I choose the Coros watch because of the battery and accuracy. The watch did not disappoint at all. It is insanely accurate across the board. That alone makes it a stellar watch. My only negative feedback is that the user interface to select functionality such as backlight, auto light is not easy.

The Coros website is not easy to use and thus I Google everything and I find it without any issues. Wish that they would improve the user interface on the watch, the app and their website.

Switched to this watch after having some issues with my old Garmin and haven’t been disappointed. The functionality is simple enough and battery life is impressive. GPS tracking has been reliable so far.

The Coros vertex is an incredible watch that answers every need for the sports enthusiast. Greatest battery life and downloads activities instantly.

I’ve been using the Galaxy Watch 4 since its release and I have been quite happy with it as an overall smartwatch. It does some things very well, like notifications for texts, emails, phone calls, and NFC payments.

It has some great aesthetics too, like numerous watch faces to choose from and band styles that are easily interchangeable. Now for what its terrible at: Heart rate monitoring The heart rate is used to approximate calories burned along with other factors.

This is a feature active individuals, like myself, rely on when exercising, or simply staying on top of daily heart health. In no uncertain terms, the watch simply sucks at monitoring the heart rate.

The watch is totally terrible at providing a constant update to the heart rate. For example, as I’m doing a set of weighted chest presses, the watch shows my heart rate is elevated, which is expected.

The rate displayed is approximately close to what I feel and calculate in my pulse. As I sit and relax and my heart rate lowers, the watch completely fails to reevaluate this change in heart rhythm fast enough.

Nearly 2 minutes after my exercise set and the watch still shows the same elevated heart rate, but I can feel my pulse and simply calculate that my heart rate has dropped significantly, but the watch has no clue and hasn’t adjusted the rate.

The watch almost needs 3-5 minutes to accurately recalcuate, and by that point you’ve moved on. You need to remove the watch from your wrist, so that it doesn’t detect your pulse anymore, and reattach it for the sensors to take a new evaluation, and this won’t happen for several more minutes.

All of this means that the approximate calories burned during your exercise are WAY off. Until this is fixed, I cannot recommend this watch to anyone looking for a fitness tracker. As a simple smartwatch, it’s great.

For a fitness tracker, it’s simply terrible.

As noted in other reviews, a significant downgrade IMO from the Galaxy Watch 3. I agree with all the other reviewers on the most important points. Horrible battery life (46mm Classic) – someone said you can literally see the battery drain, and I agree.

You’ll be lucky to get through a day. If you want to monitor your sleep cycle with this, you’ll need to charge it a couple of hours sometime before you go to bed, and then again when you wake up. Best get a couple of chargers, for charging at work and at home.

I can only imagine the battery life in the 40mm. Very poorly organized interface as well, beginning with the mish-mash of apps you need to scroll through to get anywhere. And speaking of apps, very sparse selection – Samsung may think they’ve partnered with Google, but it’s abundantly apparent that Google does not agree.

And literally NOTHING is explained about how to do anything setting up this watch – coupled with the fact that nothing will import from any other Samsung watch you have. You’ll need to set up Samsung Pay all over again, you will have no watch faces (other than the elsewhere mentioned bloated list of included “cute” faces that are un-deletable, that only a 14 year old girl would wear), and downloading other watch faces (if you can find any) involves an arcane, multi-step process of paying vendors “croissants” and “wine,” and many of the faces linked through Samsung’s own Wearable app are incompatible.

The Google Play store has literally thousands of apps – only a few of which are compatible with this watch – and you will have only very basic apps, most of which duplicate what’s already (minimally) installed.

I could continue, but having spent the better part of a day trying to get this hot mess of hardware and software working, I’m frankly too tired. Rant off, there are some improvements in the health measurement components, and it may or may not be marginally faster (if it is, it’s barely detectable, but benefit of a doubt).

It’s also lighter than my Titanium 3. So I’ll be keeping it and hoping for some huge updates, but this effort is almost an embarrassment to call an “improvement. ” It does tell time, so there’s that.

This is my 3rd Samsung watch. My first was a Gear S3, second was a Watch 3 and now a Watch5 Pro. I can honestly say that the watch has gotten better with each iteration. I was initially worried about this purchase as it contained the removal of the front face dial that served as a functional slider essentially, but I now feel that my worry wasn’t warranted.

I believe if the watch was equal or less responsive than the Watch 3 then the removal of the dial would be an issue, but I am proud to say that the Watch5 Pro is much more responsive, especially when receiving a notification.

I used the dial mostly to initiate the viewing of notifications that delayed in displaying. Notifications are much faster to load and the viewing of those notifications are much easier for someone with aging eyes (I am far sighted and do wear medium strength reading glasses).

I think most of the software benefits has come from the move from Tizen to Wear OS. One thing that stands out to me is the texting capability on the watch itself. It was about impossible on my older Watch 3 but on the Watch5 Pro it has the swipe texting which works very well so it is a huge step forward in this area.

The battery is another big improvement although I will say the Samsung line of watches have always had much better battery life than other watches, but with the Watch5 Pro the battery life is not in days a required everyday charge.

Obviously if you use the always on display you will have a couple of days life vs not using always on display will allow double that (depending on notifications and workouts also. ) The last major upgrade I will mention is the D-Buckle band (this is one of the band options when purchasing.

