My family got the Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent to use when I was young to go camping which we really enjoyed doing as a family most weekends every summer before my parents got a divorce. My father kept some of the camping equipment that was still in good condition at the family home.

So just a few years later, when me and my now husband, boyfriend at the time, had our daughter, we absolutely wanted to show her the simplicity and enjoyment you can have away from electronics. She wanted to help with everything!!! The Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent is fairly easy and quick to set up.

It DEFINITELY helps keep you dry as we learned one night when while my husband was trying to cook over the tripod, it started to pour rain instantly. Without thinking about the rest of the food, we ran into the tent thinking that it should stop pretty quickly.

Instead, within 1 min of us going into the tent to get dry, we hear noises from right outside the tent and a large group of about 30 raccoons came to take EVERY SINGLE ITEM OF FOOD WE BROUGHT!!! They were tag teaming by sending 1 raccoon in to grab a whole large box of donuts and run out.

Then another would come running right up, dig in the grocery bag and grab a whole bag of bagels, next one- cream cheese, next one- chips, then came over to our cooler that was right outside the tent to get our bottles of water etc.

All my husband, daughter and myself could do is stand there and laugh as we watched them out the window of the tent. We laughed all night UNTIL our daughter had to use the restroom and we were still surrounded by atleast 30 sets of raccoon eyes.

Let’s just say we NEVER visited that camp site again. Then a few years later the movers we hired somehow lost that wonderful memory maker of 2 generations just about 😢 But I would absolutely recommend that Coleman Sundown 6- Person Dome Tent to all the beginner campers or all the experienced campers who still love camping the traditional way.

Great tent. I set it up in my backyard, to give it a trial run (and seam seal) before taking it out camping. There are pros and cons. Pros: Carry bag – the tent comes neatly packed in a carry bag, with tent, poles, rain fly, ground stakes, door mat, and instructions.

Setup – Easy. Set up by myself, with rain fly, in under 15 minutes. Didn’t have to look at the directions. Only suggestion would be to put the word “front” somewhere on the rain fly to indicate which way it goes.

However, a quick glance at the packaging will tell you. Materials – the tent material seems to be of good quality, and should hold up well when taken care of. The zippers are not heavy duty, but i see no issues with them.

The floor is heavy duty tarp material. Screens – the tent has large screen panels on the “ceiling”, which makes for a great view when the rain fly is not on. There is an additional window, and screen on the door for extra viewing and airflow.

Floor Vent – there is a vent near the rear of the tent, which allows for additional airflow. Cord access – there is a small zippered panel in the front corner, that let’s you run an extension cord into the tent.

Other “Pros”: I got the Navy/Grey tent, and the colors are cool. Got some compliments from the neighbors on it. I like that the rain fly comes with the guy lines already attached. The interior gear pockets are fine, good for holding your phone.

Wouldn’t stuff them with anything heavy. There is a little “ring” at the center of the ceiling, to hang a small light. While you could technically fit 2 queen air mattresses, I would not. It leaves no floor space for gear.

I will put in one mattress, and leave the other half of the tent for my kids Pack n’ Play, and gear. It will fit the 3 of us comfortably. However, unless you intend to get cozy, I wouldn’t advise this for 4 adults (but it could be done).

Cons: Stakes – the stakes are just ok. they are the generic skinny steel ones. I would recommend spending an extra $10 bucks and buy some good ones. Footprint – the tent doesn’t come with a footprint, though I imagine this helps keep the cost so low.

Not a big deal, I use a tarp anyways. Door Screen – the upper half of the door can be unzipped to reveal the screen window. I really would have liked if the entire door could be screen, not just the top half.

I also purchased some Coleman Seam Sealer, and sealed all the seams inside the tent, and the rain fly. Some of the seams are taped, but it’s just good practice to spend the time to do this, no matter what brand/cost/etc tent you have.

It saves headache down the road. Overall, I’m very pleased with the tent, and the cost. It will work well for short camping trips with a small family, couple, or individual.

The bag in which the tent and it’s related rods or pins come, is nicely packed inside. Instruction manual is stitched with the bag so it was helpful in windy weather not to worry about it being flown away.

The tent was big enough for a family of three and a dog and had ample space left for keeping something overnight inside that we didn’t want to left it in open. Installation as well as dismantling was really easy.

It comes with small foot mat sort of thing. The flooring is already stitched in it in case someone is worried about keeping extra tarp. Extra tarp is not needed with it. The windows are given that can be opened or closed and few pouches stitched inside to keep your bottle or something in it.

Overall, it was a good experience in camping using this tent.

I’m a first time camper preparing to take my daughter camping with her Girl Scout troop next weekend. Thank goodness I tried putting this tent up at home before arriving at the campground because it contained no stakes! We went to Walmart to get 4 stakes and had a gracious neighbor give four some more, which you do need for the rain fly and welcome mat thing.

Once we had the stakes, it was easy enough to put together and we like it very much. Not sure if the stakes were left out of the package or if they simply aren’t included. If the latter, it would have been nice to know how many are required.

