I purchased this product with the intention that it was a game. I must have overlooked the print of it being an add on it’s not a game. Meaning you can download fortnite for free and this is for you to add more product to your character.

I’m glad I had bought other games along with this. My kid still liked it. If you are looking for this product Walmart again has the best price vs all other retailers. Keep in mind it is only an add on.

Typically 24. 99 on the game or in stores however I found it on clearance at Walmart for 16 dollars and it was well worth it! Multiple skins, coins to buy other stuff, and accessories. No actual disk it’s just a code in a case.

Fortnite in general is a great game for parents to enjoy with their kids!.

got game for my son for Christmas and watched him open it up with so much excitement but there was a problem the disk itself was missing. The insert was there but no disk. With walmarts policy of if the seal has been broke there is nothing that can be done basically that leaves us having to buy it again and pray the next one has a disk inside.

How does microsoft’s entry level offering into the next gen realm stack up and is it worth it? Since I currently own all three of the xbox one x, series s and series x (seriously microsoft can you get any lazier with the naming?) I thought I would take a second to give my two cents on the series s console as it compares and relates to its xbox brethren.

So first off what exactly is the Xbox Series S and where does it fit into the rest of the Xbox family? The Series S is one of microsoft’s two new next gen (current gen by now?) consoles as it looks to phase out the older Xbox One models.

Its serves as the entry level next gen console sorta like the little brother to the much more powerful, flagship Series X console. Basically an all digital, disc free upgrade to the older Xbox One family.

It brings advancements such as ray tracing, 3d audio, nvme ssd and faster gpu at the cost of storage and performance. In all honesty, the little brother doesn’t really play in the same league as its bigger brother so its actually much more logical to compare it to the One X since both price and performance falls into a much closer spectrum to see if its worth upgrading for you.

PROS:- The new Xbox Series S brings a host of advancements over the previous console cycle. Primarily and most obviously noticeable is that it is faster. Like, much faster. In fact that is the first thing everyone that has used mine says within the first 5 minutes.

The new console clocks in with a GPU that is 393Mhz faster than a One X as well as a CPU that is roughly 1. 5x faster. Add to that advanced NVME SSD and load times are drastically cut down from older consoles, so much so that it is seriously hard to sit and stare at loading screens for more than 20 seconds anymore.

Beyond that the Series S also offers support for ray tracing along with twice the refresh rate at 120hz. Another under appreciated upgrade is support for 3D spatial audio, if you haven’t experienced Dolby Atmos yet you are missing out! You also get the newer version of the Xbox wireless controller and much improved app support for all your streaming needs.

All of this at price that is much more palatable than the Series X and about that of a new One X (if you can find one). Add to that full backwards compatibility for both gaming and hardware and you can see the many benefits to upgrading.

However, that price point does come at some compromises. CONS:- There are some trade offs to having a reasonable price point and smaller profile. Primarily the Series S is not a true 4k console. Output resolution is limited 1440p compared to 4k capabilities of the One X.

However don’t forget you have a much faster refresh rate which leads to far smoother gameplay and that is going to be much noticeable than the dip in resolution which really requires a higher end tv to make a difference.

Another big difference is the obvious lack of a disc drive. Given the push towards digital gaming this may or may not matter to you, but any older games you still have on disc are basically useless and forget about using it as your 4k blu ray player.

Although you can still access streaming services such as Netflix etc. Lastly for a system that is all digital you are definitely going to run into memory storage issues. With 512Gb of internal storage off the shelf there is going to be constant shuffling of what games you keep installed on your system.

Considering most games are now in the 50-75Gb range and can often be much higher this could be quite the issue. VERDICT:- In conclusion the Series S is definitely a step up and into the next console generation.

Although the resolution is actually lower than an older One X model this is not truly noticeable unless you have a very good newer TV. What is very noticeable is the processing speed and 120Hz refresh rate which any gamer will tell you makes a much bigger difference to the overall experience and the Series S shines here.

And until you actually experience it you can’t imagine the huge difference the loading times make, it is like old school dial up compared to 5g internet. Once you get used to it you really can’t go back.

So depending on what your budget and requirements are the Series S is totally and upgrade to the One X and unless you have spent $1000+ on a tv that is no more than year old and have another $600+ to spend on the flagship Series X this might very well be the console for you! A great way to experience the benefits of next gen gaming without breaking the bank.

