20 Best Waterproof Sunscreen For Face (2023 Updated)

I and my kids have worn this sunblock on our face under every condition (city,ski, beach) for probs the last 10 years. I’ve tried every expensive to cheap non-comedogenic brand and this is the ONLY one that BLOCKS the sun AND doesn’t create more than the usual amount of zits for myself and my 3 kids.

I’m writing this (usually too selfish and lazy to write reviews) because my son bought some new HERO brand sunblock he saw from an “influencer” on Tik Tok and preceded to wear it last weekend and he got FRIED! I tried to explain to him that although his TikToker may recommend they #1 are likely not as smart as me and #2 have not sacrificed their skin for their child and tried 50ish face sunblocks to see if cause zits.

3 Kids details: The non-listener Boy/17 ON ACCUTANE (yes I know more photosensitive but still most def should not be getting burned while wearing a “sunblock” for 2 hours walking around. and I know this because my other son now 21 was also on Accutane when 16 and wore this Elta brand and never got burned.

current Skin type: Now super dry, inflamed and a mix of underground and white head zits. Girl 20 Gets zits frequently both white head and underground. Pretty sure her zit sitch is a combo of eating and hormones.

skin type: semi-sensitive and on the dry side. Boy 21 overall picture perfect skin. maybe gets a couple of zits a month. (he’s the one that was on Accutane at age 16) Skin type: not sensitive and on the dry side.

Me 51: get an underground zit once a month even though I don’t get my period anymore! Skin Type: Normal to dry. My routine: twice a day and every day I use a French brand (not sold here) moisturizing lactic acid toner, if dry I’ll put a cream on, and then I use this sunblock.

oh and. 5% prescription Retin A gel when I remember, which is like 5 times a month. I realize we all have different skin types so please don’t blame me if you get zits. but if you do I suggest you look into other possible reasons why you got them.

I think most of us usually blame what we put ON our face. which yes is often justified but in my opinion mostly appropriate for immediate reaction situations. and for the non-immediate reactions (especially where zits are concerned) it really does make sense to consider some internal factors as well.

I’m going to try and be less selfish and write more reviews cause I seriously have tried almost every brand and product under the sun. Peace out.

I have deep-dark black skin that is also dry and sensitive (photosensitive eczema), so finding a mineral sunscreen for my face that doesn’t leave a white cast is a high priority for me. Of the mineral facial sunscreens, this is generally one of my favorites to use as the white cast is minimal/disappears fairly quickly even on my dark skin tone.

I will say that after having this product/using it for a while, I’ve noticed a little bit pilling in a product that I’d bought and had for about a year now, but it may just be that the product is less stable than when I bought it ~12 months ago.

For the first ~6-8 months that I used the product though, I had no qualms and generally used this product when I wasn’t planning on wearing any makeup/cosmetics (which is most days). As someone with dry skin, I haven’t found any issue, but I also make sure to put on a fairly good moisturizer prior to SPF, so I can’t comment if it is drying, but I have noticed that on days that I don’t put on as good of a moisturizer or my skin is dryer, the white cast stays on a little longer/is slightly more difficult to eliminate signs of residue (but again, this is slight and almost negligible in comparison to previous mineral sunscreens I’ve tried).

The cream-like consistency wasn’t as much of a problem at all, but on days that I’d like to have more of a lighter feeling of product on the face, I do opt for the more fluid formulations that I prefer.

Overall, I really like this product and I keep coming back to it/have yet to find a sunscreen of this consistency with a mineral filter that can beat it. If you’re looking for a lighter/more fluid formula though, I’d look elsewhere (which is probably expected given this product doesn’t make any claims in that regard).

I have been using mineral-based sunscreens because I believe they are safest to use. They do NOT contain skin-penetrating, potentially toxic and potentially carcinogenic ingredients. If you look at the ingredients in most of the sun screens that cover smoothly and invisibly, they have oxybenzone (possibly the worst) or octnoxate, homosalate, octisalate, octocylene, etc.

These protect from sun and are easy to use. By contrast, safe, mineral-based sunscreens are made from titanium dioxide (Anthelios Mineral) or zinc oxide. Unfortunately all mineral sunscreens that I have tried prior to Anthelios Mineral have been super effective at blocking the sun, but apply with difficulty like thick white clown paste.

Further, they are difficult to scrub off. This Anthelios Mineral is the exception. It spreads easily and doesn’t leave a white mask! A first for me. It has a bit of coloring that blends in with my skin.

My only objection is the high price for the small bottle. It is like an overpriced cosmetic. I am a bit cautious of all the complicated ingredients used to make it spreadable and not pasty white, but I have not found any research showing them to be toxic.

it is the only game in town that I have found which safely protects, spreads easily and avoids pasty whiteness, I will continue using this over-priced product.

Recently with the influx of skincare and makeup videos on apps like Instagram and tik tok, I’ve been seeing so many things about sunscreen and sun protection. I’m only 25 but I’ve started to notice some fine lines and signs of sun damage since I’m quite pale and fair skinned, which is all the more reason for me to use this.

I’ve tried other sunscreens for the face but most of them leave a white cast or make my skin feel even more oily than it already is, or even pill up on dry areas. That was until I went searching for the best face sunscreen and found this.