I spent $80 on one of these tents 24 years ago & still use it. When my kids were old enough to camp, I let them use this tent because it was so easy to set up. I just bought each of them their own. This humble tent has survived regular use in all 4 seasons of the Michigan & Wisconsin North woods.

It has not let water in yet despite some impressive rain storms, though I do waterproof it every few years. I think I used seam sealer on it once or twice. Its all stained up from years of leaves, sap, pine needles, occasionally being wet in the bag for a week, but I think of it as patina.

The floor has never torn, nor has the canvas. It even still smells ok inside. For $80.

I acquired this tent in 4/2021 but did didn’t use it until the next month. I had it on two camping trips total in 2021 and just brought it on the third trip for Memorial Day weekend this year. Two parts broke on that trip: one of the metal connectors at the end of the pole, and one of the plastic clips on the tent that hooks onto the poles.

Just my luck, I was just one month out of the 12 month warranty period when it broke. All Coleman offered was a 20% off coupon which I personally would not spend more on a Coleman tent if I’m only going to get 3 uses out of it.

Everyone, Purchased this tent for an extended stay at Yellow Stone this summer. So far the experience is setting up the tent in the yard to understand how it is to set up and to check for any defects that could cause issues.

The set up took about 20 minutes with my son’s help (It takes two to upright the poles). Plenty of room for five cots and clothing with room to manuver. The open roof without rain fly provides pleny of air circulation with windows open on each end.

Have not experienced rain but, do not see problems with the construction of the rain fly and tubbed floor. Over all satisfaction with construction is very good. The hinged door is very nice with the shock cord poles holding it to a consitant profile.

Privacy is not a problem from outside of the tent looking in but the room divider does not block every view. I am satisfied with the purchase and am looking forward to future use. Thanks, Darin Moody.

The tent is a bit heavy, but quality poles aren’t light, and I was able to set it up by myself, although it took a little longer than expected. If I had help, it would have been 10-15 minutes. My only complaints are that the instructions on the bag were for a different tent (I thought I was missing 2 poles until I realized the error), but it wasn’t hard to setup even without the instructions.

The tent did have a couple of small leaks inside but it rained all day, so it could have been worse. I will definitely waterproof the rainfly and seams before I take it out again. If I had to make the decision again, I would still buy it.

Within minutes of receiving this my son and had it on the front lawn and unpackaged. Neither one of us are the type to read instructions, and even still, we had it set up and taking pictures in 15 minutes.

We have perfected it down to ten. It is so easy with the color coded poles, and so strong because they are steel. I was concerned when I used it the first time that I hadn’t sealed the seems. Then we got a little rain, but never a drop inside.

After we got home I realized the seems are already sealed with tape – awesome! I love the light, I love the fan(it seems silly, but it circulates the air to help with condensation), I love the D style door.

I think this is a great tent and would recommend it to anyone.

After many hours of research and watching almost every YouTube video on White Duck tents we chose the 16. 5′ Regatta Bell Tent. We made our purchase in March of 2021 and received our very heavy box rather quickly.

Setup of this tent is very simple and really does only take 15 to 20 minutes. It is very well built with heavy duty canvas, all seams are double stitched and the guy lines have a reflective strip woven into them that makes them shine in the slightest amount of light.

Our first camping trip was on Mother’s Day weekend and went very smoothly with a mild rain storm one night. Our second trip this year was for 4th of July. Temperatures hovered around 100 at our favorite Eastern New Mexico state park and our campsite was on a hill overlooking the lake.

Around 10 p. m. the last night of our 3 night Glamping trip we had a Severe Thunderstorm, heavy, torrential rains and lightning with 45 to 55 mph winds with wind gusts of 75 mph. When the sun rose our tent was still standing and had barely budged.

We were glad we had chosen to replace the lighter weight tent stakes that this tent came with. The 12″ construction re-bar stakes we used had begun to pull free of the very wet ground. The galvanized steel stakes that the tent came with stayed put around the base of the tent.

We had a small amount of water inside the tent due to a cot being up against the wall during the rain and the high winds had blown rain up the roof vents so it dripped down the main pole but not enough to cause us to sleep in the truck.

Almost all other tent campers abandoned camp in the late night hours due to equipment failure. The next morning and through the rest of our time at camp other campers (mostly RVers) came to check out our White Duck Bell tent.

Our only real complaint is that this heavy canvas tent has little air flow and becomes too hot to be in in the middle of the day when the temps start to soar.

10′ Regatta bell tent delivered 3 days ahead of schedule. Tent looked very well made. Upon setup noticed roof panels seemed to have a lot of sagging, not well fit. Considered sending the tent back but left it pitched for the night.

Midwest thunderstorms will make tents leak and the 35mph wind will flatten them. It rained at about an inch per hour for 3 hours and wind speeds of 37mph and didn’t leak a drop. Left the tent setup to dry and those saggy food panels shrunk to fit like a pair of jeans.