The Series S is a fantastic little machine for the money Microsoft is asking for. It supports all new releases going forward in this upcoming generation of games (albeit with some minor graphical and performance cutbacks here and there), Xbox One titles, and select 360/OG xbox games via an incredible backwards compatibility program.

You can rest assured that when you purchase this machine you’ll have one of the most robust libraries of content available on any console bar none. You can also take advantage of Gamepass, a service that really is the closest you can get to the Netflix of games.

With all that high praise, why did I give this a 4 star rating instead of 5? Here is where the concessions made in order to deliver a $300 box with built in ray tracing hardware, supports for 120fps output, SSD storage, all while being smaller than the previous generation’s slim model come into play.

The Series S does not have a disc drive. If you have a physical collection of Xbox One titles you were hoping to carry into the next generation, this is not the box for you. This is an all digital machine through and through.

High frame rates come at the cost of lower resolutions. The Series S supports 4k HDR video streaming as well as HDR gaming, but most games forego higher resolutions for stable 60 or even 30 fps experiences in most cases.

120fps is on the plastered on the outside of the retail box, but apart from select multiplayer titles and provided you have a TV that even supports the frame rate, you likely won’t be doing much gaming at 120fps.

This machine is best played, and perhaps designed to be played, on 1080p screens. Lastly we come to storage. The internal SSD does wonders for the user experience. Menus, boot ups, and loading for optimized games are suitably quick.

Problem is despite the packaging stating the console comes with 500GB of storage, the operating system takes up a large chunk of that leaving you with little more than 300GB of useable storage. Microsoft sells SSD expansion cards to alleviate this some, but at the current eye watering price of $220 for and extra 1TB of SSD storage you may be asking yourself, “why not save the money I would spend on the console plus the memory and instead get the Series X for $500 or better yet the PS5 Digital Edition for $400?” That leads to the conclusion and the biggest selling point for the Series S by far, availability.

Both Series X & PS5s are expected to be hard to find products till at least 2023 due to the ongoing global chip supply shortage. If you want to play the newest releases, don’t mind playing them at lower resolutions and frame rates, if having a fewer number of installed games isn’t a huge inconvenience for you, then this could be the perfect console to buy right now and tide you over until availability for the more powerful machines gets better.

I’ve had consoles and PCs for many years but as of recent I had been a PC gamer primarily and found myself growing tired of the trouble shooting, launchers and other overall minor complaints of PC gaming.

And found myself looking for a more pick up and play option the xbox series S has filled that role prefectly. An impressive little piece of hardware that runs almost any current gen game I can think of like a dream (while only costing as much as an above average graphics card that you may or may not be able to find in stock.

) In conjunction with the surprisingly good value the game pass service provides I have been absolutely pleased with every aspect of the console. The controller being battery charged instead of using an internal rechargeable seems an odd choice but this can easily be remedied with a set of rechargeable double AAs.

That is honestly my biggest and only complaint with the console. The unit is almost if not absolutely silent which was a nice change from the air port terminal that was the ps4 I owned a few years ago.

I highly suggest if you are looking for a current generation console make this the one you get unless you particularly want the benefits that come from the stronger series X or a PS5 this is absolutely the console for you.

It honestly reminds me of owning a PS2 back when they first came out and those vibes are hard to replicate. I’m having fun just playing games on my couch, dropping my jaw at pretty graphics and making friends and catching up with my brother online.

Love this table! As you walk into the house, I now have a basket on it. Everyone comes in, takes off their shoes and puts their keys, sunglasses or any other small item, in the basket on this perfect table.

I absolutely love this TV stand and for me it’s a keeper, but I’d have to say that for the price it should have been already assembled or mostly assembled. Assembly wasn’t as easy, some parts were frustrating bc of small screws or the weird round screws to tighten up the walls didn’t get tight enough (I found a solution to that).

I loved having the instructions in pictures but for some pictures weren’t as helpful. The end product is nice and sturdy. Assembly took me longer than 3 hours but I wasn’t rushing either.

This piece sits behind my office desk. It goes well with grey carpet, off white walls, and pairs easily with other colors. I have blue, green, and orange in my other office art. Very lightweight and easy to hang.

Quality look.

My first Nintendo Switch. I was waiting for this little design update for years since I avoided the first release as Nintendo has a history of releasing a slight redesign a year or two later but this took longerI feel like the only games worth getting are the Nintendo exclusive titles.