) If you are like me and very particular about the amount of pressure and location of your watch, then this band is the one for you. I think of it like a belt that uses holes to achieve the proper tightness, but one hole is too tight and one hole over is too loose.

This band eliminates that issue and is by far the best band I have ever had on a watch. I have been using the Watch5 Pro for a couple of months and I have no buyer’s remorse at all.

A little background. I’ve had smartwatches, many with LTE, since they first arrived years ago. The Galaxy Watch was my favorite go-to watch from the beginning, and I always upgraded as new models were released.

My annoyance flared when advertised capabilities were either missing or poorly implemented. In some cases, promised features never came to fruition, while other times they showed up but more than a year later.

Because of this, a few years ago I decided to move to a Fossil Watch with LTE. One of the biggest draws for me was Fossil’s integration with Google Assistant. As someone heavily invested in the Google ecosystem, this one specific feature was a game changer for me.

Even though I still like the Fossil, I decided to reverse course and give Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch 5 Pro a chance. At this writing, I am now using the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Black LTE version. This is a top-notch flagship model that offers a ton of nice features, many in the health and fitness arena, and keeping in mind that my last Galaxy Watch was a model 3.

In my opinion, this watch is aesthetically much nicer looking than previous versions of the Galaxy watch; it has a premium look and feel about it. As expected, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is also noticeably more expensive than the standard version, and by a wide margin.

A big draw for me moving to the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is its 80-hour battery. While I haven’t had this watch very long, thus far the battery has been pretty good. I gave it a full charge last night ending at 10:30pm, then kept it on my wrist throughout the night in bedtime(?) mode.

I got out of bed around 6:30am and turned bedtime mode off. Overnight, the battery had dropped from 100% to 87%. Even though it wasn’t connected to my phone during that time period, it was connected to cellular.

I used the watch throughout the day, including four 2-mile walks (which the watch considers exercise periods). I used the timer a bunch and checked the weather a good number of times. And don’t forget Google Assistant.

At about 9pm that evening, remaining battery was 49%. Now, the watch face does support a good number of Complications, so I have to imagine that that impacts battery over time. There is something about the Watch 5 Pro’s watch band that I find very comfortable.

It doesn’t pinch my wrist or grab my arm hair. And the band’s design makes it very easy to make minor size adjustments, unlike more traditional bands. On the downside, the band’s clasp which sits in the center of my wrist, started losing color immediately.

There were scratch marks all over it, so much so that the underlying material was clearly visible. Fortunately, a black sharpie came to the rescue. I am pleased to say that the thickness of the watch turned out to be a non-issue.

It doesn’t feel heavy to me, although I’m guessing that the light-weight titanium material is why. So, kudos to Samsung on a good choice of materials. Setting up the watch couldn’t have been easier – it was completed in just 40 minutes.

This was followed by setting up the LTE portion. I was initially concerned that having my Fossil LTE already configured with my cellular provider would be a problem, but it only turned out to be a minor bump.

I did have to rerun the LTE portion three times to remove the Fossil, but it eventually was removed from my phone company’s database and replaced with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Easy-peasy! This recessed placement is pretty shrewd. With as many times as I’ve accidently scratched/banged my watch going through a doorway, being recessed should protect the watch face from, well, me. In the beginning of this review, I alluded to how important Google Assistant is to me.

I figured with Samsung and Google’s close relationship that Google Assistant integration was a given. Well, I couldn’t get G. A to work. Plus, one of my favorite features from the Galaxy Watch 3 was its SOS ability.

That too didn’t seem to work. I was very unhappy. Yet, someone at Google or Samsung must have heard my grumbling and decided to sprinkle pixie-dust on the watch while I slept. Because in trying them again the next morning, both worked perfectly.

Full disclosure on the SOS feature: to activate SOS to send out an alert message, it is necessary to press the home button super quick, like 3 or 4 times within a second. I admit part of the reason I couldn’t get it to activate earlier was because I was slow pressing the home button.

With all the smartwatches I’ve used over the years, this is my all-time favorite. The screen is bright and very readable, and the watch is easy to set up and thus far to maintain. It handshakes transparently with my Samsung Fold 3 smartphone, and the Wear app sitting on the phone is well thought out.

Hmm, I wonder if it supports the Audible app!.

and they’ve done a great job, especially with the open water tracking. I’ve been a longtime Garmin user, and have worked through the ebbs and flows of open water swim tracking from Garmin Fenix 2 (abysmal) through to the 5 series (better, but still some quirks).

Realtime GPS tracking for open-water swimming is an interestingly complex puzzle for product engineers: you need good hardware that can make a quick connection while the watch is out of the water, and some creative software solutions, to make sensible guesses from those snippets of data, about where you are and how fast you’re swimming.

So far, the Swim 2 has given me the best tracking I’ve had in a Garmin watch in open water (that’s entirely along the western shores of Lake Ontario for now). Indeed, I recently sold my Fenix 5s and downsized to the Swim 2, since that’s mostly what I use it for.

Occasionally I miss the incredible range of stuff you can do with the Fenix series (and related) watches, but the price difference is huge, and if mostly you use a tracker for swimming, pool and outdoor, then this is the watch for you (it will also track biking, running/walking, and cardio through the heartrate system on-board the watch, but with nothing like the bells and whistles of the far more expensive multi-sport/activity watches.