At first I was hesitant because of the price, and thought about it for a few months. I mean $37 for sunscreen is definitely a lot, but to those wondering if it’s worth it: it definitely is. This sunscreen is absolutely amazing, it’s light, fluid, makes me feel like I’m wearing nothing at all, and best of all leaves NO WHITE CAST!!! I love knowing that I’m protected and the spf 50 is great for someone like me with super pale skin.

The only issue I have with it is that it does leave my face looking a little oily but usually I’ll just put a bit of powder on and it looks normal. I would definitely be interested in trying something that has a more matte finish, if available.

Also I will say if you use the recommended amount of sunscreen daily you will go through this bottle pretty quick. It lasted about 3-4 weeks for me, so it could be worth investing in a backup sunscreen that’s cheaper, but overall I love this sunscreen it’s the best one I’ve tried yet!!.

This was my first time trying a sunscreen from this brand and I was not that impressed. I got this one and the non-tinted version of this, and both were just not that great. They don’t sit well over certain moisturizers (I use cerave cream) and can pill/bunch up depending on the skincare you have underneath.

The tint on this claims to be universal, but it was noticeably darker compared to my natural skintone. I’m Asian with light/fair skin (Fitzpatrick type 2), and the color difference was so obvious. I applied this to my face and neck, and it was so dark compared to my chest.

I was confused because reviews with lighter skin said the tint was fine, but it might also be that people don’t apply an appropriate amount for proper spf coverage. The tint on this is really suited for those who are a solid medium/tan skintone.

This is also not dark-skinned friendly (I had my friend try it out), as it leaves you looking ghostly. Also, the smell is similar to that of rubber tires. I do like that it’s spf 50 and lightweight, but the cons heavily outweigh the pros for me that I would not find myself ever purchasing this again.

I am taking 2 stars off for the issue I had which was pilling mostly. The formula balled right up and essentially chunked up as I rubbed it in. I always applied to a clean and dry face and it happened each time.

I tried different methods such as rubbing in, using my hand to swipe in one singular direction, applying and patting in. I tried increasing and decreasing the amount I put on at any single application and the problems always occurred.

I am taking off 1 star for the lack of response from Sun Bum. It’s been several weeks now since I sent a message wanting to express my concern and inquire as to whether there was maybe a bad batch or to see if there were other solutions for me.

I didn’t hear anything back unfortunately. I wanted to wait till I heard back to leave a review because I do believe that customer service is part of the good and bad of any product. The 2 stars I have given this product are for its lack of fragrance and irritants – this is important to me when using a sunscreen on my face and near my eyes, nostrils, and mouth.

And my favorite part of this formula and why I so desperately wanted it to work was it’s lightness, this consistency is one of the best and I’d be sold for life on this product if it continued to have this light and milky consistency but without the issues I experienced.

I enjoy the products for body that I have bought from Sun Bum. I have actually used the body SPF on my face and even though it is thick, I still love it. I just can’t really use the products that have fragrance on my face, they are not a problem for my body but I have skin issues on my face that preclude their use on my face.

I was looking for a sunscreen with a high SPF for everyday use, got this one because of the good reviews. Originally, I was going to get the bigger version of it, but I didn’t see it say if it was ok to use for face so I settled for this one instead.

The consistency is runny which I don’t mind, I find that it makes me use less when I combine it with my ordinary face lotion. No white overcast on my face, it does leave me looking a bit shiny but that’s fine, it’s something I can blot off with a napkin throughout the day.

I’m giving this 2 stars because I believe it is making my skin breakout like crazy, even on parts of my face that don’t break out usually. I do have acne prone skin so I was really hoping the ‘break out free ‘ label on the sunscreen would be a good match for me.

Not sure what ingredient is causing it, I’ve never had a reaction like that towards sunscreen. I’m repurposing the sunscreen to use directly over my body tattoos, since it’s only my face that is having a reaction to it.

I would recommend this to those who want to use it as body sunscreen, or if you don’t have sensitive skin.

I am an avid SPF wearer throughout the year and always apply factor 50 to my face. I have tried tens, if not hundreds, of facial SPFs and this one really does stand up to many others I’ve tried. The tube is a generous size, the packaging is cute but more importantly it offers broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.

I love that the packaging lists that it is water resistant up to 80 minutes, as I find instructions on these products can often not give accurate information on when to reapply. The product is vegan, hypoallergenic and has no fragrance so it doesn’t break me out like some others do.

The formula has no oil and it doesn’t exacerbate my oily skin, which is a problem I often suffer with. The texture is a nice lightweight lotion and it applies easily and absorbs quickly. I’d highly recommend this product!.

I desperately wanted to like this sunscreen. I have been on the hunt for a mineral sunscreen with 20% zinc that was safe for sensitive skin, was free from irritants, and wouldn’t completely dry out my eczema-prone skin but also stay on my face without sweating off in the sun.

I have been using Biossance’s mineral sunscreen for reference. Going on, the sunscreen was a lot “drier” and spread more like a sunscreen than the Biossance (which spreads more like a traditional moisturizer).

It also dried down much more than the Biossance, which had me believing this would be a more ideal product for daytime sweating. However, within two days of wearing this, my skin exploded with acne. I NEVER break out unless there’s a combo of factors – sweating, on my period, dirty makeup sponges, touching my face during the day etc.

