20 Best Waterproof Pants For Work (2023 Updated)

I’m a gardener for work & a leisurely fisherman at play living in the PNW ( Pacific Northwest) and the Grudens pants are flexible,an easy fit,& great at keeping my legs warm & dry. Tackle Direct was reliable,cost effective and promt on my purchase.

Highly recommended if you want top quality gear at a reasonable price.

The pants are not waterproof. I fish a lot in rough, rainy conditions and these are not suited for that. Ok for casual, light rain but water seeps through when it’s a constant downpour. Also, one of the snaps on the jacket broke through the fabric on a windy day.

Bottom line: not for rough weather or constant use.

I bought these pants ‘cos I was going to Boston to support my wife and daughter who were running the marathon in April 2018 and the weather was predicted to be, “persistent rain”. As it turned out the weather was really terrible with constant at times very heavy squalls and winds blowing the rain horizontally in the face of the runners.

I stood in this weather for over 5 hours and was dry and comfortable throughout. The pants fit well, have great pockets that kept everything dry, including my phone in the thigh pocket. Strong adjustable belt that comes with the pants was comfortable and easy to adjust.

The lengthy side zips also made for easy on and off over shoes and under pants. Pants are great fit, value and TUFF in the worst conditions.

These have become my go-to pants for any occasion. They are unbelievably comfortable and super stretchy. I have a few pairs and will buy more as more colors come available. 31 length is perfect for me as the 33 felt a bit too long.

Pros: Hold up nice in wash, great 4 way stretch, between 10-20 percent off coupons always available, great price for relatively close to the name brand, stylish. Deep pockets, Cons: waist has little to no stretch, material feels a little thicker than the name brand, makes a “swoosh” noise when rubbed together.

Leg isn’t as tapered as some might like.

I am a PGA golf professional and yoga instructor 6′ tall and 178lb. I have been wearing Lululemons for several years and find CRZ to be more comfortable especially in south Florida where it’s 100 degrees in the summer.

Can’t get over the price!!!.

I’m a high school teacher and when I am on my feet moving all day I need pants that are along for the battle. My CRZ Stretch Slim Fit Pants are the absolute best! They were designed for a 6’2” 215 pound athletic guy! Thanks so much CRZ!.

Preface, part of this is on me. I expected a work pant to have some reasonable burn protection or resistance which these do not. While l did not see any statement on the description advertising FOR burn resistance there is also none stating AGAINST so as an overall workpant I probably would not recommend.

That being said I did put them through the ringer. Being as satisfied as I was with the way they held up well during a day of clearing brush and some mild construction work I decided to give them a weekend test in the desert.

While they were a very comfortable pant for walking/hiking and general traversing in he Southern California sun I made a mistake by hoping for more than advertised… As for their initial burn resistance, concentrated blasts from a Roman candle seemed to vary anywhere from a dime to a quarter size imprint.

Tear resistance while running through bushes seemed spotty, while I might expect a lesser pant to absolutely tear these held up okay, save for minor tears near the knees and shins as I flailed through desert shrubbery avoiding being struck with small incendiaries.

Following their satisfactory performance through pyro sponsored activities I decided to test their durability on a gentle excursion with the dirt bike. While they breathed well and held up to subtle strikes from branches, once the unfortunate moment came that I found myself inverted from vertical riding to horizontal, I realized quickly, from the warmth in my leg, these pants are definitely not burn/exhaust pipe proof.

Save for some minor scrapes however the overall durability was generally satisfactory, excluding the massive melted hole through my pant leg. To surmise, good for general work not involving grinding/welding/open flames, not recommended for dirt bike riding or Roman candle wars.

Probably not worth the near $80 price tag in my opinion.

Ok, so i work in a very dirty and rustic field. I am constantly on my hand and knees servicing equipment in very dirty environments. I came across these while searching for possible replacements for my aging Duluth Alaskan hardgear Turnagain Standard fit cargo pants item 84323.

