20 Best Water Based Air Purifier (2023 Updated)

Ever since the global pandemic Ive been more concerned with air quality. and have several air purifiers around my home. Ive had one of the Shark 6 fan air purifiers running for about a year and been generally pleased with it, so when I saw this 4 fan version I thought it would be a great choice for a medium sized room that Ive got.

This purifier comes packaged in a relatively plain looking brown cardboard box no fancy retail packaging at all. This is not a bad thing as the packaging is probably greener, but when it comes to gifting things the packaging for this is maybe not as nice as some other choices.

Inside the package you get the purifier, manual, and a remote. Setup is very simple. just take it out of the box, remove the filter it is preinstalled, but has a plastic bag on it, take the plastic bag off of the filter and reinstall it.

and pull a little plastic tab out of the remote to make the batteries in the remote work. Pretty simple. These units have a few options you can cycle through as far as showing air quality i. e. is it 100%, 90%, etc, or how much time itll take to clean the air.

and it has a color coded light that indicates the air quality, so you can easily see from anywhere in the room if the air quality is good or bad. This unit does run all the time on a very low setting, even if the air is 100% clean, because that is how it continues cycling air into the unit to ensure it is clean.

but itll never be 100% silent unless you shut it off. That being said, it is a quiet unit. Probably the biggest surprise with this line of air purifiers is the lack of any smart features, it is not unusual with others on the market to have some sort of app control or smart home integration so you can have routines and other things get triggered based off of the air quality, but it is hard to knock this one for not having it when they dont advertise it as having that.

I got this air purifier for my bedroom because I have bad indoor, outdoor, and seasonal allergies to things like pollen, dust, smoke, etc. most of the year. The spring pollen season has been especially bad where I live this year and this Shark HEPA air purifier has already been a big help since I started using it a week ago.

It’s very easy to set-up and get running right out of the box. My previous air purified was small and quiet and because this one is much larger, I didn’t know what to expect. It has multiple speed settings, so I can run it quietly on low or put it on full blast depending on the air quality in the room.

I especially love the lighted digital dial on the front of the unit that tells me how clean or dirty the air in the room is. I know it works because when I open the windows wide first thing in the morning, all the pollen comes in and the display goes from 100% clean to about 82% clean.

I turn up the speed and can watch the air quality improve. This is a feature I didn’t know I was missing until I tried it. I also enjoy having the remote control so I can turn the filter on, off, or change the speed from across the room.

Although this is a fairly large purifier, it’s tall and slim, so it doesn’t take up too much space. Everything has worked as expected and I noticed the improvement of my aggravating allergy symptoms from day one.

It comes with one air filter. A replacement filter is currently about 79. Its pricey but I feel its worth it to have cleaner air in my home and fewer allergy symptoms. All in all, Im very happy with this product.

Bought this for my father-in-law who has COPD. I tried it out first at my house and it really does an excellent job. It looks and operates like “high-tech” equipment but it was easy to learn to use–I wanted my father-in-law to be able to manipulate the controls with minimal effort, and he can.

The replaceable filter was super easy to install (and consequently will be easy to replace). On the display, it will tell you how many hours’ operation is left before you need to replace the filter. The display also shows the percentage that it senses the air is clean; the purifier can be set to automatically turn on or off depending on the amount of percentage the air is clean (so if the percentage is below 100% it will turn on and run until the percentage goes back up to 100%).

It will also show the amounts of particulates in the air. When we tested in first in my home, we did some cooking and also painted kitchen cabinets (at separate times), then ran this purifier to get rid of the odors; in a nutshell, it absolutely worked.

I also like that it has a remote control, and it is also pretty light–not that it can knocked over easily, but that it can be moved from room to room or place to place easily. My husband was a bit skeptical that these air purifiers really work, but this one was able to convince him.

My father-in-law also reports after about a month of usage, that it does indeed work for him as well.

I’ve had this air filter for over a year now and I have to say it’s been amazing. I didn’t realize how stale and stagnant the air was in my place before using this air purifier. The Coway AP-1512 HH pulls in “dirty” air from its face and pushed out “clean” purified air from the top! It is a bit of a chunky unit, but it is minimal in design and unobtrusive.

I do pop open the front face of the unit every couple of weeks to vacuum the “first” filter. This part of the air purifier catches all of the chunky/larger bits (human hair, dog hair, dust bunnies) before flowing through the other 2 filters.

the filter check/reset button 6. the air quality indicator light Most of these buttons are self-explanatory, this system is so very easy to use! With the speed adjuster button, you can alternate between 5 speed modes to run it on: Auto, 1, 2, 3, and Eco.

Auto changes the filtration speed rate (between levels 1,2,3) depending on the air quality in the room. Level 1 and 2 are pretty quiet, but level 3 sounds like a large fan has just turned on — which makes sense because it is pulling in pushing out a lot of air! To be honest, I’m not quite sure what Eco does because I always have it on Auto! With the filter check/reset button, the air filter will tell you when it is time to change your HEPA filter and/or your carbon filter.

The HEPA filter only needs to be changed once a year, while the carbon filter is recommended to be changed every 6 months. The filters are also very easy to replace. The air quality indicator light has 3 light colors: blue, purple, and red.

Blue meaning good while a red light means bad air quality. There is a small air quality sensor located on the right side of the air filter. I’ve blown air from my mouth into the sensor it automatically changes the air quality indicator from blue to red.

Good to know that my mouth is full of germs 🦠 (as if 2020 didn’t remind us of that ALLL the time). If I could have something to nitpick about this unit, I wish there was an option to dim the indicator light.

It is very bright and distracting during the nighttime and makes it hard to sleep. There was an easy solution for my only complaint — I just stack a small book on top before I go to bed every night. Bonus points for this air purifier looking like a giant iPod touch!!.

I had a previous model and talked my allergy-suffering mother into buying this model. I then bought this model too because I was impressed with it. I’ve had this air purifier for a couple years now and am very happy with it.

I’ve compared it to some other name brands and have found the air flow to noise ratio is superior to every other similarly priced air purifiers. I currently have a different brand in my living room, and this one in my bedroom since it still moves a fair amount of air on the lowest setting (which is silent).

My only gripe is with the cost of the replacement air filters. They say it lasts a year, but unless you already have central air with HEPA filters, this has not been my experience with either Coway air purifiers I’ve owned.

They should really offer heavy discounts and bulk packs on the filters. I would be fine buying in bulk to save money, but I haven’t seen this option. While I am happy with the air purifier, I wish the carbon filter used the pellet method instead of the coated foam method.

The pellet method has been shown to be significantly more effective at removing VOCs and lasts much longer than the foam coated carbon filter. Their new models have this, so depending on the cost of filters, I will likely purchase one of those and pass my other brand onto a friend of family.

I rent a house and my bedroom is right above the garage. The landlord runs his landscaping business from the garage so all his tools are in there. I don’t know what changed but the last few months my bedroom started to strongly smell like gasoline.

The fumes would even start to burn my nose a little. What worried me the most is that my newborn son was sleeping in this bedroom too and I was concerned for his health. After much research we decided to get the Airmega AP-1512HH and we are so happy that we did! That very first night that we used it the air smelled crisp and clean and we have not had any smell of gasoline fumes since then.