And even then, it’s never more than 1 or 2 zits. This breakout was ALL over my face indicating it was a product reaction. I couldn’t believe it. It took another day for me to realize it was the sunscreen because I seriously never have an issue with products causing a breakout – I never check for oil-free or non-comedogenic products because my skin is so dry and generally loves oils and thick moisturizing ingredients.

However, upon looking up the ingredients, the coconut alkanes came up as highly comedogenic which makes sense since coconut oil will break me out if I use it on my face. I understand I could be really sensitive to this particular ingredient, but since I’ve never broken out like this before in my LIFE, I have to believe there’s some sort of ingredient interaction happening, perhaps with one of my other products that has some lower level of comedogenic ingredients that together with the coconut alkanes exploded my face.

Unfortunately, because this sunscreen was the thing that changed my skin chemistry and broke me out, it’s the one that goes.

I received this from FAB for free in exchange for an honest review. I have to say I am impressed with this product! I have sensitive, dry, rosacea-prone skin, and this sunscreen did not irritate my skin at all.

There are no fragrant ingredients, but there is a super light, almost undetectable smell that I enjoyed. I have pretty fair skin (on the lighter side of Fitzpatrick Type II), and there was a slight white cast visible on me at first.

It dissipated quickly after working the product in for a few seconds, though. I’m fairly confident it would leave a cast on darker skin tones. It spreads across the skin nicely and has calming, hydrating, and moisturizing ingredients.

It isn’t one of those sunscreens that disappears as soon as you apply it, but I like knowing I have sun protection on my face. It doesn’t feel heavy or stifling under makeup. As mentioned before, you do have to work it in a little bit.

I wish it was higher than SPF 30. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of product in the tube. I use A LOT of sunscreen, and the product lasted a lot longer (almost 2 months) than I thought it would.

It is a little on the pricey side in my opinion, but I value a good mineral sunscreen. Hopefully they formulate an SPF 50+ that has less of a cast!.

*I received this product in exchange for an honest review* I have brown skin and this left minimal white cast on me. For my melanated folks y’all know about the purple hue a lot of mineral sunscreens provide on our skin, this one is giving lavender.

It definitely is not transparent but I would feel comfortable being out in public with it and definitely under makeup. There is a noticeable white line around my hairline and in comparison to my neck my face looks a shade lighter.

It is hard to find a mineral sunscreen with a high level of zinc oxide that doesn’t leave some kind of white cast and for what this product is I think it did a pretty good job. It has a thick consistency and takes a minute to rub in but after I worked it in it was fine.

The feel on my skin was noticeable but not uncomfortable and mask like. That being said I only used about two pumps for my face. If you’re a two finger lengths girly you’ll put in some work for sure.

For people with very deep skin tones, if it’s giving Nyma Tang, it will for sure leave some kind of a cast but probably not the harsh one we’re used to.

i used to use this product 4 years ago and it always complimented my skin. it’s nice to see it still does! it’s not cakey and it’s moisturizing which is good because i have oily skin so i tend to cake up with too many products.

for a while i used the bliss block spf sunscreen because it’s cheaper and the ingredients are good,but i tended to cake up a lot and it felt too matte and patchy on my skin. this spf moisturizer is absolutely amazing ! please if you’re hesitating on buying it just do it! although it’s expensive i think this is the only spf moisturizer that suits my oily/acne prone skin well.

one thing is,i wish the bottle got all of the product out. in the end you might have to break the bottle open to finish the whole product. so besides the price and the tubing,this is 100% the best spf moisturizer on the market.

I was looking for a mineral sunblock with a bit more SPF and found this. I read a lot of the reviews and it had such great reviews I had to try it. First, the color was perfect for me. I’m a light to medium skin tone and it blended perfectly.

I noticed it does rub off on my mask when I don’t put makeup over it but I think that is with any skin product that needs to be reapplied. I have combo skin and sometimes I feel a bit dry on certain parts of my face but I’ll mist my face with something refreshing to help.

This didn’t leave a white film like other mineral sunblocks I have. I finally got thru the entire bottle and I love that at the end you know you got all the product out. No squishing the bottle, the little pump tells you when it’s gone!.

I work in a regulated medical lab, so cosmetic use is strictly forbidden, except for unscented deodorants and moisturizers. My solution is Elta MD UV Clear, which gives my skin a dewy, healthy glow throughout my long work days.

This hydrating sunscreen has a drier finish, evaporating quickly after application. That means it won’t hang around and clog my pores. My dermatologist highly recommended using a mineral, physical sunscreen (instead of a chemical sunscreen) since I have sensitive and acne-prone skin.

EltaMD UV Clear is a physical sunscreen with a moisturizing base which is crucial for those suffering from hyperpigmentation and melasma. Physical sunscreen sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun’s rays.

The goal is for the UV rays to be reflected off the skin before reaching the pigment-forming cells. It provides broad-spectrum protection, even against blue light and some wavelengths of infrared light, which can also exacerbate melasma.

Lastly, I also use a vitamin C serum (Skinceuticals’ CE Ferlic) under my sunscreen, too, for added antioxidant protection and reapply the sunscreen several times a day.