They are the best pants i have every purchased but they are not available anymore and haven’t been for 3 years. My current stock of them are still holding strong but will eventually degrade. So to the point I got one of each T1, T2 and T3 in black.

I do like these, but I have several issues with them. 1. ) They are not as stretch as the Alaskan Hard gear. For comparison the T1s are 85% nylon and 15% spandex (if i take a 2in amount of leg and stretch it, it stretches to 2.

5in). While the Alaskan turnagain are 89% nylon and 11% spandex (if i take a the same 2in amount of leg and stretch it, it stretches to 3in). 2. ) I got 38/34 which is my normal size and these are tight but not overly tight, but if i gain even a few pounds they will not fit.

I might have to do 40w to have some room. the Alaskan hard gear stretch and give a lot but stay firm to my body even without a belt. 3. ) PLEASE FIX THIS. The Zipper Fly. ok this one is almost a deal breaker.

the fly when unzipped is 4. 75in. i measured all my pants and they vary from 5. 5 to 6 in. 4. 75 is too darn short. It is a struggle unzipping and doing my business for sure and find that i need to unbuckle my belt and unbutton my pants to get the job done.

PLEASE FIX THIS. 4. ) The front pockets are abnormally high and hard to get into when sitting in car so i dont put anything i need to access in my front pockets so they are a waste. So they are the closest i have found that are in the range of the Alaskan Hard gear Turnagains.

even the basic Duluth Flexpeditions are no match for the Alaskan ( i own 2 pair of those too). So far i have worn them everyday and put them through their paces. So far only the T1s. It’s not cold enough for the T3s and just barley for the T2s.

I did use the T3s on the coldest day which was low 40s with cold high wind/drizzly day and i felt Zero wind or wetness on my legs. and was starting to sweat a bit after a 1. 5 mile walk with my (2) 110lb anatolian shepherds.

so the T3 will be good when it gets real cold up here in Northern Mich. and The T2s will be a good use on normal cold winter days. If they fix the zipper and possibly a bit more stretchy i’ll buy more but with what i have i will keep looking.

I do like the dedicated Phone pocket which fits my Z fold3 very firm and rarely falls out unless i am on the ground rolling around under machinery. the T1 are quite light and the T2 are a bit heavier and the T3 are quite thick and feel water repellent like with a slight rubbery feel (which might work well while outside doing snow removal) For the price they will be ok.

but if your a boardline 38-39 you mighty want to goto a 40. Because they do not give enough to fit a 39 waist comfortably.

I have four pairs of the T2 pants now. All of them are still in great shape. I just liked them so well I bought another two pair after the first two pair I originally bought in 2020. I definitely like the fit and sizing better than some other big brand name work pants I’ve tried.

For reference, I’m 5′ 10″, 170 and I wear a 34×30 in the Truwerk pants. I have a little extra room in the waist, but I like that over them being tight. For a 30″ inseam, they really fit me well and don’t break too short like some other pants I’ve tried.

I really like the new design upgrades of the newer T2 pants, specificly the reenforced tabs sewn on the parts of the pockets where you might clip a pocket knife or EDC flashlight. I carry both a pocket knife and flashlight and the newer design with the reenforced tabs makes the clips on a flashlight or knife grab ahold better.

I think they are much less likely to slip out of your pocket when you sit, kneel, crouch, or lay down. I like the double pockets in the rear as well. The older single zip pocket was ok, but it’s nice to have two rear pockets like regular jeans.

Overall I wear these pants all the time, both when I’m doing work as well as for casual wear. I wore a pair while building fence last summer and they held up great to kneeling in dirt and gravel as well as general wear.

I also do work with training working dogs and these pants hold up great to the wear of being in that training environment, like bitework, setting tracks, and just general abrasion from dog claws etc.

I’ve noticed these pants are particularly resistant to the fabric picking. I’ve walked through plenty of blackberry brush and other heavy brush without any noticable damage to the fabric. The T2 pants also feel fairly wind resistant in colder temperatures.

