20 Best Water Cooler For Camping (2023 Updated)

This is perfect. I took it camping for four days and it held a 5 gallon bottle of water and a 7 lb bag of ice perfectly! Having easily accessible drinking water available to fill up water bottles and the dogs’ water bowls without leaking everywhere was great.

Water was icy cold the entire time, but it was fall camping; I’ll likely use about 20 lbs of ice and 3 gallons of water when summer camping in 95 degree plus weather! I REALLY want a second one in another color (preferably Harvest Red) for gatorade (or margaritas), even if it was a lower capacity, say 3 gallons.

Also used this one over the summer in a barn for water at a rehearsal dinner and wedding and never ran out. Absolutely the best water cooler/dispenser out there!.

I decided to invest in one of these for get-togethers or for use on the road. Bought it recently for a family get together to try for the first time. It held plenty punch, poured fast/smooth and stayed cold outside (although it wasn’t very hot outside).

After pouring and releasing the button, you need to leave the cup there a second and catch the last drops. It only did this sometimes. I haven’t tried it on the road yet, but think it will be good for trips for us and the dog to have water on tap.

Easy to clean and the spout can removed / disassembled to clean as well. I wish it came in different colors especially since this product has been out forever. Would buy it again in another color.

Let me start by saying I love Yeti and I have many of their products, but this product is garbage. I live in Colorado do a lot of off the grid camping thought this would be perfect and purchased from my local hardware store.

I took a camping once, and it performed perfectly. Next camping trip was packing to go and noticed a large puddle underneath the cooler. Saw that it was leaking at the spout, luckily I was able to return it for a full refund.

Yeti needs to look into the leaking issue. Just purchased a similar product from etrailer and so far I’m very impressed with it. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come from Yeti.

I love this cooler. It was my go to cooler for fishing, camping and even competition bow shoots where I would have to walk alot of land to shoot my bow qt different sights and it kept our drinks and sandwiches cold also makes a wonderful seat if you need a break.

I filled the cooler up today and secured it in my vehicle. Unfortunately water constantly spilled out of the lid while I was driving.

The insulation factors of the cooler allow it to keep frozen product cold for hours without the use of an electrical refrigerator. The size of the cooler allow it to hold within 2/12 & 3 gallon commercial containers.

I utilize the cooler to hold 2 1/2 and 3 gallon containers of ice cream as well as Italian Ice while at festival events. The cooler keeps the product held within frozen for multiple hours even though the outside temperature often exceeds 100 degrees fahrenheit.

I utilize a 2nd IGLOO 140 quart cooler as a dipping cabinet. These IGLOO coolers are great at keeping product cold until it is time to dispense the contained product to the public.

Quality we were looking for. A five gallon would be too heavy to lug around so the 2 gallon was perfect. Others we looked at had a cheap valve on it and didn’t seem well insulated. We’ve had ice water in this that stayed ice cold for two days.

Was a little concerned whether the lid would stay on but the white carrying handle holds it in place if the lid is put on properly.

I bought them for our family reunion as I was in charge of drinks. So I bought 2 5 gal and 1 2 gal and they worked awesome. Keep everything cold and clean. The heat was terrible that day and the flies were awful!! But these helped so much.

Coleman is our usual go-to brand when purchasing coolers and other camping essentials. I really like how this chiller cooler handle is of one single mold so that the handle does not snap off or break when it’s filled.

The handle placement balances the container when it’s full for easier carry. I also like the on and off knob that is on the spigot, however, I did notice that it is tight when you turn the knob to turn on or off.

The good part of this also is should it start to leak the replacement silicone Faucet Assy can be replaced for under 15. 00.

I was surprised at how durable and sturdy this chiller was! It is large and works great for long outdoor adventures, sports games, or camping. It is enough for a large group or for a smaller family staying outside for awhile.

It keeps the ice water chiller very well. I am so excited to take this on camping and fishing trips this summer as I always try my best to stay hydrated during the heat, but I do love my ice cold water! This is so nice as it keeps my cooler free for food and other drinks.

I really like the Coleman 5 gallon water chiller. It’s dual purpose for me. I like using it for adventures and camping trips in the mountains. It’s great to use to transport water. It’s a great size.