I have been an avid user of this sunscreen for years after it was recommended in a post-follow up surgery appointment. I have a long history of skin cancer. It runs in my family. After having Mohs and reconstructive surgery on my face (the surgeon did an AMAZING job, I only have one small, barely noticeable scar), she recommended using this product on my face whenever I went outdoors during the healing process.

I had 38 stitches on my face, so I really had to be really careful. I also wanted to minimize any possible scarring. She told me this product was extremely gentle and effective. She also told me she knew it was more expensive than drug store brand sunscreens, but that it was the only one she recommended to her post-op patients.

I trusted her word and followed her instructions precisely. I’ll be honest, it has been my tried and trued sunscreen ever since. In the last couple of years I had to switch dermatologists due to a change in our medical insurance.

Out of curiosity, I asked my new dermatologist what she recommended? I wasn’t the least bit surprised when she said Elta MD. She said it was the only one she used. She said the same thing as my surgeon.

it costs a little more, but it is worth it. I cannot recommend this product highly enough. If you have to skimp on anything— do not make it your sunscreen. In my humble opinion, it is the MOST important thing in your skincare regime.

I originally tried this out after having a reaction to the cult favorite UV Clear–I think my skin disagrees with the niacinimide in that formulation. Anyway, I was happy with the quality of EltaMD, but looking for something more moisturizing for my combination/dry skin and I found it in UV Facial.

This is an incredibly moisturizing and rich formula that does not leave a white cast on my pale skin. It will leave an ever so slight shine on your face, which translates to a glow on my skin, so if you are oily or prefer a completely matte look then this product probably isn’t for you.

I find it wears lovely under my foundation–something that can be a challenge with sunscreens. I love this formula so much but had to knock a star off because of the use of chemical filters. If this sunscreen was purely physical it would be a 5/5 holy grail formulation.

I keep testing out all-mineral sunscreens and always come back to this one. If you are on the drier side and don’t mind a chemical sunscreen, try this out!.

Bought this as an intro to using sunscreen on my face since I was starting to get into skincare. Pros: -Very light Nostalgic smell -No white cast -Does what it says it does -Price isnt bad compared to other Supergoop products -doesnt pill with makeup -Bottle Shape is neat/cute -I can use it on face when going to the pool -long SPF Cons: -If you have combo/oily skin BRUH youre gonna feel this on your face.

If paired with a heavy moisturizer made my face feel super greasy/sticky and made it look mega shiny. I stopped using the moisterizer I was using to see if it got any better but not really. -Hair would stick to my face because it wouldnt absorb at all.

So i had to keep my hair tied up. -If you live anywhere humid itll just sit on your face -better for Dry skin types probably -You may not like the slight sunscreen smell -If you wear glasses, it might get on your glasses -if you touch your face then your phone; it 100% get on your phone.

I wont be purchasing again. I personally stopped using it after about 4 weeks. Since I have combo/oily skin I ended up going with their Mineral Matte Sunscreen for makeup and Unseen sunscreen for no/minimal makeup.

I like a weightless/light matte feel throughout the day so Im not sure why this was reccomended to me in store. HOWEVER, It is a good sunscreen, just not for my skintype. I have some scars and a bf with dry skin so I will use this on that instead.

Will probably use it if I plan to go swimming for its water resistance and long SPF.

[Sunscreen Review] Supergoop! Every. Single. Face. Watery Lotion SPF 50 PA++++ #complimentaryfromsupergoop ~ I want to start this review saying that I’m honored to try this new product out and for the ability to promote a product made for everyone.

This is a brand NEW sunscreen and is the first sunscreen I’ve ever tried from Supergoop! so it was a huge deal to me! Here’s what I thought… ~ Star Ingredients: Alcohol, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Green Tea Leaf Extract, Tremella Mushroom Extract, & Apple Fruit Extract ~ Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 50+ PA++++ ~ SPF Filters: Avobenzone 3%, Homosalate 9%, Octisalate 5%, & Octocrylene 9% ~ Zero Whitecast ~ Water & Sweat Resistant up to 40 Minutes ~ INCI List: This has a simple & expected INCI list.

The alcohol is quite high up on the INCI list, but I have to say that I didn’t notice it at all and wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t read the INCI list. This is so moisturizing from the other ingredients in here and the formulation as a whole that I have absolutely no worry about the alcohol.

~ Price: $36 [$0. 72 per ml] ~ Texture: Lotion ~ Finish: Dewy to Greasy ~ Scent: Alcohol to Floral ~ Size: 50ml ~ My Usage: Mornings as last step ~ Rating: 3. 5/5 ~ Experience: This is an amazing sunscreen, but it has a dewy finish which I hard for me to get around.

For someone that has oily/combo skin here in Hawaii it’s hard not to notice the greasy glow that this sunscreen gives me. For that reason, I absolutely need to powder this which isn’t a problem and results which me having an inner glow that I like.

~ Final Conclusion: I would recommend this for those with dry skin because it’s ultra moisturizing and leaves a nice radiant finish to the skin. ~ Recommended for: Sensitive, Combo, Dry Skin Types.

This is not a bad sunblock at all but it is overpriced for something SO similar to their “Body” PLAY EVERYDAY LOTION which they SPECIFICALLY advertise as usable on the face. Similarities: -VERY similar texture.

Maybe a little more watery, a little less tacky -Identical appearance on skin. This isn’t a matte invisible lotion, it will leave your face with that telltale sunblock shine/”glow” that some people like.