I can put a pair of long johns under them and they are very warm down into the low 20s. My only criticism is that they can stain if you’re not careful. I got food grease on a pair of them and even “Spray and Wash” stain remover really hasn’t completely got one larger stain out.

All the other light fabric stains I’ve had in these paints came right out in the wash. Overall, I’d definitely recommend these pants for comfort and durability, plus I think they look really nice too.

Took these on a trip around the Colorado four pass loop. As is typical, we got caught in an afternoon storm at 10,000 feet and suited up. Pants kept us dry from the rain and wete sufficiently breathable for 2 hours of rainy hiking.

They are definitely pants to put on BEFORE it rains because the ankle zips don’t accommodate footwear too well. But I knew that going in. Zippers are fail points for waters so we elected to minimize the water ingress points.

Tl;dr kept us dry. Breathed well for intense, medium duration active wear.

The pants fit great, looks great and are waterproof for the most part with one critical fail point. The pocket zipper does not hold water out and channels it down the outside of the leg and onto pants below.

Everywhere else held up great but unless your top rain coat/shell covers your pants pockets then water will enter at this point. For reference I was out in continuous but not heavy rain for 20 mins and was wet on both outside legs down to the knees on pants under the minimalist pants as water leaked in.

Not just minimalist rain pants despite what the name implies. Ankle zips and waist zipper are good for easy on/off while camping and hiking compared to struggling with elastic. Zippered pockets keep stashed items secure.

True to size.

The size was spot on thanks to customer service advice; ( when in question ask them). Easy on over the boots and BDUs with the zipper leg opening; the ankle adjustment keeps pants bottoms in place. The price was just right bought two pair and it was long over due to replace old pair; don’t pass up the good pricing.

Pants were a little stiff but will rear in after a few uses. A practical item to keep in one’s kit and one in the in the transportation. Will getting another pair when budget permits to place in the travel gear.

Really great product. Good fit. Sized right. Works great for my outer layer of my ice fishing gear really love them and beats wearing the ice fishing bibs everyone else seems to make and wear. I do not like bibs pants are the way to go for me and these work great and keep me dry and warm on the ice when worn as an outter layer.

if you work hard for a living these will dissappoint. I’ve had for three wash cycles, washing once weekly with three other pair in cold water and no heat in dryer. stitching already coming undone at some pockets.

second time wearing them I heard something tear but can’t find where. Im pretty sure in crotch area. and it’s really too bad because I like these britches, get a lot of compliments, they are good looking pants.

but I can’t be going around with blowouts in my pants. if I looked good naked it may be okay, but I don’t anymore so I can’t. I expected at least a years worth of wear but I don’t see it happening. unless maybe I had about 40 pair.

best pants I’ve ever worn. the attention to detail with pockets, the waistband that won’t let a tucked in shirt crawl up. the belt loops. there’s so much quality I continue to be amazed. I’m currently wearing them in the rain.

I’m amazed by the water resistance. I’m amazed they breathe in heat yet keep me warm in the cold. I’m amazed. they’re also the only pants I’ve had coworkers ask me about.

These are well made and durable pants with a thick material. The are heavier than the Cat “Trademark” version. The work pockets are permanently attached and dedignec to stow away in the front pockets.

These might be a bit too thick for summer use. In that case, go with the Trademark version of these pants. Love them both though.

I’m satisfied with the product. It does it’s job perfectly and it feels like a quality item. Thick enough to make it strong but not too thick take make it heavy and not breathable. Good stuff. Good deal at 40$.

I got these to replace a pair of the same that I’ve had for about 10 years so the review is based on my experience with them. I use these over trousers as part of my wet gear for motorcycling and they are excellent better than purpose made bike gear at 10 times the price.

I have never got wet through to the crotch like you do with a lot of other bike gear in fact they don’t leak at all, also on very cold weather they protect you from that to a degree as well and if riding on wet dirty roads they keep my gear clean.

The fact that there is kind of integrated lining they are easy to pull on over boots and don’t cling to the leathers or to my fabric motorcycle gear. The reason I’ve got this new pair is because the outer coating which I think is rubber is starting to perish and crack but that’s no shame as they have served my purpose very well 5 stars.

