20 Best Watch For 500 Dollars (2023 Updated)

Watchia had a watch that was in high demand and sold out in all stores. As a watch enthusiast I am always impatient when waiting on a new watch, but shipping was fast and directly to my door. I am very happy with this experience, and this is not the first, nor the last time I will be shopping from Watchia.

Only bummer was that the watch was on sale at the Danish site (and considerably cheaper), but not at the Norwegian. Go figure. Not much to say about the watch itself. It’s one of four 1969 Speedtimer re-creations.

The watch is gorgeous and beautifully built for it’s price range.

I was impressed about the next day delivery service and the 10% discount offer. I presented the watch on Saturday morning and arrived to my home on Sunday morning! I requested FCW to adjust to my wrist size (18cm) and fit perfectly! The Seiko box was protected number of layers so no worries about damages l.

Growing up, I’ve always saw the Rolly on my dad’s wrist, and wanted the classy and timeless look of it. Eventually, I’ll come across the community of Seiko wearers and learn about it’s reputation and quality.

I couldn’t wait to buy one and when it came in, it was love at first sight. It’s absolutely stunning. If you’re still debating, you’re just wasting time.

I bought this watch because it was stunning for an entry level watch. It was one of the very few watches that featured an outlay of blue verses the solid blue color look that you see in most of the models out there.

This watch gets complements when people actually see it. While this watch seeks no frills of features, its style will get complements like people asking, ” I like the color,” or “What brand is it,” or ” Is it an Omega, Rolex or other Luxury Brands.

” All in all, it starts a great conversation with watch collectors. Sometimes a good watch can get attention regardless of cost. It is all about is this a showstopper and getting people attention. If you want a watch that can make people dream.

This is it. By the way I had the money to get the most expensive version but, chose this instead because it caught my eye immediately. Features are just extra bells and whistle but, a truly good watch is one that makes an impression.

I bought this watch last month, it’s a great looking watch. But when I received the watch, I had to download the owner’s manual and I followed the instructions several times, nothing worked except the second hand, so I knew it was fully charged.

After unscrewing the crown to set the watch manually (owner’s manual says to use page 11, but page 11 and several other pages are missing), therefore, since this watch is supposed to receive a radio signal during the night, I thought let it set the date and time when the watch receives the radio signal, nothing happened during two nights.

Since I could not set the time and date manually or letting the radio signal do the settings, it was clear that this watch was defective. Therefore, I had to return it for a full refund. I even called customer care, and every time I called, I received a recording that “we are closed for President’s Day,” which was two weeks before I made the phone calls to costumer service.

I have been wearing Seiko watches for nearly 50 years. This buy was the worst purchase I did online for a Seiko watch, I am also surprised that customer service would never answer my calls, nor did they update their answering machine.

Terrible, just pathetic.

It looks as good as any watch I have and it was quite easy to set. I’m a big fan of chronographs and solar power. This watch fills both desires and LOOKS REALLY GOOD! It was easy to set and DST was just two button-clicks away.

Just change the time zone one stop east. According to the promo blurb, the battery stores six months’ charge. This puts “another” solar watch to shame. The watch has a wealth features – it is, after all, a chronograph! Read as much of the manual as you need to for your purposes but certainly read the table of contents to help familiarize yourself.

Did I mention that this watch LOOKS REALLY GOOD?.

The quality is fantastic, Seiko is doing a great job in making such refined timepieces for almost nothing. Great finishing an design, build to last, very inexpensive to service when the time comes. I just cannot think of anything bad to say about these Seiko 5s.

I got this seiko snk355 and it does not hot a charge. Charge lasts about 8 hours in full wind. I am dissatisfied in the quantity of this product.

I had never heard of Liv watches until a few weeks ago when I was after a new watch that was a little different to the mainstream. Normally I would go to a shop to look at watches but seeing as they are in Miami bit difficult from the UK.

Having read the reviews and looked at all their watches I decided on the face of it the GX Alarm Type – D Steel Cobalt with the silicone blue strap would be a nice addition to have. To be honest, I chose the lesser price watch so if it wasn’t what I expected, I hadn’t spent too much money.

However, I wasn’t disappointed, it was great quality, different, and with the silicone band just so comfortable to wear. The watch has good weight without a metal bracelet and has had some great comments on the first day of wearing it.

From placing the order I was really made to feel a part of the ‘family’ with emails and messages back and forth. dispatch was smooth and stress-free and was with me in 6 days. I can’t praise the guys highly enough, not only on the product which I’m so happy with but also their attention to the personal approach and communication they give throughout.

15 Oct. 2022 arrival day of my brand new GX1 Cool Gray time piece of excellence arrives. I slowly open the package. Out comes some literature then the watch box itself. I open the watch box and nestled inside is a stunning time piece.

I show my Wife and she replies ohhhh nice. I thoroughly look over my new watch, no flaws that I can discern. Then I read the literature and set the time and date. It has been spot on in fact I stayed up late just to make sure the date changed on time, it did.

