fine)-It is capable of controlling songs, media that is playing on your phone as well as the camera-magnetic charger is good and easy to connect-have a lot of exercise modes.

-The Gps works fine but there is no manual control for the GPS, it turns on when ur taking some outdoor sports activity. It searches for a signal and connects to it-There was this problem with the PAI info display (clicked a photo)-The step count feature is not very accurate, it counts my steps even when I’m sleeping, it’s off my hand and being carried.

Even during walks I have found that the step count shows more than I have taken. 40-50 more-I also had some problems logging into Alexa using the app, but the bug has been fixed now-I think the screen is a little small, so gets a bit difficult to see the graphs but otherwise, it’s fine.

-It doesn’t have an always-on display feature which is not really a big problem, it does have lit upon wrist lift(not 100% accurate but good enough). – the strap is super lightweight but the quality is not up to mark.

I sometimes feel some irritation if used for a longer time. – And coming to the battery life part which is important, they claim it can last up to nine days. It’s not true. Batter life depends on the usage and the activities of the user.

To make the battery last for 9 days, one has to be inactive and make sure not to wear the watch during nighttime and other activities, then maybe the battery life will be 9 days.

Purchase this item with no hesitation. Under the Rs 3000 price bracket it’s a very good option. You may get some Amoled offerings from Noise or Boat but they don’t give you a practical product like it.

One suggestion, don’t go with Amoled Offerings from cheap Indian brands like Noise or Boat or FireBoltt etc. They don’t provide you with such accurate sensors or good battery life. Huami is a promising brand always it’s as good as any other top brand like Samsung or Fossils or even Apple.

If you need a smartwatch which has some practical features you don’t want to purchase it just for ShowOff, then go with this brand always.

Amazefot Bip U Pro is more of a Fitness watch rather than a smart watch. I got it in sale for 3000 INR and I found it is the best in that price range. It do whatever it says in the box, no feature is gimmick, everything works properly.

Accuracy is close to perfect (99%). Step counter, sleep tracking, heart rate monitor, SPO2, and stress calculator feels quite accurate. GPS works very precisely outdoor, but it won’t connect when you try to connect indoor.

If this bothers you then it will be a upset, obviously in case of my needs, I don’t want GPS for indoor workouts, so it doesn’t bother me at all. Lookwise, it looks good though it has a plastic build.

I know I would be expecting too much from a watch worth 3000, but If it got a pre installed SSD and if I would be able to download musics into the watch, this would be the perfect smartwatch for me.

Replaced my Series 4 with the Series 7 and although the differences aren’t monumental, they do make the experience a different and better one. The larger, always on display is a feature I never knew I needed until I experienced it on the Series 7.

Surprisingly, being able to glance at the screen no matter where your wrist is positioned is arguably less distracting than having to raise your wrist or tap to wake. The screen size makes everything incredibly easy to read, and the full QWERTY swipe keyboard makes it a breeze to reply without dictation (especially useful when you are in public).

The screen is bright and clear and easy to see in all lighting conditions, whether indoors or out, full sun or a cloudy day. One of my favorite features that actually is useful in the updated Series 7 is the flashlight feature.

I use it frequently to move around in the dark to get ready in the morning easily while my partner sleeps. The screen is super bright, but also directional enough that the flashlight does not wake him.

The improved battery life and the fast charging makes it possible to track the majority of your day, including your sleep. Throwing this on the charger first thing when I wake up gives me a full charge for the day ahead in the time it takes for me to complete my morning routine.

Haptic feedback and the updated tones for alerts and other functions are very nice. Also, I just find it pretty geeky-cool that you can take a blood oxygen reading with this thing. All in all, I could have stuck with my Series 4 for a few more years with no problems…but now that I’ve experienced the Series 7, I know for sure I wouldn’t want to.

One thing to note, the green aluminum is very dark in color and almost appears as a space grey with a slight green tint. The clover Sport Band that came with the watch was not my favorite, and I replaced it immediately with the cargo khaki Nike Sport Loop.

