20 Best Water Shoes For Toddlers (2023 Updated)

I was so excited to get these shoes for my little one. I got the pink color and they were so pretty. I have a 2 year old and she is currently a size 6 in all of her shoes and sandals and naturally I got.

a size 6 in these as well. That was a big mistake. They were absolutely huge. She has a huge gap in her little shoes. Going to have to return for either one or two smaller sizes.

I bought these for my 2-year old for our week-long beach vacation. She wore them pretty much every day of our vacation, either to the beach or the pool. They have held up well but you can tell they’ve been to the beach.

It’s very hard to get sand out completely but I imagine that would be the case for any water shoe. Fit is true to size. My daughter wears a size 5 and these fit well. They are a little tough to get on her feet but it’s difficult getting most shoes on any toddler.

I have heard that many water shoes cause blisters after wear but we have had no issues. However, we did “wear them in” first by walking around the house in socks before taking them out to the water.

I was looking for water shoes with flexible soles for my 2. 5 year old. We had these shoes last year, and I couldn’t find anything better so we went with these again. They are very functional. My daughter can walk with ease over the large and small rocks at the lake.

The down sides: they are not the easiest shoes to get on (I think a strap on the top of the foot would allow easier on-off), the soles wear out over the course of the summer if they are worn on rough surfaces (rocks, concrete), and they do get stained over time (you can’t just rinse them off after your kid walks through a mud puddle and expect them to be good as new).

I bought these shoes for both my daughters (2. 5 year old & 5 year old) and was so excited about them! I love that they can be used for regular summer play and water activities. They both wore them around the house and said they were comfortable; but after wearing them ONE time outside, both pairs began to fall apart.

Stitching came out on both pairs, and on one pair the elastic loops across the front actually broke. If Lands End addresses issues with materials and execution, these could be great summer sandals! They’re adorable and comfortable; but the issues need fixed.

Bought these a month ago and they are comfy. Can even wear these as a sandal. We finally put these to the test yesterday when we went tubing! These were great for walking over the river rocks but later on when my daughter decided to go swimming, when it was deep enough, I was a little worried I might have to retrieve them from the bottom of the river because she said they were coming off.

The Velcro didn’t hold when in deeper water.

Purchased 2 pairs of these shoes for my twin boys in early summer. The straps of both pairs have broken after about 2 months; we’ll need to find another set of water shoes to last through the rest of summer.

Did not meet the usual high quality of Lands End swim wear.

I requested these sandals for my son and he is so comfortable in it that he loves to wear them everywhere the The velcro straps at the ankle and forefoot allow for adjusting the fit to suit your needs.

My son is notoriously picky when it comes to footwear; we have had more than one shopping trip where he’ll try on every model in the store and said that they all “just don’t feel right. ” So I was extremely pleased when he tried on these sport sandals and declared them to be very comfortable.

The material on the straps is synthetic, and they should be highly water-resistant; while these aren’t designed for water sports, I wouldn’t worry at all about them getting wet in puddles or the like.

The best part, however, is the insole. The specs describe it as a “Techlite midsole for comfort and lightweight performance. ” I’m not entirely sure what that means, but what it feels like is a slightly more supportive version of memory foam that squishes down when you step into it in a highly pleasing manner.

They’re really comfortable to walk in. We’ve had great luck with Columbia brands in the past, and I would predict these sandals to show the same reliability and durability.

These sandals are excellent. I like that they cover the toe area and the back strap doesn’t cause blisters on my kid’s sensitive feet. She and I like them so much we have them in four sizes for when she outgrows her current Pair.

They are nearly always out of stock in her current size and desired color so we stock up when they are on sale.

I didn’t see much of a difference in the construction, quality and workmanship of these sandals as compared to other brands. THEY DO RUN VERY SMALL THOUGH! Since this site charges for return shipping, I would recommend you try them on in a physical store first if possible.

Our girls wear size 5 in toddlers and 13 in girls with some room to probably make it through the winter (ordered in May). I ordered both of them a pair because my wife eats the whole “matching shoes for the girls” thing up even though I know the older girl hates it.