Holds up very well. Its light, yet rugged. I would suggest if you are going to use this over long pants/ slacks to get one size bigger. Im an xl and the xl size does fit over my work short uniforms but, in my opinion for longer pants the fight may be in getting the total length of your pants all the way down if you are in a hurry.

Either way its a great product and stores easily in my backpack.

I have had these trousers before when I used to cycle a lot and they were good them. I purchased them this time for when I’m walking the dogs. They are brilliant keep my clothes clean and keeps me warm.

I already owned these pants and loved it so much I bought one on sale for my sister who is still carrying ‘heavy stuff’ for hiking and backpacking and needed an assist lightening her load. I shaved a pound off of my base pack weight by carrying the Helium jacket and rain pants vs.

my heavier options. Since I carry rain gear as safety gear o on all of my hiking and backpacking trips this reduced that ‘dead weight’ while providing gore-tex protection. (11. 4 oz for jacket and pants together).

These also function as wind pants and upper/lower extra layers. Note: if you purchase both I recommend getting one of the lovely new colors for the jacket instead of grey. My own set is grey upper/lower and a hiking buddy did compare me to the ‘Michelin Man’ when we were on top of a windy mountain with the wind whipping and puffing out my grey jacket/pants.

I did rip the bottom of the pants with Crampons on a crazy cold winter hike when I pulled them out to use as summit wind pants as we went above treeline. I repaired them and used them happily for a couple years after that.

I usually bring my heavier rain pants in these conditions but forgot that trip. (Note these are fine with Microspikes, it is just the longer spiked crampons that were a problem). The new ones I just bought seem to be a sturdier ‘ripstop’ fabric.

These have performed well for me in rain. If the forecast is for heavy rain I have heavy full-zip pants that I would bring instead but for 90% of my hikes these are the ones I bring. Perfect way to carry ‘safety’ gear and minimize weight.

Firstly, I live in one of the rainiest places in North America, work outside, am in SAR, and spend much of my free time outdoors. So good rain pants are key. These are to replace my trusty Woods pair I’d had forever.

First time with OR pants. Not sure what everyone was complaining about for fit? I’m 5’7″, 140lbs, and 29″ waist, and a medium fit perfectly. They’re fitted but with space still to layer underneath or to tuck your boots inside of in heavy downpours.

I think maybe everyone was expecting joggers or skinny pants or something but these fit like every other pair of rain pants I’ve ever had? Haven’t used outside yet, but will update once I’ve done that!.

This is the 2nd time I’ve bought these rain pants. I bought them in 2016, in a medium and they fit well and worked. I recently bought a new pair and am not happy at all. Pros: – fabric in theory is good quality Gortex – venting on sides is a nice feature – lightweight emergency layer CONS: – there are no belt loops or other ways to reinforce the fit on the waist – the fit is off, the lower leg and ankle area are huge – lack of front pockets – there is a tiny plastic widget that adjusts an elastic cord to cinch around your hips, its doesn’t stay closed after cinching and therefore the pants don’t stay put around your hips and ride down, leaving you uncomfortable, exposed, and cursing as you try to pull these pants up constantly doing (insert your fun activity here).

After 3 days of testing these, I stopped packing them.

Ordered size S but it’s too small if you want to have it over a hiking pants. It’s also tight on the waist even if it has elastic feature. Thinking of buying the M size, hope it fits better. Delivery is fast and good service.

These are best worn as an outer layer, I wore mine with a pair of thermals underneath for a hike up Ben Nevis. The zips on the sides are great for much needed ventilation!

The pants are quality and all seams are perfect, they fit just like all Haglöfs items. Excellent and very waterproof.

I’ve used these for two seasons of grouse hunting. Comfortable for a full day in the woods. Very durable. But it needs two more pockets. Most of all it needs a left rear pocket so you can carry both a wallet and a cellphone.