And I can sleep calmly at night knowing that my son is breathing clean air.

I have 2 of these in my small bedroom, and 5 more of these throughout my small one-bedroom apartment. These have worked perfectly to help filter out pathogens like viruses, dust, and germs. I breathe a lot better, too.

Because I have so many in my small apartment, I turn off the Plasmawave feature for most, so as not to create too much ozone in my apartment. I typically have these running all the time, with 3 out of 4 on the fan level.

I follow the instructions on how to clean the prefilter and carbon filter. I replace the filters about once every 6 to 9 months, especially after a brutal wildfire season. I have these going at full blast whenever I have any visitors in my apartment, or whenever I’m doing a lot of in-and-out of my apartment for tasks such as getting packages from the mailroom and retrieving door deliveries.

So far, these have kept me virus-free for the past few years. (I must also say that I mask everywhere I go, I allow fresh air inside when others enter my apartment, and I require mask wearing for anyone who enters my apartment, which are layered approaches to helping me reduce viral risk, in addition to using the air purifiers.

I’m disabled, so I spend most of my time home alone, too. But I feel more secure with having these air purifiers aid in keeping my air clean. ) Also, I still have to dust and clean the baseboards, but not as frequently.

The replacement filters are less expensive than some other air purifiers I’ve had in the past. And the design of these blends in with most decorations. To keep them mobile on hard flooring, I’ve purchased 16″ rolling plant stands to place 5 out of my 7 air purifiers on, so that I can easily sweep and mop around them, while keeping them slightly off the ground.

My 2 bedroom purifiers sit directly on the carpeting, one that purifies the bedroom area, and the other that faces the door to my walk-in closet, for added coverage. I would highly recommend these purifiers! I’ve had most of mine for about 2 years now, and they work great!.

Seems like it’s working, mostly. I’ve been using it for several weeks and do not use the ion technology. What’s good: I like that you have to option to NOT use the ion technology. There are some brands that don’t have it at all and some that have it but you can’t turn it off.

The filter types and quality are good on this model, there is a washable carbon filter that extends the life of the filter and the required filter changes happen less often than some other brands and need to.

Some need to be changed every 3 months. Although these filters are a little pricy, they not as expensive as many others, and not changed as often so I opted to go with this Winix. My allergies are better-not 100% but I do leave the window open a bit.

It’s quiet. I can say it’s gotten a bit louder in the last few weeks but still quiet and doesn’t disturb my sleep at all. It detects/goes red if I spray alcohol or lysol even in the next room with the door closed.

The not so good: I’ve used ammonia and bleach near it and it didn’t detect it at all. I’ve put it near the kitchen while cooking and sometimes it detects things and sometimes it doesn’t and some odors can linger longer than I thought they should (onions) but the odors do seem to go away.

Since this is my first air purifier, I don’t have anything to compare it to but I can say that it does help, but it’s not as dramatic a change as I thought it would be.

This appears to be cutting edge when it comes to air purifiers. I bought it because I like the fact they had a washable carbon filter. I was disappointed it didn’t come in anything but black but I’ll survive it.

However it is so much complicated being a smart device and I have yet to figure out how to make it become part of my smart network of many devices, which may be part of the problem I have over 20 devices in my smart Network.

. It operates sufficiently, I guess, and anything that would be relevant. I’ve yet to notice anything that’s significantly wonderful and nothing that is a problem. I like the size, and again I can’t impress is very quiet and I like that.

And it does look pretty sleek and design if someone’s into that. But I recommend it – probably. It definitely appears to have far more bells and whistle’s. The color is black I would rather had something else Although it is growing on me.

And I wish I could get on the smart network. UPDATE this thing has never stayed on and keeps shutting itself off. It’s too late to request a replacement so I’m taking a pretty big ‘hit’ to my wallet on this one.

My favorite new household item! My son suffers from terrible allergies. He has about 15 and most of those are related to mold dust and dander. We have a dog and we had no idea that the allergies were related to her so to have an air purifier that actually helps my son to not sneeze is so important.

It’s a quiet machine it filters the air and I’m always worried about it because we have a dog and fish and I cook a lot. We also leave the doors open and any of the other natural allergens are in our house at any given time because the windows are open.

Some seasons have been harder but this little machine has been really awesome. It was so easy that my 10-year-old set it up for me. It really took about 10 minutes or less to get it going and we use it as needed but it works.

I also like that there is an app. It makes it really easy to control and there is a way you can lock it on top so if you have a baby or a little one who likes to play with buttons it doesn’t even look like it’s on, the lights go dim and you can’t see that it’s on.

It’s actually really cool. I’m really impressed of the technology and absolutely love this air purifier. What a difference it makes!.

I bought a Levoit 400S and 2 smaller Winix units at Home Depot. The Levoit 400S is excellent and the controls and features are nice. I like the particulate counter and the easy to understand air quality ring indicators.

The unit is very quiet at low speeds but still moves a good amount of air. Also excels at removing cooking odors. The 2 Winix units I was not so pleased with. They were noisier and one was vibrating excessively; from a mechanical viewpoint that is a bad sign.

So I replaced both Winix with the Levoit 400S, now I have 3 and I am very pleased. Of course the local Home Depot having the 400S on sale for $99. 99 also helped. I researched the Levoit brand and was sold on all of the positive reviews and awards.

This all started with me viewing the Hunter HP450 on HSN; I feel like I got a much better product in the form of the Levoit 400S. I don’t mind the bigger size 400S for the bedrooms they are so good and quiet they are worth making room for.

But of corse if that is an issue Levoit has a smaller unit that I am sure is just as excellent.

After a huge amount of research I landed on the 250, after a fast deliver we placed in the open plan lounge/kitchen. 24hours later, the house feels fresher, I can’t put my finger on it but it really does the job.

We bought it for the impending fire season but its now on auto all the time. on low its whisper quiet, med is as loud as our fridge and high is a noticeable fan which we haven’t experienced at all. we’ve been so happy with this that we went out and bought a 150 for the bedroom.

However, on receiving this and running it overnight, it found itself in UPS on the way home as it was noticeably noisier than the 250 and I guess you can say we have been spoilt. So if you’re looking for a 700-1,200 Sqft cover I doubt there is anything on the market that will stand up to this.

Oh and we live in a contemporary home so the fact it looks like a retro speaker and not something from sharper image helped us alot 🙂 Hightly reccomened.

This air purifier works very well and pleased with purchase. I really wanted the WiFi model where I could connect remotely. I purchased the WiFi model and I could never connect or get help with connecting it to WiFi – I have a reputable Wifi Service and cannot believe that this would not connect after paying over $400.

I purchased the non WiFi model because I liked the way this purifier cleaned the air. Good Product – Bad WiFi product which is too bad.

I picked up this excellent device because our new house used to have a wood shop in the basement. Try as we might, sweeping and mopping diligently, there’s still a good bit of dust floating around. This purifier is super quiet, the smart mode is wonderful (I love effective devices I can set and forget) and it’s already helped my allergies immensely! It has also caused my wife to forget it’s working (because her asthma hasn’t acted up since we got it).

I like the Coway 300 for use in my living room. I have allergies, and the 300 really helps. I have an 18 ft. ceiling in this room, and my Coway 200M and Mighty models just couldn’t handle the large space.