Perfect. I am a wildlife photographer so I camp in terrible weather conditions all year round. This tent is a keeper.

There are so many things to compliment -about this tent, and so many things I’d like to share about my experiences with it, and White Duck as a company. Firstly, I need to tell you that this is a heavy tent.

Good quality things are heavy, and tents are no different when it comes to something you can literally live in. I bought a wagon to move the two bags from the car and back. It’s not that much of a hassle, but you’d thank yourself if you had some type of system to wheel it around.

I can definitely carry the bags myself, but it just makes things less cumbersome. I use the cart for my stove and wood runs, so the multi-versatility if a cart makes it a no-brainer. But there are reasons why it’s so heavy, let’s get into that.

The type of canvas used, well, I’ve never seen anything like it. The canvas is strong, thick, yet breathable and light. Blocks the sun out, but still gives a natural lighting during the day. Keeps cool, yet holds heat in during the nights if using a wood burning stove.

Everything looks at least double stitched, you won’t need any type of that sealant seam stuff used in nylon tents. The zippers are YKK, the best on the market. The heavy duty poles are made from an extremely durable steel, no more snapped poles while trying to set up your tent.

The stove jack hole is fire retardant grade vinyl. It’ll melt if you’re careless, but unless you’re trying to destroy your stove in the process, it won’t catch flame. (If using a stove in your tent, purchase a chimney and stove top magnetic thermometer)I timed myself setting this beast of a tent up, from laying the floor down, zipping everything, pitching, staking, and some more staking- about 30 minutes.

I was expecting it to be much more difficult to set up, but everything is pretty self explanatory. You should always set up your tent before going out, just to run through everything. If you have any questions on setting up your tent, White Duck customer support is always there (thanks guys)The inside is more spacious than I could have imagined.

I can fit a queen sized bed wall to pole facing the door, and still have enough room for a cooking station, my wood burning stove, foldable couch chair/chairs, clothes, and much more. I’m blown away by it.

If you’ve ever watched Harry Potter, when they set up those tents during GOF, and Harry walks in amazed to see their tent is the size of a small apartment/loft- That’s how this tent feels. In my short time owning this tent, I’ve gone from sunny deserts to snowy mountains.

Never had a leak and never had an issue with it getting too hot. As I type this right now, I’m laying in my tent in a wind advisory area. 45MPH winds, trees blocking the blunt of it, but no fear this tent can’t handle it.

It’s been like this all day, and as I inspected my guylines, the stitching and seams held up like it was absolutely nothing. Impressed beyond belief. Now for White Duck as a company. This is not a cheap purchase, as you can see, but it’s literally a well made house in a bag.

White Duck truly cares for you as a customer. They are a smaller company, and they don’t cut corners when it comes to material. When I email, or call, they get back to me almost instantly. No call centers, no press “x” for “x option,” a real breathing person tied to this company communicates with you.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to contact Coleman, or Greenworks, or any other outdoor company to have them slouch on giving me prompt information, or even someone to talk to. Not with White Duck, I’ve worked through all of my snags and hurdles with the same two representatives, and they try their best to answer my endless questions, and troubleshootings.

They know me by name at this point, which is extremely comforting that they remember me as a customer. I know I can rely on them for help, and as small businesses diminish, it’s something of a mind blowing experience.

Thank you White Duck. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase, and I know White Duck has my back for anything that may happen with this tent. I’d buy it again and again (though this tent can last a lifetime).

I cannot recommend them enough. By far my favorite purchase in life.

I decided to splurge on the 10 person footprint for the instant cabin tent rather than just use a regular store tarp. I spent all the money on the tent and wanted to protect it as long as possible. Besides, the coupon sale made it much less expensive.

I also wanted a better footprint because two of the sites we’re camping at this summer have worn dirt pads so invariably there will be a lot of friction, possible mud and tiny pebbles across the whole pad.

The footprint is the right size, so I don’t have to worry about tucking or folding another regular tarp, and it feels really thick and strong. I was able to fold it up nicely and it fits 2/3 of a 5 gallon storage tub that I’m going to transport and store it in with pegs and mallot.

We’ve had this tent almost 3 years. For the past 2 years it served as a 2 person cabin at our hunting lease. We’ve gone so far as to put 2 queen size air mattresses, a chest of drawers and a heater in it.

Aside from maintenance it has performed flawlessly, enduring some decent storms, pea sized hail, with ease. Of my few complaints with this tent none of them would be noticed or problematic for a family of weekend warriors.

Two thoughts if Core reads these, add a socket pocket near the back window and offer a rainfly with vestibule or porch feature.

I like this because it is light so easy to lay out instead of using a big tarp. Hoping the material even being light is as good of quality as the tent. My really only complaint is it is not the same footprint as the tent so in order to stake the edges by where the screen meets the cabin you have to fold over or push back the footprint so you don’t poke a hole in it.

Wish they designed this to the tent.