We use it for hand washing, drinking, and for using to extinguish a campfire. It’s pretty solid, super light when empty, feels like it’s good quality that will last for years to come. It is also great to store water in just in case of an emergency I have five gallons ready to go.

I just bought this Igloo 10 Gallon Igloo Orange and White Beverage Jug. I plan to use it for my beer brewing hobby as a mash tun. Right now I am installing a Stainless Steel Spigot to the cooler along with a Stainless Steel False Bottom.

Here is the important point I would like to make: When you remove the original plastic spigot, you will notice the wall thickness right at the spout area is 1/8th inches thick on this cooler. (The wall tapers down to 1/8th inch at the spigot area).

This means the new metal nipple has to be a 1/2 inch CLOSE nipple. (CLOSE nipple means the threads nearly meet in the middle or are threaded across the entire nipple). A non CLOSE nipple will maybe have a non threaded 1/4″ to 3/8th” area in the center of the nipple.

If you can’t crank the nuts and fittings on each side of the nipple down to around 1/8th inch, you won’t be able to secure your new spigot to the cooler and have a water tight connection. Different brand coolers have different wall thicknesses bye the spigot.

This one is around 1/8th inch. So I hope this helps other home brewers out so you can buy the proper nipple for your cooler. I bought all my SS fittings as a kit from: www. bargainfittings. com A kit for a metal vessel will fit this cooler better then their water cooler kit as the nipple provided is not a CLOSE one for their water cooler kit.

Most likely an ice chest conversion would require a nipple larger then a CLOSE one. This cooler will make a great Mash Tun. At 10 gallon capacity, it easily will be able to handle any 5 gallon batch and some not wee heavy 10 gallon batches.

It’s a really great product! One last thing, the cup holder you get with the cooler is rmovable as you won’t need or use it with the cooler used as a mash tun.

Okay so I was looking for a bait bucket. Found a 20 gallon for $90 and a 20 gallon for $99. Walked around sporting good store looking at ice chests. Low and behold lighting struck me. I saw the Igloo 10 gallon water cooler and bought it! Works better that those expensive ice chests converted into bait wells.

I bought this about twenty years ago. I brewed beer in it for a decade. Then it sat in a closet for a decade. Today I took it out, reinstalled the standard push button spigot and filled it with 5 gallons of water.

A little leaking around the spigot, nothing a washer won’t fix, I’m impressed,.

I filled two of these particular 3 gallon Igloo coolers with water and pushed the lid on tight. The word here is tight. The lid is a press fit. I then placed each cooler in a milk crate which is a perfect fit for these 2 gallon coolers.

The crate prevents the cooler from tipping over when transported in a vehicle. I placed the crates with the coolers in my trailer and drove 124 miles to my property. When I arrived I observed that my trailer was wet and half the water from each cooler was gone.

Repeat. Half the water from each cooler was gone. Amazingly, both lids were still on each cooler pressed down tight. I won’t be buying another cooler like this one.

This cooler is probably the most familiar thing from family reunions growing up in the 90s! It always housed “orange drink” from McDonald’s and the red and yellow colors somehow made it seem as if that was it’s only true purpose! The nozzle lasted for literally decades and kept the drink cool all day! I hope Igloo comes out with these in a throwback color! I’d be so happy to buy them.

Igloo is the brand I always look for when it comes to coolers. I have some 10+ years old and still fully functional and in great shape. I do at times wish there was a latch for the boat or random other times but these are big and keeps ice for days! My grandma still has her that I swear she got the day they made them and it’s still used so often.

Want cold water, tea, kool-aid. This is a good way to keep it cold. Every day use or party size. Always have enough for everyone. I love it. Good way to keep everyone hydrated without breaking the bank.

Soooooooooooo. I’ve actually used this quite a lot. I used to be the chair of an activities committee for my college which basically meant that I had to do everything because no one signed up to help me! That’s not totally true.

I had like 4 or 5 really dedicated friends who were amazing and did help out tremendously! But thats besides the point! The point is, we pulled off a lot of amazing events for a lot of amazing and sometimes (very often) ungrateful students and staff (but I also digress) and we had to use these quite often to make and store drinks for the masses! They are extremely helpful and very versatile! They will keep drinks cold for long periods of time, they are easy to fill and mix drinks in, super easy to pour drinks from and transport.