The main living room is open to the kitchen and dining rooms, and I have the smaller models in those locations as well. The 300 produces the identical noise level as the smaller models at speed 2. I normally run the smaller Coways at lower speeds (1 or 2) , since they are just too noisy at the max speed.

The 300 produces the same CFM at speed 2 as the 200M and the Mighty at speed 3. I don’t find the 200M speed 3 useful under normal circumstances, but it is really needed for large spaces. The 300 works great at speed 2 with noise at a tolerable level.

You can’t even tell if it is on when at speed 1. Most importantly, the 300 lets me breathe and lets us watch TV or talk at speed 2. It is expensive, but worth it. I should mention that I checked the noise levels with a sound pressure meter, so I am not speculating about the db levels for my Coways.

The sometimes recommendation to buy two smaller air purifiers instead of one large one for a big room ignores the fact that two machines will increase the noise level if in the same room. The Coway 300 is highly recommended for a large space.

Not cheap but good build quality, very stylish, and the “smart” auto sensing feature works perfectly. It is REALLY quiet on the low setting. more so than other units. The high setting makes some noise but is very effective and doesn’t stay on long.

I want it to be loud and quickly effective when there is smoke in the room. I was gong to give 4 stars because of value. but there are not better value products on the market. One can spend the same or more on an inferior unit.

I did find one manufacturer of cheap units that is pretty good. Those are the 2 I recommend. I would never buy anything else. All the big names you know. forget it. They have sold their soul. they make cheap junk at a high price.

At least Coway is a straightforward and fair transaction. I have two units (a 300 and a 400) and I would buy again.

I wanted an air purifier in order to reduce odors and dust in my home, and too improve it’s air quality. I believe the COWAY AIRMEGA 150, has done just that. This model is compact and unobtrusive, lightweight and portable, stylish, and uncomplicated to set-up.

The purifier has good airflow, easy touch controls, a fairly long cord, and filters that are simple to put in. Additionally, it has filter change and intuitive air-quality indicators with a light that can be turned on or off.

I love the auto mode which adjusts the speed of the machine according to the air quality. Moreover, the purifier probably won’t disturb your sleep since it runs very quietly on all but the highest setting.

The cute sage green color matches well with my home decor. I’m pleased that this appliance integrates into my daily life with minimal interruption, and blends seamlessly into my space. I feel more confident about the air quality of my home knowing that this terrific, effective air purifier features three stage filtration that combines a pre-filter, which is washable and easy to clean, a deodorization filter that quickly removes over 99.

99% of odors, pollen and pollutants, and a HEPA filter to reduce contamination in the air.

This is the first time I have ever used an air purifier. My review may be skewed a bit because I have nothing to compare it to. So, first impression the color is great I actually chose the green its like a soft mint green beautifully colored.

The unit itself is not heavy nor bulky it is a perfect size for my master bedroom. The buttons are simple low, medium, high and auto. The Auto setting is good as it detects more particles it auto moves to the higher settings have then turns down once they have diminished.

Not a good setting however when I sleep. I’m a Mom of and have that Mom radar so any loud noise I wake up. It’s not that loud not a jet engine but louder that a celling fan on high and when it goes on and off at an given chance then it wakes me up.

I just leave it at the low setting at night and you can’t even hear it super duper quiet. I do have allergies and I think its working. I wake with less crust in my eye. I have had it for about 2 months now the filters look really easy to replace not a complicated at all which I like and there are three.

So, far so good I’m looking to possibly getting one for the main living area but I need one of the bigger models.

It does everything as advertized. Easu to set up, took 10 minutes each. Use it in bedroom at night and one in home office/den during the day. On 1 its’ so quiet you can’t even hear in the dead of night.

Medium makes a nice sort of low background quiet noise which is good for working. On3 it sounds like a jet plane taking off, but them again it sucks in are like a monster. On auto its awesome. Usually it kicks off at 1 and then will cycle up to medium if it smells odors or the dust/pollutant levels rise and then back down again to whisper super quiet.

I bought primarily for dust management so since ive had then for only 3 days or so I can’t tell which is why i only gave a 4 out of 5. After 2 weeks depending on ow it handles the dust , I’ll re-rate it.

But overall, I’m super satisfied and couldn’t be happier. Looks great, easy to move around, easy to wipe clean, and quiet when you need to be. I’d highly recommend this for small to mid sized rooms especially for a city apartment dweller like me who is stuck inside either due to heat, cold , or allergies.

And now with Covid , a little extra sanitation on the air can’t hurt. Go for it!.

Very quiet if ran on speed 2 or lower. I purchased one of these and two of the 600s model. Might have been overkill for our 1000sf apartment but we have a golden retriever that tends to make every surface in the home dust covered over the course of one day.

We usually keep the bedroom and bathroom doors that lead to the living room closed, there is also a sliding bathroom door in the bedroom that we keep open. This means our home is essentially split: 2\3 space in living room\kitchen and then 1\3 for the bedroom\bathroom.

We put the 400s in the bedroom near the sliding door to cover that ~300sf and then use 2 600s units, one more in the living room and 1 more in the kitchen. Again might be overkill but it allows us to run them fairly low speed to where you can barely hear them but still cover the area we need.

The wifi compatibility is amazing and allows us to set schedules to where we don’t have to worry about manually changing speeds based on different times of day. We turn them up higher at night and when we leave for work and all of that can be scheduled and left alone.

Do note that the air quality sensors are not intended for pollen or dust. They are meant to read the very small particles like smoke or VOCs given off by something like hairspray. I tested them by blowing candles out and it immediately recognized the shift in air quality and turned the fan on high to correct this.

It also sensed my fiancee using hairspray and kicked on high to correct that too. We didn’t even think about that until it happened. So far just from a few days of use the apartment is much much less dusty and has hardly any build up on surfaces where as before in one single day there’d be a fairly thick sheet of dust on the coffee table and my home theater speakers.

Be sure to check elsewhere for better price and use best buy price match. Remember that just because a unit can cover your whole area by itself that it means it can on high. If you want it quieter you will need multiple units running on lower speed.

It spreads out the dust collection much better as well.

First purchase was the sibling model covering 129 SF. This larger model (PlasmaPro 400s, covering 403 SF) is much more user friendly. With the smaller model (129 SF), you turn on the unit, select the fan speed, and off you go – for as long as you want the machine to be on.

What I like most about the PlasmaPro 400s is the Automatic Setting. When you first turn on the machine, you can select the automatic setting – allowing the unit to adjust the air purification (fan speed) according to the air quality.

The more cleansing the air requires, the unit increases the purification process – the less you need, the unit automatically reduces the purification process. In addition there is a light “ring” on the top of the PlasmaPro 400s that provides a visible notification of air quality.

If the ring changes color, the unit will adjust to purify the air as required. The smaller unit (129 SF) does not have the visible notification of the purification process, nor does it automatically adjust.

The PlasmaPro 400s is definitely quiet, though the unit has not needed to increase the purification process greatly – I guess time will tell with more usage. This unit currently located in an area of 600 SF (kitchen/dining), so it takes a bit longer for the purification.