It will, however, track your heart rate in the water, as will the most recent Fenix series, I believe). I haven’t yet tried the watch in pool mode, but if you follow DCRainmaker, he put this (and every other!) watch through its paces, so I expect Garmin has done solid work on the pace, stroke and rest detection here.

Another review here at MEC notes a problem with GPS tracking during breast-stroke, and that highlights an important limitation of this or any other watch-based GPS during swimming: it needs to be above surface at some point during your stroke cycle, to connect (however briefly) with the GPS satellite network.

One thing I’ve found is that the tracking is pretty bad if you only have it in standard GPS mode, but improves dramatically if you use GPS+GLONASS mode. This makes intuitive sense: the more signals the watch can access in those brief moments above water, the less fuzzy the location calcuation should be!.

Not as good as my previous Garmin Forerunner watch which stopped charging and was sent in for repair with no news at all. Very short time between connecting to GPS and being able to start open water swimming or it reverts to a screen that takes ages to return.

Miscalculates pool swimming distance even when set properly to 50m. Otherwise suffices for open water and pool times. I do not use all the extra phone and messaging apps as I am not good with the technical aspects.

I miss my Garmin Forerunner.

A poor quality, I had 2 replacement band in 3 months, first one the clasp broke off, second time the strap at the end where screws fell off it looks like the band stretched. So im looking for rubber band strap not silicones ones they dont last and i wasted my money for this watch with poor quality of the bands.

not very happy. My last swim watch i had was TOM TOM and the band lasted 18 months then i got second one to replace it. this is the best watch for swim but unfortunately i unable to upgrade this brand due they no longer available.

Bought primarily for step tracking and regular watch/stopwatch functionality. Overall unimpressed. I was skeptical of the prior review, but it was accurate. IMO, not worth $100+. Pros: – Lasts 2 years and doesn’t have GPS (= lower cost) Cons: – I found the wristband overly rigid and uncomfortable when the watch was snug – Display visibility is worse than in the photos on REI’s website (as of this post, at least) — The display is dimmer than depicted — The display text is as small as it looks in the images.

I found it harder to read while moving than other watches – The buttons sit below in the aesthetic ridges on the perimeter of the watch, which makes them harder to press than similar watches I’ve had.

Had to take the watch off to press two buttons simultaneously. Just annoying.

This watch is exactly what I was looking for: a quality, reliable and accurate time piece, built for rugged use. Aside from the long standing stellar reputation that G Shocks command, this piece also accomplishes my desire to track my steps each day, and it also looks fantastic.

Had a FitBit years back for the purpose of tracking steps to keep healthy. Seriously think the item never tracked accurately. Came across Casio G-Shock watch / Digital step tracker. 1st off, for Me not being a “Watch” person, I thought I would have a difficult time adjusting to it.

NO. Very comfortable band, don’t really know it’s there, seems to be tracking steps well. Appears more accurate than FitBit. Seeing the numbers also helps motivate for more steps if you’re short of your goal.

Much as expected – well made and comfortable. Stays fully charged even though it is winter and I am indoors a lot of the time. Picks up the time signal reliably. The buttons are heavily recessed but one quickly gets used to them.

The only real fault is the lack of volume of the alarm. I can just about hear it if I am using the timer but there is no way it would wake me up. It is baffling why a watch with the macho name of “G-Shock” should whisper so self-effacingly.

Apart from this it is a great watch and should “see me out” (I am 75).

These really are great watches. Bought three of them, one for myself and two for family as gifts, and they are just so good at what they do – telling the time, robust, shock proof and fully water proof with auto updates and world wide time zone settings, and solar powered too, so no battery to worry about.

Has sensible features, stop watch, count down timer and five alarm settings, great facial display and amazing back light that puts some light sabres to shame. I always wanted one when they first came out in the 80’s – so feel i have waited long enough a time – lol, very stylish and a timeless classic that looks good and goes with anything anywhere.

Casio really do make good watches, much better in my opinion, than the more expensive fashion high end brands, in fact I think they are the kings of time. buy one, wear it, use and enjoy it forever, you wont go wrong with a Casio watch.

This watch is awesome. It’s practically zero maintenance, it’s the most accurate watch out there and it is classic. I can’t say it’s indestructible because I have broken one of these watches after performing a ‘sales pitch’ bit by spiking it into concrete as hard as I could.

That being said, I spiked it three times consecutively and I didn’t think it would break, because I had done that very same thing probably a dozen times before. So, it’s durable. Very durable. If you need a watch that is almost life proof, this is the watch.

was too big for his wrist so he gave it to me. what the Heck looked nice and Fit my large Frame well. thought I would get maybe a week of a cool stylish watch. then a month went by. then two then a year 4 years later the Band finally failed.

And I am rough an things as well. gotten real good at replacing my own cell phone glasses usually 4 or more every year before they stop working right. To get 4 years out of a watch. loved every G-shock with the exception of the metal one. It died Quickly. stay with the plastic. water proof up to 40 feet tested. don’t really dive deeper than that.

I’m buying two more, I bought two of these watches as gifts in 2019 and have not had any complaints, and they do wear them. My daughter loves it, its rugged enough for hiking, plus the water resistance feature.

A fully metal enclosed version of the original plastic Casio G-Shock Square watch. This version has a stainless steel bezel, strap, and screw on back cover which provides 200 metres of water resistance.