I had to return them both and buy two new pairs while awaiting the confirmed return on these two pairs. I went up to a size 6 in toddlers and 1 in big girls?They fit snug and nice/ Little “room to grow” though.

I have never liked buying shoes too big for kids to grow into but I realize a lot of people do. Order 1 to 1. 5 sizes bigger than you need.

These are pretty and sturdy swim shoes. I wear a size 11 shoe and the 10 fit me perfect. I bought the 10 for my daughter who wears a 9 1/2 shoe and they were big. So I kept the 10 and ordered her a 9.

Very happy with them. Plus they shipped in a timely manner.

Horrible. Runs small. Too hard to get on, child struggles getting food in because there is no stretch and the entrance is so small. Ripped in back from stuggle. Uncomfortable once on. Avoid these.

I have learned my lesson now, but maybe i am missing something! we love these water shoes and used them as regular sandals too, and we just got our new pairs of jelly sandals that my girls are obsessed with, but they have the same feature that is the one drawback.

the top front of the sandals around the ankle, at the front there is a little tab that the velcro strap is threaded through, and despite trying different sizes and trying to bend the flap back away from the ankle, it of course is meant to lay flat towards the ankle.

This inevitably leads to the tab digging into their ankle after a while (and they have pretty thin ankles!). It doesn’t initially bother them but when walking or running around for a while they start getting uncomfortable.

otherwise they would be perfect!! i am just going to be aware now that this particular style isnt the best fit for my kids.

I got these in a different pattern (blue with sharks) but the style is the same. It has a weird design at the toes that barely covers them so the pinkies are always falling out. They’re also not washing machine friendly.

I washed them ONCE with all free and clear and tumble dried them on low they got soo faded. They look like they sat out in the sun for a week straight. Besides that they’re pretty flexible, but not worth the money if you want even wash them once without ruining them.

The Nautica brand found at Discount clothing stores has far superior water shoes. Still look like new after washing and they cover the toes better.

I purchased these water shoes for my daughter because we have a pool, she takes swim lessons and we live in the water during the summer months. I was so disappointed. The rubber sole stated falling apart after one use.

After wearing a few times there are big chunks of the rubber missing. They look like they were chewed on by a dog. The quality is very, very poor and I would not recommend.

I bought these for pool shoes. We got the multi-colored ones, and they are so bright and vivid! They look so cute with her swimsuits, and she loves wearing them in and out of the pool. She was in the pool for a couple of hours a day recently while on vacation.

The shoes still look like new!.

Second time buying these. In 2021 my 1 year old was wearing a 6c and had wide feet so these were a little tight but now he’s two1/2 wearing a 7c in other shoes but I bought a 8c and they fit great and aren’t too tight.

Not slippery. Stay on well even though they’re a tinyyy bit big -but not that bad bc he doesn’t trip over them or slide out of them!. I highly recommend.

We love these so much for our toddler. We purchased last summer and purchased again this summer in a bigger size. Perfect for swimming and water play. Easy to put on and take off. as per usual with Nike, we sized up one size.

Ordered my daughter’s size in two different colors. She is size 8, but I have to return and order size 9 instead. Size 8 fits, but it’s tight, no room for movement. Be aware the sole in orange color is softer than the black one.

I bought this same shoe (different design) last year for my daughter and liked them so much I bought a bigger size for this summer. These are so cute and provide just the right amount of stability for little feet.

These are very well constructed at this price point. They offer good tread for water or dry land. The best part is they dried overnight after a day of water play.

I bought these for my grandson age 2 in between sizes5-6. Bought the 6…perfect! You can tighten these with the velcro so no slipping off. They dry quickly. Soft, comfortable, so good I bought a pair for my 1 year old granddaughter in a different color! Great purchase and great price!.

I have the tie dye and the lemon ones for my daughter, and they are great! Awesome value for sure. They’ve held up well so far, and she wears them a lot. and is not easy on her shoes! They have gotten a bit worn on the toes, but that’s to be expected.

They also didn’t really give her blisters like a lot of shoes that are this material can, but to be fair, she wore them with socks for the first few times (don’t knock her style!), so that may have softened them up enough to be gentler when she started wearing them with bare feet.