I put this Face lotion on one-half and their EVERYDAY PLAY on the other half, wore it throughout the day, indistinguishable. Same “glow” that by the end was a little oily because of my combination skin -Same smell / minimal and inoffensive Differences -Like I said, maybe a LITTLE runnier and a LITTLE less tacky -More face friendly ingredients about pollution and blue-light blocking -Packaging, I guess It’s not in itself a bad sunblock, far from it, and I won’t be returning my purchase.

Once I finish it though, I’m going to have a hard time justifying paying twice the cost for what feels and looks and protects exactly like their other sunblock lotion. If I was going to pay THAT much, I feel like I should just get their UNSEEN SUNCREEN which applies so silky and looks so demi-matte.

Hard for me to repurchase, hard for me to recommend when there’s better bang for the buck within the same brand.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Gonna go to Target and try to get my money back. This is horrible! I have an olive skin tone and this left me looking WHITE, the cream is runny when you pore it on your hands but it’s SOOOO thick once you get it on your face.

It doesn’t rub in easily, I tried washing it off immediately after I put it on but it will not come off!! I washed my face twice and I can still feel the residue on my skin. It’s hard to explain, but it left my skin stiff and kinda sticky.

Friends recommended other sunscreens but bc I have sensitive skin, I only use Aveeno products, I bought this hoping I could use it as a daily face cream but I’ll never put this on my face again! Have never had this much trouble with Aveeno before, so disappointed!!.

If there is a person who is very particular about sunscreen, its me. I constantly have to reapply every 45 minutes to an hour because I burn so bad. I also usually spend each event on the side lines wiping my eyes with a towel or my shirt wondering why I even applied cream or spray sunscreen on my face to begin with because once I sweat or get in water, every sunscreen I’ve tried melts and drips into my eyes.

This causes an extreme burning and discomfort in my eyes for the rest of the day and I can never seem to enjoy myself. With this Aveeno® Positively Mineral Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 50, I didn’t experience this because the sunscreen applies smooth, but solid.

I will admit, it did take me a minute to get over the fact it looks like you are rubbing deodorant on your face, but the sunscreen goes on so smooth and works like a charm so it is well worth it. I never experienced any burning on my skin during the days I used it.

I also really like that it is made for sensitive skin like mine and free from parabens, fragrances and phthalates. I typically get breakouts on my face and shoulders after using regular spray or cream sunscreens but with this product that is targeted for sensitive skin, I feel guilt-free putting it on because I did not experience a break out after using it!!.

I’ve loved every Sun Bum product that I’ve tried, and needed a new facial SPF when I decided to try this. I usually strongly dislike anything glowy or illuminating, but this is a very subtle and super fine-grained glow that looks amazing and very natural.

It also feels really light on the skin and blends wonderfully. No cast or pilling or waiting for the product to sink in. However, it is watery, so you have to be careful if you don’t have the bottle tipped correctly, otherwise you’ll have droplets and wasted product everywhere.

This was a little bit annoying to me at first, but it’s becoming easier to deal with as I’ve used more of the product out of the container. I was also initially bummed about the lack of fragrance, as I love their signature scent.

However, I’ve come to appreciate this, as fragrance can be irritating for some, and this product is good enough that I’m actually glad they made it more inclusive. There is a slight tinting to it which helps even out my skin tone, something I also appreciate because I don’t wear makeup – something that may not work for darker complexions or those that do layer with makeup.

All in all, great price point and a worthy addition to your SPF collection.

Personally I wanted to find something similar to supergoop’s glow screen. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this in Ulta. Firstly it was $15. 99 which is perfect because who wants to pay hella coins for spf girl cos not me.

I have been suffering a weird bout of acne on my cheeks so I was apprehensive when it came to even trying anything new in my skincare but being in my mid to late 20s I knew I needed some asap. As I go to the gym I wanted that natural cute glow pre workout so I thought this would be good.

I have to say I do like this a lot it’s become a regular in my skin care regime, the consistency is a little runny but it has some pearlescent drops in it (not shimmer). When you rub it into your face is does sink in beautifully.

The only thing I don’t like is the packaging, the twist lid thing, ugh it’s so messy because it’s kinda runny it has it going everywhere. But the product itself is pretty great so I would check it out if you like Glow screen!.

I have a deep skin tone, have sensitive skin, and prioritize skincare over everything! I reapply often and was looking for a good sunscreen that was easy on my skin, didn’t have white cast and didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.

I wanted to like this because the formula feels pretty good, and I think the price point is good value. However be warned – this sunscreen has a tint to it I can’t really describe, so when it first came out of the bottle I was skeptical.

It rubs in pretty nicely but gets stuck and becomes visible in the hairline and on dry/textured skin. If you tear up/get a bit of water on your face within 15 min, it streaks off of your face. When I wash my hands after I apply, I can visibly see the tint run off into the drain so.

Do with that info what you will! I don’t know how this would even hold up under makeup and to be honest – I wouldn’t even try. Like I said – I still think its pretty good, but maybe this is more of a 1st application of SPF rather than one I would want to use/reapply regularly.

I developed an allergy to chemical sunscreens over the past year. I tried all sorts of dermatologist recommended and sensitive skin sunscreens but still had issues with my skins reactivity. I’d either breakout or have an allergic reaction.