The mineral crystal glass is set beneath the bezel to protect it from scratches and knocks. Sapphire glass is available on Titanium cased models at three times the price, but really isn’t necessary due to the bezel protection.

The electronic watch module features automatic time setting from radio signals or via Bluetooth using a mobile phone app. The battery is recharged by a solar panel concealed in the front dial. A few minutes of daylight each day is sufficient to keep the battery fully charged.

The watch will go into power saving mode and maintain time for months even if stored in a drawer. The display is extremely crisp and clear with a 2 or 4 second backlight display in the dark. This can be operated manually or automatically whenever you tilt the watch towards your face at night.

If the Bluetooth app is used, all the features of the watch can be accessed and set from a mobile phone, including scheduled time and date reminders. There is a facility to locate a nearby phone by activating the phone ringtone using a button push on the watch.

Additionally a single button push can get a phone to log a specific position with date and time for later review. Quite handy if you want to log progress on a long journey. The overall finish of the watch and bracelet are flawless.

The polished operating buttons are larger than on standard models but are adequately protected from accidental operation by the case panels. Bracelet adjustment is facilitated by the use of small spring pins between the links, with four point micro adjustment at the clasp.

While you could buy a plastic version of this watch including all the functionality for a lot less money, the display would be less sharp and the feel on the wrist somewhat less comfortable. Bracelet watches are a lot easier to put on and take off than strap watches.

If the clasp should come undone for some reason, a bracelet ensures the watch still remains on your wrist. Is it worth paying all that extra money? The answer is definitely yes. The overall level of finishing and quality of the components raises this watch model from something you wouldn’t care about losing to a classic and very robust timepiece that should last for decades of daily wear.

The steel case and strap may pick up dents and scratches over the years but this will only add to the unique character of the watch. This watch is essentially flawless. Set and forget pretty much forever and the watch will keep perfect time.

On my wrist, it doesn’t disappoint: the case really does have a mirror polish apart from the flat bezel face that has a finely-brushed finish to prevent dazzling reflections; the bracelet is polished with a slightly brushed finish.

Apart from the outer leaf of the triple-fold clasp stamped from sheet stainless, all other visible metal components are machined from stainless steel forgings. Casio don’t reveal the alloy composition/grade, but as only a hard stainless steel will polish to a mirror finish, it will be much more scratch-resistant than the ductile grades of sheet s/s used for the cases and bracelets of cheaper stainless steel watches.

All this solid steel makes the watch a fairly weighty 153g, but after wearing it for a couple of days, I no longer notice. The bracelet is huge; to fit my 6½” wrist, I had to remove 6 links and tighten the adjustable clasp by 1 hole reducing the band circumference by some 51mm (2”).

There’s at least one You-tube video showing how to remove links, but there’s no need to buy a tool; a piece of 1mm solid copper wire works fine with the business end filed square and smooth. Copper is best because it’s too soft to readily mark stainless steel.

I suspect that those who complain that this watch stops working after some months, haven’t read the manual! Casio’s ‘Tough Solar’ watches are powered by a solar cell (around the digital display) that charges an internal battery; for charging to work, the whole watch face must be exposed to light (daylight or artificial).

The watch only needs the equivalent of 8 minutes of sunlight per day, and when fully-charged, will operate for 22 months in darkness. Obviously the battery of a new watch can’t still be anything like fully-charged after months in the box, so it needs a few days in bright light.

It’s an incredibly reliable system; the original battery of my previous ‘Tough Solar’ Casio lasted for over 8 years of continuous use and the replacement is still performing perfectly after 5 more! I can’t comment on the “G-SHOCK Connected” App as I’ve not even down-loaded it as it’s of no use to me unless I were to take a long holiday outside the range of radio time signals.

This watch very quickly corrected itself automatically once it was removed from it’s storage tin and I’d set the home city. Held beside the clock display on either my laptop or tablet, the seconds change in perfect synchrony.

The brilliant Casio GMW B5000 is a great quality every day watch with some great features in a retro design. It’s chunky enough without being too large and prone to damage. It sits well on my wrist and is on a different much higher level than the usual black resin bodied Casio watches.

It also feels well made with quality materials. It even feels better than Casio’s own Edifice range which I found from experience to mark very easily and look old very quickly. Worth every penny and highly recommended.

$209 down the drain. My husband loves this watch and managed to break the face simply by hitting the wall when putting his hands behind his head in bed watching TV. He didn’t realize it was cracked because it didn’t show and now water is fogging the device.

Nixon doesn’t cover the watch case or water damage so this watch literally only worked for him for 9 months. $200 for nine months. Now we are debating if we want to throw more money down the drain because he loves the design so much but obviously it’s not durable enough.

We are not outdoorsy, if you expect to hike with this it will absolutely break.

I have been a fan of Nixon watches since I bought my first years ago. I am an avid watch collector and my now (three) Nixon’s adorn a place on the same shelf as some of the most expensive. Why? because the design is flawless as is the mechanism and build.

I particularly light the merge of analog/digital which is difficult to accomplish. The newest two were difficult to buy because I couldn’t make up my mind which I liked better, but the cost of a watch as good as Nixon.

I bought both, I couldn’t say much better than the purchase is well worth it in style, form, and function.

