20 Best Water Filters For Lead (2023 Updated)

It does not say ANYWHERE on the filter or the packaging that it filters LEAD, but it says it in the disruption on this website. Sow which to believe? Why does it not say it on the filter packaging? The packaging lists many things that this filter supposedly removes from the water but LEAD is left out.

The main reason for me buying this filter is because it says in the description that it filters out LEAD!!! Whats going on here?.

Our tanks are full of ash from the fires in Feb. These filters work great. No bad taste or odours. Comes out Crystal clear! Probably can’t see in photo but glass on right from tap and glass on left from filter.

Had been using the GE filter for years. Came across this replacement for about 2/3 the price. Installation and flow and water taste are all the same. Lower price caused me to stay with it. I have been using these for about 3 changes now (~1.

5 years) and will continue.

This is a good lower price alternative to the top-of-the-line under sink filters that cost $200. It removes almost as much for about half the cost over a year. We have high chlorine levels in our municipal water supply and the tap water has a bad taste, but with this filter it is drinkable and also is safer for pets.

Some family members still prefer bottled water for drinking, but it is fine for the coffee maker or for cooking. You can remove the old filter cartridge and install the new cartridge with one hand, and if you keep it upright there is little water spill.

It does reduce the flow of water somewhat but this has not been a problem.

Putting one of these under your kitchen sink will give you the best quality of drinking water you could imagine next to combining it with an osmosis filter! I have this hooked in line with my dishwasher to keep it from getting mineral deposits and my fridge to keep the ice maker running clean and clear! The coffee never tasted better! I don’t even need those expensive carbon filters anymore! Easy to install and easy to take out! Just remember to cut the water off or you will have a flood! 😉 (Never forgot yet thankfully!).

This seems to work. I can’t confirm that it filters out lead because my before sample didn’t have lead either, but it seems to filter out copper and chlorine. my before sample had trace amounts of copper and chlorine when tested, the after sample (after going through the filter) had not detected results for copper and chlorine.

I think that’s a good sign. Will be ordering more.

I purchased this under sink filter system at LOWES, but like most things they sell, it is difficult to buy maintenance parts from them, as continuously they change the stuff they sell, this is the second on line filter system I have purchased and when it is time to replace filters, they don’t carry the model or the filters for the systems they sell.

Wish they kept the replacement pars for everything they sell, from appliances to anything in the store, can’t tell you how many things over the years I have the need to repair only to find out they no longer sell the products from X Y Or Z vendors, had issues with windows,tools, you name it.

I have a well water system and the water quality was not that great. After getting it tested I purchased this filter system to improve the water and what a difference it has made. They offer many types of filters so make sure to test your water to ensure you are purchasing the correct ones for your system.

Our water was not very hard but the taste was awful due the sulphur content. During install I did over-tighten the filters which caused the gaskets to break. After contacting ISpring support Brian was able to assist me very promptly and send me new gaskets for the filters.

Their customer support is awesome.

We purchased this filter system last year for use at our cottage ( well water ) after phone conversations with Nick regarding which system would best meet our needs. We couldn’t be happier. Our water is now crystal clear and our sinks, showers and toilet are no longer stained orange.

I installed the filter system 2 weeks ago and it has made an AMAZING difference in our water quality. Our well water was high in iron and manganese with a very unpleasant odour. The water is now crystal clear and odourless a real treat to drink and use.

The installation was relatively easy be sure to follow the instructions on how much thread tape to use on the connections, after putting everything together I had to take it apart to retape one fitting which was annoying but was my fault for not putting enough thread tape on.

Hopefully I will get good life from the filter cartridges.

I replaced the older Watts 4 stage RO System that was in the house I purchased! the 4 Stage system has a collection tank and also has to filter and dump the water twice before it is useable, the tank only held apprx.

2 1/2 gals. very low water pressure because of the 4 filters/ ice maker and Frig. did not receive enough water to make ice cubes or provide drinking water. I reconfigured suppy line and 2 stage System increased pressure and flow rate.