Much better combo. Anyway, Apple nailed it again.

I waited quite a long time before breaking down and buying a smart watch. As I am an iPhone owner, the Apple Watch was the logical choice. However, it initially didn’t meet my needs. I am not sports or exercise enthusiast so most off what a smart watch provides didn’t interest me.

I am also an traditional analog watch fan and tend to stay away from modern style watches. What finally tipped the scale for me was the pandemic. I needed a way to stay informed about not only my health vitals but also email and messages without always being tied to my phone or pc.

The fact that I could listen and control my music and phone calls from my watch were extra bonuses. The new Series 7 Apple Watch seems to finally provide enough non-sports/exercise features to make sense to me.

The apps still need more evolution to really be beneficial on a wrist device but it is getting better. I am still learning how to effectively use the Apple Watch and I am sure time and updates will only make it better.

The Series 7 seems to have enough hardware features to take it further. However I am not a fan of buying a new device every year or two, so I am still worried that it might be too soon for the regular population that isn’t always in the gym or running on the track.

However I do feel more comfortable knowing that I have some basic health monitors on my wrist and a better communication system than being tethered to my phone 7×24. I can’t answer battery or lifetime issues yet because I have only owned it for just over a week.

I will say that my iPhone’s battery lasts longer than the watches but perhaps I can make settings changes to improve that. I still see a day’s battery so I can’t complain. My recommendation is that if you are looking for a smart watch, check out how many apps and features you will really use and if they are full featured enough yo justify the purchase and investment.

I got this for my father as a gift and wow, hands out the best version of the Apple Watch. This quickly became another alternative for when he’s not able to look at his phone when at work with features such as imessage and call feature available.

You can also transfer the call from the watch to the phone and vice versa, which is so convenient! The watch came with two belt sizes, which have enough space for small for wide wrists. They’re soft silicone and do not come undone, even when working in a busy restaurant.

The starter belts are great for people with sensitive skin as well. The screen is tough and durable, it doesn’t leave a fingerprint on the screen as intensely as prior versions, allowing you to have a clear screen.

Battery charges super fast, and can last over 8 hours without charge. It is frustrating that it only comes with the cable and not the box. Given that the charger box is $20, spending over $400 on a watch you would at least expect the charger box as well.

The health and fitness features were features that stood out to him, as that’s what peaked his interest in the first place. The heart monitor features have become an essential feature that has helped him learn more about his own health.

The fitness features such as step and walking tracker have motivated him to maintain those levels, as that was something he prioritized. Overall, this version of the Apple Watch is jam packed with new features that allow the watch to feel customizable and as convenient as the iPhone.

This is a great gift for that is easy for people who aren’t as technologically savvy, and is easy to learn, whether young or old.

I bought it in June 2019 and it stopped working in January 2020. When I press the light / lock button a long beep began to sound and it restarts. It is necessary to be setting everything from the beginning every time.

The User Manual is only in English. The user manual also does not have troubleshooting. The night light is very weak and the time in the dark is not appreciated.

This watch works better than I expected and is a good altimeter for paragliding. You can change the display from metres to feet as well. After about 30 minutes of measuring height, it can get frozen but quickly going back to time mode fixes that.

The Casio “Duro” or “Marlin” is a already a classic in horological circles. The finishing is nice, but to a budget, so the “applied” looking indices on the face are actually stamped in from the rear, and the lume fades quickly.

but for the $42 I paid, this is a beautiful beater watch that wears closer to a 41-42mm due to the ~48mm lug-to-lug. The blue face is beautiful, the screw-down crown is smooth, the bezel is smooth, and the quartz-operated second hand lines up with the chapter marks.

so I’m happy. Overall, a great budget diver watch that looks a bit like an 11/10ths Rolex Submariner.

