20 Best Water For Espresso Machine (2023 Updated)

We’ve been using these since buying our barista machine from Harvey Norman about 20months ago and just found out that we haven’t needed to as we have a filter attached to our cold tap, which filters out all the same things.

Apparently it says in the manual that you don’t need to use them if you use filtered or bottled water, but I obviously didn’t read that far! Still need to do the descaling and cleaning of course.

A necessary purchase to keep our Sage coffee machine running efficiently. I’d always rather an appliance did not require ongoing costs – both monetary & in terms of plastic waste, but these filters do appear to do what they say & ensure our machine keeps turning our great coffee.

This is the 4th filter for the Sage Coffee Machine that I bought from John Lewis at a competitive price. I generally keep the filter in the machine for 4 months and it does appear to reduce sediment compared to the older smaller filters used in Sage Coffee Machines.

I have used about 20L/5G of Third Wave Water in my Rancilio Silvia so far. I confess that I have not done any side-by-side comparisons of taste, as it is a hassle to change out the water tank and get a consistent shot.

However, I like the taste of my current shots, and I like knowing that this water is theoretically better for coffee. I have not experienced any issues, and my espresso tastes great. The only downside is one that is not really avoidable: I now spend a lot of time thinking about wasting this comparably expensive water.

Now when I am purging the group head, temperature surfing, or thinking about decalcifying the machine, I am keenly aware that this water is more expensive and should be conserved as much as possible, which I wasn’t worried about with filtered tap water.

The solution was simpler with normal brewing: I have two kettles, one for third wave water and one for filtered tap water used to rinse filters etc. I am not aware for a comparable solution for my espresso machine.

I suppose less water is required for espresso, so on a cost per cup basis, it may actually be comparable to brewing. I will probably continue to use third wave water for the time being, but especially if I can find a suitable way to either filter tap water, buy the water outright for cheaper, or make it myself, I will explore those options.

This isn’t really a problem with third wave water specifically, but an issue with more expensive water in espresso machines. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Our very hard tap water has a bit of a taste to it. By using a classic profile pkg of third wave dissolved in distilled water, we achieve accurate taste for various coffees and teas; they become spectacular in flavour, even through subtleties within varieties such as Nespresso, Kureg, Twinings, Ty.

Pho, etc. The packet size quantity for refillable five gallon dispensing keg allows for reorder but once per year for us, something we appreciate. The equipment remains so clean, it’s like the day it was new! We hope to enjoy this now three year relationship with EightOunce Coffee to continue for a very long time.

To be candid, I have no way to evaluate this product. I accept your advice not to use hard water because of mineral deposits in boiler/heating coil or distilled water because of taste and because demineralized water might be too strong a solvent and cause materials problems.

So, I use reverse osmosis water and add back the desired minerals level/composition via Third Wave. My expresso machine is only a year old, so I wouldn’t expect to see any effects yet. I plan to continue to use Third Wave on basis of some combination of logic and faith and hope I never find out whether it works or not.

Here’s the reason for 2 stars. What I ordered was Jura 7520 water filter replacements 2-packs, 3 of them. What I was sent was two 3-packs of a product called “ICEPURE” coffee machine water filters which is most likely a generic knockoff.

Would have been nice if Walmart had actually included any of this information in their description. I had to open the package(which voids the return policy) to see if the product inside the box resembled the actual Jura product.

It did. I went back on line to check the order website again for any information about this being a generic replacement. It was now listed as no longer in stock.

We have an older Jura espresso/coffee machine and it is wonderful we can still find the filters we need. They work great! 1st in Coffee has an excellent website and it’s really quite easy to find these.

Have a Jura super automatic espresso machine with smart filters, and want to pay less for them? Go with Claris, they work great, RFID register to the machine, cost less, and are Swiss made. Why AllFilters? When they supply you with Claris filters, you save.

The filter is working well is doing what is supposed to do. My complaint is these are pricey filters and I have to change once a month with my Jura S8. I hope someone can come up with cheaper aftermarket that has SMART Water technology.

If your Jura machine has Smart water feature and you try other brands and without the Smart feature, your machine will say “no filter installed” and it will instruct you later to decalcify.