I disregarded the China made hardware in the box (Watts states system is made in USA?) why use foreign parts. I now can fill 16 oz. drink glass in 40 sec.

We installed this water filter system the first week of August. We loved it! Now, we are at the end of September, and the water is tasting like “city” water again. The description originally stated that filters only needed to be replaced every six months.

We are very disappointed, since we are only at the 7 week period. We replaced our other water filter for the same reason. We may be going back to bottled water, as frequent filter replacement is not what we planned on!.

I’m a cancer survivor. (I usually don’t lead with that but it is the reason I use this product) I purchased this filter two years ago and was very very very happy with it. Then six months ago they changed the filter to take out micro plastics and micro pharm.

I thought that was great until I learned they are leaving off any filtration for fluoride and chromium and other chemicals. I was disappointed at first but rolled my eyes and went along with it. It’s been six months.

The water taste good but I think about the fluoride and chromium every time I use the pitcher. I would be willing to purchase and additional pitcher if they would still offer to sell the original filter and double filter my water.

I still trust this company more than I do any other filtration company and they are doing what is best for there customers so I would never switch. I hope they will consider this.

I absolutely love the aquagear filter! I’ve tried other brands of water filters but it’s like they don’t filter properly and the water tastes bad or the filters don’t last long at all for the cost of them.

ordered it on Saturday, arrived the next day, Sunday, I believe amazon, all this talk about how good is our city water, we just need to do what we can. After filtering water, it looks crystal clear, and it even flows out smoother then not filtered water.

Tastes good. I believe my unfiltered water wasn’t bad to begin with. But, I actually brought this for another household, which, I believe, is bad city water. As we speak, my son is trying it out. If he likes it, I need to buy another one for myself.

I say, its good for travel, and have to assume its doing the job, bc other alternative solutions are not better. Bc water filtering is complex, I choose to trust, aquagear filtered water.

I bought this faucet last fall because it was the same style as my regular kitchen faucet. It looks great and works well except for a very slow drip. A drop of water can be seen hanging from it most of the time.

Disappointing, but not worth returning and calling the plumber back. I need another RO tap and not at all certain I will buy this model again, certainly not if I can find another brand that looks similar.

Had to purchase an adapter to make it fit our system. That adaptor was the only part that didn’t leak. Constant drip from the faucet and also around the base. Very cheap and not solid construction. Returned and purchased a Kraus which was twice the price but much better.

Guess you get what you pay for.

I bought this filter as a solution to remove fluoride from my tap water. And I was very disappointed: while the filter seems to do a good job on other added chemicals (e. g. chlorine), my analysis shows that it does NOT remove a iota of fluoride in my water.

Like many communities, we get a kind of fluoride particularly difficult to remove: not a salt like sodium fluoride, but hydrofluorosilicic acid (commonly: HFA) Being aware of the mounting evidence on the harmful effect of fluoride when ingested (scientific evidence is piling up, latest is multiple studies showing it is a neurotoxic, affecting particularly children and brain development.

) I became part of a local group fighting this outdated practice (almost all other advanced countries, including most of Europe and Japan, decided not to fluoridate their water, or to stop doing so. ) That is why I acquired water analysis equipment.

Very disappointed, I’ll have to try other filters and meanwhile will buy reverse osmosis water from stores like Whole Food.

Instructions are easy to follow. I like the additional information about what to expect as you rinse out the filter before the first use. I have total confidence that I’m doing it right. I’m so happy to see Aquagear is always increasing the chemicals that their filter removes.

And I like being on the 6-month replacement schedule so that I don’t have to remember to order it.

This is a great filter for water treatment for drinking. I used this in conjuction with a water filter on the faucet. in other words the tap is filtered twice. The AquaGear filter has never given me any issues in the year and a half that I have used the water filter.