Worked fantastically. Our first night camping had a really bad rain storm, having the footprint down helped a lot when taking the tent down a few days later all the dirt was stuck to it and not the tent.

BUT it also collected some rain that ran down the side of the tent and we could actually feel the larger water puddles under the floor of the tent for the rest of the stay.

Exact fit for my Teton cabin tent. Kept any ground water from getting to the tent. Made the pack up process so much faster. After packing up the tent, I pulled the damp tarp into the sun for a few minutes to dry.

Tarp dried quickly, packed up very easily.

It’s great to have a foot print for the Sierra 16 tent but beware that this is not a canvas foot print as the details state and mine got a hole in it on the first use. It did save the tent floor but I would expect this to be much more durable for the price.

I will patch mine and keep using it but will be looking for an alternative foot print for my nice tent.

I was skeptical of the floor fabric when i set it up in the yard but was leaving for a 4 day trip thx next day, so tried it out. Put three small holes in it the first night. This tent is not for campers with dogs.

I love Big Agnes and my two old copper spur 1 and 2 have had hundreds of nights each with many many dogs in them over the 14 yrs of use, and with only maybe 40-50% of the trips using a footprint. That fabric was far superior to this tents floor.

We are well versed in the gentle use of ultralight tents and dogs don’t come in until everything is set up for the night and they lay in their spots. These holes occurred from one stretching in the morning.

Was afraid tent wouldn’t make it through the first trip. Otherwise it weathered one of the heaviest rain storms I’ve endured over 30+ yrs of backpacking in Montana, this last weekend and stayed nice and dry.

The set up is a little more fickle to get taught being a stake out foot end and actually requires two extra stakes than provided to keep the fly tight off the net at those corners, but when done right, it is quite dry and cozy and super roomy for two folks and two dogs or probably another person squeezed in middle.

It’s pretty long inside with lots of space above head and feet and I’m 6’1. The mesh pockets are plentiful and huge with one essentially working as a great gear loft. Many great things but the wimpy floor fabric won’t do for us and will be going back.

I don’t buy a super light tent and have to put a floor protector and footprint in the pack to not destroy it. That’s not only annoying from a design standpoint but turns a sub 3 lb tent into over 4 right away.

If you have dogs, get the copper spur and you won’t even need a footprint and it’s one lb heavier, like you’ll end up being anyway with the tiger wall and all the things you’ll need to protect it.

At less than 2# this is definitely a UL tent. However, in achieving that objective it also has the typical issues of durability found with UL tents in general. Consequently, care needs to be taken in site selection and handling to reduce wear and tear.

A ground cloth is a must to protect the bottom material. That said, the $60 price for the BA Footprint is ridiculous. There are several much less expensive options that fill the need. The setup is easy and intuitive.

Overall the tent is sound in most weather. Extended high wind and downpours can cause problems if not securely staked out. The 8 stakes supplied are insufficient for extreme conditions, I recommend 4 additional stakes to fully stretch and support the tent during windy and wet conditions.

With a $370 price I find it annoying that you need to pay for additional stakes that are necessary for a sound setup! At 6′-1″ the tent is roomy enough to accommodate my length when laying flat or seated to change clothes.

The full double wall design really aids in minimizing condensation issues. Overall this is a good UL 1 person tent. I use it in the mountains of Colorado and it supplies the required protection I need.

That said it is a 1 person UL tent and has the design restrictions of that objective.

I ordered this tent and set it up in my living room, and immediately returned it and ordered the copper spur. You have to stake out the footbox of this tent in two places, however, the chords that run from the footbox are NOT adjustable at all and are a fixed length, meaning if you don’t get an absolutely perfect stake, you have to re-stake it instead of just adjust.

For me, an extra 4 ounces for the copper spur fully free standing tent was immediately worth it. Also, the material of the tiger wall is incredibly thin. The tiger wall is made of 15D fabric, while the copper spur is a blend of 15d and 20D fabric.

From setting up both tents in my living room, I noticed a difference in durability for sure. I can understand the choices they made with the tiger wall, thinner fabric and non-adjustable cords, in order to save 4oz from the copper spur 1p.

Because who in their right mind would by the semi freestanding tent if the freestanding one was practically the same weight? But I don’t like the sacrifice in terms of durability and adjustments while staking out the footbox.

It’s a well designed tent and if you are super into weight savings and good at staking, I would still recommend this tent. But to me it is not worth the hassle for 4oz.

This tent looks great on the face of it! Roomy and airy. It was a little bit of a pain to put up but none the less it seemed great. After using the tent for two nights near the coast we now know, nothing about this tent is water resistant.

After rain one night the whole inside of the porch was soaking with puddles on the ground sheet. Also it doesnt stand against any wind whatsoever. Even with all the pegs and ropes the sleep area has repeatedly collapsed in on itself so you just wake up suffocating.

Im really disappointed as this was supposed to be the tent we take on our annual NC500 trip and there is no way on gods green earth that this tent would be capable of that. So I now need to buy a whole new tent.

Its a waste of money even as a weekender tent.