If you place this unit in a smaller area (400 SF or less) the purification process would take less time. The best thing about BOTH units is that, after turning off the power, BOTH units remember the last setting, and resumes the last setting when you turn on the power to the air purifier.

After using this unit (PlasmaPro 400s) for a while, I’m considering giving this as a gift for family members.

I received this product in exchange for a review. It’s design is super stylish, the display is easy to read and the app is extremely user friendly and easy to use. I love that it can be programmed to turn on and off at specific times on a schedule.

Once I unboxed and set up the unit, I downloaded the free (VeSync) app and set up my start/stop times, room size, and Alexa integration. Each process was simple and the app was clear and easy to navigate.

I have mine set up in my living room to turn on at 6:00pm and off at 11:00pm each day. I have also selected the office square footage so the fan will run at its optimal speed. You can view the PM2. 5 reading either on top of the display, or in the app quickly, letting you know how healthy your air quality is at any given moment.

From there, you can easily adjust the unit up or down if needed. This unit has a plasma function that will detect and eliminate odor as well, so if you have pets and they come into the room, the unit will detect it and clean accordingly.

Filter installation is the easiest of any air purifier I have ever used. You simply turn the unit over, twist the bottom to unlock, drop the filter in, twist the bottom to lock, turn over and turn on.

The filter health is also easy to check in the app so you know when it is time to order a new one. Alexa voice commands work great. If you want to talk to your air purifier and give it commands, you can do so.

I can’t say enough good things about the Levoit Air Purifier. It is great looking, not too big, not too noisy, easy to program, easy to change filters, etc. If you are in the market for an air purifier, which IMHO everyone should be, I highly recommend the Levoit 400S.

I have awful allergies and I’m supposed to get a weekly allergy shot at the doctors office on top of my two oral medications and two nasal sprays. Air purifiers are a must have for me. I want the Dyson because I have everything else Dyson, but I’m in an apartment for approximately the next two years, so I needed something more suitable.

This was in the top ten on Amazon and had all excellent ratings and I’m glad I went with it. It’s almost silent on the first fan setting / night mode and not bothersome at all on the second fan mode.

It is a bit loud on the third /highest mode , but you really only need to run that if you encounter odors, smoke, etc. so it’s short term. It’s incredibly easy to set up and use and very lightweight if you want to move it around.

It has a special HEPA 3 stage pet allergy filtration filter that does everything from trapping and biologically decomposing household odors to capturing large particles such as dust, lint, fibers, hair, pet fur and pet dander to trapping fine particles such as dust mites, pet dander, mold spores and pollen.

It has features like a timer , pet lock, check filter indicator and display off. I’m very pleased with this purchase and can really tell a difference when I wake up in the morning. I’m definitely not as stuffy and my eyes aren’t swollen.

A lot of the reviews mentioned that because this filter is superior, people without pets we’re choosing this model too. If you’re looking for a purifier for a smaller space, I really recommend this one.

The replacement filters are very reasonably priced and cheaper than the competition too!.

I recently moved into my first apartment, and my neighbors (even though it’s not allowed) would smoke in their apartment. The smell would come through my vents and made EVERYTHING smell smokey. My clothes smelled, my furniture, the whole (1bd) place just reeked.

My amazing mother looked at every purifier out there and this one had the best results and reviews! She soon ordered it for me, and now my apartment actually smells like my scentsy, my clothes smell clean, my furniture is “frebreezy” for longer! I absolutely love it! This has been the best purchase for my apartment since I started planning! This is most definitely not a necessity, but I would say the only down side is not being able to set it for a routine or be able to turn it off or on without going to it and tapping the top.

I have terrible memory and will forget to turn it on before I leave for work so that it runs during the day while I’m gone, or I’ll forget to turn it on before I go to bed. I set a reminder on my phone for it though, hehe.

I bought two air purifiers a few months ago as a last-ditch effort to improve my breathing. After years of trying to figure out what was causing my asthma flare-ups in the fall (tightening chest especially at night) this filter has finally improved my symptoms! I did everything under the sun to improve my breathing: I removed all carpeting in my house, switched to leather furniture, encased all sleeping items in dust-mite proof casings, had my house inspected for mold, and I have no pets.

NOTHING improved my symptoms until this filter. If I feel my lungs tightening, I can turn the filter on high and I can actually FEEL my asthma symptoms lift. My husband, who does not have asthma but does have allergies, has similarly found that the filter has improved his breathing.

His nighttime wheeze and snoring has gone away! We turn the filter on high for 20 minutes or so before we go to bed with the doors closed, then let it run on low or sleep mode over night. It is SO quiet and has a sleep mode that turns off all the lights — a HUGE bonus.

After a lot of cleaning, I will turn the filters on and move them around the house to pull things out of the air that may have been stirred up. I cannot recommend this filter highly enough. This filter will change your life if you suffer from allergies or breathing problems.

Our daughter has had a 411+ for over 2 years. She uses it to reduce the risk of Covid-19 spread and to remove summer time forest fire smoke (BlueAirs are fantastic at removing smoke!). We bought a 411 Auto and had a chance to compare the two machines side by side (Additionally, our new 411+ just arrived and is virtually identical to the 2 year-old 411+).

For our purposes the 411+ is better, but it’s not because of the auto function—the 411 Auto can be operated manually. Rather it’s because of the redesign of the machine. There are four reasons we like the 411+ better: 1.

The noises the 411+ makes on high are a lower frequency and are much more tolerable than the higher frequency noises the 411 Auto makes when set on high. My wife, daughter and her guy, and I all share this perception.

2. The 411+ has a very functional medium speed and the 411 Auto does not. This is important to us because medium is the speed we use most with our previously purchased BlueAir 211+ and expect to use the most with our new 411+.

On both models, low fan speed is very slow. It’s almost silent and creates only a very light air current. But on the 411+, medium speed is at least twice as fast as it’s low speed setting; making a big difference in air movement with a very livable noise level.

On the 411 Auto, the medium speed is only slightly faster than low speed and only makes a slight difference in air movement. It’s like having two low speeds, very slow and normal slow. With both models, high speed seems at least three times low speed and moves a lot of air.

3. The 411+ main filter is much more protected from life’s bump and bruises because it’s inside the metal cylindrical structure of the machine. In comparison, the 411 Auto has the main filter outside the cylindrical structure of the machine making it potentially more vulnerable to damage.

4. The 411+ pre-filter is much easier to get on and off to check the condition of the main filter and to hand wash (we know both pre-filters can also be vacuumed). It does not touch the surface of the main filter.

It’s all stretchable fabric and easily slips off and back on the outside of the metal cylinder which has the main filter inside. The 411 Auto pre-filter is in direct contact with the surface of the main filter.

The pre-filter has to be a little more substantial to protect the external main filter. Most of the pre-filter is non-stretch fabric with a Velcro closure panel that exposes an elastic panel. This elastic panel allows the pre-filter to be rolled off and back over the main filter with out damaging the main filter.

It’s a bit fiddly. The 411 Auto does have at least one advantage. It seems to be made for light sleepers who use the air purifier very frequently in their bedrooms. The auto setting insures that the air purifier will run at the slowest and quietest speed consistent with clean air.

We’re not light sleepers, nor heavy sleepers. My wife and I could sleep with the 411+ high, but medium is probably the speed we’ll use the most in the bedroom unless we have very bad forest fire smoke.