This is a really cool design. It has all the G-Shock toughness and looks very much like the very original G-Shock (DW-5600C) but is also similar to the old Casio Fish En Time (FT-100W) and includes most of the functions from the old Casio Twin Graph series.

It’s almost like 3 classic watches merged together, then topped off with some cool modern features: Tough Solar and Multi Band 6. My only complaint is that the factory installed band and bezel do not look real great, due to the glossy finish, bright multi-colored text, and asymmetrical mesh pattern.

I highly recommend taking them off (but saving them for resale / collectable value) and installing a matte black band and bezel (ie: DW-5600RR bezel, DW-5600BB band). They look great on the watch. (Consider a bull bar too, if you’re okay with how they look).

When Casio first released the G-Shock watch line they were a high quality product made in Japan with a solid stainless steel screw back case. They later lowered the quality in order to lower the price by making them in China with a resin case.

This remake is absolutely gorgeous with added quality touches such as the engraved metal strap keeper. I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase.

Usually Casio loves to go overboard with most of their watches when it comes to colours and writing, I felt this was one of the least flashy and subtle white watches around. It’s a little too pricy imo because white watches can’t be used daily, so individually you’ll have to come to that decision if it’s worth it.

I like how the matte white has a bit of a sheen to it which will make cleaning easier. Yes negative displays are hard to see but it doesn’t bother me because imo aesthetically it looks good. Oh and I got it faster than I thought I would.

I’ve had this watch for 7 months. I’ve had Breitlings, Rolexs and Casio Protrek watches. This is the best watch I’ve ever owned. I’ve resisted getting a smart watch because of their horrible battery life and nearly as bad water resistance.

The Enduro checked both of these boxes well enough to convince me to take the plunge. I has not disappointed. I regularly ride my bike and use the GPS and bike app to monitor my stats and conditioning (I’m looking forward to using the golf app).

I also use several smart features such as determining tides, SpO2, heart rate, respiration rate and email/text/alert notifications, and more. My battery only needs to get charged every 10 days (longer if I drop down to power save mode when the battery gets low).

When it needs charging, it only takes about 2 to 2. 5 hours to charge from 9% to 100%. After 7 months, there isn’t a scratch on my watch and it only comes off for showers. This long without a scratch is a first for me by a long time.

The “diamond” coating on the case and the tough crystal are extremely durable. If the watch could fully charge in ambient, indoor lighting (like my Casio Protrek) and if it was rated for water resistance to 20 bar (like my Casio Protrek), this watch would absolutely be the ultimate watch.

But it comes close enough that it is by far the best watch I’ve ever owned.

The Enduro apparently shares a Pace tracking issue with the Garmin Fenix 6 Series watches. REI graciously (and very quickly) replaced my first Enduro with a second, as even the Garmin Product Support representative thought the watch was defective when he viewed my recorded data on Garmin Connect.

The second Enduro has exactly the same Pace tracking issue. A watch that does not accurately track moving time, and hence Pace as a function of time, does not adequately support my Hike activities. More in-depth research online revealed that the Garmin Fenix 6 series watches also have this issue, and Garmin has not corrected it to date.

Apparently the Garmin 7 series and Epix watches are indeed new and improved. Sadly my second Enduro watch is also being returned. All the other updated features (I have been using a Fenix 3 for five years) seem to work well and I love the fit and comfort of the Enduro wrist band.

So disappointed that Garmin has not fixed this issue, or even made it “accessible information” to their Product Support team to respond to inquiries like mine. Thank goodness for REI support!.

I am a dedicated athlete, long-distance runner, weightlifter, and Kenpo Karate instructor. I use my Garmin watch to monitor heart rate and sp02, and to track my daily workouts. I upgraded from a forerunner to this gem of a fitness tracker.

I love everything about this watch except for the sleep tracking. There seem to be some bugs for Garmin to work out on this watch regarding the sleep tracking. All the other features, including the solar functionality, are on point.

I love the new nylon stretch band. The newer features for weight training and other activity tracking work fantastically, and I love the new HIIT timer. However, for a watch at this price point, I would expect high accuracy for all the features, including sleep tracking.

Hopefully, a future update will fix these flaws, and this watch will be 100% perfect for me. I love this watch!.

This watch is my first venture into the MTG product range and I’m not in the least bit disappointed. The quality and features of this product are first class and can only fully be appreciated when you hold the watch in your hand.

The clever use of materials make this a very stylish and modern watch that fits the wrist perfectly. The price/quality ratio of this product is very good and is a reminder of the excellence of Japanese engineering.

The G-Shock marketing description and images do not do this watch justice. It makes clever use of modern materials and is a lovely high-tech watch that is finished to very high standard. The MT-G range fits slightly smaller on the wrist than normal G-Shocks.

It’s so refreshingly different, I love it. Thank You G-Shock.

Awesome design and technical features at a very good for the whole package price. Looks and feels classy. Easy to use and practical. Precise and flawless finish. Actually looks, feels and works better than much more expensive brands.

This is my fourth Casio G-Shock and probably my favorite. I have small wrists so the size of this watch is perfect compared to other G-Shock watches which tend to run larger. The solar power nature of this case means I never have to worry about a battery and the atomic timekeeping function results in the watch always having the right date and time.

The stopwatch and countdown timer functions are useful as is the auto-illuminate function. I could go on and on but the bottom line is that if you are thinking about buying this watch, pull the trigger.