Super easy to set up. My 8 year old figured out without using instructions. Very lightweight. Quality zippers. Love the vestibule and full fly. Only wish for improvement would be extra vent window in back as it was very toasty in the tent once the sun hit it, but it cooled down on its own for bedtime, so not a real issue.

Note that is best for 2 person, 3 is manageable like sardines, no idea how 4 could fit in unless 4 feet tall! Best of all, I found this tent on Aosom for $35 less than on Wayfair.

Great price, easy to assemble and set up. Tent pegs a little flimsy but you can purchase/ upgrade these if required. As there was rain overnight the only design flaw we notice was that the rain dropped inside the tent as the main zip is undone, if a small fabric gully/ awning could be incorporated this tent would be perfect.

I’m doing this as a “daily task†on the new app. I don’t have this particular tent, so apologies for wasting your time! I’m reviewing Coleman as a brand. When I was a grad student living in Knoxville, there was a Coleman outlet close by and we bought a ton of camping gear that we used for four years and it was all VERY good.

Tents, sleeping bags, things for cooking, huge coolers, inflatable kayaks, fun accessories- you name it. Everything was high quality and never failed us. Easy to put together and take apart. I definitely recommend this brand for your adventurous.

Purchase this tent brand new in 2014 or 15 Don’t recall exactly. Used it once no problems or issues and loved it. Haven’t camped for a number of years so the 10 has been in its bag in storage. I took it out this year 2021 camping and got rained on.

The claim of any type of integrated rainfly is a bunch of bunk. The tent was instantly wet to the feel on the inside. Later that night it rained heavier and the top collapsed soaking the two of us that were in there.

Ever since that happened the tent will not stay up and collapses. I’ve tried every way I know to ensure the poles are correctly staked in etc and it continues to collapse. This thing is a bunch of junk.

Total use of this tent two times. I wish I were able to get my money back for this thing but I don’t know after 7 or 8 years. Very very very very disappointed. I really wish that there were a rating in the negatives for this thing because that’s what it would get.

A one is not deserved.

This is a good high-quality rainfly and helps keep the tent warmer during cool nights. Even though I rate it 5 stars, it could be improved. The tent and rainfly could be square so the fly would fit in any direction.

The tent and rainfly could have some means, like Velcro straps, to easily organize the tie down cords.

This tent is perfect in every way. It will fit 2 persons, but its a cuddle fit, so understand that when discussing sharing your tent. However, just right for 1 full size adult, with room all along one side for your baggage.

With that said, do understand that this is a decent size tent, and tall. Its not small. Best way to describe, 2 people fit, but where do you put luggage. Note: A 4 person version of this exact same tent is available also, and it only weighs 8 lbs.

, and the cost is not much more, but might be bigger than some are looking for. The tent polls are strong, apprx 7 mm, and although you must assemble by sliding through a sleeve corner to corner on most tents, the sleeves are shorter on this tent, and it therefore goes quickly, with snap on clips on the lower part of the polls, resulting in a sturdy design that you can put up in 30 % less time of many other tents.

Its a great design of durable sleeves, combined with sturdy clips on the lower half of the tent where the load/pressure on the tent structure is less. This design makes it noticeably easier to put together.

SPECIAL NOTE: One person can easily put this tent together, and quickly. By your 5th time, 10 minutes or less, by yourself, really. It also has additional tie downs on all 4 corners, to easily and quickly secure the tent to the ground during high winds.

This means that the 4 corners of the tent are secured at the ground level at the point of where the poles are, by stakes you push into the ground by hand, or tap in with a small hammer. However, by using the 4 additional connections that come with the rope connected, located 1/2 way between top and bottom of tent , near the poles, you now have 8 connections to the ground, making wind a non-issue in most storms.

The tent comes with the stakes you need, but like most tents, you might want to upgrade your stakes. Amazon has a wide assortment to choose from, and remember, you dont have to, but you might want too.

Overall, a decent tent that is roomy and easy to assemble. Its not going to last if you are a very frequent camper that heads into some heavy duty terrain, but if you camp a few weekends during the summer or want something for the kids to use in the backyard, this tent will work for you.

Actually, this tent is excellent for backyard camping. I received the six person tent, and its big enough to hold a couple twin/full air mattresses for three or four kids, a cooler for snacks and drinks, blankets, and pillows.

No worries about inclement weather rolling in as the tent is waterproof. It can get a little stuffy with the windows zipped up, so if you have a couple of battery or charger block operated fans you can hang in the tent, all the better.

The tent poles are strong enough to hang a few lightweight lights from, or you can tuck a couple into the little storage net at the top of the tent. If you do use this for backyard camping, a little opening has thoughtfully been incorporated into one of the corners so you can run a a power strip out to the tent for lights, a fan, small tv, chargers, etc.

The tent isnt made for tall people as the center of the tent is only 56. My husband is a foot taller than this, so he really has to stoop when inside the tent. My head hits the storage net, but I dont need to bend down as much to move around the inside of the tent.