It still filters water at a good pace. I used to used the other brand Brit. but switched to AuqaGear because it filters out Fluoride. I believe the setup I’m using is a decent way to get good tap water out for use.

I love using AquaGear because they help other people who can’t get clean water.

I am very happy with the PUR PLUS water pitcher. It is large, yet slender enough that it does not take up too much space in the refrigerator. It is easy to use-you need to initially soak the filter in water for the new filter.

Then the filter fits inside the container. Water is easily filled at the top. I love the grip handle on the side–I feel this makes it more durable and easier to manage as your grip does not slip. The pitcher lid has a sensor designed to tell you when the filter needs changing which is really helpful.

The top has a flip up hole so you can refill without removing the entire lid (which is an awesome feature). The only problem we have had is when you first fill it up (if you fill too high) it will spill out if not held perfectly still.

I got the 11 cup pitcher in the brand new color smoke. It looks pretty dang sleek hanging out in my fridge. My family had a Brita when I was growing up, but I went with the Pur pitcher because it is certified to reduce 3 Times more.

I love this filter! Finally, great drinking water from the faucet. So easy to install and set up. Worth every penny. 15/10 would buy again.

I would’ve given this a zero star if it is possible. I bought it before 6 months and I was using water bottles and did not need to use it much. It takes so long to filter the water and I did not care because I spend all my day outside and not using it.

before one week I started working from home and not going out. It takes the whole day to filter one glass of water. So, you can not use it as the main source of water. When I called them they suggested some steps to do.

I did then start getting small black things like coal in the water. I called them again, the person who answered my call said the water in NY is so bad and you need to get a new one. I was about to buy a new one, but when I asked if I have the same problem with the new one can I return it within a month? she said not sure because the NY water is bad?!!!!! why do I spend this money to filter good water?!! To make things worse, the person who answered my call when I told her why we buy filter if the water is perfect, she said do you buy it or not we have other calls waiting?!! So, if you live in an area with “bad” water or you are a New Yorker avoid this company and these filters.

It is just a waste of money and time with really bad customer service.

This pitcher is awful. Claims to work a full year before needing replacement. HA! Barely worked 2 months before I had to jump through hoops for a replacement filter. Which is currently horrible. I barely get two glasses of water a day out of this piece of garbage.

I had to go buy water twice. And now I’m going to buy a Brita and throw this junk pitcher in the garbage where it belongs. Quest you are lying to your customers. Oh did I mention the customer service rep actually had the nerve to ask me if my water is well water? HUH?!?? No ma’am it isn’t.

We got Fluoride Countertop Water Filter System as we usually get, and we were happy with it until after 6 months when the water flow significantly reduced. We contacted the customer service and were advised to soak it in the vinegar/water solution.

When I opened the fluoride filter, I noticed it was cracked and severely damaged leaching black filtering components into the water, clogging the system and possibly affecting the water quality. When I contacted customer service again, I was told it was water pressure that cracked the filter.

They offered 20% off the replacement cartridge. The discount would not even cover shipping cost. I was totally disappointment with the customer service as I believe the filter was defective from the beginning and it took some time to expose the issue.

There is no way it could crack the cartridge as someone slammed it with a hammer We have used this filter in the past and referred family and friends who purchased the filter from Crystal Quest. However, we will be switching the companies since Crystal Quest does not stand behind its name and advising our family and friends to do the same.

After installing the permanent head that took a little time, screwing in the filter was a snap. We have the system for about 5 years now and never disappointed about anything. The filter removes all traces of Chlorine; our biggest complaint since we would otherwise need to flavor it over with lemon or other.

Our coffee and cold drink mixes are where they need to be. And Jello has never tasted better. This is a stand-alone filter, nothing after it, and it does the job including lead removal. If like Flint MI, we would likely add a reverse osmosis system; but it does the job for us in a suburb of Buffalo NY.

Arrived quickly. Easy to fit. A warning of some discoloured water to start with would have been useful. Working fine.

