20 Best Water Bottle For Running (2023 Updated)

Wife is an avid runner and has found this to be her favorite bottle to carry. Easy to maintain and of course, available in her favorite color “pink”. We will continue to use you for replacements/additional units.

The ifitness bottles that came with the belt leaked. The replacement bottles are a much better design and the same size as the originals. Delivered in a couple of days.

I use the fitletic belt for distance running. The pouch is big enough for my phone! (no more carrying the phone on my arm)

Finally my quest for a lightweight collapsible water bottle that doesn’t taste like plastic has come to a happy end after finding this Camelbak water flask. Apparently I am a water snob and have tried so many different collapsible water containers, but they all consistently have a plastic or silicone taste that will not go away.

I’ve used bottle bright tablets, washed with cold water, hot water, and tried all the tricks I could find, to no avail. No matter what brand I tried, they all had a bad taste. This container does not have any plastic taste, is surprisingly durable given the light weight, and has a locking bite valve so you can throw it in your pack without worrying about it leaking! Great design and functions exactly as I hoped.

Highly recommended and well done Camelbak for apparently doing what no other small collapsible water bladder can!.

I like the outlook and the touch. It’s a convenient water container that I can squeeze that into my pocket without carry another bag.

I have used this water bottle snowboard and hiking and it is so easily transported in a coat pocket or pac and the water taste great to boot.

This is my first soft water bottle for use while I train at distance and I like the general idea, and design. It holds a decent amount of fluid, is easy to hold, the pocket fits a pack of chews or a gel and doesn’t it doesn’t feel too “sloshy”.

That said, it has an incredibly strong taste. Not sure if it’s the cap or bottle, but both prior to wash and after multiple washes the water is practically undrinkable – have tried different sinks, water fountains, even bottled water poured into the bottle.

Gatorade seems to not take in the flavor as much, but I find myself almost second guessing if I want to even take a sip at times.

I’ve purchased a speedflask, exoshot, and now the exodraw from Nathan, and the exodraw is by far my favorite! The speedflask is ok for short distances, but feels a bit heavy after over an hour and starts to make my hand feel numb.

The exoshot is super light, but the smaller capacity makes it good only for short runs. The exodraw is a perfect comprise–still very light like the exoshot, with the larger capacity of the speedflask.

I’ve run marathons with an exodraw on each hand, and barely noticed. The exodraw is also very study; I’ve tripped many times trail running and, despite bracing my fall with my hands more times than I’d like to admit, my exodraws are no worse for wear.

I prefer a vest for longer trail runs, but for shorter distances (or road marathons), the exodraw can’t be beat!.

Nathan is my go to for all running accessories. This soft flask doesn’t really meet my expectations for a handheld running water bottle. I just can’t get comfortable with the grip, I rather prefer my hardside water bottle.

Also, the nozzle is okay, but there is a hard piece to the nozzle which I have hit against my teeth while running – a bit jarring while running to think you may have just chipped a tooth. The pocket is okay, but not overly large enough to stuff a phone and an ultralight jacket (which I’ve done with my other Nathan water bottle – the Nathan SpeedMax Plus Flask).

I stuff keys in the pocket with no issue, it’s just a tight fit all around. All in all, if you’re searching for a handheld running water bottle, I’d go with the SpeedMax Plus Flask over this.

I combined this with the XA Filter cap to use on longer runs. I am very happy with the outcome. I usually cross streams on my runs along the rim of Lake Superior so having a handheld that I could dip into the pools for a refill has changed my behavior.

I can head out on a long run and refill along the way. And a collapsible handheld means I can keep it stashed until needed. Using it in a COVID precaution race with minimal feeds this Spring was great.

It is the best hydration solution I’ve used in 20+ years of trail marathons.

I bought this product over a month ago because I liked the minimalist and collapsable design. However, like many other reviews I have noticed the cover leaks. This appears to be from the open/close twist feature of the cover that doesn’t have any sort of sealing ring inside.

I have looked to purchase a replacement cover that doesn’t have the open/close feature with no luck. I really want to like this product but the leaking design flaw is disappointing.