What I will say is not so great is that they smell HORRIBLE when they first arrived! Lord. I left them outside for a couple days and that helped, and after a few times wearing them, they don’t smell at all, but be warned! It may not be as bad if you buy them in the store, but man it was bad.

They do run a tad big, but not too bad.

These are my absolute favorite summer shoes for my toddler! They fit his feet great! But I am beyond bummed that they got rid of the light grey color. I bought multiple pairs of that color. None of the new colors are really our style or match his clothes.

We buy these every year. This year I bought the Olive Green and the Teal Dinosaurs. The Olive Green runs true to the size chart (if not slightly big), but the Teal Dino’s literally run a full size too big.

I don’t know about the other colors. I also feel like it’s worth mentioning I feel like the ankle hole is a teeny bit bigger than last year, which I don’t like, but oh well.

I got these for kayaking and our various adventures while camping. They are comfortable, and more fashionable than other options I’ve seen. the ‘maryjane’ strap is a nice touch, and I love the hot pink color.

They do run LARGE; I am typically a size 9. 5/10, and a 9 ft with a bit of wiggle room. If oyu are between sizes, definitely size down.

I recently bought these after a whitewater rafting trip. I realized that I didn’t have the right shoes for boating, beach, riverwalk environments. Although too late for that excursion, they were perfect for the next! They feel almost like slippers, are non-slip, cover my toes and the bottom of my feet from rough surfaces, and dry so quickly! I bought my 1st pair of these water shoes about 3 years ago for use in our community pool. I just threw them away they were starting to deteriorate so I ordered several more pairs. I think last 3 years is good for a water shoe.

Order a size smaller than your normal shoe size if you do not want them to be loose.

I bought my shoe size and it was a little big-length and width, but is okay with socks. I bought the next size smaller and it is great without socks. I like these as they are breathable and I can slip on a pair to go outside to get the mail or can wear them to the store.

They are like slip on tennis shoes.

Wasn’t sure if they were true to size so bought a size larger. They probably would have fit fine with normal size. Seem to be durable and the soles have some “beef” to them. I alternate three different water shoes in a week so none of them wear out too soon.

These sandals are super cute, fit my kid perfectly. However, it is junk. It fell apart in less than two weeks from receiving it in the mail. It is not worth it. Save your money and get something with more quality.

My 7 year old wore these ONE TIME. The straps completely separated from the footbed and the shoe is now unwearable. Went into the garbage. Total waste of money. Do not recommend.

I purchased these in April for summer shoes for my girls. I like them to have sandles but I want their toes protected. I gave them to them the second week of May and these shoes are already falling apart, and its the 7th day of June.

I am very disappointed with these shoes as I will now have to spend more money to replace them.

I love this style of shoe for toddlers in the summer. There’s no need for socks. It dries fairly quickly. The Velcro strap holds the shoe on. So far the Velcro has held on very well. The grey shoe is cute enough to style with general play or dress up.

The bottoms have a good grip also. All-in-all I’m very happy with these shoes and would recommend them!.

These shoes are so cute that they will go with almost anything. They can be used to go to the pull or even just to go to the store maybe even the park. They are very very soft to the touch, feels like great memory foam.

They are very easy for any 3 year old to put on themselves!! I will be buying more of these! The only thing is they do run a little small from what I see so I would maybe size up 1.

Got these in navy for my 4 year old so he can go between the splashpad and playground equipment and not have to worry about wet shoes. He’s never really had an opinion on foot wear before, but he can put these on/take them off all by himself and he loves it.

They’re the only shoes he wants to wear, and he’s never complained about them leaving blisters or anything. Unfortunately, they got left in the sun (it gets over 110* where we live) and they warped, the sides are smaller now and they no longer fit.

I came here to try to order another pair but sadly they are out of stock. I’d definitely purchase again if they weren’t. Wish they came in more colors.

These are not correct sizing and are about a size and a half bigger than what they say. I’m very disappointed because my child won’t be able to wear them for a long time. They are cute and hopefully will work well once she can wear them.

I brought these bright, colorful shoes for my 6 year old granddaughter and she loves them. Easy to slip on and comfortable to wear. Perfect addition to her summer wardrobe.