I was told that the 411+ will be discontinued in favor of the 411 Auto. I hope BlueAir will reconsider and continue the 411+.

I purchased a Blueair Pure 411+ for a specific purpose, to make a small room into “clean room” for a large-scale photo scanning project (11K 35mm negatives and slides). Dust is my enemy. There are ways to remove dust spots during or after the scans with computer photo programs, but I wanted to go after the source first.

The best defense is a good offense, as they say. I also have another smaller, less capable air cleaner on the desk where I load the film carrier as well as a humidifier to keep the air moist in the room (50% relative humidity).

The latter helps to flatten the negatives (take out the curl) and reduces static electricity. All this plus a thorough room cleaning helped manage the dust problem, although it wasn’t eliminated entirely.

The 411+ works well. Its outermost filter uses a sort of an open ended tube sock as the first line of defense. It fits over the air intake portion of the cleaner. The power cord comes out the upper end of the cleaner and is channeled down the side, so I put the sock on over the cord.

It looks awkward but doesn’t affect anything. The sock is easy to wash and in my case it’s what traps the dust. A basic black sock comes with the air cleaner but I think you can buy other colors to match your own aesthetics.

The instructions said to press the switch on top to start, stop and adjust the three speeds. But the switch is capacitor operated and you just to lay your palm on it to work it. No pressure needed. You can press forever on the middle of the switch and nothing will happen unless you just happen to trigger the capacitor.

You can sign up for an automatic internal filter replacement shipments every six months. I didn’t do that as I didn’t need any more automatic anything on a credit card. I am happy with the 411+ and will probably get a larger model for the downstairs of my house, maybe this spring before pollen season.

I have a problem there as I like to have windows open in spring, summer and fall. I hate being closed in, but pollen can cause me a lot of discomfort. I need to walk some kind of fine line on this issue.

The Blue Pure 411+ air filter is the second air filter I’ve had, but the first unit from this company. One thing I noticed right away was how quiet the Blue filter was compared to my other filter which claimed to be “quiet enough to run while sleeping” but in reality this Blue filter on medium speed was about the same noise as my old filter is on low.

That being said, I also noticed, as others have said, that although the low setting is extremely quiet, the noise level after switching to medium is a large jump. This means you can’t really slowly ramp up, it’s either very low, or pretty high fan speeds.

I do like how quiet the Blue Pure filter is on low, but I am unsure how successful that setting is at such a slow and low rate but Blue does say that it still is efficient, even at low levels. I’ve only had the filter for about 3 days but so far I have noticed the low setting does seem to still work pretty well at cleaning the air.

We tend to run it on high or medium for most of the time and then switch to low at night. And it is worth noting, the low setting is WHISPER quiet, it really is. How well it works is still not proven to me, but it is definitely very quiet.

The unit has 3 filters total that work together to clean the air in a very efficient way and we have noticed our allergy symptoms lessen and a freshness to the room. The outer filter is easily removable and washable and also comes in multiple colors if you want to match a color scheme in your room.

We have this unit in a small bedroom that is carpeted and we have a long hair dog that also sleeps in the room every night. But combined with other standard cleaning processes like vacuuming, we have noticed that the air is much cleaner and easier to breath.

Other positive things I noticed are less key features but help make the filter a little unique and special. For example, there is a small magnet on the power cord that helps keep the cord run clean down the unit.

It’s not necessary but it is a nice feature that shows attention to detail. Another feature that is actually pretty useful for me personally is that even though the control button is a “digital button” (vs a physical analog switch) the filter still remembers and automatically switches to the previous setting after the power is cut to the unit.

What this means is if you use a smart plug to turn on and off your filter, the Blue Pure 411+ will automatically turn on to the same setting it was on when the smart switch turned it off or the plug was pulled.

This is another feature that shows the engineers thought through these things and adjusted to make the units useful with modern technology. Because of this, we can use a smart switch to turn the filter on a few hours before we go to bed and turn off automatically when we are not in the room.

There’s not a lot to complain about this filter but I’ll touch on a few cons maybe worth mentioning that may affect some people’s opinion. The unit only has one button that is a touch sensitive button and is a little weak in it’s sensitivity.

I found myself mostly just tapping the button over and over until the setting went to what I wanted. Along that line, it’s also worth noting there is no remote or app for this unit so you will need to physically use the button on the unit if you want to make any change to the speed settings.

Some may say the low setting is a bit of a con if it isn’t powerful enough to clean the air very well but if you find that being a problem you can still crank up the speed to a level that works for you.

Obviously this would be a louder fan though. That said, so far I have not seen any issues or had problems that would make me wish I did not get this unit and in the future we will be looking at Blue filters for other rooms in the house as well.

I would recommend this brand and this unit to my friends.

Pros: —Purchased my 211+ Auto directly from Blueair in July 2021 and several months later the control button on top of unit stopped working. It happens – an inconvenience but not a big deal. Contacted Blue Air and a replacement unit was shipped out to me and I returned the original unit at no cost to me.

Kudos to Blue Air folks for honoring their warranty and replacing my faulty unit promptly! —Love the fact that Blueair offers a “First responders” and “Military personnel” discount – much appreciated! —The 211+ Auto moves a lot of air on the second speed without too much white noise which is what I was looking for in an air purifier! The unit sucks in air from all four sides of the machine and sends air out of the top of the machine – nice.

—This unit was recommended by Consumer Reports as was the 211+. However, the Auto version is more energy efficient and has a sensor with an “Auto” speed setting which are the primary reasons I chose it over the 211+.

Cons: —The prefilter skirt does not hold up very well. After weekly vacuuming and washing it every few months the stitching comes loose. I have purchased two OEM replacements during the past year and I recommend having a spare on hand for when needed.

—The OEM filter that came with my first unit was great. I cranked the air purifier up and the air coming out of the top of the unit smelled fresh and clean. Unfortunately, the OEM filter that came with my replacement unit had a sour smell that lasted about 2-3 weeks before it dissipated.

I had hoped that was just a one off situation. However, the brand new OEM filter that I recently installed also has that same sour smell (it is hard to forget). My unit has been running 24/7 for almost a week so I am thinking that I am going to need to wait another week like the last time before the sour smell subsides.

I find it ironic that OEM filters that are supposed to improve air quality by reducing air particles and odors actually created bad odors during the initial weeks of use in my case. I have thought about trying a third party compatible filter but I read that will void my warranty and I suspect that the filter specs would be different from a third party supplier anyway.

There is a lot to like about this machine but I hate to think that I may need to repeat this process when I install a new Blueair OEM filter. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this otherwise excellent air purifier until I am confident that the filter odor issue I experienced with two out of three filters has been resolved.

I have another sealed back-up OEM filter that I purchased and will see how that filter performs when I install it in approximately 6 months. I plan on doing a review update at that time.

I bought a 211+ last fall and was so pleased with the performance that I decided to buy a second unit for the family room. Instead I bought a 211+ Auto and the improvement over an already awesome machine in kind of mind-blowing.

The older unit is in the family room in the basement and I put the new 211+Auto in the living room. It’s so so so quiet. But I love the way it kicks in when it senses pollutants/irritants in the air.