I used to be a SPF every day sort of person, but I had finally had enough and stopped wearing sunscreen altogether. I bought this after extwnsive research and had it for several months before I finally decided to do a patch test.

I was terrified, but nothing happened. No reaction! After a week, I tried it all over my face and let me tell you, I am amazed. Finally I have found a sunscreen that doesn’t cause breakouts or irritate my sensitive skin!!! After three weeks of wearing this stuff I have also noticed that my acne has gotten better, my hyper-pigmentation is not so bad, and it just goes on so well.

It can leave a white cast, but for a very fair skinned woman, I like that it lightens my redness. It’s also very luminous. It will cling to dry patches though, and be very careful to rub it in around the brows and hairline.

It also has a strange smell, but it goes away after it dries. Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone struggling with a sunscreen allergy and acne.

I have two favorite facial sunscreens right now and this is one of them. I love that it is completely unscented (I loathe, mean loathe sunscreen smell period) and liquid for easy application. When first applied, you will have a white cast, just keep gently rubbing it in and it will disappear.

I bought this sunscreen to see if I can use it as my daily SPF without it breaking me out. I’m absolutely thrilled to report that that is the case! My skin is incredibly sensitive to ingredients that cause breakouts, so I was nervous to try this.

I’m so glad I did! The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there is a slight white cast when I first apply it, so I’m not sure how it would do if I tried to reapply over makeup throughout the day.

Also, in certain spots (mainly where my glasses rest on my face), my sebum mixes with the sunscreen and leaves a bit of white residue. Overall, I find this product’s value to be unmatched. If you’re debating whether you want to try it because your skin is sensitive, you do.

First, let me tell you a little about myself. I’m in my forties, with oily, acne-prone skin, and living in one of the hottest cities in the USA, Las Vegas, makes my challenges with sunscreens even worse.

With the very shiny sunlight here, I have to put on sunscreen even for a very short trip to the pharmacy or grocery store. Almost all sunscreens make me more shiny, oily looking, and even make me break out.

Some of them that are lightweight may not cause breakouts but make me look sweaty after an hour of being outside. I have light skin in winters and light to medium in summers, and many sunscreens leave a white cast or show ashy under makeup, especially during summertime.

My best tinted sunscreen that I use alone, without makeup, is “Australian gold” which I really love, but unfortunately, it’s not good under makeup sunscreen and for days that I need to look fancier or more polished I need to find another clear non-tinted lightweight sunscreen.

I love La Roche-Posay products and one of my go-to sunscreens has been “Anthelios Mineral ultra-light SPF 50”. But it makes me look sweaty after 2 hours of staying outside on a warm day. So I decided to try this one.

It was absolutely beyond my expectations and I finally found my holy grail under makeup sunscreen! It makes me and keeps me matte for hours even under direct sunlight. It does not change the color of my foundation( I mostly use” Dior Forever Clean Matte foundation”).

It is very lightweight and doesn’t slide or peel, even acts as a primer, smooths out the look of my big pores, and doesn’t sit in fine lines. I tried it for a week now with 3 different foundations and it worked with all of them absolutely well.

It doesn’t have any weird smell and I use it on my under-eye area(not too close to the eyes though) and it doesn’t sting nor make my eyes irritated. I’m so picky about skincare and makeup products, but couldn’t find any negative point about this sunscreen, absolutely amazed by it! My only advice would be for dry skin people, it may not be a suitable choice for them, as it’s really matte, although definitely not flat.

I wanted to love this sunscreen cause everyone speaks highly of this brand but I HATED this sunscreen. I’ve tried many sunscreens and this is probably in my top two least favorite ones. I am an olive/brown girl and luckily this didn’t have a white cast which is the only good thing about it lol.

The finish of it is completely matte which I dislike cause it leaves me looking like my skin is dry. I personally love when sunscreens give you a glowy healthy look and this is far from it. I have combination skin but more towards the oily side so if you have dry skin this might not be for you.

It stings my eyes soooooo bad. Like really bad. As soon as you get even the tiniest amount in your eyes it’s over for you. The burn is persistent and lasts for a good while. So you cannot rub your eyes or sweat at any point while using this sunscreen.

I’ve worn this under makeup several times and it ends up messing up my makeup cause eyes will start to burn and water. And on top to that, it doesn’t sit well under your makeup. It pills when you try to layer products over it, wether that’s your moisturizer or makeup.

I’m so disappointed that I paid for this. And it’s too late to return. Don’t waste your money on this. There are other sunscreens for cheaper that will work better than this one.

extremely disappointed. for over $10 per ounce, you’d think i would be able to use this sunscreen over at least one other product, like a serum or one of my derm prescriptions, but no. When I try to layer this as the last step of my morning routine (which is only face wash and one prescription spot treatment), it refuses to absorb, becomes chunky and stays very white, almost like its expired (i checked, mine isn’t).

Then in some spots it pills, in others it becomes flaky and dusty and makes it look like my eyebrows had dandruff :’). Also, when i apply it, it burns a little and feels like its full of grit that my face can feel but my fingers can’t.

The chunkiness doesn’t happen when i apply it as the only product on my face, but I bought this with the hopes of layering it over my normal routine, which i can’t do. With my experience with this brand, i bought this thinking i was getting something higher quality than CeraVe (which layered like a dream) and i was very disappointed.