It also could use a cargo pocket on one of the legs. A minor annoyance is the zipper on the front slash pockets. They should be better designed so that your hands don’t get scrapped raw.

Phenomenal pants! Hands down the best I’ve ever owned. True to size. I wear a 36×30 in most all pants (6’1″ 215 lbs). Tried 38×31 in case I wanted a light layer. Way to big in waste and tended to have a baggy fit.

36×31 was spot on. If you are moving around in these, you likely won’t want to wear any type of thick layer. With the 36×31 I can still easily wear a light layer underneath, if I want to (really don’t need one for most of what I do).

(Pick up the ToughShell Jacket while you are at it!) Regarding service. GREAT!! Visited Madison, AL store. Had 38s sent to my house from Minnesota. Exchanged those at the Madison store and had the 36s sent to my house.

All this occurred in less than a week. Top notch clothing and employees!!.

Got these because I was tired of getting soaked when walking through the fields bird hunting. I’ve worn them for a few weeks and can’t be happier. Haven’t been wet since. As far as briars go, I think I felt one stick my upper leg today but that has been the only time I’ve notice it.

So I would say they’re as tough as reasonably possible. Zippered front pockets offer enough room for a wallet in one side and iPhone and keys in the other. sometimes have an issue zipping up the pocket one handed, on the move but I don’t think this is a bad feature because, to me, it means the zipper will also stay closed when walking through thick/grabby brush.

Because of the price I view these pants as a long-term investment so I will say I’m very happy with them now but I haven’t had them long enough to now how well they will last.

I shoot documentary films and needed something packable and genuinely waterproof…and priced well enough I didn’t feel bad about them getting ruined. I had tried alternative pants by sports brands at higher prices but they have never been waterproof.

These pants are perfect, flexible and waterproof. They don’t breath as well as some material but that’s the sacrifice for better water resistance. Wearing a layer underneath makes it much better, but I don’t think I’d go without.

Also super packable and simple. Having no liner they dry in minutes by a fire or heater. Great purchase.

The Helly Hansen WorkWear brand has always been reliable and consistent in quality, durability and comfort. My Helly Hansen Voss Waist Rain Pants are fantastic and exactlly what I expected from Helly Hansen.

These pants are designed to comfortably fit overtop of my normal pants. And while the pants are loose fitted, they are equipped with an adjustable waist band to ensure a great fit. I am also happy that the bottom leg openings have two buttons to secure a snug fit around my work boots.

The only drawback that comes to mind is the lack of breathability of the fabric, however, it is also completely waterproof on the other hand. It is a fair trade off in my opinion since I have had disappointing experiences with breathable waterproof fabrics.

Usually, these fabrics are less durable and over extended periods of time while exposed to water let in moisture eventually. The PU coating on these pants seems to work very well at keeping water out and surface-drys extremely fast when left unfolded.

I live in Vancouver and work in the film industry where I spend a significant amount of time shooting outdoors often in the rain. So far, these pants have proven worthy.

“Waterproof “ has an assortment of definitions, I suppose. I just spent 2 hours operating a machine in the rain (sitting) and these pants leaked through within 20 minutes. It is admittedly a severe test, as water was pooling on the seat and I was sitting in water.

If you are looking for truly waterproof look elsewhere.

Having worn these for just a week so far, they’ve been phenomenal. Not sure how they’ll hold up long-term yet, but they did shrug off some sharp edges raking against them. Comfortable, good storage, and they look good too.

For me, these replaced a couple pairs of Duluth Trading Co Firehose Flex pants that served me well, but eventually wore out. My only complaints are that the Whitman doesn’t come in black, and they seemed to run a bit large.

I’m generally a 34W and ended up needing a 32W for a comfortable fit, especially with the stretchy fabric which is great.

After seeing the pictures of these pants I had confidence on purchasing these. After receiving them they material is way different then what I expected. I was hoping they would have more stiffness to them and not feel like I’m wearing athletic workout pants.