If I cook anything that smokes (e. g. , tortillas in a cast iron pan), I can hear the Auto kick into a higher gear until it has cleaned the air sufficiently and lowers the fan automatically. The effectiveness of the filters is good enough that I’ve seen a clear improvement in my allergies and a decrease in my need for extra allergy meds.

Typically in the spring and summer I need to double my allergy meds (2x per day) to keep my asthma under control but I’ve only needed a second dose once or twice this year! I also love the pre-filters.

It’s easy to see when it’s time to change the pre-filter. They’re easy to change, easy to wash, and a great way to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the units. Finally, I appreciate the filter replacement subscription.

It significantly reduces the mental & organizational friction of maintaining the units and keeps my indoor air quality as high as possible year round. When I received my first replacement filter, I thought to myself, meh, it hasn’t been THAT long; maybe I can save some money and squeeze a little more time out of the old filter.

Then I compared the old filter to the new one and the difference between the two made it clear that 1) the filter had worked hard for 6 months, and 2) a new filter would ensure continued good results.

I purchased the Pure 211+Auto about a month ago after researching air purifiers reviews. We live in East Texas, where we have beautiful spring blooms, but horrible pollen problems almost year round, especially in the spring.

Since using Blueair Pure+Auto, our allergies are significantly reduced this spring. I particularly like that this model automatically adjusts to the amount of particulate matter in the air. When I initially set it up and turned it on, it ran on a more robust speed with the yellow indicator showing, but since then it has been on a low quiet setting with the blue indicator on.

The purifier is very quiet; we don’t even notice it in the at night during sleep hours. I had bought a purifier years ago, but it wasn’t that efficient and was loud, like a blower dryer on low setting.

Another aspect that I like about this purifier is that it is made for a specific size room, so you’re not buying a model that is over or under the air space capacity that can happen with a “one-size fits all” purifier.

So glad I purchased this purifier.

Excellent air purifier. Very quiet on the 2 lower speeds, not too bad on high either, as compared to other air purifiers. The automatic function works extremely well. Smoke from cooking, or vape from an e-cig, it powers right up and clears it out quickly.

Noticeably cleaner air and much less dust in the house as well. A warning however- check the fan by looking down into the output vent when you first receive the machine. Turn it on and note if the fan is in balance, not any wobble side to side while running.

If the fan wobbles, it will eventually fail and break apart. I bought this to replace another I had just bought, the same model, but the one with the round front grille. It worked fine, but the fan had a noticeable wobble.

I researched it and found out the ones that do that blow up within about 6 months of use. So I tried another, this one, and it is perfect like the majority of the reviews say! There must have been a bad batch at some point.

My husband and I recently moved to an area where the air quality isn’t that great. Needless to say, an air purifier was at at the top of our list. We’ve had other brands (which shall remain nameless) in the past that we weren’t pleased with – my husband has known that you’re products are built to last so this is what he recommended for our small place.

The difference in incredible! True to the description, no cooking or pet odors. Ease of cleaning and maintenance not to mention – intuitive. There’s barely a need for an instruction booklet. To illustrate how well this unit performs, we’re normally in the blue (purple if cooking).

A few seconds after we open the front door, the indicator turns red. Within ten short minutes, we’re back in the blue again. Couldn’t be more pleased! Recommended to a few friends that live in the area.

We’ve only had this unit (AirMega 200M AP-1518R(US)) for a few weeks and we haven’t had any problems with it. We liked the price. A very unscientific test consisted of wiping down a table top and then after a week noticing no dust on it and it seems that there is some dust after only a week.

It is a bit harder to tell because we already have a MERV13 filter on our AC/furnace. We don’t like the LEDs being so bright, which is not noticeable during the day but very noticeable at night, but some bottle caps on top of the LEDs fix that problem.

Setting up was easy and no problem, and I suspect that some people are simply unboxing and plugging in without noticing the bright yellow tags and/or following the instructions about removing the shipping plastic on the filters.

The manual could be a bit clearer on some things and the coway web site is not very easy for searching for data. On the internet I found conflicting information about power and noise and as far as I can tell, the actual noise levels range from 24.

4dB to 53. 8dB and the power levels (watts) are as follows: sleep speed1 speed2 speed3 <1. 0 3. 4 8. 6 70. 0 With the ionizer on (which we don't use due to concerns about ozone production), it maxes out at 82W.

Mail tech support is pretty quick, but as is customary with all tech support, only ask one question at a time! (:-) We have it on eco mode mostly. The noise level is hard to detect at the low speed, noticeable but not annoying at medium, and a little loud at high, but we don’t anticipate it being on high for more than a few minutes per year.

This is my second Levoit air purifier that I bought just days after getting their H133. I was so amazed by the performance of the larger unit that I decided to get the 200S for my bedroom and it definitely lived up to my very high expectations of Levoit products.

Let me highlight some of the strengths and weaknesses of the 200S. Design (9/10): This little thing is the perfect size to set on a nightstand, countertop or bookshelf. Unlike most air purifiers, it is actually nice to look at too and almost looks like more of a piece of modern art than a machine.

The top of the device contains the control pad, and also serves as the vent where the clean air comes out of. The control pad also houses the night light, which creates a warm glow when turned on. The bottom of the unit houses the filter and has small holes around the entire machine to allow air to enter the filter.

The only thing I wish it had is some small indentions or handles on the side to make it easier to carry. You definitely don’t want to drop this thing. Noise (10/10): As you can see, I have this unit right on my nightstand next to my bed.

On sleep mode, you don’t even know the thing is on. On low, it is barely audible which is what I leave it on during the night. Medium and high are louder though but also that’s to be expected. Performance (100/10): The rating is not a typo.

Here is where this thing really shines. I use this purifier in conjunction with my H133 and my breathing at night has never been better. The purifier catches all kinds of dust and impurities that are easy to see when you take the filter out for regular cleaning.

The air quality in my small, stuffy bedroom is now clean and since the fan is so effective, the air is no longer stuffy as well. Features (9/10): 3 fan speeds, a timer, a night light and smart home integration.

This purifier can be controlled from anywhere and has almost all the features you need. The only thing I would recommend for future models is an auto mode similar to what they have on their larger purifiers, where the machine can automatically detect changes in air quality and turn the fan up or down depending.

Ease of use/cleaning (10/10): Operating the unit is as simple as turning it on from the app or on the top of the unit itself. The timer feature can be set to 2 hour intervals on the device or any time you want on the app.

Cleaning couldn’t be easier as you just slip the filter out of the bottom weekly and either wipe or vacuum the dust off the surface of the filter and put it back in. Overall (9. 8/10): Overall, this unit performs exactly as you’d expect a Levoit product to perform and that’s a lot to say.

The only points taken off are for the lack of an “auto mode” and also needing some handles/grip tape to make it easier to pick up and move around. It is well built for easy operation and the aesthetically pleasing design allows you to put it just about anywhere as it is not an eyesore to look at in the slightest.

The machine itself works incredibly well in purifying the air to where I can now sleep well through the night and wake up breathing easily instead of having congestion. Couple good performance with an easy to use interface and simple cleaning instructions, and you get one high-quality air purifier that will meet all your needs.