We use a big king air mattress with this tent, and still have plenty of room for a little bedside camping table and two camping chairs for a little sitting/reading area. Setup is straightforward and quick and doesnt take a Ph.

D. or multiple people. One person can easily set up this six person version in well under ten minutes even moving at a very leisurely, meandering pace. Though the bottom is waterproof, we do set this up over a large tarp in order to protect the floor from any tears or punctures.

The rest of the tent is waterproof as well, even in downpours though you dont want to open the main door as t.

This review is for the 10 person tent. This tent is huge, very roomy. The price point is right on and set up is fairly easy. I was torn about how many stars to give this tent. It is far from a 5 star perfect tent but seemed to be a little better than just 3 stars but that is a tough call.

Setup: Set up was fairly easy, not quite 60 seconds easy but way better than tents that you have to assemble poles. It is difficult to set up the poles for a shorter person and the fly is a real pain being vertically challenged Im 57.

Once it is up it feels stable and solid. The instructions kind of lack in information on where to install stakes but it is easy enough to figure out. After set up: Assembly of the room divider is easy but does require that you have the center of the tent staked out instructions lack center stake out information.

The divider is loose on the bottom if you overlook the center stakes. There is a net for storage over the center of the top, it doesnt offer much space but does give a place for the tent storage bag and includes a hook to hang a light from the center.

In use: There is a nice flap on the side to run a cord through for power. It has storage pouches on either side for small items like cell phones. The floor is a little thin but sufficient. I would recommend a tarp below if setting up on rough location, even if its just strong weeds.

The doors zip open and closed easily but does require some fineness. Opening isnt a big problem but trying to close it requires a lot of effort because of how close they put the zipper to the flap. It requires 2 to 3 hands at times to get this zipper closed.

It has 2 separate entrance doors if you use the divider and want a little extra privacy. The floor is raised a little higher than most making it a trip point if you get in a hurry I watched my dog trip at least 3 times as he came in and went out.

The entrance mat is a nice touch however it should have had stake points to keep it from blowing around when it.

Not waterproof or windproof. It sheds water very nicely if it doesn’t sit puddled up on it. Took 2 inch PVC pipe and internal PVC connector and glued it in between, poured a gallon of water in the pipe and it seeped water out not at first.

took about 5 minutes and then drip, drip. not a very fast drip. the kind that hangs to the fabric for about 5 seconds. Similar air test with a cap and gauge did not hold pressure. it did resist pretty good though.

took several seconds to get to zero from 20PSI. So if your project parameter requires breathability, this should do the trick. the PU version is not breathable. Slightly stretchy only slightly more than the PU version (which barely stretches at all).

The PU version held water no problem even after adding another gallon and held up to 48 psi before giving way in a failure due to sharp edge of the PVC causing it to rip. PU version sheets water off slowly while with the DWR, water runs off instantly in droplets.

It would be good for a shade cover that drains well & is only expected to see lite rain. I’d say it’s key feature is that it breaths while shedding water nicely. The only drawback is that it frays and bunches on the cut if your scissors are not sharp sharp.

I’d double side tap markings for hems or seams and cut through the tape or take some type of mitigation step to prevent that like maybe hot iron cut it.

I have made several beach canopies with this fabric and love how it works for this. Lots of people see mine on the beach and want one but I have only made about 12-14 so far mostly for co-workers. They love it! This last order of the purple ripstop was just a tad bit short of the 5 yards that I ordered but I was able to just make it a little shorter than normal.

The tourquoise was ok. I have only had that problem one other time and it was way short so I couldn’t use it but you made it good so thank you. I will likely be ordering much more as so many people want me to make them one of my canopies.

Who knows? It may become a business in my retirement in just a few years.

Very disappointed in the performance of the 8. 7 oz. PU coated fabric I used in the construction of a bivy sack. This fabric is not breathable. During my winter camping trip the heat rising through my sleeping bag condensed on the underside of fabric causing frost to form on my sleeping bag.

I feel breathable fabric would have allowed heat to escape and frost not to form. I reached out to FWD to voice my concern as I need to remake this bivy before future camping trips. Any suggestions on different choice of fabric will be appreciated.

I am not pleased with the purchase. It may very well be the fact that I am not familiar with some of the description terms. Nonetheless, the product I received is not suitable for my purpose in any way.

Therefore I lost the cost of the product and have no use for what I received. i expected it to be something I could use to upholster a seat on a garden vehicle that I am restoring. I am sure it is a good product, but it is quite flimsy and not sturdy enough for m purpose.

I was expecting more of a canvas fabric such as the ripstop used on boat covers.

fabric was good price and nice quality. EXCEPT that it had two flaws. one major about 2 feet of snag, that was toward the end of the bolt that i discovered before using. Another, smaller about 4 inches, and not as bad, i didn’t discover until it already sewn.

FWD initially said they were concerned and happy to take care of it (first one), then said since fabric had already been cut warranty was void. Then changed their mind and gave me a refund for 3 yards – the large snag.