The bottoms are like bell bottoms and they run super big. For 120 dollars I was hoping for a tapered leg not 70’s bell bottoms. Pretty disappointed considering I have your boots and they are they actually really great.

First order was a pair of the Whitman, and a pair of the Martin, absolutely love them both! Both have exceeded my expectations so far. Loved them so much that after my first order, I turned around and ordered a pair in all the colors.

Just to add some versatility to my wardrobe, lol. Seriously though, in my opinion, well worth the price. Multiple folks on the job site have already been asking about them. Tempted to ask Brunt for some complimentary “swag” to pass around the job site!!!.

Bought these for trip to the alps. So glad I did! It rained a lot. Spent some time cragging in the rain in the valley bottom and they were so useful. Also up on glacier/rock routes they were fantastic.

No worries of falling over or snow fall getting me wet. Kept me dry and they were nice to wear. Super flexible. I didn’t wear anything besides underwear underneath and they were great. Will actually test them in the uk this winter as I used to hate wearing overteousers and this seems like a great alternative.

Pretty breathable. Did get hot in them when back in cham and it was 30c. But most trousers aren’t pleasant at those temps.

Nice stretchy fabric, Fit’s true to size. Unlike some true soft-shell pants or tights, you do need to be these for your regular pants length. Often, I can get away with slightly shorter outdoor p[ants, since I don’t need them to drape on top of my shoe, like a dress or casual [ant, but these lifted enough when I raised my knee that they became too short.

Not the end of the world, the listed inseam is accurate, I just tried them in case they worked outside that range. I do wish they had venting zips on the thighs. After, you are not taking them off in the middle of the day or a climb!.

We live by the coast and my husband walks the dog in all weathers. Bought him these trousers for practicality and he really rates them. Keeps him warm and dry in most weather. We had some icy windy weather a couple weeks back and he chose to wear some running tights underneath and he said this worked perfectly.

I did toy with buying a warmer pair but let’s face it the UK can often be wet without it being super cold so think I made the right choice. Tab is great quality in general so definitely recommend!.

Pants are good but the front pockets are not deep enough. Prior 2021 version of the pants, the front pockets were at least 3 inches deeper , which made it easy to carry a cell phone without the phone sticking out of the front pocket.

And the left front pocket had a small inner pocket sewn in on the bottom left which was surprisingly useful. Reverting back to prior 2021 design and adding an additional thigh zippered pocket on the left side would make the pants outstanding.

As it is I’d rate them very good for the price. But they could be so much better with hardly any extra sewing effort.

I work outside as a lead man. My shifts are 10 to 12 hour days 5 days a week. I work alot. The pants are cut well they fit perfectly. I don’t like baggy miss fitting clothes. I walk alot and am on and off machinery all day.

I bought one of each color and so far 2 have ripped the crotches out. This happened within the course of 2 months. Yes cheap purchase cost but if they would last longer I’d wear them all the time. Very disappointing.

Started buying these pants last year for my husband who’s really rough on his work pants. These hold up pretty good. Waist is scretchy so they’re comfortable. He liked the old design better where the front pockets are inside instead of stitched on the outside but he still wears the new design.

A lot cheaper than name brand work pants.

Trousers were great – so light and carefully finished in terms of zips etc. Unfortunately the sizing guidance was poor and I ended up ordering a size too large and have had to return it. Also annoying that I had to fork out a further £7 to return them!.

A very good product, used for years, a new pair each year in preparation for lambing. it’s horrible when you are on your knees lambing a ewe to discover that you have a pinprick hole in the knee of your OT’s.

I have worn flexothane work wear for many years and find the trousers easy and comfortable to wear,don’t restrict your movement, and most importantly keep me dry without suffocating my skin! I bought a new pair for this years lambing and veg growing season and will wear them pretty much every until the weather decides to stop raining.

I can thoroughly recommend them to anyone who has the pleasure of working outdoors!.

Bought a pair of these ten years ago, only just starting to leak so I decided another pair was needed. Worn for farming and in use most days in the winter.