This is a very versatile, efficient and powerful air purifier. The controls are set in the top of the unit and are very easy to understand and operate. I familiarized myself with them in conjunction with the user manual.

This unit is fairly large and designed to operate effectively in a larger room, and so it is perfect for my living room. The SMART technology is extremely innovative in the way it scans the surrounding environment and then it sends updates to my Android phone in real time.

This allows me to check that everything is working properly and producing the kind of air quality I am looking for. I like to have the Auto Mode feature enabled because it can facilitate the automatic adjustment of the fan speed when the air quality warrants it.

The lowest speed is very quiet but obviously the noise levels increase, the higher the fan speed. There are 4 fan speeds. The air purifier provides true HEPA filtration and traps both airborne and small particles.

It has a high capture rate (in the high 90’s), and I am confident that I am receiving a high level of air quality. I had never heard of Plasma Technology until now, but it fascinates me to think that this unit has a plasma function capable of generating negative and positive ions that can neutralize pollutants.

I am a fan of the VeSync app which is easy to download, and which has a variety of uses including the monitoring of filter life and gives notifications when it is time to change the filter. I am also having fun using the VeSync app as a remote control and for creating my preferred schedules for when I want the unit to switch on and off.

There are so many wonderful features associated with this air purifier, too numerous to mention. Definitely not disappointed with this one!.

The Levoit PlasmaPro 600S True HEPA Air Purifier has been a breath of fresh air in our home. The quality of air in our home has improved significantly. We received this unit about 2 days ago and there is a noticeable difference in the air that we breathe in our home.

We are currently using this air purifier on the first floor of our home and it does an amazing job removing everyday dust and pollen and removing those strong food smells from our kitchen area. The purifier uses a 3-stage filtration system plus a really unique feature that I have not seen before.

So, lets go over the features, PROS and CONS of the Levoit PlasmaPro 600S True HEPA Air Purifier. Setup: The setup process for the Levoit PlasmaPro is rather simple. Before you begin to use the unit, you need to twist the top portion off and remove the plastic off the HEPA filter.

Simply place the filter back in and you are ready to go. But, if you would like to be able to control the unit, then I would highly recommend that you download the accompanying VeSync app. To sync your machine with the app, you simply hold down the power button for 5 seconds until the WIFI symbol on the unit starts to blink and it should connect.

If you like, you can also connect the unit to either Alexa or to your Google Eco System. Now, you can control your unit from anywhere and also with a simple voice command. Your unit is ready to go. Features: Unit Specs -12.

5 X 12. 5 X 24 – 14lbs This air purifier can be used for large room up 1500 sq. ft, but in the room that large the purifier will only clean and recirculate the air twice per hour, which is still not bad.

Our first floor is about 850 to 900 sq. ft, so we estimate that it is cleaning and recirculating the air about 3 to 4 times per hour. PlasmaPro – So this is something new for me and I have yet to see on any air purifier.

So, to make it simple, once this option is turned on it breaks down the pollutants, odorous gases, aerosols and VOCs. So, to put this unit to the test, I sprayed and aerosol air fresher and the unit sucked it all in and after a few seconds I was not able to smell the scent at all.

So, I can tell you that this thing works. Touch Sensitive buttons – The unit has 8 touch sensitive buttons with a really nice display LED display in the middle. In the middle you will also find a light senor.

The light senor mode when activated, the purifier will adjust itself based on the light in the room and once the room is dark it will power it self off. Air Sight Plus- The Air sight plus mode will adjust the fan based on the air quality in the room.

Overall, I am very happy with this air purifier. I have tired and tested out multiple units and this one had all the features that I wanted. Its affordable, it works for large rooms, easy to maintain, WIFI connection and the ability to add this to my Google system and best of all it does what it is meant to do and that is to provide you with pure clean air.

Asking for a review so here it is, after two weeks usage. I purchased the BioGS and the A2, but returned the BioGS after seeing the quality of the carbon filter. Carbon is a very cheap material, but they chose to only add a quarter of what the honeycombed plastic holder would hold.

So it was rejected without bothering to turn it on as it is just basically a hepa filter, and there are cheaper ones. With the A2, I noticed my old house did not have the usual odor of old house as strongly as it did.

But I wonder why Rabbit Air did not use 1. Cardboard inserts in the packaging for shipping the machine. Other companies, especially if they are involved in helping clean up the planet, use ALL recycled material.

I now have pieces of styrofoam I have to deal with at the dump. And 2. The replaceable filters have hard plastic holding them together. This is just not necessary, and something that is going to be trash in a few months could be make out of something recyclable.

To replace the filters in a few months, I would love to see hard cardboard or a corn based, compostable plastic product. As for the efficiency of the A2, I am undecided. It appears to be coming on when it senses odors, but the carbon odor filter, which was the most important thing to me, was also not filled so I can see spaces where the air can just circumvent the carbon.

And the machine is really **** and in the way. You aren’t supposed to have it in a corner, and they recommend putting it 3-5′ in the air, so not sure how that is supposed to work in a small house. A round esthetic shape would have been much more discreet.

So that’s my thoughts. For the money, it could have been so much better, more carbon, smaller footprint, no styrofoam, no plastic filters. But I was also looking at replacement overall, and the 5 year warranty is making me most likely to keep it.

I’m glad I have time to try it out.

Ever since the pandemic started, I developed some of the worst allergies. So bad that I now have asthma, have to take daily meds so I can breathe, and I haven’t slept comfortably in over 18 months. I have seasonal allergies, as well as pet, dander and dust allergies.

Not to mention, I own a cat and dog that shed tons of hair. Prior to purchasing my MinusA2, I was vacuuming and dusting every day, using a daily inhaler and taking allergy pills as if it was candy. Not the kind of life I wanted to live.

I am thrilled to say this air purifier has saved my life. Ever since I plugged it in I’m able to breathe! Now I sleep uninterrupted, haven’t had to use my inhaler, AND haven’t had to take allergy pills.

Also, the hair my pets shed is noticeable less, way less! Leave it up to my doctors and i would be taking allergy shots and using an inhaler for the rest of my life. Words can’t express how happy I am with this purchase.

I purchased the Rabbit Air Purifier in February 2022 mostly to help alleviate cigarette smoke form my downstairs neighbor. I still smell smoke where it originates from inside the two closest doors however the hall way and the rest of the condo is perfectly fine.

I can tell the difference with the purifier going 24/7. I’m very pleased and comfortable with the results. Although it is pricer than other purifiers, it was worth the money for cleaner air. I had tried a less expensive brand from Walmart but returned it for the Rabbit Air.

Another plus is the customer service is outstanding. The agent I spoke to for quite some time did not rush me through my questions, explained everything to me, was very patient and kind. Could not have asked for more.

We love BlueAir all around and have purchased a number of purifiers for different spaces. We are in the San Francisco Bay Area and are again getting swamped with smoke from wildfires. When it comes to filtering out particulate matter, these are fantastic.

Our 480i is the first smart purifier we’ve purchased and the sensors measure a variety of air pollutants (eg PMs and tVOC). The issue I find with this smart purifier is that the sensors indicate tVOCs as one number (per the app) and, according to a BlueAir rep, this single tVOC number captures a number of VOCs including moisture and CO2.