These filters seem to do a good job keeping my coffee tasting great. I am also pleased that I do not have to add descaling to my machine’s various required maintenance routines. They are relatively expensive so it would be better if they could just last a little longer.

I love nestle water tastes fresh and never had an issue with it, it is a great price and goes insane often which is great, I find it dosent leave a bad taste after I drink it and I feel hydrated packaging is fresh and simple but nice I would recommend to others forsure and have always.

I like that it comes in different sizes to buy and I have always liked nestles customer service. It is easily accessible in many stores pretty much anywhere you can buy bottled water, I’ve never had an issue with the bottles leaking it anything like that which is fantastic, my kids and husband like this kind too.

I have been buying pure life for years but hate lugging it back to the house. I buy 4 to 5 cases at a time and it’s hard on the back. I thought I’d try ready refresh to see how their delivery program was.

especially with hurricane season ready to start. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful it was to see the water stacked on my screen patio, neatly, exactly what I ordered! No dragging it all the way into my condo from my car.

Yes, I’m one of those people that can tell tap water from bottled water the second it touches my tongue. I think all tap water is gross, and I’ve lived in several different cities that are known for having great water.

I don’t even care for the filtered water from our brand new Samsung fridge. I know that water bottles aren’t great for the environment and yada yada, but those filtered pitchers/tumblers are annoying to clean out all the time and having to remember to replace the filters.

Just let me have this one environmentally un-friendly convenience, ok? Anyways, yes, I’m even a snob when it comes to bottled water! Dasani, I’m looking at you, you taste awful. But just because I’m particular with my water doesn’t mean I want to drop tons of $$$ on Fuji or Smart Water.

Nope, Nestle water bottles are my go-to. I clearly know what I’m talking about!.

I have tried all the generic brands, not worth it. Clearly filters for Jura are the best. Not happy with the price. You can buy cheaper but you get less quality. I test my water for chlorine. These filters get it out.

The cheapos either don’t or very little and don’t last as long. I used to test my water daily, that’s how I know. Now I can relax, these Clearyl filters for Jura work! They work the entire recommended time and sometimes well beyond.

I have peace of mind knowing I have excellent quality water to make my espresso. You’ve heard it said “you get what you pay for” So it is with these filters. Enjoy.

Perfect OEM Jura filter for my Jura C60 machine. Good price and discount for getting 5 at a time. I wish it was cheaper overall but this is the best price available anywhere for genuine filters for my machine.

I would not trust a knock-off filter for a high end machine. There were some on Amazon but I would not want to take a chance and then risk an expensive repair.

Seems to work well. I’m not happy about the use and inevitable waste of the plastic involved. But the alternative is the Jura descaling tablet, which in my past experience didn’t seem to do much good.

The 4/5 star of this filter review also reflects the somewhat high cost of these filters.

In trying to make the perfect cup of coffee (I’m using a pour-over method) I attempted to control as many variables as possible. It seemed that the tap water I was using was probably the reason for off flavors.

I didn’t want to invest in an expensive water filtration system, so these packs were perfect. I learned about them through Joe Bean’s newsletter (premium coffee roaster). My coffee tastes a lot better, and they’re easy and inexpensive to use.

If you want better water for coffee, I highly recommend these because there’s very little investment to be made to see if they work for you, and it’s easy.

If you dont bring me plastic, you bring the wrong size glass bottles every time. In my eyes, you breach your end of the contract. This last shipment didnt even equal the amount of water i pay for. I have never seen the 5 cases of the 12 pack of 750 fl oz.

Why? This last shipment was 4 cases of 8. 45 fl oz. , that isnt even the right ounces let alone the wrong bottle size. And on the same note, i have to call in when i refuse the plastic order to have the order corrected, because for months i have tried to get online and i am locked out.

I talked to countless operators and no one has fixed the issue, yet you charge for me to call you and fix your mistakes? If it wasnt for my loyalty and love for acqua panna, i would have switched companies already.

I order 20-24 5 gallon bottles and 5 cases of acqua panna, every month. why am i not valued? Isnt that a valuable customer? I dont think gyms even buy that much. why cant i have some 750s set aside for me?.