Casio products are reliable and the G-Shock line of watches is no different. I’ve never had an issue with my other G-Shocks and I don’t anticipate any with this one.

When I first considered the Casio watches I had asked the salesman for a watch with the time, day, and date on the face in easy to read characters without pushing any buttons. He explained that in addition to those features this watch also charges it’s battery with solar cells and sets itself with the atomic clock.

I said, “I guess next you are going to tell me it turns on the light when you look at it”. As a matter of fact it does! In a low light situation when the light might be needed it comes on when you turn your wrist to look at the watch.

I have friends who paid hundreds and didn’t get those features!.

I just purchased two of these watches, I purchased them for my husband and son. Both of them had this same watch for close to fifteen years!!! It last and its a great watch! The solar and atomic are great fetchers that makes this watch last.

I will say the only thing that had to be replaced a couple of times on the old watches were the bands. I highly recommend this watch!.

Wow. what an amazing watch overall. It is so refreshing having another great watch maker in the business that provides a great alternative to Garmin. I have owned the Coros Vertix 2 for just about a year and am overall very satisfied.

I have several things that I love and a handful of things that they should prioritize improving to take my rating from 4 stars to 5. THE GOOD: 1) Absolutely incredible battery life! The best! Insane! I laugh at how often an Apple Watch has to be charged (A LOT).

Garmin is better, but still frustratingly limited. Coros, on the other hand goes for an insanely long time between charges. I work out quite a lot and use tracking on almost all of my workouts (ie: GPS) and am always impressed at how incredible the battery life is on my Coros.

2) I personally love the size of this watch (on par with the Garmin Fenix series). I’m 6′ 2″ w/ an average build and the watch doesn’t seem overly big or dainty. just right. 3) The app is very friendly to use, upgrading firmware or gps-data is very simple to manage, etc.

I also really like the customization you can do to workout screens. 4) There are also many other perks to the watch: the ability to make it left or right handed (& set which side of the watch face you want the buttons), multiple workout modes, etc.

THE BAD: 1) Complaint number one is ALMOST a deal-breaker for me. It is so, SO annoying that the map feature is not integrated into each workout. What I mean is that there is not an easy way to look at the map on the watch face while working out.

there is no way to add a “map view” while swiping between your workout data fields. It is horrible that Coros has not integrated the map into the workout screens. Instead, while you’re doing a workout and need to see where you are on a map, you have to long-hold a side button, then scroll (and scroll) to the MAP option, click on it, look around on the map, then exit the map to go back into your workout screens.

For the life of me, I have no clue why Coros doesn’t integrate the map into any GPS-based workout type. Garmin has been ahead of the curve here for years. 2) The backlighting is pathetic on my Vertix 2.

There are times that I look at my watch in variable light and can’t see anything. I tap the backlight button and NOTHING is visible. this is something that I can live without, but it is frustrating from time to time when I struggle to see what’s on my watch face (forcing me to cup my hand over the watch face and activate the light, just to see it.

3) WHY, WHY, WHY does Coros have track run, run, trail run, and treadmill run as workout options but only bike available for two-wheeled adventures?!? Why isn’t there road bike vs mountain bike? They are two completely different types of workouts that I would love to analyze independently.

4) For the love of god, Coros, please add the ability to crop a workout! From time to time, I forget to end my workout when I get back to the truck and start driving. all of a sudden my run or bike ride or kayak adventure has screwed up data due to the speed / distance travelled.

and there is no way to crop this data from your workout. Well, you can actually go into the workout in the app, edit it, and change the distance, BUT Coros clearly says “Modifying the distance does not affect the system distance accumulation or medal acquisition.

” REALLY?!? C’mon, Coros. allow us to modify the workout time/distance and make sure we didn’t set a new land speed record while running on the interstate. You need to fix this. So to sum things up, I honestly am very, very impressed with the Coros watch.

It’s battery life, functionalism, GPS accuracy, app friendliness, and much more are all very good. I just have a bad taste in my mouth (4-star review vs 5) because of the 4 issues Coros should change.

I have had the Coros Vertix 2 for just over a month now and here are my thoughts and impressions. Including some inside knowledge of where the product software will be going. My first day/first workout of backcountry skiing.

The first thing I suspected could be an issue is the placement of the buttons; most specifically, the main button. With it being in a traditional watch location I personally, run into the issue of accidental button pushes.

I’m coming from using the Garmin Vivoactive 3 for the past 4 years. I often would accidentally hit the start stop button; whether it is from bending my wrist or, or gloves or sleeves hit the button. I found that to be the case on the Vertix 2 with my first AT ski outing, even when activating the locked screen.

From a hardware aspect; that is my only complaint. Other than that, I do not notice the weight of the watch or the size. I do not have a huge wrist (178mm or 7” in circumference) yet the watch looks and feels right in place.

The strap feels really good, I have purchased a separate nylon strap from Coros for use in the warmer weather when my wrist will get sweaty. I have found this to help with moisture control and not get sores on my skin.

Wrist based heart rate. As shown in multiple YouTube reviews; the heart rate took awhile to catch up to the chest strap. But once it did, it was very close to the chest strap. The elevation came up higher than the Strava iPhone app.