I recently started doing longer trail runs and decided I’d actually like some water to sip on. I typically run less than 5-6 miles on runs so I never needed to carry water. Now, I’m really enjoying a bit farther with how this fits into your palm and takes no effort to hold.

It kind of just confirms to your palm and is very easy to drink from and you can actually get every last drop out easily.

These bottles are a great and are a convenient size, but the design has a few flaws. The STRAP! The strap, especially for a smaller hand, just will not stay tight enough. I constantly am pulling it tighter to keep it on my hand, yet it almost instantly becomes loose.

Perhaps go back to the drawing board and come up with a different material so that the strap stays put. And the caps – lots of leaking – have to replace them constantly so that the water doesn’t all come out.

And a white cap?!? Awful.

Taken the bottle on a few longer runs and it works great. The extra pouch is perfect size for a few gels or your phone and wallet. The bottle is a good size, and being insulated is a nice bonus. My only suggestion would be to design the holster so other, common size bottles can also fit.

Other products use soft bottles to prevent sloshing, but I didn’t think it was an issue. Will be using this piece of kit pretty often, I expect.

This is my go to handheld. The design of the bottle and case fit my hand naturally. The easy pull tab to adjust the fit is helpful on a long run. It stays in place without having to squeeze it – tiring out my hand.

The pouch holds all my go to’s like gummies, my car key, and extra electrolytes. The zipper pouch is easy to open when running. Hands down if I could only have one thing to run with it would be this!.

I must admit to having been a skeptic of this approach to carrying water. I had seen many endurance runners using this type of bottle but did not think this could be comfortable. So, I bought this bottle with another purpose in mind, but eventually decided to give it a try for running.

I found this bottle to be quite comfortable; to the point that I almost forget that it is there. There is no annoying flapping around like with a belt and accessing the bottle’s content is extremely easy and risk free: the bottle can not fall unless the harness breaks.

The little pocket which can carry keys, cards, and/or nutrition is an added bonus. This has quickly become my go to method for carrying small quantities of water on shorter daily training runs.

I use this for shorter distances. however I don’t like the lid. It’s a bit too big and awkward for me to quickly suck on when running. I do like the storage it comes with. It’s perfect for nutrition, chapstick, and money.

I wouldn’t buy this style lid again just because I think other Nathan hydration products work better.

This water bottle is game changing for distance running. It’s ergonomically and conveniently has a hand strap that allows you to carry water on a long run without worrying about hand cramps or the water bottle slipping out of your hand.

Also includes a convenient zipper pouch for gels, keys, money, etc. I have the larger 18oz option which will hold an iPhone XS Max.

Superbly designed! I use two of these bottles with the Nathan VaporSwift 4L Hydration Vest. They fit perfectly in the front pockets and I can sip from them without removing them from the vest while running.

There is absolutely no sloshing as the bottle shrinks as you drink, no leaking, a proper level of flow when you do drink and when they are fully loaded on the front of the vest they do not bounce as the pocket comes up just over the top edge of bottle leaving the bottle nipple exposed.

I label one for water and one for electrolytes. These help me run safely on the hottest Southern California trails. The lids can be a little tricky to screw on but I see that as a fair trade off for never seeing a leak.

The flask has just the right level of rigidity to feel comfortable without being wobbly. The bite top is quality and enables suction without air being sucked in avoiding the flask to inflate with air as you drink from it.

I use it for fresh juice. It needs a good clean and an odor of the juice remains afterwards but doesn’t small foul. I run in very hot climate and the content did heat up fairly within about half an hour.

But as I am in such a hot climate I am not in the best position to rate the insulation for normal conditions.

I haven’t found a soft flask that can perform as well as Nathan’s do. I took this 18oz flask with me on a relay race that I ran 24. 5 miles for. At mile 6 I caught a root and supermaned down a rough descent.

I put my hands out to catch myself, and one hand had my flask in it. As I rolled out and kept running I was almost positive that it burst from the fall, but to my surprise it stood up to all that force.

It worked fine without any leaks of any kind throughout the rest of the race. Beside these things just being little beasts, they do their job incredibly well also. I like that I can store a flattened out flask with a powder mix in it so easily.