I did not ask for refund of the smaller snag given the difficulty of the first. And it was too late to get new fabric and incorporate it in what i was making. I am living with it. though I don’t think that should happen.

I purchased this material to fabricate a Leafy-Outdoor umbrella and I must say, the product is easy to work with. Sewing this material is easy and like parachute material, it can be stretched taunt and still remain strong and semi elastic.

I live in Texas, so the biggest test will be UV resistance, fading and/or drying out and start unweaving. (Yes, the inner mesh has a woven polyester within). Give me a shout in 6 months and see how I rate it then.

I bought a 3m rainbow bell tent for my daughters 5th birthday. the service was absolutely fantastic and the tent is amazing. I changed my mind about the colour of the internal mats after I ordered and emailed them – they were lovely, changed the colour and still delivered within 2 or 3 working days.

My daughter loves the tent – it is fantastic quality, great for her to play with her friends in and will be lovely to camp out in when she is a bit older. We fitted 20 5year old’s in it for her birthday tea! I would definitely recommend this company and their products.

It sounds a bit ‘rude’ to say ‘surprisingly good’ as if my expectations were very low (which they weren’t). But I expected something decent, usable, but most definitely not great, because honestly ice-fishing shelters can be very expensive and this one was not.

So I expected it to be oxford cloth, a bit light weight, I expected the frame to have fibreglass ribs, but to have breakable plastic joints, etc. Just corners cut, costs cut. But no, it really surprised me, pleasantly.

It’s some sort of oxford cloth but it’s backed not with some light silicone, but some heavy black pvc, thick, completely waterproof and light proof. You could use this as a dark room if you close all the windows and doors.

The joints where the sprung fibreglass ribs all connect were black, I figured they were indeed plastic and might be the failure point. But on closer inspection I found they were metal. I think they’re black painted cast steel/iron, not aluminium, but they’re not going to crack, let’s put it like that.

The pull out straps attach to fixings that go right through those metal joint sections, so they’re not flimsy, stitched on bits, they aren’t going to fail either. It’s really pretty robust. The windows also are good quality, not flimsy, and they velcro out.

First time pitching was under ten minutes, just me. I figure it can certainly be done more quickly with a bit of practice, or with two people. Now, if you put this up in summer you’re going to sweat like hell, because of the plastic coating on the inside of the fabric, but you can leave both corner doors and all the windows open.

It is, after all, an ice fishing tent, designed to be used in sub freezing conditions (though they seem quite widely used by emergency services as incident rooms). If you want a large ice fishing tent this is a very good value option.

But if you want a ‘pop up’ room that is not flimsy like pop up festival tents, that is very roomy and decently waterproofed, if you want something that you can really ‘black out’ when you’re inside, this is a good option.

It’s a weird thing to consider as a tent, because you will look like a police incident room, but heck, it also looks like a ‘hab’ from a space sci fi, it’s got a sort of coolness about it. You just need to add some ‘biohazard’ and ‘nuclear’ signs and you’ve converted it into a real eye turner.

Okay, I know, that’s a bit weird. What would I improve or add? I think I’ll attach a quality guy lines to all the pull out points, with those on it’s going to be pretty stable. I also think that I will make up velcro edged mosquito nets to go in the windows.

The windows fit in like that you see, so mozzie nets could as well. Not difficult. Sure, you won’t want those in freezing conditions, but if you you want to use it in non freezing times then to have a bit of a breeze and light without getting bugs would be neat.

Seriously, this is good quality, ticks all the boxes. No need to add a photo, there’s plenty on the site.

Used 1 time so far. Have hunting blinds and like the zip up carry bag they have much better than a pull up bag that this comes with. I expect the bag to tear at some point, much easier to zip up a bag than pull the full tent into a tight bag when it is cold and wet out.

Set up is easy especially if you have done pop up blinds before. Expect the challenge to start when you have to pull it into the bag.

Great ice shanty for the price unfortunately due to a lot of bad weather and then a warm front it took my package to get to me and by that time the ice on the lake that I fish started melting LOL. Anyway it is much larger than its two-person counterpart and worth every penny especially the heights.

I have a bad back and bending over to get in and out of the ice shanty was very bothersome. Don’t have that problem with this 1.

Very poorly made. There is no way you could stay in this tent if it was raining. This tent does not match the description. There are no quick release buckles anywhere on this tent as shown in the pictures and you have 2 ties to tie up the window flaps which is very hard to do it is not as pictured.

Do not waste your money on this product.

I really like the compact carry case, For it’s size it is very accommodating for travel, yet spacious in size when erected. I have not used it in the wild as yet for summer is just beginning. But I am sure it will satisfy all my needs for shelter & keep my gear dry in inclement weather under the ample rainfly.

This tent is very durable, warm and steady . You won’t be disappointed! Buy quick spring and summer approaching fast.