Seriously buying from LIV has been a flawless experience…even though the LIV team was on a holiday shutdown my emails were answered quickly. Shout out to Chaz and especially James who answered any questions I had concerning the watch of my choice.

Comparing the GX1 to another watch of mine was a surprise. Although larger it somehow sits on my wrist better and looks better. The silicone band is comfortable and looks good, compliments the watch nicely.

Loving my LIV.

I L0vE my LiV WaTcHeS S0 MucH ! My First was the GX Diver (Baby Blue) Automatic. This was my first automatic, and it is special to me, as I feel GReaTfuL for being able to have it. I bought my second Liv and it was the Rose Gold Rebel AR, I purchased this and waited many months for its appearance.

The Rebel is my favorite, for its square unique appearance. But, honestly I L0vE them both Equally, like Children. This Christmas I bought my Salesman a Liv watch, the Panda, I wanted to keep it for myself, I couldn’t believe how nice it was, it was striking.

I like it so much, I decided to purchase two more watches for my 2 employees. I felt it important to show my appreciation for humans giving it all they have in such troubling times. This is a very important time to show your appreciation for people and acknowledging the good will in the world and of men & women.

I also wanted to give appreciation to Chaz for him and his team taking their time to appreciate me as a customer and taking me in under the Liv “Family”.

This is probably the best analog/digital GShock ever made. Gold-tone steel case and bracelet are very attractive and unique for the brand. The little hint of red on the dial and hour hand make for a sporty look.

Inside, it’s packed with top features like the radio-updated time, solar charging, and all the bells and whistles typical of higher-end GShocks (timers, stopwatch, timezones, etc). If you’ve every owned one before, using these features is simple.

The LED light is bright enough to substitute as an emergency flashlight. Incredible. It doesn’t wear nearly as big as a lot of GShocks do. It’s heavy because it’s all steel. Very solidly built, classic GShock toughness.

It’s also a near-exact replica (materials notwithstanding) of the brand’s first ana/digi watch from the 1980’s, so you’ve got the good history element with this too. You cannot buy a better watch in the $500 range.

Bought this watch as a gift for my wife, she likes the chunky styling of Casio Baby-G watches and has owned many over the years. Reliable and durable watches. The prices of Casio, like all watches, have risen substantially over the years.

I purchased this with a Watch Shop 20% discount code which made for better value for money. Without this I thought the pricing of Casio, along with other brands, had increased excessively and this is the reason for my 4star value for money rating instead of a 5.

A fully metal enclosed version of the original plastic Casio G-Shock Square watch. This version has a stainless steel bezel, strap, and screw on back cover which provides 200 metres of water resistance.

The mineral crystal glass is set beneath the bezel to protect it from scratches and knocks. Sapphire glass is available on Titanium cased models at three times the price, but really isn’t necessary due to the bezel protection.

The electronic watch module features automatic time setting from radio signals or via Bluetooth using a mobile phone app. The battery is recharged by a solar panel concealed in the front dial. A few minutes of daylight each day is sufficient to keep the battery fully charged.

The watch will go into power saving mode and maintain time for months even if stored in a drawer. The display is extremely crisp and clear with a 2 or 4 second backlight display in the dark. This can be operated manually or automatically whenever you tilt the watch towards your face at night.

If the Bluetooth app is used, all the features of the watch can be accessed and set from a mobile phone, including scheduled time and date reminders. There is a facility to locate a nearby phone by activating the phone ringtone using a button push on the watch.

Additionally a single button push can get a phone to log a specific position with date and time for later review. Quite handy if you want to log progress on a long journey. The overall finish of the watch and bracelet are flawless.

The polished operating buttons are larger than on standard models but are adequately protected from accidental operation by the case panels. Bracelet adjustment is facilitated by the use of small spring pins between the links, with four point micro adjustment at the clasp.

While you could buy a plastic version of this watch including all the functionality for a lot less money, the display would be less sharp and the feel on the wrist somewhat less comfortable. Bracelet watches are a lot easier to put on and take off than strap watches.

If the clasp should come undone for some reason, a bracelet ensures the watch still remains on your wrist. Is it worth paying all that extra money? The answer is definitely yes. The overall level of finishing and quality of the components raises this watch model from something you wouldn’t care about losing to a classic and very robust timepiece that should last for decades of daily wear.

The steel case and strap may pick up dents and scratches over the years but this will only add to the unique character of the watch. This watch is essentially flawless. Set and forget pretty much forever and the watch will keep perfect time.

What more do you want from a watch?.

The full specification of the G-Shock GMW-B5000D-1ER can be found on official G-Shock websites; this includes an all-metal case and bracelet; 20bar water-resistance; ‘Tough Solar’ power; automatic time correction by ‘Multi-band 6’ radio signals; automatic calendar; 5 daily alarms; stop watch; count-down timer; day, date and time display (with optional DD/MM date format); world time (39 major cities); control via Blue Tooth from a phone App.

On my wrist, it doesn’t disappoint: the case really does have a mirror polish apart from the flat bezel face that has a finely-brushed finish to prevent dazzling reflections; the bracelet is polished with a slightly brushed finish.