That could possibly be because I used all of the satellites, the highest level the watch has. For cycling, in comparison to my Hammerhead Karoo 2; the Vertix 2 has consistently read lower elevation. After my first few activities, I went from Dual Frequency to All Systems to save on battery life.

It’s a long running debate, which device is the most accurate. Talking about battery life; this is the what Coros wants to be known for and what they boast in many of their promotional materials. I made it 4 weeks on one charge and had a total of just under 40 hours of GPS activities recorded on this device.

At 4 weeks the watch was at 5% battery life remaining, it would not sync to the app as it gave the message “Connect to power source to upload your activity. ” I plugged in the watch and roughly two hours later it was fully charged.

The battery life is really good and a big selling point to Coros and the Vertix 2. Who is this for? Coros seems to focus towards runners. I say this because in order to take advantage their EvoLab feature; all the health tracking i.

e. your fitness and recovery, you have to run for a week. This watch is for the athlete who likes to do everything but has a core training of running or has running included in their training. For me as predominantly a cyclist, and essentially an anti-runner, this watch currently is not the best for me.

What cyclist could this be for? It can be for a triathlete. It can be for the cyclocross rider/racer. Once you have done your basic fitness testing through running you can access all of the health and fitness tracking this watch has to offer.

In speaking with the product experience manager at Coros; he told me the main reason for the EvoLab being based on running is because anyone can just go out for a run. You do not really need anything other than sneakers.

Whereas cycling requires more equipment not everyone has to get going. He also told me they do have plans to get other activities to count towards your base fitness, like cycling by the end of 2022. At this point I can only give 4 stars for this product.

The main reasons being the placement of the main button and doing accidental start stops presses. The second reason is some of their widgets that operate the on the watch. I still have an issue with the sleep tracking getting cut short if you wake up after 6 hours go to the bathroom and go back to sleep.

The other widget I feel is not needed is the ambient temperature. I will post some other data comparisons in “reply” below this review for some more info.

After watching hours of YouTube reviews decided to make the switch from my old garmin Fenix 6 to the Coros Vertix 2. I live in the Pacific Northwest where it is often cloudy and most of my hikes are under a thick canopy from the trees.

This connects to more satellites which is what won me over. Typically GPS is all over the place. After multiple hikes with over a few dozen miles logged and about 27,000ft elevation gain and loss I’m super stoked with this watch.

The GPS track is SPOT ON! My previous watch and even my inreach had issues and would often create a track off trail and even over bodies of water. No issues with the Vertix and it never went off the trail once.

The elevation gain was also accurate. The thing that also blew me away was the metrics that it tracked and really helps with training or knowing how well I did or didn’t do and shows areas of improvement.

As far as route planning I was a bit concerned but it was way easier to set and plan a route and did it straight from my phone, no computer needed which was a relief. As far as the Watch color I went with obsidian which didn’t look too impressive online but once I got it it was actually cool looking and came in a sick box.

It also has multi pitch mode for climbing which I hope to utilize soon. Overall extremely happy with this purchase.

I came to the Apple Watch from a Samsung Gear S3. While the Apple Watch does most things pretty admirably, offering fairly seamless transitions between screens and apps, it doesn’t do some of the things that the Gear S3 could do.

For instance, it took downloading a second app to be able to see the number of steps on the watch face instead of just the three ‘activity’ rings that don’t actually tell you as much as you might want to know — and it still doesn’t give a live update on steps, catching up and refreshing every few minutes to give an updated number.

Additionally, the battery life is significantly shorter, lasting about twenty four hours before it needs to be charged again. However, the display is large and clear, and the watch faces are extremely customizable, allowing you to really get the look and experience that you want out of them.

Additionally, the watch bands are as easy to switch as sliding them in and out of a groove, as compared to the more traditional watch bands that require you to buy a special tool to change them out — possibly a pro for some, a con for others, given that you’re essentially required to buy Apple-tech specific watch bands.

All in all, it does most of the things I need it to do, and it does them elegantly and with little fuss, but I still miss some of the features of the Galaxy. For something as expensive as the Apple Watch, you’d think this would be standard by now, but alas.

Still, I would recommend it to others, but am disappointed enough that it’s going to miss out on that fifth star — for now.

After using my active 2 for almost 2 years, it is the only watch (smart or otherwise) that I have worn consistently. I opted for the larger size purely to read the screen size easier; however, the small size would have fit my small wrist just fine.

I love how easy it is to swap out the bands on the watch. I’ve purchased a handful of bands from Amazon just to accessorize my outfits and mood. The band that comes with the watch originally is so easy to clean and maintain.

Personally, I never tested the watch’s underwater ability, but I never had any issues when I would get it wet. For me though it is habit to take it off whenever I shower. I do not have an LTE plan on just my watch, so using smart pay via my watch does require that I have my phone on/near me.

As a person with health issues, I love the sleep monitor and heart rate monitor functions. Those are my most used apps on the watch. I docked a star because the ECG ability has stopped working for me.

It no longer properly recognizes my finger on the button. That is disappointing since that was a factor in purchasing the watch. Also, I added and then removed the period cycle app on the watch because on the watch it would glitch, but in the Samsung health app on my phone it works just fine.

Overall, I highly recommend for any Samsung phone owner looking to have a smart watch. I influenced my husband to get one for himself, and now either of us can’t imagine not having a Samsung smart watch.