Wish i could get my money back. And my hopes were high because i typically love this brand!.

I have been doing a lot of research on sun block and I really like this one. It is a mineral sunblock, meaning it has zinc and titanium. Zinc typically doesn’t irritate, where as something like oxybenzone which is found in a lot of other sunblock, will often irritate my skin.

Being that this is a mineral or physical sunblock, it leaves a lavender/whiteish cast on my medium brown skin tone. The cast is somewhat noticeable on my skin, in my opinion. I think this would leave more of a whiter caste on deeper skin tone.

The consistency of it when it comes out the bottle is a bit watery. According to my dermatologist, physical sunblock’s don’t get absorbed into the bloodstream and it blocks UVA which is responsible for destroying the collagen in the skin.

For these reasons, I don’t care how I look with this white/lavender cast! I am preventing my skin from aging. PLUS, if my confidence isn’t as high that day, I’ll have a mask covering half my face and sunglasses covering the other half.

So it really isn’t an issue for me. I would recommend this product especially if you have sensitive skin. I think this product and the white cast it leaves is not as bad as some products with higher zinc content.

Its easier to blend in compared to some other zinc sun blocks I have. The issue I have is that it is a small bottle for the price. They can go ahead and make this 10 dollars instead of 15 or something.

Just saying.

This is a hybrid sunscreen and leaves no white cast. Genuinely one of the best sunscreens I’ve ever used. Absolutely no pilling, even on reapplication. The scent is fine and it doesn’t leave me a greasy mess making it easy to apply the recommendation amount.

It does leave the slightest bit of pigment on my dry patches but it’s gone with a few pats. I find it sinks in much quicker when you use sweeping motions from the centre of your face outwards, as opposed to circular motions.

It’s also highly affordable and in a larger bottle that many sunscreen.

This sunscreen is absolutely fantastic! I have oily skin and keep looking for sunscreens that are dry when applied. It turns out that most sunblocks in my city are not that dry. They keep my skin shiny, which I don’t like, But this one is just second to none! It simply doesn’t shine.

Got this online for only 190Php. Wasn’t expecting much from the product since its relatively cheap considering the amount you are getting, which is 70ml. I am sensitive to SPFs and usually get tiny bumps on my chin upon first use but not with this one.

Edit: I’m taking away 3 Stars. -After continued use, this product has clogged my pores. I developed tiny whiteheads all over my face and around the eye area. I am not acne prone. I didn’t notice the whiteheads right away because they are really tiny.

I know someone below mentioned talc as a reason to cancel this sunscreen. However, rest assured that if you like this sunscreen, you can keep using it. Talc has been linked to cancer when it is not responsibly mined and tested because certain materials naturally found in the earth (like talc) can become contaminated with dangerous materials like asbestos.

However, my dermatologist says this is really unlikely to be a cause for concern. Many doctors say the same. The FDA released a statement in 2021 on this matter that I’ve found helpful also. Anyway! This is pretty good! The color is a warm with some golden undertones.

It can oxidize and look a bit orangey, so if you have cooler skin, this won’t be a great look. It will also leave a grey cast on any skin tone deeper than light brown (roommate tested). Nice spread, though it’s quite liquid so it can be a little tricky at times to work with.

Doesn’t burn the eyes or my sensitive skin. My only complaint is it’s more drying than other tinted chemical sunscreens I’ve tried like Colorscience. It dries quite matte and definitely accentuates dry patches of skin.

If you’re oily, this is a great option. If you’re like me, you need serious moisturizer underneath to make it work.

Sheer Physical UV Defense Sunscreen. This is a 100% mineral sunscreen containing Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, and enhanced with artemia salina (a plankton extract to help boost skin’s natural defenses to UV-and heat-induced stress) It’s a very thin and milky formula and sinks in nicely.

It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin like a lot of other mineral sunscreens that I’ve tried. The finish is matte and smooth. My face has zero irritation with this one and feels very protected. I don’t experience any eye stinging.

It does have a very minimal whitecast on my skin tone. I usually can’t handle a whitecast but with this one I can look past it because it’s more breathable than other mineral sunscreens I’ve tried.

Plus it’s very minimal. They also have a tinted version (Physical Fusion UV Defense) that looks nice too. Overall I love it !.

Love this SPF! Non-irritating/super comfy to wear, stays in place, doesn’t look crazy even when I’m sweating. I have very sensitive skin and experience zero irritation with this formula. I even apply it to my upper and lower eyelids (I have an especially hard time finding products that don’t make my eyes sting) and my eyes are happy campers.

I buy the tinted version which looks like it’ll be too dark for my (very) pale skin, but the tint disappears on application without having to blend it. I also LOVE that I can wear this SPF without worrying that I’ll look like a streaky mess if I get really sweaty (like an outdoor HIIT workout during a heatwave level of sweating) this SPF has never looked like it’s melting/streaking off my face–which has been my experience with other SPFs I’ve tried.

It does dry down a bit on the matte side–so, if you’re into the glazed donut skin look you might want to check out Isntree ‘s Watery Gel SPF which looks like it gives good dewy-ness (Charlotte Palermino’s raves/demos it on IG @charlotteparler).