I buy all the others off of Steam as the graphics, performance and price is better. I just wish there was a Steam client to stream via a PC but I understand why Nintendo won’t do this although from my perspective I’m not going to buy third party titles as the Switch is underpowered.

I’ve been very happy with Mario Kart, Zelda BoTW, Animal Crossing and some free to play titles. Looking forward to getting some more Nintendo fist party titles as they do squeeze a lot out of the hardware they have and Nintendo games are generally more fun IMOI do wish Nintendo would go for a high performance ARM chip though as I think it prevents developers from releasing titles that require better performance.

Hopefully the next Switch will address this and be backwards compatible as the competition have released backwards compatible consoles and I think other Nintendo customers have been very loyal to the brand and perhaps repurchasing old titles over the years has become frustrating and seen as a cash grab.

I’m too recent a customer to experience joy con drift but I’m a tinkerer so I’ll be happy to do the repair myself but I understand that a lot of people may not be happy to do this. I’m a bit surprised they did not address this problem given the widespread criticism.

So the new switch oled in white looks much nicer then the neon version with the black dock. The white joycons and dock really do look crisp and more expensive looking. Immediately on starting up the console you notice the improvement in the screen in its colours and clarity it is a nice step up and definitely noticeable.

Also on paper the screen is only 0. 8 of an inch bigger but somehow it looks so much bigger then the 6. 2” version and its much better to not have the thick black edging around the screen that is a huge and noticeable difference for the better.

Also the addition of the glass oled screen feels more premium to look at and to touch. If you understand that internally you are not getting a better chip or higher resolution and can see pass that then the screen upgrade along with the other subtle changes are well worth the upgrade.

There is certainly nothing wrong with the first versions of the switch but the oled version just feels more premium and you do notice clarity and colours a lot more in the OLED version along with a much brighter screen.

In docked mode it’s basically no different so if you only play in docked mode then it makes sense to stay with your current switch. Also if you ask yourself is the extra £50 for the OLED switch over the original switch’s current selling price justified, i would say defiantly 100% its worth paying the extra £50 and getting the OLED if you play in hand held mode.

First off, I want to let anybody know who might be purchasing this as a gift to know that this isn’t an actual game but items and currency that can be redeemed within the game Fortnite itself, which is a free-to-play game.

I’ve seen confused parents and grandparents ask about this, so I want to clear that up now. If you’re an avid player of Fortnite, and if you find this on sale like I did, it’s not a bad purchase, especially for the 1000 V-bucks that are included.

It also comes with three character skins, and various skins for pickaxes and gliders. The most odd part is that it’s sold in a game case; it’s literally a Switch game case with the code on a piece of paper inside.

But, it’s at least a spare case in the event you need to store a game cartridge inside of it.

What a great pack! Loved dropping into Chapter 3 wearing my Minty Aura. Other skins are good, Oro really fits in well with the mint effect. Brite Bomber also looks pretty cool. Gifted my friend the battle pass with the VBucks as I already had it.

I expect these skins to be really popular around Christmas time and in the coming month or so. The other Cosmetics in the pack go great with other minty skins (Codename E. L. F, etc. ). Really recommend pack if you like Fortnite, or as a gift for someone you know who does.

Reading is fundamental. I almost returned this game after my daughter opened it on Christmas because the cartridge wasn’t in there. It wasn’t until I took the time and looked over the game case. Be sure to download the original game before adding this game.

My daughter can’t stop playing since we figured everything out.

Iv not opened my calendar yet but it looks good quality paper and the pictures look bright and colourful and plenty of space to write dates on.

The pattern is lovely, the cover is soft and hard wearing. My son loves the design. I especially like that there’s a bright colour on the reverse side!

This might be my 6 or 7th purchase from Uncommon Goods! Big Dodger fans here so I thought this would be a perfect gift. It is absolutely beautiful. The real let down is the top. When drinking out of the lid it leaks.

Very disappointing. If the lid didn’t leak when drinking out of it, it would have been 5 stars!.

A few years back I purchased the Cubs bottle opener. The handle was made from an actual Cubs wooden bat and I thought that was a super cool gift idea for a Cubs fan. I gave it to my son’s best friend for Christmas.

He has since moved away, but we still keep in touch. I saw this Cubs insulated pint glass and thought it would be the perfect compliment. I mailed it to him and he was so surprised and excited. Love this kid.