Apart from the outer leaf of the triple-fold clasp stamped from sheet stainless, all other visible metal components are machined from stainless steel forgings. Casio don’t reveal the alloy composition/grade, but as only a hard stainless steel will polish to a mirror finish, it will be much more scratch-resistant than the ductile grades of sheet s/s used for the cases and bracelets of cheaper stainless steel watches.

All this solid steel makes the watch a fairly weighty 153g, but after wearing it for a couple of days, I no longer notice. The bracelet is huge; to fit my 6½” wrist, I had to remove 6 links and tighten the adjustable clasp by 1 hole reducing the band circumference by some 51mm (2”).

There’s at least one You-tube video showing how to remove links, but there’s no need to buy a tool; a piece of 1mm solid copper wire works fine with the business end filed square and smooth. Copper is best because it’s too soft to readily mark stainless steel.

I suspect that those who complain that this watch stops working after some months, haven’t read the manual! Casio’s ‘Tough Solar’ watches are powered by a solar cell (around the digital display) that charges an internal battery; for charging to work, the whole watch face must be exposed to light (daylight or artificial).

The watch only needs the equivalent of 8 minutes of sunlight per day, and when fully-charged, will operate for 22 months in darkness. Obviously the battery of a new watch can’t still be anything like fully-charged after months in the box, so it needs a few days in bright light.

It’s an incredibly reliable system; the original battery of my previous ‘Tough Solar’ Casio lasted for over 8 years of continuous use and the replacement is still performing perfectly after 5 more! I can’t comment on the “G-SHOCK Connected” App as I’ve not even down-loaded it as it’s of no use to me unless I were to take a long holiday outside the range of radio time signals.

This watch very quickly corrected itself automatically once it was removed from it’s storage tin and I’d set the home city. Held beside the clock display on either my laptop or tablet, the seconds change in perfect synchrony.

The pictures of the watch make it look a lot bigger than what it actually is. I prefer bigger watches and this one looks like a ladies watch on me. It is cool but to small for my taste.

Really like the retro style. Its a little smaller then I expected from a G Shock watch but I still like it as part of my growing G Shock collection.

A beautiful watch, with excellent detailed design. My biggest issue was quality. The G Shock etching, has visible dark spots. Disappointed with quality control.

Pleased & great looking watch

Wanted a basic step counter watch that would look good with work attire and street wear. I love how this watch looks and while the app is also basic the watch does its job well.

My first Rotary watch was bought around 25 years ago and I absolutely loved it. It can be worn in all situations, it’s attractive enough for dressy events and tough enough for every day wear. This most recently purchased watch is the second one bought to replace that original.

I still have the other two and the mechanisms both still work perfectly well, and for that reason I can’t just throw them away. (%they’re just sitting in a drawer). Unfortunately however the bracelets have suffered a lot of abuse over the years and become scratched and battered to the point where the gold colour has all but disappeared.

That said, I am not complaining, I do wear my watch constantly and only rarely take it off ( usually to change the time when the clocks go back or forward or to change the battery. ) I sleep in it, do gardening and DIY in it, shower in it and swim in it, even on holiday in the sea.

I chose this watch because it is versatile and hard wearing and on this occasion I went for a larger face because my eyesight isn’t what it was. I’m guessing in another 10 years or so I’ll be back looking for another replacement.

I hope I can still get one.

I simply love this watch. The shape, the size, the colour, links everything is top notch. The price of the watch simply doesn’t justify the watch because it looks expensive and chic in real. For everyone that loves Patek, you’ll simply love this watch.

I have always been a huge fan of Rotary watches as they are sophisticated and I’m simply impressed with this model too. I bought it in Emerald green watch face colour. I think I will buy the blue watch face colour again.

Loved it!.

Arrived without a seal on the crown, the time already set and the watch ticking. Who knows how long it’s been ticking for, the battery depleting the whole time it’s been in storage. I contacted John Lewis and they said that when ordering a watch that’s when they place a battery in the watch! Unbelievable.

Refused to help me any further. This is the third watch I’ve had from them like this. The others arrived with a dead battery because they’d been ticking away the whole time in storage. Think twice about purchasing a watch from them.

A beautiful watch At a very affordable price! Thats why I bought it turquoise dial was a Deciding point. I put the movement in a silver turquoise native American cuff I get positive comments everywhere I go the Rolex boys are jealous! Fantastic Movement Keep accurate time! So go out and buy one!.

Nicely designed watch fits for both casual and formal outfits, men or women. The size of the watch is just perfect, unlike most men’s watches, this one is not too big for people with small wrist. To top it off, you never need to change battery! Very satisfied with the purchase.

The Seiko 5 series has been around for many years and has been the benchmark of a quality watch, the SNK reviewed here is a new design based around features you’d find on any nice 5. There are many different designs of Seiko 5 and they are a good collector, prices are not dear yet.

This new model is a nice UFO shaped case design, the aqua blue face is attractive and set off by the yellow seconds hand and seconds markers just outside of the 5 minute divisions. A modern quality reliable movement found in more expensive watches is visible through the glass exhibition back.

A nice timepiece.