As our 480i is in our garage home gym, the tVOC reading via the app can often show the air is “polluted” or is “very polluted”, and we’re not sure if this is because of moisture or CO2 in the air, or is in fact VOCs from wildfires or industrial off gassing.

The 480i can pick up that there are VOCs, in other words, but doesn’t determine or distinguish what VOCs they are (we can live with airborne moisture and CO2, but would be concerned if the VOCs were not so innocuous).

So, the combination of fairly innocuous gasses and those that are less so (ie more toxic VOCs) that are represented by one tVOC number make the VOC sensors and data relatively moot when it comes to monitoring air quality.

Additionally, running the 480i on full blast does nothing to lessen the tVOC number and leaves it a mystery as to whether or not the filter is actually absorbing toxic VOCs as it should, or not, or is and is just not mitigating the moisture or CO2 components.

Long story short, we trust that the 480i does a great job filtering PMs, but we don’t trust it’s efficacy at reducing VOCs.

I have had this unit for approximately a month. I bought it to supplement two larger (680i) units that I have in bigger areas of my small home. The 280i unit fits well into a small bedroom at the end of a hallway.

I have it positioned within a few feet of the open doorway, so that it also brings in some of the air from the hallway. Although it is not as powerful or effective as the two 680i units I own, it really works well for this specific purpose, and in conjunction with the larger units, it really contributes to keeping my indoor air quality high.

The unit was easy to set up and connect to the internet. I keep it on automatic most of the time, but if the air doesn’t seem fresh enough, I turn it up to the second level on manual. I never need to run it on the highest setting, and thus far the automatic setting has kept it on the lowest setting at all times.

I bought this a month ago, with a smokestop filter. I got it for a house that routinely gets filled with smoke and perfume. Its a shared house, sadly, with very little ventilation. When the house fills with smoke, I notice the smoke smell isn’t less when the 405 is on.

its different. It changes the smell, like there’s a component of it missing. I think the filter is super effective at removing some components of smoke, but not effective at removing the smallest. It does remove large allergens still.

Basically, the machine works. Just not fully. It works well enough for me to recommend. But if you have MCS and need TOTAL filtration, avoid this model.

We purchased the 411 Auto, but I think it somehow got a little banged around during shipping and something inside went off kilter. On the two lower settings, there was a weird rattling sound just loud enough that made it irritating to use in the bedroom.

I wouldn’t knock Blueair for that though, as they packaged the unit quite securely. Customer service was super helpful and very responsive. Because the 411 Auto was out of stock at that point, they gave us the choice to wait until it came back in stock to send us a replacement or send us the 311 Auto immediately.

We opted to get it sooner rather than later and also because we had enough room for it. It works perfectly, no rattling whatsoever and the lowest setting as quiet as can be. The air smells so clean and fresh now.

I wake up in the morning without my nose running. I even feel like there’s noticeably less dust. Blueair as a company has earned my trust and I’m so glad we chose their well-made product.

I was looking for a home filter since my daughter has moderate seasonal allergies and the recent wildfires in our region seemed to cause the rest of our family eye irritation and scratchy throats in the morning.

I looked extensively at options on amazon and other online retailers, and the PURE 411 Auto seemed to check all the boxes. I was at first interested in the expensive aluminum and leather competitor but ultimately the price was too much to swallow, factoring in the recurrent filter cost on top.

I still wanted something auto/with a sensor, hepa equivalent, and virus/mold/bacteria neutralizing, and not ugly. While amazon is flooded with them, I also didn’t want a cheap Chinese knockoff brand that will be gone in 6 months when I look for a new filter.

The minimalist design of the 411 fit well with our home decor, which is what first caught my eye. Looked like something Ikea would offer, and not in a bad way, but rather blending form, function, and frugality.

Given the price, I took a chance on purchasing 2 of these units (one for the family room and one for my daughter’s bedroom) and was still under the cost of the aluminum competitor. I liked the simplicity of the 411 Auto design, and the fabric outer jacket is heavier duty and more attractive than what the original looked like online.

Big fan of the auto fan speed adjustment, and the air quality sensor seems to pick it up when there is more dust or cooking fumes/smoke. Of note, our cool mist style humidifier seemed to trigger the sensor to increase fan speed, so we have found it best to keep them well separated.

The fan is very quiet on the low speed, and noticeable but not unpleasant white noise when it determines it should spool up to the highest speed. So far both our units have surpassed expectation, air inside definitely feels cleaner and freshened.

This might be my first online review ever–that’s how impressed I am. I live in Tokyo and this concrete jungle is VERY dusty. I clean my place twice a week but the dust comes back right away. Due to Covid, I’ve been working at home a lot.

This winter, my indoor allergies got bad–stuffy nose all day and night. Normally I only get seasonal allergies, so I felt like I needed to do something. When this filter arrived from Amazon, I put it on high mode and I could smell a difference in air quality right away.

It’s been 5 days and I can finally breath through my nose again! The pre-filter is already covered in visible dust–that’s how bad my apartment was. I can’t recommend this product enough. I wish I had bought it years ago.

My Tokyo apartment is tiny but I can’t hear this filter on low mode–silent. I can hear it on medium mode but it’s not annoying and it doesn’t bother me at all. Congrats Blue Air, you just won a customer for life!.

It has after 24 continuos hours in kitchen has completely removed the smell of food, trash, and anything in the kitchen. The kitchen is smal(`4×12 feet)l and this unit is FANTASTIC. Its so nice not smelling enverything in my kitchen.

I moved it to our tiny stinky bathroom next. Lets say it I LOVE this item but its was $$ to ME. so i hesitate to buy another. I have it in the bathroom for half a day to take care of odors in there. I will put it in the living room next.

Out of the box, there is NO assembly or putting stuff together. Thank you for putting filters in place, and only needed to plug it in. I DO have the blue germ light on for every minute too. It is hard to explain.

I am sensitive to smells and have allergies. This has helped my sensitivity WONDERFULLY. If you have trouble smelling, this is the unit to get. You will finally get an idea of clean air. Incredibly impressed.

It is a great addition to helping keep everyone’s allergies in control. What I like about this is that it has a HEPA filter along with UV-C sanitizer to help with odor reduction. My allergies are no so annoying, and it is working as I wake up not as nasally.

I figure it will take a while to fully impact my home, and expect to see even more improvement. It is not loud or annoying and there are many settings and levels. It is also not a big space taker either and is just the perfect height to put on an end table or any room.

Great product, well made and so far think in time it will cut the dust, pollen and the particles from even the heating system. This is an all-time air purifier, just monitor the HEPA filer (which they last a long time), and follow manufacturer’s instructions.

Recently ordered three MinusA2. So far they perform excellently. I have a cat and allegries to cats, and my symptoms have stabilized. I also have 3 coway air purifiers and the combo seems to work well (those are cheaper and less feature filled).

Some nice things about the Rabbit: it can hung on a wall, it has a really good auto setting that includes a night time mode when it detects lights are out, and it seems to quickly detect and handle air issues.

Also, I sprung for the art covers since it didn’t add much more to the admittedly expensive price of a rabbit. All three look great and can legit serve as artwork. The Katsushika wave print is actually the big standout out of the three (we got two Monet’s as well).

We’ll see how they do after a extended use.