In August 2020 I purchased this Mongar 20D Ultralight 2 Person Tent. This was after extensive research on similar ultralight tents and on the build quality of Naturehike products. Nearly as light as the MSR and Black Diamond tents but half their prices; lighter than the First Ascent and K-Way; quality on a par with First-Ascent.

I have used it in the Berg on a number of occasions, and it has met my expectations of holding up to strong winds, cold and heavy rain (20D is better than 15D!). Light enough for carrying solo up 2000m in a day, and roomy enough for two medium-sized hikers.

BTW: as ultralight tents have lower ceilings, best to go for dual doors for easy wet-weather/night access. Vestibules big enough for 75L packs. The Y-pegs are strong. Recommend getting the optional groundsheet, which is light and tough, as it really helps to protect the tent floor; as well as allowing you to pitch the flysheet in the rain, hence keeping the inner tent dry.

I borrowed a friend’s tent over the Easter weekend. My partner and I could comfortably rest in it and use each entrance to pack out backpacks. The new one I just received has a ground sheet and a storage net above in the tent.

We pitched it this weekend at home and really love the quick set up. Will recommend it for anyone wanting a 2-man tent. Can’t wait to use it later in Cederberg. The service was awesome. Got a call from Kobus to confirm my original choice of the Cloud Up2, expressed my reservations and was assured I could think about it for a bit longer.

Made up my mind 2 days later and bought the Mongar.

Bought this for the otter trail and it was exactly what we needed; light but spacious and versatile, quick to put up and take down. With it being so light, the material is obviously quite thin but the build quality seems great and had no issues so far.

Great product and customer service. I would definitely recommend.

The oztent RV is NOT waterproof!! We purchased this tent to travel australia this year thinking we were doing the right thing purchasing a premium tent when instead we should’ve purchased something from Kmart.

Unfortunately for the first 6 weeks of our trip (Melbourne to Rockhampton) it just rained everyday. We dreaded sleeping each night because the corners pooled with water and the middle seam dripped water on us all night making the bedding and mattress wet (which never dried out between campsites).

Oztent very kindly replaced the tent thinking that it mustn’t have been waterproofed at the factory however the same thing occurred with tent number two. Oztent then proceeded to advise us to purchase a fly, a floor mesh mat and a waterproof bag.

Together these cost $500+. I can happily say that after purchasing these extras (particularly the fly) the tent is waterproof. However it is seriously disappointing that the tent is advertised as waterproof although it’s not without at least purchasing the fly.

Keep this in mind when purchasing your oztent!! The fly also adds an extra 7 guy ropes and 2 poles to the setup so the whole ‘30 second’ thing goes out the window. This review is nothing against BCF.

These RV tents are quickest and easiest tents to set up and take down The only thing faster to set would be a throw down tent However a throw down usually involves wrestling match to fold up. Besides you can’t stand up in a tube tent; I like to stand up to put my pants on and not have to slide and snake my way into my pants.

Being a Solo camper I went for the RV3 as it allows you to store food and excess gear inside the tent couples might want to consider the RV4 or RV5. Remember when selecting the tent size for needs that all manufactures basically state how many people you can inside during an emergency so remember to go for a size that caters to at least one person more than you intend to camp inside.

Back to the RV3 the biggest draw back to this tent is it’s packed up length. You will probably going to need a roof rack which is an added cost to the tent which isn’t the cheapest. In my case I picked up a cheap roof rack tray by Rough Country from Auto Barn for $250.

I took my New Tent for test down to the hills behind Tamworth. Due to roadworks I arrived just on dusk. So I was incredibly thankful the speed I could put this tent up. Had I had my old dome tent I would have had to try and sleep in the car.

there is no fighting to threat poles through the sides or fighting to get and keep tent poles into their base plates. the longest part of setting up camp was inflating the double high air mattress. Just after dark it belted down with rain for most of the night and the next morning.

Which didn’t bother me as I was snug as bug in my own portable log cabin well that’s what this tent felt like to me. The only disappointment was that I noticed one of the struts inside the tent was slightly bent, whether it was like this or I have bent it from tiring it down too hard I don’t know but it hasn’t effected how study this tent is in rough weather.

My only regret is that I didn’t take the plunge years ago and get one of these tents sooner. Unless you’re back packing or a family with small kids I wouldn’t waste my time with swags or throw downs or dome tents.

I’ve wasted thousands on different tents over the years. Bite the bullet save the pennies and get it right the first time. You get a sturdy long lasting tent that will last you years That is hassle free to set up and take down.

Love the tent, if you’re interested in purchasing one I highly recommend getting the fly, especially if you plan on winter camping. Tent material and quality is high, and a great touring tent. If you plan on doing multiple weekends away have a good think as it’s Harvey and takes up a lot of room.

You may even need riif racks if you don’t have a tube/Ute as it’s quiet long. I’ve used this in hot sand, summer spring and in pouring rain. If you setup the tent right this this will keep you dry. Only downer is the bag, after the 10th use the bags straps snapped, for the coin OzTrail should offer a better bag.

All in all highly recommend.