The bite valves are my favorite part. They allow for very precise sips of water without any leaking. Overall I would definitely recommend the Nathan Soft Flask to anyone and everyone.

Great bottles, proper sports bottle which are so hard to find now a days. A solid colour which is perfect as ive Bought for the kids to take they’re juice to school. They don’t leak. They’re a great size.

Will be buying again.

Had this for years. Take it with me everywhere which is great because I never buy plastic bottles and throw them away. It broke so I got another one. It seems like the bottle leaks at first – you might have filled it too much.

When I fill it up I squeeze it really had and shake it over the sink and then the extra water goes and there’s no “leaking”.

I bought this bottle a few weeks ago and I don’t rate it. The water comes out far too slowly and it’s difficult to get enough water out when you are trying to get a quick sip in between exercises during the rest periods in an exercise class.

In the end I had to remove the lid. I have kept it for when my toddler nephew visits as it’s more suited as a child’s drink bottle.

This works great for my son for sports and simply having a water bottle at school. It is lightweight, squirts a nice steady stream when squeezed and does a good job of keeping his water cool. We did a little experiment and put ice only in the water bottle at night before bed.

The ice had all melted by morning (roughly 10 hours later). However, my son says that he then filled it up with cold water from the tap and felt like the water bottle kept it at pretty much the same cool temp the whole school day (9 hours or so).

Note, I would not call it “red” it is lighter than a bold fire engine red. It is a light red with some pinkish undertones. I cannot rate the “taste” of the product as it is a water bottle. no gatorade liquid or powder came with the water bottle.

It also doesn’t give a “performance edge” as it’s not a nutritional supplement and has no “scientifically advantaged formula” – it’s a plastic water bottle.

I read a lot of these reviews and there was several that said they leak however, I got two of them and as long as you put the lids on straight they do not leak what-so-ever! My teenage sons wanted these for water and to use at school for gym class.

I also ordered a Gatorade GX personalized cup with pods off the website but it was 25$. I haven’t got it yet to compare the quality. With that said these seem to be nice bottle especially for the price.

They are 32 oz. so they hold a lot of water or whatever you want in there. There is clear strip on the side that can be used to check how much you have in there or have left. Useful for anyone trying to increase the amount of water they intake daily or those that like to keep track.

So far so good, I’ll update should any problems ever arise. These are also dishwasher safe on the top rack if you use a dishwasher, I prefer hand washing as I think it gets dishes cleaner especially bottles like this.

This is really a nice outdoor sports bottle. I stress outdoors because I did give it a try indoors and it is definitely not an everyday everywhere drinking vessel. It will kick back a drink or two at you which is great if you are using it outdoors while playing sports or other fun non competitive games out of doors.

Indoors it will make a bit of a mess unless one is careful. I was not careful so learn from my mistakes. The insulation is excellent. The materials are high grade and I love the red/white/blue look. But let me stress, outdoor games! Overall I’m thrilled with this 10/10 out of doors 7/10 indoors – it’s messy.

I use this mainly for running. I love it. It keeps the water temperature cold without any chill to my hand like other bottles. The spout is great, it does not leak or drip when left in open position.

I run with it in open position. It holds enough for longer runs. I like the hand strap, holds my pixel 4 phone and ease of carry when running. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to take on jogs, runs, hikes and walks.

I have been using another brand of handheld which does not have the storage. The camelbak is great for adding just a little bit of extra storage. The handle is also very tight and should not come off.

The negatives are the bottles are very slippery especially when trying to remove the top to refill during a race. The other negative is the swivel top takes some getting used to, I marked the no-water with red so I can easily see it.

I bought this flask for when I go running (easy enough to hold, and small enough to shove in a pocket). I also bought the larger one for when I go on walks, which it’s perfect for. It took a while to work out how to use the nozzle, and it needs a good rinse/soak before using as it has a bit of a rubbery smell which also affects the taste of your drink.

Once that was sorted, I’ve found it very useful, it also feels like it’s quite robust.

The idea’s great. It’s compact and you can fold it into your pocket. Unfortunately it’s not fit for purpose due to the fact there is a vile plastic taste the moment you add the water. Tried all sorts of suggestions but none of them worked and in the end I binned it.