Bezel was stiff, can’t rotate, same problem with the Green version I bought, a drop of baby oil lub. around the bottom of the bezel’s gap fixed the problem. Blue is easy match for casual dressing, Dial alignment to the Bezel, the minute needle alignment to the marker is right in the middle, workmanship is better than the Citizen and Seiko cost 5 times more, good resistance feedback when push the screw down crown in.

Highly recommended.

Generally this watch i superb, but the piece i bought at Walmart is terrible. Product had small scratches and dents on case, looked like used or refurbished. Case back was all oily. Casio box was destroyed.

Wow let me start by saying this will be the best $20 you ever spent. A word used very little today, I downgraded to this watch from a Casio Atomic / Solar model all simply due to the larger numbers. 50 it’s hard to read without the progressives / readers.

Was able to read this in bed at night without glasses so it passed the test. Skeptical of a 10 year battery but at that cost who cares. If any dislike and it’s very minor is the tick block count down buttons on the right side.

You get used to it. Casio if you’re reading this a watch face and numbers this size offered in Atomic and Solar model just go ahead and take my money now. Would be willing to pay more also. Thanks.

Lovely watch, well constructed. Had been keeping an eye on this particular model at a shop where I live, but it was too pricey. Then the shop went & increased the price in the window. I looked online for the same model, found H.

S. Johnson website, & was delighted to see it was £28 cheaper than the best price elsewhere – & it was in stock! Sent off for it & had the watch on my wrist within 2 days. I did my own strap adjustment as I had the right tools, but H.

S. Johnson would have done this for me if I’d given my wrist measurement. I cannot fault the service.

Finally received the watch at the second time of asking. Had originally purchased at the sale price of £92. With and extra 20% off in the January sale brought the price down to around £75. Happy days, press the button to confirm the transaction.

Low an behold, a few days later I receive an email from H. Samuel informing me that my order had been cancelled as the watch was no longer in stock. As you can imagine, I was very disappointed as the transaction had already gone through.

2 days later I look on the website to find that the same watch is back on sale at £249. 99. Now I am very angry as it looked like H. Samuel had pulled a fast one and wanted to make more money from a pricing error.

About a week later the watch is back on for £124. 99. With 20% off brought it down to around £100 which is still £25 more than I should have originally paid. All I can say is be wary of H. Samuel as they are not completely ethical when it come to business.

This is an elegant great-looking watch with high-tech features and a sapphire crystal face which looks much more expensive then it is. Upon receiving the watch it needs to be charged. This can take up to ten days (!) for a full charge.

During that time the watch appears to be “defect” and also unable to connect to the Edifice app, don’t loose patience it will come to live. The band is pressed sheet metal but very comfortable to wear and light.

Great value. This watch is very accurate. I check it frequently against the U,S, Atomic clock app in Colorado Springs and I am always pleasantly surprised at how accurate it is. My only complaint is battery replacement.

It takes a H90 watch battery that I have a hard time finding. Water resistant and comfortable plus it’s safer to wear than a Rolex (more accurate too).

Great watch for the price. Wear it all the time and dont have to worry if Im swimming or kayaking. Even wear it in the shower Only negative is the band only lasts about 2 years. But again, its only $20.

I do maintenance in Public Transportation in harsh conditions. This watch is rugged ,reliable and comfortable. I actually bought two. One for work- one for casual wear. Don’t overthink. Just get one or two.

It is a traditional watch. Black and gold match very well. It is very suitable for business occasions. The watch has a luminous design and can accurately see the time at night.

I needed a new makeup bag and was sick of having to dig around my old one so I thought this would fit the bill. The material feels cheap and the drawstrings are ridiculously long but I do like the function of being able to open it up and see everything at once.

This item did not come. Very bad company. I want my money back.

I am happy with this watch. It fits nicely on my thin wrist and doesn’t look too bulky. This watch would definitely work for a child too. The quality seems to be nice, I really like how smooth the straps feel to the touch.