For me, the slight matte-ness is only something I notice in the winter, so I just make sure that I don’t skip my moisturizer step before SPF and it’s a non-issue.

I tried this sunscreen today. I don’t have much experience with sunscreens I’ve only used one other and really didn’t like it. This one is a white cream with no scent. I started putting it on my face and got worried because it was staying very white and not soaking in but after letting it sit a minute the white did disappear.

It is sweat resistant for sure! It feels kinda strange on my skin. Its not greasy or uncomfortable but it gives me a cool feeling on my skin. Its hard to explain. I didn’t have any issue with it coming off when I wiped the sweat off my face.

It stayed in place really well. Its spf 30 and protects from uva and uvb rays. I’m interested to try others and see how they compare. I also want to test this under makeup and see if it wears well.

I am very active outdoors any day the weather permits. It’s very important to me to protect myself and my son from the sun’s harmful rays. definitely does it’s job at protecting our skin. I like that it’s sweat proof and waterproof.

Many areas of face left with white “gunk” (for lack of a better word) after about 15 minutes even when I make sure to spread it out evenly. I then started to use less but it still happens. It’s almost as if it precipitates out of my skin no matter how much I spread it out with my hands.

I usually love Neutrogena’s facial sunscreens but this specific one has been the most disappointing in this aspect. Other ones that I’ve used in the pat absorb into my skin perfectly and don’t leave an uneven white film.

Despite this, I still like the texture and feel of it. The problem I mentioned above is mainly a cosmetic one as I agree with other reviews that it feels light. Would not buy this specific one again, it’s just that the pandemic has left limited choices in my local area.

I usually buy the Ultra Sheer Dry-touch 55 on my face, neck, chest and arms. I thought I would try this since it was a higher number and it was designed for an older face, like mine. I read some reviews that it didn’t blend well.

It seemed to blend into my light skin ok but I noticed it took a little more effort. In my face application, I always cover my eyebrows. This revealed little flakes or balls of the lotion that did not dissolve and I couldn’t get them to blend in.

I know this is a skin product but the Ultra Sheer never did this. I also don’t seem to need all this extra oil or cream or what ever it is for aged skin that seems to be in this. It isn’t much but I noticed the difference.

Perhaps someone with dry skin may like it, not me. I won’t buy again. I’ll stick to Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry- Touch which is Excellent. I use that everyday.

I needed a new facial sunscreen for vacation. I’m extremely fair skinned and photosensitive. I decided to try this after seeing it at Target. Pros: affordable, mineral sunscreen, not greasy, did not irritate my face, prevented sunburn.

Cons: bit hard to blend in, it’s mineral and not tinted so it might leave a white cast on darker skin tones. Note: as with many mineral sunscreens, this contains Butyloctyl Salicylate which is a chemical sunscreen booster.

It’s a bit misleading since it’s in the same family as chemical sunscreens. It’s quite common to find it in mineral sunscreens but this might be a deal breaker for those who have a sensitivity to it or are trying to avoid any of these types of ingredients.

I’d highly recommend checking out Lab Muffin on IG or Twitter, she’s a great science-based source of info about how brands play marketing tricks about “safe” or “unsafe” ingredients. I didn’t try it under makeup so I can’t really speak to how it would work for that but based on how it felt after it absorbed and dried down, it felt like it’d be ok under foundation.

I’ll update my review if/when I use it under makeup. Overall, I’d recommend this for fair skinned people. Eucerin is a brand I trust for dry skin and eczema so I’m happy they now offer sunscreen.

I never write reviews so trust me when I say this is the best face spf I’ve ever used. Granted, I try to stay away from higher-end spfs because I don’t have the funds for it, but this one is still at the top of my list.

One day I googled a dupe for the supergoop glow screen and this popped up on google so I thought I’d give it a dry. I have now repurchased it 5 times and will continue to buy it until I find something better.

It adds such a nice glow to the skin and doesn’t have any white cast. There is a bit of a tacky finish, but I really like to layer it under makeup so that doesn’t bother me. But even if you aren’t wearing makeup, it does dry down after about 5-10 minutes so it’s not an issue either way.

It also doesn’t pill, break me out, or burn my eyes or skin. I have really sensitive skin and have had a really hard time finding an spf that doesn’t irritate my skin, but this one doesn’t irritate it or sting at all.

I seriously recommend this sunscreen to everyone I know and I can’t recommend it enough. If you don’t love the glowy look then this one might not be for you. But if you’re like me and like to look like a newborn baby, then BUY.

This sunblock is a workhorse. It lasts all day under makeup with no need to reapply under normal conditions. Still need to try it on a full day of sun. The white cast is minimal and disappear for my skin type – lightly tan/sand.

I would buy this again and feel comfortable trusting it to do its job. It is lightly fragranced but even though it smells nice, I would prefer less perfume in the product.

J’adhère tellement cette crème que je l’utilise des que je sais que je vais sortir. Avec un parfum d’agrume agréable qui laisse une note délicate sur la peau. De plus sais rassurant de se dire que le produit et biodégradable à 95% et que sont packaging à 44% en moins d’emballage.

J’ai glissé mon tube de crème dans mon sac pour renouveler l’application si besoin notamment après la baignade. C’est bon de se savoir bien protégée. Je rentre bronzée et aucune tâche brune sur mon visage.