It works but the stream of water isl less than half of what is was with the old filter. Takes a long time to get water for use. Don’t know if there is a solution

Well it’s too early for five stars; let’s see how things are going 6 months from now. Also, I have a question. If I fill the top with unfiltered water, it eventually filters down into the bottom as designed.

But the water level of the filtered water is now half way up along the sides of the filter, leaving the filter partially submerged (sometimes overnight). Did you design it work this way? What impact will this have on the effectiveness or life cycle of the filter? I might also mention that I don’t taste a difference between filtered and unfiltered water.

This seems odd, given that your filter is supposed to filter a very large group of contaminants. The overall design of the pitcher is good. But the top is made of a brittle (cheap?) plastic that seems at risk of breaking from normal wear and tear.

And it does not have a tight fit with the pitcher, possibly due to the selection of plastic used.

We have an overwhelming amount of chlorine in our tap water. seemed like even with a brand new long last filter in our brita that it still tasted like chlorine. after some research and watching a redbull turn into water, I HAD to try out these Epic filters.

the packaging was impressive, the pitcher seemed to be built well. after the break in, I did a blind test with the brita. It was the difference between bottled water and the water at the motel 6 pool.

do yourself a favor and pick one up, I’m glad I did. a 5 star might be a little generous, the only downside about this pitcher is if you dont hold the lid while pouring it wants to separate. if you aren’t pouring one handed then its great lol.

I must say that I am somewhat disappointed given that this filter has not been able to remove the hydrogen sulfide in our water as advertised. Since there isn’t a high level of hydrogen sulfide in our water we expected that the filter would do the job.

It seemed to remove 80% of the odor at first, but after two months isn’t removing any of it. Since I won’t be spending $190 every two months to replace the cartridge I will be making other arrangements to filter the water at the well and rely on Big Blue as a secondary whole house filtration system.

Im happy with the Crystal Quest pitcher water filter. The water tastes great with no after taste. The pitcher is slim and fits easily in my refrigerator. In my opinion, its better than the Brita and Zero Water systems.

We purchased the OptimH2O Whole House filter with Descaler. Installed a few months ago and the filter works great. We immediately noticed a difference when showering and no scale on the appliances. Our previous water wasn’t terrible, but we had semi hard water and this solved the problem and gives us peace of mind out of every faucet.

One concern was around water pressure after install, as I read some reviews that it drops. We have a large home, 4 bds 3. 5 bath, 3200 sq ft, and the water pressure holds up. Great product, easy to setup, and performs great.

After spending $3k for the filter, salt-free descaler, and uv-light plus and additional $900 to have it installed by a plumber – this system has never worked. Aquasana sent a new filter – water still will not move through the large optum H20 filter.

The PSI in my home is high enough and my pump works great! But, the aquasana system has been on bypass the entire time it has been installed in my home. My water is brown, I’m $4k down and I have to buy drinking water.

The assistance I received in November was less than helpful and the emails I have sent requesting assistance have gone unanswered. The install instructions don’t have enough detail – what should the PSI be set at? Is it okay to have a variable jet pump or is a different pump required?.

I bought this filter primarily to remove lead from the water. While the filter does this very well (0 lead), the filter stops working after 2 weeks. Aquasana stated that the filter will need to be changed roughly every 6 months.

Mine consistently stops after 2 weeks. I loose all water pressure in the house until I replace it with a new filter. I am not happy with the product, however, should commend the customer service team that’s been very understanding.

These filters are great. Takes chlorine taste out and lead. Had a lead test professionally done and although leaf traces are very very low in my faucets the filtered faucet had zero lead! Made in USA.

The stores switched to China. I’ll be staying right here👍.

I had my water tested. Had it tested through this filter and another without a filter. Water sat undisturbed for 24 hours. Result was a very low amount of lead in the unfiltered water. The FILTERED WATER results were ZERO! That was awesome.