And very easy to clean. Plus they are hefty so if they get knocked around a little they won’t break like other cheaper brands so of course they last for long periods of time. I’m sure they are still around years later being used to this day for events, thats how durable and great they are! I’d definitely recommend them to anyone.

And not just commercially. If you do events like family cookouts or sporting events like tailgating parties or things for your kids sports teams maybe, these would be perfect for them as well. Buy some powered Gatorade and get some bags of ice and some water and you’ve got drinks for everyone! Or use it as a make shift cooler.

Fill it with ice and sodas and then use the easy pour spout to drain the water when your done! Anyway, its a great addition and I recommend it!.

The igloo brand in genera is really great. products are easy to clean and carry around. This particular one is pretty cool for big parties. This tap feature is just perfect and avoids the mess that usually happens with the ones that you cleave to turn to access the drink.

It also maintains the temperature of your drink for a long period. Super recommend.

Ah the old bleacher favorite. Let’s start with the pros, it holds s ton of liquid whether it be water or whatever you mix inside thanks to the large screw lid top. The spout at the bottom makes it easy for all ages to help themselves.

The cons, that spout almost always begins to drip and makes a mess. Also the size and how cold it makes things, makes this puppy heavy, very heavy.

I purchased two of these coolers on sale and during a time of heightened need: while preparing for Hurricane Lane in Hawaii. While I also thought it would be great to have the coolers for future and happier events (like family camping trips or outdoor parties.

or events, like sports and such, for my kids as they grow), the immediate need was for me to have additional water storage in my home (since you need at least a gallon a day per person to consume in case of a major storm that stops your water supply; we in Hawaii were bracing for a possible major hurricane impact and what could then be two weeks or so without water).

I had one of these perched on the kitchen counter and another on a bathroom counter (just for storage), in addition to purchased bottled water and other filled containers of water. Except for filling one cooler a bit to high (not to the brim, but high enough that depressing the lid caused spillage), it was quite easy and mess-free to clean and fill the coolers.

Great quality, kept huge chucks of ice for 3 days and water was still cold on the 4th day. My issues are, 1. It dripped from the spout the whole time, which was annoying, especially in the car (I didnt realise until I got it out after a 90+min drive.

) 2. The attachment on the side is for a cup dispenser and Igloo don’t ship items to Australia, from the US (BCF don’t stock it. ).

This product was described well to be “1/3 of a gallon” but it was my fault for not looking at how many ounces that relates to. It’s 42. 6 oz. which was smaller than what I needed, but that was my fault and not the product or its description.

So, it’s not much bigger than a quart which means not much room for ice.

This product is the right size because I only drink water I bring from my home to work. I get two twenty minute breaks and it holds just enough water, that I don’t have to throw any out. It’s also lightweight and east to carry.

I love this unit!! Hot and Cold water available as well as room temperature with a switch of a button. Safety switch on the hot water button release so a child cannot accidentally burn themselves. You can hook it up to a water line or get the 3 or 5 gallon jug.

The cooler itself is very nice. The water is cool coming out which is a plus. The hot water is very hot. I gave it 3 stars because the water comes out slow. I didn’t realize how slow it was until I saw someone elses, different brand but definitely a better flow than this one.

I felt like hesitant at first but I love this water dispenser.

the jugs are nice but better to be used outside since they leak. Probably because the vent has to be opened to dispense, due to constant use you cant close the vent or it will dispense as a trickle. Also, I think the igloo yellow ones would be better because the spouts are in the middle of the jug instead of at the bottom.

With these, if you use inside you need to set it up on a sturdy box or something to give leverage. Otherwise, you will have leakage on your floor. At least with leverage you can set a towel underneath to catch it.

I would not buy them again. But I will only use them a couple times a year.

I like to take fresh water along for my dog. We’re in Florida so it gets hot under the tropical sun. The big Lab enjoys a drink. I don’t use the spigot; I unscrew the top and he drinks out of the jug.

I bought the two gallon size because the opening is big enough that he can get his head inside the thing to drink. For the price, I think it does the job I want it to just fine. I held off on five stars only because I haven’t had it long enough to know about its durability.

We have used these water coolers for when we had picnics at our house. Always put orange hi-c for the kids…. It was easy for them to use. And it didn’t leak like some of the other coolers we have used.