Pants did the job for climbing Cotopaxi – kept me dry and warm, protected from the wind. However, the zippers become misaligned easily. Thought this was user error until I experienced the same problem with two other Rab brand jackets I purchased.

Same problem of misaligned/slipping zippers. Just takes extra time to make sure it’s zipped correctly. Time you don’t want to take when it’s -20C!.

Excellent fit. Not many Goretex pro pants (non-salopette) out there with full length side zip, but these have all the features you could want. Great adjustments all round to fit usage with lots of different clothing combinations – and most of all, waterproof in full-on Scottish.

I ordered the women’s size 8 but they are far too big over the waist and hips – more like a size 12 to be honest. Unfortunately, there is no smaller size for me to order as they felt like they’d be really good if sized correctly.

I bought these for my husband. He is a Spring track coach as well as a Fall football coach. He had a pair of your old style ones and wore them for the past twenty-eight years (a testament to their excellent quality).

He absolutely loves his new pants! He’s worn them every day to track practice and tells me every day that they’re the best pants in the wind and rain. He couldn’t be happier that he got them for his birthday!.

I am more than pleased with my purchase of a boathouse gore tex rain suit. The quality is superior to many of the rain suits that I was researching. My last rain suit from Boathouse lasted 21 years and is still in decent condition.

I would rate this a 10 out of 10 and would highly recommend it to others. I was an athletic director so I was aware of boathouse but I don’t know how many in the golfing community are aware. You might want to target your advertising to those who golf in addition to your current clients from team athletics.

LOVE these gortex pants for my COVID exercise routine—walking outdoors in every kind of weather. I’m also a sailor, so I will use these for cool, wet conditions—they are lighter weight then my foulies.

They have nice, deep zip pockets. I ordered a size up so I can layer as needed. Bonus, they are made in the USA. My only negative is that they are too long (and the hem has a zipper/velcro) so I will need to take to a tailor (or get creative) to shorten.

There’s one zippered pocket which of course is better than none, but I usually wear pants with pockets under them anyway, and unzip the side vent things basically where pockets normally would be. They snap at the bottom and you can zip down from the top, which is super nice for ventilation.

So far they’ve kept my legs dry in long walks in heavy rain. Pants like this are always too long. If they were just a little shorter they’d look better. The snaps keep them from dragging on the ground or anything.

I’m 5’9. 5” with a normal shoe on, 160 lbs, lift weights and hike daily but a little extra weight around the middle. The small works for me but it is a little snug when buttoned with a shirt tucked in.

The zips run all the way up from the bottom to the top, stopping shy of where your belt would be, if that makes sense. They don’t unzip 100% along the outside leg. Only almost. These are what I was looking for, I’m pleased.

I’ll wear them with no other pants underneath on warmer rainy days, long Johns and more on others. They are pretty tough heavier material, not ultra light weight, but I didn’t really want something that would shred on a walk through the woods anyway.

I have the predecessor to these made with Goretex. I am only 5’3 so wanted to get a pair with a shirt inseam so decided to try these. I ordered both XS and S short. The XS was too small to fit another layer comfortably underneath, and the S was so much bigger than the XS! Fit more like a medium.

The sizing is so off I am actually questioning if it’s a sewing error (it’s probably not). The waist is way to big in both pairs (and no belt loops to help). There is literally 8 inches of extra space in the waist of the S! By the way, the length was perfect.

I usually am right in the middle of a XS and S in TNF clothes. I weigh 110 pounds. Typically I go with the S because I’d rather have some breathing room, but this is just ridiculous! Too bad, the material seems nice and I really wanted to test out the Futurelight technology while doing some long alpine hikes this winter.

The pants have a high quality feel about them, fitted well and are well made. However the best water protection i could get from them is, as the name suggests, maybe in drizzle. Any water exposure beyond that and I got wet – or even saturated – after a decent downpour.

Water simply passes straight through the fabric with anything other than just the slightest exposure. I purchased them in August for a polar hiking expedition and this was their first outing. Unfortunately, it will be their last.