My Wife and I fell in love with this water on a recent trip to Italy. I have tried most of the high end spring waters the world has to offer. Panna is by far the best! It is crisp and clean and refreshing.

it reminds me of drinking from my favorite mountain spring in Vermont. This water tastes like someone stuck the bottle right under the falls and filled them up. it doesn’t get any better than this! Do yourself a favor and get the glass bottles.

I’ve spent well over $200 between buying this unit and paying my plumber to install it under the kitchen sink, only to find out the it makes pure Sparkletts water taste awful. I did go through the sanitation process, which is a real pain (that I wish I had known about before I bought the unit).

I did a blind taste test between 2 glasses of water: one glass was right out of the Sparklett’s bottle and the other was pumped up to a faucet on the countertop. After switching the glasses around like a magician, I then tasted each one with eyes closed, and could tell which one came through the Flojet BW5000 system.

This was a HUGE disappointment and a lesson learned. i noticed in reviews of these type of systems that others mentioned bad taste. I hoped it would not be the case on this unit, as I paid a premium price and did not buy a cheapie knock off as I could have.

So now what do I do with this useless system?? I cant return it as the plumber took the box. It will probably have to go into the trash. Pity.

Have terrible sulfur water and always used water cooler for drinking water and making ice with all those ice trays taking up space. Looked on line to see if any way to get water to fridge and found out about Flo Jet.

Love having water and ice from fridge and no more filling of ice trays. Only downfall I can see so far is water not as cold as cooler water , but that would be from fridge not the Flo Jet. Very happy with product.

I live where the water comes from a cistern and is not usable. I use the system to feet the ice maker. This is my second purchase. The first one lasted 3 years.

Great value! Easy to use. Made well. Convenient removable water tank. Water heats up faster than machines I’ve used in the past. Comes with a 1 cup brew filter and a 2 cup brew filter which is already in the funnel.

These filters fit very snug. Does not come with espresso cups or a jug for the milk. I would recommend buying those items for easier use. The instructions make it easy for anyone to use the machine. They even provide tips on the quality of the espresso grinds.

If you want to grind your own espresso Wirsh makes a great grinder. I found that the espresso turned out best using the 4-5 setting. I love the small profile of the machine. It takes up very little space!.

I’ve been searching for an espresso machine that isn’t overly complicated since I’m no barista, but also want something that delivers decent milk based espresso drinks. This machine is well made and easy to use.

It’s easy to clean so I clean it every time I make a drink (which is like 2-3 times throughout the work day). Cappuccino and lattes taste great. Happy I got this machine, which gives me the espresso I need to start my work day.

I bought this for my wife who misses espresso from when we lived in Europe. As far as espresso machines go it’s cheap. That’s a good thing not a bad thing. It does everything we need. Double espresso, check.

Milk foaming, check. I honestly don’t know what the more expensive machines do for their money. It looks good on the counter and is easy to clean.

I change this filter every few months to keep the water in my bean to cup machine filtered. I think it helps stop the build up of limescale and keeps the machine running smoothly. I also use de-scaler solution once a month.

We love our coffee that we brew at home and dread the machine breaking down so maintenance is important to us.

I ordered the filters for my DeLonghi Eletta coffee machine, which uses DLS C002 filter. This replacement filter states it is compatible with the DLS C002 DeLonghi filter, but it did not work in my machine.

The water was not able to flow through the filter and into the machine, so the machine could not brew a coffee.

Pros: An absolute must if you live in a hard water area. Helps keep the machine from limescale build-up and the coffee tastes great. Cons: Could be less expensive.

I used distilled water for my plants and for my steamers. Works great on plants, added minerals help the plants grow. Wish they had the larger size available. But definitely will keep using.

I love arrowhead water always refreshing. This water taste the best and is a great value for your money. Make more eco friendly water bottles and different sizes for more variety on the selection to purchase.

I mean, it’s water. But some brands do have an odd aftertaste to me. Arrowhead doesn’t. It’s refreshing and we like to get the larger jugs to fill our reusable aluminum water bottles.