Disclaimer – I think this was an open box purchase, but it came with it’s original box and band ,with zero tarnishes or any immediately noticable problems. This was not my first smart watch. I had used Fitbit and Garmin.

something I really appreciated about my Fitbit was that not only did it read my pulse and sleep, but also my Spo2, which I follow closely because of medical reasons. I was rather disappointed to learn that the ability to detect Spo2 was not available.

Another problem I encountered was nearly constant disconnecting from Bluetooth and Wireless. I had set notifications to inform me whenever this happened, and it was so frequent that I turned notifications off in annoyance.

Updates would either resolve the issue, but then bring it back later, or just make it worse in general. Next would be battery life. When I first began using this watch, it could last two days before needing to charge.

But after about six months of use, it began to require more frequent charges. Mind, I didn’t use any excessive watch faces , and didn’t add music onto the device. Storage and Ram were mostly free. But after almost a year, this watch will lost almost 60% battery life from full after maybe 90 minutes.

This renders the watch unusable for me. This became exceptionally worse after each watch update. Resetting the device multiple times did nothing. I am convinced that Samsung has no idea what they’re doing in regards to updates.

They’re far and few between, and they seem to cause more problems than they fix. I still wanted to have a Smartwatch, as the convenience is necessary for my busy life. So hopefully most of these issues will be resolved with the Galaxy Watch 4, which does come with SP02 reader!.

I’ve always been a fan of the samsung line of watches. Not being biased to other watches, since i’ve used and still own quite a few other brand smart watches. This item was purchased for my girl as a replacement to an aging TicWatch.

She needed something that would hold up against spills, dirt and other bodily *stuff* that would maybe hit it in the process of her job. With her being an ER nurse, she very frquently comes into contact with very gross situations that would be very difficult to clean from ordinary watches or even smartches with external moving or rotating faces or knobs.

That being said, it’s worked wonderfully against all situations she’s ran into. The features have come in very handy for her job. From little things that we normally take for granted or on a regular basis we don’t ever use, she’s found them to make her job very easy.

The sleep monitor has been a very solid staple with her since it’s helped her find some issues with her sleep habits. The heart-rate monitor has come in very handy with her workouts and day-to-day activities.

She’s honestly used more features and options on that watch than I ever have. The clean aesthetic look of the watch makes it a joy for any outfit or srubs combination she chooses. It’s not bulky or uncomfortable.

The options for bands is great, because she tends to go through a few of them. Overall a great option for a smart watch.

Purchased the Garmin Swim 2 for my husband’s Christmas, he had read several reviews and this was the one he was after. It doesn’t disappoint. He has trialled in our local pool, yet to do open water as it is January but can’t wait to hear the feedback from those swims.

He is also loving it for step count, heart rate and as a watch. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it looks, not too big with subtle blue details on the face.

I’ve already had this one for a year. In the open water they prove themself as a very reliable and accurate watches. In the pool they can’t count correctly distances that contain different kind of exercises.

They are best for pure freestyle and butterfly, breaststroke is also less accurate. The battery is enough for 5-7 days.

With all settings correct, double checked and an independent counting lengths to compare. This device adds on approx 50m for every 400m in 25m and 50m pool even with standard continuous frontcrawl. John Lewis will not refund or exchange and have told me to go to Garmin for them to declare it’s faulty.

For this accuracy you’d be better off buying a cheaper running watch with a swim option. Screen is nice and clear underwater but pointless when data is inaccurate.

“Very” good watch! I love the look,price(on sale @£75. ) the timer is the best in any watch when connected to a phone. it can pull on hairs a bit. but the only real draw back is the lack of solar power.

if it was solar you wouldn’t take it off. its great for working out. but i use timers/stop watch for work a lot and need solar. come on G shock stop messing about! and don’t change the app either! G shock connect is good.

Up to the usual G-shock standards. Great watch but with the added bonus of having a step counter. I got this for offshore as the usual fitness watches aren’t allowed offshore due to the charge points being non intrinsically safe but as this watch has no charge points and works off of a enclosed and sealed battery this is ideal to use.

The step counter side is basic but when used with the app it is perfect for logging and tracking the calories burnt and steps done in a day. The app has a few other things that it’s good for also. In short, great watch with basic step and calories burnt functions.

I love the aesthetics of this time piece the shiny neon lime goes well with the grey of the outer case and strap. All the functions of every other G-shock is there so I won’t bore you with them, where this differs from your bulk standard is the build in pedometer, and this is where it could have gotten better.

The accompanying Apps is well designed and easy enough to use, but the point is that you have to use it every day otherwise all those step you might have wanted counting are gone. This might just be my watch, I haven’t looked into anyone else having the problem, but this function wasn’t my main issue for the purchase, but it doesn’t seem to me to have any type of fail-safe memory to keep track and not lose the data.

I received my watch just this afternoon and am so far, very impressed. Great value at this price. Via the mobile app on my iPhone, I was able to fine tune settings and alerts, including calendar reminders, incoming calls, sedentary reminders, existing height and weight, goal weight, etc.

I’m excited to start making use of this gadget to start tracking my health. Great gift idea.

Great battery life, after 6 days still had 37%. Accurate with steps, heart rate and sleep monitoring. All the fitness programs I need and will actually use. Phone and message alerts, can reject phone calls and waterproof too.

You get a lot for the money.
